Leftists mock Ted Cruz for…protecting them from coronavirus

What is it with the left and its seeming desire to kill others?

First we had a far-left Denver city councilwoman, Candi CdeBaca, endorse the intentional spreading of coronavirus among political opponents in order to kill them, with a repulsive “#solidarity Yaaaas!!“ 

Now we have leftists mocking Sen. Ted Cruz for self-quarantining, after being exposed to a coronavirus patient at the CPAC conference, in order to prevent any spread of the disease to others, including political opponents. That includes leftists in Congress and anyone else. Given that coronavirus exposure sometimes turns well people into “superspreaders,” it was a highly responsible and empathetic thing to do. Cruz put others before himself in this selfless act, protecting even leftists.

 

 

Instead of drawing praise and encouragement, leftists went into catcall mode (fortunately not all of them, but huge numbers of them), chirrupping about what a great thing it is to have Cruz go away. As if infectious diseases pick political sides and Democrats, or cripes, anyone, friend or foe, are somehow immune, so time to cheer the affected Ted. How fine it is to feel superior. This is the thinking of people who are crazed in their hatred of conservatives. It’s the thinking of people who are fundamentally unserious about pandemics — and for sure unfit to lead the country on such an event.

The Republican reaction, by contrast, has been serious – and non-partisan.

To take one example, Iranian officials, including at least one very nasty one directly responsible for holding Americans hostage in 1979, have died from exposure to coronavirus, yet nobody on the rightside is cheering. You don’t see cheerleading tweets from President Trump on the topic, or even blame-gaming — if you had only done this..

The only thing President Trump has offered to Iran is … help, something the mullahs can’t bear to take. But the record stands. Trump is not only not wishing them no ill from the pandemic, he’s reaching out to them with offers of help.

The left just doesn’t seem to understand that joking about pandemics, and abusing those who behave responsibly is a revolting reflection on them. Not only is it mean-spirited, it’s kind of murder-happy. And the incredible thing is, it fails to understand the nature of the enemy here – a virus that can spread to anyone nearby with no regard for ideology. For normals, that’s like cheering and denying use of a garden hose when a hated next-door neighbor’s house is on fire and then getting surprised when the fire spreads. Any doofus out there would know that would happen, but not the left.

The only thing the left should be saying to Cruz is ‘thank you.’

They ought to be embarrassed. They’ve now shown us “who they are.”

Horowitz: Pro-criminal organizations blocking Georgia Gov. Kemp’s anti-gang bill

Just how powerful is the “criminal justice reform” movement in our political scene? Well, not only is Kim Kardashian directing criminal justice policy at the White House, but every state has a cadre of well-monied organizations vouching for criminals and leaving forgotten law-abiding Americans behind to deal with the carnage. What’s most offensive is that they are using racial pandering to push pro-criminal ideas that actually harm African-Americans more than anyone. Nowhere is this more evident than in Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s fight for anti-gang legislation.

While many GOP governors are joining with the Soros Democrats to push weak-on-crime laws, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is headed in the opposite direction. He understands, as Reagan did, that “criminal justice reform” means focusing on victims of crime and public safety. During his State of the State address in January, he pledged to introduce anti-gang legislation to combat the growing gang violence in metro Atlanta, an area that is experiencing an increase in both violent and property crimes.

With support of the governor and state attorney general, one would think that toughening sentencing on gang members would be a no-brainer in a state like Georgia. After all, Republicans enjoy a 103-75 majority in the House and a 35-21 majority in the Senate. But RINOs in the House joined with left-wing pro-gang organizations to gut the governor’s bill, H.B. 994, before it could pass committee. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that activist groups convinced some House Republicans to gut the bill and force amendments at a hearing last week.

Under the original proposal from the governor, juveniles who commit violent crimes as gang members would be charged as adults; gang members who commit crimes in multiple jurisdictions would be tried for all crimes in one county; and those who committed murder as gang members would be eligible for the death penalty upon conviction. All of those provisions were stripped from the bill.

