Trump’s Bump Stock Ban Goes Into Effect

Today marks the first day President Donald Trump’s “bump stock” ban goes into effect. A bump stock is a modification device that allows semi-automatic weapons to harness the recoil energy from a shot to give the firearm the ability to fire like an automatic firearm.

Ted Cruz Has A Resolution That Would Finally Call Out Actual Anti-Semitism

This week, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) will introduce a resolution that, contra House Democrats’ recent watered down anti-bigotry resolution that wholly sold out the party’s manifold Jewish supporters, will firmly and directly call out the age-old, uniquely vile disease of anti-Semitism.

Feds Wait Too Long, So State AGs Begin Their Move Against Tech Giants

It has become increasingly apparent over the years that the major Silicon Valley-based technology companies have tried to straddle the line between being open platforms for the sharing of information or biased arbiters that pick and choose what information can be shared.

At the same time, those several tech companies have grown so large and amassed so much power that they have essentially become monopolies that govern the purportedly free space of the internet with arbitrary rules and terms of service that are inconsistently applied.

Though there have been rumblings among elected federal officials about addressing the growing concerns on this issue, nothing much has been done as of yet. However, a number of bipartisan state-level officials across the country are considering their options to move against the Silicon Valley monopolists, and “all actions” are on the table and under consideration.

Republican attorney general of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, who serves as president of the National Association of Attorneys General, was interviewed on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Daily on March 19 and said that already existing anti-trust laws could be used to combat the growing the power of major tech firms like Google, Facebook and Twitter, among others.

“We have seen a tremendous amount of consolidation in regard to social platforms and the tech industry over the last decade, and the result of that has become a handful of companies — and I mean a very handful — that have amassed a tremendous amount of data and power over the U.S. and world economy,” Landry said.

Host Alex Marlow agreed and noted that the speech of conservatives had been stifled.

“Just the fact that they can censor any type of speech is problematic, on top of the fact that the monetization of people’s personal data is enriching these companies at the expense of the consumer,” Landry replied.

“When you talk to attorneys general around the country — irrespective of whether they’re Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative — there is an instinct that something is going on,” he continued. “So, there is this instinctive feeling that something must be done with these companies, that they have become too big.”

Marlow noted that there seemed to be a rather odd coming together of bipartisan officials who recognized just how powerful and influential the tech companies had become in Washington D.C.

At one point midway through the interview, both Marlow and Landry chuckled as they found themselves praising Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a 2020 candidate, for speaking out against the censorship practices of the tech firms.

Landry pointed out that one of the unique things about America is that no single person or entity was bigger than the government because the government is essentially comprised of the people.

“Historically, when corporations in this country, in our free market economy, have amassed monopolistic power — power to basically control the economy — the people have stood up and said, ‘Enough is enough. Something must be done,’” he said.

Marlow asked what sort of action was being considered, and Landry replied, “I think that all action is on top of the table,” and noted a forthcoming meeting between state attorneys general and the Federal Trade Commission to discuss ways to protect consumers, such as through anti-trust action or more careful scrutiny of proposed mergers and buyouts and consolidation of the tech firms.

In discussing the increasingly apparent bias of firms like Google and Facebook, Landry initially sidestepped the political aspect and brought up things like ad placement and search results, noting how those could be skewed favorably in certain directions by the firms while the average consumer had an expectation that all potential options and search results would be displayed. Shifting back toward the political aspect, Landry described the bias as “pervasive.”

“And that’s become problematic, and I think that’s why you see the concern on both the left and the right, but again, when you look at the amount of data, the amount of processing power that these companies have at their disposal, they know more about you than you know about yourself,” Landry said.

“Unfortunately, we’ve seen them make comments like, ‘We can basically bend the consumer in the direction we want him to go rather than what they want to go.’ That’s not independence. That’s not liberty. That’s not a free market.”

Landry pointed out that the federal government had been “slow” to address the issue of protecting consumers, which had prompted the bipartisan attorneys general to consider what was in their power to do to take on the issue.

He also expressed deep concern over corporate censorship being used to shape social policies and noted that the Sherman Anti-Trust Act from the late 1800s was designed specifically with that sort of thing in mind.

Landry made a number of other incredible and rather pertinent points throughout the entirety of the 20-minute interview. Hopefully, Landry and other attorneys general will soon step up and take tangible actions against the Silicon Valley tech monopolies, lest the nation cedes control of the free and open internet to those few self-interested and biased corporations.

Another Soros-Linked District Attorney Blocks Boston Police from Making Arrests on Shoplifting, Destruction of Property, Resisting Arrest, Drug Offenses… No Deportation of Illegals

Radical far left Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins released a memo this week.

The far left District Attorney announced new orders for police officers who are no longer allowed to arrest people for shoplifting, for breaking and entering, for destruction of property/vandalism, for resisting arrest, for disturbing the peace, and for drug offenses.

Rollins also ordered police to refuse access to ICE officials for the arrest any illegals in courthouses — no matter the crime.

Rollins is linked to the far left program originally funded by George Soros to support far left radicals in deep blue cities across the US.

The program has helped elect radical attorneys in Chicago, St. Louis, Sacramento and San Diego. On Tuesday Soros-linked Kim Foxx dropped all charges against hate hoaxer Jussie Smollett in Chicago without explanation.

Police are instructed to notify her office if anyone tries to deport an illegal alien.

Rachael Rollins also wants judges to lower charges against illegals so that they will not get deported.

She is attacking law enforcement and aiding criminal behavior!

‘The Rollins Memo’ ices out ICE, confirms no-prosecution list

The Boston Herald reported on this insane and dangerous Democrat.

