Book: Joe Biden in 1973 Lectured Cleveland on What Is ‘Good for the Negro’

Former Vice President Joe Biden lectured the City Club in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1973 about what he thought was “good for the Negro,” according to a new book from a prominent left-wing journalist.

The racially insensitive comments from Biden, a white man from Delaware who was at the time newly elected to the U.S. Senate, resurfaced, thanks to a new book from leftist journalist Ryan Grim of the Intercept. The book, We’ve Got People: From Jesse Jackson to AOC, the End of Big Money and the Rise of a Movement, has already landed a few other major blows, including on former President Barack Obama, regarding his “don’t ask, don’t tell” repeal legacy, but this revelation about Biden’s torrid history with race–as told from the left–is particularly damning for the current Democrat 2020 presidential primary front runner.

In a section explaining how Biden attempted to win back for Democrats white working class voters in the 1970s, Grim writes about the now former vice president’s controversial messaging–something that may come back to haunt him in 2020.

“Joe Biden, elected to the Senate in 1972, was a leading voice in the attempt to win back white working-class voters by showing them how tough Democrats could be against affirmative [action], school integration, and other priorities of the civil rights movement,” Grim writes. He added:

I do not buy the concept, popular in the ’60s, which said, “We have suppressed the black man for 300 years and the white man is now far ahead in the race for everything our society offers. In order to even the score, we must now give the black man a head start, or even hold the white man back, to even the race. I don’t buy that,” Biden told a Delaware weekly newspaper in 1975. “I don’t feel responsible for the sins of my father and grandfather.I feel responsible for what the situation is today, for the sins of my own generation. And I’ll be damned if I feel responsible to pay for what happened 300 years ago.”

In the next paragraph, Grim cites Biden’s speech in 1973 to the City Club in Cleveland, where the then-newly elected senator opined about what he thought is “good for the Negro.”

“In 1973, during a speech at the City Club in Cleveland, Biden told an audience that the Nixon-era resurgence of Republicans in the South was a good thing,” Grim writes:

“I think the two-party system,” he said, “although my Democratic colleagues won’t like my saying this, is good for the South and good for the Negro, good for the black in the South. Other than the fact that [southern Senators] still call me boy, I think they’ve changed their mind a little bit.”

Biden’s campaign spokesman, TJ Ducklo, has not replied to a request for comment from Breitbart News when asked if Biden still believes, as he expressed per Grim’s book, is “good for the Negro” and has not answered when asked about others raising the point that former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott had to resign for saying something similar.

Dave Johnson, a leftist activist who, according to his Twitter profile, supports Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Bernie Sanders of Vermont, as well as Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, and is a senior fellow at the left-wing group Campaign for America’s Future, notes that Lott had to resign for making similar comments to what was just unearthed in Grim’s book:

Interestingly, Johnson also points out, Lott has spoken favorably about Biden’s 2020 campaign:

“Joe will be able to perpetuate the image of Uncle Joe, and he is pleasant. He is qualified,” Lott said of Biden, asserting he is the only Democrat who stands a chance against President Donald Trump.

Ducklo, on Biden’s behalf, has not answered when asked if the former vice president has any thoughts on Lott’s favorable comments about him.

The unearthing in Grim’s book of Biden’s 1973 speech about what’s “good for the Negro” also comes in the wake of comments he made this week falsely attacking Breitbart News.

“Now the Breitbarts, the hard right and the rest of these folks out there, they’re legitimizing by their actions the kinds of things that are happening,” Biden said. “You saw what happened in the synagogue, anyway I won’t go into it all, but the bottom line is this: I think the worst thing that happened to the United States of America of late is this division, villianizing and talking down other people.”

Biden’s comments about Breitbart News are factually inaccurate. Breitbart News is a proudly pro-Jewish, pro-Israel website that fights, exposes, and condemns white supremacy and antisemitism. Former Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT), the 2000 Democrat vice presidential nominee, who also once was a Democrat presidential candidate, has spoken highly about Breitbart News.

“I know the positive pro-Israel record, pro-Semitic record — if you can call it that — certainly fair record of Breitbart when it comes to Israel and Jews, and I appreciate it, and I think the majority of people appreciate it as well,” Lieberman said in an exclusive interview on Breitbart News Daily.

