Liberal MSM Gleefully Reports that Markets Fall for 2nd Day in a Row=> Now Only Up 42% Since 2016 Election!

Guest post by Joe Hoft

After two days of stock market losses the MSM is happily announcing that the market is falling.  The market is down 540 points over the past two days.  But overall the Dow is up over 42% and more than 7,700 points since the 2016 election!

Today the Dow was down 362 points and 540 over the past 2 days.  This is perhaps the worst 2 days in the markets since President Trump was elected President.  Left wing pundits gleefully shared the news.

But what the MSM is not telling you is that the markets since the 2016 election are on fire.  This month alone the markets are up more than 1,300 points!  The markets stood at 24,719 on December 31, 2017, and today they landed at 26,076.

President Trump gave a speech last week at Devos to world government, academic and business leaders at the World Economic Forum.  He stated in his speech that the US stock markets are up due to his policies and programs where the markets would be down by the opposite amount had Hillary won!

President Trump is right. He stated that US markets are up by nearly 50% since his election.  (The Dow is up 42% since the 2016 election as of today.)  He also stated that the markets have hit 84 all time highs since the election.  He actually understated the correct amount.  As of today, with the Dow reaching another all time high, the Dow reached its 99th all time high since the election.

President Trump’s stock markets hit many records in his first year in office as noted in many previous posts here at TGP.  The stock market on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, says it all. On that day the Dow broke 26,000 points for the first time in its history.  As a result the Dow broke the record for the fastest 500, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, 6,000 and 7,000 point increases between major milestones in the history of the Dow.  All of these increases occurred since Donald Trump was elected President.  Yesterday the Dow landed at 26,392.

The President also stated in a question and answer period that he believes that if Hillary Clinton would have won the Presidency that the markets would be down nearly 50% because of the business suffocating policies of the Obama Administration that the Hillary team was sure to continue.

Next month Americans will receive more money in their checks due to lower taxes from the Trump Tax Cut law just passed. As time goes by, Americans will see more and more the blessing that President Trump won the 2016 election.  The markets are actually doing very well.  Thanks to President Trump.

EPIC! GOP Rep. Demanding Illegals Be Arrested At SOTU Fires KILL SHOT At RINO Jeff Flake

“Today, Congressman Paul Gosar contacted the U.S. Capitol Police, as well as Attorney General Jeff Sessions, asking they consider checking identification of all attending the State of the Union address and arresting any illegal aliens in attendance,” tweeted the Arizona Republican.

“Additionally, Congressman Gosar asked that they arrest those using fraudulent social security numbers and identification to pass through security,” Gosar added.

Various Democrat lawmakers are bringing DREAMers as guests to the State of the Union.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, of California, and more than two dozen Democrats have invited so-called “DREAMers,” whose status has been in jeopardy since the Trump administration announced it would end legal protections that former president Barack Obama established under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

So far, a dozen House members are heeding calls from the progressive base to boycott Trump’s address. But most Democrats will use the event and their guest selections to highlight concerns about immigration, health, gun violence prevention and sexual misconduct. […]

Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) attempted to take a shot at Rep. Gosar’s demand, tweeting, “This is why we can’t have nice things…”

Rep. Gosar promptly fired a kill shot at Flake, tweeting, “This is why you got forced out of office.”

Ouch!

In a stunning announcement last October, Flake announced he would not seek re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2018.

In a statement to The Arizona Republic before the announcement, Flake admitted, “there may not be a place for a Republican like me in the current Republican climate or the current Republican Party.”

Hilarious! Disgraced Brian Williams Claims: ‘We Will Fact Check’ State of the Union

If there’s someone you don’t want doing your fact checking, it’s probably Brian Williams. Yet, the disgraced ex-Nightly News anchor began MSNBC’s State of the Union coverage on Tuesday by triumphantly asserting, “We will fact check” Donald Trump’s State of the Union claims.

Excitedly opening the program, Williams cheered, “As I said, our entire team of correspondents will analyze what we see and hear. We’ll fact check it on the fly, as well.” Again, this is the guy who falsely said he was shot down in Iraq 2003, who told tales about seeing dead bodies while covering Hurricane Katrina. Someone at NBC should have been fact checking Williams.

