On Friday afternoon, the city council in the small town of Atwater, California defied California Governor Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home order and voted to declare itself a “sanctuary city” for businesses. The city council stated that its move “affirms the city’s commitment to fundamental constitutional rights,” ABC30 reported.

Atwater Mayor Paul Creighton exhorted, “This is America. You have the choice. It’s time for the government to stop dictating another month, another three months, six months. When is it going to end? When everyone is bankrupt?”

“At the Friday meeting, most people coming up to speak were for the sanctuary city reopening, not to mention members of the City Council and the Mayor voicing approval as well,” the California Globe reported.

Councilman Brian Raymond, who proposed the sanctuary city declaration, noted that some Californian cities, such as Coalinga, have simply declared that all businesses as being essential. But Raymond also noted that no city had declared itself a sanctuary city for businesses until Atwater.

Although the city, which is located in Merced County and has a population of roughly 28,000, is open for business, businesses that are regulated by the state could have their licenses revoked, which may inhibit them from opening. Creighton advised, “We’re not looking to jeopardize anyone’s business. That’s a license you hold with the state of California. So, we don’t want to cause any harm there, use your best judgment.”

Churches will be permitted to reopen; Victory Baptist church pastor Richard Miller announced that on Sunday he would hold outdoor services, adding that having temporarily held service online had “actually helped us to be more educated on how to keep things clean and reach out to people who can’t make it out to church.”

“Counties that feel their area is ahead of California’s curve are required to meet certain guidelines to move further into Phase 2. Merced County is not one of the counties approved to do so,” ABC30 noted.

On May 5, as California moved to Stage 2 of reopening, Newsom stated, “We’re not going back to normal. It’s a new normal with adaptations and modifications, until we get to immunity and a vaccine.” The San Francisco Chronicle noted of Stage 2:

Schools, summer programs, childcare facilities and low-risk businesses will reopen with adaptations and modifications to promote social distancing … Dr. Sonia Angell Angel, director of the California Department of Public Health, said retail may be allowed to reopen with curbside pickup and non-essential manufacturing for products such as clothing and toys could restart.

The Chronicle reported on May 5, “The new Bay Area order prohibits most retail from opening through May 31. Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara have allowed essential businesses such as grocery stores to remain open during the pandemic and on Monday allowed outdoor retailers such as plant nurseries to welcome back customers.”

Navarro told ABC News’ “This Week” that the “Chinese—behind the shield of the World Health Organization—for two months hid the virus from the world and then sent hundreds of thousands of Chinese on aircraft to Milan, New York and around the world to seed that. They could have kept it in Wuhan, but instead, it became a pandemic.”

Former President Barack Obama directed the conspiracy of top intelligence community aides who sought to take down former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, President Donald Trump said Sunday.

Trump appeared Sunday on the Fox News show “Sunday Morning Futures.” He was interviewed Wednesday by host Maria Bartiromo.

Much of their conversation centered around the case of Flynn, who had been accused of improperly communicating with a foreign official after his phone calls to a former Russian ambassador during Trump’s transition period were listened to and later leaked. Flynn was forced to step down, and later faced charges after an FBI investigation.

The Justice Department is currently seeking to drop charges against Flynn and have his case dismissed.

Flynn was among those “unmasked” by Obama-era officials. Unmasking is the intelligence term used for those instances when American citizens speaking to foreign nationals under surveillance have their identities revealed. It takes an official request to do so.

In recent days, the Trump administration released a list of Obama administration officials who made unmasking requests and who could have learned of Flynn’s identity through them.

Due to the presence on that list of former Vice President and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, and comments from the attorney currently representing Flynn, Obama’s name has now become linked to the effort to target Flynn.

Other names on the list include former U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey and former White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough.

Trump pulled no punches in the interview.

“It was the greatest political crime in the history of our country,” he said.

“If I were a Democrat instead of a Republican, I think everybody would have been in jail a long time ago. And I’m talking with 50-year sentences,” the president said. “It is a disgrace, what’s happened. This is the greatest political scam, hoax in the history of our country, and people should be going to jail for this stuff. And, hopefully, a lot of people are going to have to pay.”

He said that “Flynn and others are heroes, heroes, because what’s happened to them — they weren’t after General Flynn. They wanted him to lie about me, make up a story. And with few exceptions, nobody did that,” he said.

“This was all Obama. This was all Biden. These people were corrupt. The whole thing was corrupt. And we caught them. We caught them,” Trump said.

The president fired a shot at Biden.

“I watched Biden yesterday. He could barely speak,” Trump said. “He was on ‘Good Morning America,’ right? And he said he didn’t know anything about it. And now it just gets released. Right after he said that, it gets released that he was one of the unmaskers, meaning he knew everything about it.”

