The New York Times smeared U.S. Border Patrol agents and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers with a misleading tweet that indicated hundreds of employees had been arrested for accepting bribes and other forms of corruption. Of the approximately 60,000 agency employees less than 500 were charged with crimes over a two year period — only 30 of those involved charges of corruption.

The New York Times sent out a misleading tweet implying that “more than 500” Border Patrol agents and CBP officers were arrested for “drug trafficking, accepting bribes, and other crimes over a two-year period.” The actual number charged with the corruption-related crimes headlined in the tweet is 30.

Despite this low number, the New York Times lead paragraph states: “More than 500 employees of the United States’ primary border security agency were charged with drug trafficking, accepting bribes and a range of other crimes over a two-year period, according to reports released on Friday.” The newspaper appears to be implying there is a huge corruption problem within the federal law enforcement agency charged with securing our nation’s borders and ports of entry.

Of the approximately 60,000 employees of CBP, only 496 were actually arrested, according to the report from CBP on disciplinary actions for Fiscal Years 2016 and 2017 — a tiny percentage of the employee base.

Of those 496 employees arrested, only 30 were charged with corruption-related charges during the two-year reporting period, the report indicates.

Significantly above the corruption charges were charges related to drug and alcohol misconduct and domestic/family misconduct.

The crimes for which CBP employees were arrested included the following for the two-year period:

• Drug/Alcohol-Related Misconduct — 238
• Domestic/Family Misconduct — 95
• Corruption — 30
• Impeding the Criminal Justice System — 27
• Assault — 25
• Property Crimes — 18
• Traffic/Driving Misconduct — 18
• Crimes Involving Children — 12
• White Collar Crime — 11
• Threatening Behavior — 10
• Minor Offenses — 10
• Weapons Violations — 9
• Miscellaneous Misconduct — 7
• Violent Crimes — 4
• Sexual Misconduct — 4

Not all of the alleged crimes have been adjudicated. As of September 30, 2017, nearly two hundred of the cases remained open. During the two year period, only five employees were removed from law enforcement positions for felony convictions.

“The CBP Standards of Conduct state that in order to fulfill its mission, CBP and its employees must sustain the trust and confidence of the public they serve, CBP officials stated in the report. “As such, any violation of law by a CBP employee is inconsistent with and contrary to the Agency’s law enforcement mission. CBP’s Standards of Conduct specify that certain conduct, on and off-duty, may subject an employee to disciplinary action. These standards serve as notice to all CBP employees of the Agency’s expectations for employee conduct wherever and whenever they are.”

“The number of employees arrested in FY 2016 and FY 2017 represents a minute percentage of the overall CBP workforce of approximately 60,000,” officials concluded. The number of alleged crimes remained relatively steady from Fiscal Year 2015 through the end of Fiscal Year 2017.

He long ago warned Americans about the excessive intrusion of politics into the judicial appointment process. And he explained that a large share of the blame belongs to the justices themselves.

My father believed that a major reason the judicial confirmation process has become so heated is that federal judges too often exceed the role envisioned by our nation’s founders and usurp the power of elected representatives.

Do you ever get the feeling the left is only pro-woman when it suits them? Honestly, the hypocrisy that comes out of that leftist philosophy is astounding.

The party of #MeToo, a woman’s right to choose and equal rights certainly gets no extra bonus points from me for how they treat women from the right’s political philosophy, especially the first lady.

I would characterize their treatment of conservative women as catty, disrespectful and insolent, just off the top of my head.

But White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders leveled the liberal playing field with minimal effort.

Never let it be said that ABC’s “The View” misses an opportunity to drive home the message that they don’t like The Trump administration or anything remotely connected to it.

On Friday, evidently they felt the time was right to make the most insulting comments they could muster toward first lady Melania Trump.

At the 24:00 minute mark on this video, guest host Yvette Nicole Brown took the cheap shot during an interview with Tom Llamas who appeared to promote his interview with the first lady that was scheduled to air on Friday evening on ABC.

Llamas set up his interview by stating the format he wanted to show.

“It took us us two years to get this interview. It started back on the campaign. I covered the Trump campaign. I had been toying with the idea of doing an extended interview with her. And then we had a lot of meetings with her staff and a lot of meetings at the White House and my pitch to her was very simple––it was America doesn’t know who you are. I want to give you an opportunity to say who you think you are and I think we got there,” said Llamas.

When the subject of alleged infidelity by her husband came up, Brown took the low road and said: “Is it possible that she’s not concerned with his mistresses because she was one of them, is that possible that it doesn’t affect her in that way?

You could hear the groans from the some in the audience as she spoke.

Melania Trump gets more than her share of hard knocks from the left, as we see here, but another strong woman from the Trump administration came to her defense with great distinction and class.

Sarah Sanders reiterated the hypocrisy with which the left stands both for and against women — depending, of course, on which side of the political spectrum said women stand.

Sanders can certainly sum up a number of factual truths in less than 140 characters, with great eloquence.

