Kamala Harris Brings Extreme Gun Control Position to Biden Ticket

Democrat presidential hopeful and gun control proponent Joe Biden has officially chosen extreme gun controller Kamala Harris to be his running mate.

On July 14, 2019, Breitbart News reported presidential hopeful Harris’s pledge to go around Congress to secure gun control via executive action, if Congress refused to support her gun control agenda.

On September 7, 2019, Breitbart News reported Harris’s support for government-mandated buybacks of AR-15 rifles. Bloomberg reported that Harris had not worked out all the details on how the buyback would work, but she said, “I think it’s a good idea.”

Her support of a mandatory buyback came weeks after then presidential hopeful Robert “Beto” O’Rourke pushed for “a mandatory buyback of every assault weapon in our country.”

Harris is on record voicing support for universal background checks and prohibiting rifle purchases for 18-20-year-olds. And as California Attorney General she fought to preserve the “good cause” requirement, which means law-abiding citizens without a criminal record were still barred from getting a California concealed carry permit unless they could prove why they needed to carry a gun.

Harris also opposed allowing teachers to be armed for classroom defense. Breitbart News reported Harris’s April 13, 2019, tweet in which she stated, “We need to give teachers a raise — not guns” Yet two days earlier she admitted that she owns a gun to keep herself safe.

On April 11, 2019, the Associated Press reported that Harris told reporters in Iowa, “I own a gun for probably the reason that a lot of people do: for personal safety.”

All these gun controls, and more, dovetail well with Joe Biden’s myriad gun control positions and his promise to come after gun companies if he gets elected.

On February 24, 2020, Breitbart News reported Biden used a speech in South Carolina to warn gun manufacturers, “I’m going to take you down.”

He made clear that one of the first things he will do as president is to remove Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act protections, which were put in place to shield gun makers from frivolous lawsuits.

Biden said “it was a “mistake” to give “gun manufacturers … a loophole that does not allow them to be sued for the carnage they are creating.”

During a November 6, 2019, CNN interview, Biden answered in the affirmative when asked if he was coming for guns. CNN’s Anderson Cooper said, “So, to gun owners out there who say, well, a Biden administration means they’re going to come for my guns?”

Biden replied, “Bingo. You’re right if you have an assault weapon. The fact of the matter is, they should be illegal, period.

Pennsylvania Dem Illegally Used Funds to Boost Congressional Bid, Complaint Says

Pennsylvania Democrat Eugene DePasquale illegally used more than $130,000 to jump-start his congressional bid, according to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission.

DePasquale, the state’s auditor general, used donations to his state campaign coffers to launch his bid against Rep. Scott Perry (R., Pa.). In March, the Democrat began running Facebook ads that touted his tenure in state government and asked voters for email addresses and other personal information. Many of the ads specifically targeted the city of Harrisburg, which is located in Perry’s district and routinely votes to elect Democrats.

In addition to the ads, DePasquale used his state campaign account to disburse more than $110,000 to Democratic campaign firms from March to May 2019. The Democrat paid Rising Tide Interactive more than $12,000 as a "retainer," despite being term-limited out of his state office. DePasquale also sent $8,000 to Think Big Campaigns for "website" purposes. His state campaign website was shut down in early March 2019.

DePasquale went on to formally announce his campaign against Perry in June 2019. Nearly one week later, he unveiled a campaign ad made by Jackson Group Media, a consulting firm that received $11,000 from DePasquale’s state campaign account in May 2019. The Democrat had not previously used Rising Tide Interactive, Think Big Campaigns, or Jackson Group Media as vendors on his state campaign. His congressional campaign, however, has paid the firms more than $77,000 since the 2019 launch.

DePasquale’s alleged campaign finance violations were first raised by Democratic primary opponent Tom Brier, who accused DePasquale of "flouting the rules" in April. After Brier failed to notarize an FEC complaint detailing the potential wrongdoings, the allegations were picked up by the conservative watchdog group Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT).

"Federal law clearly prohibits candidates from using state campaign funds for a federal campaign," FACT executive director Kendra Arnold said in a statement. "Not only does this merit immediate investigation, this is a serious offense."

DePasquale did not respond to a request for comment about his alleged violations. The campaign dismissed the allegations in April, telling the York Dispatch that DePasquale’s state campaign payments came "before he announced his candidacy" and that they "had nothing to do with his congressional campaign." Federal candidates are allowed to spend money in order to "test the waters" before officially launching a campaign, but they must use funds that are subject to federal regulations. While individuals cannot give more than $2,800 per election to federal candidates, Pennsylvania has no political contribution limits for individuals, meaning DePasquale could not use state campaign funds to "test the waters."

