Only 632 People Watch Sleepy Joe Biden’s Coronavirus Town Hall on YouTube

2020 Democrat front runner Joe Biden held a Coronavirus town hall with nurses, firefighters and emergency medical technicians.

Biden advertised his Coronavirus livestream to his 4.62 million Twitter followers.

But only 632 people tuned in to watch Sleepy Joe on YouTube.

Let’s take a look at President Trump’s ratings for a little comparison.

The Fox News special with President Trump and members of his Coronavirus task force on Tuesday was the highest rated town hall in the history of cable news.

The virtual town hall had 4,409,000 viewers between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. according to ratings from Nielsen. It also has over a million views on YouTube.

But Sleepy Joe could only attract 632 viewers on YouTube.

Gun-Rights Groups Sue North Carolina, Los Angeles Sheriffs Over Coronavirus Shut Downs

A collection of Second Amendment activists filed a pair of federal lawsuits on Friday targeting sheriffs in California and North Carolina over mandatory coronavirus-related shutdowns of gun stores and permit-purchase systems, respectively.

The suits come in the wake of California governor Gavin Newsom’s decision to allow local authorities to close gun stores under his emergency lockdown order. Los Angeles County sheriff Alex Villanueva, acting on Newsom’s guidance, mandated gun-store closures. A separate suit was filed in North Carolina after Wake County sheriff Gerald Baker (D.) refused to process new pistol-purchase and gun-carry permits starting on Tuesday.

The outcome of the cases will shape how local officials can restrict Americans’ access to constitutionally protected gun rights during the emergency response to the novel coronavirus. Gun stores and manufacturers are facing potential shutdowns in a dozen states even as Americans flood stores during the crisis. Gun store and permitting process shutdowns have thwarted buyers in parts of the country, leading gun-rights groups to take legal action.

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), National Rifle Association, California Gun Rights Foundation (CGF), and Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) filed suit against Villanueva and Newsom in an effort to keep gun stores in one the country’s most populous counties open to the public. SAF founder Alan Gottlieb called the shutdowns in Los Angeles County an "attack on fundamental rights." The NRA said California officials were denying people guns at a time they need them most.

"Municipalities and states that target lawful gun stores for closure aren’t promoting safety—by weaponizing their politics to disarm you and your loved ones, these shameless partisans are wantonly promoting a gun-control agenda that suffocates your Second Amendment rights when you need them most," Jason Ouimet, executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told the Washington Free Beacon it "has not been served with this lawsuit and has no comment at this time."

Villanueva said in a statement on Thursday that gun stores will be able to continue selling firearms to security companies, adding that civilians who had already completed a purchase would be allowed to pick up their firearms. The stores, however, would be closed to the general public. Local officials have argued that gun stores are not "essential" and are thus subject to a statewide lockdown.

"There’s nothing essential about being able to purchase a new handgun," Los Angeles city attorney Mike Feuer told the Associated Press. Feuer did not respond to a request for comment.

Adam Kraut, FPC director of legal strategy, said the decision to shutter gun stores makes it effectively impossible to legally purchase guns or ammunition in the county.

"Especially due to the restrictive nature of California’s byzantine gun laws that require the use of licensed dealers to buy and transfer both firearms and ammunition, the defendants’ orders and actions challenged individually and collectively violate the Constitution and individuals’ fundamental rights to keep and bear arms and due process of law," he said. "These irrational and outrageous fiat restrictions cannot withstand constitutional scrutiny and must be enjoined from enforcement."

Kraut said the case against Wake County, N.C., sheriff Baker was equally urgent, arguing that the sheriff’s refusal to process new permits to purchase or carry a pistol also makes it impossible for residents to exercise their gun rights.

"Sheriff Baker’s unconstitutional actions have and will deprive law-abiding, peaceable individuals the opportunity to obtain handguns, the ‘quintessential self-defense weapon’ according to the U.S. Supreme Court, in a time where the arms are most needed," he said.

A spokesman for Wake County’s Sheriff’s Office declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Baker said in a statement that his decision "does not limit anyone’s right to purchase a handgun," but is necessary because of the overwhelming number of people who have applied to purchase pistols as coronavirus has spread.

"Over the past several weeks, our staff has been inundated with high volumes of permit applications that have made it impossible to process by law," he said. "This decision is not a violation of anyone’s Second Amendment Rights. Most importantly, this action will limit persons encountering one another during this time of State of Emergency, consistent with Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Orders and that of Wake County Commissioner Greg Ford."