The first lady’s spokeswoman also offered a comment:

During the interview, the women on the panel dug into every possible question they could to uncover a “gotcha” moment that might have been uncovered in Llamas’ interview, but to his credit, he maintained respect for the content of her answers and even a respect for the first lady herself.

And even Llamas came to her defense: “I do want to say something. There was a comment made at this table today about Mrs. Trump. I just want to say, whether you like her or you don’t like her she deserves our respect because she is our first lady.”

Independent Journal Review reported that Brown stood by her original statements even though she walked back the allegation: “Although Brown then added an ‘allegedly’ to her statement, she has continued to stand by her words in the face of backlash.”

I stand by every word I said.

My mom taught me that respect is earned. And thankfully we live in a nation–at least for now–where I don’t have to bow down to dear leader or his third wife.

And she just couldn’t let it go.

Well, all I can say is good luck to Brown because I don’t believe she’s going to come out on the winning end of this one. If a liberal mainstream media outlet reporter like ABC’s Tom Llamas can muster up respect for the first lady in a Republican administration, there’s probably more than enough evidence that she deserves it.

Melania has proven to be a class act, unlike that of what we have seen coming from “The View.”

Administration personnel like Sarah Sanders will probably not be the only one in the future to come to the first lady’s defense, because the kind of class demonstrated by the first lady transcends leftist cheap shots.

Comedians aren’t what they used to be. At least, that is what many have been saying on social media in light of “comedy” such as seen delivered by people like Kathy Griffin, Jimmy Kimmel, Wanda Sykes, and Stephen Colbert.

And while the the public has been calling them out on being politically-divisive instead of funny, someone else has now jumped into the arena to hit back at them. And this call-out really packs a punch.

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham was confronted by TMZ about a tweet posted by comedian Chelsea Handler that referenced him. Her National Coming Out Day tweet specifically mentioned Graham and implied he was a closeted gay man.

Graham’s response was reasonable and level, despite this obvious intended smear.

People magazine wrote that the interaction with TMZ took place in the Reagan National Airport. He told the cameraman, “It’s a free country; she can say what she wants to say, I don’t care.”

He added, “I don’t think much about what she says at all. She wants to live her life that way, it’s up to her.”

Graham was asked about the “homophobic” nature of her tweet, and offered a powerful insight that Handler might want to take to heart. It came right after he addressed her attempted attack on his sexuality.

“Number one, she knows zero about me. To the extent that it matters, I’m not gay.”

“And these comments… I don’t think they reflect well on her and I don’t know how it makes us a better country, but it’s up to her, not me.”

He’s looking at you, Chelsea Handler. Are you listening? If you don’t care about healing a divided country, do you at least care about real comedy?

Fox News noted that many social media users weren’t impressed with her “comedy,” either. “Many on social media were not amused and derided Handler’s joke as homophobic, tired, and lazy.”

And they are right. A quick search of Twitter revealed many users who called Handler out for her tweet.

Read a condensed online autobiography of Graham last week. It’s pretty impressive. My guess is that man isn’t bothered in the least by your strange obsession with his sexuality.

Given the fact that the left seems to be reaching critical mass in terms of hate for the right and midterm elections are quickly approaching, it may seem unlikely that Handler will pay any heed to Graham’s words of wisdom. Some might say it is equally unlikely she will try to focus on real comedy.

In the meantime, Sen. Graham is among those in congress, who as of late, seem to have gotten a fire in their belly and steel plating implanted on their spine. There are many on the right who appreciate this new fire.

A new U.S. Army tank is virtually invisible to enemies. It carries the latest advances in arms and in armor. They can shoot down planes and take out entire cities.

And perhaps most unusual of all, they don’t require a single human being inside.

The official name of the project is the Robotic Combat Vehicle, and if it sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, consider the fact that a demonstrator should be available by 2021.

According to defense specialist Allison Barrie, they’ll be the first in a new generation of autonomous tanks.

“Similar to how drones are operated above war zones while flown by pilots more than an ocean away, smart heavily armed and armored vehicles could similarly execute the instructions of soldiers safely within the walls of a base,” she wrote in a piece published at Fox News on Friday.

“Just like the aerial drones, the military will soon be able to remotely operate combat vehicles on the ground anywhere on the planet. Human crews operating the ground drones could be safely stationed on U.S. home soil — nowhere near the enemy.”

According to Barrie, the new prototype “already possesses ‘man-optional’ combat mode. It offers all the advantages of the CV90, while potentially allowing a military to take humans out of the battle physically. BAE has already proven that it can remotely operate this ferocious machine beast.”

The active protection of the new model also allows it to be nearly invulnerable to attacks ranging from nuclear assaults to IEDs. However, perhaps the most amazing ability of the CV90 MkIV is how it manages to hide from the enemy.

“BAE’s mind-blowing and relentlessly trailblazing ADAPTIV program provides camouflage that renders the vehicle essentially ‘invisible’ to enemy forces,” Barrie writes.

“It does this by something called ‘active multi-spectral cloaking.’ The cloaking can make the vehicle blend into the background so it seems to vanish. It can even mimic other objects making the tank look like rocks or a car in the eyes of the enemy if need be.”