Evidently, the deep concern of jailbreak advocates for “low-level, nonviolent offenders” has now transmogrified to advocacy for the most violent gang members. Much of the murder and mayhem in this country is committed by gang members, increasingly at a young age because there is no deterrent against gangs any more. Georgia has 71,000 gang members, 50,000 in the metro Atlanta area. DeKalb County experienced record murders last year, up 40 percent from the previous year, as arrest rates plummeted in the region thanks to “criminal justice reform.”

As politicians wring their hands to “do something” about mass shootings, they miss the point that most murder in this country is gang-related. Deterring violent gang members should be bipartisan, yet we can’t even get many Republicans to stand up to the de-incarceration crowd to get tougher on violent criminals.

Liberals in Georgia, just like Kim Kardashian, only care about criminals like Myliek Ryshiem Dunn, not his victims. Dunn is charged in Cobb County with gang-related murder, armed robbery, and rape of an 11-year-old. He is a juvenile, but that is no solace to his victims. They don’t deserve less justice, and society at large doesn’t deserve a lesser deterrent against juveniles capable of committing such crimes. Yet these are the people tugging at the hearts of the political activists, not the victims.

As in most states, the lack of deterrent against juveniles is a problem in Georgia. In January, I reported on an Atlanta teen who had a massive rap sheet and was not locked up who went on to allegedly rape and beat a mother of two in a park. He was offered bail even after the brutal rape.

On Friday, New York City police released a video of what appears to be a pack of several dozen violent teenagers beating one 15-year-old girl unconscious.

This is far from petty theft. Is the damage to the victim less severe and the public safety threat less potent because these grown violent perpetrators happen to be under 18?

According to the Atlanta Repeat Offender Commission, in 2017 and 2018, just 23 percent of repeat offenders arrested by Atlanta police were sentenced to any degree of confinement by Fulton County Superior Court judges — a decrease of nearly 14 percent from those sentenced in 2016. The most common sentence issued by a Fulton judge was “time served.”

The result? Atlanta police are experiencing a 22 percent increase in auto thefts this year. But rather than getting tougher on violent criminals and gangs, the bipartisan criminal lobby wants to diminish deterrent and weaken our justice system even further.

Liberals suggest you can’t arrest your way out of the gang problem, but what we are seeing across the country and in Atlanta is that you can release your way into the problem.

Twitter Labels Video Shared by Trump as ‘Manipulated Media’

Social media platform Twitter labeled a video recently shared by President Donald Trump with its “manipulated media” tag, which is meant to describe media that has been “significantly and deceptively altered or fabricated.”

TechCrunch reports that a video recently shared by President Trump was labeled with a “manipulated media” tag by Twitter. The label, which was announced as part of a new policy last month, is designed to apply to media that has been “significantly and deceptively altered or fabricated.”

The video retweeted by the president was originally posted by the White House director of social media Dan Scavino. The video used footage taken during a speech by Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in which the former vice president fumbled his words and stated  “Excuse me. We can only re-elect Donald Trump,” before pausing and adding “if in fact we get engaged in this circular firing squad here. It’s gotta be a positive campaign.”

The video shared by Scavino only includes Biden stating: “Excuse me. We can only re-elect Donald Trump.” Twitter’s manipulated media label began to appear on the video of Biden to some users on Sunday evening. Twitter says that it examines video metadata, the context of the tweets, and the Twitter user’s public information to determine how it labels videos as “misleading.” The platform has not stated how decided to apply the label to the clip, which does not change Biden’s words although it does remove them from context, as “significantly and deceptively altered or fabricated.”

Twitter’s new policy is a response to years of criticism that the site has faced for failing to prevent harassment and “toxicity” on its platform. Twitter has previously also faced calls from Democrats to remove President Trump entirely from its platform, a move that Twitter has refused to make. Twitter has stated that it believes preserving tweets from public officials is important in order to foster debate on the platform.

Politico: Major Questions Swirling About Joe Biden’s Brother After FBI Raid, Legal Filings

Shortly after revelations about a potentially problematic land deal involving James Biden, the FBI raided a health care business connected to the former Vice President’s younger brother and former business partners filed legal complaints that he may have “fraudulently transferred” funds.