But the revelation by Grim of Biden’s comments also come as President Trump, seeing Biden as his likely rival, given the former vice president’s position in the polls, has highlighted how Biden’s work in the U.S. Senate severely harmed the black community, something Trump’s criminal justice reform efforts aim to alleviate.

This week, Trump tweeted about the matter–calling out Biden in particular:

Biden’s complicated history with race has hurt his standing in the black community. For instance, in this MSNBC report, a black voter says that Biden “has a terrible history with the black community”:

In early May, too, Morning Consult questioned if Biden’s early support in the black community will hold up, given his spotty record on civil rights and race issues. New York magazine went even further in a March 2019 article, questioning if Biden’s backers in the black community will still vote for him when they remember what he actually did to them policy-wise.

From the New York magazine piece:

Joe Biden once called state-mandated school integration “the most racist concept you can come up with,” and Barack Obama “the first sort of mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean.” He was a staunch opponent of “forced busing” in the 1970s, and leading crusader for mass incarceration throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s. Uncle Joe has described African-American felons as “predators” too sociopathic to rehabilitate — and white supremacist senators as his friends.

And, as of this writing, a plurality of black Democrats want him to be their party’s 2020 nominee.

Whether Biden can retain that support, after voters learn more about his problematic past, could very well determine the outcome of the party’s primary race. To explore that question, let’s pick through the former vice-president’s hefty baggage on racial justice — and then, the case for thinking that Obama’s halo will prove to be brighter than the shadow of Biden’s record is dark.

Democrats have been trying to clean up Biden’s racial problems for years and understand they linger even now, decades after his various actions as a U.S. senator and as vice president, with some Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) members pitching that Biden select a black woman, like Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), or failed 2018 Georgia gubernatorial Democrat candidate, Stacey Abrams, as his running mate early.

“The Congressional Black Caucus may have found an answer to its Joe Biden dilemma: Vice President Kamala Harris,” Politico’s John Bresnahan and Heather Caygle wrote in early May:

Some black lawmakers are agonizing over whether to back Biden or two members of the close-knit caucus — Sens. Harris and Cory Booker — who also are vying for the White House, according to interviews with a dozen CBC members. But with the former vice president jumping out to a huge, if early, lead in the polls, several CBC members are warming to the idea of a Biden-Harris ticket to take on President Donald Trump.

They quote Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-MO) as describing Biden-Harris as a “dream ticket.”

“That would be a dream ticket for me, a dream ticket!” Lacy Clay said. “If she is not the nominee, that would be a dream ticket for this country.”

What’s more, regarding earlier reports that Biden was considering Abrams as a running mate, Politico quoted an anonymous lawmaker saying that backfired:

Biden faced criticism after earlier reports he was eyeing former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams as an early running mate. Abrams says she’s still considering seeking the top slot herself.

Announcing who he’d like as his vice presidential pick would be “premature and likely would backfire,” according to one CBC member who requested anonymity.

“The vice president’s team seems to be very sensitive to the notion that they have to go out and earn this,” the lawmaker added.

However, even having a black leader from the Democrat side of the aisle on the ticket might not be enough to undo the damage in the black community that Biden’s history may have–especially with Trump on the rise there.

“I can give an unqualified ‘yes’ on the idea that the president will be more popular on Election Day with blacks in 2020 than he was in 2016,” Horace Cooper of the conservative Project 21 Black Leadership Network told the Washington Examiner.

Rand Paul on Amash’s Impeachment Calls: Mueller Investigation ‘Has an Un-Libertarian Feel’

During Thursday’s “America’s Newsroom” on Fox News Channel, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) responded to Rep. Justin Amash’s (R-MI) tweet in response to FBI special counsel Robert Mueller saying charging President Donald Trump with a crime is “not an option,” seemingly leaving it open to Congress to take action.

Paul questioned the legitimacy of the Mueller investigation, saying it was done for partisan reasons.

“As a libertarian Republican, I think the whole investigation sort of has an un-libertarian feel,” Paul said. “You have [an] intelligence community that has so much power that many libertarians, we’ve always said, ‘Gosh, this much power could be abused.’”

He continued, “When I look at it, I see an abuse of power from Comey, from Clapper, from Brennan, from all of these guys who I think took this … great power we entrusted with them to spy on foreigners and they directed it against Americans for partisan reasons.”

Donald Trump: ‘Big League’ Border Policy Soon

President Donald Trump will announce a major border security reform on Thursday or Friday.

