LA Teachers’ Union Pushing Racial Division in Fight Over School Closures

The largest teachers’ union in Los Angeles is working to prove that the battle lines in the fight to reopen schools are defined by race, going as far as contacting parents who speak out in support of opening schools to ascertain their race. Miryam Qudrat, a Los Angeles parent of a middle schooler, says a …

HYPOCRITE: Stelter Slams Fox News as ‘Propagandist Machine’

On Friday, CNN’s Brianna Keilar and her Republican-loathing colleague, Brian Stelter, took turns bashing their competitor, Fox News Channel, for the crime of allowing  the expression of conservative thought. Abandoning even the pretense of being objective journalists, the two left-wing hosts condemned Fox executives and hosts for actually pledging to practice adversarial journalism and hold the new administration accountable.
Seemingly unaware that they work for one of the most liberal broadcast companies in the world, Stelter and Keilar audaciously derided Fox’s level of objectivity. Keilar began the awkward, Fox-obsessed segment by mocking the network’s coverage of former President Trump — whom she referred to as the network’s former “de facto executive producer.” Before introducing Stelter, Keilar played a series of selectively edited clips of Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson. The clips, many of which were taken completely out of context, depict Carlson reporting on topics that were critical of, then-candidate and now, President Biden.
Keilar quoted a statement that Fox’s CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, said to a group of investors when he was describing the current state of Fox’s ratings:
“Fox CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, son of Fox founder Rupert Murdoch, telling an investment group the network is now the loyal opposition to the Biden administration. Quoting Murdoch here, the main beneficiary of the Trump administration from a ratings point of view was MSNBC. That’s because they were the loyal opposition. That’s what our job is now with the Biden administration. You’ll see our ratings really improve, he said.”
Based on the quote that Keilar read aloud, it’s obvious that Murdoch’s decision is predicated on ratings — not politics.
Eager to rip on Fox, Stelter — literally sitting on the edge of his seat — began by slamming Carlson for purportedly having a close relationship with Murdoch. Stelter then claimed that FNC was becoming the “Tucker Carlson channel,” given the ratings dominance of Tucker Carlson Tonight.
Stelter, apparently forgetting who his employer is, then denounced Fox as a “propagandist machine”:
“So, this is all a ratings ploy. And it is very clear from the programming and the sources inside Fox who are speaking out about it. It is notable that Lachlan was speaking to investors saying, hey, the ratings are going to come back, the viewers are going to come home. And, to some extent, that’s starting to become true. But this is all about business, it’s all about profit. I think when people want to understand how this propaganda machine works, and when it doesn’t work, ultimately, it’s about Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch and how much money they can make from all of this.”
The Reliable Sources host concluded the segment by expressing his optimism in the fact that Murdoch’s more liberal son, James, may one day try to “come in and try to take over,” Fox News Channel. If that ever happens, he said, it “would be a kind of HBO-drama worthy moment.”

Shortly after Inauguration Day, NewsBuster’s Tim Graham highlighted Stelter being completely in the tank for the Biden administration, hailing White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s daily press briefings as "refreshing."
It’s also worth noting that, during the 2020 presidential campaign, CNN’s President, Jeff Zucker, was recorded saying that his staff shouldn’t “normalize” Trump’s behavior or rhetoric leading up to Election Day. Zucker also alluded that his employees should ignore stories that were unfavorable to Biden, such as the Hunter Biden laptop story that broke in the latter portion of the summer.
Competition is ubiquitous in virtually every industry — especially, cable news. However, it is extremely hypocritical for Keilar and Stelter to pretend as if their own network (CNN) doesn’t deliberately promulgate a far-left agenda. Before taking to the air to mock another network’s journalistic standards, Keilar and Stelter should remember who signs their paychecks.
The blatant hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness displayed by both Stelter and Keilar was brought to you, in part, by T-Mobile. Contact this advertiser and other via the Conservatives Fight Back page, conveniently linked here.

