China Practicing Bombing Runs Towards US Island of Guam

A report from Defense News Tuesday revealed that the Chinese have been practicing bombing runs against the island of Guam, a key American territory and military outpost in the Pacific.

The news came as part of a briefing by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford, who described the escalating threat from the Chinese in Pacific and called the country a bigger threat than North Korea.

The threat goes far beyond the man-made islands of the South China Sea, which have been a hotspot of military buildup as of late.

Defense News reported that U.S. military officials said that “China has built up its fleet of fighters to the extent that it operates a daily, aggressive campaign to contest airspace over the East China Sea, South China Sea and beyond.”

“The (People’s Republic of China) is practicing attacks on Guam,” officials said, noting that Chinese H-6K Badger Bombers upgraded with extended-range cruise missiles run “not infrequent” missions around Guam.

It’s not just Guam that China is challenging, either; CNBC reported Chinese bombers routinely fly in the vicinity of Hawaii.

Dunford told reporters that’s just part of why China “is very much the long-term challenge in the region.”

In contrast with North Korea, which Dunford has called “a fight we can win,” he worries “about the way things are going” when it comes to Beijing and its military designs on the region.

“When we look at the capabilities China is developing, we’ve got to make sure we maintain the ability to meet our alliance commitments in the Pacific,” Dunford said.

It’s not just the United States that’s feeling the pinch from China’s military moves, either. Japan has had to scramble 900 flights this year as China has continually challenged Japan’s air defense identification zone. In 2013, Beijing issued borders for its own air defense identification zone, which overlapped with Japan’s.

That means Chinese and Japanese military aircraft are coming close to each other on a daily basis, officials said. And that could lead to conflict.

The strategy is to “win without fighting” by consolidating gains like the militarized islands in the South China Sea and normalizing incursions into or near foreign airspace. In his remarks, Dunford seemed to send a message such tactics wouldn’t fly with Washington.

“We view ourselves as a Pacific power,” Dunford said.

“There are some who try to create a narrative that we are not in the Pacific to stay,” he added. “Our message is that we are a Pacific power. We intend to stay in the Pacific. Our future economic prosperity is inextricably linked to our security and political relationships in the region.”

And that’s a message China needs to hear.

Bozell & Graham Column: The Fusion of Reporting and ‘Oppo’

On October 24, The Washington Post reported that Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee hired the opposition research firm Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Donald Trump. The firm then retained former British intelligence operative Christopher Steele, who assembled a dubious dossier (complete with prostitute rumors) from his Russian contacts.

Breaking news? Hardly. It’s all but disappeared.

This, in one compact story, should have seriously undermined months of wildly speculative reporting on the Trump campaign seeking dirt on Hillary Clinton from the Russians, with the Democrats warning of “treason.” Even with the Manafort indictment, there’s still not a scintilla of evidence of Russia-Trump collusion. But looking like hypocrites, indulging deeply in a double standard, never slows these “news” reporters down.

The Daily Caller hints at a deeper angle, and it calls into question the media’s sermons on transparency.

CNN’s justice correspondent Evan Perez hyped this dossier assembled by Fusion GPS, but Perez and CNN never told viewers that Perez worked closely for years with the founders of this firm in a previous job.

Glenn Simpson, the Fusion co-founder “most often associated with the dossier,” worked on the same reporting staff as Perez at The Wall Street Journal. They regularly co-authored stories.

Peter Fritsch, another Fusion co-founder, worked above Simpson and Perez as the Journal’s senior national security editor.

A third co-founder, Tom Catan, was also a Journal reporter in the same time frame. The Caller showed Facebook photos of these men still going to baseball games and fishing vacations together.

CNN’s anti-Trump stories have hidden all this behind a wall of “anonymous sources.” This is one dreadfully serious reason why the American people don’t trust “investigative reporting.” In reality, it turns out it looks like a series of chummy hand-offs, funded by Trump opponents.

“Pro-Clinton political activism” and “news reporters” are one and the same thing.

“News” is being assembled and colored by personal transactions between old friends and/or political allies. There’s a lot of horse-trading and glad-handing in the “news” process that they hide through their opaque sourcing techniques.

To be fair and balanced on this ethical front, the conservative Washington Free Beacon website also retained Fusion GPS for research – for a few months before the Clinton campaign and the DNC – and the Daily Caller reported that they also reported on Fusion GPS without acknowledging a relationship.

Campaigns for decades now have been ravenous for “opposition research” – combing over a candidate’s decades of policy positions, speeches, and personal behavior, looking for something damaging that can change a political trajectory. Candidates and political parties pay for it, but the investigative reporters are also doing it.