A DePasquale campaign spokesman attacked the watchdog group as a "partisan organization" in a statement to the York Dispatch on Monday, but declined to answer questions about the substance of the allegations. Arnold said the campaign is dodging in the hopes that media and voters will ignore the issue.

"The thing that alerts me is that there’s no defense to the spending," she told the Washington Free Beacon. "We’d like a response as to why [DePasquale] was paying for a state campaign website when he did not have an active state campaign website. It’s important that they respond to the facts of the complaint."

DePasquale won his primary against Brier in June, receiving 57.5 percent of the vote to Brier’s 42.5 percent. He will now face Perry in November. The Republican has a slight fundraising advantage, having raised nearly $1.9 million as of June 30. DePasquale, meanwhile, has raised $1.6 million. Perry’s seat is seen as a prime pickup opportunity for national Democrats—the nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates the race a "toss up."

The New York Times IS LYING to You: Calls Harris a ‘Pragmatic Moderate’

Kamala Harris is the most liberal vice presidential nominee to ever be nominated. Her lifetime American Conservative Union Score (meaning the number of times she voted with conservatives as a Senator) is 3.03. In 2019 it was 0. Yet, The New York Times tweeted this demonstrably false claim:

Here’s the text: “Breaking News: Sen. Kamala Harris of California is Joe Biden’s pick for vice president. A pragmatic moderate, she is the first Black woman on a major party ticket.”
Pragmatic moderate? On what? She’s rabidly pro-abortion, anti-Second Amendment, supports the Green New Deal, supports Medicare for all. Yet the Times article in question, written by Alexander Burns and Katie Glueck, contained the same falsehood:
A pragmatic moderate who spent most of her career as a prosecutor, Ms. Harris was seen throughout the vice-presidential search as among the safest choices available to Mr. Biden. The Times writers gushed that she brings “a gift for capturing moments of raw political electricity on the debate stage and elsewhere, and a personal identity and family story that many find inspiring.”
In an incoherent attempt to boost the absurd claim Harris is a moderate, Burns and Glueck claimed:
While she endorsed a number of left-wing policy proposals during her presidential bid, Ms. Harris also showed a distinctly Biden-like impatience with what she characterized as the grand but impractical governing designs of some in her party.
“Policy has to be relevant,” Ms. Harris said last summer in an interview with The New York Times. “That’s my guiding principle: Is it relevant? Not, ‘Is it a beautiful sonnet?’”
Apparently not being a full-on Bernie Sanders socialist is the new definition of “moderate” at The New York Times. Contact the paper at @nytimes to let them know what you think.

REPORT: Chicago Prosecutor Dismissed Thousands Of Felony Cases Including Gun Crimes Cases

Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx pledged Monday to bring the dozens of looters and rioters who did a reported $60 million in damages Sunday night to justice, but a new report from the Chicago Tribune calls into question Foxx’s commitment to seeing certain felony cases through.

According to the Tribune, Foxx’s office has dismissed “thousands” of felony cases, including gun cases, sex assault cases, attacks on police officers, and even homicides. In all, “25,183 people had their felony cases dismissed” per the Trib.

“[T]he Tribune found that Foxx’s higher rates of dropped cases included people accused of murder, shooting another person, sex crimes, and attacks on police officers — as well as serious drug offenses that for decades have driven much of Chicago’s street violence,” the outlet said.

“For the three-year period analyzed, Foxx’s office dropped 8.1% of homicide cases … Under Foxx, the office dropped 9.5% of felony sex crime cases,” the Tribe notes. “Foxx’s office also increased the rate of dropped cases for aggravated battery and for aggravated battery with a firearm. And under Foxx, the percentage of cases dropped for defendants accused of aggravated battery of a police officer more than doubled, from 3.9% to 8.1%.”

The dropped cases, of course, include that of Jussie Smollett, who inked an unofficial “plea deal” with Foxx’s office just weeks after being charged with seventeen counts of lying to police investigators, stemming from Smollett’s claim that he was the target of a racist and homophobic attack in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood in January of 2019.

A special prosecutor recently reinstated several of those counts and an investigation into Foxx’s office — and into why the city prosecutor suddenly reversed her decision on Smollett’s case — is ongoing. Smollett was supposed to return to court in May, but that date has been postponed over concerns about coronavirus.

The dropped cases also include gun cases, many of which are arrests stemming from enforcement of Chicago’s strict gun control laws.

Foxx was elected as a “criminal justice reform” candidate, one of a handful of state’s attorney candidates nationwide to receive millions from George Soros, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, as part of a program to encourage and, ultimately, install state and city attorneys that espouse progressive ideals.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown alluded to Foxx’s record of dropping cases against looters, like the ones that ravaged Chicago’s “Magnificent Mile” shopping district Sunday night, in a press conference held Monday.

