Dominion Voting Systems: Connecting the Dots

Dominion Voting Systems Corporation is a company that sells electronic voting hardware and software, including voting machines and tabulators, in the United States and Canada. It is also in the headlines presently due to rumors going around of it’s involvement in election rigging claimed by the Trump Administration and his legal team, as the voting systems for the 2020 Presidential Election used their systems to tally votes. While the company itself, along with every other news source has denounced any irregularities or evidence of election rigging due to the voting systems, evidence to the contrary has started to present itself. Here is a brief history of Dominion Election Systems before they became Dominion.

2002.
Diebold Elections Systems Inc. is formed. Previously, DESI was run by Bob Urosevich, who worked in the election systems industry since 1976. In 1979, Mr. Urosevich founded American Information Systems. He served as the President of AIS, now known as Election Systems & Software, Inc. (ES&S), from 1979 through 1992. Bob’s brother, Todd Urosevich, is Vice President, Aftermarket Sales with ES&S, DESI’s chief competitor. In 1995, Bob Urosevich started I-Mark Systems, whose product was a touch screen voting system utilizing a smart card and biometric encryption authorization technology. Global Election Systems, Inc. (GES) acquired I-Mark in 1997, and on July 31, 2000 Mr. Urosevich was promoted from Vice President of Sales and Marketing and New Business Development to President and Chief Operating Officer. On January 22, 2002, Diebold announced the acquisition of GES, then a manufacturer and supplier of electronic voting terminals and solutions. Global Election Systems subsequently changed its name to Diebold Election Systems, Inc.

Fast forward to the election year that followed the creation of Diebold Election Systems. There had been known glitches within Diebold’s software that could alter an election in other candidates favor. Multiple News Outlets wrote articles pertaining to the threat of Election Rigging via E-Voting. Those same media outlets now in 2020, that claim e-voting to be safe and not subject to tampering/glitches even whilst saying the exact opposite 15 years prior. Michael Meacher from “The Guardian” wrote this back in 2005.

“According to Harris, a manipulation technique she found in Diebold’s AccuVote central vote tabulator is able to read totals from an untraceable bogus vote set within its software. “By entering a two-digit code in a hidden location, a second set of votes is created; and this set of votes can be changed in a matter of seconds, so that it no longer matches the correct votes,” she has said. And she has demonstrated this live on television. Her conclusion is: “You can easily edit the election.”

While Diebold denounced these claims, email threads I acquired through digging indicate their knowledge of said bugs in some form or another in their systems and how circumventing was done to avoid detection including halting google searches on the company and the keyword bug, as to not increase the chances of those two keywords coming up in the registry upon searching the company.

Attached below are a few separate emails from various members of the company. (At the end of this article I will post the rest of the email threads I have currently, as to not be selective in only picking out certain conversations.) Pay attention to the name Ian Piper in the separate email below as well. Though he didn’t partake in the email thread below regarding the glitch, he was the Compliance Officer of Diebold Election Systems. This is important in many ways.

A compliance officer is an individual who ensures that a company complies with its outside regulatory and legal requirements as well as internal policies and bylaws. Compliance officers have a duty to their employer to work with management and staff to identify and manage regulatory risk. Now to me, those emails though not too descriptive in detail clearly show knowledge of a said glitch, and an attempt to keep it off the radar somehow. As a Compliance Officer, I don’t think I’d be too off the mark in saying he too had knowledge of a good amount of what was going on within the company.

Shortly following these emails that year and the years following, Diebold Voting Systems were having many widespread irregularities occur. Some as severe as taking votes away from one candidate and transferring them over in favor of the other party/doctoring votes as described in this April 2004 Vanity Fair article written by Michael Shnayerson.

In 2006, Diebold decided to remove its name from the front of the voting machines for strategic reasons. In 2007, it changed its name to Premier Solution Systems. Election Systems & Software (ES&S) acquired Premier Election Solutions on September 3, 2009.

According to Wikipedia, Following the acquisition, the Department of Justice and 14 individual states launched investigations into the transaction on antitrust grounds. In March 2010, the Department of Justice filed a civil antitrust lawsuit against ES&S, requiring it to divest voting equipment systems assets it acquired from Premier Election Solutions in order to restore competition. The company then sold the assets to Dominion Voting Systems.

Dominion Voting Systems acquired Premier on May 19, 2010.

