Disillusioned Anti-Trump Democrat Makes SHOCKING Admission About Who He’s Willing To Vote For In 2020

If this sentiment continues to grow, it could be a real game-changer. …………………………… …………………………………………………………………….. ………………………………………………

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

This week senior editor Rod Dreher of The American Conservative highlighted a couple recent emails he’s received from Democrat readers, and one in particular really piqued my attention.

In the email, an unnamed Democrat first began by openly admitting that he pretty much loathes both President Donald Trump and the Republican Party:

“I believe in climate change and America’s responsibility to take policy steps to reduce our contribution to it, I’m anti-NRA, pro-Obamacare to an extent, and detest the Republican Party generally. The day after Trump got elected, I posted a scathing denunciation of everyone who had voted for him, which got the millennial social capital gold: hundreds of likes and almost 40 shares, including by several people I didn’t even know.”

Of course, this is to be expected from the average liberal Democrat, so I’m not fretting over it.

He added that he also fears the president because “I believe the danger of having someone as unstable and hair-trigger reactive in charge of the United States military and nuclear arsenal is a disaster waiting to happen.”

Again, this is to be expected.

But it’s what he wrote next that prompted me to exclaim, “Wow!”:

But leaving the nuclear issue aside, the Left’s behavior in the last year has pushed me steadily more and more in the direction of being willing to vote for a sort of lower-key Trump (someone like Ben Shapiro), as strongly as I disagree with him on some issues, because I’m increasingly afraid of what a liberal political hegemony would mean.

In case you’re not already aware, Ben Shapiro is a renowned conservative commentator who prioritizes long-standing conservative principles and mores over capricious, populist-based whims such as, for instance, Trump’s idea of imposing steel tariffs.

As a result, he’s built a reputation for being brutally critical of the president when necessary. Just to be clear, though, Shapiro has no qualms about praising Trump if and when he acts in ways befitting a Republican president, e.g., when he pulled America out of the senseless Paris climate accord last year.

Shapiro’s fervent willingness to essentially “keep it real” — no matter who he offends — has in turn won him many fans among the right, the center and, apparently, even the left as well.

Returning to the the letter to Dreher, the unnamed Democrat continued by highlighting example after example after example of leftist academics, media pundits, lawmakers and everyday Americans attempting to use manipulation, intimidation and allegations of “hate speech,” “fascist” and “alt-right” to silent dissenting opinions.

He further argued that it’s because of this growing behavior by his fellow liberals that he and other disillusioned Democrats like him have begun to consider voting for someone such as Shapiro come 2020:

“The fact is, I don’t want to live in a country where the only views permitted in public debates (if they can be termed ‘debates’ at all) are the ones deemed acceptable by enraged Twitter mobs, and where expressing a perfectly reasonable, measured claim (‘America should prioritize its own working class over that of illegal immigrants, while still doing what we can to help the Dreamers’) publicly can put you at quite reasonable fear of getting doxxed and subsequently losing your job and health insurance.”

Well said.

It’s ironic, if you think about it. Leftists purport to want to root out fascism and create a more “fair” and “justice” society. Yet their actions and rhetoric make it clear that the society they would ultimately create were they afforded the opportunity would be a totalitarian hellhole not too dissimilar from Nazi Germany.

It’s almost as if, in their endless quest to root out the imaginary fascism they see all around them, some liberals are slowly but surely transforming into fascists themselves …

ROTTEN: Critics Absolutely Destroy Oprah Winfrey’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’

Maybe she’s not popular enough to run for president after all.

Oprah Winfrey’s new star vehicle, “A Wrinkle In Time,” which opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, has been totally savaged by critics. The movie critic site Rotten Tomatoes gives it just a 46% rating, meaning the movie isn’t classified as “fresh,” but rather deemed “rotten.”

“It’s hard to understand what went wrong – the cast couldn’t be more appealing, and the film is bursting with special effects. But as an emotionally satisfying experience, it’s a bust,” wrote top critic Calvin Wilson of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

“While I’m generally a sucker for imaginative art direction, the Technicolor gargle of overflorid hues on display here barely sticks to the screen, let alone to the memory,” said top critic Scott Marks of the San Diego Reader.

Other lesser known critics shredded the Disney movie. “The crushing flaw of A Wrinkle In Time: Almost every scene is so saturated with clumsily delivered ‘believe in yourself’ mantras that it becomes monotonous, meaningless and even creepy,” wrote Gary Dowell of Dark Horizons.

