Video Of How Kyrsten Sinema Voted Against $15 Minimum Wage Goes Viral, Leftists Erupt In Anger

A video showing Krysten Sinema voting against a $15 minimum wage went viral on Friday because of her body language as she voted against it.

As Sinema voted no she bobbed down while giving the vote a thumbs down.

Sawyer Hackett, former senior adviser for failed Democrat presidential candidate Julian Castro, tweeted out a video of Sinema voting no and wrote: “Did Sinema really have vote against a $15 minimum wage for 24 million people like this?”

A reporter with far-left HuffPost wrote: “Jesus this is disrespectful.”

“Primary her and make this the campaign video,” a left-wing activist wrote.

A columnist with a local Arizona newspaper commented, “Kyrsten Sinema really did this. Her thumb down is equivalent to a middle-finger up to the people who voted for her. Astonishing.”

A socialist group wrote: “Not only do some democratic senators vote against a living wage, they do it with glee.”

“Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Jon Tester of Montana, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire voted against proceeding, though the tally remains open,” Politico reported. “So did two close Biden allies, Chris Coons and Tom Carper of Delaware. Sen. Angus King (I-Maine), who caucuses with the Senate Democrats, also opposed it.”

In a statement, Sinema said:

I understand what it is like to face tough choices while working to meet your family’s most basic needs. I also know the difference better wages can make, which is why I helped lead Arizona’s effort to pass an indexed minimum wage in 2006, and strongly supported the voter-approved state minimum wage increase in 2016. No person who works full time should live in poverty. Senators in both parties have shown support for raising the federal minimum wage and the Senate should hold an open debate and amendment process on raising the minimum wage, separate from the COVID-focused reconciliation bill. I will keep working with colleagues in both parties to ensure Americans can access good-paying jobs, quality education, and skills training to build more economically secure lives for themselves and their families.

Arizona’s other Democrat Senator, Mark Kelly, “voted to allow the effort to overrule the Senate parliamentarian, who has decided the measure to raise the wage from $7.25 an hour cannot be considered as part of the COVID-19 legislation,” AZ Central reported. “The aid package is advancing in the 100-member Senate through budget reconciliation rules that bypass the typical 60-vote threshold needed to pass legislation.”

“I’ve talked with Arizonans struggling to make ends meet, and while improvements need to be made to this proposal, I believe hard working Arizonans deserve a raise,” Kelly said. “This COVID relief package is going to bring a lot of immediate help to Arizona families and small business owners, and I’ll continue working with Republicans and Democrats to raise the minimum wage in a way that works for Arizona’s economy, families, and small businesses.”

Josh Hammer: Biden and Fauci Are the Ones with ‘Neanderthal Thinking,’ Not Us

On Tuesday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves announced they would be lifting their statewide mask-wearing mandates, business capacity limitations and various other COVID-19-related restrictions. “COVID still exists,” Abbott said, “but it is clear from the recoveries, from the vaccinations, from the reduced hospitalizations and from the safe practices that Texans are…

New Study PROVES Bigoted Leftists Discriminate Against Conservative Academics

According to a new study, 71% of American academics would feel uncomfortable or unsure about sitting next to a colleague who believes men and women have relevant biological differences.
Professor of Politics at Birbeck College, University of London Eric Kaufmann researched political discrimination among university faculty and students in the U.S., Britain, and Canada. In his articles for Newsweek and the Wall Street Journal, he explained the staggering results of growing fears among conservatives and the evident prejudices launched by the leftist super majority.
Using eight different surveys, Kauffman questioned graduate students and university professors, primarily in the Social Sciences and Humanities departments to determine both how conservative intellectuals felt about their work environments and how leftists perceived their conservative colleagues.
One-third of the conservative graduate students and professors surveyed claimed to have received either discipline or threats of disciplinary action for their political beliefs.
75% of conservative academics in the U.S. and Britain called their workplace “a hostile environment for their beliefs”
90% of the Trump supporters surveyed claimed they “wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing their views with a colleague.” As a result, conservatives naturally self censor themselves to avoid risking the very real possibility of losing social and professional opportunities.