The gun-rights groups accused Baker of misinterpreting the law, comparing his actions to the Washington, D.C., handgun ban that was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in the landmark 2008 Heller ruling.

"Sheriff Baker is implementing by fiat what the Supreme Court struck down in Heller—a ban on a citizen’s right to purchase a handgun for the defense of hearth and home," Ed Green, Grass Roots North Carolina director of legal affairs, said in a statement. "This action cannot be allowed to stand."

Hearings for each case have not yet been set.

Michigan Man with Coronavirus Has Near-Death Experience – Is Saved by Hydroxychloroquine Treatment… Then UNLOADS on Liberal Gov. for Denying Life-Saving Drug to the Sick

On Thursday Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer was the latest Democrat to ban doctors from prescribing the lifesaving drugs hydroxychloroquine and Z-Paks to save senior citizens in the state from coronavirus.

Hydroxychloroquine is safe and in at least three international tests was found 100% effective in treating the coronavirus.

Whitmer follows Nevada’s Democrat Governor Sisolak in banning the life-saving drugs from coronavirus victims.

On Friday coronavirus survivor Jim Santilli blasted Michigan Governor Whitmer after he was saved from the virus by a hydroxychloroquine treatment.

Via 100% Fed Up:

The governor’s radical announcement hit a nerve with a Michigan man who credits the combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin with saving his life after he was convinced he was on death’s doorstep after a serious bout with the Chinese coronavirus.

Michigan resident, Jim Santilli wrote about his miraculous recovery and shares his feelings about Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s decision to punish doctors who prescribe and pharmacists who give prescriptions for hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine to patients. Santilli also explains how Whitmer dropped the ball on testing Michigan citizens with low-cost, rapid response tests that are produced and made available by a Michigan company. Mr. Santilli also points out how Whitmer failed to apply for FEMA funding, yet another critical failure on the part of a governor. Santilli claims the Democrat governor of Michigan should be less concerned scoring political points for her party by “wrongfully pointing the finger at President Trump,” while she’s failing to properly do her job for Michigan residents.

Here is Jim Santilli’s incredible story that he sent to me via Facebook:

Here is Jim Santilli’s Facebook post.

Thank you to everyone for your support and prayers while I was extremely ill and hospitalized due to COVID-19! It truly means the world to me. I am continuing to recover and be treated at home. I’m praying all of you, and your families, remain healthy and safe during this challenging time.

As a COVID-19 survivor who is currently recovering, I believe it is important to share my story publicly so others have hope. The sad reality is Michigan’s Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, is failing the people of the state of Michigan. Rather than leading and making good choices that will help our wonderful people during this horrible COVID-19 situation, she continuously chooses to engage in partisan politics. That must end now.

On March 18th, I had a sudden onset of severe respiratory and cardiac issues. I immediately went to the hospital and they did a COVID-19 test. Despite my test being marked as a priority, I did not receive the test results until the evening of March 22nd. While waiting for the test results in the hospital, my breathing continued to worsen as treatment was received. Without having the COVID-19 test results, the wonderful and hard-working doctors basically have their hands tied as certain medications (i.e. steroids, etc.) can potentially make COVID-19 worse. On the morning of March 21st, I was not doing well and it was a major struggle to breathe. Feeling like I was slowly drowning, I honestly believed I would not live to see midnight. The x-ray that morning also showed my condition was worsening, including some collapsing in the lungs. Luckily, the infectious disease physicians decided to try a non-approved, experimental combination (Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin). This is the same treatment President Donald Trump recently mentioned at a press conference and continues to be attacked for. After my first dose, I had a major improvement. My gasping for air stopped, and I was in tears of happiness due to having hope restored. I finally felt I would beat COVID-19 and it was no longer beating me. On March 22nd, I remained about the same. However, March 23rd brought a significant improvement. I continued to recover and was miraculously able to go home on March 24th to continue the treatment.