Vincent Mancini of FilmDrunk wrote: “The forces of ‘positivity’ and ‘negativity’ are so vaguely defined that it feels like a string of disconnected inspirational quotes, a series of free floating metaphors with no human connection.”

The movie certainly sounds tedious from a brief description on RT.

“Meg Murry (Storm Reid) is a typical middle school student struggling with issues of self-worth who is desperate to fit in. As the daughter of two world-renowned physicists, she is intelligent and uniquely gifted, as is Meg’s younger brother Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe), but she has yet to realize it for herself. Making matters even worse is the baffling disappearance of Mr. Murry (Chris Pine), which torments Meg and has left her mother (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) heartbroken.

“Charles Wallace introduces Meg and her fellow classmate Calvin (Levi Miller) to three celestial guides — Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey), Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon) and Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling) — who have journeyed to Earth to help search for their father, and together they set off on their formidable quest. Traveling via a wrinkling of time and space known as tessering, they are soon transported to worlds beyond their imagination where they must confront a powerful evil. To make it back home to Earth, Meg must look deep within herself and embrace her flaws to harness the strength necessary to defeat the darkness closing in on them.”

Bleck.

And that’s led to some very bad reviews. “The real letdown is that this ostensibly hip-and-with-it movie feels so square, especially when it comes to its trio of wise-women,” wrote Rafer Guzman of Newsday.

But Frank Swietek, a writer with “One Guy’s Opinion,” had the best bad review. “Barely coherent, overburdened with unimpressive special effects and hobbled by unremittingly bad acting, it will confound and bore children and adults in equal measure.”

Ouch.

POPULAR DEMOCRAT Smokes Pot in Campaign Ad, Lied About Being Iraq War Vet, Lied About Being in FBI, Beat Girlfriend… Perfect!

Benjamin Thomas Wolf is running for Congress in Illinois.

Benjamin smoked pot in an ad, faked being an Iraq War veteran, lied about being in the FBI, and was accused of beating and doxxing a former girlfriend.

Benjamin sounds like like future of the Democrat Party.

What’s not to love?

FOX News reported:

A Democrat seeking a U.S. House seat in Illinois – who attracted attention for a campaign ad showing him smoking pot – now faces accusations that he has abused women and misleadingly described himself as an “Iraq veteran” and “former FBI agent.”

Benjamin Thomas Wolf, who is running in the Democratic primary against incumbent U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley, came under fire after an ex-girlfriend alleged he acted abusively and intentionally revealed her name and home address on social media, a practice called “doxing.”

“He actually hit me, threw me to the ground, put his foot on my chest. He was really angry. He grabbed my face,” Katarina Coates, who interned for Wolf’s campaign, told Politico.

The FBI Paid Geek Squad Employees as Informants

The FBI has been in cahoots with Best Buy’s Geek Squad for at least the past decade, new documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit reveal.

An FBI memo obtained by the nonprofit digital rights group reveals that Best Buy in September 2008 hosted a meeting of the law enforcement agency’s Cyber Working Group at a Geek Squad repair facility in Kentucky. The memo indicates that the local FBI division “has maintained close liaison with the Geek Squad’s management in an effort to glean case initiations and to support the division’s Computer Intrusion and Cyber Crime programs.”

Revelations about the FBI’s relationship with Best Buy first surfaced last year during the prosecution of Mark Rettenmaier, a California doctor who was charged with possession of child porn after bringing his computer to Geek Squad for a repair. The relationship, according to the EFF, “potentially circumvents computer owners’ Fourth Amendment rights.”

In a Wednesday statement to PCMag, Best Buy said that four of its Geek Squad employees “may have” received payment by the FBI after turning over alleged child porn to the agency.

“Any decision to accept payment was in very poor judgement and inconsistent with our training and policies,” Best Buy wrote. “Three of these employees are no longer with the company and the fourth has been reprimanded and reassigned.”

The FBI declined to comment when contacted by PCMag.

Best Buy said its Geek Squad repair employees don’t specifically search for child porn on people’s machines, but “inadvertently discover it” nearly 100 times a year.

“We have a moral and, in more than 20 states, a legal obligation to report these findings to law enforcement,” the company wrote. “We share this policy with our customers in writing before we begin any repair.”