CNN Newsroom with Brianna Keilar
03/05/2021
1:30 PM Eastern
BRIANNA KEILAR: Fox, facing a ratings slump after its de facto executive producer lost the presidential election, is leaning even more heavily into its buffet of cultural-war cuisine. I know it’s about as predictable as someone singing "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" really badly on karaoke night. And it’s predictably hypocritical to boot. Case in point, back in June, this guy promised to do better.
[CUTS TO CLIPS OF FOX NEWS CHANNEL’S TUCKER CARLSON]
TUCKER CARLSON [06/30/2020]: Middle class families are the core of this country. They are the hope for the future, our only hope. And yet both parties have shamelessly abandoned them. Republicans pretend to be their champion. You know now that they are not. Instead of improving the lives of their voters, the party feeds them a steady diet of mindless, symbolic victories, partisan junk food designed to make them feel full even as they waste away. It is lunacy. We fall for it every time. And to the extent this show has participated in it, we apologize with deepest sincerity.
KEILAR: To the extent that his show participated in it? That’s all that his show is. And his apology for any role in serving up partisan junk food was followed up with more partisan junk food.
[CUTS TO VARIOUS CLIPS OF FOX NEWS CHANNEL’S TUCKER CARLSON]
TUCKER CARLSON [03/02/2021] So, it’s Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The Biden administration is refusing to celebrate. We are celebrating and we will tell you why, precisely. Which other holidays will they be cancelling? Obviously, July 4th will be first on the list.
TUCKER CARLSON [07/02/2020]: So why are people attacking Columbus’ statues? Well, who knows? You’re definitely not allowed to ask.
TUCKER CARLSON [06/29/2020]: So, have any of you eaten python? Some have! The python cowboy joins us next to explain. […] I mean, it goes without saying, it tastes like chicken so I’m not even going to ask you, but tell me how hard it is to hunt a python and how dangerous.
TUCKER CARLSON [02/19/2021]: And, of course, the curricula, in so many schools, has taken a much harder edge since that time—from the extreme left wing to the outright totalitarian.
TUCKER CARLSON [02/16/2021]: No, ladies and gentlemen, Jill Biden is not Joe’s caretaker. She isn’t his nurse. She’s his fully equal romantic partner.
TUCKER CARLSON [02/14/2021]: Jill Biden is not a doctor, no. Maybe in the same sense Dr. Pepper is. TUCKER CARLSON [03/01/2021]: So, we spent the last year hearing about a health crisis—the pandemic. But here are a lot of health crises. This may be the biggest one. Falling testosterone levels, which have completely reshaped our society, and fallen sperm counts which may make it impossible to continue the human race.
[…]
KEILAR: In January, Fox had its worst ratings in two decades, and now it’s going even further off the anti-truth rails in an effort to remedy that. Fox is going full Tucker, more outrageousness, more extreme opinion, and consider what that means. Tucker Carlson, who recently won a slander case filed against him, is not exactly a graduate from the Joe Friday School of Journalism. If you want just the facts, his show is certainly not the place to go. Just take a look at this. A federal judge wrote this opinion, last year, in a case that Carlson won, dismissing a defamation case against him. The judge in that case said Fox’s lawyers, quote, persuasively argued the general tenor of Carlson’s show should inform a viewer that Carlson is not stating actual facts about the topics he discusses, and is, instead, engaging in exaggeration and non-literal commentary. The judge said Fox was convincing as it made the case, quote, that given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer arrives with an appropriate amount of skepticism about the statements he makes, end quote. And yet, still, what he dishes out is what a huge chunk of the country is consuming as if it is the gospel. Clearly Carlson and Fox are, to quote Demi Lovato, sorry, not sorry. So this should come as no surprise. Fox CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, son of Fox founder Rupert Murdoch, telling an investment group the network is now the loyal opposition to the Biden administration. Quoting Murdoch here, the main beneficiary of the Trump administration from a ratings point of view was MSNBC. That’s because they were the loyal opposition. That’s what our job is now with the Biden administration. You’ll see our ratings really improve, he said. CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter is with me now. Well, I mean, transparency, at least, Brian?
BRIAN STELTER: Ha! I guess so. After 10, 15 years of this network claiming it’s just fair and balanced every time it’s turned further to the right. Now, the younger Murdoch is admitting what the network is all about. It is an anti-Democrat network. That’s the agenda. You know, the spin today, Brianna, as he was talking about the opinion shows, but the opinion shows are what define Fox News. All of the newscasts have been shrinking and the audience for those news programs has been shrinking as well. Fox viewers want the red meat provided by Tucker Carlson, and, by the way, who is Lachlan Murdoch’s closest friend or associate at Fox? It’s Tucker Carlson. The channel’s increasingly the Tucker Carlson channel! And that tells you everything you need to know about the Fox News playbook right now.
KEILAR: Yeah, look, we know there are a shrinking and small group of straight news journalists at Fox, but it is a small section of what is at Fox. They’re in the reporter ranks, they’re not the ones, in general, hosting shows. And increasingly, Fox is moving into what the prime time has made them – you know, has made them into. Murdoch admitted that the Fox audience, Brian, is disappointed in the election results. How much does that factor into this strategy moving forward and the Fox lineup?
STELTER: That is the big story. That is the major factor. The Fox audience does not want to hear bad news about Republicans, does not want to hear good news about Democrats. So, this is all a ratings ploy. I think when people want to understand how this propaganda machine works, and when it doesn’t work, ultimately, it’s about Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch and how much money they can make from all of this. You know, Brianna, there is another Murdoch son, James Murdoch. He’s on the outside; he’s much more liberal. He is disgusted by the Tucker Carlson’s of the world, but, right now, he’s not involved. He’s buying his time, wondering if someday he might be able to come in and try to take over. That would be a kind of HBO-drama worthy moment. But, so far, there is no sign of that. Right now, this channel is moving further and further to the right, to the point that I had one source at Fox say to me, I feel like we’ve gone so far right we’ve fallen over.
KEILAR: Yeah, I mean, look, Tucker Carlson 2020 has a problem with what Tucker Carlson 2021 is doing, so that tells you something. Um, Brian Stelter, thank you so much. Great to see you.