There are a few important things I believe the public needs to know. One is the treatment that President Trump recommended worked for me and saved my life. It also appears to be helping others. As a result, I believe we can all have hope! However, I sadly just learned that Governor Whitmer has once again made a terrible decision. According to the Detroit News, her Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs sent a letter threatening all doctors and pharmacists in Michigan who prescribe or dispense Hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. The letter threatens administrative action against the licenses of doctors who prescribe it. It also instructs pharmacists to ignore physician orders for this medication. This is unacceptable and I’m confident Governor Whitmer, and her administration, will be responsible for many deaths and much suffering. I highly recommend she stop the politics, and not discourage doctors from using treatment they believe may work. It could be a matter of life or death for numerous patients.

As for the COVID-19 testing, we can do better. On March 24th, after hearing my story, a friend recommended I talk to a local company whom she heard had COVID-19 tests. I spoke with ProMed Rapid Testing of Southfield, Michigan. They were kind enough to drop off a sample to my home yesterday. I tried one and had the results in minutes. It showed I had IgG antibodies in my system, which apparently means I had the virus and successfully beat it. I was told these exact tests are being used in 67 countries around the world and they cost under $50. What really upset me the most is they apparently contacted multiple state and regional government and health system agencies over the past month about these available test kits.

I believe Governor Whitmer should’ve taken advantage of these tests rather than sitting and blaming the federal government. In my situation, doctors could’ve had immediate test results so they would’ve known what they were dealing with. These immediate test results are essential to early detection and effective treatment.

I also learned on March 25th, through multiple news sources, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) did not receive a request from the State of Michigan for federal emergency funds. While Governor Whitmer was going on national television to engage in partisan politics, she should’ve been working with her team and had the application submitted long ago. Michigan topped 2,200 cases and at least 43 deaths on March 25th. On that same date, the Governor’s spokeswoman told the Detroit Free Press that state officials were “reviewing and looking into” a request to FEMA. So, while Michigan ranks fifth in the nation for total coronavirus cases, and does need federal assistance, Governor Whitmer failed to complete the process and instead opted to wrongfully point the finger at President Trump.

Overall, the COVID-19 situation should not be about partisan politics. Our elected officials, who work for us, must lead effectively and do what’s in the best interest of all people. Governor Whitmer has not done this. Instead, she continuously makes very poor decisions and puts politics before people. As a COVID-19 survivor, I believe Governor Whitmer needs to start acting in the best interest of the people here in the great state of Michigan. Instead of pointing the finger at others, she needs to look in the mirror. It is not too late for her to set partisan politics aside and start making good choices for us all.

Sex Assault Scandal Leaves Dems Turning on Biden En Masse: Here Are Some of the Most Brutal Comments

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is receiving significant incoming fire after a former staffer alleged he sexually assaulted her.

Last April, Tara Reade, who worked as a staffer in Biden’s Senate office from December 1992 to August 1993, told the northern California newspaper The Union that Biden inappropriately touched her on multiple occasions.

This week, Reade offered a more detailed account to liberal podcaster Katie Halper, alleging that in one instance Biden reached up her skirt and penetrated her vagina.

Reade — who is supporting the presidential bid of Biden’s only remaining opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont — said the incident happened in 1993 when she was in her mid-20s and Biden was 50.

The former Capitol Hill staffer recounted to Halper that the senator began kissing her and asked, “‘Do you want to go somewhere else?’”

When she resisted his advance, Biden said, “Come on, man, I heard you liked me,” according to Reade.

She said that as it became clear she was not receptive to his advance, Biden became irritated and said to her, “You’re nothing to me. Nothing.”

Do you think Reade’s allegations sound credible?

Reade said she then became upset and he grabbed her by the shoulders, telling her, “You’re OK, you’re fine. You’re OK,” and then walked away.

Reade told The Union she raised Biden’s misconduct with the U.S. Senate personnel office, and the newspaper confirmed with a confidant of Reade’s at that time she had talked about inappropriate touching by the senator.

Biden’s campaign issued a statement Friday calling the accusations “false,” Fox News reported.

Many, however, have doubts about that. The hashtag “TimesUpBiden” was trending on Twitter on Friday, as was “IBelieveTara.”

Not surprisingly, at least some of those speaking out against the former vice president are Sanders supporters.

RELATED: Biden Openly Believes Obamacare’s More Important Than Every Single Constitutional Right

One tweeted, “‘Biden is nothing’ but a prelude to a Trump second term. #NeverBiden #TimesUpBiden.”

Another wrote, “Biden has been groping and sniffing people for a long time, is it really hard for some people to believe he’s done more than just that? #TimesUpBiden #BlueMAGA #DropOutBiden.”

