Dad makes 10-year-old daughter walk five miles in the cold to punish her for bullying

Sixteen million views and counting for this since he posted it on Monday.

This man will be our next president.

In the video he addresses those who might disagree, saying, “I know a lot of you parents are not going to agree with this and that’s all right. I am doing what I think is right to teach my daughter a lesson to stop her from bullying.”

“Parents need to hold their kids accountable,” Cox said. “So that was me showing how I hold my kid accountable. I’m not going to be another parent that’s just going to brush things under the rug and say, ‘Kids will be kids.’”

He said this was the second time Kirsten has gotten in trouble for bullying and she was given a three-day suspension.

Said one cuckish Facebook commenter who doesn’t understand the value of discipline and obviously votes Green Party, “Cure bullying with bullying. Great lesson, what’s next beating your kids so they don’t hit [others?]” Sending her alone on a five-mile walk would have been reckless, but as you can see below that’s not what happened. In fact, he never made her do the whole five-mile route in one go. It was broken up over the course of her three-day suspension. Presumably she was never out in the cold for more than an hour or so at a time.

So what’s the objection? She probably spends at least that much time every day during the winter running around outdoors at recess or after school with her friends. It’s not even a gratuitous punishment in the sense of choosing an unpleasant chore at random and making her do it just to make her unhappy. He made her walk to school after she was suspended from riding the bus; she told him that he’d need to drive her for the next few days and he told her guess again. The lesson here, obviously, is that if she wants a warm vehicle to carry her along this route in the future she’d best be more considerate to the other kids on the bus. She has a “new appreciation for some of the simple things in life she used to take for granted,” he posted later.

If you want to shame him for something, shame him for making the video and sharing it, not for the punishment. Kids will be goofing on her for this for years. Here’s the clip; make sure to click the little audio symbol if you don’t hear sound when it begins to play.