“We are extremely pleased to conclude this transaction, which will restore much-needed competition to the American voting systems market and will allow Dominion to expand its capabilities and operational footprint to every corner of the United States,” said John Poulos, CEO of Dominion. The transaction was approved by the Department of Justice and nine state attorneys general.

Problem with this is Dominion Voting Systems too had its own “glitches” just like Diebold/Premier Solution Systems had dating all the way back as early as 2001. Essentially making it safe to assume that Diebold hadn’t so much as went away, as they travelled from name to name. Dominion was no different. In this March 2012 article from “The Palm Beach Post”, written by George Bennett where a supplier for Dominion Voting Systems blamed the problems on a software “shortcoming” as they put it which ended up transferring the votes of one candidate over to the other.

Now this is but speculation, but this same scenario is what I presume to have occurred with the recent 2020 Presidential Election in multiple states across the country seeing as Dominion Systems are used in more than 29 states in the nation.

As we continue down this rabbit hole, I’ll detail Dominion’s role in everything.
On a sidenote, for those who have recently heard of the company Smartmatic here’s something important you should know contrary to what the company states, when they denounced their affiliation with Dominion. Smartmatic acquired another multi-national technology company which developed advanced election systems, as well as voting machines. This company was called Sequoia Voting Systems. The acquisition occurred on March 8, 2005.

Why is this important?

Because Smartmatic, following a verdict by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), was ordered to sell Sequoia. Who did they sell it to? None other Dominion Voting Systems. So, while not directly related to Dominion, Smartmatic still retains a degree of indirect relationship to it based off the sale of said company.

So now we have Dominion in possession of not just one, but two subsidiaries. Sequoia and Diebold/Premier. If you recall earlier, I brought up Mr. Ian Piper, the Compliance Officer at Diebold. As fate would have it, would you guess who happens to be Director of Certification at Dominion.None other than the man himself.

Now while this may mean nothing to some, I find it odd that this same gentlemen who was employed with Diebold from the very start, the same company who also had claims of directly interfering with ballot results from leaked Diebold email servers. There are roughly 13,000 leaked emails floating out in the web somewhere, but here’s a link to quite a few. Ian Piper is mentioned/seen responding to messages in vast amounts of the emails, as I stated prior due to his employment being there at the time. So again, having knowledge whether directly or indirectly was safe to assume.

So, having worked for a company prior known to have widespread issues that lacked transparency, and therefore the trust of the American People due to irregularities with their systems in the election process dating back 20 years. So why would Dominion keep an employee on their payroll from those volatile times instead of hiring someone with the same qualifications but a more transparent personal and professional record? Because, as I stated earlier, it was never about fixing these errors so much as hiding them among different aliases. Take that as my opinion if you will, but it’s a hypothesis I stand firm on.

Attached below are various documents signed by or written by Ian Piper while employed by Dominion Voting Systems in order to verify the validity of my previous statements and accusations.

Fast forward to July 16, 2018.
Dominion makes the decision to sell to Staple Street Capital LLC. An investment firm based out of New York.

Upon further investigation, I noticed something odd about Staple Street and its members. Half of the executive team in some way or another, has ties to or has worked there prior to, an investment hedge fund corporation called “The Carlyle Group”. Though it’s a minor detail to some, a major detail that stuck out to me, is that George Soros donated $100 Million towards a smaller subsidiary of the group.
Washington Post Article Below:

Whether people choose to investigate further into him or not, you’ll find that wherever Soros is, trouble follows. Be it financial strain upon a country, or public discourse instead.
Focusing our attention back onto the members of Dominion, after glancing over the Executive Team and noticing those details, you’ll notice one even greater detail.
One of the Sitting Board Members of Staple Street:

A Google inquiry into Mr. Kennard being a Sitting Board Member of Staple Street LLC. will be a hit and miss. Staple Street has since taken down everything off their website including the Executive Members and Board Members links. The homepage is generic and lacks any other information besides an “About Us” excerpt. Digital footprints always remain in one form or another, so I managed to find more information including screenshots of the original website before it was erased. Ill attach them below this. Before I do, what I find odd as others should too, is how a Ranking Board Member of the Corporation that just bought out the company who manufactures the voting systems we are using for this year’s Presidential Election isn’t in some shape or form a conflict of interest given his affiliation with not just Bill Clinton and his Administration, but Barack Obama and his administration as well.
(To make it even weirder, Bloomberg took down Kennards biography which I screenshotted as well.)