On Monday, Politico reported on a January 30 FBI raid of a healthcare business that is raising yet more questions about the financial dealings of the Democratic presidential frontrunner’s younger brother — and points to, as Politico puts it, “potential pitfalls for the former vice president.”

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation raided a health care business linked to Joe Biden’s brother in late January, seizing boxes of documents,” Politico reports. “The raid of an Americore Health hospital represented a deepening of the legal morass surrounding James Biden’s recent venture into healthcare investing at a time when questions about the business dealings of Joe Biden’s relatives, and their alleged connection to the former vice president’s public service, continue to dog his presidential campaign.”

“In the weeks since the raid, two small medical firms that did business with James Biden have claimed in civil court proceedings to have obtained evidence that he may have fraudulently transferred funds from Americore ‘outside of the ordinary course of business,’ and a former Americore executive has told POLITICO that James Biden had over half a million dollars transferred to him from the firm as a personal loan that has not yet been repaid,” the left-leaning outlet reports.

Politico notes that the exact purpose of the raid still remains unclear and that “there is no indication” whether it was related to James Biden. Biden has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing, while the owner of the business, Americore, “has faced legal problems and allegations of mismanagement that are unrelated to James Biden,” Politico points out.

However, recent legal filings provided to Politico indicate that the relationship between Americore and James Biden might prove to be problematic for not only him but his frontrunning brother:

But recent filings in ongoing legal proceedings, along with new accounts provided to POLITICO by former Americore executives and others, point to potential pitfalls for the former vice president, painting the fullest picture to date of James Biden’s healthcare dealings and the ways in which they allegedly related to his powerful older brother. In 2017 and 2018, James Biden was embarking on a foray into healthcare investing, telling potential partners, including at Americore, that his last name could open doors and that Joe Biden was excited about the public policy implications of their business models, according to court filings and interviews with former business contacts of James’s.

Tom Pritchard, a former Americore executive familiar with the firm’s finances, told POLITICO that James Biden’s arrival exacerbated Americore’s financial problems. Holding out the promise of a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections, James Biden introduced Americore’s founder to his older brother and helped land a bridge loan to Americore from a hedge fund, Pritchard said. But then, Pritchard said, James Biden received a six-figure personal loan out of Americore’s coffers while encouraging the firm to take on greater financial liabilities. The cash infusion from the Middle East never arrived, and, Pritchard says, James Biden has not paid back the loan, the terms of which are unknown. (Read Politico’s full report here.)

Politico’s report follows its January 28 report on a 2005 land deal involving Biden’s brother James Biden and Scott Green, who was a staffer in the 1980s and 1990s for then-Senator Biden before becoming a lobbyist. Green’s clients, Politico explains, “benefited from Biden’s support and appropriations requests” both “before and after” the deal with his brother.

SHOCKER: Iran Blames America And The Jews For Coronavirus

The despotic theocratic regime in Iran, unsurprisingly, is blaming America and the Jews for the coronavirus outbreak in Iran that has now claimed the life of  the former Iranian ambassador to Syria as well as an adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini.

The Jerusalem Post reports, “Over the last several days, Iran has pushed several reports claiming that ‘Zionists’ were behind the coronavirus. Press TV also quoted the same website that was at the center of an antisemitic article from 2017 that claimed “America’s Jews are driving America’s wars.”

The Post added, “On March 5, Press TV claimed that ‘Zionist elements developed a deadlier strain of coronavirus against Iran.’ Although the report claimed to reference a foreign ‘academic,’ it fits the pattern of Iran using foreign experts to give the regime’s own views a patina of authority.

The leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Salami, has claimed the virus was “biological warfare” that came from the United States, asserting on March 5, “We are now dealing with a biological war,” and that it “may be the product of American biological warfare.” The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was named a foreign terrorist organization by the Trump administration in April 2019.  President Trump stated:

Today, I am formally announcing my Administration’s plan to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including its Qods Force, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.  This unprecedented step, led by the Department of State, recognizes the reality that Iran is not only a State Sponsor of Terrorism, but that the IRGC actively participates in, finances, and promotes terrorism as a tool of statecraft.  The IRGC is the Iranian government’s primary means of directing and implementing its global terrorist campaign.

On Sunday, Press TV linked to the claim that the U.S.  is waging “biological warfare,” and cited an article blaming Israel, claiming a “former CIA officer” stated “the US and Israel are working together.”

As The Daily Wire reported on March 2, some Iranians reportedly defied conventional wisdom regarding the coronavirus and deliberately licked Islamic shrines believed to be infected with coronavirus to prove that they were not afraid of the epidemic, some even declaring that they hope they are infected.

The Middle East Media Research Institute reported, “Iranians have posted several videos on social media, featuring devout Shiites licking holy shrines in defiance of the coronavirus. In some of the videos, worshippers say they are licking the shrines in order to infect themselves, thus protecting future pilgrims to the shrines from contracting the virus. On March 1, 2020, a pilgrim posted a video of himself licking the steel bars protecting the window of a Shiite shrine.”

One man stated, “If there are diseases or microbes there, let them enter our bodies and the bodies of our children, so that nothing happens to the pilgrims visiting Imam Reza.”

Bloomberg reported on March 7, “The number of cases jumped more than 20% to 5,823, a health ministry spokesman said Saturday on state television. There were 21 additional deaths, bringing the total to 145 — third highest in the world.”

Petition to Release Secret Govt Report on Grooming Gangs Smashes 80,000 in Days

More than 80,000 people signed an official petition demanding the release of a suppressed report on the ethnic background of grooming gangs over the weekend.

“The Government is refusing to release official research on the characteristics of grooming gangs, claiming it is not in the ‘public interest’,” the petition begins.

“We, the British public, demand the release of the official research on grooming gangs undertaken by the Government in full.”

Official petitions which break 10,000 signatures require an official response from the government — which has not yet been given — and petitions which break 100,000 signatures much be considered for a full parliamentary debate.

Former Home Secretary Sajid Javid, as the petition reminds viewers, “promised the review as Home Secretary in July 2018, pledging that there would be ‘no no-go areas of inquiry’” and that he would “not let cultural or political sensitivities get in the way of understanding the problem and doing something about it”.

Shortly afterwards, however, the Home Office announced that it would be keeping the report “internal”, and has now officially refused a Freedom of Information request attempting to force its release — on grounds that this would not be “in the public interest” and undermine “the ‘safe space’ necessary for ministers and officials to consider policy options in private”.

Previous probes and independent reports have indicated that grooming gangs are comprised overwhelmingly of Muslim men, usually with roots in Pakistan, and their victims are overwhelmingly white working-class girls — although Sikhs and Hindus have also been targetted.

The decision to suppress the review was reportedly a source of friction between Priti Patel, the current Home Secretary, and Sir Philip Rutnam, the former Permanent Secretary who served as the Home Office’s top bureaucrat until his dramatic resignation.

The decision was also met with outrage from many campaigners and members of the public, especially given the context of grooming gang abuse having been ignored by police and local government officials for decades — for fear taking action would cause tension with the Muslim community or lead to accusations of racism.

To the surprise of many, even Diane Abbott, the Labour party’s far-left Shadow Home Secretary, has called for the report to be released.

“There must be no more cover-ups around these horrific crimes and no more inaction from the government,” she said in comments reported by the Independent.

“Many of the girls will never recover from the abuse they suffered and they and their families deserve all the facts. This report should be published.”

BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Joe Biden’s Former IT Director, Warren Flood, Implicated in ‘Russia Hacked the DNC Email’ Narrative

On June 16, 2019, we presented arguments against the Mueller gang’s assertion that the DNC was hacked by Russians. Cyber expert Yaacov Apelbaum posted an incredible report with information basically proving that the DNC was not hacked by the Russians.