Best Buy went on to say that it has “not sought or received training from law enforcement in how to search for child pornography.”

“Our policies prohibit employees from doing anything other than what is necessary to solve the customer’s problem,” the company wrote. “In the wake of these allegations, we have redoubled our efforts to train employees on what to do — and not do — in these circumstances.”

Documents obtained by the EFF, however, indicate that “Geek Squad employees did make an affirmative effort to identify illegal material,” the EFF wrote in a blog post.

“For example, the image found on Rettenmaier’s hard drive was in an unallocated space, which typically requires forensic software to find,” the EFF wrote. “Geek Squad employees were financially rewarded for finding child pornography. Such a bounty would likely encourage Geek Squad employees to actively sweep for suspicious content.”

The EFF is currently seeking additional documents from the FBI to find out whether the agency has similar relationships with other computer repair businesses.

Why Trump Is So Hated by Leftists

My brother expressed his disgust watching an animated TV show trashing Trump, titled Our Cartoon President.  Incredibly, leftists have hijacked the airwaves and everywhere people gather to exploit as platforms to spread their vitriolic, insane hatred for Trump.  Outrageously, TV coverage of the Olympics included leftist hatred for the Trump administration.

Despite the shocking discovery that leftist policies probably played a role in the deaths of 17 kids in the Florida school shooting, leftists continue puppet-mastering students to blame Trump.

Even Sunday worship has been hijacked by leftists to trash Trump.  My brother asked the pastor of his all black church to please stop including a lie-filled Democrat-talking-points rant about Trump in his sermons.

Leftist disrespect and venomous hatred for President Trump is unprecedented, over the top, and boldly spewed 24/7.  I wondered, why?

I reached out to prominent conservatives and Republicans for their thoughts.

VICTORIA JACKSON

I think Trump is hated by the left because his ideology, his words and actions, are the exact opposite of the left’s ideology. He is not a “globalist,” but loves America, our homeland; he knows that we can’t continue being the world’s number-one giver if we are not safe and successful ourselves.  He knows that capitalism, not communism, will feed the poor; capitalism makes everyone richer, while communism makes everyone equally poor.  He knows that free enterprise and less government regulation will provide jobs and boost our economy, not socialist handouts and overregulation.

He knows that less unemployment and getting out of debt will save our nation much more than wasting time and money on things like the scientifically unproven climate change hoax and its hidden goal of controlling the masses.  He believes in individual freedom and responsibility, not government control.  He’s not a secularist (new word for atheist, according to Julia Sweeney’s TED talk), but a defender of religious liberty, including Christianity.  He is protective of Americans and not protective of our enemies, some of whom sneak into our midst through unenforced immigration law.

He thinks all lives matter, not just black lives; he respects the police, firefighters, and military instead of fanning the Saul Alinsky Rules for Radicals flames of violent civil unrest and class and racial warfare.  He is not a saint, and he doesn’t pretend to be.  He believes in free speech, not political correctness.  The left is confused; leftists don’t know how to respond to a politician who speaks from the heart, not from talking points.  The left hates Trump because the Tea Party loves him.

JUDSON PHILLIPS

Trump is hated the same way and for the same reason President Reagan was hated.  He is a fighter, and he is moving a conservative agenda forward.  The left did not like George W. Bush, but they did not hate him the way they hate Trump, because Trump believes in fighting and winning.

MYCHAL MASSIE

Why are the reprobates in both parties so averse to helping President Trump stabilize and protect what little of a future we have left?  What is it that both political parties find so repulsive about protecting American citizens?

The answer is fairly easy to state, and more complex to explain in intricate detail.  Ergo, I will simplify the explanation as much as possible.  They are fighting President Trump because he is a threat to their “one-world government.”

President Trump’s victory in America has spawned a new generation of pro-nationalist leaders who refuse to be ruled by a heteronomous government that is handpicked in a wine- and cheese-filled room located in a hotel at some posh island retreat.  Bush had great dreams for a North American-style European Union by implementing NAFTA, full amnesty, and open borders.

While we were marginally successful in stopping Bush, Obama destroyed any chance of making it happen because of his contemptible arrogance and his hedonistic wife, who viewed the American taxpayers as her American Express Card.

Notwithstanding, the bones of North America becoming the Western-type E.U. were still in place, and both parties knew that it was only a matter of time until they succeeded.