(After you read, I will now leave it you to decide for yourself what is fact and what is fiction. I partook in vast amounts of research further into these topics, people and corporations I discussed and came to the conclusions I did. If you see what I’m seeing and it has you wanting to find out more as I did, I hope you too start doing your own investigative research and start connecting the dots as I have.- Blade Coplin)

Trump Campaign: PA Court Loss ‘Turns Out To Help Us’

The Trump campaign legal team responded to a recent loss in a Pennsylvania court with optimism, saying that the negative ruling actually aids the campaign’s legal strategy. A federal judge in Pennsylvania threw out a Trump campaign election lawsuit on Saturday, citing a lack of evidence to back up the campaign’s claims of potential voter […]

A Realistic Primer On Georgia’s Senate Runoffs

A Realistic Primer On Georgia’s Senate Runoffs

Tyler Durden

Sun, 11/22/2020 – 15:45

Authored by Matt Towery via RealClearPolitics.com,

In the classic movie “The Godfather,” Michael Corleone travels to a small restaurant in the Bronx to meet with a rival Mafia boss. At the table the boss tells a corrupt policeman who is there to serve as a third-party witness that he is going to “speak to Michael in Italian.” In the movie they switch languages to keep the policeman in the dark.

So I’m going to speak “Georgian,” not to keep anyone out, but to hopefully add context to two situations that the media has been conflating.

First the recount. Despite assertions by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and in the local media, the effort has been disingenuous. There was a failure to properly authenticate ballots. Finding thousands of uncounted ballots in the process doesn’t help create confidence in what Georgia officials claim to be a smooth process.

In addition, post-election data shows that some 15,000 individuals who no longer live in Georgia voted in the recent general election. Another 8,800 inactive voters mysteriously cast a vote in this cycle. Some 14,000 “low propensity” voters who basically have not voted in 10 years also participated. Almost all of those votes were cast before the November 3 same-day voting.

None of this suspicious activity could change the course of a recount in which not enough monitors were provided. And in many of the larger counties, monitors were forced to observe from a distance where they could not see the ballots. Signature verification was not even considered. But those lists of non-resident, inactive, and other so-called “miracle” voters could have their status challenged for the upcoming runoff, if done so quickly. That is not voter “suppression.” It’s enforcing the basic integrity of the election process.

A recent InsiderAdvantage poll showed that only half of Georgia voters believe the results of the November election were fair and accurate. Among Republicans, this figure was more than 70%. So that’s the landscape as we enter the runoff stage in an election that will determine control of the U.S. Senate.

Will the dog hunt?

Our survey found Democrat Raphael Warnock narrowly ahead of Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler 49%-48%, with Republican Sen. David Perdue tied with Democrat Jon Ossoff at 49%-49%.

This suggests to me that both Republican incumbents are slight underdogs. I come to this conclusion not just as a pollster who usually gets Georgia right, but who served as a state representative, a GOP nominee for lieutenant governor, and as the political analyst for three of the four Atlanta network affiliates.

And this is where I start speaking “Georgian.” When I served in the legislature, our legendary House Speaker Tom Murphy used to say, as the legislative session was in its last days, that we were “down to the lick log,” (a farming term) meaning time was up. The Republican candidates in these Senate races are down to that “lick log.” Advanced in-person voting starts in less than a month and absentee ballots start being mailed this week.

And while Democratic activist and former state Rep. Stacey Abrams tweeted on Sunday that more than 600,000 voters already had requested mail ballots, Georgia Republicans are busy fighting with each other. They must find a way to appeal to two, very disparate, branches of their party. One dominates the suburbs – not just in Atlanta, but also outside Athens, Savannah, Columbus, and Sea Island. This is the establishment wing of the GOP. The other is the massive Donald Trump GOP that dominates rural towns and counties from the mountains of North Georgia to the Florida line. With the silence of the Republican Gov. Brian Kemp over the voting issues in Georgia, both rank-in-file Republicans and many state leaders are fighting each other. This is a house divided that must come together quickly — and may not.

Resentment toward Kemp among Trump supporters, who are still reeling from an election result they mistrust, could make turnout for Perdue and Loeffler problematic. Kemp has been asked to call a special legislative session to clean up Georgia’s chaotic absentee ballot laws but refuses to do so. In our latest InsiderAdvantage survey of Georgia, Kemp’s approval rating had plummeted to 37%, with Republicans divided over him.

The early campaign messages in the two races may further complicate matters.

