AOC’s Chief of Staff Admits ‘Green New Deal’ Was All About Socialism, Not Climate Change

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, seems to enjoy being the center of attention. While still in the midst of a feud between House leadership and a band of radical freshmen progressives, Chakrabarti said that the controversial Green New Deal was about breaking America’s capitalistic economy and replacing it with a new system,…

Nets Warn ‘Threat’ of Routine Immigration Law Enforcement ‘Not Over’

On Monday, all three network morning shows admitted immigration arrests over the weekend appeared to be nothing more than “routine enforcement actions,” however, that did not stop the broadcasts from continuing to fearmonger on the issue and warn that the “threat” of Immigration and Customs Enforcement doing its job was “still not over.”

Famed Anti-Trump Surgeon Wrecked For Tweet About Men Getting Pregnant

Infamously anti-Trump surgeon Eugene Gu claimed in a tweet posted Friday that it is “a scientific and medical fact that men can get pregnant and also have abortions.”

“It’s a scientific and medical fact that men can get pregnant and also have abortions,” he wrote. “Trans men and non-binary individuals are human beings who deserve to be acknowledged by society. They choose their own identity — not me, not you, not any doctor, and certainly not any politician.”

The tweet was met with mockery and blowback.

“In a world where medical science bows down and worships the gods and goddesses of political ideology, doctors say things like this …,” pro-life activist Obianuju Ekeocha captioned the outrageous tweet.

Conservative writer Mark Hemingway mocked Gu with a list of doctors he “would solicit for medical advice before” Mr. Gu.

“The following is a list of doctors I would solicit for medical advice before consulting Eugene Gu, MD,” he wrote. “1. Dr. Rosen Rosen, 2. Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, 3. Dr. Mabuse, 4. Dr. Hugo Z. Hackenbush, 5. Dr. Zaius.”

The Federalist’s Inez Stepman joined in: “Dr. Pepper.”

“Don’t forget Hugh Laurie,” added Daily Wire contributor Harry Khachatrian.

Another Twitter user accused Gu of attempting to erase women.

“I’m all for trans rights, have been out there on the protest lines. But this sounds like another way men are erasing women,” the account posted.

Gu is comfortably in the company of many high-ranking Democrats when he speaks of men allegedly getting pregnant and needing abortions. Last month, Julian Castro, who served as the secretary of Housing and Urban Development under former President Barack Obama, said biological men must have abortion “rights.”

“Let’s also not forget someone in the trans community, a trans female, is poor, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have the right to exercise that right to choose,” stated Mr. Castro.

Gu’s claim to fame is kneeling to apparently protest America’s pervasive racist, a nod to anthem-kneeling former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The persistent Trump-basher even sued the president after Trump blocked him on Twitter; Trump was eventually forced to unblock Gu’s account.

As reported by the Tennessean last year, Dr. Gu was canned three years into a five-year surgical residency at Vanderbilt. Though Gu complained that his contract was not renewed because of his political activism, Vanderbilt said he was let go due to his “work performance and professionalism,” the outlet noted.

“The take-home message here is that there is an unwritten rule for surgical residents and that is rule is, always make your program look good and always make your hospital look good, and often that means stay silent,” Gu said, according to the Tennessean. “But as an Asian-American physician, unlike a white doctor, I don’t always have the same luxury to stay silent.”

Another Win For Judicial Watch: Kentucky to Remove Up to 250,000 Inactive Voters From Voter Registration Rolls

Once again Judicial Watch is doing the heavy lifting.

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch announced Monday that thanks to a consent judgment, Kentucky is set to remove 250,000 inactive voters from registration voter rolls.

This is in addition to the 1.6 million inactive voters names that are set to be removed from California’s voter rolls.

Judicial Watch is diligently working to clean up dirty voters rolls to reduce voter fraud leading up to the 2020 election.

We all know how much the Democrats love their dead voters!

Judicial Watch reported:

Judicial Watch announced today that in June Kentucky mailed address confirmation notices to 250,000 voters who are believed to have moved, thanks to a consent judgment agreed to by the Commonwealth. These registrations are probably outdated and will be cancelled if the voters fail to vote in future elections or to confirm their current addresses.

In the consent judgment, Kentucky acknowledges that the state is not in compliance with the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA): “[T]he practices currently in place in Kentucky do not comply with the NVRA’s requirement that states conduct a general voter registration list maintenance program that makes a reasonable effort to remove ineligible persons from the voter rolls due to a change in residence outside of the jurisdiction …”

The address confirmation notices were sent to about 7% of the names currently on Kentucky’s voter rolls.

As part of the consent judgment, the Kentucky State Board of Elections is to proceed with a canvass mailing “to identify registrants through mail returned as undeliverable who may have unreported moves since 2009.” Voters who do not respond to the notices sent by Kentucky and who do not vote in the next two federal elections must be removed from the voting rolls. Despite the consent judgment being signed a year ago, Democrat Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes’s office has been accused of improperly delaying the processing of previous mailings through 2018, delaying the final clean up of Kentucky’s voting rolls by at least two years.

“Thanks to Judicial Watch, Kentucky is taking action to begin the removal of up to 250,000 voters from its lists of registered voters, which will help ensure cleaner elections in the Bluegrass State,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “This is another major victory for cleaner elections, especially following Los Angeles County’s agreement with Judicial Watch to begin the process of removing as many as 1.6 million inactive voters. Dirty voting rolls can mean dirty elections, so it is essential that dead and long-gone voters be removed from voter registration lists.”