In the Trump era, reporting and “opposition research” have become one and the same. The Clinton campaign and the DNC paid former reporters to find a gold mine in Russia. Why go the expense? Hundreds of liberal reporters helped the Democrats at no charge. The public needs to be skeptical about just how ethical they are in organizing scoops behind the scenes.

Journalists Whine About Guns After Islamic Terrorist Mows Down Victims With Truck

The morning after a deadly terror attack in lower Manhattan Tuesday afternoon, journalists in the left-wing media couldn’t get their head around a deadly attack that didn’t involve guns. 8 people were killed and several others injured in New York City yesterday afternoon, after an Islamic radical motivated by ISIS mowed down pedestrians in a bike path, just blocks away from the World Trade Center memorial. Liberal journalists took to Twitter, and some even used their news programs to complain about gun control, and call out President Trump for calling the act terrorism right away, which he didn’t do after Las Vegas.

Here’s What ‘Allahu Akbar’ Really Means

On Tuesday, a Muslim terrorist rented a truck and drove it down a pedestrian walkway in lower Manhattan, killing eight and wounding 11.

When the terrorist — ISIS, an Islamic extremist group, has claimed responsibility — jumped from the vehicle, witnesses say he yelled, “Allahu akbar!” CNN likes to translate this phrase as meaning “God is great.” The New York times does, too, as in this passage from its front-page story on Wednesday, when it said the terrorist “ran up and down the highway waving a pellet gun and paintball gun and shouting “Allahu akbar,” Arabic for “God is great….”

But it doesn’t mean that — not by a longshot.

“Allahu akbar” means, literally, “Allah is greater.” But the elative tense in Arabic is somewhat flexible, so it can also mean “Allah is greatest.” Either way, though, there is no generic deity — it isn’t just “God.” No, Allah is explicit in the phrase and means, literally, “Allah” — not “God.”

“The translation of the phrase is often rendered as ‘God is Great,’ but when you unpack the term you quickly realize that it is much more than a simple expression,” The Jerusalem Post wrote. “After all, a simple expression would never do as the last words a Muslim speaks while maiming and murdering innocents.”

Allahu Akbar does not actually mean “God is Great,” and contrary to common belief, it is not a phrase from the Koran. In fact, it is not found anywhere at all in the holy book of Islam, but rather in the Hadith.

The Arabic expression is called the takbir. The words “akbar” and “takbir” use the same three-letter root, k-b-r, which means “big” or “great.” Allahu Akbar is, in fact, part of the muezzin’s call to prayer. It is a phrase used in times of happiness and joy, used when a baby is being born, during the pilgrimage to Mecca called the hajj and during festivals called the Eid. And yes, also in wartime and in jihad.

But the phrase soon began to mean something else entirely.

We understand how it was intended when Egyptian Olympic judoka Islam El Shenaby uttered the words just before his match with Israeli Olympic judoka Ori Sasson. He was not celebrating the birth of a child.

It was a declaration of jihad, of war, it was a war cry used to destroy the non-believer. …

After September 11, 2001, the FBI said that they found notes with the takbir among the possessions of the terrorist in Dulles, the crash site in Pennsylvania and in Mohamed Atta’s suitcase.

In the suitcase they even found a note that read, “When the confrontation begins, strike like champions who do not want to go back to this world. Shout ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers.”

Micah Halpern, a political commentator, also traces the phrase back to The Hadith, a set of additional Muslim texts written after the Koran. One passage describes how the prophet Mohamed prepared to attack Jews in 628 A.D., shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

The exact quote from the Hadith is: “The Prophet set out for Khaibar and reached it at night. He used not to attack if he reached the people at night, till the day broke. So, when the day dawned, the Jews came out with their bags and spades. When they saw the Prophet; they said, ‘Muhammad and his army!’ The Prophet said, ‘Allahu Akbar! (Allah is Greater) and Khaibar is ruined, for whenever we approach a nation [i.e. enemy to fight] then it will be a miserable morning for those who have been warned.’” “Allahu” is the nominative form of the word “Allah,” the name of God in Islam. It is not God. There is a significant difference between the name of God and the word “god.”

More Details On NYC Terror Suspect Emerge: Here’s What You Need To Know

According to law enforcement officials, Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, the 29-year-old Uzbekistan national suspected of mowing down pedestrians and cyclists in Manhattan on Tuesday, was interviewed by Homeland Security agents two years ago about possible ties to suspected terrorists, but the agents could not find enough to open a case on him.

