Jersey Cops Arrest Black Gun Owner Over Licensed Gun, Legal Ammo

A New Jersey gun owner is fighting charges for carrying a firearm for which he had a permit and ammunition state police have publicly said is legal.

Roosevelt Twyne, a 25-year-old African-American security guard, was arrested by Roselle Park Police in February after a traffic stop stemming from tinted windows on his car. Evan Nappen, Twyne’s attorney, told the Washington Free Beacon that his client was then erroneously charged for illegally carrying a firearm and being in possession of so-called hollow point ammunition.

"He was arrested for the hollow point ammunition," Nappen told the Free Beacon. "Then they claimed he was transporting his handgun illegally. He had a permit to carry a handgun. The law … makes it clear that it’s illegal to transport unless you are licensed pursuant to chapter 58. And that is precisely what a handgun carry permit is."

Nappen said the ammunition that led to Twyne’s arrest was the same ammunition issued by his employer. He also pointed to a New Jersey State Police website that says the polymer-tipped Hornady "Critical Duty" ammunition in question is "not considered to be hollow point ammunition" and not illegal to possess in the state—the website goes so far as to specifically name "Critical Duty" as an example of legal ammunition.

"It’s lawful," Nappen told the Free Beacon. "It’s publicly announced as lawful because it is. It’s not hollow. It’s filled."

Roselle Park police chief Daniel J. McCaffery did not return a request for comment. The Union County Prosecutor’s Office did not respond to questions about the charges against Twyne but did say his case will be heard next month in New Jersey Superior Court.

The charges against Twyne are representative of the difficulties of navigating New Jersey’s gun laws, which are among the strictest in the nation. They may also reveal issues in the police’s understanding of the state’s voluminous, complex gun restrictions. The case also shows how disruptive gun-related charges can be, even when the accused has a clean record and is not alleged to have done anything violent.

Twyne said he has not been able to work in nearly a month and his life has been turned upside down.

"Honestly, it’s been traumatic and has impacted my life in a way that I’ve never experienced before," he told the Free Beacon in a statement. "It’s hard because now even looking for a part time job or any job, it’s made it so much harder for me. Not only has it tainted my name and reputation, which I have worked hard to attain, not just growing up in Elizabeth, but as a black man trying to make a difference."

Nappen said the three police officers, who were white, did not make any racist remarks during the arrest but said the issue of race is the "elephant in the room."

"They didn’t make racist comments," he said. "They didn’t say anything racist but, on its face, it’s dubious. Let’s just say it’s dubious."

Many of the earliest gun-control measures instituted in the United States were directed at disarming African Americans and other minorities. Many "black codes" put into place throughout the South in the wake of the Civil War banned the ownership or carry of firearms by African Americans. Gun-control provisions targeted at African Americans or in response to their activism continued through the Civil Rights era.

Racial concerns over gun-control laws and their enforcement remain today. In 2018, the Department of Justice reported African Americans are most likely to be convicted of federal gun crimes and most likely to face jail time over those crimes.

The modern gun-control movement has also faced criticism for racially tinged policies and statements. Michael Bloomberg, the former New York mayor and prominent funder of gun-control groups nationwide who recently dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary, ran a controversial stop-and-frisk program that he said tried to keep people from carrying guns. The policy remained in place until 2013 when the program was drastically curtailed by a federal judge’s ruling, which said it targeted "blacks and Hispanics who would not have been stopped if they were white."

Igor Volsky, executive director of gun-control activist group Guns Down America, came under scrutiny for saying the gun industry’s efforts to sell firearms to minorities and women were "incredibly dangerous" last month. Maj Toure, an African-American gun-rights advocate, said "the overt racism of gun control rears its ugly head again" in response to Volsky’s comments.

Whether or not race was a factor in Twyne’s stop, Nappen said he should have been released without charges once police reviewed his gun-carry permit.

"Once they got all of his licenses, he’s a block away from home and everything is clear now," he said. "You arrest him and put these charges on him? I mean, who is this person we’re dealing with now? This isn’t some gang banger that they’ve been trying to get forever and they finally can put something on him because he’s such a danger to the public. This is a good guy. Licensed. He just showed you everything. He’s not a danger to anybody. He’s a good guy on our side. On the side of law and order. Why is he then subjected to the next phase with both the charges that are baseless?"