Williams marveled, “On what was day 376 of the Trump administration, tonight president Donald Trump after shattering so many of the norms of the modern presidency tonight gets to enjoy perhaps the most presidential backdrop of them all: A joint session of Congress.”

Who else is fact checking Trump’s speech? Why, it’s liberal MSNBC journalist Ari Melber. He bragged that the network’s “very special coverage starts at 8:00 P.M. I will also be a part of that, fact checking the speech afterwards.”

In other words, the fact checking will be done by a man known for making stuff up and a liberal host. Typical MSNBC.

On FBN’s After the Bell, Howard Kurtz blamed others for the scrutiny of journalistic fact checking: “I think in the pre-Twitter age, before the toxicity of social media and fact checking, people thought, ‘Wow, a fact checker says it.’ Now, nobody even believes the fact checkers.”

To see a partial transcript, click on the expand button below:

MSNBC’s State of the Union coverage
1/30/18

5:59pm ET

ARI MELBER: As for our special coverage it, well, it continues with MSNBC all night. The very  special coverage starts at 8:00 P.M. I will also be a part of that, fact checking the speech afterwards. More importantly right now it’s Hardball with Chris Matthews.

8:01pm ET

BRIAN WILLIAMS: And good evening. On what was day 376 of the Trump administration, tonight president Donald Trump after shattering so many of the norms of the modern presidency tonight gets to enjoy perhaps the most presidential backdrop of them all: A joint session of Congress.

8:02pm ET

BRIAN WILLIAMS:  We will forego introductions and just say good evening. Great to have you here with us. We’re in for several hours of coverage here with our immediate family, extended family, all of our correspondents. We have gathered family members that you know, Chris Matthews is here. Host of Hardball. Nicolle Wallace is here it, host of Deadline: White House and former White House communications director under George W. Bush. Pulitzer Prize winning columnist for the Washington Post Eugene Robinson is here. We’ll be joined by other friends here tonight. As I said, our entire team of correspondents will analyze what we see and hear. We’ll fact check it on the fly, as well. And before we get too far down the road, it occurs to me everything we see tonight is against a backdrop that we can’t see, a possible government shutdown in nine days time.

FIGURES. Democrats SIT ON THEIR BUTTS When President Trump Says We “Proudly Stand for the National Anthem” (VIDEO)

Tuesday night at the State of the Union Address President Trump honored Preston Sharp who started a movement and organized the placement of more than 40,000 American flags and red carnations on soldiers’ graves.

The President then told the American audience that we all “proudly stand for the National Anthem.”

Well, everyone but Democrats.

They all sat on their butts.

The Urgent Case for Legislation against Facebook and Google

Having been one of the early targets of social media censorship on Facebook, YouTube et al, I have advocated for anti-trust action against these bullying behemoths. It is good to see establishment outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and National Review coming to the same conclusion, or at least asking the same questions.

Just this week, Facebook launched its latest of many attacks on my news site, the Geller Report. It labeled my site as “spam” and removed every Geller Report post — thousands upon thousands of them, going back years – from Facebook. It also blocked any Facebook member from sharing links to the Geller Report. The ramping up of the shutting-down of sites like mine is neither random nor personal. The timing is telling. The left is gearing up for the 2018 midterm elections, and they mean to shut down whatever outlet or voice that helped elect President Trump, the greatest upset in left-wing history.

In fighting this shutdown, we had to go back to the drawing board in our lawsuit against these social media giants. The basis of our suit was challenging Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA) under the First Amendment, which provides immunity from lawsuits to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, thereby permitting these social media giants to engage in government-sanctioned censorship and discriminatory business practices free from legal challenge.

Facebook and Google take in roughly half of all Internet ad revenue. According to the Wall Street Journal:

In the U.S., Alphabet Inc.’s Google drives 89% of internet search; 95% of young adults on the internet use a Facebook Inc. product; and Amazon.com Inc. now accounts for 75% of electronic book sales. Those firms that aren’t monopolists are duopolists: Google and Facebook absorbed 63% of online ad spending last year; Google and Apple Inc. provide 99% of mobile phone operating systems; while Apple and Microsoft Corp. supply 95% of desktop operating systems.

