Bill Nye Gets Dealt Blistering Fact-Check by an Actual Scientist

We are all probably watching the weather developments in the Carolinas — big storms tend to make us sit up and pay attention, no matter where we are.

But something else I hope you have also paid attention to are the left’s psychotic claims that President Donald Trump is to blame for the climate change that supposedly caused Hurricane Florence.

Well, facts are funny things: They have a pesky way of collapsing the liberal narrative.

On Friday, Tucker Carlson interviewed Former NASA scientist Dr. Roy Spencer, who blew the liberal climate change theories out of the water.

In the interview, Dr. Spencer threw cold water all over Bill Nye the Science Guy’s statements that Hurricane Florence is caused by climate change.

TRENDING: Trump Rails Against ‘Fake News Media’ for Ignoring One of Obama’s Biggest Blunders

Dr Spencer acknowledges the earth has gotten warmer, but he doesn’t think the change in temperature is due to climate change. He believes it’s part of the earth’s natural weather cycles. And Bill Nye isn’t going to like Spencer’s scientific data that supports his findings.

Dr Spencer explains to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson: “Well, it has gotten warmer as you said, since the 1950s there has been a warming trend, but what we haven’t seen in terns of any long term weather measurements is whether there’s been any change in severe weather. There hasn’t been any increase in hurricanes. That’s on a global basis in the United States.”

“The frequency of hits of the United States by major hurricanes has gone down by 50 percent since the 1930s and 1940s. There’s been no increase in droughts, no increase in floods. Tornados are down but still weather varies a lot especially hurricanes, year to year, decade to decade.”

Do you think Bill Nye the Science Guy is qualified to talk about climate change?

“So there is a huge amount of variability, OK, some stall, produce a bunch of rain. Certainly North Carolina is going to have a major flooding disaster, but this is what Mother Nature does naturally, and if there’s a human influence there you wouldn’t know it because there’s so much natural variability,” said Dr. Spencer.

Enter common sense as Carlson asks the obvious question as to why people are claiming global warming is to blame for hurricanes if the data doesn’t support it?

Dr. Spencer’s refreshingly candid remarks might just floor the global warming fanatics. It appears he believes as I do, that they are just saying “stupid things.”

“I don’t know, why do people like The Washington Post say such stupid things? It’s because the people who are informing us in the media about global warming are people like Al Gore, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Neil deGrasse Tyson, people that don’t know anything about atmospheric science,” he said.

Dr. Spencer also responded to Carlson’s challenge of Nye’s qualifications as a scientist. “He’s not a trained scientist. I believe he’s an engineer of some sort.”

“Plus he has a widely viewed YouTube video called ‘Climate 101’ where he faked an experiment,” Spencer added.

Liberals would do well to pay attention when choosing to follow the lead of their so-called experts.

On Tuesday, an article by The Washington Post accused President Trump of being “complicit” in facilitating global warming.

“Yet when it comes to extreme weather, Mr. Trump is complicit. He plays down humans’ role in increasing the risks, and he continues to dismantle efforts to address those risks. It is hard to attribute any single weather event to climate change. But there is no reasonable doubt that humans are priming the Earth’s systems to produce disasters.”

On Wednesday, Bill Nye the Science Guy told MSNBC that Florence was the direct result of climate change: “Now I look forward of course to all the hate tweets. It’s going to be great, about a guy who took a lot of physics can’t possibly read a graph. I got all that. But everybody, this is not in anybody’s best interests to continue to deny climate change.”

Hurricane season is just beginning and from the looks of things it’s going to be a long one. And I have no doubt there will be more “stupid” discourse from liberals about climate change and why the president is responsible for it.

Maybe the bright side in this discussion is that more real scientific experts are coming forward with hard facts that will continue to weaken the liberal global warming narrative.

‘Prepare To Die:’ Leftists in Complete Frenzy After Learning Trump Will Be Able To Message All Americans

If you’re a cell phone owner — and I’m assuming that applies to most of you in 2018 — you’ve probably received one of those alerts on your phone about an abducted child or a possible weather emergency, or just the usual test message.

Well, now FEMA is about to conduct a national test of part of their alert system in which the president can notify the American people in the event of an emergency, which is something that has to be pretty uncontroversial, right? I mean, there’s absolutely no way that this could possibly be problematic.

