On February 4, President Trump delivered his State of the Union Address, during which he addressed the threat to America from the coronavirus, asserting, “Protecting Americans’ health also means fighting infectious diseases. We are coordinating with the Chinese government and working closely together on the coronavirus outbreak in China. My administration will take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from this threat.”

While Trump was addressing problems facing the nation, House Speaker was fuming; as soon as Trump finished speaking she tore the printed copy of the speech up. Later, when she was asked why she did so, considering she had admonished Democrats to act with dignity, she snapped, “I tore up a manifesto of mistruths.” Gesturing to reporters, she continued, “It’s very hard for us to get you to talk about the issues that we are working on … it was necessary to get the attention of the American people to say. ‘This is not true.’ … I don’t need any lessons from anybody, especially the President of the United States, about dignity.”

On January 14, the World Health Organization tweeted that there was no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus:

WHO declared on January 30 the 2019-nCoV outbreak a public health emergency of international concern, acknowledging, “The Committee also acknowledged that there are still many unknowns, cases have now been reported in five WHO regions in one month, and human-to-human transmission has occurred outside Wuhan and outside China.”

The very next day, on January 31, four days before the State of the Union speech, and the day after the World Health Organization finally admitted that there was human transmission of the coronavirus, Trump instituted a ban on people coming from China. Trump issued a statement asserting:

During Fiscal Year 2019, an average of more than 14,000 people traveled to the United States from China each day, via both direct and indirect flights.  The United States Government is unable to effectively evaluate and monitor all of the travelers continuing to arrive from China.  The potential for widespread transmission of the virus by infected individuals seeking to enter the United States threatens the security of our transportation system and infrastructure and the national security.

Given the importance of protecting persons within the United States from the threat of this harmful communicable disease, I have determined that it is in the interests of the United States to take action to restrict and suspend the entry into the United States, as immigrants or nonimmigrants, of all aliens who were physically present within the People’s Republic of China, excluding the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau, during the 14-day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States.

And what was Pelosi doing on January 31? She was busy with two things: condemning Trump’s travel ban that he had instituted three years before, and much more importantly for her, issuing a statement calling Senate Republicans “accomplices to the President’s cover-up,” and chortling that Trump was impeached forever, stating, “The President was impeached for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.  He is impeached forever.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on Wednesday that she hopes that Democrats can get more Democrat provisions in a phase four coronavirus package.

Anderson Cooper asked Pelosi what she thought of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) contention that Congress should wait to see how the phase three coronavirus response package impacts the pandemic before moving to a phase four bill.

In response, Pelosi admitted that Democrats were not able to obtain many Democrat provisions in the phase three coronavirus bill drafted by Senate Republicans.

“We couldn’t get everything we wanted in the other bill, let’s begin to go down this path,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi’s jockeying for a phase four coronavirus response bill appears to be a move to stuff more leftist special interests in the bill.

Despite Pelosi’s negotiations with McConnell and the White House on the phase three coronavirus package, she moved to push her own stage three bill that would contain more Democrat provisions.

Democrat Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) said in February regarding the Democrat phase three bill, “This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”

The Pelosi coronavirus bill included:

• Increased fuel emissions standards for airlines receiving coronavirus assistance funds.
• Student loans payments up to $10,000
• Same-day voter registration, early voting, voting by mail, and ballot harvesting
• Preserving collective bargaining for unions
• Expansion of wind and solar tax credits
• Requirements for federal and corporate racial diversity data
• A Post Office bailout
• Automatic extension of nonimmigrant visas
• Restricting colleges from providing information about citizenship status
• Funds for Planned Parenthood
• $300,000,000 for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which produces PBS to “prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.”
• $278,000,000 for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
• $500,000,000 for the Institute for Museum and Library Services
• $35,000,000 for the John F. Kennedy Center

However, despite Pelosi’s move to push her own bill, she ended up supporting McConnell’s phase three bill. Due to Senate Republicans’ victory over Pelosi, the Republican Party was able to block many leftist provisions in the phase three bill including:

• Money for Planned Parenthood.
• Green New Deal
• Federal Mandates for Early and Mail Voting
• Postal Service Bailout
• DHS Funding Restrictions.

“If Chuck Schumer had his way, he would have eliminated the direct checks,” one Senate Republican aide told Breitbart News’s Charlie Spiering in March.

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has warned Democrats against pushing for more leftist provisions in a future coronavirus bill. He said in a statement on Wednesday:

This should be a shared interest due to the collaborative and bipartisan approach from which the previous three phases were built upon.

As the legislation from the first three phases is implemented, Republicans stand ready to work across the aisle to support the individuals and institutions that will need more help in the fight against the virus. But the American people cannot afford the distraction of continued attempts to force partisan objectives into our response. Offsetting the carbon footprint of airplanes, remaking our energy grid, or changing election laws, as Democrats have suggested, have nothing to do with our war against the disease.

