Twitter, Facebook Censored Trump, Campaign 65 Times, Leave Biden Untouched

Big Tech has caused serious damage to President Donald Trump’s ability to be heard on social media.
Twitter and Facebook have censored the president’s social media accounts and the accounts belonging to his re-election campaign at least 65 times. In contrast, the companies have not censored former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his campaign accounts. At all.
Twitter composes the bulk of the problem, with 98 percent of all the instances of censorship. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Twitter has made the decision to censor major headlines about the Biden family, particularly when it came to the New York Post’s story about Hunter Biden’s dealings with Ukraine.
The Media Research Center’s Techwatch department analyzed two years of social media posts from Trump, Biden, and their respective campaigns. The analysis did not include any ads from PACs or super PACs that had made ads in favor of either candidate. It also focused on social media posts, not paid advertisements, from the campaigns. These numbers were collected from between May 2018 to October 16, 2020. In addition, Twitter and Facebook employees have funneled money into Democrat campaigns. In a previous study released by MRC Business, the numbers showed that Facebook and Twitter had given over 90 percent of their political contributions to Democrats in 2020.
Twitter
Twitter has been far and away the biggest offender, labeling, fact-checking, and removing Trump’s tweets and the tweets from his campaign accounts 64 times since the president’s election. Tweets about the president’s concern over mail-in voting, COVID-19, and the Black Lives Matter protests have been given “public interest notices.”
Videos retweeted by the president depicting a satirical version of Biden walking on stage to the song “F*** Tha Police” have been deleted as well, after a fact-check from Poynter Institute’s PolitiFact. The actual video showed Biden playing the song "Despacito.”
Twitter fired first in the war between Trump and Big Tech when it completely deleted three tweets from the president on July 28, 2020. It removed tweets about the drug hydroxychloroquine.
Memes apparently are not allowed on the president’s account either. A meme showing Trump saying “in reality, they’re not after me. They’re after you” was removed from his June 30 tweet. Meme videos and meme creators who make pro-Trump content have suffered at the hands of Twitter. One instance is Carpe Donktum, the meme creator who made a video mocking the Democrats’ reaction to the 2019 State of the Union address. The video, retweeted by Trump, was removed after a copyright complaint. Donktum, whose real name is Logan Cook, was also removed in June 2020 after Trump had tweeted another one of his videos showing two toddlers hugging each other, with fake CNN chyrons at the bottom.
This censorship goes back as far as the beginning of the Trump presidency. A rogue Twitter employee in 2017 deactivated Trump’s account on his last day at work, leaving it offline for 11 minutes. Trump’s two tweets of Drudge headlines in 2018 were given the “sensitive content” filter over top of the tweets.
Users who have been retweeted by Trump play a game of censorship roulette as well. According to the Daily Beast, “Nearly 10 percent of the unverified accounts retweeted by President Trump since his inauguration are currently suspended from Twitter for various violations of the platform’s policies.” One user was quoted in the Daily Beast as saying, “Twitter’s always been fair to me, until the president of the United States retweeted me.” Seventeen accounts at least have been suspended since Trump’s inauguration.
The Trump campaign’s accounts have also been struck by censorship on Twitter. Team Trump has had four videos removed, including one that talked about pro-life policies. In addition, the Trump campaign was also suspended for sharing the controversial Hunter Biden emails story from the New York Post.
Facebook
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a speech given at Georgetown University on Oct. 17, 2019 that Facebook would “continue to stand for free expression.” But since then, Trump and the Trump campaign have been censored on the platform five times. Instagram, Facebook’s sister company, removed one video as well. Each time, the platform has made the statement that it opposes whatever Trump and the campaign have said or stood for.
A video attacking Antifa was removed from the platform, because it violated the platform’s “organized hate policy” for featuring an upside-down red triangle. The ad asked supporters “to sign a petition and "stand with your President and his decision to declare ANTIFA a Terrorist Organization.” The ad was removed from both the president’s page and his campaign’s page. However, multiple violent Antifa pages that have doxxed members of the Senate remain on the platform, unscathed.
Facebook fact-checkers, certified by the liberal Poynter Institute’s Independent Fact-Checking Network, also fact-checked a video that showed Biden saying, “We cannot win this re-election. Excuse me, we can only re-elect Donald Trump.” The video was labeled “partially false” and given an interstitial, or a filter, that suppressed the spread of the content on the platform.

Thug beats cop’s face bloody in brutal attack livestreamed on Facebook. Of course, it features laughing onlookers egging on suspect.

A North Carolina police officer was airlifted to a hospital early Saturday morning after he was beaten while trying to make an arrest — and the attack was livestreamed on Facebook, left his face bloody, and featured laughing onlookers.