Or, as the editor of the hyper-left website Talking Points Memo put it: “Prepare to die.”

Sounds reasonable enough.

So, here’s the occasion that has liberals all in a tizzy: “The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on September 20, 2018,” the agency announced via a release.

TRENDING: Taco Bell Employee Pays the Price After Refusing To Serve English-Speaking Customer

“The WEA portion of the test commences at 2:18 p.m. EDT, and the EAS portion follows at 2:20 p.m. EDT. The test will assess the operational readiness of the infrastructure for distribution of a national message and determine whether improvements are needed.”

So far, so normal. The part they don’t like? “The EAS is a national public warning system that provides the President with the communications capability to address the nation during a national emergency,” the release reads.

“The test is made available to EAS participants (i.e., radio and television broadcasters, cable systems, satellite radio and television providers, and wireline video providers) and is scheduled to last approximately one minute. The test message will be similar to regular monthly EAS test messages with which the public is familiar.”

We’re going to warn you that there’s some profanity ahead, because apparently nobody on the left can talk about the president without having to resort to swear words. Reader discretion is advised.

Do you think that this was a massive overreaction?

Josh Marshall, who runs Talking Points Memo, probably had the archetypal response:

Not an overreaction at all. But the overreaction to the overreaction was — well, predictable.

Oh, see, “godsd******.” Just so we know she’s polytheist or what-have-you. That’s some next-level #Resistance right there.

At least one respondent evinced some sanity:

Exactly. This isn’t tweeting or anything like that. It’s a test message for the event of an emergency. The idea that Trump is going to send out something like “WARNING: I’m the best at being president and you shouldn’t vote for anyone but me” during the 2020 campaign is so beyond absurd at face value that I question why anyone would believe it.

Then again, there are so many things I question why so many on the left would believe in the first place regarding Trump. I suppose I shouldn’t be shocked that they think he’s going to use the new millennium version of the Emergency Broadcast System as his own personal Twitter. Good grief, indeed.

Obama demonizing Trump and Republican voters coast to coast

When former President Barack Obama hits the campaign trail, he hits the campaign trail. He delivered speeches in three different states in the span of a week. It began with a zingy critique of the Trump presidency in California. The second stop was the University of Illinois and he finished up the week with a campaign rally for the Democrat candidates running for governor and lt. governor in Ohio.

In California, he used the example of the “arc of history” – the push and pull in politics. Those who promised hope and those who promote fear, for example. He referenced people in power trying to divide the country. The irony is lost on his swooning audience.

During his speech at the University of Illinois Obama said that Republicans are embracing demagoguing and division. He characterized the rise of President Trump as not the cause of current divisions but a symptom of the divisions brought to light by frustrations with politicians that have led to this time. As I said before, there is no sense of irony noted in the audience’s reaction, though this crowd was much more subdued than the Californians. That probably had to do with the difference in venues more than anything else.

So we made progress, but — and this is the truth — my administration couldn’t reverse forty-year trends in only eight years, especially once Republicans took over the House of Representatives in and decided to block everything we did, even things they used to support.

In Ohio, doing some campaign stumping for Richard Cordray (former Obama administration’s Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) running for Governor of Ohio and his female running mate, Obama reverted to mocking Republicans for “being mad”, even those in office who won their elections. They don’t seem happy, he said.

“Even the folks who won don’t seem happy. Have you noticed that?” Obama told the Cleveland crowd, decrying the country’s “broken” politics. Republicans won the presidency, House and Senate, he said, but “they’re still mad, which is interesting.”

Cordray was appreciative of Obama being there but from clips I’ve seen, it looks like his running mate is the one most outwardly excited. She continued to break into applause as Cordray remained more reserved in his reaction to Obama’s words. He was a fan of the arc of the universe bit.

Anyway, all of this is a strong reminder of the eight years of the Obama administration. I certainly have not missed the virtue-signaling, sanctimonious, ego-centric speeches from the former president. I think that Obama is hitting the campaign trail now because he wants to help get out the vote for Democrats in November and allow them to take back control of the House, if not the Senate. History will not be kind to Barack Obama, however, as he decimated his own party while he was at the helm in the White House.