Officials say that the interview was conducted in 2015 by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations Unit, who were looking into Saipov’s possible terror connections. “Saipov’s name and address was listed as a ‘point of contact’ for two different men whose names were entered into the Counterterrorism and Criminal Exploitation Unit’s list after they came to the United States from ‘threat countries,'” ABC News reports, citing an unnamed federal official.

ABC reports that one of the two men has disappeared and is now being sought as a “suspected terrorist.”

NBC News presented similar information earlier in the day, citing a senior government official who indicated that Saipov “was not on government investigators’ radar, though his name did surface several steps removed from another person who was on their radar.”

On Tuesday afternoon, Saipov allegedly drove a rented Home Depot truck onto a bike path, mowing down pedestrians and cyclists for nearly a mile, before ramming into a school bus near the World Trade Center. He was shot in the abdomen by a NYPD officer and currently remains in critical care. His rampage left at least 8 dead and 11 wounded.

Police say that Saipov was yelling “Allahu Akbar” as he exited his vehicle and that they found images of ISIS flags and a handwritten note declaring “ISIS lives forever” in the truck.

After Saipov underwent surgery for his wounds, investigators spoke with him in the hospital. A senior official said that he showed no remorse for his murderous act, and in fact seemed “almost boastful about it,” according to NBC. Though Saipov was not himself on the government’s radar, said an official, his name was connected to another suspect who was:

A senior official with direct knowledge of the investigation tells NBC News Saipov himself was not on government investigators’ radar, though his name did surface several steps removed from another person who was on their radar.

Saipov’s social media activity showed that he actively sought and engaged with radical Islamic propaganda and sympathized with ISIS. Officials believe Saipov may have planned the attack; his role as an Uber driver for the last six months allowed him to be familiar with the area.

Saipov gained entry into the country in 2010 under that controversial “diversity visa lottery” program, which offers visas to immigrants from countries that send relatively few immigrants to the U.S., as opposed to a merit-based system. On Wednesday, President Trump called for an end to the program and condemned Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer for his role in developing it.

Trump also announced via Twitter that he has “ordered Homeland Security to step up our already Extreme Vetting Program,” adding, “Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!”

CBS Accused of Photoshopping NYC Terrorist’s Picture to Make Him Look White

On Tuesday Islamist Sayfullo Saipov, a 29=year-old immigrant from Uzbekistan, murdered eight people in a truck attack in New York City.

Saipov entered the US under the “Diversity Visa program” in 2010.

Sayfullo Saipov was shot in the butt by police before his arrest.

CBS released a photo of the killer after his arrest. It appears to be an image from his Florida driver’s license.

Sayfullo looks like a bearded caucasian in the CBS photo.

But now CBS is being accused of photoshopping Saipov’s photo.

On the left is the actual picture of 29-year-old Saipov; on the right is the version of the picture that CBS broadcast, used in newscasts and also put on their website.

Notice anything different?

Hah-Hah! Man Trolls Anderson Cooper Shouting “CNN Is Fake News!” On Live TV (VIDEO)

Hah-Hah! Man Trolls Anderson Cooper Shouting “CNN Is Fake News!” On Live TV (VIDEO)

On Tuesday evening, CNN host Anderson Cooper was reporting live from Lower Manhattan on the terror attack, when a man interrupted the broadcast yelling “CNN is fake news!” and “Anderson Cooper is fake news!” Ever since President Trump labeled the news outlet “fake news,” the term has stuck to CNN like glue.

Video credit: Mark F

Daily Caller reports:

A random person walked into the frame during a live broadcast on the streets of New York on CNN Tuesday, yelling “CNN is fake news!”

Cooper was asking, “How likely is it that there could be a video, kind of a martyrdom video so-called, which is what we saw in, I think when the Charlie Hebdo attacks, if memory serves me, there were some, and some of the attacks in Europe that we’ve seen…”

A pedestrian walked into the camera feed and said, “CNN is fake news! CNN is fake news! Anderson Cooper is fake news!”

A CNN crew was on the ground in New York due to a suspected Islamist terror attack in Manhattan Tuesday.

Earlier in the broadcast, a man held up a sign that read “CNN is ISIS.”

CNN would be taken more seriously if it focused on reporting the truth, rather than its left-leaning narrative. Not only was Anderson Cooper’s coverage marred by trolls, but the network suffered some self-inflicted wounds as well. Despite having a physical description of the terrorist Sayfullo Saipov, CNN’s Crime and Justice reporter Shimon Prokupecz declined to reveal it, as The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft reported yesterday.

