Pastor John MacArthur Responds To California’s Threats Of Imprisonment: ‘Bring It On’

Grace Community Church Pastor John MacArthur fired back a response to California officials threatening him with jail time for holding in-person services in his church: “Bring it on.”

MacArthur appeared on Fox News on Tuesday night with host Laura Ingraham to discuss his ongoing battle with Los Angeles County officials. The pastor has rebelled against coronavirus-related health directives and wrangled in court with the county since July.

“We received a letter with a threat that we could be fined or I could go to jail for a maximum of six months,” MacArthur told Ingraham. “Of course, my biblical hero apart from the Lord Jesus Christ is the apostle Paul, and when he went into a town, he didn’t ask what the hotel was like, he asked what the jail was like because he knew that’s where he was gonna spend his time. So I don’t mind being a little apostolic if they want to tuck me in a jail.”

“I’m open for a jail ministry. I’ve done a lot of other ministries and haven’t had the opportunity to do that one, so bring it on,” he added.

Grace Community Church received a cease and desist letter in August for holding in-person services banned under Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s pandemic lockdown order. The letter threatened the church with $1,000 daily fines and MacArthur with imprisonment if the church did not comply.

The church has retained legal counsel from the Thomas More Society. Church attorneys argued in response to the letter that Newsom’s lockdown order violated half a dozen parts of the California State Constitution.

“We believe that the governor, the county, the city, and the health department are going against the Constitution,” MacArthur said in the Tuesday night appearance on Fox News. “And just to remove one obvious question, the rate of Covid in California is 1/100 of 1%. So 1/100 of 1% of 40 million people have Covid and that eliminates freedom to worship from the entire state.”

“That is the onerous reality. The Constitution supports us and, by the way, I am so thankful that President Trump has told me personally that he supports the church as essential and the churches need to stay open. So, with the Constitution on our side and the president’s backing, we’re open,” MacArthur added.

Last week, the Los Angeles Superior Court issued a preliminary injunction against MacArthur’s church, barring it from holding indoor services.

As The Daily Wire reported:

MacArthur and Grace Community Church’s attorneys from the Thomas More Society said Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff “refused to consider their important separation of powers arguments ‘in any meaningful fashion’ and essentially ‘ducked the issue,’” according to statements provided to The Daily Wire.

The judge’s order prohibits the church from “conducting, participating in, or attending any indoor worship services” and also demands any outdoor worship is to be conducted in full compliance with the county’s rules regarding masks and social distancing.

Watch McEnany Call Out WH Press Corps for No Questions About Middle East Peace Deal

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany closed out Wednesday’s briefing with a short yet stinging rebuke of the press corps for having failed to ask a single question about Tuesday’s Abraham Accords, which wouldn’t have been the case if it were brokered and signed during the Obama administration.
During the 20 minutes that made up the Q&A portion, there were at least 41 questions from a minimum of 14 reporters on topics such as China, the coronavirus pandemic, the election, Hurricane Sally, immigration, masks, taxes, TikTok, and trade.

But yet again, there was nothing on the landmark deal with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates affirming Israel’s right to exist and normalizing relations.
McEnany had just taken a question about HHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Michael Caputo taking a leave of absence and said she wouldn’t comment on the announcement, but what she would “weigh into is the Middle East peace deal signed yesterday, that I did not receive a single question about, that was the first time it’s happened in a quarter of a century.”
She then pointed out the obvious: “If Obama and Biden had achieved this, it would look a lot different.”
Kayleigh was absolutely right and a quick perusing of the NewsBusters archives would back her up when it came to coverage of the Obama administration’s Iran nuclear deal.
Hours after it was announced on July 14, 2015, the broadcast networks trumpeted the “historic nuclear deal” as “a major victory” and “top diplomatic priority” achieved by Obama. That evening, ABC, CBS, and NBC combined to gush over the “jubilant” negotiators “charting a new course” and “moment of history.”
And on MSNBC, Rachel Maddow called it “the major foreign policy achievement, not only of this presidency, but of this American generation” to remind the world why Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize.
Maddow’s colleague Chris Hayes was similarly enthused, saying an hour before her that the deal would go down as “a potentially transformative moment for American foreign policy.”
By the next morning (July 15, 2015), celebrations continued as NBC’s Peter Alexander boasted of the “legacy-defining deal for President Obama” while ABC’s Amy Robach touted “celebrations on the streets of Iran.”
Back in 2020, McEnany highlighted two examples of the reaction in the liberal media to Trump’s deals and closed with a swipe at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
You wouldn’t have Chuck Todd saying he’s ‘uncomfortable’ with the deal that brings peace between the United Arab Emirates and Israel, and Bahrain. You wouldn’t have CBS calling it “a business deal” and you wouldn’t have Nancy Pelosi calling it a “distraction.” Maybe it’s a distraction from her visits to the hair salon, but those were significant agreements. First time in the quarter of a century. Three peace deals in 29 days. Took 26 years for the prior two peace deals. So this, the Nobel Peace Prize nomination for the President, two of them, very well-deserved.
As she left the room, all that could be heard was carnival barker, Playboy reporter, and former CNNer Brian Karem shouting this juvenile question: “Kayleigh, if he’s a law and order President, why does he keep breaking the law?”
With this having been a press briefing, there were no commercials to discuss as having sponsored their left-wing propaganda. However, you can still go here to check out the MRC’s Conservatives Fight Back page to see many of the advertisers that support the work of ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and NBC.