On Thursday morning, Trump told reporters at the White House that he will soon announce “my biggest statement” on border security. “This is a big league statement. We are going to do something very dramatic on the border.”

The announcement will likely reveal that White House officials have drafted a regulation barring asylum seekers who cross a safe country to reach the United States border, according to Politico.

The regulation, if it survives multiple court challenges, would effectively exclude the growing wave of Central American migrants who travel through Mexico — often on chartered buses — to exploit the various catch-and-release rules that let them get job permits.

Politico reported:

A draft proposal circulating among Trump’s Homeland Security advisers would prohibit migrants from seeking asylum if they have transited through a country other than their own before coming to the U.S., according to a DHS official and an outside advocate familiar with the plan. If executed, it would deny asylum to thousands of migrants waiting just south of the border, many of whom have trekked a perilous journey through Mexico.

Trump alluded to the asylum changes Thursday as he departed for Colorado, telling reporters he is “going to do something very dramatic on the border.”

While Trump aides believe they can make the changes through an administrative rule, they are also seeking a legislative fix that would be far less vulnerable to a court challenge. Similar language is expected to be included in Trump’s new immigration bill that would boost security at the southern border and push the nation to admit more high-skilled, well-educated immigrants, rather than immigrants who enter the U.S. based on family ties, according to two people familiar with the proposal.

A regulatory shift could require a long fight in the courts, said a border-law expert.

“The Attorney General could issue a decision on certification that denied [asylum] applications in the exercise of discretion, but even that would require overturning years of case law and require a change in USCIS policy,” said Andrew Arthur, a former immigration judge who works with the Cente for Immigration Studies. “What he could do is require [migrants] to apply for asylum at the consulates, either in their country or in Mexico.”

The rush of migrants into U.S. workplaces and schools has spiked in 2019 because the cartels, the migrants, the border agencies and the voters know that Congress is refusing to block the catch-and-release loopholes which are delivering hundreds of thousands of cheap workers to their political allies and their donors.

The migration may reach 800,000 in the 12 months up to October. That number includes at least 400,000 extra workers and at least 200,000 children for placement in K-12 schools used by the children of America’s blue-collar communities.

The migration means that employers quickly get an extra supply of tough, compliant, low-wage workers just as labor shortages are forcing companies to boost pay for Americans. The extra labor supply also reduces employers’ incentive to hire from the population of 12 million unemployed or underemployed Americans, some of whom are sidelined by disability, underinvestment in rural areas, or drugs.

Trump’s deputies are trying many options to stop the inflow, which is backed by Democrats and many GOP legislators. For example, officials are blocking some migrants from jobs to repay their smuggling costs by requiring them to wait in Mexico while their asylum appeals are processed. Officials are also trying to write a regulation to replace the 2015 Flores decision by a judge which bars the detention of migrant adults for more than 20 days if they bring a child across the border.

Immigration Numbers

Each year, roughly four million young Americans join the workforce after graduating from high school or university.

But the federal government then imports about 1.1 million legal immigrants and refreshes a resident population of roughly 1.5 million white-collar visa workers — including roughly one million H-1B workers — and approximately 500,000 blue-collar visa workers.

The government also prints out more than one million work permits for foreigners, tolerates about eight million illegal workers, and does not punish companies for employing the hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants who sneak across the border or overstay their legal visas each year.

This policy of inflating the labor supply boosts economic growth for investors because it ensures that employers do not have to compete for American workers by offering higher wages and better working conditions.

This policy of flooding the market with cheap, foreign, white-collar graduates and blue-collar labor also shifts enormous wealth from young employees towards older investors, even as it also widens wealth gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, and hurts children’s schools and college educations. It also pushes Americans away from high-tech careers and sidelines millions of marginalized Americans, including many who are now struggling with fentanyl addictions. The labor policy also moves business investment and wealth from the heartland to the coastal cities, explodes rents and housing costs, shrivels real estate values in the Midwest, and rewards investors for creating low-tech, labor-intensive workplaces.

Baby the Size of an Apple Survives and Thrives After 23-Week Delivery

A hospital in San Diego, California, has announced the birth of what is believed to be the smallest baby to not only survive but thrive. Saybie — the name given to her by the neonatal nurses who cared for her for five months before her release — was delivered to save her mother’s life and weighed in at 8.6 ounces.

