Muslim Fulani raiders in north-west Nigeria slaughtered 12 Christians and kidnapped a couple from their church wedding ceremony in recent days, Christian Today reports.
In late April, Fulani militants killed seven Christians in three separate attacks over five days in Rafi County, including the execution of two Christians in Gidigori village on April 20th.
A group of Islamists also stormed a church in Shiroro County where a wedding was taking place on April 12th, kidnapping the bride and groom along with some other church members.
“As the pastor was officiating during the wedding solemnization, the herdsmen stormed the church and took away everyone who was unable to escape from the church building, including the bride and groom,” said area resident Danjuma Iliya.
“In that village, five Christians were killed in the series of attacks carried out by the herdsmen.”

Armed Fulani herdsmen also abducted Emmanuel Iliya Agiya, elder and treasurer of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Jema’a County on April 22nd.
The raiders reportedly fired shots into the air to scare local villagers before breaking into Iliya’s house and leading him away at gunpoint.
“The armed herdsmen first tried to forcefully gain entry into the house of the brother of the victim but were unsuccessful,” said Aku Joshua Shai, an eyewitness to the attack. “They then proceeded to the next house, the victim’s house, dragged him out, and then took him away at gunpoint.”
Shai added that in the same county, armed Fulani militants attacked Zakkan village on April 14, killing one Christian, 40-year-old Abel Danjuma, and wounding two others.
“The three victims are members of the Catholic Church at Zakkan village,” Shai said. “The herdsmen, too, blocked the Abuja-Jos route at Zakkan village and kidnapped two young girls who were travelling from Abuja to Taraba state. The girls were later rescued and set free by Christians from Zakkan village who went in pursuit of the herdsmen and rescued the girls.”
The U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom included Nigeria in its shortlist of “Countries of Particular Concern” (CPC) in its 2020 report released last week, asserting that the nation is guilty of engaging in or tolerating “particularly severe” violations of religious freedom.
Likewise, in December 2019, the State Department named Nigeria to its Special Watch List (SWL) for severe violations of religious liberty.

Virgil first wrote about the Deep State in December 2016, and he first wrote about the Michael Flynn case in January 2017—and yet he didn’t know the half of it.
Oh sure, Virgil knew from the get-go that Donald Trump had plenty of enemies, including inside the federal government. That’s why, back on
, headlined, “The Deep State vs. Donald Trump.” At the time, nearly four years ago, Virgil defined this Deep State as including “not only bureaucrats, but also a galaxy of contractors, profiteers, and others in the nominal private sector”—all of them oriented, of course, to Powertown, aka, Washington, D.C.

Notably, Virgil singled out the “highly politicized” intelligence agencies, noting that many “liberal apparatchiks” installed by President Barack Obama were still in high places.
Looking ahead, Virgil prophesied, “The anti-Trumpers will systematically defame and degrade the 45th president with an eye toward paralyzing his effectiveness in office and hopefully making him a one-termer—or less.” We might note that these words were written months before Robert Mueller was hired as an investigating—some would say witch-hunting—special counsel, looking into what the Main Stream Media gleefully dubbed “Russiagate.”

Yet still, in December 2016, Virgil had no way of knowing just how ruthless the Deep State would prove to be in its effort to destroy Trump.
That ruthlessness started to become more clear the following month, when
on a telephone conversation between Trump’s incoming national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and the Russian ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak.