What are the details?

Rowland Officer Michael Sale, 27, responded to a disturbance call and was beaten while trying to arrest a man, Chief Hubert B. Graham told WPDE-TV.

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @KittyLists

A bystander recorded the attack on cellphone, and it went live on Facebook, the station said, adding that the video gained dozens of shares. The video lasted 11 minutes, WPDE reported in an earlier story.

The station said the officer asked a man for assistance, but the man refused. Several people came outside, and some urged others to help, WPDE noted. The officer was repeatedly punched in the face.

The clip does show one man pulling the attacker away from the officer, but another man is heard saying, "Let ’em whup his ass! Let ’em whup his ass!"

After the man lets go, the beating continues. "Don’t you let that man take you to f***in’ jail!" the same man is heard saying to the attacker.

The following are several clips of the attack. (Content warning: Language):

What happened after help arrived?

Graham told WPDE that there was concern Officer Sale broke a bone around his eye, so he was airlifted to a hospital. He has since been discharged and is recovering at home with his family, the station said in a follow-up story.

Authorities charged Jamel Alphonso Rogers with assault with a deadly weapon with intentions to kill while inflicting serious injuries, kidnapping, and two counts of resisting a public officer, the station said.

Rogers appeared before a judge Monday and his bond was set at $500,000, WPDE said, adding that he’s being held at Robeson County Detention Center and that it’s unlikely Rogers will make bond.

Graham said Sale was the only officer on duty Friday night, the station said, which is why it took some time for backup to arrive.

"He was working by himself that night," the chief said in a separate story. "That is being worked on."

Graham also told WPDE he wishes others had stepped up to help "because they knew the situation the officer was in."

Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins shared his thoughts about the attack on Facebook:

Officer Sale was surrounded by a crowd outside a store last December when he worked for the Maxton Police Department and was violently beaten by one man in the crowd, the station said. As with this weekend’s attack, the incident last year was recorded on cellphone and shared on social media, WPDE said.

Kristi Noem On Hunter Biden Revelations: ‘Grave Damage To Joe Biden’s Credibility.’ On Coney Barrett: ‘She Made Some Of Those Senators Look Like Clowns’

Speaking with Fox News from New Hampshire, where she is campaigning for President Trump and keynoted a major fundraiser for the state’s Republican Party, blunt-spoken South Dakota GOP governor Kristi Noem pulled no punches when asked how the revelations about Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, could affect the way women vote in the presidential election. Noem replied:

I’m going to tell you what: women overwhelmingly want somebody leading the country that they can trust and this really does grave damage to Joe Biden’s credibility. This is the kind of corruption in power that we don’t want in our leaders and I’m glad that it’s being talked about and we should continue to dig into it and get the full truth. The American people deserve to hear the truth.

She made a point of stating “how important it is that we have President Trump in the White House. If Joe Biden is in the White House, our way of life will be devastated. I honestly believe the policies that he’s embraced will destroy America. So for me that’s important enough to come here and talk face to face with people who may have the chance to turn this state red and take it for President Trump.”

When asked how President Trump should handle the upcoming debate with Biden, Noem answered, “I would just encourage him to let his love for the American people to shine through. This is a huge opportunity for him to really talk about what he’s delivered for the country these four years and why he gets up everyday and he fights for the everyday ordinary man. He committed to doing so many things that he actually followed through on that this is his chance to tell the American people about what he did and the fact that he did it for them.”

Noem said of Judge Amy Barrett’s performance during the Senate committee’s confirmation hearings on her nomination to the Supreme Court, “I think she was fantastic and I think she made some of those senators look like clowns, honestly. She’s highly intelligent, very qualified for the position, and I think the political attacks they attempted during the committee process just failed.”

Noem’s blunt, honest style has endeared her to GOP voters; in late September, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow cited coronavirus statistics to attack Noem after Noem had tweeted a picture of herself shooting, captioned, “This is how we do social distancing in South Dakota.” Maddow, quoting the Argus-Leader, tried attacking Noem, tweeting, “South Dakota has just set new records in the number of people hospitalized, new cases, and overall active cases. With a 36% spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the last week, the state now has the highest per-capita rate of hospitalizations in the US.”

Noem fired back, “Stop spreading fear. Only 8% of South Dakota’s hospital beds are occupied by COVID patients. We have and will continue to manage our resources to care for the people who need help. The people of South Dakota have accomplished this WITHOUT draconian lockdowns. #FactsNotFear.”