‘I haven’t felt proud to be a member of the media’: Longtime journalist explains decision to leave news media

Kari Lake, who has been an anchor with Phoenix’s Fox 10 for 22 years, recently went viral for a video she posted explaining her decision to leave the news media behind.

"In the last few years, I haven’t felt proud to be a member of the media. I’m sure there are other journalists out there who feel the same way," she said in the video. "I found myself reading news copy that I didn’t believe was fully truthful, or only told part of the story, and I began to fear that I was contributing to the fear and division in this country by continuing on in this profession. It’s been a serious struggle for me and I no longer want to do this job anymore."

Lake joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Friday to discuss her decision, how newsrooms can better diversify, and where our nation is headed next.

Teachers Union President Claims Union Has Been ‘Trying to Reopen’ Since April. Here’s What Actually Happened.

The president of the nation’s most powerful teacher’s union claimed Thursday that her union has been “trying to reopen schools” so children can resume in-person classes since April of 2020, when pandemic lockdowns were in full force. “Sorry, you know I get very angry about this. My union has been trying to reopen schools since last […]

No Wonder Democrats Are Delaying Everything Related to the 2020 Election – Irregular Ballots from the 2020 Election in Arizona Can be Destroyed Six Months After the Election

Jovan Pulitzer reported today that we may not have as much time as expected to audit the ballots from the 2020 election in Arizona.  In fact, we are only months away.

Jovan Pulitzer has a process where he believes he can identify invalid ballots from the 2020 election based on paper, ink, layout, and folds in ballots recorded in the election.  His work is expected to produce an inventory of invalid ballots and then determine the final results from the election based on valid ballots.

Pulitzer shared this morning:

But you want to know a little inside bit?  If you read the subpoenas and if you read this motion to compell, or whatever.  Did you know the irregular ballots are able to be gotten rid of and destroyed within six months from the election.  There is cause to dispose of them, why do you think all the delay in tactics?  A little bit of truth I just thought you should know.

It’s time to move forward and perform a legitimate audit of the results in Arizona.

Baltimore Student Who Failed All But Three Classes In Four Years Was Ranked In Top Half Of His Class

Baltimore Student Who Failed All But Three Classes In Four Years Was Ranked In Top Half Of His Class

Authored by Jonathan Turley,

As teacher unions fight to keep schools closed, the true cost is being felt by students who are racking up failing gradesdropping out of virtual classesincreasing drug use, and, in rising numbers, committing suicide In response, some union officials like the President of the Los Angeles Teacher’s Union has labelled calls to return to class examples of white privilege despite overwhelming science supporting resumption of classes. However, for minority students, this shutdown has taken a dire situation and turned into a freefall disaster. The pandemic led to the closure of an already failing public school system, as evident in a shocking story out of Baltimore. As recently reported, a high school student almost graduated near the top half of his class after failing every class but three in four years. He has a 0.13 GPAHis mother finally went public in exasperation with the failures in the public schools.