Still another Twitter user bluntly stated, “I’m not voting for a rapist. #TimesUpBiden.”

One took a shot at actress Alyssa Milano, who was very outspoken about believing Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in 2018 but does not appear to be rallying to Reade’s side.

In Ford’s case, she could not offer a time or place where the alleged assault happened.

In early April of last year, as stories and videos of Biden’s inappropriate touching of women over the years began to circulate, he conceded his conduct has made people uncomfortable.

Biden said he now realized the “boundaries of protecting personal space have been reset, and I get it.”

Well, it has never appropriate to reach up the skirt of a staff member.

What became clear during the Kavanaugh hearing is that Ford’s story had holes in it.

Maybe Reade’s story will not hold up under further scrutiny, either.

But Biden must not get a free pass simply because there is a “D” next to his name.

Hillary Clinton Cracks Coronavirus Joke Aimed at Trump as Pandemic Grows

As stateside coronavirus cases continued to spike Friday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton landed in hot water on social media over a controversial joke made at President Donald Trump’s expense.

According to Johns Hopkins data, the United States overtook Italy just one day prior as the global leader in confirmed cases, reporting roughly 81,321 at the time amid increased testing efforts — a development which reinvigorated citizen and media concern surrounding the pandemic.

For Clinton, however, the news had apparently provided an opening for a well-placed jab at one of her 2016 presidential election rival’s most popular nationalist campaign slogans.

“He did promise ‘America First,’” Clinton wrote on Twitter, linking to a breaking New York Times report on the pandemic statistics.

TRENDING: Hospital Worker with Coronavirus Found Dead with Her Small Child by Her Side, Hospital Issues Statement

It was not the first time Clinton seemed to have a laugh at Trump’s expense regarding the ongoing viral outbreak.

Clinton’s Twitter account saw a dramatic increase in activity as the virus began to spread on a global scale throughout late February and early March, coming to a head this last week as presidential addresses regarding the pandemic became daily occurrences.

“Please do not take medical advice from a man who looked directly at a solar eclipse,” Clinton told Twitter followers Tuesday.

None of the former secretary of state’s previous commentary had received the response prompted by her Friday remark, however, which left a variety of prominent conservative personalities and users far from amused.

“This is some low bulls— … even for you,” comedian and political commentator Tim Young commented on the original tweet.

Human Events editor Ian Miles Cheong responded similarly, referring to the joke as “beyond the pale.”

RELATED: Hillary Clinton Responds to Coronavirus by Urging People To Ignore Trump’s Guidance

Others were far more cutting in their replies, berating Clinton for a career laden with political scandal and suggesting ill-timed jokes such as the one made Friday had only added to the relatability issues that plagued her failed 2008 and 2016 presidential campaigns.

“This is why you aren’t president and he is,” right-wing political strategist Caleb Hull wrote on Twitter.

“Was it America first in Benghazi?” podcast host Joey Saladino wrote. “So glad you are NOT President!”

“I literally called out this misinformation yesterday,” he added, pointing to previous arguments against using total virus cases as the sole or primary metric in measuring national response to the pandemic.

Medical experts had previously warned about the potential for a dramatic spike in confirmed coronavirus cases across the United States, as testing kits became more widely available due to expedited legislative efforts made on a bipartisan basis by Congress in recent weeks, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The cases, many such experts argued, were baked into the cake by now, confirming previously known cases rather than uncovering new ones.

As the third most populous nation in the world, America’s now-97,226 cases are also far more spread out than those in smaller nations like Italy, Spain and Germany.

Reporting the second-most cases globally at roughly 86,000 confirmed, Italy maintains a population roughly five times smaller than that of the U.S. and is more than six times as densely populated, according to the United Nations-powered IndexMundi.

Virus-related deaths within the U.S. pale in comparison to those in Italy and Spain, which reported 9,134 and 4,940, respectively on Friday afternoon.

COVID Fatality Projection Shows 96% Drop from Doomsday 550K Death Prediction in UK

While the coronavirus continues to spread, having sickened almost 600,000 people worldwide and killed more than 26,000 as of Friday, recent research suggests there could be good news on the horizon.

When word of the novel coronavirus first broke, epidemiologists scrambled to figure out just how deadly the virus would be and what measures would mitigate the risks.

Although there was data from China, where the virus first emerged, statistics from that nation were unreliable.