Loeffler advocates have gone to the airwaves linking her opponent, the Rev. Warnock, to support of controversial positions and political figures. One of those ads has images of him dressed in more traditional African dashiki-style garments while preaching in a church. Perhaps that might persuade a few suburban white voters, but those images could also inflame Georgia’s very powerful African American demographic. Whether it is this particular ad, or something else, you can bet that Loeffler will be accused of racism. It’s a time-honored tradition in Georgia politics and trust me, it’s coming.

As a percentage of the vote, African Americans made up less of the general election turnout in November than in recent presidential contests. That should actually concern Republicans. Why? Because in the runoff Georgians could make history by electing a black pastor to the U.S. Senate from a state in the Deep South. I expect African American participation to increase: certainly, Democrats are trying to pump it up, as powerful figures such as Barack Obama have come to Georgia to point to this unique moment.

In Perdue’s instance, it appears that the well-worn “he’s too liberal” TV ad (which rarely resonates with voters in Georgia) has been substituted with a “he’s too radical” version. Perdue’s opponent, Jon Ossoff, has carefully cultivated image of a “progressive moderate.” Throwing the “R word” around might not do enough to damage the Democratic nominee. Just ask Craig Keshishian, the last living pollster for Ronald Reagan. Keshishian flatly declares, in a California version of our Georgia lingo, “That dog won’t hunt.”

And running Sen. Chuck Schumer in attack ads won’t work either because most Georgia voters have only a vague concept of who he is or what he does.

Republicans’ task

To recover their momentum, Republicans have to find a way to do three things:

First, the messaging to Atlanta suburban white voters must be specific as to how a victory for the Democratic nominees will impact them in a very personal way. That means ads showing solar panels being forced on their homes and social workers substituting for police. Calculating the cost of their soon-to-be new tax increases in their city or county, courtesy of lost revenues due to COVID, might make these voters think twice about casting a vote that is likely to add to their federal tax burden. Unless they see tangible challenges to their lifestyle or pocketbooks, suburban voters will likely continue their drift to a party they view as moderate — or perhaps even liberal — but not socialist.

Secondly, the Trump base must be reengaged. Make no mistake, a huge portion of these voters couldn’t care less about the two U.S. senators. Their devotion is to Donald J. Trump, and only Trump can deliver them back to the polls. In Georgia, Trump is not a political figure among most Republicans; he’s closer to a religion.

Finally, let’s return to that discussion of the recount. How about those many voters who have moved out of Georgia or who have not voted in ages but somehow managed to send an absentee ballot this go-around? These votes, however they were obtained, represent the slim margin which make the two Republicans sight underdogs in my book. There is a short window in which, under Georgia law, their status can be challenged by appealing to their local county election board.

For the two Republican incumbents, and for the balance of power in the Senate, we are truly at “the lick log.”

Liberal law prof calls out Michigan Dem AG for ‘abusive use of criminal code’ over vote certification drama

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, a Democrat, is reportedly exploring a criminal investigation or criminal charges against Michigan officials who might try to block the certification of Michigan’s election results at the alleged behest of President Donald Trump.

The development comes after two Wayne County Republicans moved to rescind their votes to certify their county’s election results.

Also last week, four Michigan lawmakers, all Republicans, personally met with Trump at the White House. However, after that meeting, the lawmakers said in a statement that they would "follow the law and follow the normal process regarding Michigan’s electors."

What are the details?

According to the Washington Post:

Michigan’s attorney general is exploring whether officials there risk committing crimes if they bend to President Trump’s wishes in seeking to block the certification of Joe Biden’s victory in their state, according to two people familiar with the review.

The attorney general is conferring with election law experts on whether officials may have violated any state laws prohibiting them from engaging in bribery, perjury and conspiracy, according to people familiar with the deliberations who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter.

In response to the controversy over Wayne County and Trump’s meeting with Michigan lawmakers, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) said Trump is trying to "steal the election."

"The president can say all he wants. He can summon people to the White House all he wants. He can try to interfere… but the fact of the matter is Joe Biden won this state and won big," Whitmer told CNN last week.

"The will of the people will be done, and these efforts to disenfranchise Wayne County, where a majority of our African American voters live, is a blatant attempt to steal the election result and disenfranchise Michigan voters — and it will not stand," she added.

Biden legal adviser Bob Bauer similarly denounced the meeting, according to the Post.

"It’s an abuse of office," Bauer said. "It’s an open attempt to intimidate election officials. It’s absolutely appalling."

What was the reaction?