Pollak: Why a Biden Win Would Bring More Disorder, Not Less

Vice President Joe Biden recently asked: “Does anyone believe there will be less violence in America if Donald Trump is reelected?” Biden has tried to argue that Trump is the source of unrest in the country, though almost all of the violence the country has endured over the last several months has come from the left.

Democrats have claimed Trump supporters will riot if the president loses, though in reality it is the Democrats who are threatening to riot, or even to secede, if the race is close.

But there are five reasons to believe a Biden win would bring more disorder. Three have to do with Biden, and two with Trump.

First, if Democrats win after supporting a movement responsible for thousands of disruptive protests — and riots in 48 out of the 50 biggest U.S. cities — they will legitimize the use of political violence.

If they win, they will riot again, and the “cancel culture” will keep spreading in every sphere of American life. But if they lose, Democrats may re-think their tactics.

Second, Biden is promising to be one of the most “progressive” (i.e. left-wing) presidents in U.S. history. His platform, the so-called “Biden-Sanders Unity” manifesto, is the most left-wing platform of any major presidential campaign, save for the Socialist Party a century ago. Biden is promising massive tax hikes, radical changes to the energy industry, dramatic changes to Medicare, and “revolutionary institutional changes” to American culture in general.

In other words: Biden = disruption.

Third, a Biden win will set off a pitched internal battle within the Democratic Party, as factions struggle to exert dominance over a low-energy, aging president.

CBS News reported Friday that the left wing of the party is already making demands about who should staff a Biden-Harris administration, calling it a sign “of the Democratic Party fight to come.” There will be internal fights, too, if Biden loses, but those fights would take place within the party — not within the government itself.

Fourth, if Trump wins, he will have won a mandate to crack down on left-wing violence. FBI director Christopher Wray, who apparently cannot see Antifa is a threat, would likely be replaced. Trump could shut down violence in places like Portland by invoking the Insurrection Act, if necessary. Most likely, he would not have to do so: the election results themselves would undermine the rioters’ claims to political legitimacy, especially if Trump wins places like Minnesota.

Fifth — and perhaps most important: if Trump wins, he is guaranteed to leave office in 2025. The day he is inaugurated, he will become yesterday’s problem.

Democrats will continue to demonize Trump — perhaps for decades — but if they lose now, they will have to focus on 2024, rather than on political retribution, at least for now.

There is even the possibility, if Republicans win enough seats in Congress, that Nancy Pelosi will be ousted as Speaker, creating new opportunities for compromise.

Kirstie Alley says she will vote for Trump, leftists respond with tsunami of hate: ‘You are now dead to me’

Actress Kirstie Alley, known for her roles in "Star Trek" and "Cheers," revealed Saturday that she will vote for President Donald Trump next month. She was hit with a tsunami of hate in response.

Alley has become increasingly outspoken about politics in recent weeks. Last month, she criticized new "inclusion" requirements for Best Picture contenders at the Oscars. And earlier this month, the actress slammed a CNN reporter in a viral tweet, and called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "evil" just a few days later.

What did Alley say now?

She announced that she will vote for Trump — just as she did in 2016 — because she approves of his job performance.

"I’m voting for @realDonaldTrump because he’s NOT a politician. I voted for him 4 years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason," she said.

Alley added, "He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly. There you have it folks there you have it."

— Kirstie Alley (@Kirstie Alley)1602976226.0

Alley’s admission on Saturday was the first time that she revealed that she did, in fact, vote for Trump in 2016.

Alley had initially voiced support for Trump during the Republican primary, but dropped her endorsement when the infamous Hollywood Reporter tape surfaced weeks before the election.

What was the response?

As of Sunday afternoon, Alley’s tweet had received more than 87,000 responses. She was widely criticized, and many detractors invoked her membership in Scientology to mock her.

  • "Shelly Long was way funnier than you," Hollywood director Judd Apatow said.
  • "Well my vote for Biden canceled yours out. I have done my civic duty of the day," actress Patricia Arquette said.
  • "So you belong to two cults. Gotcha," one response said.
  • "Imagine if joining scientology wasn’t even your biggest mistake," another response said.
  • "She’s part of two cults– Scientology and Cult 45. There’s no hope for her," another response said.
  • "You are now dead to me," actress Marina Sirtis said.
  • "We already knew you were a cultist… but it’s definitely weird you’re a member of two cults.Isn’t there like a cult honor code or something?" another person responded.
  • "I am hiring my friend because he’s NOT an electrician! I hired him 4 years ago for this reason and he wired up the house quick! And now, 4 years later after it burned down (fake news said it was an electric fire) I am going to hire him again!" one person mocked.
  • "Oooh the highly sought after Scientologist Kirstie Alley vote! Almost as lucrative as the Taliban endorsement," another person mocked.
  • "So you’re proudly proclaiming your support for the racist, sexist, xenophobic, science-denying, constitution-subverting, corrupt, impeached, tool of hostile foreign governments, who has presided over the death of more than 217,000 dead Americans. Good to know. Psycho," another person said.
  • "I’m voting for Biden because i have a brain," Joe Lockhart, who worked in Bill Clinton’s White House, said.

