SCIENCE: White Libs More Likely To Have Mental Health Problems

White liberals are significantly more likely than other racial and ideological groups to be diagnosed with a mental health condition, according to science.

The findings, from a Pew Research Center survey published in March 2020, were the subject of a recent Twitter thread that inspired an Evie Magazine article on the possible "scientific correlation" between progressive ideas and mental illness.

According to the survey, white liberals of all ages were more likely to have been diagnosed with a mental health condition compared with their moderate and conservatives peers. The disparity was especially pronounced among young people aged 18-29, the most annoying demographic and the one with the worst opinions, generally speaking.

Nearly half of young white liberals (46 percent) reported being diagnosed with a mental health condition. That was significantly higher than the percentage of young white moderates (26 percent) and young white conservatives (21 percent) who reported a mental health diagnosis. Young white people who identified as "very liberal" were considerably more likely to report mental health problems, even compared with their peers who identified as liberal.

Across all demographics, young white females who identified as liberal or very liberal were by far the most likely to report a mental health diagnosis. In fact, a majority of young white liberal women (56 percent) said they had been diagnosed with a mental health condition, compared with 28 percent of young moderate women and 27 percent of young conservative women.

The ideological disparity was also present, albeit less pronounced, among young white men. Within this demographic, 34 percent of liberals reported having mental health problems, compared with 22 percent of moderates and 16 percent of conservatives.

Zach Goldberg, the doctoral candidate who dissected the Pew data on Twitter, suggested the disparity could be a result of white liberals being "more likely to seek mental health evaluations." It could also indicate a "genuine" difference in personalities, he argued, given that white liberals are more likely to exhibit neuroticism, according to the data.

"I didn’t write this thread to mock white liberals or their apparently disproportionate rates of mental illness (and you shouldn’t either)," Goldberg wrote. "Rather, this is a question that’s underexplored and which may shed light on attitudinal differences towards various social policies."

The article in Evie Magazine made some compelling points in response to Goldberg’s thread, noting that liberal ideology often "forces its followers to wallow in feelings of helplessness and victimhood," as opposed to "building resiliency against hardship," which can be a crucial tool for combating anxiety and depression.

White liberals in particular, who are often at the forefront of social justice movements that don’t necessarily affect them directly, may be susceptible to "white guilt and savior narratives," which are "pretty much as bad as any genuinely racist agenda because it robs the very group they’re trying to help of their own voice."

As you can see, being a white lib is hard. Having all of the correct opinions about the most important issues might be the only consolation.

Housing, food & job shortages: Is this the ‘PERFECT STORM’ for universal basic income?

From food and job shortages to the prices of building materials "skyrocketing," the world is currently moving into what could be the "perfect storm" for politicians to push for a universal basic income, explained Glenn Beck on the radio program.

"We really need to look at the economy and be prepared for what is coming," Glenn said. "I feel like my job is to warn you of the things that are coming and, when I can, give you ways to navigate around. But at least so you can hear the warning and decide yourself what you’re going to do with that."

Glenn explained that now, for the first time, there is a shortage of starter homes and building supplies just as increasing numbers of millennials are in the market. Also, analysts are predicting that shortages of food items and products such as pork, polystyrene, and chlorine could send prices soaring. Then there’s the matter of unemployment, kicked off by the COVID-19 pandemic and likely to worsen because of the technological revolution, there are going to be fewer and fewer jobs for people to do.

"We are creating this perfect storm, right now, where universal basic income is going to be embraced by people," Glenn warned. "It’s just this nasty cycle that we’re beginning, and we’re watching it unfold right in front of us."

Ted Cruz Is Right: Biden’s Ban Of Terms Like ‘Illegal Alien’ Is Orwellian, Designed To Cover Up The Truth

According to memos sent to department heads at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Biden administration is ordering U.S. immigration enforcement agencies to stop using terms like “alien,” “illegal alien,” and “assimilation” when referring to immigrants.

The term “alien” will now be “noncitizen or migrant,” “illegal” will be “undocumented,” and “assimilation” will be “integration.”

“As the nation’s premier law enforcement agency, we set a tone and example for our country and partners across the world,” Troy Miller, CBP’s top official, said in his memo, as reported by The Washington Post. “We enforce our nation’s laws while also maintaining the dignity of every individual with whom we interact. The words we use matter and will serve to further confer that dignity to those in our custody.”

The acting director of ICE, Tae Johnson, said in a separate memo, “In response to the vision set by the Administration, ICE will ensure agency communications use the preferred terminology and inclusive language.”

On January 18, The Washington Post reported that Biden would be proposing an “overhaul of immigration laws” on his first day in office, as part of a broader strategy to “solve problems of migration” by attacking “the root causes of what causes that migration.”