The tiny infant’s size was compared to that of a large apple or a hamster and her survival described as miraculous.

“She’s a miracle, that’s for sure,” said Kim Norby, a nurse featured in the video the hospital posted on YouTube announcing Saybie’s journey.

The journey started when doctors delivered Saybie in December and told her father that he had about an hour to be with his daughter before she passed away.

“But that hour turned into two hours, which turned into a day, which turned into a week,” the unidentified mother said in a video released by Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns and republished by the Washington Post.

The Associated Press (AP) reported:

[The mother] said she was taken to the hospital after not feeling well and was told she had preeclampsia, a serious condition that causes skyrocketing blood pressure, and that the baby needed to be delivered quickly.

“I kept telling them she’s not going to survive, she’s only 23 weeks,” the mother said in the video.

But Saybie did survive and spent five months at the hospital where a sign by her crib said, “Tiny but Mighty.”

The nurses put a miniature graduation cap on her head when she was released.

Babies born before 28 weeks are designated as micro-preemie and can face developmental challenges as well as hearing and vision disabilities.

“So far Saybie has beaten the odds,” AP reported.

1000 Migrants Apprehended at Texas Border in Largest Group Ever

El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended a historic 1,036 migrants in a single group near El Paso on Wednesday morning. The group included more than 60 unaccompanied minors.

Agents patrolling the border near El Paso encountered the largest-ever single group of Central American migrants crossing the border at one time. The previous record migrant group consisted of a group of 430 migrants who crossed the border near El Paso on Monday, according to information obtained from El Paso Sector officials. Prior to that agents apprehended a single group of 424 Central American migrants who crossed the New Mexico border near Antelope Wells one month ago.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials reported that the 1,036 migrants apprehended early Wednesday morning consisted of mostly Central American migrants including 934 family units, 63 unaccompanied minors, and 39 single adults, NBC News reported. The migrants traveled to the U.S. from Guatemala (515), Honduras (135), and El Salvador (76).

“Immigration advocates say more immigrants are traveling in large groups because they believe in ‘safety in numbers,’ as conditions along their journey are treacherous,” NBC News reported. “U.S. officials say the large groups overwhelm medical teams and border agents, who are most often patrolling in pairs.”

It has been a very busy week for El Paso Sector agents who are responsible for a largely unsecured border that covers far West Texas and the New Mexico boot-heel. On Memorial Day, El Paso Sector agents established a new single-day record by apprehending more than 2,200 migrants, according to information obtained by Breitbart News from El Paso Sector officials. The migrants crossed the border in two large groups and several smaller groups, officials reported.

Early Monday morning, agents patrolling near Antelope Wells, New Mexico, apprehended the first large group of the day. The agents captured more than 200 migrants. A few hours later, agents in El Paso apprehended what would be short-lived record group of 430 migrants who crossed near Bowie High School.

By the end of the day, El Paso Sector agents would be tasked with processing more than 2,200 migrants. Of those, 1,850 were taken into custody in small groups who crossed in an area of El Paso bounded by Executive Boulevard and Midway Street, officials stated.

The migrants will be processed and provided a health screening and criminal background check. Migrants who are suspected of making false family claims will be interviewed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agents to determine the validity of their claim.

It is likely that most of the migrant family units will be released after processing due to overcrowding.

“This fiscal year to date the El Paso Sector has arrested over [130,000] illegal aliens, compared to over 16,000 during the same time last fiscal year,” El Paso Sector officials said in a written statement. “The numbers continue to rise and agents see no end in sight for this current situation.”

HYPOCRITES! Disney Threatens To Cut Off Georgia Film Production Over Pro-Life Laws But Has MASSIVE Business With Communist China

Hollywood hypocrites are at it again, threatening to cut off production in Georgia over their new pro-life legislation outlawing abortion in their state. 

First it was Netflix, and now it’s Disney.

This is nothing more than virtue signaling on the backs of the people of Georgia, who are apparently good enough for Bob Iger as long as they keep their mouths shut and their legs open.

But who the hell is Disney to criticize ANYONE over a moral position? Let’s reflect, shall we?

Disney’s fairytales are all stories of heroes who defeat the wicked, with a prince saving the princess, and good triumphing over evil. However, these are all beautiful fairytale stories, but the truth behind the manufacture of Disney’s toys is far different.

