The Border Patrol is seeing an increase in migrants from African countries who are blending in with the large numbers crossing the southern border illegally through Central America.
Agents assigned to at the Del Rio, Texas, sector apprehended 116 individuals last week from African countries as they crossed the border from Mexico.
Those caught around 10:30 p.m. CT May 30 included nationals from Angola, Cameroon, and Congo.
The Del Rio sector encountered 182 large groups with more than 100 individuals during the current fiscal year, which began in October. But this was the first encounter with African migrants, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the parent agency to the Border Patrol.
“Large groups present a unique challenge for the men and women of the Del Rio Sector,” sector Chief Raul Ortiz said in a prepared statement. “This large group from Africa further demonstrates the complexity and severity of the border security and humanitarian crisis at our southwest border.”
“This is less a result of conditions in Africa and more a result of the dynamics of illegal immigration across the southern border,” Joshua Meservey, senior policy analyst for Africa and the Middle East at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal.
“I suspect the Africans we are seeing is a result of word circulating that traveling in groups means the odds are better,” Meservey said. “African migration is still far less common into the United States than in Europe.”
Federal laws requiring “catch and release” when an immigrant is accompanied by children have served as a magnet to would-be border crossers, and apprehensions are expected to reach a 12-year high.
“We’ve definitely had people other than Latin American across the world crossing the border,” David Inserra, homeland security analyst for The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal. “Large group tactics have been effective.”
Queen Elizabeth II and U.S. President Donald J Trump have delivered speeches at the Royal Banquet praising the enduring American-British alliance which was forged over 70 years ago during the Second World War.
On Monday evening, President Trump and the First Lady arrived at Buckingham Palace and participated in a procession with the Queen before dining with 170 guests from the political, business, and economic world.
Before dinner commenced, the Queen delivered a speech and offered a toast to President Trump and the First Lady.
Recalling that visits by American presidents always remind her of the “close and long-standing friendship between the UK and the U.S.”, the Queen said she was “so glad” to have “another opportunity to demonstrate the immense importance that both our countries attach to our relationship”.

The President’s State Visit has been timed to coincide with commemorations for the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, which took place on June 6th, 1944.
The Queen recounted that she had paid her first State Visit to the United States during the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the war-time army general, and said: “In his headquarters in St James’s Square, not far from Buckingham Palace, British and American officers worked closely together to plan the freedom of a continent, and it would be no exaggeration to say that millions of lives depended on their common endeavour.”
Remarking on the two countries’ “strong cultural links and shared heritage” — including the President’s own “particular connection to this country” through his Scottish mother — and economic ties, the Queen said: “Mr President, as we look to the future, I am confident that our common values and shared interests will continue to unite us.
“Tonight, we celebrate an alliance that has helped to ensure the safety and prosperity of both our peoples for decades and which I believe will endure for many years to come.”

The Queen then invited guests to rise and drink a toast to the President and Mrs Trump, “to the continued friendship between our two nations” and to the “health, prosperity, and happiness of the people of the United States” as the U.S. national anthem was played by the orchestra.
After a brief interlude, President Trump replied to Her Majesty the Queen that he and Melania were “profoundly honoured” to be her guests.
He then thanked the Queen for her “warm welcome and beautiful weather” and for Her Majesty’s “nearly seven decades of friendship with the United States of America”.
The President returned to the theme of the D-Day landings, saying:
“This week, we commemorate a mighty endeavour of righteous nations and one of the greatest undertakings of all of history.
“Seventy-five years ago more that 150,000 allied troops were preparing on this island to parachute into France, storm the beaches of Normandy, and win back our civilisation. Your Majesty will remember the British people had hoped and prayed and fought for this day for nearly five years.
“When Britain stood alone during the Blitz in 1940 and 1941, the Nazi war machine dropped thousands of bombs on this country…
“In that dark hour the people of this nation showed the world what it means to be British. They cleared wreckage from the streets, displayed the Union Jack from their shattered homes, and kept fighting on to victory. They only wanted victory.
“The courage of the United Kingdom’s sons and daughters ensured that your destiny would always remain in your own hands.”

President Trump paid tribute to the Queen as a “great, great woman” and also honoured her husband’s, Prince Philip’s, “distinguished and valiant service” in the Royal Navy during the war.
President Trump continued: “This evening, we thank God for the brave sons of the United Kingdom and the United States who defeated the Nazis and the Nazi regime and liberated millions from tyranny. The bond between our nations was forever sealed in that great crusade as we honour our shared victory and heritage.
“We affirm the common values that unite us long into the future: freedom, sovereignty, self-determination, the rule of law, and reverence for the rights given to us by Almighty God,” he said, adding that the Queen represented “a constant symbol of these priceless traditions”.
