There is another bloodletting coming at ESPN and according to reports, it could be ugly.
The one-time top name in sports is still paying dearly for a disastrous move into liberal and racial politics that has gotten progressively worse as black employees continue to use their network forum to express their displeasure with President Donald Trump.
Perhaps the most egregious example is black identity extremist SportsCenter hostess Jemele Hill who took to Twitter on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks to blast Trump as a “white supremacist” in what was a clear violation of the network’s social media policy.
Hill managed to get off with a slap on the wrist but was later suspended for calling for a boycott against the Dallas Cowboys after owner Jerry Jones threatened to bench any players who did not stand for the national anthem.
It is exactly due to people like Ms. Hill that the network has been hemorrhaging viewers and the grim reaper is once again preparing to make his rounds.

The Sporting News is reporting “Sources: ESPN heading for more painful layoffs”:
More bad news could be on the horizon for ESPN. Staffers at the Worldwide Leader in Sports are bracing for another possible round of layoffs late this year, multiple sources tell Sporting News.
The next round of cutbacks could come down in late November or early December, with 40-60 positions potentially being impacted, according to sources. The layoffs could hit both on-air TV/radio talent and behind-the-scenes production staffers.
“This time it won’t matter if you’re ‘liked’ or not. It’s not going to be pretty,” one source warned.
Another source expects the flagship “SportsCenter” franchise to lose people in front of and behind the camera. “I see (ESPN) going down a path where they have less staff — and hire more production companies to provide programs and fill air time.”
ESPN declined to comment.
It would greatly behoove ESPN as well as burnish its now tarnished brand if the layoffs were to include Ms. Hill and other race-baiters.
Former baseball superstar turned broadcaster Curt Schilling was kicked off the network for much less than Hill and that firing only served to confirm the extreme liberal bias at ESPN.
Showing the door to Hill and any of her African-American allies who reportedly threatened to revolt if she was disciplined for her racist comments directed at the President of the United States would be the first step in what should be a total housecleaning to oust political activists and get back to covering sports which is what ESPN became famous for in the first place.

CNN is airing a bizarre new advertisement with the motto “Facts First,” which insists that the network calls an apple an apple, even if critics of its “news” reporting argue it’s a banana. You see, CNN is interested in objective truth, not opinions. This would be like McDonald’s advertising with an apple and saying the company is all about health food.
Our “news” networks don’t deal with facts first. They sell us narratives, and the favorite is the wild speculation about what might happen next to President Trump. For months, they have speculated about how meetings with powerful Russians would be the end of Trump. From Jan. 20 to Oct. 20, the Media Research Center reports, the ABC, CBS and NBC evening-news shows alone gave that story just over 1,000 minutes.
But Obamacare? Budget and taxes? Immigration? A possible nuclear war with North Korea? All are second bananas. It’s Trump-Russia, Russia-Trump day in and day out.
The Russia narrative they prefer is this: Donald Trump won the presidency due to the help of an autocratic foreign power. But in the last week, a series of investigative reports by The Hill have brought something altogether new to the discussion: facts. And the facts are implicating former President Obama’s administration, specifically Hillary Clinton, in some astonishingly unethical, if not illegal, behavior with the Russians. The publication reported:
–Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery and extortion before the Obama administration approved the sale of Uranium One to Russia, a company that controls 20 percent of America’s uranium supply. They routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit The Clinton Foundation during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state and helped provide a favorable uranium decision to Moscow.
–In preparation for collecting a $500,000 speech payment in Moscow in 2010, former President Bill Clinton sought State Department clearance to meet with a key official of the Russian nuclear energy firm Rosatom, which still needed the Obama team’s approval for on the uranium deal. Instead, Clinton met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the autocrat’s private homestead.
–Obama’s Justice Department prevented an American businessman who worked undercover for years as an FBI confidential witness from telling Congress about transactions and conversations he witnessed regarding the Russian nuclear industry’s efforts to win the favor of Team Obama and the Clintons.
–The FBI identified a Russian spy ring’s attempt in 2009 and 2010 to infiltrate Hillary Clinton’s inner circle through a donor friend in order to spy on the State Department. Agents arrested and deported the female spy before anything could happen.
Countless other publications assert that nine investors in Uranium One jointly donated a cool $145 million to the Clinton Foundation.
This reads like a fascinating spy novel, but ABC and NBC have offered nothing. Let that sink in. CBS aired one question (and one answer) on “Face the Nation” that lasted 69 seconds. CNN, which has spent hour after hour obsessing over Russian collusion with Trump, can hardly be bothered with this narrative.
That’s “Facts First” — media style.
Naturally, the usual dishonest Clinton defense emerged: This was “old news.” When author Peter Schweizer wrote about this issue in 2015 (without the new developments), he was virtually ignored. And if he was interviewed, hostile treatment is an understatement. Here’s how NBC’s Savannah Guthrie dealt with “facts” back then. She asked Schweizer: “Before we get into some of the details, let’s put it bluntly: Are you hoping that this book and the issues you raise in it torpedo her candidacy?” He said no, but she shot back: “a lot of your critics say, ‘Look, you are a conservative and that this is a right-wing hit job.’ Are you really claiming to be neutral here?”
No one is neutral in the pro-Clinton press corps. Facts never come first.