Both companies routinely censor and spy on their customers, “massaging everything from the daily news to what we should buy.” In the last century, the telephone was our “computer,” and Ma Bell was how we communicated. That said, would the American people (or the government) have tolerated AT&T spying on our phone calls and then pulling our communication privileges if we expressed dissenting opinions? That is exactly what we are suffering today.

Ma Bell was broken up by the government, albeit for different reasons. But it can and should be done.

It’s not a little ironic that, according to Breitbart:

AT&T has called for an “Internet Bill of Rights” and argued that Facebook and Google should also be subjected to rules that would prevent unfair censorship on their platforms.

AT&T, one of the largest telecommunications companies, called for Congress to enact an “Internet Bill of Rights” which would subject Facebook, Google, and other content providers to rules that would prevent unfair censorship on Internet Service Providers (ISPs) such as Comcast or AT&T as well as content providers such as Facebook and Google.

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson wrote, “Congressional action is needed to establish an ‘Internet Bill of Rights’ that applies to all internet companies and guarantees neutrality, transparency, openness, non-discrimination and privacy protection for all internet users.”

Stephenson posted the ad in the New York Times, Washington Post, and other national news outlets on Wednesday.

We must get behind this — all of us — and fast. Because what is happening is being engineered at the government level. A chief officer from a major American communications company went to the terror state of Pakistan to assure the Pakistani government that Facebook would adhere to the sharia. The commitment was given by Vice President of Facebook Joel Kaplan, who called on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. “Facebook has reiterated its commitment to keep the platform safe and promote values that are in congruence with its community standards.”

Why the block? Because under Islamic law, you cannot criticize Islam. Facebook adhering to the most extreme and brutal ideology on the face of the earth should trouble all of us, because Mark Zuckerberg has immense power. He controls the flow of information.

Early last year, I wrote: “The US government has used anti-trust laws to break up monopolies. They ought to break up Facebook. Section 2 of the Sherman Act highlights particular results deemed anticompetitive by nature and prohibits actions that ‘shall monopolize, or attempt to monopolize, or combine or conspire with any other person or persons, to monopolize any part of the trade or commerce among the several States, or with foreign nations.’ Couldn’t the same be applied to information? The United States government took down Standard Oil, Alcoa, Northern Securities, the American Tobacco Company and many others without nearly the power that Facebook has.”

NRO has come to that same conclusion:

Tech companies such as Google and Facebook are also utilities of sorts that provide essential services. They depend on the free use of public airwaves. Yet they are subject to little oversight; they simply make up their own rules as they go along. Antitrust laws prohibit one corporation from unfairly devouring its competition, capturing most of its market, and then price-gouging as it sees fit without fear of competition. Google has all but destroyed its search-engine competitors in the same manner that Facebook has driven out competing social media.

Clearly Mark Zuckerberg, Sergey Brin, Eric Schmidt, and Jeff Bezos are contemporary “robber barons.” So why are they not smeared, defamed, and reviled like the robber barons of yesteryear? Says NRO:

Why are huge tech companies seemingly exempt from the rules that older corporations must follow? First, their CEOs wisely cultivate the image of hipsters. The public sees them more as aging teenagers in T-shirts, turtlenecks, and flip-flops than as updated versions of J. P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, or other robber barons of the past. Second, the tech industry’s hierarchy is politically progressive.

In brilliant marketing fashion, the Internet, laptops, tablets, and smartphones have meshed with the hip youth culture of music, television, the movies, universities, and fashion. Think Woodstock rather than Wall Street. Corporate spokesmen at companies such as Twitter and YouTube brag about their social awareness, especially on issues such as radical environmentalism, identity politics, and feminism. Given that the regulatory deep state is mostly a liberal enterprise, the tech industry is seen as an ally of federal bureaucrats and regulators. Think more of Hollywood, the media, and universities than Exxon, General Motors, Koch Industries, and Philip Morris.