“She has embodied the spirit of dignity, duty, and patriotism that beats proudly in every British heart. On behalf of all Americans, I offer a toast to the eternal friendship of our people, the vitality of our nations, and to the long-cherished and truly remarkable reign of her Majesty the Queen.”

First there was ‘Mini AOC’ — Ava Martinez, 8, of Lake Forest, Ca., who along with her stepfather have been posting hilarious videos of her impersonating Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Now comes ‘Mini Ilhan Omar’, and her take on the Muslim lawmaker from Minnesota is giving Mini-AOC a run for her money.
“Greetings, as-Salaam-Alaikum. To my family and friends, I say salutations,” she says. “You may have seen my friend, AOC. She’s a cool person. I’m a little cooler.
“My name is Ilhan Omar and I am the first woman of color from Minnesota to serve in Congress. We came a long way from Somal — Uh, I mean, Minnesota — and now I’m her at the White House.
“I am happy to be Donald Trump’s equal,” says the mini-version of the first-term lawmaker, who has been in the job since January. “Women of color, like me and AOC, shows that anyone can make it in America. I am a refugee and I’ve done so much for refugees that I think we should make all illegal immigration legal immigration so anybody can come to America without background checks.
“My fellow congresswoman, AOC, has put out a new deal, called the Green New Deal. I think if we put out the Green New Deal, it will help all of the undocumented immigrants first. Those are the people I think deserve to get American taxpayer dollars before Americans.
“We need to tear down the border so my Somali family — uh, I mean, undocumented immigrants — can come into our nation.”
The Mini-AOC also hits a spot-on impression, this one of Ocasio-Cortez.
“Like, hello America, AOC here again,” Ava says in one video. “But this time from Washington, D.C., which is named after our first president — George Washington D.C.”
“Like, I want to tell you about my plan to single-handedly save the planet. I call it the Green New Deal. I picked green because I’m still learning my colors. I came up with my plan after we were watching, like, the most important documentary on climate change. It’s called Ice Age 2: The Meltdown,” she says, referring to the animated 2006 hit movie. “That’s not me saying it, that’s science.”
As long as Ava #miniAOCofficial enjoys doing these videos she will continue to keep making them and as long as #AlexandriaOcasioCortez keeps being #AOC we will have plenty of material to keep making them as well. Thanks again to everyone who had kind things to say about Ava. pic.twitter.com/Je7YojRoXd
President Donald Trump commemorated the 40th Anniversary of Pope John Paul II’s first trip to Poland, calling him Sunday “a champion for human dignity and religious liberty.”
In a Presidential Message released on June 2 “in Commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of Pope John Paul II’s First Pilgrimage to Poland,” Mr. Trump said that St. Pope John Paul II’s nine-day visit to Poland in 1979 “changed the course of history.”
“As we remember the long struggle of the Polish people against communism, we also acknowledge that millions of people now live in freedom because of St. Pope John Paul II and his extraordinary life as a follower of Jesus Christ and a champion for human dignity and religious liberty,” the president said in his message.
In that first homily as pope delivered on Polish soil, St. John Paul “delivered a powerful message of hope to the crowd gathered in Warsaw, to all of Poland, and to the world,” Trump said. “His words stood tall against the repressive forces of communism throughout Poland and the rest of Europe” and he “inspired courage in the hearts of millions of men and women to seek a better, freer life.”
On that occasion, while Poland was still under the rule of atheistic communism, Pope John Paul insisted that Jesus Christ is the key to understanding the nature and meaning of the human person and cannot be excluded from society.
“Christ cannot be kept out of the history of man in any part of the globe, at any longitude or latitude of geography,” John Paul said during his homily. “The exclusion of Christ from the history of man is an act against man. Without Christ it is impossible to understand the history of Poland, especially the history of the people who have passed or are passing through this land.”
When President Trump visited Poland in July 2017, he praised Pope John Paul’s heroic witness that helped the Polish people reassert their identity as a nation.
“And when the day came on June 2nd, 1979, and one million Poles gathered around Victory Square for their very first mass with their Polish Pope, that day, every communist in Warsaw must have known that their oppressive system would soon come crashing down,” the president said. “They must have known it at the exact moment during Pope John Paul II’s sermon when a million Polish men, women, and children suddenly raised their voices in a single prayer.”
“A million Polish people did not ask for wealth. They did not ask for privilege. Instead, one million Poles sang three simple words: ‘We Want God,’” Mr. Trump said.
In his presidential message, Mr. Trump said that the United States stands behind the religious freedom that John Paul fought for.
“Today, we celebrate this historic moment and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that freedom always prevails,” he said. “The United States and our allies stand united against the shackles of communism and as a beacon of liberty and prosperity throughout the world.”
