About that Page/Strzok ‘insurance policy’

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office – that there’s no way he [Trump] gets elected – but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” writes FBI counterintelligence officer Peter Strzok to FBI lawyer Lisa Page, with whom he was having an extramarital affair while spearheading both the Clinton email inquiry and the early Trump-Russia probe, adding, “It’s like a life insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40” (March 4, 2016).

Isn’t it clear that “the path” was a developing strategy by which these co-conspirators would stop Trump by any means necessary?  Was it at that meeting with “Andy” McCabe, then #2 at the FBI, where the three of them conjured the idea of using the FISA court to get warrants in order to unmask members of the Trump campaign so they could be surveilled?

Surely, they would find something criminal.

These people obviously believed themselves to be above the law.  And then, when Trump became the GOP candidate, they instituted the next phase: use the fake dossier commissioned by the Hillary Clinton campaign, the one filled with all manner of fabricated crimes and offenses Trump had allegedly committed, maybe even pay Fusion GPS to amp it up, make it even more salacious.  Then they would use it to bring about Trump’s downfall.

They had planned to prevent his election.

When that failed, they planned to take him out before inauguration.

Once he was inaugurated, they doubled down.

In cahoots with Comey, they would lie, cheat, and leak.  Then, when, for good reason, Trump fired James Comey, they, these arrogant, biased snobs at the FBI, shifted into high gear.  They began leaking like sieves (remember Ellen Farkus?).

Then there are Charles Ohr of the DOJ and his lovely wife, Nellie.

Ohr met with Christopher Steele before and after the election.  Steele is the man who provided the dirt on Trump via his pals in Moscow.  Then Mrs. Ohr got a ham radio license!  The NSA would be hard pressed to capture those conversations.  So an employee of the DOJ was paid by Fusion GPS to further harm Trump.

In an atypical moment of craven cowardice, Jeff Sessions foolishly recused himself from the made-up-out-of-whole-cloth collusion with Russia inquiry, turning the power over the eventual investigation to Rod Rosenstein, the man who embarrassed himself at the hearing before the House Oversight Committee yesterday.  Jim Jordan, Trey Gowdy, and a few others asked him withering questions on point and got nowhere.  The man defended Mueller’s hiring a team chock-full of progressive activists.  The obvious conclusion is that their mission, which they chose to accept, was to find Trump guilty of an impeachable offense.  There was no crime to begin with; Sessions never should have allowed this investigation.  But this team of witch-hunters was given free rein and an unlimited budget to get the job done.

This is a constitutional crisis so much worse than Watergate that it boggles the mind.  Americans now are coming to grips with the fact that their government law enforcement institutions are corrupt to the core.  The left embraces this reality because leftists think it benefits them.  The Republicans in Congress are, with several terrific exceptions, all Walter Mittys, powerful in their own minds but absolute wusses on planet Earth.

Bottom line?  Our DOJ and FBI (and the IRS) have been hopelessly corrupted by the Obama administration that used them to torment its opponents.  Neither agency can now be trusted. They are tainted by their self-righteous campaign to destroy a man they loathe for, most of all, being an outsider.  Trump was never a member of their exclusive club; he was busy working, building things all over the world, employing thousands of people, getting things done.  Imagine his frustration at the snail’s pace at which Congress works.  They work hard at getting nothing done.

Hats off to Jim Jordan, Trey Gowdy, Louie Gohmert, Ron DeSantis, and Chuck Grassley, to name a few of the few.  Their responses to the thoroughly ridiculous conflicts of interest that invalidate the Mueller investigation are normal, and they are justifiably outraged.  The Democrats seem to have no problem at all with all the overt malice at the root of the Obama-Clinton plan to stop Trump.

Let us hope that the I.G. investigation into all of this will be legitimate, honest, and above board.  Is it looking into the Clintons’ corruption re: Uranium One, and their habit of selling access?  Will the I.G. report include information about the Clintons’ takeover of the DNC, the hacking of the DNC computers that they refused to let the FBI examine?  The murder of Seth Rich?  Who exactly is Imran Awan, the I.T. guy who probably knows everything and likely was blackmailing a few Dems?

The damning texts from Strzok to his paramour, an FBI lawyer, are a sad commentary on the state of the FBI.  The agency has a severe ethics problem and can no longer be trusted to enforce the law.  Mueller once headed the FBI but did not know better than to stack his team with anti-Trump activists!  That does not pass the smell test.  He did because he knew no one would stop him.  McCabe is tainted, as is Rosenstein.  Time will tell us how Wray performs, but he has yet to impress.  As Camus said, “a man without ethics is a wild beast loosed upon this world.”  Our FBI and DOJ have become wild beasts that threaten American civil society.