Nappen said Twyne’s ordeal reminded him of former client Shaneen Allen, an African-American mother of two who spent two days in a New Jersey jail on gun-carry charges before being pardoned by then-governor Chris Christie (R.) in 2015. Allen, a Pennsylvania resident, was stopped by a New Jersey police officer for an illegal lane change while on her way to a birthday party for one of her sons. She was arrested and faced years of prison time for carrying a gun because New Jersey does not recognize her Pennsylvanian gun-carry permit—something she did not realize at the time.

"The difference with Shaneen is she made an honest mistake," Nappen said. "Mr. Roosevelt didn’t make any mistakes. Shaneen was an injustice without a doubt but here even completely obeying the law you still become a victim of gun laws. It’s ridiculous."

A crowdfunding effort to pay for Twyne’s defense has raised nearly $5,500 from 189 donors as of Friday.

Twyne’s case will be heard by Judge Robert Kirsch at 9 a.m. on April 2, according to the prosecutor’s office.

I had a Super Tuesday. I want to share it with you.

I spoke at the Nevada Republican Club this past “Super Tuesday.” Or as Joe Biden calls it, “Super Thursday.” It was the biggest sell-out in the club’s history. It was a madhouse. Hundreds attended. Many more were turned away. It was sold out far in advance- something that has never happened before.

The crowd was wild, enthusiastic, the atmosphere was electric. These were 50-year old Republicans acting like they were attending a rock concert.

What was all the excitement about? Nevada’s Republicans know I’m President Trump’s staunchest national media defender and champion, from the state of Nevada. They know I celebrate Trump every day on radio, TV and in newspapers. And they can’t get enough. They love Trump. They are sick of the negative, biased, “fake news” from the mainstream media. They want to hear positive news about Trump. They want to celebrate Trump.

There are quite a few lessons to be learned from my experience.

First, Trump is the most popular politician in America. The intensity and enthusiasm hasn’t worn off one iota after three years. If anything, it’s the highest in history. People love Trump. This crowd cheered when I called Trump “the G.O.A.T. (the greatest of all time). They want more Trump.

Second, the mainstream media isn’t just wrong about Trump. They’re wrong about Coronavirus too. If things are so bad; if this is the biggest health crisis ever; if no one wants to go out in public anymore; how could my speech attract the biggest crowd in the Nevada Republican Club history? As usual, the media’s wrong. They can’t stop the Trump lovefest, or the Trump economy.

Third, Democrats put Joe Biden in the driver’s seat on “Super Thursday” as Biden calls it. The man is way past his due date. He doesn’t know where he is half the time. He thinks half the population of America was killed by guns. He mixed up his wife and sister on stage Tuesday night. He called Chris Wallace “Chuck” during an interview.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Joe thinks he’s running against Calvin Coolidge. The man is dazed and confused. Democrats may rue the day they got what they wished for.

Mike Bloomberg spent $600 million and got nothing for it. He won only American Somoa. He could have bought American Somoa for that price. He learned a lesson- a politician can’t buy love.

That’s why I think Democrats have made a huge mistake with Joe Biden. My experience at the Nevada Republican Club proves it. Trump inspires deep love, passion and intensity. Biden is another Bloomberg. No one gets excited for Joe. Joe doesn’t inspire young voters. His rallies can be held in a phone booth. Biden’s support is a mile wide and an inch thick.

Biden reminds me of a crappy version of Hillary Clinton circa 2016. He’s another old, corrupt, establishment hack with the support of Democrat party bosses. But the voters won’t get excited. He brings nothing new to the table. He’s Hillary 2.0.

By the time this election over, Democrats will be longing for what could have been with Bernie and his passionate, enthusiastic fan base.

Twitter rolled out new rules against “dehumanizing speech” and included “age” to shield old dementia Joe Biden from scrutiny.

The far-left social media giant provided a few examples of tweets that will be removed under the new guidelines:

77-year-old Joe Biden’s mental faculties are declining and it’s all hands on deck from the mainstream media and social media to protect him from scrutiny.

Biden can’t even string together a sentence anymore and he has no clue where he is — he actually forgot he was running to be US President!

Biden told a South Carolina crowd last week that he’s the ‘Democratic candidate for the United States Senate.’

“My name is Joe Biden. I’m a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate. Look me over. [slurs words]..if you don’t like me, you can vote for the other Biden — give me a look though, okay?”

Super Tuesday, which Biden referred to as “Super Thursday,” was also a disaster.

Biden confused his own wife and sister during his victory speech.