As the novel coronavirus spread, authorities around the world implemented policies meant to stop it, based in large part on epidemiological models.

One such model, originally published on March 16 by Imperial College COVID-19 Response Team in London, projected that as many as 550,000 people could die in the U.K. if various measures — such as isolating the infected, social distancing and closing schools and universities — were not taken.

TRENDING: Hospital Worker with Coronavirus Found Dead with Her Small Child by Her Side, Hospital Issues Statement

But according to comments this week from Neil Ferguson of the Imperial College London, who co-authored the original study, that worst-case scenario is not likely.

In fact, his current projection of the number of total deaths is 96 percent lower than the doomsday, worst-case scenario projection of 550,000 fatalities.

He says that’s due to the measures the U.K. has taken to slow the spread of the disease.

“We assessed in that report … that fatalities would probably be unlikely to exceed about 20,000 with effectively a lockdown, a social-distancing strategy,” Ferguson told a U.K. parliamentary committee on Wednesday, Reason reported.

Do you think the media is purposefully withholding the encouraging news?

0% (0 Votes)

0% (0 Votes)

“But it could be substantially lower than that.”

Ferguson also said he is “reasonably confident” that the health system will be able to deal with the epidemic, New Scientist reported.

Ferguson noted on Twitter that “Our lethality estimates remain unchanged.”

“My evidence to Parliament referred to the deaths we assess might occur in the UK in the presence of the very intensive social distancing and other public health interventions now in place,” he tweeted.

RELATED: Retired Army Colonel Exposes Scarborough’s Constitutional Ignorance, Nails Him on ‘Stay at Home’ Demand

“Without those controls, our assessment remains that the UK would see the scale of deaths reported in our study (namely, up to approximately 500 thousand).”

Nonetheless, this news is encouraging for the United States, which the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center now reports is the country with the most coronavirus infections in the world.

If social-distancing measures are working across the pond, Americans should be encouraged that they are doing the same in the U.S.

That being said, it’s worth remembering that the 550,000 figure that the media repeated countless times was never really realistic in the first place. That doomsday number assumed no measures would be taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, when in fact it was never a question of if any measures would be taken, but rather how drastic they would be.

It’s not inconceivable that governments around the world overcompensated in response to the massive, scary figures that the media originally floated.

Yet while the establishment media played plenty of attention to Ferguson’s original report, they haven’t really covered his more recent remarks.

Some, including former New York Times reporter and author Alex Berenson, have a hunch as to why.

In a lengthy thread on Twitter on Thursday, Berenson touted Berenson’s recent comments before the British Parliament as great news.

But Berenson implied that the liberal media in the U.S. may have a stake in ignoring the news in favor of encouraging hysteria.

“Not surprisingly, this testimony has received no attention in the US – I found it only in UK papers,” he tweeted. “Team Apocalypse is not interested.”

Berenson is correct.

While there is still plenty of uncertainty about the trajectory of the coronavirus, the fact that the worst-case scenario is not likely in the U.K. means it’s probably not likely in the U.S., either.

Americans should take the virus seriously, and all of us, especially those at greater risk, should not ignore recommended precautions.

But we should also not panic, because despite what you may have heard from the mainstream media, this it not a doomsday scenario.

Obama-Linked #MeToo Org Won’t Investigate Biden, Despite Ex-Staffer’s Graphic Assault Allegations

Before taking the moral high ground, one had better be certain that that ground is actually high.

The Intercept reports that a legal defense fund dedicated to paying for lawsuits against powerful men accused of sexual assault and impropriety refused to take the case of a former staffer’s accusation against Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

The accusation comes from Tara Reade, who in 1993 was a staffer for then-senator Biden. Not only does Reade allege there were several occasions in which Biden made her feel uncomfortable, but she also says explicitly that he pinned her against a wall and penetrated her with his fingers.

Reade said she told her best friend and brother at the time, and both of them recently recalled to the Intercept those conversations.

This week, she offered a more graphic account to liberal podcaster Katie Halper.

TRENDING: Hospital Worker with Coronavirus Found Dead with Her Small Child by Her Side, Hospital Issues Statement

The National Women’s Law Center that houses the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund declined to take her case earlier this year on apparently legal grounds, saying any action against the former vice president would jeopardize the fund’s tax-exempt status — a rather curious defense.