ABC Ambushes Trump With a Debate at Q&A, POTUS Brings the Heat (Pt.1)

What was pitched to viewers as a “20/20 Special Event” Tuesday, a town hall with President Trump, turned out to be the first 2020 presidential debate. But instead of Democratic nominee Joe Biden as Trump’s opponent, the President squared off against ABC’s chief anchor and Clinton lackey, George Stephanopoulos, who took every opportunity to battle his guest.
Part one in NewsBusters’ analysis of the faux debate will cover their sparing over the coronavirus response, anti-Trump claims made by The Atlantic, and the most heartfelt moment from the night. Part two was conducted here by the indefatigable Curtis Houck and covers their battles over violence in Democratic-led cities, ObamaCare, and race relations.
Aside from letting some the questioners rhetorically duke it out Trump, Stephanopoulos took it upon himself to be on the debate stage. Their first sparring match happened just seven minutes into the event as he demanded to know, “what did you get wrong” with the coronavirus response?
Stephanopoulos added: “You say a lot of people got things wrong. I mean, you mentioned China at the top right there. All through January and February, you — you — you were downplaying by your own admission the severity of the crisis, that you didn’t want to panic people.”
That kicked off a hefty back and forth over Trump’s handling of the pandemic with ABC “journalist” standing in for Biden (Click “expand”):
TRUMP: Not downplaying, George. George —
STEPHANOPOULOS: But let me finish the question first.
TRUMP: Not downplaying.
STEPHANOPOULOS: But those are your words.
TRUMP: I don’t want to drive our nation into a panic. I’m a cheerleader for this nation. I’m the one that closed up our country. I closed it up long before any of the experts thought I should and saved hundreds of thousands of lives. But when I closed it, I put a ban on our country and the ban was a very important ban because China was heavily —
STEPHANOPOULOS: I wanted to ask you about China, because —
TRUMP: — China was heavily infected —
STEPHANOPOULOS: And that’s —
TRUMP: By the way, I read where other people said do it, no people that I saw said do it and I know they said security advisers and others. I put a ban on when it wasn’t at all popular. Joe Biden said I was xenophobic because I put the ban on and I thought that was a very unfair — and by the way, he’s totally taken that back, but I’m not sure he knows what it means
STEPHANOPOULOS: I want to ask you about China, though, because at that time, you were actually praising President Xi. You were saying he was transparent, you were saying he was strong, you were saying he was doing a good job. Did you get that wrong? Did you misjudge President Xi?
TRUMP: I don’t think I did. We just finished a trade deal. We just had the largest order of corn in the history of our country last week, the largest order of soybeans, the largest order of beef because they know I’m very unhappy. They know I’m very unhappy.
STEPHANOPOULOS: But you said he was doing a good job and now you’re blaming China.
Continuing to press the offense, Stephanopoulos moved on to dropping the roughly 195,000 COVID deaths at Trump’s feet and pressed him for an explanation. “When you see that, when you think about that, does that give you any pause, does it make you think, is there anything I could have done differently? Anything you could have done more,” he wanted to know.
After Trump noted that upwards of two million people could have died if he didn’t close down entry into the United States when he did, Stephanopoulos inserted his own narrative: “So, you regret nothing?”

