Four Ohio teenagers convicted of killing a man after dropping a sandbag on his car from an overpass have been sentenced to a youth treatment facility, according to a court official.

“The youth treatment center is a lockdown facility in Toledo. The program runs six months, but there is no set time to release. The average youth spends eight months there,” Lori Olender, juvenile division deputy chief for the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office, told CNN.

The judge also sentenced the teens to four-year suspended sentences, probation, and 30 hours of community service.

One teen was convicted of murder and felonious assault while the other three were convicted of involuntary manslaughter and vehicular vandalism. All four pleaded guilty to their charges.

Lillian Diallo, an attorney for the victim’s family, called the sentencing “outrageous.”

“Suspended what? If you do what? So eight months you get to go home?” Diallo told WTVG outside the courtroom after the sentencing. “This child will never be at home. His son will never see him. His mother will never be able to say, ‘Hey son, how are you? How’s your day?’ Touch his face, see his face. This is outrageous.”

Authorities charged the teens for dropping a sandbag from a freeway overpass onto a car carrying 22-year-old Marquise Byrd on December 19, 2017. The sandbag struck the vehicle’s window and hit Byrd. The victim later died at a local hospital.

Two similar incidents took place in Michigan and Pennsylvania. In October, five teens were arrested in Michigan for allegedly throwing a rock over a highway overpass, fatally striking a motorist below.

In 2015, several teens threw a rock into incoming traffic on I-80 in Pennsylvania, seriously injuring a passenger. The teens were convicted of multiple offenses and were tried as adults.

DOJ misses deadline to release documents, Rep. Meadows suggests impeaching Deputy AG Rosenstein

Leading conservative Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said Saturday that a group of his colleagues are considering the use of the “contempt of Congress” statute because the Justice Department is failing to comply with a subpoena to hand over 1.2 million documents relating to three investigations.

The easiest thing to do, Meadows told Fox News, is to have Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein call DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz and tell him to just give the documents to Congress.

What are the documents about?

Lawmakers are seeking documents relating to the investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server, potential abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, and the firing of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, according to reports.

If Rosenstein fails to take action to allow Congress to “have our constitutional oversight authority supported, then we’ll find someone who can,” Meadows said.

Meadows suggested impeachment is a possibility.

“But it’s not enough to stop there,” Meadows told the news outlet. He made the comment hours after President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter that the Justice Department was “slow walking” after it missed a Thursday deadline to hand over the documents.

House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) sent a subpoena to Rosenstein more than two weeks ago, according to published reports. That happened after the agency failed to respond to a request for the documents made by Goodlatte and House Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.)

Was an extension granted?

“Here are the next two things you have to do,” Meadows told Fox News. “We have given a short deadline. I’ve given a deadline of this week. We need to see the documents.”

A Republican House Judiciary Committee aide told the Washington Examiner Thursday they were working with the DOJ to take “immediate steps to comply with the subpoena and produce documents to the Committee.”

The meaning of “abridge” at the time it was used in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution was “to deprive”. Thus, even though the actions by Internet giants Google, Facebook, Twitter, and all the other blatantly leftist social media corporations in censoring conservative content – read: pro-American, pro-capitalist, pro-Christian, pro-traditional values, pro-2nd Amendment, pro-Trump, etc. – clearly deprive us of our freedom of speech, the actions are constitutional, since the perps are companies and not Congress.

A Muslim woman in Houston said she was attacked by a crazed man driving an SUV who got out of his car and stabbed her in the arm while screaming anti-Muslim insults.



As we reported on Saturday — The actual probability of this being a true story is slim to nil since most of these stories usually turn out to be fake hate attacks.

Of course, this story made headlines across the US because such an attack is so rare in America.

On Sunday the Muslim woman spoke out about the ‘vicious’ attack.

KHOU reported:

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says they’re looking for the attacker who exited his red SUV off Huffmeister near 290 and went after the woman with racist slurs and a knife.

“I wasn’t actually sure if they had side swiped me and so that’s why I pulled over and got out of the car,” the woman said. “The driver got out of the car — he was a white guy with a lot of tattoos and a slim build, and he saw me.”

The woman says she was wearing her scrubs and hijab as normal.

“Turning to his friend, the passenger said, ‘Oh my God, it’s a rag head,’” the woman said. “He called me a desert monkey. He called me a sand n****.”

She said the man became increasingly aggressive and began hitting her with the butt of a knife that he had. She said she raised her arms to defend herself and the man stabbed her in the arm.

“When he pulled the knife out, the blood started squirting out and into his eyes and mouth, it was arterial pulsatile bleeding,” she said. “And he started ‘spah spah spah,’ and that’s when I got away and got back into my car.”