“I don’t believe accountability has to equal incarceration. There are many ways we can hold people accountable without putting them in jail,” Rollins writes, according to the policy paper obtained by the Herald and later made public by the DA Monday.

As for the county’s “foreign-born population” when accused of crimes, Rollins’ memo states her office “will begin to factor into all charging and sentencing decisions the potential of immigration consequences.”

That includes taking into consideration any defense attorney’s “failure to provide accurate advice” about a suspect’s chances of being grabbed by federal immigration officers.

Rollins adds that if a DA’s office employee “observes Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers” or Department of Homeland Security agents “apprehending or questioning” someone called to court about “residence status,” they are to immediately alert her personally, her first assistant or general counsel.

Far-Left Arsonists Burn Conservative Activist’s Dorm Room at Tulane University…The Scoop Video

The INTOLERANT Left is back at it again!

This time, 3 far-left wing terrorists attempted to burn down the dorm room of Peyton Lofton, a student at Tulane University.

Lofton is the President of the conservative student organization “Turning Point USA” at Tulane University. He is also a member of the libertarian student organization “Young Americans for Liberty.”

This is just another disturbing example of the lack of free speech for conservatives on college campuses.

Luckily, President Trump has recently signed an Executive Order to protect Free Speech on college campuses.

Carlson Highlights CNN’s ‘Long History of Not Getting the Facts First’

Fox News host Tucker Carlson devoted a large portion of his opening monologue Monday night to the fallout from the release of the Mueller report, specifically focusing on CNN’s coverage of the Trump-Russia probe. Carlson accused CNN head Jeff Zucker of intentionally misleading his audience before going through some examples of CNN’s “long history of not getting the facts first” in a dig at the network’s motto.

Democrats Refuse to Vote for Green New Deal They Endorsed

The Senate on Tuesday overwhelmingly rejected Democrats’ so-called Green New Deal, touted to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as a way of combating climate change.

The vote was 57-0 against proceeding to debate, with 42 Democrats and one independent opting for “present.”

Among other things, the Green New Deal would require significant changes in the energy, transportation, and manufacturing industries.

“The Green New Deal is a socialist fantasy that would put the government in charge of everything from your health care to the way you heat your house,” Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., tweeted before the vote. “The American people deserve to know which [Senate Democrats] support this massive government expansion.”

All 53 Republicans voted against beginning debate on the nonbinding resolution. Sixty votes in favor were needed to begin debate.

Only three Democrats and one independent lawmaker who caucuses with the Democrats—Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.; Doug Jones, D-Ala.; Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz.; and Angus King, I-Maine—voted against it. The other 42 Democrats, and another independent who caucuses with Democrats, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., opted for “present.”

The Green New Deal, pushed by freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and introduced in the form of a nonbinding resolution Feb. 7, would, among other things, “phase out conventional fuels (that is, oil, natural gas, and coal) by 2030 … ; implement a federal jobs guarantee; retrofit all U.S. buildings; overhaul transportation with high-speed rail; and provide universal health care,” Heritage Foundation scholar Lee Edwards wrote in a recent commentary.

The measure also seeks to reduce to “net-zero” greenhouse gas emissions, including “cow farts,” as the original Green New Deal FAQ released by Ocasio-Cortez stated:

We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast, but we think we can ramp up renewable manufacturing and power production, retrofit every building in America, build the smart grid, overhaul transportation and agriculture, plant lots of trees and restore our ecosystem to get to net-zero.

The legislation would fail to significantly reduce the earth’s temperature, according to a report from Nick Loris, an economist who focuses on energy, environmental, and regulatory issues at The Heritage Foundation.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said in February that he wanted to call a vote on the Green New Deal to put members of the Senate on record.

“I’ve noted with great interest the Green New Deal, and we’re going to be voting on that in the Senate to give everybody an opportunity to go on record,” he said.

In an interview Friday on NBC’s “Late Night” with host Seth Meyers, Ocasio-Cortez said the Green New Deal encompasses everything she thinks should be policy goals for Congress to enact.

“If we’re going to make progress, we need to declare our North Star, and our North Star is 100 percent renewable energy. It’s Medicare for All. It’s tuition-free public colleges. It’s investing in technology and renewable resources,” she said.

Prior to the vote, many leading Democratic senators had come out in support of the Green New Deal.

An aide to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., told Axios in January that she “supports the idea of a Green New Deal to ambitiously tackle our climate crisis, economic inequality, and racial injustice.”

Warren’s fellow Massachusetts Democratic senator, Ed Markey, a sponsor of the bill, tweeted his support Tuesday afternoon ahead of the vote.

“Instead of confronting the generational challenge of climate change, Senate Republicans just want to make a mockery of the #GreenNewDeal,” he said. “Because they have no plan to fight climate change.”

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., also seemed to tweet support for the Green New Deal on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the vote, without citing it by name.

“Senate Republicans are playing political games with climate change,” Harris tweeted. “We should not be wasting our time with fake votes & cynical stunts. The Republican majority must stop denying science and finally admit that climate change is real. Time is not on our side.”

In January, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., referring to the Green New Deal, told the liberal Pod Save America podcast that “the platform of it is really exciting,” and in February, Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., compared the Green New Deal to the effort to send a man to the moon. Sanders has said he is “proud” to be an original co-sponsor of the legislation.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., chided McConnell for forcing a vote on the Green New Deal. “I challenge Leader McConnell to say that our climate change crisis is real, that it’s caused by humans, and that Congress needs to act,” Schumer said in February. “This is what two-thirds of the American people agree with.”