On October 5, a vigilant Las Vegas resident, Justin Pearson, noticed a BMW zooming through his neighborhood and abruptly stopping in front of a neighbor’s house where a 6-year-old boy was playing in the front yard. As Pearson watched in horror, the driver quickly hopped out of the vehicle and grabbed the boy.
While the kidnapper’s height was similar to his own (over 6 feet), Pearson could see that the man had a much larger build — Pearson would not be able to take him on pound for pound.
As the Las Vegas Journal Review notes, “Fortunately, Pearson had a trump card — a Heckler & Koch VP9 pistol legally resting on his right hip.”
Mr. Pearson has a concealed carry permit and said he has used his firearm once before. Years ago, he drew his weapon when a would-be robber pulled a knife on his friend. Pearson said, “I quickly drew my firearm, and the kid ran away.”
This time, Justin did not even have to unholster his gun; he simply brandished it, and in that action, he prevented a young boy from being kidnapped.
He shouted at the kidnapper and showed him his holstered gun. The distraction gave the young boy enough time to jump out of the car.
“If I didn’t have a firearm, I don’t think there’s much I could have done,” Pearson said.
It took local police 17 minutes to arrive on the scene. A Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman confirmed to the Review Journal the details of Mr. Pearson’s story and revealed that the would-be kidnapper was the biological father who did not have parental rights to take the child.
Most kidnappings in the United States are committed by someone who is known to the abductee. Most Amber Alerts that are issued in the state of California tend to involve parental abduction of a child.
Our law enforcement is out there daily putting their lives on the line for our protection, but they are often understaffed and underresourced. It is chilling to think that in a well-populated metro area, police response time could be as long as 17 minutes. How far could a kidnapper get in 17 minutes?
As Katie Pavlich notes in her latest video for PragerU, it took police 7 minutes to respond to former The View cohost Sherri Sheperd’s home when her alarm went off. Women in particular are vulnerable to potential threats, which, as Pavlich argues, is why “gun rights are women’s rights.”
In Los Angeles, where I live, the LAPD chief recently said that the average response time was 5.7 minutes instead of last year’s 6.2 minutes. I don’t know about you, but if a bad guy is breaking into my house, or pulling up to my front yard where my child is playing, 5 minutes to wait for the police to arrive is 5 minutes too long.

White Privilege is not the cause of the plague of racism. Black Entitlement is not its cure. Slavery was not its source.
Without identifying where racism comes from and where it resides still, we are doomed to forever suffer its ills. The targeting of White Privilege at our universities and in the media for the perceived lack of sufficient guilt and recompense for the slavery of 150 years ago is a damaging misdirection of the truth.
Slavery is wrong. We know that. But slavery was never about race.
No matter the color of the finger that points, the slave owning European settlers did not introduce slavery to North America in 1619. Those who lived here prior to the founding of Jamestown, Virginia warred against, dispossessed of their land, maimed, murdered, captured, and enslaved other Native Americans. All before (White) Europeans arrived.
After they arrived, the system of slavery in our country had three components. First was demand. That came primarily from Southern plantations. Second was the supply, made valuable by that demand. The shipping industry provided the pipeline. Third was the source, Africa. But those slaves brought over from Africa were not the spoils of an army that invaded and captured. Slave-trading middlemen bought them from other slave traders — from Africans who sold Africans — transported them across the Atlantic, and resold them back in the Americas.
As despicable as it was, it was not about race.
Nor was slavery new to the rest of the world when practiced on our continent before, during, and after 1619. The great Giza pyramids of Egypt, built in part by slave labor, were constructed between 2589 BC and 2504 BC. Egyptians (Africans) used slaves (other Africans) to build those wonders of the ancient world. That was more than 4,000 years before the Europeans settled here.
Should we pull down those slave-built pyramids?
Nor did the Egyptians invent slavery. It existed in the Near, Middle, and Far East as far back as history is known. It is older than the world’s oldest profession and nearly as old as mankind’s oldest sins. In the Book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, Joseph is sold into slavery by his brothers — brothers of the same father, the same skin, the same blood. It wasn’t about race.
There exists for many an understanding of human self-awareness that includes not just what we do, but what we ought to do. Does the fact of our outrage against racism identify humans as inherently moral creatures? For if we are not living in a moral universe, this conversation need never happen. Does our failure to achieve the moral standards to which the best of us aspire define us then not as amoral, but rather broken, fallen, as yet incomplete?
For those of the Christian faith and countless others, Right and Wrong do exist. That standard, what we ought to do, succinctly expressed 2000 years ago in the Second Great Commandment of Jesus, is we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Violation of that commandment shackles our hearts and chokes off our life’s blood; it is the root of evil across all the history of mankind. The violation of that commandment, when based on race, is the source of racism.
Blaming slave owners long dead will not end racism in America. Attacking some based on the color of their skin or entitling others based on the color of theirs, not only doesn’t end racism, it super-charges it. We have no hope to end racism by switching goal posts and end zones like half time in a football game and to then continue the game, only using a different score card.
It is our rejection of the Second Great Commandment that condemns us to suffer racism, one of a myriad of evils which 40 years ago were called man’s inhumanity to man. The only way to end racism is for each of us to embrace that great injunction and its source and to do so now, in this lifetime — for eternity is only a heartbeat away.

