Florida Governor Signs Anti-Sanctuary City Bill Into Law

In an aggressive attempt to enforce immigration law, Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law banning sanctuary cities in the state. The law requires state agencies and law enforcement entities to support federal law enforcement when addressing illegal immigration in the state.

Sanctuary cities restrict cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, meaning that they can serve as safe havens for illegal immigrants looking to avoid deportation. Over the course of his tenure, the Trump administration has targeted sanctuary cities with funding cuts for refusing to work with federal agencies such as Immigration Customs and Enforcement.

There are currently no sanctuary cities in Florida, meaning the law bans any future defiance of federal immigration law from Florida’s municipalities.

The law was one of the Republican governor’s major campaign promises, the Miami Herald reported. It will go into effect in October.

State Sen. David Simmons (R.), co-sponsor of the law, addressed concerns that the law would damage relations between illegal immigrants and law enforcement, according to Spectrum News 13. He stressed that the legislation only pertains to cooperation with the federal government after an individual has been arrested for a crime.

The law also provides for "an exception to reporting requirements for crime victims or witnesses," according to its text. If an illegal immigrant is a witness or a victim of a crime, he or she would not be deported for reporting it.

Activists slammed the law for threatening to hurt minority communities by discouraging crime reporting. Scott McCoy, senior policy counsel for the Southern Poverty Law Center in Florida, said that it would make illegal immigrants less likely to report crimes, and accused state Republicans of trying to use racial tensions to divide the state’s population, the Miami Herald reported.

DeSantis said that the bill’s objective is straightforward: cooperation with the federal government, Florida Politics reported.

Cruz Delivers Forceful Speech Denouncing Anti-Semitism

Texas senator Ted Cruz took to the Senate floor Thursday afternoon to denounce anti-Semitism moments before the Senate unanimously passed his bipartisan resolution condemning all forms of anti-Semitism.

"We’re living in an era where the need for a strong and clear condemnation of anti-Semitism has become acute," Cruz said.

Cruz then went on to discuss the uptick in anti-Semitic attacks and violence in the United States and abroad, highlighting such horrific incidents as the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh which killed eleven people.

"We have seen the growth on our college campuses of movements to aggressively boycott products made by Jews in Israel," he continued, highlighting the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

During his speech, Cruz pointed to the House of Representatives’ failure to pass a resolution earlier this year specifically condemning anti-Semitism after Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) made numerous anti-Semitic remarks including insinuating American Jews have a dual loyalty to Israel.

"When the House tried to condemn anti-Semitism, sadly they were instead forced to water it down into a general resolution decrying bigotry of all sorts," Cruz said. "There’s of course nothing wrong with condemning bigotry and hatred in general."

"But anti-Semitism is a unique prejudice, with a unique history, that has led to unique horrors throughout history," Cruz added. He noted Jews are the most targeted religious group in America today according to data from the FBI.

Cruz noted that American Jews have been subject to discrimination throughout the history of the United States, including being barred from certain social clubs, academic institutions, neighborhoods, and hotels.

"This is a shameful legacy and it makes it all the more incumbent that we as a Senate speak in one voice and stand resolved that the United States condemns and commits to combating all forms of anti-Semitism," he said.

The resolution passed with unanimous consent and included fourteen Democratic cosponsors including Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (I.,Vt.).

The Bill Barr Justice Department plans on interviewing senior CIA officials as part of its expanding investigation into the Obama Deep State spying on the Trump campaign in the 2016 election, according to a new report at The New York Times.

CIA Director Gina Haspel has told senior officials that while the CIA plans to cooperate, it will protect information that could place sources or collection methods at risk.

According to the Trump-hating NY Times, intel officials have been informed that Attorney General William Barr has assigned the United States attorney in Connecticut, John Durham, to seek the interviews.

Barr is also still trying to piece together why Obama administration believe Putin ordered Russian operatives to aid President Trump in 2016.

Sean Hannity added that the Department of Justice is also seeking cooperation from foreign intelligence agencies including Italy, the UK and Australia who were used by the Obama deep state to help spy on Trump campaign officials.

John Brennan may want to quit trolling on Twitter and get himself a good lawyer.

Poll: Justin Amash Trails Primary Challenger by Double Digits After Impeachment Call

Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI), the first Republican on Capitol Hill to call for impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, trails primary challenger State Rep. Jim Lower by a sizeable margin, according to a poll released Tuesday.

A Practical Political Consulting/MIRS poll shows Amash (33 percent) behind Lower (49 percent) by 16 percent. The poll was conducted between June 5th-9th and served 360 likely Republican voters. Amash’s other primary challenger, Army National Guardsman Tim Norton, was not included in the poll.