“Not many of those [looting cases from May] were prosecuted to the full extent,” Brown said. “These looters, these thieves, these criminals being emboldened by consequences…emboldened to do more. These criminals were emboldened by no consequences in the criminal system.”

Chicago’s mayor Lori Lightfoot quickly intervened and cut off the line of questioning before Brown could go further.

Foxx denied that her office’s lax prosecutorial record was to blame for Sunday’s looting, telling a press conference that, “The notion that people believe that they are somehow empowered because people were not prosecuted is simply not true.”

Many of those cases are still pending and will come to court in August, Foxx claimed.

‘Vindictive Punishment’: Texas Parents Fight To Be Removed From Child Abuse Registry After Judge Dismisses CPS Case Against Them

A Texas family is fighting to be removed from the Child Abuse Registry even after a judge dismissed a case from Child Protective Services (CPS) alleging that they had medically abused their young son.

Legal counsel for Ashley and Daniel Pardo of Kaufman County, Texas, sent a letter late last month to Texas Department of Family Protective Services Commissioner Jaime Masters, urging her to remove them from the registry. The letter was endorsed by 26 signatories, including organizations and lawmakers.

A copy of the letter, written by Texas Home School Coalition (THSC) President Tim Lambert and provided to The Daily Wire, read in part:

Even though CPS dropped all accusations against the Pardo family and dismissed the case, CPS has placed the Pardo family on the Child Abuse Registry.

As you know, being on the registry stays on a family’s record, shows up on background checks, and can prevent the family from obtaining employment or even volunteering at their child’s school or church activities.

Being on the Child Abuse Registry also carries a naturally damaging cultural stigma because, as the average Texan would reasonably presume, such a registry is home to individuals who commit horrible crimes against their children, such as starving, beating, torturing, or killing them.

The fact that an entirely innocent family against whom CPS dropped all charges could be placed on such a registry and have their lives and professional futures forever marred by this stigma shocks even the most rudimentary sense of justice.

A recent article from THSC explaining the latest wrinkle in the case alleges that the Pardos’ placement on the registry was an act of “vindictive punishment,” after both the Texas Supreme Court and county judge found the CPS case against them lacking.

In December 2019, the Pardos reached the end of a long legal battle fraught with red tape when Judge Tracy Gray signed a dismissal agreement between them and CPS. The agreement came after the Texas Supreme Court ordered the Pardo’s 4-year-old son, Drake, to be reunited with family in October, who had first been taken away from them on June 20, 2019.

According to The Texan, which followed the complex case closely, the Pardos were alleged to be engaging in medical child abuse or Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, which “occurs when caretakers exaggerate or contrive medical conditions of the child under his or her care.” Drake, who has suffered from developmental issues, also struggled with feeding problems.

As The Texan reported:

They were told one potential solution was a G-tube, a surgically placed feeding tube.

During their consideration of the surgery, Drake’s doctor allegedly refused to visit him while he was in the hospital. After his refusal, the Pardos fired him and chose to see another doctor in the same hospital.

The doctor who was fired brought a concern to the hospital’s child abuse pediatrician that the Pardos were doctor-shopping to find someone who would approve of the G-tube surgery.

Subsequently, the child abuse pediatrician brought the complaints to CPS and said that she wanted Drake to be admitted to the hospital on Monday, June 10 to be evaluated so that they could determine if the parents were seeking unnecessary help or not.

Jeremy Newman, director of public policy for THSC, referenced court testimony to explain to The Daily Wire how the Pardos were never informed about the scheduled meeting with CPS, which he said first led to their problems.

“CPS used their failure to attend that meeting, which they didn’t know about, as a justification for declaring an emergency and running in and taking the child from the home,” Newman said. “So, if I can insert my perception, it seems to me that the place it went wrong was that nobody involved in the case ever spoke to any of the doctors who had actually treated Drake at the time that all of this happened. They kind of came in and did a theoretical assessment and never spoke to the family, never spoke to any of the doctors.”

Explaining how, according to court testimony, the doctor who originally notified CPS did not intend for Drake to be removed from his family, Newman speculated that what began as government incompetence snowballed. “It seems to me like it’s a face-saving issue; that by the time they realized they’d made a big mistake, they couldn’t reverse course without admitting liability.”

The Texas Department of Family Protective Services did not respond to The Daily Wire’s request for comment in time for publication.