Prokupecz: “Police know who he is. They have a description of him. I’m not going to share that at the moment.”

Obama Re-Emerges To Pitch Insurance

And yet, he took away mine, as he did to thousands if not millions of others who had plans they liked and doctors they liked.

Yes, I could pay hundreds for another plan. That doesn’t include my doctor or the things my prior plan did. But it wouldn’t cover me until my 6500 deductible is satisfied. So basically it’s him forcing me to give up my money while getting nothing back for it unless I have a catastrophic event.

Terror Suspect Sayfullo Saipov Passed Uber Background Check, Drove for 6 Months

NEW YORK (AP) — The man who police say transformed a New York City bike path into a terror scene was an Uzbekistan native who made 1,400 trips as an Uber driver and formed two commercial truck businesses.

A family friend called Sayfullo Saipov hard-working and neighbors said he would play with the children in a Florida apartment complex. President Trump derided the suspect as “sick and deranged.”

Details of the life of the suspect — who had connections to many places across the U.S. but no known social media accounts — have begun to emerge after Tuesday’s attack that killed eight people and injured at least 11.

Here’s what is known so far:

___

A YOUNG IMMIGRANT

Officials who were not authorized to discuss the investigation and spoke on the condition of anonymity identified Saipov as the attacker and said he is 29 and originally from Uzbekistan.

He came to the U.S. legally in 2010, the officials said, and acquaintances said he lived first in Ohio after his arrival.

Dilnoza Abdusamatova, said Saipov briefly stayed with his family in a Cincinnati suburb upon immigrating.

“He always used to work,” Abdusamatova told The Cincinnati Enquirer. “He wouldn’t go to parties or anything. He only used to come home and rest and leave and go back to work.”

A man in a rented pickup truck mowed down pedestrians and cyclists along a busy bike path near the World Trade Center memorial on Tuesday, killing at least eight and seriously injuring 11 in what the mayor called “a particularly cowardly act of terror”. (Nov. 1)

A marriage license filed in Summit County, Ohio, lists a man by the name of Sayfulloh Saipov marrying Nozima Odilova on April 12, 2013. It said the couple were living in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, at the time.

The license listed Saipov as a truck driver. His wife is about six years younger. Both listed Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as their hometown.

___

FLORIDA

Authorities said Saipov had a Florida driver’s license and some public records showed an address for him at a Tampa apartment complex.

Residents at that complex said FBI agents came by Tuesday evening and conducted interviews.

Michael Roberts, 30, an overnight shift worker, said he was asleep when the agents showed up at about 5:30 p.m. but that they interviewed his cousin. He said both he and his cousin had moved in only a week ago and had never heard of Saipov.

A friend who met Saipov in Florida, Kobiljon Matkarov, told The New York Times and the New York Post that he seemed like a “very good guy.”

“My kids like him too. He is always playing with them,” Matkarov told the Post.

___

NEW JERSEY

Officials said Saipov was living recently in New Jersey, where he allegedly rented a Home Depot pickup truck an hour before driving it onto the bike path.

On Tuesday night, police investigating the deadly rampage surrounded a white Toyota minivan with Florida plates parked in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Passaic, New Jersey.

The van was parked near the company’s rental trucks

Law enforcement cordoned off an apartment building in Paterson, New Jersey, early Wednesday. Officers also searched a garage. The building’s manager told The Record newspaper that Saipov lived with his wife and two children in a two-bedroom apartment.

___

UBER DRIVER

The ride-hailing company Uber said Saipov passed its background check and drove for the service for six months, making more than 1,400 trips.

The company said it was in touch with the FBI and offered its assistance and that it was reviewing Saipov’s driving history but found no related safety reports.

___

COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVER

Records show Saipov was a commercial truck driver who formed a pair of businesses in Ohio.

The first business, Sayf Motors Inc., used the address of a family friend near Cincinnati with whom Saipov had stayed for a couple of weeks after his arrival in the country.

The second, Bright Auto LLC, used an address near Cleveland.

A trucking industry website listed Saipov at a Paterson, New Jersey, address that authorities were searching Tuesday night. Court records related to trucking-related infractions list Saipov with addresses in Paterson and the Cleveland suburbs.

According to the records, Saipov was ticketed for not having the right brakes on his vehicle in Platte County, Missouri, near Kansas City in late 2015. A warrant was issued for Saipov’s arrest in April 2016 when he missed a hearing on the case. He resolved it in November 2016 by pleading guilty and paying $200 in fines and court costs.