We might note that it was perfectly legal for Flynn to talk to Kislyak; indeed, it would be assumed that a top official in the next administration would be in frequent contact with foreign officials, functioning as part of the normal presidential-transition process. And yet the Post’s Ignatius treated the leaked conversation as some sort of scandal as part, of course, of the emerging MSM allegation-narrative—that Trump was in cahoots with Vladimir Putin.
Russian President Vladimir Putin (R) and US President Donald Trump shake hands before a meeting in Helsinki, on July 16, 2018.
, Virgil took note of this anti-Trump framing, as well as the obvious point that high-level conversations are supposed to stay secret, or at least private. Quoth Virgil:
Now how did Ignatius know that? The Post-man won’t say, other than that he got his information from a “senior US government official.” Once again, such disclosures aren’t legal, but once again, nobody in Washington, DC, seems to care.
Indeed, Virgil added, many Beltwayites were cheering that Flynn had been exposed; as Virgil put it, “Trump administration officials are getting the Deep State treatment.”
And as we all remember, Flynn was interviewed, in the White House, by the FBI on January 24, accused of lying—an accusation that soon
, of course—and so he was forced to resign on February 13. Then, in December 2017, at the instigation of Mueller’s office, Flynn pled guilty to “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to the FBI regarding his conversations with Kislyak.
There’s a lot more to the story, of course, and we’ll get to that soon. But first, a bit more on the Deep State.
Deep State Update
In the three-and-a-half years since those first two articles, Virgil has written dozens of pieces on the Deep State. And many people, including critics, have noticed. For instance, there’s
New York Times
reporter David Rohde, who just last month published
that appears in December of 2016, after Trump has won. And that’s when it really gets a broad audience, in a column by someone whose pen name is Virgil.
Rohde was dismissive of the idea that there was any such thing as a Deep State targeting of Trump, although interestingly, he freely observed that many times over the last 50 years, the FBI, CIA, and other agencies have meddled where they shouldn’t have. And yet still, Rohde wrote off Virgilian concerns about Deep State operations against Trump as merely an instance of “Americans’ long-standing suspicions of government, particularly among conservatives.”
The Deep State: Deeper Than We Knew
So yes, Virgil was wise to the Deep State early on, and yet even he, old soul that he is, has been surprised to learn of the depths of the Deep State.
Just in the last week or so, we’ve learned the full relentlessness of the Deep State’s FBI branch. And we’ve also learned that Flynn’s new lawyer, Sidney Powell, has been equally relentless in her effort to shine a light into the bureaucratic black hole. Not surprisingly, Deep Statists have fought Powell every step of the way; for instance on
, the Justice Department jibed in an official brief that she was engaging in “conspiracy theories.”

