Call me crazy. But I had this strange idea that Americans ran America. I was under the apparently mistaken impression that every four years Americans elected a president. And that when times of crisis hit, as they occasionally do, the American people turn on their televisions, radios or, in today’s world, their computers – and listen to their freely elected leader update them on the crisis.

Pastor Robert Jeffress of Dallas First Baptist Church said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday that particularly during the coronavirus pandemic left-wing groups are trying to drive a wedge between President Trump and his evangelical base and using the crisis to push their radical pro-abortion agenda.
Jeffress, who heads one of the largest evangelical churches in the country, slammed left-wing groups for pushing their political agendas during the coronavirus pandemic — specifically, abortion.
“The left has not given up their agenda. Right here in Texas, Planned Parenthood has sued our state and Gov. Abbott because he declared that abortion is not an essential service during the coronavirus pandemic,” Jeffress said. “In other words, they are suing for the right to have abortions take priority over other surgical procedures and tie up our healthcare workers and our medical facilities during this crisis. That is absurd.”
“You know, Cory Booker described abortion as a sacrosanct belief, and I mean that’s really true,” he continued. “It is almost a religion to Democrats and to the left, their so-called right to murder babies, and we are seeing this carried out right now. They believe in unrestricted abortion,” he said.
The left’s radical position on abortion will only encourage evangelicals to support Trump in even greater numbers in the general election, Jeffress predicted.
“And that’s because Democrats have moved so far to the left on this issue in just three years,” he said, noting the Democrat candidates who had signaled their support for unrestricted abortion. “And to most Americans, that’s not only wrong. It is barbaric.”
Nonetheless, Democrats are attempting to drive a wedge between Trump and his evangelical base, even during the coronavirus pandemic. Jeffress slammed the recent New York Times article that essentially blamed the pandemic on evangelical Christians.
“God doesn’t want us to be paralyzed with panic during this pandemic. He wants us to exercise faith, but He also wants us to exercise common sense,” he explained.
“But what’s really going on here, Matt, is the New York Times and other left-wing groups know that there’s an election coming up in a few months. They know President Trump’s on the glide path to reelection, and they’re trying to do anything they can to separate the president from his evangelical base, thinking maybe he will distance himself from the so-called kooky evangelicals, and they will distance themself from him. Neither is going to happen,” he said.
“President Trump won the evangelical vote in 2016 by 81 percent — largest margin in history. Every time I see the president, I tell him I believe he’s on the path to win an even greater margin than the 81 percent,” he said, praising Trump’s accomplishments, many of which resonate with Americans of faith.
“Without a doubt, it is the irony of all time that it was a secular real estate tycoon from New York City named Donald Trump who has become the most pro-life, pro-religious liberty, pro-Israel president in the history of America,” he said.
That, along with the left’s pursual of its radical left-wing agendas like abortion, especially during the pandemic, will only further rally Trump’s evangelical base, Jeffress suggested, adding that Trump’s likely opponent, Joe Biden (D), must be grilled on the issue.
“I hope that President Trump will wrap unrestricted abortion around Joe Biden’s neck. Make him choke on it because he needs to answer to the American people whether or not he believes that abortion is an essential surgery that needs to take priority in this coronavirus crisis,” he added.

Dr. Ron Paul On COVID-19 Panic: The Real Danger "Is The Government’s Overreaction"
Authored by Mac Slavo via SHTFplan.com,
In a recent interview, Dr. Ron Paul opined on his son Rand, who has tested positive for the coronavirus. Dr. Paul said that the dangers of the coronavirus have been “blown way out of proportion” and some people benefit from crises, like politicians who want more power.
Dr. Paul begins his interview with Lior Gantz of the Wealth Research Group saying Rand Paul had no symptoms of the virus and is feeling fine, like the majority of people who have gotten. Many are already immune and have been exposed without showing any signs. “I think millions of people have probably had the infection and still do,” says Dr. Paul.
“But it’s used by an excuse by those who have a special interest…and I think that is sad.”
The problem is that this crisis was blown up so some people (the ruling class) could expand and broaden their power over the public, and Dr. Paul says hopefully, the masses will “wake up soon” to what the government is doing to them and their future.
“Somebody is making political use out of this and it’s [the political usage of the coronavirus] is out of control,” Dr. Paul (an OBYN) added.
Just look at who has been hurt the most so far: the poorest Americans in service industries that the ruling class demanded to shut down. Dr. Paul says the only real danger is the government’s expansion of power and the already sick or elderly who will get the coronavirus. But that danger to our susceptible population already exists and has for years in the form of colds and several strains of the flu, so the panic and shut down is unwarranted. Unless you want more power and totalitarian control.
Both Dr. Paul and Mr. Gantz have been long-time liberty and free-market champions, and this interview is a must-watch if you consider yourself anything other than a slave to the government. Both men are calling out the power-hungry ruling class, something the majority of Americans have not done.
Watch the entire eye-opening interview here:
“The people who love control, even local officials [such as governors who canceled school or shut down economies in their states] love the power that they’re getting from this,” says Dr. Paul. These power-hungry politicians love putting the public under threats of arrest if they dare balk at the power grab of these politicians.
Even in what used to be liberty-minded states like Wyoming, the governor has threatened martial law saying he has the power to use law enforcement to issue a “shelter in place order” (martial law). And that’s in a state with 53 confirmed cases, 7 confirmed recoveries, and NO DEATHS from COVID-19.
“I hope the American people wake up and realize it’s [the coronavirus] not quite as they [authoritarian tyrants] describe it,” adds Dr. Paul. “This economic crisis is government-made.” The real danger is the federal and local governments’ overreaction to this outbreak. Unfortunately, this is happening world-wide, and the poorest people, will once again, be hurt the most financially by their government’s “solutions,” but we’re all going to lose most of what’s left our basic human rights.
Too many people are lining up in support of government tyranny.