Jonathan Turley, a professor at George Washington University Law School and self-described "liberal," responded to the report by accusing Nessel of "abusive use of the criminal code."

"Michigan AG Nessel and others are suggesting that Republicans who oppose certification or even meet with President Trump on the issue could be criminally investigated or charged. Once again, the media is silent on this abusive use of the criminal code," Turley said.

He added, "Imagine if this was AG Barr threatening Democratic legislators with criminal investigation for challenging Trump votes. The media would be apoplectic. Yet, when used against Republicans, there is a celebration for the use of the criminal code for politically motivated threats."

FLASHBACK: Lou Dobbs on CNN in 2006: Smartmatic Based in Venezuela Sold to Sequoia, Top Officials Still in Venezuela, Before Sale to Dominion

Here’s a blast from the past!
Back in 2006 when the great Lou Dobbs was at CNN the former news channel ran a segment on Smartmatic voting machines.

According to this CNN report, Smartmatic was based in Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela and was sold to Sequoia. But the top officials for Smartmatic were still in Venezuela. CNN was worried this could interfere with our democracy.
Amazing!

This is from the CNN segment:

Smartmatic, the Electronic Voting Machine manufacturer whose machines are notorious for failures, is based in Venezuela. The Treasury Department, which is supposed to be the look into connections between sensitive US infrastructure and foreign interests has failed yet again to protect the American people. What is more important than the correctness of our Democracy?

This video was posted on Youtube back in August 2006!
It only has 3,847 views!

After Smartmatic was sold to Sequoia, Sequoia was sold to Dominion in 2007!

Border Patrol Reports Surge In Illegal Immigration Since Election

Border Patrol Reports Surge In Illegal Immigration Since Election

Tyler Durden

Sun, 11/22/2020 – 17:25

Authored by Monica Showalter via AmericanThinker.com,

Migrants, and more important, the people who traffic and profit from migrants, are like the stock market: They’re forward-looking. They make decisions now based on what they see coming down the pike.

So surprise, surprise, the media’s crowning of Joe Biden president, along with many world leaders congratulating him and conducting their affairs of state with him, even as legal challenges are going on, has sent a message to Central America’s gangs and Mexico’s cartels, who control migrant smuggling routes to the U.S. It’s time to profit. It’s time to go. A new border surge has begun, in anticipation of a Biden open-borders presidency, which comes just as Democrat-run states and Biden himself are prescribing new COVID lockdowns.

According to the Washington Times’s Stephen Dinan:

Border Patrol agents are already seeing a Biden surge in illegal immigration at the southwest border, officials said Thursday, with the numbers surging 21% over the last month alone.

Acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan said worsening economic conditions south of the border are largely responsible for the uptick, but he also blamed “perceived and or anticipated shifts in policies” here in the U.S.

He said it’s particularly dangerous at a time when the coronavirus pandemic is taking a toll on CBP personnel. At least 1,300 CBP staffers are currently quarantined, 700 are currently COVID-positive and 15 have died of the virus.

“I’ve attended way too many funerals,” Mr. Morgan said.

Border Patrol agents and CBP officers snared about 69,000 unauthorized border crossers in October, up from about 58,000 in September.

Based on the number of COVID cases the Border Patrol is suffering, the unvetted migrants are bringing it in.

Which pretty well negates the Biden/Democrat effort to enforce more lockdowns — the closed schools, the targeted bars, gyms and restaurants, the limited travel, the cancelled Thanksgiving, and more.

So long as there is no lockdown at the border, and COVID is rolling in from unvetted migrants with enough money to pay smuggling syndicates, any efforts to contain COVID from the stateside is nonsense. Too bad about all the boarded-up businesses.

It highlights the fundamental contradition of Biden’s love for lockdowns, and support for open borders. You can have one or the other, but you can’t have both. Biden’s policy of open borders stands in stark contradiction to his vow to contain COVID. Which one do you think he’s more serious about?

Issues & Insights had an excellent item the other day on just what he says he intends:

Instead of expelling illegals to protect U.S. neighbors and families, the Biden-Sanders priority is to make sure that “health coverage is available to everyone for testing, treatment, medical services, rehabilitation, and that vaccines are available free of charge, regardless of immigration or economic status.”

Beyond this, Biden has promised to dismantle Trump policies that had been working to restrain the flow of illegals – sorry, “undocumented people” – across the border.