And yet as a result of Powell’s efforts, the conspiracy has been proven to be not only real, but also to be
Federal Bureau of Investigation documents unsealed on Wednesday showed that FBI agents strategized on January 24, 2017, before speaking with former National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mike Flynn, about getting him to admit to breaking the Logan Act or getting him to lie so that he could be prosecuted or fired.
In other words, the FBI wasn’t working to find justice; it was plotting to get Flynn. Most egregiously, a handwritten note by former FBI man Bill Priestap, composed prior to the bureau’s January 24 interview of Flynn, asked the following: “What is our goal? Truth/Admission, or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?” So there we have it, in a Deep Statist’s own words: How do we stage a micro-coup against the White House?
People should look at this for what it is: taxpayers funded this nonsense, and to think that four days into our administration, they’re coming into the White House—not to be helpful to the incoming administration, the national security advisor and by extension helpful to you, the American people and our new presidency—but to try to trip him up, get him ‘fired’ or get him to lie. And that is a disgrace, and everybody, as the president has said, should be concerned about that regardless of your political affiliation.
Indeed, much of the commentary has been withering. Former Justice Department prosecutor Andrew McCarthy wrote of the Flynn saga, “The closer one looks, the worse it gets. We can say that narrowly about the Flynn prosecution, and more generally about the Mueller investigation.” Meanwhile, George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley declared flatly: “Justice demands a dismissal of his prosecution.”
, a former top adviser to both Bill and Hillary Clinton, added even more own stinging criticism:
The new documents are in effect the “smoking gun” proving that a cabal at the FBI acted above the law and with extreme political bias, targeting people for prosecution rather than investigating crimes.
In order to flatten the curve of the coronavirus, the politicians told us we must lockdown and be quarantined while our economy collapsed. They told us we had to flatten the curve to ensure our health care system was not be overwhelmed by the sick and dying. They told us that if the health care system was overwhelmed, people would die who could otherwise be saved. They told us losing people who could be saved is intolerable, and America agreed…
And so, for the first time in recorded history, healthy Americans dutifully fulfilled our end of the bargain and went into quarantine by dutifully agreeing to going into lockdown while our economy collapsed.
And now we know we were suckers…
Now we know the politicians lied to us.
This was never about saving the healthcare system from crashing, because we have saved the system from crashing, and most of us are still in these goddamned lockdowns.
They lied.
Not all the politicians lied. But most of the politicians lied, most especially Democrat governors….
My Democrat governor, Roy Cooper, just canceled school for the rest of the year and extended our ludicrous, pointless, statewide, one-size-fits-all lockdown to May 8.
Why?
Among others, all of California and all of Michigan and all of Wisconsin are locked down through the end of May.
Why?
There is no threat the healthcare system’s going to crash in any of those states. You might be able to convince me there’s a small risk in some urban areas — in Detroit or Los Angeles or Milwaukee, but 95 percent of those states are completely out of the woods.
My North Carolina county is out of the woods…
We had nine cases here and no deaths.
Nine cases.
Zero deaths.
We’re still locked down, even though there’s a full-blown medical center in my county.
In my five county area we’ve had fewer than 100 cases and one death. Each of those counties has a hospital. There is no chance these health systems will crash. None. So why are we still locked down?
Even in our most densely populated area, Charlotte, there have been only 1651 cases and 49 deaths.
The curve here in North Carolina, and the curve in 95 percent of the country is not just bent, it’s crushed, decimated, destroyed — and let’s now take this opportunity to go ahead and say the following out loud: in much of the country there was never any real danger of overwhelming the health care system.
The experts were wrong.
But that’s okay.
It happens.
A woman jogs past a barricade outside a park in Salem, Ore. Oregon is in its fourth week of lockdown. Oregonians can’t enter state parks in mountains and in valleys now blooming with springtime flowers, or go to the state’s trademark wineries and microbreweries. But Oregon appears to be an outlier as coronavirus cases start to peak in each state. Of all the states in America, Oregon should have the fewest COVID-19 deaths per capita when the peak comes here, according to researchers at the University of Washington who developed a closely watched model. (AP Photo/Andrew Selsky)
We planned for the worst and the worst didn’t happen… That’s a good thing. But why in the name of God’s creation are lockdowns being extended where there is no risk of the system being overwhelmed?
You told us we had to ravage our economy in order to bend the curve. Okay, the curve is bent; can we go now? No, because now you’re moving the goalposts. Now you’re spreading an all new pile of bullshit with this bullshit about saving lives and it still not being safe to go out.
Well, riddle me this Govs. Newsom, Cooper, Whitmer, and Evers…
When there is zero risk the health care system will crash, and when there is no vaccine or cure, why is it safer to reopen in two or three weeks or a month, as opposed to right now?
With no vaccine or cure, what’s going to change to make things safer between today and May 8 or May 31?
Don’t tell me it’s that we’re waiting for warmer weather. First off, no one has said that’s why the lockdowns have been extended. Secondly, Dr. Fauci has already said “You must assume that the virus will continue to do its thing” when the weather gets warm — and I believe him.
Besides, we’re also being told the virus could roar back in the fall, which should only add to the urgency to free us today. Before we might have to hole up again, let us get back to normal for as long as possible, let us make as much money as possible.
Whether you reopen your state on May 1 or May 31, this incurable disease will still be out there waiting… Which means it will be just as risky to reopen on May 31 as it is today — so why wait?
What is the benefit of waiting when waiting doesn’t make it any safer?
What had been a national effort to save lives, a noble effort of national unity, has been twisted by Democrat governors into something unnecessarily punitive that reeks of a partisan power play to destroy President Trump’s re-election chances. Give me a better explanation. Because this is the bottom line…
Unless you’re willing to wait for a cure — that might never come, by the way — when there is no risk the health care system’s going to crash, what is the point of waiting one more day to open up when waiting doesn’t make us any safer?
This is madness.
You lied to us.
You’re all liars.
P.S. To those Americans who believe the lockdowns should continue — feel free to continue your quarantine. No one’s talking about forcing anyone to leave quarantine. No one’s going to force you to go to the beach or the mall. Stay home.