But not everyone was angry. In fact, thousands of people shared their support for Alley’s decision.

"Your bravery is appreciated," Kimberly Klacik, a Republican U.S. House candidate from Maryland, said.

Think Tank Funded by U.S. And Foreign Governments Calls for Suppression of Breitbart, Fox, Conservative Media

The German Marshall Fund (GMF), an influential globalist think tank founded by the state of Germany to promote deeper ties between America and Europe — and funded in part by the U.S. government — has branded Breitbart News, Fox News, the Blaze, and the Federalist as “deceptive” news outlets, urging social media platforms to suppress their engagement.

The GMF, which claims to be a “non-partisan” organization, relies on the opinions of NewsGuard, an unaccountable Microsoft-linked establishment project that purports to “rate” the validity of news sites.

The report divides so-called “deceptive” news outlets into two tiers. “Manipulators,” that the GMF accuses of manipulating facts, and “false content producers,” which publish outright false articles.

Both descriptions are used by the GMF to smear conservative news outlets. The “manipulators” listed by the think-tank include Breitbart News, Fox News, the Daily Wire, the Blaze, and Western Journal. The “false content producers” include the Federalist, World Net Daily, and black conservative radio host Wayne Dupree.

The think tank complains that too many of these sites enjoy high levels of engagement on Facebook, and argues that “de-amplifying—or adding friction to—the content from a handful of the most dangerous sites could dramatically decrease disinformation online.”

The globalist outfit also calls for a “new PBS of the Internet, funded by a fee on online ad revenue.”

The GMF’s motives and objectives, which are transparently in favor of widespread censorship of independent and conservative media, were so egregious that they were condemned by the Wall Street Journal editorial board.

Via WSJ:

The German Marshall Fund (GMF) is an influential think tank based in Washington, D.C., named for U.S. Secretary of State George Marshall’s 1948 plan to help European countries resist Communism. What a shame that in 2020 the outfit is promoting political suppression of conservative news, with state media as a recommended replacement.

Such outlets allegedly “pose a threat to informed democratic discourse.” Their content reaches readers because it is “often oppositional to ‘mainstream media’ and so-called elite or conventional wisdom.” The horror!

The GMF report suggests “a new PBS of the Internet, funded by a fee on online ad revenue.” Critics sometimes refer sarcastically to pro-Trump independent outlets as “state media,” but liberals are promoting genuine state media.

Social media has had a disruptive effect on American institutions, for good and ill. But CEO Mark Zuckerberg was right to commit Facebook against political censorship in 2019. Unfortunately, he’s ceded ground since.

The think-tank cites just one example of alleged “deception” from Breitbart News, but the last line of the item (emphasis ours) implicitly admits that the premise of Breitbart’s story is correct.

Breitbart: “Colorado Secretary of State Encourages Non-Citizens, Deceased to Register to Vote.” The Colorado secretary of state sent mailings to everyone she believed might be eligible to vote in Colorado but listed the qualifications to vote; about a dozen mailings went to people who were deceased or were not citizens.

The GMF is closely tied to the governments and defense industries of major world powers, including the United States.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is listed as a major funder of the organization, contributing “$1 million and above.”

It is also funded, to a lesser extent, by the European Commission, the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The foreign ministries of Finland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Embassy of Japan, and NATO.

Other U.S. agencies also fund the organization. The U.S. State Department, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the U.S. embassies of Belgium, France, and the U.S. missions to NATO and the European Union are all listed as donors.

Other notable donors — Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, Microsoft, Google, Bank of America, JP Morgan, ExxonMobil, and the Open Society Foundations, the infamous funding network founded by George Soros.

In other words, numerous U.S. federal agencies are funding an organization that is a) backed by George Soros, b) backed by Big Tech, and c) is promoting the suppression of conservative media on the internet.

Notably, Facebook — the primary target of GMF’s critique — is a big tech company that is not on its list of donors.

Allum Bokhari is the senior technology correspondent at Breitbart News. His new book, #DELETED: Big Tech’s Battle to Erase the Trump Movement and Steal The Election, which contains exclusive interviews with sources inside Google, Facebook, and other tech companies, is currently available for purchase.