The groovy t-shirt-turtleneck vibe may keep the great unwashed under their spell, but it’s the shared political ideology with the left that keeps these corporate managers free from accountability. The WSJ writes that antitrust regulators have a narrow test: Does their size leave consumers worse off? Surmising that if that’s the test, “there isn’t a clear case for going after big tech.”

I disagree. The consumer is far worse off. If we are not free to speak and think in what is today’s Gutenberg press, than we could not be worse off.

Mother of girl murdered by MS-13 gang to attend the State of the Union as guest of the president

Evelyn Rodriguez, whose daughter’s violent death shed light on gang violence in the U.S., will attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address Tuesday night as a guest of the White House.

“I feel very honored that I was invited,” Rodriguez said. “It’s a great privilege.”

What happened?

Federal authorities said that in September 2016 four members of Mara Salvatrucha, better known in the U.S. as MS-13, bludgeoned Rodriguez’s 16-year-old daughter, Kayla Cuevas, with baseball bats and a machete. Law enforcement officers said gang members also murdered Cuevas’s best friend, Nisa Mickens, who was one day from her 16th birthday.

Three of the four suspects charged in the murder of the girls were in the country illegally, according to authorities.

Rodriguez spoke with the New York Times from her home in Brentwood, Long Island, Sunday before boarding a plane to Washington, D.C. When asked about immigration, she remained ambiguous. “Immigration is not my forte,” she said. “What I’ve been saying from Day 1: Everybody has the right for the American dream and that should be there for them. They’re good people, they give back to the community.”

“I want [Trump] to ensure that we’re going to get the proper funding for the resources for our kids,” Rodriguez said. “I’m not here for anybody’s political gain. I just want what’s right to be done. Everybody should put their political agenda aside and think about what’s going on in our country.”

Honoring her daughter’s legacy

Though Rodriguez admits that she is quite nervous, she says she is going to Washington to honor her daughter’s legacy.

“She’s opening more doors for me, where one door shuts, two doors open,” she said of Kayla. “Who would have thought that President Trump would speak with me?”

“I’m a real person,” she added. “I’m not out for any type of gain for myself, it’s always been for the kids.”

Since January 2016, the gang has been blamed for 25 killings on Long Island, and Trump has blamed the violence on lax immigration policies.

The girls’ deaths exposed a part of Suffolk County plagued by gang violence, specifically MS-13. Most of the gang members are from El Salvador, which is known to be one of the world′s most violent countries. Its capital, San Salvador, was the most murderous city in both 2015 and 2016. Currently, El Salvador has the seventh highest murder rate in the world.

REPORT: Trump Owned McCabe in the Most Savage and Glorious Way Possible

REPORT: Trump Owned McCabe in the Most Savage and Glorious Way Possible

President Donald Trump reportedly owned then-acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe in a phone call following the firing of James Comey, savagely telling him that he should ask his wife how it felt to be a loser.

FILE PHOTO: FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe pauses while testifying before a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) in Washington, U.S., June 7, 2017. REUTERS/Kevin Lamarque/Files

Jill McCabe, the wife of the man who was in charge of the investigation into Trump’s supposed Moscow ties, accepted a $467,000 donation from an ally of Trump’s presidential rival, Hillary Clinton, while running for Senate in 2015.

The funding came from Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and was widely seen as inappropriate.

The savage dig reportedly came during a phone call from Trump to McCabe in which he demanded to know why James Comey was allowed to fly back to DC in an FBI airplane, despite being fired.

In response, McCabe said that while he hadn’t authorized it, he would have if Comey asked. This reportedly lead to Trump blasting the former FBI head.

The Hill reports:

Trump fell silent before lashing out at McCabe and telling him to ask his wife what it felt like to be a loser, according to NBC.

The FBI head replied, “OK, sir,” before Trump ended the call.

Last year, Senator Chuck Grassley sent a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein about his concerns over McCabe’s financial ties to McAuliffe.