The manufacturing process of Disney toys in China, is a process of oppressing Chinese workers. At the Zhen Yang Toy factory in Dongguan, Guangdong province, where Frozen products are manufactured, many thousands of workers labor every day for 12 hours. Some work non-stop for periods of 11 hours, with only a one hour meal and rest break in between. 16 workers share a 16 square meter dormitory room. Each floor of the dormitory building has 20 rooms. 320 workers share 24 toilets and 24 bathrooms. The bathrooms have no hot water, only cold water. There are no showerheads, and workers have to use a bucket or pan to take a bath. Workers earn 8.68RMB/hour ($1.32USD/hour), and working a total of 172 hours, this amounts to 1510RMB ($230USD). Workers are forced to work overtime every day. During the off season, workers hope to have more opportunities to work overtime. Without overtime, the base wage is insufficient to cover workers costs of living.

This factory is not the only case. Previously, China Labor Watch underwent investigations in dozens of factories which manufactured for Disney, and the working conditions were similar. As a non-governmental organization, our resources are very limited. The factories we investigate are only 0.1% of Disney’s network of 30,000 facilities involved in the production of Disney products.

Will the people of Georgia be allowed to buy Disney’s cheap crap made using nearly slave labor?

Not to mention, China is home to two FABULOUS modern amenities:

  1. Gulags
  2. Disney World!

Drilling down even further, Disney just released their total piece of garbage, Aladdin. Guess where they filmed it? Jordan. Guess what the abortion laws are in Jordan.

Article 321.  A woman who through any means performs an abortion on herself or consents to another person applying such means shall be punished with six months’ to three years’ imprisonment.

So…Disney has no problem filming in Jordan, but Georgia is beyond the pale! Even Georgia doesn’t imprison the mother.

And let’s not even go down the road of how many children have been victimized at the hands of Disney employees. Let’s just say, they have NO room to talk. They should just shut their mouse holes and say thank you to Georgia, and all Americans.

Limbaugh on Mueller Probe: ‘If They Get Away with the Criminalization of Policy Differences — Then We’re Finished’

Thursday on his nationally syndicated radio show, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh warned of the dangers of not taking a closer look at the origins of the Mueller probe, which opens the door for “criminalization” of policy differences and politics.

Limbaugh said if such a thing is allowed, it would mean “we’re done” as a country.

Partial transcript as follows:

Everybody with half a brain ought to be outraged with what Mueller did yesterday. But they’re not, because Mueller is an ally in getting rid of a politician they don’t like. They couldn’t defeat the politician at the ballot box, and they couldn’t find any crimes that this politician committed.

So they’re just going to tell everybody they think he’s guilty and that he intended to commit crimes. “But, for crying out loud, we just don’t have the evidence yet! We can’t catch him, but we know he’s guilty. Therefore, because we know he is, he is.” That’s what they are constructing here. If they get away with this — if they get away with the criminalization of policy differences — then we’re finished. I mean, given the assets they have?

They have the deep state. They have the media. They have the power of the federal Treasury. Look at what they’re doing now with open borders, flooding the nation. Hollywood, the pop culture corrupting our society. Academia. Wall Street. They have all of this at their disposal. Right now, all we have is the people on our side and maybe 51, 52% of the country. These people have to be defeated. The people that did this have to be held accountable.

GOP Rep. Jordan: Three Takeaways from Mueller Remarks: No New Information, No Collusion, No Obstruction

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) seemingly dismissed Department of Justice special counsel’s Robert Mueller’s public statement earlier in the day.

Jordan argued there was no new information and there were still questions about the origins of the investigation.

“I think there were three takeaways from today: no new information, no collusion, no obstruction after all the investigation that Bob Mueller did,” Jordan said. “The second thing was he resigned. He told us that he was stepping down. And then the third, I think he doesn’t want to testify. So if it comes out, that would be up to Jerry Nadler, but there are lots of questions to ask and the key ones I think are what you were just asked, Sean. This dossier, because before they went to the FISA Court in October 2016, they knew all kinds of things about the author of that dossier, Christopher Steele.”

“They knew he was desperate,” he added. “This was communicated by Bruce Ohr to the FBI. He was desperate to stop Trump, and they didn’t tell the court that information. Didn’t tell the court who paid for the document, namely the Clinton campaign. Those are key questions that we need answers too. The good news is Bill Barr is doing an investigation, and I think he’s going to get the answers.”