Of course, the Clinton lackey brought up Bod Woodward’s book, Rage and the media’s accusations of Trump lying about the virus. Trump recalled that great leaders like Winston Churchill were great leaders because they urged their people to stay calm during hard times. “So you think it’s okay to be dishonest,” Stephanopoulos sneered in response.
And while Stephanopoulos was bringing up instances where Dr. Anthony Fauci disagreed with the President, he failed to note how Fauci refuted the claims in Woodward’s book.
At almost an hour in, ABC’s chief anchor took to assailing the President over the already debunked allegations from the left-wing Atlantic magazine, which claimed he had called dead soldiers “losers” and “suckers.”
“Mr. President, you have — you have used language like that in the past. You did say that John McCain wasn’t a war hero and notably silent in the wake of this article where General John Kelly, who was your chief of staff at the time, General James Mattis, who served as defense secretary for you, has said you’re, –“ Stephanopoulos began before Trump interjected.
Suggesting he was “getting to a broader point,” Stephanopoulos conflated the Atlantic’s claims with claims from former cabinet officials who’ve come out against the President (Click “expand”):
STEPHANOPOULOS: General Mattis said you’re a divider. You’re not trying to unite the country. General Kelly said he agreed with that. John Bolton, who was your national security adviser, said you are a danger to the country. The people in these top military positions who serve most closely with you have said you’re unfit for office. How do you respond to that? How do —
TRUMP: These are people that I let go. These are disgruntled former employees, to put it in a nice way, a term people would understand. Mattis was a highly overrated general. Didn’t do the job. Didn’t do good on ISIS. I took over 100 percent of the ISIS caliphate. I had the people I wanted in. Mattis was fired, as you know, by President Obama and I fired him also.
But while Stephanopoulos was eager to use Bolton’s words against Trump, he failed to note that Bolton had also refuted the accusations made by the Atlantic. Stephanopoulos also decided to debate Trump on whether he fired Mattis or if he resigned. Trump said he asked Mattis for his resignation letter to be “nice.”
In the most touching portion of the town hall, the President showed a softer side when listening to a woman named Flor Cruceta, who had just become a U.S. citizen. Her mother had also recently become a citizen so she could vote in the upcoming election, but she unfortunately past away last month from cancer.
“She was supposed to be here and ask you and thank you for this — if they should take — during this epidemic, you made people closer. We lost our jobs but we learned how to love our family. So I’m saying that from her,” Cruceta said through her tears.

It would go away without the vaccine, George, but it’s going to go away a lot faster with the vaccine.

TRUMP: Sure, over a period of time. Sure, with time it could go away.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Absolutely.
TRUMP: Thank you. Did you say your mom got COVID?
CRUCETA: We come from the Dominican Republic in 2006 to live our American dream. But she forget how to take care of herself and she died last month. I’m sorry.
TRUMP: Terrible. And that’s okay. It’s okay.
CRUCETA: She have [sic] breast cancer but it metastasized in her brain, bone and lungs and she passed on the 19th. One of her biggest dream was to become a citizen to vote, and she did. She did ten days before she died and I did it, too. She pushed me so hard to do it and I did it this past 28th. I’m here because of her. She was supposed to be here and ask you and thank you for the — the issues you take during the epidemic. You make people closer. We lost our job but we learned how to love our family, so, I’m saying that from her.
TRUMP: Very nice.
CRUCETA: Her question for you was, because she wrote this question, what will you do for our immigration system, what would you change, to make more people like me and like her, to become citizens and vote?

Facebook Censors Tucker Carlson’s Interview With “Rogue” Chinese Scientist

Facebook Censors Tucker Carlson’s Interview With "Rogue" Chinese Scientist

Tyler Durden

Wed, 09/16/2020 – 14:45

After "rogue" Chinese scientist Dr. Li-Meng Yan was silenced by Twitter yesterday over her claims that the coronavirs was "created in a lab", Tucker Carlson had her on his show last night to try and give her message – which has been condemned as fraudulent by the press – a broader airing.

After telling Tucker and his audience that the CCP is trying to "disappear" her, Dr. Mong said SARS-CoV-2 was a "frankenvirus" designed to target humans, and that it was "intentionally released."

"It could never comes from nature," she said, at one point, referring to COVID-19. Of course, the mainstream press reports that there’s no evidence to suggest that the virus was cooked up in a lab. They insist that science has established the "official story" (zoonotic transmission, the same route most deadly viruses attack humans), and that anything questioning that narrative is dangerous propaganda released by foreign adversaries and Trump-aligned media.

After Tucker’s social media managers shared a clip from Tuesday night’s show, however, Facebook immediately jumped on the censorship bandwagon, blocking the clip and imposing a label reading "false info"

In the face of growing popular backlash and antitrust scrutiny, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has largely caved to critics on the left insisting that Facebook was facilitating the downfall of democracy by allowing for the spread of dangerous lies and "false" – some might say "unproven" – rumors. The company recently said it would bar new election ads during the final week of the campaign to prevent a last-minute devolution into brutal mudslinging.