“Public reports of his meeting with a longtime Clinton and Democrat party fundraiser, Governor Terry McAuliffe [Va.], and his wife’s subsequent campaign for public office being substantially funded by McAuliffe’s organization raise serious questions about his ability to appear impartial,” Grassley wrote in the letter.

Grassley also asserted that McCabe is under investigation by the Department of Justice’s inspector general “for failing to recuse himself from the Clinton investigation due to his meeting with McAuliffe.”

“The financial and political links between Mr. McCabe and Gov. McAuliffe raise concerns about the appearance of impartiality in the course of not only the Clinton investigation, but the reported McAuliffe investigation, and the ongoing investigation of alleged ties between associates of Mr. Trump and Russia,” Grassley continued.

Jay-Z attacked Trump in a CNN interview — Trump hit back with this one fact

Comments made by rapper Jay-Z to Van Jones on CNN prompted a response from President Donald Trump on Twitter on Sunday.

Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) discussed a variety of topics on Jones’ show, including Trump’s controversial immigration comments and whether the president’s policies make it okay for him to speak harshly about minorities.

Here’s part of the exchange:

Jones: “Does he have a point, that maybe the Democrats have been giving us good lip service but no jobs? Maybe he’s going to say terrible things but put money in our pockets. Does that make him a good leader?”

Jay-Z: “No, because it’s not about money at the end of the day. Money doesn’t equate to happiness. It doesn’t. That’s missing the whole point. You treat people like human beings. That’s the main point. It goes back to the whole thing: ‘Treat me really bad and pay me well.’ It’s not going to lead to happiness, it’s going to lead to, again, the same thing. Everyone’s going to be sick.”

The rapper said the act of addressing racism on the surface rather than digging deep and fixing the source of the problem as leading to Trump’s presidency.

“You don’t take the trash out. You keep spraying whatever over it to make it acceptable and then, you know, as those things grow, then you create a superbug. And then now we have Donald Trump, the superbug,” he said.

Jay-Z hinted a somewhat sympathetic view of Trump near the end of the interview, saying he believed something from Trump’s past made him the way he is now.

“Donald Trump is a human being too,” Jay-Z said. “Somewhere along his lineage, something happened to him. Something happened to him and he’s in pain and he’s expressing it in this sort of way.”

Trump responded to Jay-Z’s comments on Twitter.

“Somebody please inform Jay-Z that because of my policies, Black Unemployment has just been reported to be at the LOWEST RATE EVER RECORDED!” Trump tweeted.

Black unemployment dropped to 6.9 percent in December, beating the previous low of 7 percent in April 2000.

Jay-Z was aware of the unemployment rate, as Jones asked him about it during the Saturday interview.

Stunning=> FBI “Lost All” of McCabe Text Messages Before He Was ‘Removed’ from Agency – Refused to Turn Them Over – A Week Before He is “Removed” from FBI

The world’s premier intelligence agency just lost another batch of text messages!
What a coincidence!

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton joined Judge Jeanine Pirro on her FOX News program Saturday night.

Tom Fitton told Judge Jeanine how difficult it was dealing with the Jeff Sessions Justice Department.

Then Tom Fitton dropped this bomb–

The FBI will not turn over Deputy Director Andrew McCabe‘s text messages!

Andrew McCabe was famously mentioned in a Peter Strzok – Lisa Page text message discussing an “insurance policy” against a Donald Trump presidency.

The FBI told Judicial Watch they can’t find McCabe’s text messages!

Tom Fitton: We sued back in September for the text messages of the number two at the FBI, Andrew McCabe. And they just told us this week, they gave us everything they’re going to give us, and not one text message was turned over. They lost all of Andrew McCabe’s text messages! I don’t believe it. There’s still gamesmanship going on.

Via Judge Jeanine:

Less than a week later Andrew McCabe was “removed” from his post at the FBI.

This comes the day after Director Wray visited Capitol Hill to view the secret House Intelligence Committee FISA memo.

It was a sudden “removal” of Wray from the FBI.
And the FBI is hiding his text messages from a watchdog group!

This story looks worse and worse for the Deep State FBI.