Today we have support implicating an IT Direct0r, Warren Flood, connected to Joe Biden.  Flood is linked to the ‘Russia hacked the DNC hoax’.

Last year we reported a series of arguments proving that there is no proof that Russians hacked the DNC.  These arguments came from cyber expert Yaacov Apelbaum whose first argument was this –

According to the WaPo (using CrowdStrike, DOJ, and their other usual hush-hush government sources in the know), the attack was perpetrated by a Russian unit lead by Lieutenant Captain Nikolay Kozachek who allegedly crafted a malware called X-Agent and used it to get into the network and install keystroke loggers on several PCs. This allowed them to see what the employees were typing and take screenshots of the employees’ computer.

This is pretty detailed information, but if this was the case, then how did the DOJ learn all of these ‘details’ and use them in the indictments without the FBI ever forensically evaluating the DNC/HRC computers? And since when does the DOJ, an organization that only speaks the language of indictments use hearsay and 3rd parties like the British national Matt Tait (a former GCHQ collector and a connoisseur of all things related to Russian collusion), CrowdStrike, or any other evidence lacking chain of custody certification as a primary source for prosecution?

A second point by Apelbaum was –

… that three of the Russian GRU officers on the DOJ wanted list were allegedly working concurrently on multiple non-related projects like interfering with the 2016 United States elections (both HRC and DNC) while at the same time they were also allegedly hacking anti-doping agencies.

Above are pictures of the individuals the FBI says were working on both the DNC/HRC email hacking and the Olympic doping projects.

The same guys were working on both projects which is all but impossible. (Do we really know if they’re even Russians?)

Apelbaum argues –

The fact that the three had multiple concurrent high impact and high visibility project assignments is odd because this is not how typical offensive cyber intelligence teams operate. These units tend to be compartmentalized, they are assigned to a specific mission, and the taskforce stays together for the entire duration of the project.

Next Apelbaum questioned the Mueller gang’s assertion that the ‘hacker’ named Guccifer 2.0 was a Russian –

Any evidence that Guccifer 2.0 is Russian should be evaluated while keeping these points in mind:

  1. He used a Russian VPN service to cloak his IP address, but did not use TOR. Using a proxy to conduct cyber operations is a SOP [Standard Operating Procedure] in all intelligence and LEA [Law Enforcement Agency] agencies. [i.e. Russia would have masked their VPN service]

  2. He used the AOL email service that captured and forwarded his IP address and the same AOL email to contact various media outlets on the same day of the attack. This is so overt and amateurish that its unlikely to be a mistake and seems like a deliberate attempt to leave traceable breadcrumbs.

  3. He named his Office User account Феликс Эдмундович (Felix Dzerzhinsky), after the founder of the Soviet Secret Police. Devices and accounts used in offensive cyberspace operations use random names to prevent tractability and identification. Why would anyone in the GRU use this pseudonym (beside the obvious reason) is beyond comprehension.

  4. He copied the original Trump opposition research document and pasted it into a new .dotm template (with an editing time of about 2 minutes). This resulted in a change of the “Last Modified by” field from “Warren Flood” to “Феликс Эдмундович” and the creation of additional Russian metadata in the document. Why waste the time and effort doing this?

  5. About 4 hours after creating the ‘Russian’ version of the document, he exported it to a PDF using LibreOffice 4.2 (in the process he lost/removed about 20 of the original pages). This was most likely done to show additional ‘Russian fingerprints’ in the form of broken hyperlink error messages in Russian (Images 4 and 5). Why bother with re-formatting and converting the source documents? Why not just get the raw data out in the original format ASAP?

Apelbaum next discussed Guccifer 2.0 –

In June 21, 2016, Lorenzo Franceschi-Bicchierai from Vice Motherboard interviewed a person who identified himself as “Guccifer 2.0”. During their on-line chat session, the individual claimed that he was Romanian (see transcript of the interview below). His poor Romanian language skills were later used to unmask his Russian identify.