A similar post shared on the show’s Facebook page, with more than 2.5 million followers, was also censored.

Both posts remain up as of Wednesday afternoon.

Democrat Michigan Secretary of State Misprints Trump Ticket on Ballots for Troops

The Michigan secretary of state misprinted the Trump line on ballots intended to be mailed to troops serving overseas, the Detroit News reported.

Jocelyn Benson, who has endorsed President Trump’s rival, Joe Biden, and spoke at the recent Democratic National Convention (DNC), made the apparent error. The ballot listed Jeremy Cohen as Trump’s running mate. Cohen is running for vice president on the libertarian ticket with Jo Jorgensen.

The name of the incumbent vice president, Mike Pence, was omitted altogether. Jorgensen’s line lacked a running mate, thus creating three errors on the ballot.

Over 400 incorrect ballots were downloaded from the secretary’s website by local clerks to be sent to voters. It is not clear how many were actually mailed.

The ballots were “meant to be mailed or emailed to Michigan residents living abroad under the Military and Overseas Empowerment (MOVE) Act,” the paper reported.

“Replacement” ballots will be issued to those who may have been mailed incorrect ones, according to the secretary of state’s office.

“If a voter does happen to return the incorrect ballot instead of the correct ballot, it will still count,” Benson spokeswoman Tracy Wimmer said.

“The clerk will be instructed to duplicate a vote for Trump onto a ballot for Trump/Pence.”

The secretary of state has endorsed Biden for president.

During the DNC, Benson pushed voting by mail.

“And let’s be clear: there is absolutely zero difference between voting by mail and voting absentee. Millions of Americans have been voting absentee for decades. Donald Trump, his family, his staff — they all vote by mail. In fact, in states like Colorado, Utah, and Oregon voters have been voting by mail for years. Republicans and Democrats agree: it is safe,” she said, according to ABC News.

In 2018, Biden endorsed Benson to be secretary of state.

“Jocelyn is a leader who will make Michigan proud and that is why I am supporting her,” he said.

Chris Rock: Democrats ‘Let the Pandemic Come In’ While Pushing Impeachment

In a surprising accusation from a major Hollywood figure, comedian Chris Rock is holding Democrats responsible for the spread of the coronavirus, saying party leaders “let the pandemic come in” while they were busy pushing the ultimately unsuccessful impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Chris Rock made the accusation in a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times in which he also discussed President Trump and the use of blackface in entertainment.

The comedian told the Times that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Congressional Democrats allowed the virus to spread because they were focused on impeachment proceedings.

“It was totally up to Pelosi and the Democrats. Their thing was, ‘We’re going to get him impeached,’ which was never going to happen. You let the pandemic come in. Yes, we can blame Trump, but he’s really the 5-year-old,” Rock said.

Democrat leaders showed little to no public interest in the coronavirus pandemic during its early months. In January, when the gravity of the virus was becoming apparent, Congressional Democrats staged a photo-op in which they solemnly walked the articles of impeachment through the Capitol rotunda.

Later that month, Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) infamously tore up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union address on live television, even though the address directly referenced the pandemic and promised that the White House “will take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from this threat.”

Breitbart News has reported on how the Democrats’ impeachment effort cost America valuable time in its fight against the coronavirus. House Democrats didn’t take up the coronavirus in the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia until early February.

In his Times interview, Chris Rock showed little respect for the commander in chief, comparing him to a child ruler.

“Did you ever see that movie The Last Emperor, where like a 5-year-old is the emperor of China? There’s a kid and he’s the king. So I’m like, it’s all the Democrats’ fault. Because you knew that the emperor was 5 years old. And when the emperor’s 5 years old, they only lead in theory. There’s usually an adult who’s like, ‘OK, this is what we’re really going to do.’”

The newspaper asked Rock if he thinks Hollywood’s rush to expunge all past uses of blackface in entertainment has gone too far.

“If I say they are, then I’m the worst guy in the world. There’s literally one answer that ends my whole career,” he replied. “Blackface ain’t cool, OK? That’s my quote. Blackface is bad. Who needs it? It’s so sad, we live in a world now where you have to say, I am so against cancer. “I just assumed you liked cancer.” No, no, no, I am so against it. You have to state so many obvious things you’re against.”

Rock also said that the Obama presidency didn’t represent a positive for black Americans.

“Obama becoming the president, it’s progress for white people. It’s not progress for Black people.”