The woman raced back to the hospital for help and called police.

Unfortunately, this story doesn’t add up for the injured Muslima.

She said that when the hillbilly knifed her in the side of the arm the artery was struck and started “pulsating bleeding” shooting blood into the attacker’s mouth.

Her wound appears to be on the outside of her arm.

The arteries in the upper arm are on the inside.
A vein would not pulsate.

Her entire story does not add up.
It sounds like a typical leftist describing a conservative.
The disturbed woman lied and should fess up.

Woman bashes Mike Rowe’s ‘work ethic scholarship.’ Rowe’s response couldn’t be more perfect.

Mike Rowe is awarding more than a half million dollars in scholarship money this year to students earning degrees in skilled trades. But there’s just one caveat: lazy, self-entitled students need not apply.

Rowe asks all applicants to sign his “S.W.E.A.T” pledge, which stands for “Skill & Work Ethic Aren’t Taboo.”

But one mother whose son was applying for Rowe’s scholarship took issue with the pledge and wrote on the TV hosts’ Facebook page bashing it. Rowe’s response couldn’t have been more perfect.

What did the woman say?

Karyn Segal, whose son aspires to be a welder, told Rowe she was appalled when her son showed her the “sweat pledge” requirement.

“Where did you come up with this nonsense? There are so many things wrong with this document I don’t even know where to begin!! Suffice it to say, we will not be applying!!!” she wrote.

How did Rowe respond?

With eloquence and grace, as he always does.

He began his lengthy response by explaining Segal isn’t the first parent to take issue with the pledge.

“Over the years, it’s been my sad duty to inform lots of angry parents that this particular pile of free money might not be for them, or for their children,” Rowe wrote.

Rowe wished her son success in his career, then dropped a reality check, writing:

But to be clear, I have absolutely no interest in paying for his training if doesn’t share my opinions on the importance of hard ethic, a positive attitude, delayed gratification, and personal responsibility. Sorry — I made a promise to the people who contribute to this fund, and I can’t bend the rules. Fortunately, lots of scholarship funds will hand out money with no strings attached, and if you poke around, I’m sure you’ll find one that’s more in line with your worldview.

Rowe goes on to explain in the next five paragraphs the purpose behind the pledge and why he believes those 10 qualities are important for young Americans to embody. At the end, Rowe noted that he posted the same letter last year, but is reposting it because he’s getting similar complaints this year.

Washington Post senior editor Marc Fisher said on CNN’s Reliable Sources Sunday that President Trump attacks Amazon because he is jealous of Jeff Bezos.

Fisher told CNN that Trump’s attacks on Amazon and the Washington Post are “absurd,” specifically pointing to Trump’s claim that the Post serves as a “chief lobbyist” for Amazon.

“It’s an absurd claim. The Washington Post has done really a lot of critical reporting of Amazon,” Fisher said. “What’s really going on here is that the president, according to some people inside the White House, has kind of a jealousy issue with Jeff Bezos.”

Fisher speculated that the Trump made these claims about Amazon because he is obsessed with where he ranks on the Forbes list of richest people in the world and the Forbes list of the 400 richest people in America.

The president currently ranks at No. 766 on the list of richest people in the world.

“He’s had a long-standing obsession with that Forbes list and doesn’t like where he is on it,” Fisher said, adding that Trump doesn’t “quite get” the rise of online retailers like Amazon.

Trump criticized the Post for its fake news in a Sunday morning tweet after the paper published a story about White House Chief of Staff John Kelly losing influence in the West Wing.

New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet also went on CNN’s Reliable Sources Sunday to claim that Trump’s bashing of the media is “out of control” and that his advisers should tell him not to criticize the media.

Trump has taken the opportunity to criticize the media for publishing fake news since the 2016 presidential election and has continued to slam the media for its coverage during his presidency. In January, he tweeted out a link to the “Fake News Awards” presented on the GOP’s website declaring CNN as the winner of four fake news awards.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan is cracking down on the carrying of knives in response to a spate of stabbings that pushed the city’s murder rate past New York’s for the “first time in modern history.”

Khan deployed an additional 300 Metropolitan Police officers over the weekend to work exclusively against knife crime, urging them to be more “confident” in their authority to stop anyone suspected of carrying a weapon.

“What you will see over the course of the next few weeks and months — is what we have seen over the last few weeks and months — which is stop-and-search based on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon going up, more arrests as a consequence of this intelligence-led stop-and-search going up and hopefully our city becoming safer,” the mayor said Saturday, according to The Telegraph.

Khan also issued a warning to would-be knife carriers, saying they should think twice before bringing one out in public — whatever the reason.[…]

Stabbings have worsened despite Britain’s already strict knife control laws. U.K. law prohibits knife sales to those under 18 and makes it illegal for anyone to carry a knife “without good reason,” unless it has a folding blade of three inches or fewer.