It is our job to question Biden’s acuity because he is running for the highest office of the land, but the tech overlords are working overtime to silence the truth.

More Migrants Deported than Apprehended at Border over Last 5 Months, Say Feds

During the past five months, federal law enforcement officials deported or repatriated approximately 14,000 more migrants than arrived at the U.S.-Mexico Border. CBP Acting Commissioner Mark Morgan said this illustrated the results of ending “Catch and Release.”

“In the past 5 months, since the president announced the end of ‘Catch and Release,’ approximately 14,000 more unlawful aliens were deported or returned than arrived at the southwest border,” DHS officials tweeted on Thursday.

Commissioner Morgan told reporters on Thursday that new policies put in place by the Trump Administration led to fewer asylum seekers being released into the interior of the United States.

“The last five months, the number of those we remove have outpaced the number of those we encounter at the Southwest border,” Morgan said. “We are applying a consequence or a removal pathway to 95 percent of those we encounter,” Morgan said. He went on to describe this as “the end of catch and release.”

Since the beginning of the current fiscal year (October 1, 2019), Border Patrol agents and CBP officers apprehended or classified as inadmissible 202,226 migrants. During that same period, immigration officers or CBP officers removed or repatriated 216,132 migrants. This resulted in a net outflow of 13,904.

The number of migrant crossings historically increase from January to February. In 2019, the number of migrant apprehensions increased by 30 percent. However, this year, the numbers only increased by about 1.3 percent (430 migrants).

“Because of our reforms, we are not positioning ourselves for another 2019,” DHS officials said in a written statement. “We’re averting it.

Officials said February 2020 was the 3rd best February in the past 21 years.

Donald Trump Signs $8.3 Billion Coronavirus Emergency Spending Bill

President Donald Trump signed an $8.3 billion emergency funding bill early Friday to assist the fight against the coronavirus.

“So, we’re signing the $8.3 billion. I asked for two and a half and I got 8.3 and I’ll take it,” Trump said to reporters before leaving the White House in the morning.

The president acknowledged the spread of coronavirus was unprecedented but his administration was prepared to fight it.

“It’s an unforeseen problem … came out of nowhere, but we’re taking care of it,” he said.

Trump said he was continuing to work with local officials to respond to the outbreak of the virus.

He said he spoke with governor Gavin Newsom and said he would test the 2,422 guests and 1,111 crew members currently aboard a Grand Princess cruise ship off the coast of San Francisco.

Trump said that he might still visit the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, but said there were some concerns about whether one of the staff had the coronavirus.

“I may be going,” he said.

Donald Trump Rejects Lindsey Graham’s Push for DACA Amnesty

President Donald Trump and a group of GOP senators quickly rejected a DACA amnesty deal pushed by Sen. Lindsey Graham on Thursday afternoon – but left the door open to future negotiations.

They will now wait until after the Supreme Court decides on the legality of Barack Obama’s work permit giveaway to 800,000 younger illegals, says multiple media reports.

The quick amnesty pitch by Graham (R-SC) was rejected when GOP Senators urged Trump to wait until the court releases its decision, due by June. The court’s decision may give Trump more leverage as he tries to get an immigration reform deal from Democrats, a GOP source told Breitbart News.

Politico reported:

Trump told Republican senators at the White House Thursday that he will punt on a proposal until after an upcoming Supreme Court ruling that could overturn the temporary protections for Dreamers the Obama administration implemented, known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Graham used Politico to spin Trump’s rejection as a win for his pro-employer, cheap-labor policies. He told Politico:

“The take away for me is if the court rules in the president’s favor, we’re not going to allow these folks to have their lives turned upside down, but we will try to put together a package that protects the DACA population,” Graham said, adding the package will also address “how the system is so broken.”

Fox News reported also reported Graham’s spin:

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Thursday said President Trump is “receptive” to a package that would keep protections for certain illegal immigrants shielded from deportation under an Obama-era order, while addressing underlying issues within the immigration system, after a meeting with Republican senators at the White House.

“It was good,” he said when asked by Fox News about the meeting. “We don’t know what’s going to happen in June, the president’s already put an offer on the table for 1.8 million DACA-eligible folks to have a pathway to citizenship, but he wants to get something to address the underlying problem.”

The labor and wages issue cuts to the heart of Trump’s presidency. He won the 2016 election on an American First” policy and swore on inauguration day he would push a “Hire American” policy.

But business interests — and his own sympathy for employers — have pushed back on his “Hire American” policy.