Wall construction will stop. Biden promises to implement a 100-day freeze on deportations “while his administration issues guidance narrowing who can be arrested by immigration agents,” according to one news account.

He plans to reinstate catch-and-release, which created a massive loophole for illegals who are set free into the country while their asylum claim is adjudicated, never to return for their final hearing.

Up until now, President Trump has used Title 42 of the U.S. Code to expel illegal border crossers because of COVID.

That’s one of the very regulations that a President Biden can end instantly with the stroke of a pen, according to this Time magazine analysis:

Biden could also end Trump’s “expulsions” that have taken place since March 2020 as COVID-19 has spread across the U.S. and most of the world.

DHS’s expulsion rule allows U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to immediately remove anyone who crosses the border without authorization to their last country of transit without traditional processing or a chance to have their claims heard in court because of the risks posed by COVID-19. Since the rule was adopted in March, U.S. Border Patrol has conducted more than 197,000 expulsions, according to CBP data.

And yes, these places the illegal migrants are coming from are seeing big surges in COVID as well as the terrible economic effects of local lost tourism, lost trade, lockdowns, and shutdowns, as noted in this Focus Economics report here. The migrants looking for economic opportunity in the U.S. will find the same lockdowns here, but with generous welfare and free medical care.

For Americans, there will just be more imported COVID.

Which, to get cynical, might just be what Democrats want — a permanent COVID that keeps the country locked down and themselves powerful, and millions and millions of COVID-filled migrants coming in to ensure that the lockdowns extend, ensuring that COVID is never contained.

You can bet Joe Biden won’t be addressing this fundamental contradiction of policy. He’s not serious about ending COVID. And in any case, he never answers questions. Not beyond what kind of ice cream he ordered. As long as migrants are surging the border, there will always be more waves of imported COVID.

WATCH: Protesters Gather In California Beach City To Defy Gov. Newsom’s Curfew Order

What local media described as a “massive crowd” of protesters assembled in Huntington Beach, California, on Saturday night to defy Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom’s month-long curfew order that took effect for most of the state at 10 pm.

The new mandate applies to counties in the state’s most restrictive “purple” tier of its reopening plan, in which about 94% of Californians reside. Officials said the objective is to discourage people from attending social gatherings and drinking alcohol, behaviors they claim contributed to the recent increase in COVID-19 infections throughout the state.

Video from the scene showed demonstrators lining the sidewalks around the Huntington Beach Pier at Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. Many waved American flags as drivers honked their horns in support while driving through the area. Most attendees were there to condemn Gov. Newsom’s actions, saying the curfew infringes on civil liberties. Still, many were just as passionate about displaying their commitment to President Donald J. Trump.

“I [would] like to see curfews go away,” one unidentified man told the CBS News affiliate in Los Angeles, later adding: “I don’t agree with it. I think there’s too many restrictions as is. Obviously, a lot of people don’t agree with what our governor and our city officials are doing … but curfews is just a little too far.”

The “Huntington Beach Curfew Breakers” rally was publicized on social media by a popular television reporter, but it’s not clear who organized the demonstration.

“If you are a free American and are more than non-essential join us for a clear act of defiance against Newsoms [sic] 10PM stay at home order,” an online flyer said, instructing interested parties to meet at the pier at 10:01 pm.

Located about 37 miles southeast of L.A., Huntington Beach is the largest oceanside community in Orange County. The sheriff had previously said deputies would not enforce Newsom’s curfew directive.

A spokesperson for the Huntington Beach Police Department said protesters were mostly law-abiding, although one person was arrested for public intoxication. No unlawful assembly was declared, and law enforcement did not issue citations for individuals violating the curfew. The event ended after midnight, police said.

As The Daily Wire previously reported, Gov. Newsom on Thursday afternoon announced that a curfew was forthcoming. In a press release, his office described the new measure as “the same as the March Stay at Home Order, but applied only between 10 pm and 5 am and only in the purple tier counties that are seeing the highest rates of positive cases and hospitalizations.”

However, recent events have caused a growing number of Californians to question the moral authority of Gov. Newsom and other elected officials who have been accused of skirting the same guidelines they push onto their constituents.

Newsom faced harsh criticism after recent news reports revealed he had attended a birthday celebration at a ritzy restaurant earlier this month with about a dozen people. His presence at the dinner party violated guidelines set forth by the California Department of Public Health that prohibited social gatherings of more than three households. When Newsom apologized last week, he said the affair had taken place outdoors, but photographs later surfaced that called that claim into question.
