Actor and singer Robert Davi, known for starring roles in classic films like the Goonies, Die Hard, and The Expendables 3, joined Wednesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Jerome Hudson to discuss his latest song about American exceptionalism, “The House I Live In,” and warned America to reject the left’s version of America.
“Don’t believe the left’s version of America,” said Davi. The introduction to Davi’s latest song, a reprise of Frank Sinatra’s “The House I Live In,” asks, “What is America to me?” Hudson described the song as “a beautiful homage to the greatness of America.”
LISTEN:
Davi reflected on the historical context of the song’s original composition while warning against acceptance of left-wing historical narratives denigrating America.
“I did this song, because in 1946 — against anti-semitism and racial bigotry — a couple of men, one being Frank Sinatra, got together, [with] a guy named Abel Meeropol — under the name of Lewis Allan — and another guy, Earl Robinson, and they wrote this song,” David stated. “Sinatra performed it, got a special on Oscar, and it was in response to the overwhelming racial bigotry and antisemitism happening in the country at that time.”
LISTEN:
Davi continued, “The unique part about it is that Abel Meeropol — he adopted [Julius and Ethel Rosenberg’s] children. He was a communist at the time, or considered a communist at the time. Later, [he] changed his tune on that, but their vision of America — even though they were they were liberal, they were bleeding heart liberal, perhaps — their vision of America was so different.”
“It was an inclusive song,” Davi added. “It’s an inspiring song talking about America’s greatness, not about flag burning, not about people on their knees, and the Hollywood media telling you how awful the country is. We can’t believe that. Don’t believe the left’s version of America. You cannot believe the left’s version of America.”
The video, created by Logan Cook, aka, Carpe Donktum, for “The House I Live In” showcases “the diversity of America,” Davi remarked.

David identified the left’s unattainable pursuit of a perfected human condition.
David stated, “All societies have issues. No matter what part of the world you’re in, there is no Utopian society.” He added, “I wanted to do a song that reminded America — reminded the people — because it answers the question, ‘What is America to me?’, and at the end of the day, it’s the people coming together.”
Disparagement of American society is a feature of left-wing politics, noted Davi.
“Because the president is optimistic, we have these globalists — we have these people in power today — that are tearing down America. They’re not building up America.”Davi analogized left-wing political leadership in America with abusive parents. He said, “It’s like having a father imagine having a father that tells you you’re a piece of garbage every day. What are you going to turn into having a mother or father tell you you’re a piece of garbage? Would you rather say to your son or daughter, ‘You can accomplish anything you want’?”.
Davi concluded by highlighting the self-perpetuating political momentum of leftism.
Davi declared, “Marxism doesn’t stop. It eats you up, It’s like that old game Pac-Man. It will eat you to death until you don’t exist, except for the state, except for the game’s conceit on itself, and that’s what they’re doing to this country, and we’ve got one backstop, Donald Trump. He’s the last backstop. That’s it.”
Trump is “the last hope for America” against leftism, warned Davi.

President Donald Trump on Friday spoke at the Flight 93 memorial in Pennsylvania, honoring the Americans who lost their lives on 9/11/2001 fighting back against terrorists.
“The heroes of Flight 93 are an everlasting reminder. No matter the danger, no matter the threat, no matter the odds, America will always rise up, stand tall and fight back,” Trump said.

The president and First Lady Melania Trump attended the ceremony at the memorial, honoring the sacrifice of the 40 Americans on board the flight. He recalled the passengers rose up against the radical Islamic terrorists that had hijacked the plane, crashing it into a Pennsylvania field before it could reach the Capitol building in Washington, DC.
“The 40 on Flight 93 did the most American of things, they took a vote and they acted together,” Trump said. “They charged the cockpit. They confronted the pure evil and in their last act on this earth they saved our Capitol.”
The president reminded Americans the hijacked flight was just 20 minutes away from their target.
“The only thing that stood between the enemy and a deadly strike at the heart of American democracy was the courage and resolve of American men and women,” Trump said.

The president recalled prior to their heroic action, they prayed together and called their families to say goodbye.
“They whispered the immortal words, ‘I love you,’” Trump said. “Today those words ring out across these sacred grounds and shine down from heaven above.”
The president recalled the spirit of 9/11, noting Americans came together despite their differences to pray and mourn together as they faced the challenge of rebuilding.
“The song “God Bless America” became a rallying cry for the nation,” he recalled. “We were united by our conviction that America was the world’s most exceptional country, blessed with the most incredible heroes and that this was a land worth defending with our very last breath.”

He also recalled America’s shared values which helped bring the country back from the attack.
“It was a unity based on love for our families, care for our neighbors, loyalty to our fellow citizens, pride in our great flag, gratitude for our police and first responders, faith in God, and a refusal to bend our will to the depraved forces of violence and intimidation, oppression and evil,” he said.

President Donald Trump said the heroes of Flight 93 are a reminder that "America will always rise up, stand tall, and fight back" during a 9/11 memorial service in Shanksville, Pa., on Friday.
"The heroes of Flight 93 are an everlasting reminder that no matter the danger, no matter the threat, no matter the odds, America will always rise up, stand tall, and fight back," Trump said.
"At this very hour on this very field, 40 brave men and women triumphed over terror and gave their lives in defense of our nation. Their names and their stories are forever inscribed on the eternal roll call of American heroes," he continued.
Shanksville is the crash site of United Airlines Flight 93, the flight that saw passengers fight back against four al Qaeda hijackers, leading to a crash in a large empty field. According to al Qaeda’s Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Ramzi bin al-Shibh, the intended target of the suicide mission was the United States Capitol Building. The memorial to those lost now stands in the field where they crashed.
"To the family members of Flight 93, today every heartbeat in America is wedded to yours, your pain and anguish is the shared grief of our whole nation," Trump said. "The memory of your treasured loved ones will inspire America for all time to come."