…I’m not a scientific linguist nor do I even know where to find one if my life depended on it, but I’m certain that you can’t reliably determine nationality based on someone impersonating another language or from the use of fake metadata in files. This elaborate theory also has the obvious flaw of assuming that the Russian intelligence services are dumb enough to show up to an interview posing as Romanians without actually being able to read and write flaunt Romanian.

Yesterday we noted that based on the process itself, it is highly unlikely Russians hacked the DNC:

Esteemed NSA whistleblower Bill Binney reported in June 2019 that there was no way Russians hacked the DNC based on the speed of the transfer of the data that was hacked. But according to Apelbaum the transfer speeds is a minor issue here. It’s just an indicator that it would have been difficult for Guccifer 2 who was sitting in Romania to access the DNC system remotely.

Per an illustration from Apelbaum, Guccifer 2 is depicted as the red devil icon below:

This illustration shows the Crowdstrike was obviously false in its claims that Russia hacked the DNC.

This is because:

1. If Guccifer 2 did it from Romania (the red devil icon on the left of the illustration), he needed a 23 Mbit/s transfer rate. At the time of this hack in 2016, Romania was only supporting 16Mbit/s speeds. But to do that he had to go through all of the red hell in the middle of the illustration, which I don’t believe he did based on the poor technical skill set he demonstrated during his interview with Motherboard vice.

2. If the leak came from the inside (the half green half red icon in the right side of illustration), he had the full 23 Mbit/s transfer rate because he just plugged-in a USB drive to the computer. He also didn’t need any hacking skills because he most likely had full system access.

The Russian story doesn’t stick, Apelbaum closed with this –

We also know that WikiLeaks stated numerous times that Russia did not provide them with the emails they leaked in 2016 and Julian Assange stated that WikiLeaks had nothing to do with Russia.

But of course the Mueller gang never interviewed WikiLeaks in an effort to determine how they received the Clinton emails. Of course the Mueller team could not risk WikiLeaks saying the emails were not received from Russia which would destroy their Russia hacked the DNC fairy tale.

Today we identify Warren Flood, a Biden protege who appears to have helped create the ‘Russia Hacked the DNC’ narrative:

Apelbaum obtained a parts of the Word and PDF versions of the purported DNC Opposition research document showing the original English template and the pasted version into a Russian template and resulting subsequent broken hyperlink error messages in Russian:

In the image above, on the left it shows the Word doc properties of the document created at 1:38 PM on June 15, 2016. The Company name is given as GSA. This appears to be the General Services Administration (US gov agency), which shows as the Company for MS Office documents created via GSA-contracted copies of MS Word.

(Note that the DNC server wasn’t supposed to be using a GSA-contracted MS Office suite. A number of Democratic politicians and aides (e.g,, many members of the US House of Representatives) had DNC email accounts, but the DNC is a private entity and should not have hosted GSA-contracted software.)

The supposed author of this document is Warren Flood as is noted at the bottom left of the diagram above.  He was Vice President Joe Biden’s IT Director at the White House (which does use GSA registered software).

But interestingly, if you cross-reference this document to the same document in the verified Wikileaks dump, the original author is Lauren Dillon. Lauren Dillon was the DNC Research Director in charge of GOP/Trump research.

Considering the document’s timestamp of June 15th, 2016, it appears that a user on a computer registered to Warren Flood (GSA) opened the DNC document (authored by Lauren Dillon), copied it, and pasted it to a new document.  Then the user on the Warren Flood computer set the theme language to Russian and modified the document’s ‘Author’ field to Феликс Эдмундович.  After this the user likely uploaded the modified document to the Guccifer 2.0 WordPress website and published it to various media outlets.  (Remember as noted above, Guccifer 2.0 is likely made up.)

Based on the document metadata there is little doubt that either Warren Flood (who BTW, speaks Russian), or someone using his GSA licensed MS Word software created the Russian fingerprint. Also, it’s important to note that several other documents also show this type of manipulation, but they were created by users named “Blake” and “jbs836”.