But then “Along Came Donald J. Trump.”  Once again, the arrogance of the ruling elite thought We the People could be bullied and intimidated into doing as we were told.  But this time, their schemes and machinations did not work because we saw in President Trump a man we could trust.  And the power elite will never forgive President Trump nor will they forgive We the People for electing him.

JOE MILLER

As I explained in the run-up to the 2016 election here and here, I’ve always believed that Donald Trump is the Real Deal.  That doesn’t mean I agree with everything he does or says.  But there’s little question that the president is his own man.  And that drives the Establishment crazy.  The oligarchs want someone they can control.  They rely on leveraged politicos to do their evil bidding, but Trump has given them no such foothold.  So they use their Establishment-controlled media to foment hate against him.  This fake news jihad is effective but will not stop Trump.

LARRY PRATT

He fights!

NINA MAY

Trump is hated not only by the left, but by the RINOs for the exact same reason: they can’t control him.  They can’t intimidate or shame him as they do everyone else, and probably the most poignant and profound is that he believes in something greater than himself, than the state, than politics…and that is God.

They hate that because they serve a fallen savior who battles against the truth on a daily basis while Trump champions the truth.

I wish to thank these great patriots for their insightful input.  Here’s why I believe that Trump is so hated by leftists.

Leftist hatred for Trump is rooted in their mission to undermine all things wholesome, godly, and good for America.  Everything leftists do, in essence, gives the God of Christianity the middle finger.  It is not coincidental that leftists hijack Christian symbols and institutions for their anti-God agenda.

For example: The rainbow was God’s promise to Noah to never again let floodwaters destroy all life.  Homosexuals hijacked God’s rainbow to symbolize behavior God calls an abomination.

God created marriage as a holy union between one man and one woman.

Despite civil unions readily available to them, homosexuals successfully broke down marriage, resulting in every conceivable deviant configuration to eventually be legally declared marriage.

Trump in the White House is a miracle.  Despite leftists’ 24-7 efforts to stop and destroy him, President Trump has remarkably implemented 64% of his Make-America-Great-Again agenda.  Fasten your seat belts, leftists: Trump has only just begun.

AG Sessions reveals ‘a person outside of Washington’ already has been appointed to investigate FISA abuses

Is Attorney General Jeff Sessions really standing in the way of a full investigation of wrongdoing by the FBI and Justice Department officials, abusing their offices to spy on the Trump campaign and presidency?  President Trump’s now infamous “disgraceful” tweet seems to indicate a loss of confidence:

Sessions has antagonized many conservatives, many of whom expect him to be fired by President Trump or else are outright demanding said firing.

Last night, in an exclusive interview with Shannon Bream of Fox News, Sessions revealed that he already has appointed someone to investigate the allegations coming from the chairmen of the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform Committees, Bob Goodlatte and Trey Gowdy, who are requesting appointment of a special counsel.

Jake Gibson tweeted out the key revelation:

Video of the interview may be seen here.

I have no way of knowing when the appointment was made of a non-D.C. veteran DOJ prosecutor, nor do I know how much progress has been made in that investigation.  However, three points are worth considering.

  1. It is better for the DOJ to be quiet about its investigations.  Grand jury proceedings are secret for good reason.  If convictions for wrongdoers are the goal, it is best to keep these investigations secret.  So it is quite possible that a lot of progress already has been made, and that appointment of a special counsel could actually set back the investigatory progress.
  2. Sessions is a stickler for proper procedure and ethics.  The fact that he revealed an ongoing investigation indicates that he is feeling pressure.  It would not be surprising if he has kept quiet for a long period of time.  I can’t think of a plausible explanation for why he would be delaying or obstructing a legal reckoning.  I can’t credit any notion that he is a double agent or Deep State operative.
  3. Hasty or reckless action could lead to failure to convict or an overturned guilty verdict, if any procedural errors take place.

Now, it may be true that the entire Department of Justice, including the FBI, is fatally compromised and unable to investigate itself.  That is the rationale for appointing any special counsel and the major reason cited by Chairmen Goodlatte and Gowdy in their letter requesting appointment of a special counsel.  And Sessions tells Bream right off the bat in the video segment above that he is “seriously considering” their argument.