I have to admit that I wasn’t paying much attention to much social media on Wednesday until I saw Kathy Griffin trending.
“Oh no,” I thought to myself, knowing full well what was to come when my index finger touched her name in the trending feed on Twitter, “we’ll never hear the end of this one.”
And yes, it appeared for a little while, we wouldn’t. It was a retweet of President Donald Trump’s statement that “over an eight day span, the United States now does more testing than what South Korea (which has been a very successful tester) does over an eight week span.”
“He’s lying,” Griffin said.
“I was sent to the #COVID19 isolation ward room in a major hospital ER from a separate urgent care facility after showing UNBEARABLY PAINFUL symptoms. The hospital couldn’t test me for #coronavirus because of CDC (Pence task force) restrictions.

I didn’t question, for instance, why an individual in extremis from “UNBEARABLY PAINFUL symptoms” of a coronavirus infection would be be tweeting very cogently about it from an “isolation ward room in a major hospital ER.”
All of that went out the window, and I even chastised myself silently for that whole “we’ll never hear the end of this one” thought. That had been kind of cruel, I thought, even if this did nicely dovetail with the values of someone who recently tweeted this:
THREAD: a real #coronavirus #COVID19 press conference. https://t.co/9rMAiF73vD
— Kathy Griffin (@kathygriffin) March 25, 2020
As it turned out, I should have been more skeptical, since Griffin’s track record also dovetails rather nicely with this:

As you’ll notice, that’s “coronavirus concerns,” not “coronavirus.” The abdominal infection she has wasn’t related to anything COVID-19.
In fact — and this sounds so horrible on multiple levels that I couldn’t make it up — she got the abdominal infection after traveling to Mexico, according to Griffin’s husband, Randy Bick.
According to him, she had self-isolated before seeking medical advice.
While a minority of coronavirus patients may experience the symptoms that Griffin did — “intense pain, vomiting, diarrhea, every 20 minutes,” as Bick told the Los Angeles Times — these aren’t the classical symptoms of the virus.
“We were both nervous because we were still in the incubation period after returning from [a trip to] Mexico, but also we had not left the house in days,” Griffin told the Times.
“We’d been hearing about a 14-day incubation period [for the coronavirus]. So for me to get what felt like food poisoning after six days, I thought, OK, is this a coincidence or what?”
Coincidence. Not what.
According to Griffin, despite the fact that her lungs were clear and a CT scan showed an infection in her intestines, an urgent care doctor thought she ought to get tested. This went against the Centers for Disease Control’s recommendations, which we’ll get to in a second.
When she went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (all right, so it was a “major hospital ER”), however, she was told she couldn’t get one.
“The realization when they told me the guidelines was, ‘Wow … I now know not to come back unless my lungs are full with what feels like pieces of shattered mirror, unless I can’t breathe and unless my fever is 103,’” Griffin said.
“They’re not making the rules at all. That’s a frightening feeling.
“I just think it’s so obvious that those tests have to be accessible to everybody,” she added. “A lot of people, when they hear the president saying everyone who needs a test should get one, they shouldn’t have to then go to a hospital where, frankly, they may be exposing themselves or exposing others.”
Look, we’re happy that Griffin doesn’t have COVID-19. However, here are the recommendations from the CDC as to who has priority to get tested: “Hospitalized patients; Symptomatic healthcare workers; Patients in long-term care facilities with symptoms; Patients 65 years of age and older with symptoms; Patients with underlying conditions with symptoms; First responders with symptoms; Critical infrastructure workers with symptoms.”
Not celebrities. Not even self-admitted D-list celebrities.
Not people with symptoms that don’t entirely match up with coronavirus. Not people whose symptoms match up with someone who recently traveled in a country where food poisoning isn’t an unknown issue.
None of these things make her a priority.
Griffin is 59. Her symptoms, her chest X-ray and the abdominal CT scan all lined up with someone who didn’t have COVID-19.
She’s assumedly in good health. She’s not a first responder and tweeting doesn’t count as working in critical infrastructure.
Furthermore, none of this has mutual exclusivity with Trump’s tweet. The fact that we’ve done more tests doesn’t necessarily mean that we have all the tests we need. To test someone without classical COVID-19 symptoms in one of the hotbeds of the disease when she’s not necessarily a first responder isn’t necessarily a responsible use of resources.
Neither is asking for a test when you don’t meet the criteria and blaming Mike Pence when you don’t get it. It’s not his fault. Neither does it mean Donald Trump is lying.
Now, instead of “Kathy Griffin” trending, “Kathy Griffin lied” is.
Here is the problem with Griffin’s original tweet: She knew it was probable she didn’t have the disease but blamed the fact that she didn’t have a test for what’s billed as the most mordant pandemic in a century on a president and vice president she’s always disagreed with, despite having recently returned just days earlier from a land infamous for provoking food poisoning.
We all should have known this sounded a bit too perfect for Kathy Griffin to be true.
We hope that she’s on the mend and look forward to the tweetstorm that’s no doubt to come in which she blames the president’s trade war with Mexico for her gastrointestinal unpleasantness.