In a video with the Pardos that he posted to Facebook immediately after their initial case was dismissed in December, Newman said, “This is the end of the Pardo case, officially. But it’s not the end of it for the families.” Noting that the CPS bureaucracy gets to walk away from such legal battles relatively unscathed, he said, “For the families in these situations, the trauma and the effect of that lasts. I know that Ashley and Daniel would tell you that, and every family that I’ve ever talked to would tell you that.”

“And so, as much as we’re celebrating the victory, you also have to kind of stop and pause and consider the cost, and realize that the team of advocates and the whole state kind of responded to support Ashley and Daniel in this. Not every family has that. You kind of have to wonder, ‘What about all the families you never hear from? The families whose stories don’t make the news?’ You don’t hear from them and you kind of have to wonder: ‘Do they just get eaten by the system?’”

The Pardo case is not an isolated one, according to a series of in-depth investigative reports done by NBC and The Houston Chronicle in 2019. Reporters spent nine months looking into 40 cases that explored how the “legal and medical system that sometimes struggles to differentiate accidental injuries from abuse.”

One report concluded, “Physicians intent on protecting the most vulnerable in some instances have overstated the reliability of their findings, using terms such as ‘100 percent’ and ‘certain’ to describe conclusions that usually cannot be proven with absolute confidence. Child welfare workers, overworked and untrained in complex medical issues, are not always sure how to proceed when the primary evidence against a caregiver comes in the form of a doctor’s note.”

Facts Feared by Leftist Media: Kamala Harris Is Not a ‘Moderate’

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden finally announced that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) will join him on the campaign trail as his running mate in the 2020 election. In addition to fawning for the “historic” nature of the pick Tuesday, the liberal media were all hands on deck to protect her from criticism. A key part of their strategy was to gaslight the public and falsely claim she was a “moderate.” But doing town halls with CNN came back to bite her, as her radical policy positions were exposed.
Below is a breakdown of what Harris has publically voiced as her positions on various issues during CNN town halls on January 28 and April 22 of 2019.

Medicare for All
“I believe the solution — and I actually feel very strongly about this — is that we need to have Medicare for all. That’s just the bottom line.” (January 28)
“Well, I support Medicare for all. And I support it for a number of reasons. That include the fact that there are a lot of people in our country who simply do not have access to health care because they cannot afford it and that’s unconscionable. And I actually believe it’s a moral issue and it is a sign of whether or not we are going to be a civil society.” (April 22)

Eliminating Private Health Insurance
JAKE TAPPER: Correct me if I’m wrong. To reiterate, you support the Medicare for all bill, initially co-sponsored by Senator Bernie Sanders. You’re also a co-sponsor on it. I believe it will totally eliminate private insurance. So, for people out there who like their insurance, they don’t get to keep it?
HARRIS: Well, listen, the idea is that everyone gets access to medical care, and you don’t have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through the paperwork, all of the delay that may require. Who of us has not had that situation where you’ve got to wait for approval, and the doctor says, ‘well, I don’t know if your insurance company is going to cover this.’ Let’s eliminate all of that. Let’s move on. (January 28)

Green New Deal
“I support a green new deal, and I will tell you why. Climate change is an existential threat to us, and we have got to deal with the reality of it. We have got to deal with the reality of the fact that there are people trying to peddle some idea that we should deny it, and they’re peddling science fiction instead of what we should do, which is rely on science fact.” (January 28)
“I support it because I, to my core, know that the climate crisis is representing an existential threat to who we are as human beings. We have supposed leaders pushing science fiction instead of science fact and this is to our collective peril, if we don’t take this matter seriously with a sense of you are urgency. Why I support the green new deal is because it does that. It puts time lines into effect.” (April 22)

Anti-Gun
“Here’s the thing. We have got to have smart gun safety laws in this country, and we’ve got to stop buying this false choice. You can be in favor of the Second Amendment and also understand that there is no reason in a civil society that we have assault weapons around communities that can kill babies and police officers.” (January 28)
“Upon being elected, I will give the United States Congress 100 days to get their act together and have the courage to pass reasonable gun safety laws. And if they fail to do it, then I will take executive action.” (April 22)

Boston Bomber Should Vote
DON LEMON: But people who are in — convicted, in prison, like the Boston marathon bomber, on death row, people who are convicted of sexual assault, they should be able to vote?
HARRIS: I think we should have that conversation. (April 22)

Lowering the Voting Age
RACHEL DAMLE (Harvard University student): Do you think Americans have a right to vote at age 16?
HARRIS: I’m really interested in having that conversation. I have to tell you that. (…) And I believe if they had greater political power, maybe we would get our act together. (April 22)

So, the liberal media will flood the zone with lies about who Harris was and what she has supported in the past in order to protect their 2020 presidential ticket. But these are the facts straight from her own mouth.