The British Home Secretary is expected to roll out a new strategy on Monday to combat the wave of knife crime. The measures include legislation prohibiting knives from being sent to residential addresses when bought online and banning possession of a knife on “further education premises,” according to Sky News.

While the nation continues to view California as a homogeneous voting block of individuals in lock step with an increasingly progressive liberal agenda, for Common Sense Californians up and down the left coast state, there’s a sense that a different tide is rising.

The ripple began in Los Alamitos where the city council voted to opt out of California’s sanctuary law. And it was followed by Orange County who voted to join the U.S. Department of Justice in challenging the state’s sanctuary city laws. This decision was echoed by the city of Escondido and later this month San Diego County will also vote to join their ranks in this federal lawsuit. Other municipalities are lining up to consider doing the same.

California has always been the tip of the spear. Often the genesis of art, influence, ideas, style and entertainment, we also take the lead in ways that are less admirable with high state tax, high gas tax, high costs of living and housing, an out of control homeless problem in our urban areas, declining test scores in schools, increasingly inaccessible and cost-prohibitive health care, and many of our major cities often appear on lists of the least-livable cities in the U.S.

After nearly 100 years of gun control London, and the UK as a whole, are looking at knife control as the latest step in trying to dissuade the criminally-minded from carrying out their schemes.

London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan used a tweet to go after knives with verbiage similar to gun control rhetoric. He said, “No excuses; there is never a reason to carry a knife.”

On April 2, 2018, Breitbart News reported that Britain began an incremental adoption of stringent gun controls in 1920. The controls were ratcheted up during the decades that followed, until the hoops one had to jump through for legal handgun ownership reached a point were doing so became impractical. (The handgun prohibitions were contained in the Firearms Act of 1997.)

In 2009, just 12 years after the passage of the Firearms Act, the Daily Mail declared Britain was “the most violent country in Europe.” It reported that Britain had “a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S.”

On October 21, 2017, Breitbart News reported that rapes in London were three times higher than in New York City and, on April 2, 2018, Breitbart News reported that London’s homicide rate had surpassed the number of homicides in New York City, year-to-date.

London’s homicides are largely being committed with knives so the Mayor is increasingly focused on controlling knives and is granting police “extra stop and search powers for areas worst-affected by knife crime.” The Daily Wire reports that “Parliament is also set to take up heavy ‘knife control’ legislation when it resumes this week.”

Billionaire George Soros received millions in US taxpayer dollars to fund his progressive agendas

Leftist billionaire George Soros tapped into at least $9 million worth of taxpayer dollars when the Obama administration in 2016 allegedly funneled money into a Soros organization called the East West Management Institute, according to Judicial Watch.

Thirty-two pages of government documents obtained by Judicial Watch through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit revealed the alleged maneuver. Judicial Watch launched a lawsuit to get the documents after government agencies initially refused to hand over the public information.

What was the money used for?

Documents show money ended up being used to fuel socialist-communist operations by the Albanian government. That included a survey designed to prove that Albanians were in favor of restricting the powers of the judicial system in their country.

“What’s troubling is obviously Soros needs no taxpayer money to do any of this ‘advocacy’ work,” Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch president, told Fox News.

But the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development partnered with Soros and essentially allowed him to set U.S. foreign policy, Fitton said.

According to the documents, Soros operatives were also allowed to enter State Department offices and provide technical reviews of other applications for other government funding aimed at Albania.

After receiving the documents and payment of attorneys’ fees, Judicial Watch agreed to drop its lawsuit, according to a statement on its website. Judicial Watch is also investigating Soros-led activities in Romania, Hungary, Guatemala and Colombia.

“The governments are under assault from the Soros-State Department unity effort to bring socialism and stop anything in the area of reform, Constitutionalism — the sort of things Americans would be uncomfortable with,” Fitton told Fox News.

The State Department has denied the allegations.

Has anyone else questioned this?

Last year, a group of senators led by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) asked then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to investigate how taxpayer dollars ended up supporting Soros’ political agendas in several Eastern European countries.

A letter on Lee’s website questions whether millions of taxpayer dollars are being funneled through the USAID and into Soros’ Open Society Foundations, which promote his progressive agendas.

“Foundation Open society-Albania and its experts, with funding from USAID, have created the controversial Strategy Document for Albanian Judicial Reform,” the letter states. “Some leaders believe that these ‘reforms’ are ultimately aimed to give the Prime Minister and left-of-center government full control over the judiciary.”

Judicial Watch is a conservative, non-partisan educational foundation, according to its website.