But I am not ready to conclude that no honest, diligent, and dedicated prosecutors are left at the DOJ, nor that the FBI in total has been corrupted.  In fact, it looks as though under Obama, the upper levels of those organizations were staffed by partisan hacks on the order of Andrew McCabe and Peter Strzok, but wholesale replacement of the career officials below them has not taken place.  The very best assets for a good investigation would be officials who are angry about the politicization under Obama and who may, in fact, have been taking names and quietly accumulating evidence.

I urgently want a deep and thorough investigation, and eventual prosecution if evidence is developed of criminality.  And I share the president’s and many conservatives’ frustration that Sessions recused himself from the appointment of Robert Mueller, allowing Rod Rosentstein to pick him and charge him in a way that excluded any collusion by Hillary’s campaign and the Democrats but allowed a fishing expedition where Trump is concerned.

However, there is a considerable delay if a new investigatory apparatus has to be set up by a new special counsel.  It would take time to vet possible appointments and staff up.  And if outsiders are appointed, their unfamiliarity with the DOJ and FBI cold impose further delays and cause mistakes to be made, including overlooking evidence because they don’t know where to find it.

The same sort of considerations applies to firing Sessions and appointing a successor.  First of all, there is the small matter of Senate confirmation.  That could delay or prevent an effective replacement from taking office, leaving the necessary reforms to weed out bad apples and implement new guidelines in limbo.  A brand new A.G. would have to start all over again, figuring out who can be trusted and who cannot, and figuring out what sort of changes in policies and procedures needs to be implemented.

Obamacare’s latest 21,904 dead bodies

Remember how President Obama, back when he was selling Obamacare to the public, oleaginously assured that his plan would expand health care access to the millions?  And how he pooh-poohed the Republican claim that such socialized medicine would result in long waiting lines, same as those seen in every other socialized-medicine country?

Turns out the waiting lists are there, and it’s the sickest people – those who require home care or institutionalization – who are waiting longest.  In fact, according to a new report from the Foundation for Government Accountability, at least 21,904 have died, waiting in line, victims of Obama’s Medicaid expansion, which prioritized quantities of people on the rolls over a neediest-first policy.  According to Pajamas Media’s Tyler O’Neil:

At least 21,000 needy people have died while waiting for Medicaid coverage, while 13 million able-bodied adults received coverage from Medicaid in the states that expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, an explosive new study revealed Tuesday.  At least 247,295 people are currently on waiting lists to enroll in Medicaid.

The study, published by the Foundation for Government Accountability, revealed that when Obamacare enabled states to vastly expand Medicaid, it resulted in mismanagement, depriving the most needy and rewarding the able-bodied.

Central planning has always been about getting big numbers – quantity over quality.  It was that way in the Soviet Union, with its emphasis on production for “the masses,” and it’s that way with Obamacare.  That there is anyone still waiting for care on these lists – and the report describes these people as ones with traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, severe intellectual disabilities, and mental illness – is scandalous.  Those are the ones the full political spectrum supports care for.  There is always room in a free-market system for help for people who cannot help themselves.

That the Big State and the Obama programs that created it are falling down on the job in this matter highlights the lack of political muscle these truly powerless people have.  The report is vague on who’s able-bodied, given that able-bodied people can still get heart problems or cancer.  But there’s no excuse for abandoning the helpless with no political lobbies.

Republicans should make an issue of this mismanagement of priorities – and use these figures as one more nail in the coffin to end the nightmare of Obamacare and all its Medicaid add-ons as soon as possible.

Democrats must be made to pay a price for coziness with Farrakhan

The narrative that the left has created about President Trump being a racist and the GOP as the home of David Duke can be flipped on its head and used to great electoral advantage, if only Republicans will take full advantage of the opportunity presented by revelations concerning deep ties of key Democrat officials with Louis Farrakhan.  Farrakhan’s open and proud hatred of Jews was once again on display two weeks ago, when he delivered his “Saviours’ Day” address, condemning “Satanic Jews” (again).

“Jews were responsible for all of this filth and degenerate behavior that Hollywood is putting out, turning men into women and women into men,” Farrakhan said in his keynote speech.

“White folks are going down.  And Satan is going down.  And Farrakhan, by God’s grace, has pulled a cover off of that Satanic Jew, and I’m here to say your time is up, your world is through,” Farrakhan said towards the end of his speech.

The Democrats have been in bed with Farrakhan for years.  Barack  Obama secretly met with him in 2004, and with the aid of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), he kept that secret from the public until after his presidency was over.