But perhaps it had more to do with the firm that spearheads all public relations for the fund, SKDKnickerbocker, whose managing director, Anita Dunn, is the top political adviser to Biden — a rather curious fact.

Do you think the Time’s Up fund should have taken the case of Biden’s accuser?

0% (0 Votes)

0% (0 Votes)

The fund itself is new, driven to creation by the #MeToo movement that sought to redress the injustice of sexual harassment and sexual assault against women.

In December 2017, the Time’s Up Foundation set up the most profitable GoFundMe ever, raking in more than $24 million before declining further donations in 2019.

To the fund’s credit, it has gone after the likes of Harvey Weinstein — a major Democratic donor — as well as other accused executives in all kinds of industries, including health care and education.

In a fact sheet, the fund says it has committed more than $10 million toward 174 cases and helped more than 73 people with “media assistance.”

The fund has ties to Biden’s old boss: Its CEO is Tina Tchen, who was chief of staff to former President Barack Obama’s wife, first lady Michelle Obama.

RELATED: Sex Assault Scandal Leaves Dems Turning on Biden En Masse: Here Are Some of the Most Brutal Comments

So why would the fund decline a harassment case against a politician, especially one who has been accused by other women with similar stories?

Was it really because the fund had a legal obligation to do so?

According to Ellen Aprill, a tax law professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, the fund is acting “too conservative” in its own analysis.

“As a legal matter,” Aprill explained to The Intercept, “if the group is clear regarding the criteria used as to whom it is taking to court, show that these are long-established neutral criteria, and they are being applied to individuals completely independent of their running for office, it would not be a violation of tax law.”

“Groups are allowed to continue to do what they have always done,” she concluded.

In other words, if the fund had operated as it always had, there would be no legal impediment to going after Biden. Instead, the fund obviously made a choice not to support the accusation for fear of damaging Biden’s presidential chances.

As for the Time’s Up fund, it is always difficult to establish oneself as a paragon of Lady Justice.

Sure, one can hold up scales in which to appraise and grip a sword in which to swing. But when you peek from under the blindfold, not only is justice no longer applied equally, it is arguably no longer justice.

Dr. Oz Drops a Truth Bomb on FOX and Friends: “Worry and Panic” will be Worse than Coronavirus for Many Patients (VIDEO)

Dr. Mehmet Oz has become a regular contributor on the FOX News Channel providing medical insight during the coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday morning, Dr. Oz warned that the “worry and panic” about the coronavirus will be worse than the actual illness for many.

Steve Doocy: I read that apparently Google searches for “panic attacks” was up like 100% because people are suffering from anxiety because they’re at home. They’re watching the news. They’re worried about their families. They’re worried about their jobs…

Dr. Oz: Often times they think they have coronavirus because they’re so anxious about it… I don’t want to downplay these issues because they actually may have coronavirus. Because people have very mild symptoms often. But the panic attack is devastating. And it is a physical problem… And these symptoms can cause all kinds of detrimental effects. And I think that is why a lot of doctors feel the worry, the panic about coronavirus is going to be worse than the actual coronavirus for them.

“If Getting Us Into $6 Trillion More Debt Doesn’t Matter, Then Why Not $350 Trillion?”

"If Getting Us Into $6 Trillion More Debt Doesn’t Matter, Then Why Not $350 Trillion?"

Shortly after 4pm, president Trump signed into law the $2 trillion fiscal stimulus also known as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), which gives the Fed the ammunition to issue up to $4.5 trillion in additional debt, a "Multitrillion Dollar Helicopter Credit Drop" as Bloomberg called it, and officially launches not only helicopter money but the biggest wealth transfer in US history, as not only will the Fed balance sheet double on short notice but will unleash an unprecedented spending spree the likes of which not even Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez could have ever imagined would take place.

One person tried to if not stop it, then at least delay and ask the critical questions that everyone else in Congress should have been asking: why are US citizens, who are supposed to be the sole beneficiaries of this emergency bailout act, just a footnote in the gargantuan bill’s deluge of electronic ones and zeroes. That person was Republican Rep. from Kentucky, Thomas Massie, who tried to force a recorded vote on the legislation, i.e., a roll coll, prompting a scramble by House members to come back to Washington to form the required quorum of at least 216 members.

Of course, Massie failed, as the vote passed and was eventually signed into law. However, Massie did at least try to bring some much needed attention to what was contained in the bill, and pose some of the key questions that so many others should have asked.