Former Vice President Joe Biden claims he was not part of the Obama administration’s response to the H1N1 flu outbreak in 2009 despite having previously taken credit for it on his presidential campaign page.
In a CNN town hall Friday night, the Democratic presidential candidate was asked whether the Obama administration should have done more to prepare for another outbreak.
“I wasn’t part of it,” Biden claimed.
“Our administration spent a lot of time working with the incoming Trump administration laying out exactly what could happen with a future pandemic and that they were likely, not unlikely, to occur,” the former vice president added.

Biden’s involvement in the Obama administration’s response to the H1N1 outbreak has been scrutinized recently.
On his campaign website, the former vice president took credit for the “effective response” to the outbreak in 2009.
“He helped lead the Obama-Biden Administration’s effective response to the 2009 H1N1 pandemic and the 2014 Ebola epidemic,” the website reads.

In response to Biden’s criticism of Trump’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Trump has in return called out Biden’s leadership — or lack thereof — during the 2009 global pandemic.
“Sleepy Joe Biden was in charge of the H1N1 Swine Flu epidemic which killed thousands of people,” Trump tweeted. “The response was one of the worst on record.”
Sleepy Joe Biden was in charge of the H1N1 Swine Flu epidemic which killed thousands of people. The response was one of the worst on record. Our response is one of the best, with fast action of border closings & a 78% Approval Rating, the highest on record. His was lowest!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 13, 2020
“Our response is one of the best,” Trump added, “with fast action of border closings & a 78% Approval Rating, the highest on record. His was lowest!”
Even Biden seemed forced to admit closing our borders was a good move.
“Pandemics don’t get stopped by walls being built, they cross borders quickly and easily,” Biden told CNN.
Unlike Vice President Mike Pence, who is heading up the Trump administration’s response to the pandemic, Biden himself was not in charge of the Obama administration’s H1N1 response team, according to archives reviewed by PolitiFact, so it is unclear what the Biden website’s claim means when it says that Biden “helped lead the Obama-Biden Administration’s effective response to the 2009 H1N1 pandemic.”
A 2010 report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated “between 43 million and 88 million cases of 2009 H1N1 occurred between April 2009 and March 13, 2010.”
During that time, the number of H1N1 deaths was estimated between 8,720 and 18,050, with a midpoint of 12,270.
Comparatively, as of Saturday morning, there are 105,470 cases of coronavirus in the United States with 1,710 fatalities, according to data from Johns Hopkins.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts informed members of the National Symphony Orchestra that they would no longer be paid just hours after President Trump signed a $25 million taxpayer bailout for the cultural center, according to an email obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
Nearly 100 musicians will no longer receive paychecks after April 3, according to an email from the orchestra’s Covid-19 Advisory Committee.
"The Covid-19 Advisory Committee was broadsided today during our conversation with [Kennedy Center President] Deborah Rutter," the email says. "Ms. Rutter abruptly informed us today that the last paycheck for all musicians and librarians will be April 3 and that we will not be paid again until the Center reopens."
The email went out to members on Friday evening, shortly after President Trump signed the $2 trillion CARES Act, a stimulus package intended to provide relief to people left unemployed by the coronavirus pandemic. Congress included $25 million in taxpayer funding for the Kennedy Center, a provision that raised eyebrows from both Democrats and Republicans, but ultimately won support from President Trump. The bailout was designed to "cover operating expenses required to ensure the continuity of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and its affiliates, including for employee compensation and benefits, grants, contracts, payments for rent or utilities, fees for artists or performers," according to the law’s text. The arts organization decided that the relief did not extend to members of the National Symphony Orchestra, its house orchestra.
"Everyone should proceed as if their last paycheck will be April 3," the email says. "We understand this will come [as a] shock to all of you, as it did to us."