The lawyer for the unnamed FBI informant who blew the whistle on bribery, kickbacks and blackmail from Russian nuclear officials told a Washington-area radio station that the Obama administration threatened “his reputation and liberty” if he did not drop a lawsuit against the government to void an agreement that required him to keep quiet about his activities in the investigation.
According to The Daily Caller, as of Wednesday, the informant has been released from the agreement by the Trump administration.
That move would pave the way for the informant to testify before Congress about what he knew regarding Russian attempts to gain control of America’s uranium resources.
In a Thursday appearance on WMAL’s “Mornings on the Mall,” attorney Victoria Toensing said her client — an informant within Uranium One between 2009 and 2014 — was threatened into dropping the lawsuit by the Obama administration’s FBI and Department of Justice.
“The Russians have threatened him, and up until just last, night the U.S. government has threatened him,” Toensing said.

“He was told that if he didn’t dismiss the case his reputation and liberty were in jeopardy.”
While the FBI was investigating claims that the Russians had acted illegally to gain a foothold in the U.S. uranium mining and supply market, the Obama administration still signed off on the partial sale of Uranium One to Russian nuclear giant Rosatom in 2010, giving Kremlin-controlled companies access to 20 percent of the U.S. nuclear supply.
The bribery story burst onto the public scene when a report in The Hill revealed that the FBI knew about the illegal activity at the time of the sale. Of particular interest to congressional Republicans is then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s role in signing off on the deal, particularly given ties between officials related to Uranium One and donations made to the Clinton Foundation.
What’s more, Toensing has said her client’s information ended up in the president’s daily intelligence briefings, according to The Hill.
“On at least two occasions, my client was told by his FBI agent handlers that information about the Russian nuclear bribery scheme he uncovered had been briefed to President Obama and that agents were keeping then-FBI Director Robert Mueller informed as well,” Toensing said earlier this week.
“One of the briefings occurred before the Obama administration approved the Uranium One deal in fall 2010.
“While he has not first-hand knowledge of what was in the president’s daily briefings, he was told unequivocally by the agents that information from the bribery case had been shared with the president and other senior officials and was given praise for providing that evidence,” she added.
Now, the Senate Judiciary Committee, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the House Intelligence Committee all want to meet with this informant — and things are going to get very interesting.
After all, it isn’t just that the Obama administration knew the Russians were meddling. According to this informant’s lawyer, they blackmailed the person who knew that they knew into total silence.

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, long controversial among Republicans for his slow response to investigating the IRS targeting scandal, will be replaced by Treasury Department tax official David Kautter, who was appointed by the president as acting commissioner Thursday.
According to Fox News, Kautter will replace Koskinen when the IRS commissioner’s term expires on Nov. 13.
“I look forward to having David Kautter as acting commissioner of the IRS. David will provide important leadership while we wait to confirm a permanent commissioner,” Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said in a statement, according to the Washington Examiner.
“Assistant Secretary Kautter has had an illustrious 40-year career in tax policy, and I am confident that the IRS and the American people will benefit from his experience and insight.”
Kautter will serve in both positions until the Senate confirms a replacement for Koskinen.