Tiffany France is understandably upset. She is a mother of three who works three jobs to support her family. She was never told that her son failed 22 classes and was late or absent 272 days over his first three years of high school. She was called for only one teacher-student meeting and that meeting never occurred at Augusta Fells Savage Institute of Visual Arts.

France ultimately had to pull her son out of the school and enrolled him in an accelerated program to allow him to graduate in 2023.

For decades, we have spent huge amounts of money in school districts like Washington, D.C. and Baltimore as these cities and their leaders have failed to address these failures. We have had a lost generation of kids who have neither the education nor the trained skills to succeed in society. Yet, there is no accountability for the political and educational leaders in these cities.

In the meantime, school officials seem intent on driving top performing students from their systems in Boston, New York and other cities where advanced programs are being shutdown or suspended. Mayor Bill deBlasio proclaimed that public schools are a means to redistribute wealth as students continue to fail on every level in the system.  Other education officials have denounced “meritocracy” as racist.  These officials, including a recent congressman, attack standardized tests as racist rather than make real progress to improve performance on such tests for these children.

The top spending public school districts are also some of the worst performing school districts.  New York topped the per capita spending at $24,040 per kid. Washington, D.C. is close at $22,759.  Baltimore is often ranked in the top three per capita spending districts.

According to a 2019 study, over half of the New York City public schoolkids cannot handle basic math or English.  On tests, Asian kids shows a  74.4 percent proficiency in math with a 66.6 proficiency for whites, a 33.2 percent proficiency for Hispanics, and a 28.2 percent proficiency for African Americans.  Thus, more than two third of African American kids were not able to handle basic math in a school system with one of the highest per capita expenditures for students in country. Thus, public schools may be a vehicle for deBlasio to “redistribute wealth” but he is not distributing education or learning to those who need it the most.

In Washington, with the highest per capita spending on students, education officials “celebrated” a small improvement of scores in 2019. However, the scores would make most people cringe.  Only 21.1 percent of black students were proficient in math (as opposed to 78.8 percent for white students).

In Wisconsin, the 2019 scores (for students in grades 3 to 8 and grade 11) showed only 39.3% of students tested proficient or better in English/language and only 40.1% demonstrated a proficient or better understanding of math. Both showed drops. However, the racial disparity was particularly shocking. Ironically, the gap slightly narrowed due to white students declining in scores. However, in the eighth grade, only 12.1 percent of black students were proficient or advanced in English. There was still as 30 point gap for black students.

In the meantime, the pandemic has led to delays, reductions, or outright cancellations of standardized testing in many districts. So now students will not be going full-time to school and also not be tested on their proficiency in subjects in some districts. It is as if they did not exist, which is precisely the problem. Politically, they do not seem to register in terms of importance or influence. They are useful objects for politicians who use them for campaigns for more money or power. Yet, they seem utterly detached from any actual benefits as these leaders allow public schools to continue on the same course of proven failure.

Watching this happen to the public schools has been particularly hard for many of us who are ardent supporters of public education. Growing up in Chicago during the massive flight of white families from the public school system, I remained in public schools for much of my early education. My parents organized a group to convince affluent families remain in the system. They feared that, once such families left, the public schools would not only loose diversity but political clout and support. They also wanted their kids to benefit from such diversity. My wife and I also believe in that cause and we have kept our four kids in public schools through to college.  We believe public education plays a key role in our national identity and civics. They shape our next generation of citizens.  My children have benefitted greatly from public schools and the many caring and gifted teachers who have taught them through the years.

Reading accounts like that of Tiffany France is a disgrace. She is working three jobs and counting on the school system to give her three children and education . . . and a chance.  Yet, Baltimore and other cities have failed such children for decades. There is no accountability in the system.  These leaders are failing whole generations and leaving them to an endless cycle of poverty and crime. Yet, they are reelected or reappointed every year. Educational leaders demand more money but show little progress or success. The money evaporates and nothing seems to change for Tiffany France or her children.

The problem is not standardized testing. It is the lack of education where a student with below a 1.0 GPA could qualify for cum laude recognition in Baltimore. Decades and billions of dollars have been exhausted without significant improvement. However, the real cost of our failure is born by these students who find little solace in knowing that their per capita expenditures continue to rise as their scores continue to fall. If we ran our highway system like this, we would have billion-dollar gravel roads for highways. In our education system, we are spending billions but kids like Tiffany’s son are going nowhere fast.