President Trump is laying waste to any legacy that Barack Obama thinks he has and Trump has done this in less than two years time. Obama is trying to stop the bleeding. He is particularly raw about Trump’s acknowledging economic successes, especially the all-time records being set across the board thanks to his conservative policies put into action. He’s essentially saying to Trump, “You didn’t build that.”

The former president also dinged Republicans in Congress for taking too much credit for the U.S. recovery, and for not changing their message after years of being angry and critical when they were out of power and the economy was growing..

“The Republicans won the House, they won the Senate. They’re still mad,” he said. “Which is interesting. So just remember when you hear about these folks bragging about this economic period, just remember when it started.”

Yeah, “it started” but his administration oversaw the slowest economic recovery since World War II. His administration built up numbers in the failure column – the highest number of American on assistance, lowest workforce participation percentage of working age Americans, small businesses were folding due to the economic aftershock of Obamacare, over-regulation stifled the entrepreneurial class to name a few. Barack Obama had no experience in the business world and the country suffered for that. His Ivory Tower aspirations didn’t translate into reality. All throughout that time, he repeated his mantra that it was the new normal and we’d just have to accept it. How was he promoting hope if the bar for measuring success continually lowered? Where is the aspiration in being told to just suck it up and accept things as they are?

I do not remember a more divisive president in my lifetime. From the time he entered office until the time he left, conservatives were labeled as racist if we disagreed with his policies, he called a ‘beer summit’ when a friend of his – a black professor in Massachusetts – had a dust-up with a police officer while clearly taking his friend’s side, and he sent members of his administration, including his Attorney General to the funeral of a young black man shot after threatening a police officer. If Obama was so concerned about norms, he would never have butted into individual cases while he was president.

Obama criticized America as he toured the world on his frequent apology tours. He went so far as to claim that “Muslim outreach” was a priority for NASA.  He led from behind on foreign policy.

His own claim to fame was the ramming through of Obamacare on a one-party vote – blowing up 1/6 of our economy – and it has been a disaster. Insurance premiums rose, doctors declined to accept it, and patients lost their doctors. Obama’s claims about Obamacare earned the title of the biggest lie of the year. Finally, Republicans and President Trump have begun to chisel it apart, beginning with ending the individual mandate. Sadly, Republicans have failed to honor their campaign promises to repeal and replace Obamacare. If Democrats gain control of Congress they will begin the battle for single-payer health care, probably calling it Medicaid for All.

Now Barack Obama is campaigning as though he was the unifier-in-chief. He is demonizing the sitting president and Republican voters from coast to coast as he claims Republicans are demonizing others. Remember the good old days when former presidents stepped aside and refrained from criticizing their successor?

For many years I thought that Jimmy Carter was the worst president of my lifetime. He has now been replaced by Barack Obama. That is his legacy as far as I’m concerned.

Questions, conspiracy theories uncorked amid mysterious closure of Sunspot Observatory in New Mexico

Sunspot Observatory in New Mexico was closed and evacuated on Sept. 6 following a “security risk” that has yet to be explained. Officials haven’t said much since then, employees have not been able to return, and that has led to questions and speculation.

“Nothing’s changed from last week,” Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, spokeswoman Shari Lifson told USA Today on Friday.

Other media issued reports that read like satire.

“I can tell you it definitely wasn’t aliens,” a spokeswoman for the National Solar Observatory told the Washington Post.

New Mexico has long been linked to reports of secretive military testing and conspiracy theories about UFOs and aliens.

What is the facility?

The facility is a part of the National Solar Observatory and AURA maintains it, according to the report. The observatory sits high in the Sacramento Mountains. The nearest city is Alamogordo located about one hour away at the base of the mountains.

“Last Thursday, we got a phone call in the morning from AURA who told us to say that they were temporarily evacuating the site and asked us to evacuate our people,” Sunspot Solar Observatory director R.T. James McAteer told the news outlet. “So, I called our people up and asked them to leave in a very sensible and calm manner and locked everything up. We’ve been out of there since Thursday morning.”

When will things return to normal?

There is no indication of when, or if, evacuations will be lifted and people can return.

McAteer, a professor of astronomy at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, told the news outlet the Sunspot Solar Observatory is run by a group of universities that provide funding to operate the telescope and the visitor’s center.