Clinton Struck Deal With Obama State Dept. to Keep Records Private

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton struck a deal with the State Department while serving in the Obama administration that allowed her to take ownership of records she did not want made public, according to recently released reports.

Clinton and her then-deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin were permitted to remove electronic and physical records under a claim they were "personal" materials and "unclassified, non-record materials."

Judicial Watch made the revelation after filing a FOIA request with the State Department and obtaining a record of the agreement.

The newly released documents show the deal allowed Clinton and Abedin to remove documents related to particular calls and schedules, and the records would not be "released to the general public under FOIA." Abedin, for instance, was allowed to remove electronic records and five boxes of physical files, including files labeled "Muslim Engagement Documents."

The released records included a list of designated materials that "would not be released to the general public under FOIA" and were to be released "to the Secretary with this understanding."

Electronic copy of "daily files" – which are word versions of public documents and non-records: speeches/press statements/photos from the website, a non-record copy of the schedule, a non record copy of the call log, press clips, and agenda of daily activities

Electronic copy of a log of calls the Secretary made since 2004, it is a non-record, since her official calls are logged elsewhere (official schedule and official call log)

Electronic copy of the Secretary’s "call grid" which is a running list of calls she wants to make (both personal and official)

16 boxes: Personal Schedules (1993 thru 2008-prior to the Secretary’s tenure at the Department of State.

29 boxes: Miscellaneous Public Schedules during her tenure as FLOTUS and Senator-prior to the Secretary’s tenure at the Department of State

1 box: Personal Reimbursable receipts (6/25/2009 thru 1/14/2013)

1 box: Personal Photos

1 box: Personal schedule (2009-2013)

A physical file of "the log of the Secretary’s gifts with pictures of gifts" was also handed over to Clinton. Gifts received by government employees is highly regulated, and often strictly limited. However, gifts that are "motivated by a family relationship or personal friendship" may be accepted without limitation.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton released a statement condemning the agreement between the government and Clinton.

"We already know the Obama State Department let Hillary Clinton steal and then delete her government emails, which included classified information. But these new records show that was only part of the scandal," Fitton said. "These new documents show the Obama State Department had a deal with Hillary Clinton to hide her calls logs and schedules, which would be contrary to FOIA and other laws."

"When are the American people going to get an honest investigation of the Clinton crimes?" he added.

Obama AG Eric Holder Threatens GOP Congress: ‘Any attempt to remove Bob Mueller will not be tolerated’

Obama AG Eric Holder Threatens GOP Congress: ‘Any attempt to remove Bob Mueller will not be tolerated’

Former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder threatened Republicans in Congress against removing Special Counsel Robert Mueller the day after GOP congressmen grilled Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein over Mueller stacking his team of Trump investigators with Hillary Clinton donors and lawyers. Holder issued his threat in a tweet Wednesday morning.

“Speaking on behalf of the vast majority of the American people, Republicans in Congress be forewarned:any attempt to remove Bob Mueller will not be tolerated. These are BS attacks on him/his staff that are blatantly political-designed to hide the real wrongdoing. Country not party”

In a video released earlier this year by Senate Democrats, Holder’s successor as President Barack Obama’s Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, infamously called for bloody civil unrest against newly-elected President Donald Trump, saying, “They marched, they bled. Yes, some of them have died. This is hard. Every good thing is. We have done this before. We can do this again.”

Has there ever been a time when the previous administration’s attorney’s general threatened Congress and tried to provoke civil unrest against the new administration?

University of Iowa Kicks Christian Group Off Campus For Its Religious Beliefs…

“University of Iowa kicks Muslim group off campus for its religious beliefs” is a headline you will never read.

Via Washington Examiner:

The  kicked a small Christian group of students, Business Leaders in Christ, off campus recently, because they regularly share their religious beliefs. In response, the group sued. The dean of students told BLinC that if it wants to be back on campus, it must “revise” its religious beliefs and submit an “acceptable plan” for selecting its leaders.

In BLinC v. University of Iowa, BLinC asks the court to stop this religious discrimination and allow it to choose leaders who embrace its mission, just like every other student group on campus. Becket, a legal organization that specializes in religious liberty, is representing the student group.