The poll comes amid a Politico report stating President Trump has discussed the possibility of backing an Amash primary challenger with Vice President Mike Pence, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), and Republican National Committee (RNC) chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. However, no firm decision has been made on the matter.

The Michigan Republican shocked the Beltway when he accused President Trump of committing “impeachable” offenses stemming from special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report and claimed Attorney General William Barr misrepresented the special counsel’s key findings. Team Mueller found no criminal conspiracy occurred between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia, and shortly after, Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein determined that the president did not commit obstruction of justice during the sweeping investigation.

President Trump and top Republicans blasted Amash over his remarks, accusing him of being an attention-seeker with an unimpressive legislative track record to show for his four terms in Congress. “Never a fan of @justinamash, a total lightweight who opposes me and some of our great Republican ideas and policies just for the sake of getting his name out there through controversy,” the president tweeted last month. “If he actually read the biased Mueller Report, ‘composed’ by 18 Angry Dems who hated Trump, he would see that it was nevertheless strong on NO COLLUSION and, ultimately, NO OBSTRUCTION.”

“Justin is a loser who sadly plays right into our opponents [sic] hands!” he concluded.

On Monday evening, Amash resigned from the House Freedom Caucus, the conservative congressional group he helped start in 2015, after 30 of his now-former peers voted to condemn his remarks on impeachment.

“I have the highest regard for them and they’re my close friends,” he told CNN of the decision to leave. “I didn’t want to be a further distraction for the group.”

Dem rep’s House speech: I’m tired of hearing about abortion from “sex-starved males on this floor”

I consider this progress. The left’s standard position is that no man, sex-starved or otherwise, is entitled to help set policy on abortion.

Congrats to the bros who are getting laid regularly on their new role in this wrenching debate.

As for the rest of us, for the record: We’re not “sex-starved, ” we’re sex-peckish.

A weird thing about this clip is that Rob Woodall, the Republican congressman who interrupted her, actually did her a favor of sorts by doing so. If she hadn’t retracted, the House could have gagged her for the rest of the afternoon. Then we’d have to wade through a flood of terrible lefty thinkpieces tomorrow about Norma Torres being silenced for speaking feminist truth to patriarchal power, etc etc.

So, really, Rob Woodall did us all a favor:

Her remarks triggered audible outrage — and numerous calls for a point of order — from the Republican side of the chamber. But longtime Rules Committee member Rob Woodall, R-Ga., got the presiding officer’s attention first and gave his Rules Committee colleague a chance to, shall we say, clarify her words…

Torres at that point could have been at risk of being silenced for the entire day, as Republicans could have requested striking her words from the record. A day of silence is part of the consequence if the words are “ruled out of order,” according to the Congressional Research Service.

But Woodall kept requests from other members at bay, and allowed Torres to again propose withdrawing her statement — this time without the inflammatory commentary about GOP colleagues. Torres then rephrased her views.

Why’d she cuck out and withdraw what she said right after saying it? All she had to do to become a viral sensation and overnight star among online lefty idiots was to double down and show defiance. Silencing her for being “out of order” would have been the icing on the cake of her new hero-martyr status in progressive media for the next 24 hours. This was a missed opportunity for five minutes of free airtime on the Rachel Maddow Show.

Anyway, for the record, Republicans have better sex lives than Democrats. Although that’s probably due to marital status: Democrats have more singles than Republicans do, singles are stuck going without sex periodically, ergo GOPers are less likely to be “sex-starved.”

Fascist Twitter temporarily suspended Project Veritas after James O’Keefe exposed Pinterest’s anti-Christian, anti-conservative bias.

Project Veritas interviewed a tech insider who blew the whistle on how Pinterest listed top pro-life sites as “porn” and censored Bible verses.

The insider, who wished to remain anonymous, described in detail how Pinterest blocks Christian terms and Bible verses by not allowing the terms to trend, blocking them from notifications and the auto-complete feature.

Pinterest also blacklisted pro-life group LiveAction.org by classifying them as “porn” which ultimately blocked their URL from being pinned.

Ben Shapiro was labeled a white supremacist and his commentary was also censored in “zero tolerance moment.”

The Fascists at Twitter didn’t like their Fascist friends over at Pinterest being exposed by O’Keefe so they temporarily suspended Project Veritas’ account.

O’KEEFE: Breaking News: Twitter has decided that investigative journalism is in violation of their terms of service – @Project_Veritas has been temporarily suspended from posting for tweeting internal communications from @Pinterest which show them calling @benshapiro a “white supremacist”

A person familiar with the situation told Breitbart News that the Project Veritas account was locked for violating the Twitter Rules, specifically the private information policy , but clarified that Project Veritas was not locked out due to the content of their communications.

Pinterest fired the whistleblower on Tuesday.