Below are some of his key points:

This bill should have been voted on much sooner in both the Senate and House and it shouldn’t be stuffed full of Nancy Pelosi’s pork- including $25 million for the Kennedy Center, grants for the National Endowment for the Humanities and Arts, and millions more other measures that have no direct relation to the Coronavirus Pandemic. That $25 million, for example, should go directly to purchasing test kits. The number one priority of this bill should have been to expand testing availability and creation of tests so that every American, not just the wealthy and privileged, have access to testing. We have shut down the world’s economy without adequate data. Everyone, even those with no symptoms, needs immediate access to a test.

Of course, to quote none other than Nancy, "we have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it", and we are confident that in just a few months, everyone will find out precisely why the bill was so rushed: because out of the $2 trillion, only $290 billion is meant for direct payments to families, which as a reminder was the whole point of the bill.

Massie also pointed out that among the bill’s key provisions was the even greater entrenchment of Fed secrecy, a Fed  which in theory is there to serve the people yet which has successfully defended against an open audit for over a decade:

This bill creates even more secrecy around a Federal Reserve that still refuses to be audited. It allows the Federal Reserve to make decisions about who gets what, how much money we’ll print. With no transparency.

Massie was referring to the fact that the bill repeals the sunshine law for the Fed’s meetings until the end of the year, or until the President says the coronavirus threat is over, which may very well be never. That, as Wall Street on Parade notes, "could make any FOIA lawsuits to unleash details of what’s going on next to impossible since it has been codified in a federal law." The bill states the following:

SEC. 4009. TEMPORARY GOVERNMENT IN THE SUNSHINE ACT RELIEF. (a) IN GENERAL.—Except as provided in subsection 8 (b), notwithstanding any other provision of law, if the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System determines, in writing, that unusual and exigent circumstances exist, the Board may conduct meetings without regard to the requirements of section 552b of title 5, United States Code, during the period beginning on the date of enactment of this Act and ending on the earlier of— (1) the date on which the national emergency concerning the novel coronavirus disease (COVID–19) outbreak declared by the President on March 13, 2020 under the National Emergencies Act (50 20 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) terminates; or (2) December 31, 2020.

This would also mean that US taxpayer will never learn why they went into debt to the tune of $454 billion, which would then be levered 10x by the Fed to issue up to $4.5 trillion in loans to companies the Fed deems appropriate, if no records are being maintained.

However, Massie’s final point that was the punchline:

If getting us into $6 trillion more debt doesn’t matter, then why are we not getting $350 trillion more in debt so that we can give a check of $1 million to every person in the country?

Here the Kentucky Representative hit the bullseye, as this is precisely the endgame. However, since one can’t unleash the full $350 trillion overnight without classical economists admitting the truth about what the real nature of this bailout is, it will be done piecemeal with other crises, and other "unprecedented" emergencies emerging in the near future and unlocking the path to what is the real goal of this unprecedented reflationary bailout of the world’s most indebted nation. It also indirectly addresses Massie’s final point:

This stimulus should go straight to the people rather than being funneled through banks and corporations like this bill is doing.  2 trillion divided by 150 million workers is about $13,333.00 per person. That’s much more than the $1,200 per person check authorized by this bill.

Indeed, the math is simple, and the stimulus isn’t going directly to the people for one simple reason: that’s not its purpose. Instead, its purpose is to not only provide trillions in corporate welfare, but to greenlight self-reinforcing helicopter money whereby the Treasury will now have to issue trillions and trillions in debt and the Fed will have to monetize it or else interest rates will explode.

Of course, this arrangement may prompt other questions, like for example "why pay taxes if the Treasury can just print whatever debt it needs, and the Fed can just buy it", something we have said for over a decade, but we will leave that particular train of thought to another enterprising politician to address… and be ridiculed.

And speaking of ridicule, how do we know that Massie struck a raw nerve? Because shortly after his protest he was mocked not only by the republican president but also by some of the most prominent democrat.

And in case anyone still hasn’t figured it out, the whole "republican, democrat" split of the population in two rival camps is nothing more than theater meant to distract while those in control loot not only the here and now, but also rob the future generations blind. Because the sad truth is that behind the fake veneer of either progressive ideals of conservative values, politicians on both sides have one simple directive: to perpetuate the broken status quo for as long as humanly possible, and get as rich as possible in the process.