BLinC is a small student organization that gives Christian students a forum for discussing how to incorporate their beliefs in the competitive business world. Like many religious groups, its members also serve others because of their religious beliefs. On Sept. 1, the university told BLinC it could select leaders who affirm its beliefs, so long as those beliefs were clearly stated so students would be aware of them. But after BLinC added a statement of its religious beliefs to its campus webpage, the university responded by kicking it off campus shortly before Thanksgiving.

Rahm Emanuel Says President No Longer Welcome In Chicago, Declares City A “Trump-Free Zone”…

Via Chicago Reader:

President Donald Trump is no longer welcome in Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel declared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Monday night. “Our motto: A city he’ll never sleep in. We don’t want him,” Emanuel said. “Look, Donald Trump is driving forward looking through the rearview mirror, and I’m not going that way because I want my city going that way and I want it to be a Trump-free zone.”

Waiting Times For Canada’s Single-Payer Health Care System Hit Record High

Waiting times for medically necessary health care services under Canada’s single-payer system have hit a record high, according to a report from the Fraser Institute.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) has touted Canada’s single-payer system, saying it is a model the United States should follow. He introduced a "Medicare for All" plan this past September.

"The issue that has got to be studied is how does it happen that here in Canada they provide quality care to all people, and I don’t think there is any debate that the quality of care here is as good or better than the United States, and they do it for half the cost," Sanders said.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) cosponsored Sanders’s bill, saying she believes the measure will bring high-quality and low-cost care to Americans. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.) wrote a provision in Sanders’s bill allowing Americans to buy into a public plan during the transition to single-payer.

The Fraser Institute found that patients under Canada’s single-payer system this year waited an average of 10.9 weeks—roughly two-and-a-half months—from the time they had a consultation with a specialist to the time at which they received treatment. Physicians consider 7.2 weeks to be a clinically reasonable wait time.

The report also found that patients’ wait for treatment after referral to a specialist by their general practitioner was 21.2 weeks, or longer than four months.

"This year’s wait time—the longest ever recorded in this survey’s history—is 128 percent longer than in 1993, when it was just 9.3 weeks," the report states.

The report, which looks at 10 provinces in Canada, found that there are 1,040,791 patients waiting for procedures. There are also high wait times to receive scans and ultrasounds. Patients waited an average of 10.8 weeks for an MRI scan and 3.9 weeks for an ultrasound.

"Research has repeatedly indicated that wait times for medically necessary treatment are not benign inconveniences," the report states. "Wait times can, and do, have serious consequences such as increased pain, suffering, and mental anguish."

According to the report, patients experience long wait times for surgeries, waiting as long as 41.7 weeks for orthopedic surgery, 32.9 weeks for neurosurgery, and 31.4 weeks for ophthalmology.

"In certain instances, [wait times] can also result in poorer medical outcomes—transforming potentially reversible illnesses or injuries into chronic, irreversible conditions, or even permanent disabilities," the report states. "In many instances, patients may also have to forgo their wages while they wait for treatment, resulting in an economic cost to the individuals themselves and the economy in general."

Fraser points out that previous studies have found the lost economic output in waiting for joint replacement surgery, coronary artery bypass graft surgery, MRI scans, and cataract surgery totaled $14.8 billion in 2007.

The report also notes that 46.3 percent of patients would prefer to have their procedure performed within a week if they had the opportunity to do so.

Sally Pipes, a former Canadian and president of the Pacific Research Institute, said one of the incentives for her to come to America was the growing problem with Canada’s health care system.

Pipes’s mother, who lived in Canada, died from colon cancer in 2005 because she couldn’t get a colonoscopy. She finally received one two weeks before she died when she was hemorrhaging.

"Why is it that politicians are out there calling for single payer when we have an example of a real single payer system right north of the border and that 63,500 Canadians go abroad in order to get procedures when they think the wait times are too long?" Pipes asks. "Right now in Canada there’s just over a million Canadians waiting on a waiting list to get a procedure."

"The thing that is very worrying to me is this rising call for single payer, both at the state level and nationally in the United States by Bernie Sanders and 16 other senators, a number of people in the House—116 House members want Medicare for all and yet in Canada you hear all [these] stories about the waiting times," she said.

Pipes said Americans would be appalled by the quality of the hospitals and their equipment in Canada and that is because government is calling the shots, which increases wait times and rations care. She says an example of a true single-payer system in the United States is the Veterans Administration.