Employees work in both the telescope area and in the visitor’s center, he said.

Four employees at Sunspot were evacuated Sept. 6, along with five or six employees of AURA, according to the report. Employees in the U.S. Postal Service’s Sunspot office were also evacuated, although the number was not known.

Additionally, about 12 to 15 residents who were evacuated, McAteer said.

“The whole site was evacuated,” he told USA Today.

Could it be related to mercury?

The Richard B. Dunn Solar Telescope rotates on a mercury float bearing at the top of the tower. But McAteer emphasized that the mercury did not lead to the closure.

“There’s no mercury incident. That’s a completely different set of protocols that would not have involved them locking all the doors,” McAteer told USA Today. “We have a very regular maintenance routine. There is no cause for concern there.”

Initial media reports stated that the FBI was involved in the shutdown, which has not been confirmed by Observatory officials, according to reports.

Hurricane Florence response team member removed for flashing ‘offensive’ OK hand signal on live TV

A member of the Hurricane Florence response team was “removed” by the U.S. Coast Guard after he flashed the OK hand signal in the background of a live television news report.

The unidentified man briefly looked into the camera and then looked away and made the gesture over his shoulder.

Outrage followed on social media.

Some said it was inappropriate simply because of the seriousness of the hurricane. Others were offended because they connect the gesture to President Donald Trump and conservatives. Some leftists have claimed the OK sign is a signal of “white power.”

What was the context?

It happened in the background of a live MSNBC interview with Sector Charleston Commanding Officer Capt. John Reed, according to published reports. He was giving an update on the Coast Guard’s response to Hurricane Florence.

Social media users called for the firing of the man who made the signal. They claim it is a white power hate symbol. The government agency quickly responded and distanced itself.

“We are aware of the offensive video on twitter – the Coast Guard has identified the member and removed him from the response. His actions do not reflect those of the United States Coast Guard,” the agency tweeted.

The Coast Guard also issued a statement saying the incident was a “frustrating distraction” during a hurricane that could impact more than 10 million people in the Southeast region of the nation.

“This is a frustrating distraction for the Coast Guard during our hurricane response,” the statement read. “This person has been removed from the response pending an investigation. These types of actions are not reflective of the core values of the Coast Guard.”

At last count, the storm has caused seven deaths and left more than 1 million people without power.

What does the gesture really mean?

There seems to be much confusion over whether the OK hand signal is truly a hate symbol. The Anti-Defamation League, for example, has deemed that it is not.

“Has the simple thumb-and-forefinger ‘OK’ hand gesture become a white supremacist hand sign? Well, no, it hasn’t, but you are likely to hear just the opposite from social media, thanks to the latest hoax from members of notorious website 4chan,” stated a post on the anti-racism group’s website.

In other circles, the hand signal is viewed as an occult representation of 666 or the Antichrist. It also can carry a vulgar connotation in some overseas cultures. The most benign meaning of the gesture is that it simply communicates everything is OK or good.

NEW YORK SLIMES: Paper Targets Nikki Haley For Expensive Curtains At State Department – Which Were Bought By Obama Admin

NEW YORK SLIMES: Paper Targets Nikki Haley For Expensive Curtains At State Department – Which Were Bought By Obama Admin

by Aleister
September 14, 2018

The New York Times is running an incredibly deceptive story which was clearly meant to be a hit piece on UN Ambassador Nikki Haley. This was low and dishonest even for them.

Take a look at the story:

State Department Spent $52,701 on Curtains for Nikki Haley’s Residence

The State Department spent $52,701 last year buying customized and mechanized curtains for the picture windows in Nikki R. Haley’s official residence as ambassador to the United Nations, just as the department was undergoing deep budget cuts and had frozen hiring.

The residence, in a new building on First Avenue, has spectacular views, and Ms. Haley is the first ambassador to live in it.

Four paragraphs later, we get this:

A spokesman for Ms. Haley said plans to buy the curtains were made in 2016, during the Obama administration. Ms. Haley had no say in the purchase, he said.

Even Yashar Ali, who writes for the left wing Huffington Post is calling out the Times for this:

And Aaron Blake of the liberal Washington Post:

It’s amazing that the NYTs hasn’t corrected the piece or taken it down. They have no shame.