The result is Trump zig-zags his way forward with a mix of tough border rules and economic growth policies that have spiked stock for investors and raised wages for lower-skilled blue-collar workers. Trump sometimes boasts about the wage gains for blue collars, but his zig-zag policies have done little for white collar college graduates — or reduce the resident population of at least one million Indian visa workers.

 The GOP Senators at the meeting included Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Tom Cotton (R-Ark), Martha McSally (R-Ariz), Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.),  David Perdue (R.Ga.)  and Thom Tillis (R-NC).

Lee and Cramer are backing the much delayed S.386 bill, which would offer green cards and citizenship to roughly 60,000 Indians each year if they take college graduate jobs from American graduates. Many business groups back Lee’s legislation because it would depress Americans’ salaries and boost investors’ stocks.

Tillis is not a co-sponsor of S.386 but has repeatedly backed legislation allowing employers to import more foreign workers for employers.

In 2017, Johnson backed a bill that would allow states to import foreign workers to replace millions of Americans. The intention of the bill, he said, was “making sure that American businesses have the labor they need.”

Bokhari: Paul Singer Is No Improvement on Jack Dorsey

Conservatives, it may be hard to hear this, but we might have to defend Jack Dorsey.

The hyper-progressive Twitter CEO may have spent the last four years reminding us why Silicon Valley hates conservatives, but his company is now in danger of a takeover by a far more sinister creature: billionaire vulture capitalist Paul Singer.

As Breitbart News reported earlier this week, Singer has purchased a “sizeable” stake in Twitter, and, as an investor, plans to pressure the company to oust CEO Dorsey. However much we may dislike Dorsey, this is not good news.

Singer, for those who don’t know, is the man whose money funded the infamous efforts of oppo-research firm Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on then-candidate Trump in 2015 and 2016. The project, initially funded by the Singer-backed Washington Free Beacon, would later be funded by the DNC and Clinton campaign.

These efforts would result in the hiring of former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele and the creation of the “Trump dossier,” a document full of unhinged allegations about the President’s alleged links to Russia.

As Breitbart News reported in 2017, Singer was one of the main money-men behind the “Never Trump” movement of establishment conservatives furious about the prospect of Trump’s nomination:

The Free Beacon is funded in large part by the New York hedge fund billionaire and major GOP donor Paul Singer. The New York Times reports that Singer initially supported Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) for the Republican nomination, but later spearheaded a campaign to deny Trump the nomination even after Rubio dropped out of the race.

While supporting Republican establishment favorites such as Rubio and 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Singer was a major backer of Common Core and was the founder of a super-PAC that has the express purpose of turning the GOP pro-gay marriage.

The Examiner reports that the Free Beacon was originally part of the 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization — the Center for American Freedom — but in 2014 became a for-profit organization. The Center’s original board of directors includes William Kristol, a prominent “Never Trump” activist.

Let’s compare Singer to Dorsey for a moment.

I’ve never met Dorsey myself, but I have met his current and former employees, some of whom are conservatives. They all say the same thing — Dorsey is an idealistic progressive. His outward image of a sandal-wearing, head-in-the-clouds Silicon Valley hippie is largely genuine.

He’s torn (or so my sources say), between a sentimental attachment to free speech and the constant guilt-tripping, outrage campaigns of Silicon Valley SJWs who demand more censorship. According to my insiders, it is not Dorsey, but people who serve underneath him, like Trust and Safety Chief Del Harvey, who are the primary force behind censorship on the platform.

Singer is different. He’s a globalist and a finance man, with a vested interest in the cozy relationship between corporations and politicians that is threatened by Trump and the populist movement. If he is successful in his push to remove Dorsey as CEO, it is unknown who he would support as a replacement. Would the Saudi Arabian royalty, also an investor in Twitter, get involved too? Either way, it’s doubtful that Dorsey’s replacement would be a friend to populism.

As Tucker Carlson eloquently explained in a segment last year, Singer’s model of “capitalism” is the classic globalist model: buy American companies, sell off their assets, purge their employees, and hoover up the profits from the skeleton company that remains:

“[T]he model is ruthless economic efficiency: Buy a distressed company, outsource the jobs, liquidate the valuable assets, fire middle management, and once the smoke has cleared, dump what remains to the highest bidder, often in Asia,” Carlson explained. “It has happened around the country. It has made a small number of people phenomenally rich. One of them is a New York-based hedge fund manager called Paul Singer, who, according to Forbes, has amassed a personal fortune of more than $3 billion.”