This isn’t a time to attempt to reshape American life through the eyes of one political party. This is a crisis that demands a bipartisan commitment to focus and execute on behalf of every American affected.

“We will fight this disease together — until we win, together,” McCarthy said.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 87, is continuing to work out at the Supreme Court’s private gym despite the coronavirus pandemic and D.C.’s stringent stay-at-home orders, her trainer revealed this week.

Her trainer, Bryant Johnson, told Law360 that Ginsburg, who has battled with serious health issues over the years and maintains a status as a four-time cancer survivor, is continuing to participate in her twice-a-week workouts at the Supreme Court’s private facility, even though everything is virtually shut down due to the coronavirus.

“Everybody’s been shut down. The only reason why I didn’t shut the justice down is because, hey, she ain’t having it,” Johnson said. “She has that grandfather status to me and if she wants to train, that‘s the least that I can do.”

“Her choice is, she doesn’t make excuses not to do it,” he added. “So we find ways to do it.”

Johnson suggested that the two are engaging in social distancing and carefully wiping down equipment in order to ensure their safety.

“Well it’s like this: Before I go in, I wipe down every piece of equipment that I think she is going to touch and come in contact with,” Johnson explained. “Then I go back in and wash my hands.”

“All I have to do is set it up and she just automatically knows exactly what I want to do,” he continued. “It doesn’t require me to grab her, hold her, get up close and personal.”

“I don’t know anybody who doesn’t feel better after a workout is completed and that includes the justice,” he said. “No matter what, we try to get it in twice a week.”

Ginsburg’s workouts come as Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a stringent stay-at-home order for the district. Even the justices have opted to dial into their conferences.

According to Bowser’s order, a building’s gym, lounge, or courtyard spaces are off limits, or categorized as nonessential:

Individuals shall not linger in common areas of apartment buildings and shall not use buildings’ facilities, such as gyms, party rooms, lounges, rooftop, or courtyard spaces. Such spaces are unlikely to be disinfected often and could otherwise exposed individuals to the COVID-19 virus.

The order also specifies that the term “Health Care Operation” does not include fitness facilities, exercise gyms, spas, massage parlors, or other similar facilities.”

According to the release, those who “willfully” violate the order “may be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, subject to a fine not exceeding $5,000, imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both.”

“Our message remains the same: stay home,” Bowser said in a statement. “Staying at home is the best way to flatten the curve and protect yourself, your family, and our entire community from COVID-19.

“Many people want to know how they can help right now, and for most people this is how – by staying home,” she added.

Police in the Midwest forcefully shut down Hobby Lobby stores after the stores remained open in defiance to the coronavirus lockdown.

Liquor stores are deemed essential businesses but mothers with children at home are out of luck.

Police in Wisconsin and Indiana had to step in and close multiple Hobby Lobby arts-and-crafts stores this week after they reopened in violation of restrictions on non-essential businesses that have been imposed to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

It also has emerged that all 19 Hobby Lobby locations in Ohio were back in business after only a brief hiatus, despite a stay-at-home order that was issued by Gov Mike DeWine on March 23.

The company reopened nearly all of its stores in Wisconsin, where Gov Tony Evers signed a ‘safer at home’ order on March 24 mandating, among other things, the closure of all non-essential businesses.

Craft stores are a necessity for everyone locked up at home with nothing to do. This is really religious persecution. Wisconsin’s list of non-essential businesses targets beauty parlors, spas, and other health services.

Secondly, schools are all online now.  Kids kindergarten through college are home schooling online.
They need art and other supplies for home schooling.  The governor is interfering with education.

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the administration was launching an all out assault on Mexican drug cartels using the U.S. Military.

“As governments and nations focus on the Coronavirus, there is a growing threat that cartels, criminals, terrorists, and other malign actors will try to exploit the situation for their own gain and we must not let that happen,” Trump said. “We will never let that happen. Today the United States is launching enhanced counter narcotics operations in the western hemisphere to protect the American people from the deadly scourge of illegal narcotics.”

“We must not let the drug cartels exploit the pandemic to threaten American lives,” Trump continued. “In cooperation with the 22 partner nations, the U.S. Southern Command will increase surveillance, disruption, and seizures of drug shipments, and provide additional support for eradication efforts that are going on right now at a record pace.”

“We are deploying additional Navy destroyers, combat ships, aircraft and helicopters, Coast Guard cutters and Air Force surveillance aircraft, doubling the capabilities in the region,” Trump continued. “Very importantly, our forces are fully equipped with personnel protective equipment, and we have taken additional safety measures to ensure that our troops remain healthy.”

Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said, “Today at the president’s direction, the Department of Defense in close cooperation with our interagency partners began enhanced narcotics separations in eastern Pacific oceans and the Caribbean sea.”

“To conduct to the enhanced operations, the president has directed deployment of ships, aircraft and security forces to the United States Southern Command area of responsibility,” Esper continued. “Included in this force package are Navy destroyers and littoral combat ships, Coast Guard cutters, P8 control aircraft, and elements of an Army security force assistance brigade. These additional forces will nearly double our capacity to conduct counter narcotics operations in the region.”

What the country needs now is more Adam Schiff.

The California congressman and chairman of the House Intelligence Committee who led unsuccessful impeachment prosecution of President Donald Trump has been self-isolating for the past two weeks after a staffer tested positive for the coronavirus.

But he returned with a splash this week, using an interview with The Washington Post to announce he is introducing a bill to set up a “commission” to study the country’s response to the pandemic – and no doubt lay the blame on President Donald Trump’s head.

Schiff has been communicating with his constituents in virtual town halls while spending time in self-isolation, according to the Los Angeles Times, after a staffer tested positive for the coronavirus. He broke the news about the commission in an email to Post columnist David Ignatious.

In it, Schiff graciously acknowledged that events will have to play out before his proposed commission could start getting to the bottom of how it could turn into a weapon against the administration.

“We will need to delay the work of the commission until the crisis has abated to ensure that it does not interfere with the agencies that are leading the response,”  Schiff told Ignatious in the email. “But that should not prevent us from beginning to identify where we got it wrong and how we can be prepared for the next pandemic.”

Even a country reeling under attack from an invisible enemy like the coronavirus, which had killed almost 4,500 Americans by Wednesday, according to Johns Hopkins University statistics, can remember it was only a few months ago that Schiff was leading the sham effort to oust a sitting American president on the most spurious of charges.

They’ll also remember that it all took place with the blessing of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who appeared to hint at some sort of post-coronavirus commission in a Sunday interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” where she referred to an “after-action report” that would be prepared to judge — and no doubt crucify — the president’s response.

To pretend this that this man has the moral fiber or intellectual integrity to do anything other than use a commission to try to destroy Trump agin would be to believe in fairy tales. And conservatives aren’t usually the side of politics that’s vulnerable to that.

Would you trust Adam Schiff to establish a “nonpartisan commission” to investigate the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus?

Any Schiff-tainted investigation of the current situation would be a trial of Trump before a hanging judge, with the noose already tied.

The news Schiff is planning to cynically use the coronavirus crisis in yet another attempt to take down Trump did not sit well with many social media users who responded to Schiff’s announcement on Twitter on Wednesday.

While he had the expected comments from Trump-hating liberals (science will find a cure for COVID-19 long before it cures Trump Derangement Syndrome), a fair number had Schiff’s duplicitous number.

That last one raises an excellent point. While Democrats and their childish cheerleaders in the mainstream media were pretending they had a chance of removing Trump from office while his party held control of the body that was actually voting on the issue, Washington was essentially paralyzed.

At a news conference Tuesday, Trump said he didn’t think his attention was diverted from the coronavirus crisis by the threat to his presidency and the facts show that he was already responding, if it wasn’t being noticed by the impeachment-obsessed media.

As Breitbart noted on Wednesday, the White House Coronavirus Task Force was established on Jan. 27, Trump chaired a meeting of the task force on Jan. 29, and on Jan. 31, Trump imposed a travel ban on travelers from China.

Clearly, Trump was still performing his duties as the president, and the White House was functioning in an orderly manner, but it’s impossible to believe it wasn’t affected at all by the fact that, all the while, House Democrats were making their insanely stupid argument in the Senate that the president should be forced from office for his disputed handling of aid Ukraine.

And Congress, naturally, was incapable of any action at all.

Even at a remove of only two months, it’s nearly impossible to believe.

The fact that that argument was led by the loathsome Schiff — a man whose reputation for partisan dishonesty was cemented by the fact that he almost certainly lied throughout the impeachment charade about whether he knew the identity of the “whistleblower” who started the long, national nightmare — won’t be forgotten by any sane American.

The reality is that Democrats have covered themselves in such disgrace throughout the Trump presidency, painting themselves as a #Resistance force instead of as a loyal opposition, that they have zero credibility with any Trump supporter, and probably just as little with any “independent” who kept an open mind about the president.

The only ones who will likely support any commission Schiff is involved in creating — “nonpartisan” or otherwise — are Trump-hating Democrats. And all but the dumbest of them would know its results will be a lie, but a lie they can use politically.

Actually, what this country doesn’t need more of is more Adam Schiff. It’s got coronavirus on its hands already.