The president said the Obama-era intelligence community “went after these people viciously, all because they wanted to hurt the president of the United States. They figure they’ll either hurt him or they’ll take him out. That would be the ideal.

“Comey is a corrupt person, but let me tell you, Brennan bad. They’re all bad, everyone. Clapper is a not-smart guy, in charge of intelligence. But here’s the thing. It was impossible for it to happen without the man that sits right in that chair in the Oval Office. He knew everything.”

Bartiromo asked Trump whether Obama directed the effort against him.

“Yes, he probably directed them. But if he didn’t direct them, he knew everything. And you will see that,” he said.

Trump noted that communications from FBI agents involved in the hunt for evidence to show his campaign colluded with Russia mentioned that the then-president wanted to see everything.

“They’re not talking about me. I wasn’t president. They’re talking about ‘POTUS wants to see everything.’” Trump said.

He said Brennan was “totally involved.”

“John Brennan was one of the architects, in my opinion. You look at Brennan, you look at Clapper, you look at them all,” the president said.

Trump said the intelligence community did not go rogue.

“But, ultimately, the president knew everything. The president knew everything. President Obama and Vice President Biden, they knew everything,” he said.

The president said the truth has finally emerged.

“If this happened to Obama instead of to a Republican president that’s popular, 96 percent in the Republican Party, but it’s a whole different thing. If this happened to Obama instead of to me, you know what? Everybody would be in jail for years already, for years. It’s a disgraceful thing,” Trump said.

“We caught them in the act, Maria. It’s a beautiful thing,” he said. “And every day, we’re seeing more and more information come out. We caught them. And their guys are gone. They were guarding the fort. Comey and all these guys, they were guarding the fort. And once they left, it got easier and easier.

“And now it’s like an avalanche of really bad — call it treason, call it whatever you want, but they tried to take down a duly elected president of the United States.”

Colorado’s Democratic Gov. Jared Polis on Sunday ripped the coronavirus death counts conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), saying the numbers are grossly inflated.

Some states are attributing all sorts of deaths to coronavirus, even though many of those who have died had severe comorbidities, such as heart disease, diabetes or obesity.

Polis’s charges came just days after his own state’s health department admitted Colorado’s death numbers have been inflated to include people who had the virus but died from other causes. The state dropped its numbers nearly 20%, from 1,150 people to 878.

“The CDC criteria include anybody who has died with COVID-19, but what the people of Colorado and the people of the country want to know is how many people died of COVID-19,” Polis told “Fox News Sunday.”

“One of the reasons we wanted to make sure we reported it out in a better way was to inspire confidence so that it wouldn’t be politicized,” Polis said. “These are deaths that should not be politicized.”

Fox New said that “inconsistencies in death counts have been happening on both the state and national level. As of Friday, Johns Hopkins University data counted 85,974 national COVID-19 deaths, while the CDC was reporting 83,947 that same day. There has been concern that even the CDC’s lower number may be artificially high.”

Polis’s concerns are well founded. New York City officials last month ordered hospitals to count the deaths of people who were presumed — not confirmed, presumed — to have COVID-19 as deaths from the virus. Hospitals across the country also receive more money from the federal government for treating COVID-19 patients, which has also led to inflated numbers.

The Colorado governor said he has a good working relationship with President Trump, a Republican.

“Look, I happen to be a Democrat, but what I’ve said is he’s the president we have, and I owe it to the people of my state who elected me to work with any president. There’s a time for politics, there’s a time for elections,” Polis said. “This isn’t it.”

Polis also said he wants to reopen state schools in the fall. “By and large, I think across our state and across our nation are going to be able to return to school in the fall, it’s just not going to look like any other school year,” he said.

On Friday Secretary of State Mike Pompeo fired Inspector General Steve Linick who served as the State Department IG since 2013.

Linick played a role in the faux impeachment of President Trump over Ukraine.

Linick requested an urgent meeting with Congressional Democrat staffers. During the meeting Linick handed over documents related to the Trump administration and Ukraine.
The entire impeachment was a scam to divert attention away from the Biden Crime Family and Hunter Biden’s pay-for-play with Burisma Holdings.

Linick was an anti-Trump hack who should have been removed months ago.

President Donald Trump reminded Sen. Mitt Romney on Monday that he is a loser whom former President Barack Obama defeated in 2012.

Romney again publicly opposed the president’s decision to fire inspectors generals who were investigating his administration. On Friday night, Trump fired the State Department’s inspector general, Steve Linick, whom former President Barack Obama appointed, prompting Romney’s criticism.