In terms of the big picture, it is possible that whoever added the Russian fingerprint did this as part of laying the ground work or for future unmasking. We know that in June 2016 the Obama administration (via people like Susan Rice, John Brennan, and Samantha Power) started unmasking Trump campaign officials on the pretext of ‘Russian interference’.  This June 2016 activity overlaps with dates of the Guccifer 2.0 saga.

So, it is possible that Guccifer 2.0 and MSM outlets like the NYTimes who promoted him were part of a larger campaign to affirm Russian interference with the DNC hacks.

If this is indeed the case, then it means that the DNC email leak could implicate Obama administration officials who were doing all this document manipulation on government time and on GSA registered computers all in an effort to tie Russia to the DNC email heist.

Based on information available today, there is no way Russians hacked the DNC. This was made up from the start.  Now we know that the Obama White House, and specifically Warren Flood, is involved in the Russian hoax.

Dr. Drew On Coronavirus: Media ‘Hurting People,’ ‘Need To Be Held Accountable’ For Causing Panic

Physician David Drew Pinsky, commonly referred to as Dr. Drew, slammed the media in a CBS News interview late last week, saying that it is responsible for causing the American public to panic, which is hurting businesses and people.

“A bad flu season is 80,000 dead, we’ve got about 18,000 dead from influenza this year, we have a hundred from corona,” Dr. Drew said. “Which should you be worried about, influenza or Corona? A hundred versus 18,000? It’s not a trick question. And look, everything that’s going on with the New York cleaning the subways and everyone using Clorox wipes and get your flu shot, which should be the other message, that’s good. That’s a good thing, so I have no problem with the behaviors.”

“What I have a problem with is the panic and the fact that businesses are getting destroyed, that people’s lives are being upended, not by the virus, but by the panic,” Dr. Drew continued. “The panic must stop. And the press, they really somehow need to be held accountable because they are hurting people.”

CBS NEWS: “So you’ve seen pandemics over the decades, how does this one compare with everything?”

CBS NEWS: “So, where do you think the panic started? Besides the press, like what was the impetus in terms of mass hysteria?”

DR. DREW: “I saw it, there’s a footage of me on a show called The Daily Blast Live a month ago, going ‘shouldn’t we be scared about this?’ and me going ‘no, there’s gonna be as potential for panic here, shut up everybody, stop talking about it, I could see the panic brewing, and I could just see it the way the innuendo and the every opportunity for drama by the press was twisted in that direction. Let me give you an example: so the World Health Organization is out now saying the fatality rate from the virus is 3.4%, right? Every publication from the WHO says 3.4% and we expect it to fall dramatically once we understand the full extent of the illness. No one ever reports the actual statement. We go 3.4% that’s 10 times more than the, whatever five times more than the flu virus and yeah it’s gonna be a little more [than the] flu probably. Still not a bad flu season.”

CBS NEWS: “Right, we’re gonna hear about more cases, more people died.”

DR. DREW: “There are probably several people in this building that probably have it and don’t know it.”

CBS NEWS: “Right, well it was also just the process of letting the public know, the stock market, the number of tests that were available, there was so much happening, I think people were freaking out as a result of that.”

DR. DREW: “I think there was it was a concerted effort by the press to capture your eyes and in doing so they did it by inducing panic. There’s, listen, the CDC and the WHO, they know what they are doing, they contain pandemics, that’s how they know how to do it, they’re doing an amazing job.”

CBS NEWS: “What about the global implications of this because we were talking off-camera about Italy, there’s China as well, there’s some little outbreaks where you should avoid.

DR. DREW: “There are, I would look out where there flus out breaking bad to. I ended up getting the bird flu, I got H1N1 and it was horrible. It was no fun. … There’s certain things having been a physician for almost forty years, there are certain things I just know … and there’s certain things I just know by virtue of all the experience I’ve had and so when I saw this one coming, the corona, I thought I know how this is gonna go, I see kind of what it is and then I saw the excessive reaction the press, so I have to respond and then people, the weird part on social media towards me as people are angry with me, angry with me for trying to get them to see reality and calm down.”