In other words, it’s like an armed chameleon. And trust us, it’s armed all right.

“The CV90 tends to involve a two-man turret armed with Bushmaster cannons. This remote-controlled solution allows powerful weapons to be unleashed on the battlefield but reduces the risk to soldiers by taking them out of the turret,” Barrie writes.

“The firepower is a pick and mix. The vehicle’s weaponry can be tailored to requirements and there’s quite a range of options — even very powerful missiles. The weapons can even defeat enemy aircraft and enemy tanks.

“Its Fire Control System can already autonomously set the type of ammunition most suitable to defeat these threats, as well as automatically calculating the angles for maximum accuracy,” she adds. “By itself, the vehicle can also choose the fuse setting. This smart vehicle knows whether the best approach will be airburst, impact or delayed detonation and adjusts its selection to the threat.”

While full autonomy will likely be a possibility sometime in the near future — meaning the tank’s systems will be able to act on their own — Barrie says that the tank will likely have a human at the helm, even if it’s only being controlled remotely.

“Critics will fear monger about the sky falling due to this generation of smart combat vehicles,” she wrote. “The fact that the military takes great care to keep humans in the decision-making process is frequently overlooked.

“Most importantly, sending autonomous vehicles into combat without human crews could significantly reduce the risk of casualties.”

And, it sounds like this new tank could be making a huge difference in just three years. That’s eight years earlier than Schwarzenegger’s character transported back in time from in the first “Terminator” movie. Just pointing that out.

With all the recent focus on the #MeToo movement and the sexual assault allegations against now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the behavior of the panelists on ABC’s “The View” might seem odd. Hypocritical, even.

During a guest appearance on the show Wednesday, actor Neil Patrick Harris revealed something disturbing that “View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said to him years before, when he was a teenager.

Harris, who is gay, was talking about his husband and their 8-year-old twins, their love of Halloween and creative annual family photos. Goldberg’s seemingly unrelated laughter caught his attention.

When asked about it, she noted that she remembered Harris “at that age.” It was then that he revealed that the first movie he ever worked on was with Goldberg — and dropped a bomb.

“You know, I did my first movie ever with Whoopi Goldberg, a movie called ‘Clara’s Heart.’ And we worked together on that,” Harris said. “She told me — I was, what, 15, 16 years old — she told me on my last day of shooting that in 10 years’ time she was going to have sex with me.”

The panel and many in the audience laughed at this. Goldberg didn’t deny it or apologize.

“I might have,” she said.

Again, the panel and many in the audience just laughed. Goldberg then went on to say, “He had many questions as a kid, so I said, ‘Listen, wait 10 years, and I’ll take you through it.’

“In those days, you could actually have some fun like that. You can’t do that now. People get very upset now.”

However, no one present seemed to get upset about it.

Harris also said he was “not offended” by what Goldberg had done. And the panel moved on, as if nothing had happened.

In light of the left’s outrage over uncorroborated allegations against Kavanaugh, it seems highly hypocritical that a grown woman making sexual advances on a teenager was brushed off as a joke.

Goldberg and others on the show bashed Kavanaugh throughout the confirmation process. She also joined in with other celebrities to protest his nomination.

Notably, this isn’t the first time Goldberg has made controversial comments about sex with children. In 2009, she defended director Roman Polanski, who drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl. That wasn’t “rape rape,” Goldberg said on “The View.”

She also took up for former President Bill Clinton, who has a long history of sexual assault and harassment allegations made against him.

With regard to Goldberg’s comments to a teenage Harris, unlike the panel and audience of “The View,” many other Americans didn’t find it funny.

She was already a star, felt powerful, felt entitled, knew he wouldn’t tell and no one would believe him if he did. Same mentality as all the other predators. Didn’t take it as far (as far as we know). Still, her ability to comment credibility on #metoo issues is shot to hell.

Still, Goldberg has faced no consequences for her disturbing comments.

Several Democrats are saying former 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is viewed as the “kiss of death” among Democratic candidates running in the 2018 midterm elections.

The Democrats, who spoke on condition of anonymity, voiced concerns that Clinton’s presence would threaten the party’s chances at retaking the House and Senate in 2018, forcing Clinton to keep campaigning to a minimum and only appearing at low-key fundraisers.

“Hillary Clinton is the kiss of death and she represents the part of the Democratic Party that led to historic losses and that elected Donald Trump president,” one leading Democratic strategist told the Washington Examiner.

“Democrats don’t want her to campaign for them because everywhere she goes she carries this stench of death and is the only political figure in America that is less popular than Donald Trump,” the strategist added. “That’s a real testament to her.”

“When I think of people who have been part of our push to retake the House, I just don’t think of them at all. I think it’s a very good thing that they’re not being visible. It wouldn’t help our candidates,” a House Democrat said.

But despite objections from some Democrats, Clinton continues to make her presence known in the media.

The former presidential candidate and secretary of state told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that cultural changes in issues like gay marriage caused Republicans to “seek the kind of leadership that will limit freedom,” referring to President Trump as that leader.