"We’ve just seen in the last couple of years all of the problems with the VA and the waiting times for our Vets and the lack of access to the latest procedures even under the Veterans Choice Program," Pipes said. "This is what will happen if Bernie Sanders gets his way."

"I just can’t imagine that Americans would tolerate waiting 4.1 weeks for a CT scan, 10.8 weeks for an MRI, and 4 weeks for an ultrasound, but that’s what happens when government is the sole provider of your health care," she said. "Canada spends 11.5 percent of its gross domestic product on health care and in order to keep that number at that level they have to ration care and deny care, and you have long waits."

Pipes also refutes Sanders’s claim that Canada’s system offers relatively the same quality of care at a cheaper cost.

"It isn’t cheaper because Canadians pay for health care through their taxes," Pipes explains. "The average Canadian family pays anywhere between $4,000 and $12,000 a year in taxes for a system where they have to wait over five months from seeing a primary care doctor to getting treatment by a specialist."

"There’s fewer doctors relative to the population than in all but four other industrialized countries," she said. "It’s last in terms of acute care hospital beds and there’s doctor shortages, residency spots are down, and waiting times—this is what happens when government controls the health care system, and this is what Bernie Sanders wants for the United States."

Democrats fold; withdraw threat to shut down government to protect Dreamers

After weeks of posturing, Democrats have withdrawn their threats to shut down the government if Republicans do not include deportation relief for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients in a government funding bill.

While House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi  (D-Calif.) had previously vowed that Democrats would not leave town without deportation relief for Dreamers, she began to backtrack late last week and suggest that Democrats were withdrawing their shutdown threat.

“Democrats are not willing to shut government down, no,” Pelosi said.

Other Democrats have also started dialing back their rhetoric on DACA as the Christmas recess looms. Sen.Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) told Politico in an interview, “Obviously, I want a Dreamers fix by the end of the year. I’m not sure that it serves our purposes to draw hard lines in the sand in the middle of negotiations.”

Democrats in the Senate have the power to block a funding resolution with a filibuster because Republicans have used the budgetary reconciliation measure in order to pass the tax reform bill that is currently at the top of President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda. Under Senate rules, reconciliation can only be used once per year.

Negotiations over a continuing resolution to fund the government have reached a fevered pitch as lawmakers attempt to reach a long-term solution before the current funding resolution runs out on Dec. 22.

Republicans and Democrats have agreed to two last-minute temporary funding resolutions that preserve the status quo thus far in the negotiation process, but both sides seem anxious to find a longer term solution and avoid the looming threat of government shutdown while heading into an election year.

Accordingly, Democrats are softening demands on a DACA fix, which is widely viewed as a poison pill, and focusing on a broader range of priorities, including funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Republicans, for their part, want funding for increased border security measures included in any resolution that continues to fund the government.

In September, the Trump administration announced that it would end the DACA, program created by former President Barack Obama. The DACA program allows young immigrants living in the country illegally who were brought here as children to remain in the U.S. It does not give them legal status but provides temporary protection from deportation and permits them to work legally.

For The First Time Ever, Scientists Have Recorded The Humming Noise Earth Makes While Rotating…

Via CBS:

Far from the blaring cacophony of cities, towns and suburbs, there are far quieter soundtracks to be found — the murmurs of wind rustling grasses, rushing waves tumbling onto beaches, the creaking of tree branches and trunks.

But underneath all that is yet another soundscape, a permanent, low-frequency drone produced by Earth itself, from the vibrations of ongoing, subtle seismic movements that are not earthquakes and are too small to be detected without special equipment.

Earth is “humming.” You can’t hear it, but it’s ongoing. And now scientists have measured that persistent hum from the ocean floor, for the first time. [What’s That Noise? 11 Strange and Mysterious Sounds on Earth & Beyond]

Most of the movements in the ground under our feet aren’t dramatic enough for people to feel them. Earthquakes, of course, are the big exception, but Earth undergoes far more earthquakes globally than you might suspect — an estimated 500,000 per year, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Of those, 100,000 are strong enough to be felt, and about 100 of those are powerful enough to cause damage.

But even in the quiet periods between earthquakes, there’s a whole lot of shaking going on.

He intervenes in couple’s fight—and gets tossed off four-story bridge into icy river for his trouble

Police said three people were arrested and face charges in connection to an incident in which a man was tossed off a Connecticut bridge Thanksgiving morning, WFSB-TV reported.