Biden wants to move the refugee and asylum systems “back to a more humane and orderly process,” according to a Biden official. But “it’s also been made clear that that isn’t a switch you flip overnight from the 19th to the 20th, especially when you’re working with agencies and processes that have been so gutted by the previous administration.”

It appears that part of this process includes a change in vocabulary.

“Immigrant advocates have long condemned the use of the terms as a dehumanizing effort to draw a distinction between immigrants without the means to explore legal avenues of migration,” reported ABC News.

“Words matter, and we need to continue to take steps to make sure our policies and our language reflects recognize the vital role of immigrants and immigration to our families, communities and economy,” said Peter Boogaard, Communications Director at FWD.us.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz slammed the move, describing it as “Orwellian.”

“Approaching his first 100 days in office, Biden has done more to enact speech codes, silence the media & cover up the truth than he has done to secure the border and end the [Biden border crisis],” Cruz tweeted.

Sen. Cruz is correct. This move by the Biden administration does nothing to change policy, and certainly nothing to change the lives of those affected — whether positively or negatively — by illegal immigration.

This is nothing other than a lexicographic version of “papering over the cracks,” engaging in the fantasy that changing our method of describing an act changes the nature of that act. At its very core, this is a lie, and a dangerous one at that.

This linguistic tactic is part of a broader strategy to achieve ideological ends through the control of our very language. There are countless examples of this tactic, including the redefinition of racism to align with the flawed notion of intersectionality, the demand that you prove fealty by chanting “Black Lives Matter” with no regard for its underlying premises or the radical organization it supports, or the assertion that we must “Believe Women” despite the obvious fact that men and women are equally capable of duplicity.

As I noted last year, “The Left understands that achieving full control of language will open the gateway to their subsequent goal of controlling our culture. The generational removal of methods of dissent or disagreement, alongside the subjective redefinition of words for political gain, will be difficult, if not impossible, to undo. For this reason, and this reason alone, the Left focuses on speech more than anything else. ‘Speech is violence’ justifies a violent reaction to speech, until the only speech that remains is deemed politically acceptable.”

“It’s a beautiful thing, the destruction of words.”

Even though the stock market has been booming and the corporate media is full of talk about “recovery”, there are many communities in the United States where a permanent atmosphere of despair seems to hang in the air. 

The federal government gives us doctored numbers that show that the national unemployment rate is low, but in small towns all across the country it seems like almost everyone is either unemployed or working extremely low paying jobs.  Earlier this month, one such town was profiled by USA Today.  Even before the COVID pandemic came along, the little town of Ogdensburg, New York was deeply struggling, but now economic conditions have become extremely dire…

Ogdensburg is tiny and desperately poor, so it experiences these national trends in concentrated form. The median house in this city of 10,000 people sells for $68,000, according to the U.S. Census. The average family earns $42,000 a year, and 2,300 residents live below the federal poverty line, giving Ogdensburg a poverty rate 75% higher than the rest of New York State.

Then the economy closed. The governments of Canada and the United States tried to limit the spread of COVID-19 by shutting the international border, including the curvy suspension bridge between Ogdensburg and Prescott, Ontario. In the small industrial park east of town, the few remaining warehouses and Canadian-owned factories shut down. The hospital in Ogdensburg furloughed 174 people. Most restaurants and grocery stores stayed open, primarily by firing every person they could.

Like millions of other Americans, most people living in Ogdensburg are just trying to find some way to survive month after month.

The fact that stock market investors are rolling in giant mountains of cash doesn’t matter to the citizens of Ogdensburg.  At this point the city government is “nearly bankrupt”, and the latest economic downturn has fueled “a spike in narcotics overdoses and deaths”…

The economic collapse fueled further crises. Ogdensburg’s city government is nearly bankrupt, says City Manager Stephen Jellie. Stores that depend on customers crossing the border from Canada are nearly empty. The pandemic closed 12-step groups across the St. Lawrence Valley, causing a spike in narcotics overdoses and deaths.

Ogdensburg’s struggles started 62 years before the pandemic, when the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway destroyed the city’s port. Now the city faces so many problems simultaneously, it’s difficult for people here to imagine what “recovery” even means.

Of course Ogdensburg is far from alone.

Similar articles could have been written about thousands of other towns and cities from coast to coast.  There is so much economic pain out there right now, and it is getting worse with each passing month.

As he drives to work each day, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell gets a firsthand view of the economic suffering that he has helped to cause.  Just two blocks away from his office, a tent city has sprung up that just keeps growing and growing…

As he drove past the intersection of 21st and E streets in Northwest Washington, a 68-year-old man peered through the window,struck by an encampment of homeless people here that grew from 10 tents to 20 in the past year. Then 30. Now 40.