Discrimination is particularly problematic in university hiring and funding allocation for scholarly research.
Kaufmann observed that 40% of American scholars would refuse job offers to “a known Trump supporter” and a third of British academics would not hire a “known Brexit supporter.”
Similarly “[b]etween a fifth and a half of academics would mark a right-leaning grant application lower.”
Among academics
Would discriminate against a Trump supporter-40%
Would support firing someone for finding against diversity-43% (PhDs)
Would be uncomfortable or unsure about sitting

next to a Trump supporter- 57%https://t.co/VLvUQwkJbu pic.twitter.com/F3mRSbJPFM

When it comes to cancel culture, Kaufmann uncovered a small glimmer of hope.
Less than 12% of academics in the U.S., Britain. and Canada said they would 100% support canceling academic professionals who believe children thrive most in the traditional nuclear family model.
And less than a quarter of responding academics committed to canceling colleagues who supported immigration restrictions.
The kicker is that about half of those surveyed remained unsure whether or not they would support the cancellation of a colleague based on his or her stance on certain policy issues. This leaves what Kaufmann calls a “permissive climate” for predominantly young activist scholars to push their agendas through the institutions they work for.

From his findings, Kaufmann concludes that it’s not so much that conservatives are any less biased than leftists but rather that, as a tiny minority group, their biases don’t matter in the grand scheme of the problem. And, this institutional network of discrimination towards conservatives is likely fortifying itself by deterring conservatives from continuing their education.
As many have suspected for a long time, the problem of political discrimination has grown exponentially worse every year. According to the National Association for Scholars, 2020 saw 66 Canadian and American scholars either disciplined or fired from their positions because of real or imagined beliefs they hold; this is a 300% increase from 2019 cancellations. So far, nine cases have arisen just two months into 2021, with remarkably sparse coverage from major news sources on both sides of the aisle. It’s refreshing to see outlets like Newsweek and WSJ giving a voice to Kauffmann’s groundbreaking study.

Newt Gingrich Says Twitter Censored Him for Tweet on COVID, Illegal Immigration

Former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said that Twitter suspended his account for speaking out against the folly of deliberately allowing illegal immigrants to cross the border freely in the time of COVID-19.
Gingrich appeared on Fox Business Mornings With Maria March 5 show to talk to host Maria Bartiromo about a bill before Congress. During the interview, he said that Twitter had just suspended his account. He explained that he was being punished by Twitter because he tweeted “that having illegal immigrants come in without any controls is a public health issue in the time of COVID.”
Standard Twitter policy has been to lock the user’s account so he or she cannot “engage in actions such as Tweeting, Retweeting, or liking” until the offending tweet has been deleted. Gingrich told Bartiromo that he would be appealing the decision in an effort to get Twitter to explain what was wrong with the tweet.
Bartiromo appeared astonished by Gingrich’s comments on censorship. She wondered, “Who put these companies in charge of being the arbiter of truth? What you tweeted is absolutely true.”
Gingrich explained that the result of Big Tech’s wanton censorship would be “a real populous backlash that will either make them liable to lawsuits, or have real controls over them or break them up.” Congress has been considering what to do about Big Tech for some time, with hearings and bills that so far have all gone nowhere.
Gingrich summed up the state of Twitter censorship, saying, “Twitter’s behaving as though it’s a dictatorship, and it’s not.”
Twitter began taking down what it deemed to be COVID-19 misinformation in April, and decided to censor dissent about vaccines starting this year. In October, Twitter flagged a post from President Donald Trump in which he said that COVID-19 was less lethal “in most populations” than “the flu.” Twitter also censored a separate post from Trump in which he said that he was “immune” from COVID-19 after he contracted the virus.
When reached for comment, a Twitter spokesperson said that Gingrich’s account was "temporarily locked for violating our hateful conduct policy," though the spokesperson did not specify which tweet violated the policy or in what way.
Conservatives are under attack. Contact Twitter at (415) 222-9670 and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us at the Media Research Center contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable.