Carlson offered automotive parts supplier Delphi as an example.

“During the last financial crisis, a consortium of hedge funds, including Singer’s Elliott Management, purchased Delphi,” he said. “With Singer and the other funds at the helm, the company took billions of dollars in government bailouts. Obama’s auto-czar compared the tactics to extortion. Once they had the bailout money, the funds moved most of Delphi’s jobs overseas, and then either cut retiree pensions entirely or shifted the costs to taxpayers.”

Singer’s vast wealth depends on a form of predatory financing that is designed to gut blue-collar jobs and the American middle class.

To a progressive hipster like Jack Dorsey, the populist movement and the Trump movement are simply offensive — an affront to his snowflake sensibilities. For someone like Dorsey, seeing a MAGA hat hurts his feelings. It makes him sad.

But to Paul Singer, they’re more than a source of angst — they’re an existential threat to his entire model of doing business. If the populist movement achieves all of its goals, people like Singer will be finished. A distant memory. A footnote in the history of America’s corrupt neoliberal gilded age.

Conservatives rightly condemn Dorsey for his track record of censorship. But consider the following very carefully: is he really more dangerous than Paul Singer?

Dr. Ben Carson Brilliantly Turns Tables on Dems Attacking Mike Pence’s Coronavirus Response

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson defended the coronavirus task force’s handling of the virus from partisan political attacks this week at a news conference.

Carson, who recently joined the task force, defended its efforts to contain the spread of the potentially deadly infectious disease.

“I want to thank the vice president and the president for a very aggressive and careful leadership,” he said Wednesday.

Carson, who was a renowned neurosurgeon before beginning his career in politics and public service, added: “I was involved throughout my neurosurgical career in a lot of very, very complex cases and dealt with a lot of renowned physicians.

“But I must say that the people on this task force are extremely impressive, have been considering all of the various different possibilities, outlining scenarios for all the possibilities that can occur.”

Carson added he believes the risks associated with contracting the disease are low, “largely because of the aggressive actions that have been taken and are continuing to be taken every day.”

The HUD secretary also praised pharmaceutical companies for working together “voluntarily” in order to help to find a way to manage potential outbreaks.

“Wouldn’t that be a great lesson for the politicians?” he joked.

Carson’s comments came in response to partisan criticism of President Donald Trump’s handling of his administration’s preparedness of a possible outbreak of the virus.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in China was reported, Trump has not only acted decisively to help to contain its spread away from the U.S., but also quickly formed a task force in order to deal with the issue.

The president immediately imposed travel restrictions to China in January, just as the virus was starting to grab international headlines. The move was criticized by Democratic lawmakers and members of the establishment media for allegedly helping to sow seeds of racism.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden also claimed the travel restrictions were race-related, The Hill reported.

“This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia — hysterical xenophobia — and fearmongering,” the former vice president said.

Of course, when you’re a far-left Democrat, everything is racist.

In similar fashion, CNN argued that the travel ban could lead to “stigmatizing countries and ethnicities.”

Trump also came under attack for appointing Vice President Mike Pence to head the task force, which itself was criticized for not being adequately racially diverse.

CNN published an article by Michael D’Antonio criticizing Pence as “anti-science.”

“President Donald Trump is again playing the denial game and, unhelpfully, has tapped Vice President Mike Pence — a man who has repeatedly demonstrated his anti-science predilection — to lead the government response,” the article read.

The CNN hit piece also mocked the vice president for praying and blamed him for an outbreak of HIV/AIDS during his time as governor in Indiana.

Members of the establishment media have also falsely claimed that Trump described the coronavirus as a “hoax.”

While people are concerned about the spread of a potentially deadly virus, Democrats have played politics with the federal government’s readiness every step of the way.

That is why it is so crucial to have a figure such as Carson join the government’s official response. He might be a former presidential candidate and a surrogate for Trump, but his area of expertise is in medicine.

The doctor is probably more qualified to speak about the virus than anyone in CNN’s newsroom.

Carson spoke at length to Fox Business host Charles Payne on Tuesday about the task force’s response to the coronavirus and expounded on the criticism from Democrats and the establishment media.

“I suspect if Jesus Christ was on the committee, they would have a complaint about that,” he said.

Carson also promised the task force is staying ahead of the curve to respond to any changes with the disease.

As of Friday, 98,424 cases of coronavirus have been reported worldwide, and 3,386 people have died from the virus.