“The firings of multiple Inspectors General is unprecedented; doing so without good cause chills the independence essential to their purpose,” Romney wrote on Twitter:

Law enforcement sources indicated that Pensacola, Florida, Naval Air Base gunman Mohammed Alshamrani had contact with Al Qaeda prior to opening fire on innocents on December 6, 2019.

Alshamrani used a handgun to carry out his attack, killing three innocents and causing numerous others to be transported to the hospital for injuries, Breitbart News reported.

Law enforcement sources affirm that Alshamrani had contact with Al Qaeda before he carried out the attack, Fox News reported.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) released “an audio recording” in February 2020 in which the group claimed to have directed Alshamrani to carry out the attack, NBC News reported.

FBI agents discovered two phones belonging to Alshamrani after his attack. He had placed one “on the floor and shot at in an attempt to destroy any data it held.” Authorities are now seeking access to one of the phones tied to Alshamrani, and that requires persuading Apple to unlock it so it can be used for information.

Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak took a swipe at media elites who have the luxury of working from home but who are discouraging less fortunate, out-of-work Americans from leaving their homes. The long-time game show host said that “it’s okay to question” the dominant media narrative pressuring people to stay indoors.

Sajak tweeted his message over the weekend, addressing those Americans who find they “can’t work, pay bills or pay their rent or mortgage” during the coronavirus crisis.

“When a disc jockey or a talk show host or a journalist who is being paid to work from his or her home tells people who can’t work, pay bills or pay their rent or mortgage to ‘Stay home and be careful because we’re all in this together,’ it’s okay to question the premise,” he wrote.

Sajak’s message comes as pressure continues to build throughout the country for states to lift shelter-at-home restrictions and to allow businesses to re-open. During the weekend, anti-quarantine protesters took to the streets in numerous states, including true-blue California and New York.

More than 36 million people have filed unemployment claims as a result of the coronavirus lockdowns. But mainstream media outlets have frequently portrayed  protestors as irresponsible and sometimes even dangerous, claiming that they are being manipulated by political operatives.

Pat Sajak, who recently recovered from surgery, is a rare Hollywood conservative who continues to work in the industry. In the past, he has used social media to criticize the liberal media, global warming activists, and the Obama administration.

With an election involving a former top Obama administration official looming, leftists are desperate to explain away the so-called “Obamagate” scandal, calling the Obama administration’s “unmasking” of former national security advisor Michael Flynn everything from “routine” to “conspiratorial” (on the part of supporters of President Donald Trump).

Left-leaning Vanity Fair opinion writer Gabriel Sherman tried to back Trump supporters into a corner over the issue on Monday, suggesting that Flynn got what he deserved for communicating with a Russian ambassador.

“Serious questions for Trumpers,” Sherman tweeted. “What is the scandal of unmasking an American official caught on an intercept discussing US sanctions policy with Ambassador of a hostile foreign country that had just launched a massive cyber attack on our election?”

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz didn’t even need to bat an eye to bat down Sherman’s theory.

Addressing Sherman in a quote-tweet, Cruz explained it perfectly.

“Uhh, he was the incoming National Security Advisor & a 3-star general,” Cruz shot back. “He’s SUPPOSED to discuss sanctions policy. That’s his job. The unmasking was part of outgoing admin launching a massive sting operation to try to entrap him. Maybe this helps: imagine Bush doing same to Obama.”

Indeed, Flynn was discussing sanctions with a Russian official — not simply a random Russian citizen, but a Russian ambassador, albeit one that was under surveillance by the Obama administration’s Department of Justice. As the national security advisor for an incoming administration, Flynn was charged with establishing Trump administration communications with ambassadors of global governments, including Russia.

“Unmasking” typically refers to requests, made to intelligence agencies, to identify unnamed officials mentioned in surveillance reports. In this case, it appears that members of the Obama administration — as senior as President Barack Obama and former Vice President-turned-2020 Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden — repeatedly requested “unmaskings,” likely to determine whether Trump campaign and transition team members were communicating with any unsavory individuals, in order to discover a “smoking gun,” tying the campaign to Russian efforts to upened the 2016 presidential election.

It’s also simpler than that: it was Flynn’s job to establish lines of communication, and it was a job the Obama administration was pledged to assist with. The State Department, although it seemed like a joke at the time, indicated back in June of 2019 that they would, indeed, help members of an incoming Trump administration make those contacts.

Then there’s the matter of the Obama administration leaking information about Flynn’s communications which is, in and of itself, a separate and perhaps more critical issue, tied closely in with the theory that the Obama administration intended to paint the Trump administration as crooked from the beginning.

Fortunately, Ted Cruz was able to put it more succinctly: it was simply Flynn’s job and the issue might not be the same if the parties involved were switched.