Sens. Cruz, Hawley Demand Investigations of Big Tech

Key Republican leaders have called for action from the FTC, accusing Big Tech companies of threatening democracy.
Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Josh Hawley of Missouri put Big Tech companies on notice by pressing the Federal Trade Commission via a July 15 open letter to investigate them for hacking American democracy. "They control the ads we see, the news we read, and the information we digest," they wrote. "And they actively censor some content and amplify other content based on algorithms and intentional decisions that are completely nontransparent."

Donor Helped Warren Pay for Access to DNC Voter File

A multi-million-dollar Democratic donor helped Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) pay for access to the Democratic National Committee voter base in April.

Silicon Valley physician Karla Jurvetson gave $100,000 to the DNC to help Warren’s campaign cover the $175,000 cost for the crucial voter file, BuzzFeed News reported. The DNC allows campaigns to access the file by either paying the money directly, or, in the case of Warren, having the money raised to the DNC via a donor.

The Warren campaign pledged in February not to give outsized access to big donors and hold "fancy receptions and big money fundraisers," but her team told BuzzFeed she hadn’t broken any promises:

Warren officials say she did not violate that pledge when her campaign turned to one of California’s top Democratic donors, a wealthy Silicon Valley physician named Karla Jurvetson, to help pay for access to a crucial voter database earlier this spring.

[…]

Jurvetson, who contributed about $7 million to Democratic causes during the 2018 election, gave a total of $100,000 to the DNC in April 2019, Federal Election Commission filings show. The donations, according to two Democratic operatives with knowledge of the agreement, helped Warren pay for the voter file.

In a statement, a Warren campaign official said that the candidate herself did not make any calls to Jurvetson in order to facilitate the contribution, nor did the campaign solicit the money at a fundraising event. The official said Warren has remained consistent with the standard she set earlier this year in her pledge: not trading access for money.

Although Warren said she would not hold big fundraisers, she is required now to appear "once every three months at DNC fundraisers, send quarterly fundraising emails on behalf of the DNC, and record promotional videos for DNC use," according to BuzzFeed. She’ll have to appear at a San Francisco fundraiser next month, where donors can pay $10,000 to attend a private cocktail and dinner reception.

The Warren campaign didn’t respond to a request for comment about how it reached out to Jurvetson to get the six-figure donation.

The April donation on Warren’s behalf came on the heels of a disappointing first-quarter fundraising haul of $6 million. However, she raised $19.1 million in the second quarter and has established herself in the top tier of the crowded 2020 field.

Warren established a populist tone for her campaign with a pledge, writing in February, "We’re going to take the time presidential candidates typically reserve for courting wealthy donors and instead, use it to build organizing event after organizing event in the early primary states and across the country."

Death threat, sexist jokes: Puerto Rico governor refuses to resign after text messages leak

Ricardo Rosselló had his hands full with corruption scandals before this, but now he’s going to need serious juggling skills. The leak of messages from a group chat the Puerto Rico governor administrated exposed profane and offensive jokes between Rosselló and his allies, including a joke about assassinating one of his political opponents. Puerto Ricans are rallying in the streets demanding Rosselló’s resignation, but at least thus far Rosselló is remaining defiant:

The governor was the administrator of this chat room, where they discussed setting up a troll network to go after anyone seen as critical of this administration.

The leaked chat room conversations among Rosselló and 11 others are laced with profane, homophobic and sexist comments, and in one case even a death threat against the mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulín Cruz. The governor’s chief financial officer, Christian Sobrino, wrote, “I’m dying to shoot her up.” Rosselló replied, “You’d be doing me a big favor.” …

Arnaldo Claudio was one of the people targeted in the group chat. He was appointed by the Justice Department five years ago to bring reform to Puerto Rico’s police department.

“That is really scary in a democracy,” Claudio said. “This is not right at all, and it needs to be condemned. They cannot have people like this trying to coerce people or trying to use their level in government to harm people. It’s wrong.”

Claudio’s not alone in that assessment. The situation in the streets is bad enough that Rosselló had to deploy police in riot gear to contain the protests. The first leaks were bad enough, but the damage grew rapidly as the full set of messages got published, showing Rosselló giving the middle finger to others … literally, in one case:

Mr. Rosselló, 40, apologized on Thursday after an excerpt from the chat was first published by local media showing he had referred to Melissa Mark-Viverito, the former speaker of the New York City Council, who was born in Puerto Rico, using the Spanish word for “whore.” In English, he also used a profane expression in reference to the oversight board that controls Puerto Rico’s finances, followed by emojis of a raised middle finger. …

But on Saturday morning, the Center for Investigative Journalism published the entirety of the leaked chat, which spanned from late 2018 to January and included Mr. Rosselló and 11 other men in his close political circle. The cache of messages showed that the governor and his current and former aides had also derided many others, including leaders of their New Progressive Party and the Puerto Rican celebrity Ricky Martin.

Wait — Rosselló insulted Ricky Martin on Telegram? Never mind the joke death threat and the profane insults to his own party’s leadership. This alone makes Rosselló toast in Puerto Rico.

All joking aside, Rosselló may have a very large legal headache on his hands. If he planned a campaign of intimidation against Claudio for his DoJ reforms, that is something that might seriously interest the FBI. Even without a criminal investigation, the impression that Rosselló was more concerned about setting up troll farms than dealing with recovery efforts after Hurricane Maria will put a stake through Rosselló’s political ambitions. At the moment, Rosselló’s own party has backed away from demands for his resignation, but that may only be a brief respite. They’re not going to want to carry Rosselló for very long.

By the way, who thought it was a good idea for the governor to run a Telegram chat room in the first place? Did no one stop and think, “Maybe we shouldn’t be writing this down?” Does no one remember Richard Nixon’s Oval Office taping system, for Pete’s sake?