A call by former President George W. Bush for humanity to jettison partisanship amid the Chinese coronavirus pandemic has drawn a sharp rebuke from President Donald Trump.
Bush published a video message on Saturday urging unity and togetherness amid the coronavirus’ outbreak, which received 4.4 million views on Twitter as of Sunday morning.
Bush’s plea amounted to a call for people to ignore partisanship to protect the most vulnerable and to assist those who have become unemployed.
He based his plaintive call on the observation we are all God’s children and therefore equal of merit and support.
“[L]et us remember how small our differences are in the face of this shared threat,” Bush said. “In the final analysis we are not partisan combatants, we are human beings equally vulnerable and equally wonderful in the sight of God. We rise or fall together, and we are determined to rise.”
The president’s response was straight to the point, outlining Bush’s absence when Trump was being excoriated during his impeachment proceedings.
“.@PeteHegseth “Oh bye the way, I appreciate the message from former President Bush, but where was he during Impeachment calling for putting partisanship aside. @foxandfriends He was nowhere to be found in speaking up against the greatest Hoax in American history!” Trump tweeted.

At least 17 people were shot, three fatally, from Friday afternoon into Saturday night in gun-controlled Chicago.
NBC 5 reports the first fatal shooting occurred about 3 p.m. Friday, when a male was shot multiple times and killed in the 5200 block of South Homan. Both NBC 5 and the Chicago Sun-Timesreported no one was in custody for the shooting.
The second fatal shooting in the 36-hour time frame took place around 11:45 p.m Friday and the third around 2:40 a.m. Saturday. The third fatality was the outgrowth of a “verbal altercation,” which resulted in a gun being drawn and a 30-year-old man being shot in the chest.
As for the non-fatal shootings, least three of the Chicago shooting victims were women. In one instance “in the 1800 block of North Sawyer, a 36-year-old woman was driving in her vehicle when a gray sedan pulled up next to her and an unknown male offender inside fired shots.”
She was wounded but able to drive herself to the hospital for treatment.
On April 19, 2020, Breitbart News reported 14 people were shot in gun-controlled Chicago in just over 24 hours.
On April 27, 2020, the Chicago Tribunereported the number of homicides in Chicago had already hit 713, which was 79 more homicides than were witnessed by that same time in 2019.

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, a distinguished public servant, was briefly national security advisor to President Trump until allegations surfaced in the Washington Post that he had been in communication with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak.
I‘ve written much about the extreme dangers of a COVID vaccine. Here I want to present simple basic facts, which apply to all vaccines and all recipients.
Public health agencies readily admit that people with weakened immune systems should not be vaccinated.
In the middle of ABC’s coronavirus coverage, during Sunday’s Good Morning America, the network admitted what many people had already figured out, that communist China had covered up the emergence and spread of the virus. But Sunday’s report came with the backup of a “blistering” U.S. intelligence assessment, as reported by correspondent Rachel Scott.
Imagination is as natural and real as breathing. People who don’t know this or forget it come up against a brick wall.
Some of them then go to booze and drugs, some to violence, some to despair, some to the straitjacket of a severely repetitive mechanical life, some to the dull, dull ground of passivity.
Life is not a machine. Humans are not machines, although they often play one day after day.
Several states reopened last week.
Severl more will open at least partially this week from the Fauci lockdown.
But Democrat-led Oregon is not one of them.
Oregon, a state with 4.14 million residents, did not reopen on Friday.
In fact, the liberal state is not reopening anytime soon.