IRS commissioners serve five-year terms at the pleasure of the president. While Koskinen was eligible for reappointment, as The Daily Caller notes, that was never a legitimate possibility given his extreme unpopularity among Republicans.
Koskinen was brought into the IRS in the aftermath of the targeting scandal, in which Tea Party groups were singled out by the department for audits solely due to their political beliefs.
The commissioner was widely seen as protecting the IRS and stalling investigations into the scandal — in particular into Lois Lerner, the IRS official most closely linked with the targeting.
According to The Hill, Lerner “was placed on leave in 2013, shortly after she publicly acknowledged the agency’s improper handling of the applications” of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. She then retired from the IRS. Two years later, former President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice announced that it would not file criminal charges against her.
Congressional Republicans mounted an effort to impeach Koskinen last year, but failed. Earlier this year, fifteen Republican members of the House Ways and Means Committee, led by Texas Rep. Kevin Brady, called on Trump to fire the commissioner.
“I have lost all faith in Commissioner Koskinen’s ability to lead the IRS,” Brady said, according to the Washington Examiner.
“He has been dishonest with Congress, and the IRS — under his watch — has continuously violated taxpayer rights. He has to go.”
The exhortations of the Ways and Means Committee, alas, were not enough to convince the president to send Koskinen packing. However, with Thursday’s appointment, conservatives made it clear he won’t be missed.
Koskinen’s departure won’t completely erase the disgrace of the IRS scandal, or its impact on the conservative groups that were targeted by Obama’s minions. But it could well be the beginning of getting justice from agency’s corruption.
“We’re glad to see him go,” said Jason Pye, vice president of legislative affairs at the conservative group Freedomworks. “He did not earn his salary or his big pension.”

Finally! Tea Party groups that were targeted by Barack Obama’s IRS have vindication. But you wouldn’t know it, if you got your news from the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks.
On Thursday, the Department of Justice agreed to settle two lawsuits from conservative organizations. American Center for Law and Justice attorney Jay Sekulow hailed it as “an precedented victorious conclusion to our years-long legal battle against the IRS, the bureaucratic agency has just admitted in federal court that it wrongfully targeted Tea Party and conservative groups during the Obama Administration,” and added: “The IRS is consenting to a court order that would prohibit it from ever engaging in this form of unconstitutional discrimination in the future.”
While the liberal Washington Post (page A3) and New York Times (page A18) covered the momentous decision in their Friday print editions, the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks have yet to mention the settlement. Sadly, it’s not surprising as the networks haven’t covered the IRS-Tea Party scandal in almost three years.
It’s been nearly three years (1,087 days to be exact) since any network reported on the IRS scandal, when CBS This Morning made a mention of it on October 28, 2014. NBC last noted the targeting scandal 1112 days ago and it’s been a whopping 1258 days since ABC last mentioned it on the May 8, 2014 Good Morning America.
In that period of time there have been multiple revelations which have gone unreported by the networks, including Barack Obama’s Justice Department ending its investigation without any criminal charges filed against Lois Lerner, and the subsequent announcement that the House had begun procedures to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. Also unreported: the discoveries that Lerner used another personal e-mail account to conduct government business that utilized the alias “Toby Miles” and called Republicans “evil and dishonest.”
Speaking of Koskinen, on Thursday The Washington Examiner reported that he is finally being replaced. Of course, the networks didn’t bother to report this piece of big news either.
Also not reported by the networks? Another incriminating e-mail. According to the October 25 Washington Times: “an email from an IRS agent to her supervisors alerting them that the agency was, in fact, singling out some groups’ applications for extreme scrutiny ‘primarily because of their political party affiliation.’”

The Justice Department has reached settlement agreements with groups that alleged their constitutional rights were violated when their applications for tax-exempt status received extra scrutiny because their names contained words such as “tea party” or “patriots,” court filings show.
In one agreement, which still must be approved by a judge, the Internal Revenue Service admitted that its treatment of the organizations was “wrong” and expressed a “sincere apology” for what happened.
The Justice Department and those suing agreed they would dismiss the case with a judge’s declaration that it was illegal to unevenly apply tax laws based on an organization’s name or particular political viewpoint.
The targeting of tea party organizations that applied for tax-exempt status was a major controversy of the Obama administration, with hundreds of conservative-leaning groups receiving scrutiny. In some cases, it delayed the processing of applications for years.
Many felt the conduct was an example of the president punishing his political enemies.
In a statement, Attorney General Jeff Sessions took aim at his predecessors — noting it was “during the last administration” that officials began using “inappropriate criteria,” such as groups’ names or policy positions, to screen applications. He said the criteria “disproportionately impacted conservative groups.”
“There is no excuse for this conduct,” Sessions said. “Hundreds of organizations were affected by these actions, and they deserve an apology from the IRS. We hope that today’s settlement makes clear that this abuse of power will not be tolerated.”