Trump-Hating Backstabber Paul Ryan Will Hold Fundraiser for Never-Trumper Liz Cheney

For years Paul Ryan lied to President Trump and his voters.
Paul Ryan lied about funding a wall. He continued to fight hard for the globalist agenda even after President Trump shocked the elites with his huge election win in 2016.

Even after he left office Paul Ryan continues to attack President Trump.

Skunk Paul Ryan Is “Embarrassed” by Trump, Pushes FOX News to Break from President

And news broke today that Paul Ryan will hold a fundraiser for Liz Cheney next month.

Liz Cheney is an obsessed Trump-hater who voted to impeach President Trump in January and continues to attack him at every opportunity.

Now she has Paul Ryan in her corner.

Via Conservative Treehouse:

According to information obtained by Breitbart News, former House Speaker Paul Ryan is coming to the defense of Liz Cheney and will host a fundraiser on her behalf next month.

Not surprisingly, this will provide an opportunity for the K-Street lobbying multinationals to provide revenue for Ms. Cheney to defend her tenuous House seat from primary challengers who are lined up to take her out.

BREITBART – Former House Speaker Paul Ryan will hold a fundraiser for embattled House GOP Conference chairwoman Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) at the end of March, an invitation obtained by Breitbart News shows.

The fundraiser, a “virtual event,” is slated for Thursday, March 25 at 11 a.m. eastern. The invitation asks donors to give “suggested contributions” of $2,900 to “attend,” or $5,800 to be a “co-host” of the Ryan-Cheney event.

[…] Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, is now facing challenges from state Sen. Anthony Bouchard and a newly announced candidate state Rep. Chuck Gray. Polling in the race shows Cheney in serious trouble, and likely headed for an eventual loss. Republicans across the party have repeatedly attacked her by name, and ripped her aggressively in interviews and speeches at CPAC. Her standing in the party is diminishing quickly, much like Ryan’s did after a year plus as Speaker during Trump’s presidency. (more)

Liberals melt down on Twitter over video of Sen. Sinema’s thumbs-down vote against the minimum wage hike

Liberals who were hoping that Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona might vote in support of a minimum wage hike were disappointed and many angrily turned to social media to register their outrage.

The openly bisexual senator is also a moderate Democrat on many issues owing to the demographics of the state she represents. On Friday she voted alongside 7 other Democrats to kill the proposal from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to include the wage hike in the latest coronavirus relief package.

Sinema’s critics were especially outraged because of the way she entered her vote.

Did Sinema really have vote against a $15 minimum wage for 24 million people like this? https://t.co/Jv0UXLKLHI

— Sawyer Hackett (@Sawyer Hackett) 1614971844.0

"Kyrsten Sinema is the most vapid Democratic politician to come along in quite a while. Her shtick of funky hair and bright clothing as a mask for her apparent sociopathy is downright horrifying," tweeted Emma Vigeland, a progressive commentator.

— Emma Vigeland (@Emma Vigeland) 1614977442.0

"Sinema just jauntily gave the middle finger to tens of millions of low wage workers," tweeted another critic.

"Kyrsten Sinema giving the $15 minimum wage a ‘Gladiator’ style thumbs down would’ve been a left twitter joke a week ago," tweeted Ken Klippenstein, a reporter at The Intercept.

"No matter what you think of @kyrstensinema’s vote, these optics are horrible," tweeted journalist Yashar Ali. "You may think people don’t deserve to be paid more, but you don’t need to make a show of it."

Others were incensed that Sinema had brought a large chocolate cake into the Senate and compared her to Marie Antoinette, the historical figure known for a similar act.

"Incredible. On the day that she votes to block a raise in the minimum wage for 32 million working class Americans, @kyrstensinema not only walks into the Senate with a big chocolate cake but posts on FB about a future getaway to Bora Bora. ‘Let them eat cake,’ indeed," tweeted progressive activist Kai Newkirk.

"Kyrsten Sinema is an out-bi Senator but a closeted Conservative and wannabe Marie Antoinette," tweeted another critic.

"She’s decided she’s going to be a media darling as Marie Antoinette of the establishment. Dress in a super fun way, do performatively hip thumbs downs as she votes to kill higher wages & now rub it in with symbolic cake we can all eat instead of higher salaries," tweeted failed congressional candidate Cenk Uygur.

It turned out that Sinema had brought the cake for Senate staff who had to work through the night over a request by a Republican senator.

Sinema explained in a statement after the vote that she would support a raise in the minimum wage but not the inclusion of it in the coronavirus relief bill.