No fewer than seven members of the CBC have ties with the hate-monger:

California Reps. Maxine Waters and Barbara Lee, Illinois Rep. Danny Davis, Indiana Rep. Andre Carson, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, New York Rep. Gregory Meeks and Texas Rep. Al Green have all attended meetings with Farrakhan while in Congress, according to photos, videos and witness accounts of the meetings reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation. …

Davis has a personal relationship with Farrakhan and is unbothered by Farrakhan’s position on “the Jewish question,” he told TheDCNF on Sunday. Davis called Farrakhan an “outstanding human being” in an interview with The Daily Caller in February and said he has regularly visited with Farrakhan. …

Ellison, the deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), repeatedly attended meetings with Farrakhan while in Congress, according to photos and videos reviewed by The DCNF and Farrakhan’s own statements.

Ellison now is claiming – perhaps accurately – as Peter Hasson reports, that “other Democrats don’t care about his ties to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, a notorious anti-Semite.”

“None of my colleagues ever asked me about that, only reporters,” Ellison told the Post.  “I am telling you, no one cares.  I’ve been all over Minnesota, all over Alabama, all over Missouri, all over Pennsylvania and Connecticut, and nobody ever asked me about this.  People ask me about wages, about pay, about health care, about guns, about immigration.  They ask me all kinds of challenging questions.  But for some reason, some folks in the Fourth Estate think that this Farrakhan thing needs to be inquired about instead.”

In his interview with the Post, Ellison never denied meeting with Farrkahan in Congress.

Imagine if the second-in-command of the Republican Party had been caught meeting with David Duke multiple times, after claiming no ties, and then went on to say that Republicans don’t care about such meetings.  Can anyone doubt that CNN would put aside the MSM obsession with Russia and denounce the GOP as openly racist and demand the official’s firing?  The media would be joined by many Republicans, who want nothing to do with racists.  It is, in fact, unthinkable that such ties would ever be tolerated in the first place.

The Republican Jewish Committee has already demanded the resignations of the Farrakhan Seven.  John Kass of the Chicago Tribune:

[I]f you’re of the left, and happen to be a Democratic Party politician, you can get away with making excuses for notorious anti-Semite and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

And when those excuses are made, the left is largely silent.

Even New York Magazine asks why it’s so hard to condemn Farrakhan’s anti-Semitism.

I would love it if President Trump would turn his Twitter account toward asking why the Democrats tolerate ties to Farrakhan in the party leadership and congressional delegation.  And with the midterms approaching, how about ads telling voters that if they vote Democrat, they could hand power to supporters of Farrakhan and those who see nothing wrong with him?  There is video of Farrakhan’s hateful rhetoric, and there’s that picture of Obama smiling next to Farrakhan.  It is well past time to brand Democrats as the party of hate.

Almost certainly, the Democratic Party as a whole is loath to antagonize the CBC by demanding the severing of ties, much less resignations.  The party wants a gigantic black turnout.  But Democrats should be made to pay a price with the majority of Americans, who find Farrakhan’s bigotry unacceptable.

Watch: While parts of US ban backpacks, Dutch students use them to thwart attacks

Dutch students at Scala College in the Netherlands’ Alphen aan den Rijn teamed up and appeared to thwart an attacker’s blades during a Tuesday altercation using just their backpacks, according to The Daily Mail.

Contrarily, several schools across the U.S. have banned backpacks in the weeks following the deadly Parkland, Florida school shooting in hopes to beef up safety measures for students.

In the case of Scala College, however, the students’ backpacks may very well have been the thing that saved lives.

What happened during the incident?

In the video, you can see a group of students approach a suspect armed with two long knives while outside on the college campus.

The students begin throwing backpacks at the suspect as he attempts to get away. Some of the backpacks make contact with the suspect, and he trips and falls at one point.

After regaining his footing, the suspect tries to take on the group of students with his knives.

The group converges on the suspect, forcing him outside a campus gate, and begins swinging backpacks at the attacker’s body and his knives.

Later on in the video, the suspect can be seen walking away from the campus, looking behind him, as some students follow.

Who was that guy, anyway?

According to The Daily Mail, police identified the suspect as a 44-year-old man known to the students.

Police reportedly took the suspect into custody and he remains there while they conduct an investigation.

See the altercation in the video below.