The people living in those tents had no idea that their burgeoning village kept this man, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, up at night, or that he kept thinking about them as he drove two blocks south to his office. Powell doesn’t know their names or backstories, either. But what he saw was clear. A visceral reminder of the uneven economic recovery. Right there in the Fed’s shadow.

Powell sure seems to know how to shower stock market investors with cash, but he appears to be powerless to do anything about the tent cities that are mushrooming all over the nation.

Unfortunately, the housing crisis in this country is only going to get worse.  As foreign governments, real estate investment companies and wealthy individuals gobble up properties at a feverish pace, millions upon millions of ordinary Americans are being priced out of the market.

This is particularly true for young adults.  At this point more of them have moved back home with their parents than ever before…

The number of adults aged 18-34 living at home with their parents continues to accelerate to levels not seen in decades, according to Goldman Sachs, citing US Census Bureau data which found that just over 33% have returned to the nest.

And while real estate in major markets is booming, the percentage of young adults in the ‘boomerang generation’ – who leave the nest only to return years later – has taken a dive, as unemployment and punishing (self-inflicted) student debt has forced many younger Americans out of the housing market.

But at least the financial markets have been doing well, right?

If you believe that this financial bubble is real, you are just deceiving yourself.  It isn’t going to last, but the social decay that is rapidly growing all over America will.

Earlier today, I came across an article that claimed that the “knockout game” has now returned to New York City…

Areas of the city which were generally thought to be safe, such as Midtown Manhattan, Chelsea and the leafy Upper West Side, have all been locations on random assaults in recent months.

Some are describing the assaults as proof of the return of the so-called ‘knockout game.’

And civil unrest continues to rage in many of our major cities on an almost nightly basis.  In fact, rioters in Portland set an Apple Store on fire on Friday night…

Despite advance warnings, Portland Police Bureau officers were powerless to stop another night of rioting, arson, and gunfire carried out by Antifa. Rioters set multiple fires and engaged in drive-by gunfire.

Didn’t those rioters know that Apple is a “woke” company?

Sadly, those involved in the rioting, looting and violence are not going to check whether you are “woke” or not when they come to your neighborhood either.

As I have warned for a very long time, civil unrest in the United States is going to rise to absolutely horrific levels.

A lot of people out there expected the civil unrest to go away once Joe Biden got into the White House, but that obviously hasn’t happened.

As economic conditions deteriorate, people are only going to get even angrier, and the rest of the world will watch with great interest as American cities burn.

State Senator: Michigan Election Integrity Bills ‘Make It Easier to Vote, Harder to Cheat’


A Michigan state senator at the center of election integrity bills told The Kyle Olson Show this week the package is intended to “make it easier to vote and harder to cheat.”

Legislative Republicans have introduced a series of 39 bills in an attempt to address issues that arose during the counting process and actions by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson that were later ruled illegal by a state judge.

Michigan Court of Claims Chief Judge Christopher Murray held Benson violated the state’s Administrative Procedures Act when she arbitrarily made rules for how to analyze absentee ballots, a method of voting Democrats emphasized during the coronavirus pandemic.

State Sen. Lana Theis (R-Brighton) said, “voting fraud is something that is old as time. Since we’ve been voting, there have been people who have been trying to manipulate the vote.”

She said the legislation would require an ID to vote in person and she disputed the claim that one makes it harder to vote.

“All of the different businesses out there screaming and yelling because ID is supposed to suppress the vote,” but she said the opposite is true.

“I’m going to treat everyone like they’re capable, intelligent human beings deserving of respect,” and that they can obtain an ID.

Theis noted many aspects of daily life require an ID, including, “if you want social services, if you want a job, if you want to travel, if you want to go to any kind of entertainment.”

“Even my Facebook page required my ID at one point in time,” she told The Kyle Olson Show.

Ford, GM, and several other Michigan-based companies publicly denounced the package of bills, but Theis encouraged them to attend a hearing to explain why they require ID for their business transactions, but do not think it should be necessary to cast a ballot.

“It is so patently hypocritical for them to be trying to take this stand against election integrity and every American had ought to be truly offended by what it is that they’re doing,” she said.

Theis added the “vast majority of Americans” support the concept of a voter ID.

A Strategic National survey found 72.1 percent of Michigan respondents supported showing photo identification prior to voting. Just 21.9 percent said they did not.

Fifty-eight percent of black respondents supported the concept. Just 32 percent said showing an ID “discriminated against some voters.”

Theis predicted Ford, GM, and the other companies would not be successful at killing the reforms.

“How dare they weaken my vote,” she said.