Twelve Americans are among those dead after being infected with coronavirus, NBC News reported.

Watch Bizarre Moment Tlaib Seems To Think Conservatives Want To Have Sex with Her

The Supreme Court is currently hearing arguments about whether or not a Louisiana law that requires, among other things, abortionists to have admitting privileges at local hospitals should stand.

It’s the first major test of abortion law at the Supreme Court level on a court where Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh are part of the bench.

The specifics of the law, I’d wager, won’t be what most people end up remembering about the oral arguments. Rather, it’ll be one of the more unusual and spirited rallies in recent memory that happened outside the court as arguments were being heard, courtesy of abortion rights activists.

The rally will be best remembered as the venue where Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer seemed to threaten Trump-appointed justices by saying “you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price! You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” (Schumer later had a spokesman say he was actually saying Republicans would reap that whirlwind and pay that price, which he didn’t, but whatever.)

A lot of this had to do with the general tenor of the rally, or at least of its speeches: Intense, minatory and often bizarre.

Nothing was quite going to to top the Senate minority leader threatening sitting justices, but Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the Michigan Democrat best known for her “impeach the motherf—er” speech the night she was sworn in, certainly did her darnedest.

In this clip from the rally, Tlaib spoke — well, screamed — to the crowd about the interconnectedness of sex with social justice movements, how maybe you shouldn’t want to have sex with her and … well, perhaps I should just let Tlaib explain it to you:

“This past year I realized, my, my, my, are they obsessed with our bodies,” Tlaib bellowed.

“How we talk, how we look, what we stand for. I mean, this type of policing of our bodies is so interconnected to all the social justice movements all around the country.

“I represent the third poorest congressional district in the country. This issue is an economic justice issue, this issue is a racial justice issue!”

She then described how she would tell people (assumedly pro-lifers) in the Michigan legislature: “Yo, yo, you know what, you’re so freakin’ obsessed with what I decide to do with my body, maybe you shouldn’t even want to have sex with me, or with you, or with any women!”

“The power that we have over our bodies to push back to use that power and saying, enough is enough, we won’t stand by for you to commercialize, for you to profit, for you to do all the things you do to what? To make us less-than in this country, because that’s what it does.”

I’d leave it to you to parse that word salad, but I’m being paid to. Whatever the case, it brings up some interesting possibilities.

Does she think pro-lifers want to have sex with her? Is this the issue? Or that they want to have sex with themselves “or with any women?”

I’m assuming that last part probably has the vague ring of truth about it, although one would hope it was either done a) within the bounds of marriage or b) with all available protection or, assuming the failure of that, the knowledge that they would be taking care of a child.

On the second part, aside from some crude high-school jokes about having sex with yourself, it’s technically impossible to have any kind of prurient act between consenting (or non-consenting, for that matter) adults when the word adult isn’t plural. I’m guessing, much like the part of Schumer’s speech in which he fervently warned the court’s newest justices some vague threat was lying in wait for them, this probably wasn’t in the script.

On the first part, however: Are you assuming pro-life legislators want to have sex with you, Rep. Tlaib? I can’t believe this is anything other than badly phrased, the commingling of the idea that pro-lifers are secretly obsessed with women sexually with the idea this is about Tlaib’s personal agency, which means it has to be kept on a personal level.

Whatever the case, this is a strange thing to include.

This is always the straw-man argument of the left: that pro-life types are obsessed with women’s bodies or what they want to do with those bodies.

We aren’t. We’re rather concerned when you’re carrying a body inside that body, which is typically there due to a decision made entirely by your own volition, and you want to terminate it.

We’re not here to commercialize your body or the one potentially inside it. (Planned Parenthood actually does a pretty good job of this.) We’re not here to make you “less-than” in this country — unless, of course, you only feel equal if you can terminate a pregnancy.

We’re not here to spread economic injustice, merely to end (or attenuate) a biological injustice.

But hey, if these are the arguments you want to use, go ahead and see how they work.

Pro-lifers will use the arguments I just laid out. See which version America finds more convincing.

Leave it to the liberal media to take the good news of the February jobs report and try to throw cold water on it as quickly as possible by pounding on coronavirus fears. MSNBC’s Maddow Blog, NBC News, The New York Times and The Washington Post all wrote liberal spin stories on the latest jobs report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The job numbers showed that the economy added a whopping 273,000 nonfarm payroll jobs, smashing expectations.