“Melania joins me in remembering St. Pope John Paul II, whose poignant address stirred the soul of the Polish people and eventually helped tear down the Iron Curtain of communism in Europe,” the president said.
“May we continue to be strengthened by his words and his call to God’s abundant compassion, strength, and glory,” he concluded.
Mueller cannot get in front of a Congressional panel to address questions about his Mueller report. Deep State won’t let him. It would be devastating to their coup. “Placeholder” Mueller does not know all that happened under his watch.
For two years the Mueller special counsel was investigating the President of the United States. The Democrats and their Deep State cheered him on. Numerous corrupt and criminal events took place. The last thing that the Democrats now want is for him to testify in public about his bogus, dishonest and one-sided report.
Those that want the truth could ask – When did the investigation into Trump and Russia start? Why did you not address the phony Steele dossier in your report? Why did you not look at any of the actions by the Hillary team who paid for and supplied the dossier? Who cleared the team for conflicts of interest since it was all Hillary supporters, lawyers and donors? What was the original crime that started the investigation and why was the scope so broad and outside of the Special Counsel mandate? Why did you withhold information from Flynn, Papadopoulos, etc? When did you release Strzok and Page? Why did you destroy the data on their phones so their text messages could not be shared with Congress? And on and on and on….
Many, many questions could be asked that Mueller could simply not answer.
Mueller looked very nervous and small as he read his response to the media where he stated that he couldn’t charge the President. This conflicted with what he told AG Barr and to what Barr has testified to. Barr stands by his story so much so that after Mueller’s nine minute presentation a letter was released by the DOJ that stated that Mueller did not disagree with AG Barr’s interpretation of the law in regards to the Special Counsel.
Mueller has been around a long time. In any establishment, in any elite group of people, when you reach a certain age you become a figurehead, and you are rewarded, you are compensated, you’re paid for past achievements. You’re hoisted on a petard, you’re hoisted up on a pedestal, and you are revered and celebrated so forth. And your position is largely ceremonial.
In a law firm, the position is called “of counsel.” They want your name on the letterhead, you’re a rainmaker, but they don’t let you go into court anymore because you don’t know what time of day it is. You’ve done great work in your past, you’ve got a great reputation, a bunch of people want to take advantage of it, but they don’t really let you near any real work.
And I think it’s very likely this is what Mueller was in this special counsel. I think all these people that he hired did the actual work led by Andrew Weissmann. But they can’t put Weissmann’s name on this because that would be an instant bull’s-eye. This guy’s had cases overturned suborning perjury, he’s been sanctioned by federal judges, he sat on the Enron task force when every one of those cases that he was involved in was overturned at the Supreme Court. He had relationships with some of the lawyers in the Ted Stevens case, which was also thrown out of court because of prosecutorial misconduct.
I think Weissmann probably did most of the work on this. I’m only saying this because as I went back and I looked again at the eight minutes of Mueller – I’m not trying to be mean here. Everybody gets old and there’s nothing you can do about it. But it just seemed kind of fumbling and doddering and all of that. I wouldn’t be surprised — I don’t know this — I wouldn’t be surprised if Mueller was literally a figurehead in all of this and had the statement that he read yesterday.
Sundance at the Conservative Tree House echoed Rush Limbaugh suggesting that Mueller was not really even running the investigation:
Remember, Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller didn’t come into this process as an ‘outsider’, and Mueller didn’t select his team. The corrupt Lawfare team inside government (FBI Counsel James Baker, DOJ Deputy Andrew Weissmann, FBI Deputy McCabe etc.) already knew Mueller. The team had established personal and professional connections to Mueller, and they brought him in to lead the team.
When you realize that Robert Mueller didn’t select the team; rather the preexisting team selected their figurehead, Robert Mueller; then results make sense. Robert Mueller can never be allowed to testify to congress because if questioned he actually has very little understanding of what took place.
After two years we finally saw Mueller for what he is – an old doddering and fumbling figure head, certainly corrupted by political bias against President Trump, and noticably lacking in a crisp and sharp sense of what is going on. He read his press conference memo and took no questions, for example.
Mueller cannot get in front of the cameras. Deep State participants in the Democrat and Republican parties don’t want him to speak out even though Americans demand answers and justice.
The House attempted to bring Mueller in for questions but then realized that this was not a good idea. Mueller gave them his nine minute reading instead.
It’s time for Republican US Senators to bring Mueller in for questioning so all of America can see the imbecile that led the most corrupt and illegal action taken against a President in US history.
US Customs and Border Protection posted a video of a group of illegal aliens from Angola, Cameroon and Ebola-stricken Congo wading across the Rio Grande into the United States.