What went down?

  • Shelton police said 25-year-old Gregory Rottjer was arguing with his girlfriend, 22-year-old Jennifer Hannum, as the pair were walking across the Shelton/Derby Bridge, WFSB reported.

  • Just after 1 a.m., the victim and his brother checked on Hannum’s welfare — and the victim told Rottjer to “chill out,” police told the station.
  • Cellphone video shows Rottjer going after the victim who was backing up with his hands in the air, police told WFSB.

  • “He got involved telling him to leave her alone…stated the man became aggressive toward him and they began to fight,” court documents noted, the station said.
  • Rottjer and his friend, Dorso, started a fight with the victim and the victim’s brother, police told WFSB.
  • Then Rottjer threw the victim over the bridge, police told the station.
  • The victim fell 45 feet — about four stories down, the station said — and police found him on his back in what WFSB described as “icy water.”
  • Police, firefighters and EMS workers rescued the victim who continues to recover from injuries, the station said.
  • Rottjer, Dorso and Hannum fled the scene, police told WFSB, adding that during the trio’s meeting the next day Dorso said he wouldn’t tell a soul about the incident.

So how did police catch the suspects?

  • Investigators found a cellphone that morning belonging to Hannum, the station said.
  • When police turned on the phone, they told WFSB there was a text message that stated, “Hi I am the owner of this iPhone, please call me to be returned.”

  • Police then traced the phone to Rottjer, the station said, adding that photos on the phone as well as cellphone clips of the fight and surveillance video matched.

What did Rottjer allegedly tell police?

  • “I did it,” Rottjer allegedly said during his interview with police, WFSB reported. “I threw him over the bridge.”
  • Rottjer told police he started drinking at 4:30 that afternoon and was drunk by the end of the night, the station said, citing the arrest warrant.
  • Rottjer also said he felt the victim disrespected his girlfriend, which led to the fight, WFSB reported.
  • Hannum lied to detectives about the incident, police told the station, adding that she told authorities the morning of the incident she didn’t know anything about someone being thrown off the bridge.

What charges are the suspects facing?

  • Rottjer was charged with criminal attempt at murder, first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment, WFSB reported, adding that he’s being held on a $250,000 bond.
  • Dorso was charged with third-degree assault and released on a promise to appear in court, the station said.

  • Hannum was charged with interfering with an officer and released on a $1,000 bond, WFSB reported.
  • Dorso and Hannum are scheduled to appear in court Dec. 22 in Derby, the station added.

NO CHANCES: Congregation Takes Active Shooter Training

A Christian congregation in New Jersey is taking no chances.

In the aftermath of Sutherland Springs, Texas, where a shooter opened fire on worshipping Christians, murdering 26 people and becoming one of the worst mass shootings in a house of worship, Bethel Church in Blackwood is now hosting seminars to educate their congregants on what to do in case of a similar scenario.

“I think that perhaps churches were something that people felt safe in and they should,” said Gloucester Township Chief of Police Harry Earle. “I think with some of the events that have happened it’s made them feel a little bit vulnerable.”

Christian pastors even traveled from out of state to attend the seminar. Pastor Joyce Warrington of Dover, Delaware, said she owed it to her congregation.

“I am very encouraged because the tools they are giving us, I can take that back home to my chief of police and I want him to start a program in our city,” she said.

The main lesson taught in the seminar, endorsed by police, is the “Run, Hide, Fight” principle. Here’s how CBS News summarized it:

Law Enforcement advised that if a deadly situation unfolds, first RUN if you can:

– Don’t let the indecision of others slow you down.

– Run away in a zig-zag pattern in order to cut down on a shooter’s accuracy.

– Once outside and safe, warn others nearby of the danger.

– Call police and be descriptive.

If you can’t run, HIDE:

– Act quickly and quietly.

– Silence your phone.

– Lock doors if able.

– Make a barricade out of furniture.

As a last resort, FIGHT:

– Act with aggression.

– Throw things at the gunman and yell.

– Improvise weapons such as scissors or a fire extinguisher.

– Commit to taking down the shooter no matter what.

– Choose to survive.

Other congregations across the country have taken similar steps to secure their followers’ safety. Fox News reported just last week of an Indiana congregation: “We’ve got to be prepared for every situation,” Ben Smith, an assistant pastor at the church and the event’s organizer, told FOX59. “We don’t know what’s going to happen.”