The Kennedy Center did not return request for comment.
A veteran member of the orchestra, who requested anonymity for fear of reprisal, told the Washington Free Beacon that the decision "blindsided" musicians. The member welcomed the bailout package as necessary funding for the arts, but was stunned that it would not be used to cover payment for the artists.
"It’s very disappointing [that] they’re going to get that money and then drop us afterward," the musician said. "The Kennedy Center blindsided us."
The Kennedy Center, which recently completed a $250 million renovation, received $41 million from taxpayers in 2019, but faced massive deficits after shutting its doors on March 12 due to the coronavirus outbreak. President Rutter went on a media blitz to highlight the cultural hub’s struggles, telling the Washington Post that she would forego her $1.2 million salary during the closure. Members of the orchestra chafed at the notion that they should do the same—particularly because they also face the prospect of losing their health benefits after May 31.
Orchestra members are challenging the Kennedy Center over its handling of the outbreak. The orchestra is only a few months into a four-year collective bargaining agreement it signed with the center in 2019. Members plan on filing a grievance because the contract stipulates at least six-weeks advanced notice before paychecks can stop. While they are confident in their case, committee members said the decision would not likely come for at least two weeks.
"There is no provision of our collective bargaining agreement that allows the Kennedy Center to decide to stop paying us with only one week of notice," the email says. "While we fully expect that an arbitrator would agree that management violated the CBA and that we are entitled to continued salary and benefits, this process takes time."
The Kennedy Center is scheduled to reopen on May 10, though it can continue spending stimulus funds through September 2021.

While President Trump closed the US border against entry from China at the end of January, his overall instinct was right. The CCP virus was nasty, but no worse than a supercharged flu.
Health professionals overwhelmed Trump and his inner circle with doomsday scenarios, bullied by panic obsessed virologists and epidemiologists — begging for attention and copying the alarmist playbook from the climate/global warming extremists, allied with the MSM Trump-haters.
And now the government has completely suffocated economic demand, creating a depression, an unnecessary calamity that is destroying lives, livelihoods, families, and fortunes for a generation. It is becoming apparent that the end-of-the-world predictions, computer models warning of an apocalyptic black plague worldwide, are all wrong.
Those paying attention were warned that the worse-case scenarios were hysterical, by the likes of Stanford epidemiologist John P.A. Ioannidis.
In dramatic fashion UK Imperial College scientist Neil Ferguson published a doomsday scenario on March 16. Now just ten days later, he has reversed his outlook, essentially settling on a prediction no worse than a bad flu season.
Most telling, the two US public health icons, Drs Fauci and Birx, are both saying the extreme models that provoked extreme measures, bear little resemblance to the actual data on the ground. From the New England Journal of Medicine March 26 co-authored by Fauci :
This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.2
Re Dr. Birx from The Hill:
Birx, speaking at a White House press briefing, singled out a recent study on the United Kingdom that originally predicted 500,000 people would die from the virus and has since been revised down to predict 20,000 deaths in the U.K. She said the data the government has collected does not show that 20 percent of the U.S. population would be infected with COVID-19, cautioning against predictions that say so.
“When people start talking about 20 percent of a population getting infected, it is very scary but we don’t have data that matches that based on the experience,” Birx said.
“There’s no … reality on the ground where we can see that 60 to 70 percent of Americans are going to get infected in the next eight to 12 weeks,” Birx later continued.
Perhaps Trump had no other option than go with the flow when this crisis unfolded. But he is not usually a slave to consensus. He was elected because he is a contrarian. His contrarian antennae have already sent signals that he must reset the economy, pronto.
Trump wants America to reopen by Easter. Despite his ambition ridiculed and criticized, he’s right to pivot from hysteria to rebound.
