Melania Goes Military with Gorgeous Outfit for 2nd Day of Africa Visit

First lady of the United States Melania Trump is wrapping up her solo tour of four countries in Africa —  Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt — where’s she’s taken the opportunity to promote her children’s welfare initiative.

Her plans for her “Be Best” program are to “champion the many successful well-being programs that provide children with the tools and skills required for emotional, social, and physical health.”

“The campaign will also promote established organizations, programs, and people who are helping children overcome some of the issues they face growing up in the modern world,” the program states.

On Tuesday morning, the first lady began her trip in Accra, Ghana, where she was greeted by the first lady of the Republic of Ghana, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy to Ghana, Christopher Lamora, according to the White House.

Local schoolchildren also gave Mrs. Trump a warm welcome, waving American and Ghanaian flags.

During her time in Ghana, the first lady visited the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, also known as Ridge Hospital, which is assisted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and especially supports maternal, newborn, and child health.

Before she left, Mrs. Trump made personally selected donations of baby blankets, toys, and baby care supplies to the hospital.

For whatever reason, Mrs. Trump’s welfare initiative has just invited more critics of her, with the left grasping for ways to somehow turn her trip into something harmful. They’re actually expressing offense at her sartorial choices, getting especially nasty about the safari helmet the former model wore while she was on a guided safari.

Do you appreciate Melania Trump’s well-being initiative?

But that’s just Americans talking. Somehow I don’t think the people she met with on her trip were bothered.

It seems that Mrs. Trump can’t avoid being relentlessly bashed for whatever she does, even when it’s something as great as promoting the well being of children. Imagine how different the treatment she’s getting would be if she were a Democrat doing all this.

The first lady mostly kept her traveling look simple and stylish. For the second day of her trip, she dressed in an army jacket with her sleeves pushed up and paired it with khaki slacks. She added a pair of flats to the ensemble while she traveled along the coast of Ghana. She finished off her easy but classy style with her hair worn down.

The President vocalized his appreciation of the first lady’s efforts, tweeting on Thursday, “Our country’s great First Lady, Melania, is doing really well in Africa. The people love her, and she loves them! It is a beautiful thing to see.”

While in Ghana, she also had an an audience at Emintsimadaze Palace before Cape Coast’s Paramount Chief, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II and chieftains, as is custom before being granted permission to visit the Cape Coast Castle.  The castle was one of 40 used in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. The first lady placed a wreath of flowers outside a dungeon door, telling press it was “very emotional.”

“This is a very special place,” Mrs. Trump said. “I will never forget the incredible experience and the stories that I heard from the gentleman. The dungeons that I saw … what happened so many years ago, it’s really a tragedy.”

“I want to thank the people of Ghana for such a wonderful visit and the opportunity to learn about their history and culture,” said Mrs.Trump in a statement. “My time in your country was filled with so many meaningful stops.”

The ever-gracious first lady is finishing up her tour and will be heading back to the U.S.

“We care, and we want to show the world that we care, and I’ve partnered and am working with USAID,” she said to the press on Saturday at her final stop in Egypt. “And that’s what I want to share, that we care.”

Deranged: Sharpton Compares Trump Supporters to People Who Attend Lynchings After Church

The Kavanaugh confirmation circus may be finally — mercifully — behind us, but one pattern has emerged from that saga: The left has doubled-down on deranged rhetoric.

As Judge Brett Kavanaugh faced a slew of unproven allegations that kept increasing in their tabloid trashiness, liberals seemed to revel in divisive rhetoric like pigs in mud.

It wasn’t enough that the accusations be taken seriously and investigated. No, liberals went all in on pushing insulting narratives as far as they could go, with the media gleefully joining in.

USA Today, for example, tripped over itself to push a false narrative of family man Kavanaugh as a pedophile, with no evidence.

Meanwhile, Sen. Mazie Hirono told men to “shut up” because they were the wrong gender while protesters mobbed and harassed conservatives. They even accused Republican Sen. Susan Collins of being a “rape apologist.”

TRENDING: Limbaugh Notices ‘Professional’ Voice Technique During Ford Testimony

Just when you thought the vile rhetoric couldn’t get any worse, Al Sharpton showed up on the scene.

During a Friday appearance on NBC’s “Dateline,” the well-known race hustler declared that Trump supporters are people who “go to the lynching after clothing themselves in morality.”

“I think that we’re dealing with a bully,” Sharpton said, talking about Trump. “Let’s not forget these people would go to church and then go to the lynching after clothing themselves in morality. And that’s what we’re seeing today.”

Is this a new low for incivility and insult-based politics?

Yes, the prominent liberal just compared voting Republican and supporting a judge who appears completely innocent to stringing up black people — the very same people, it’s worth noting, that the Republican Party of Lincoln fought to free.

The depravity of this statement is so bad, it’s hard to even know where to start. Even setting aside how clearly divisive and insulting it is, the most glaring issue is that it’s 180-degrees opposite from reality.

Over in real life, a place Sharpton hasn’t visited in a long time, it was largely his own Democrat party that perpetuated heinous lynchings in pre-civil rights America. The KKK was a racist Democrat group, a fact that liberals are desperate to sweep under the rug.

Take a look at the voting results for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, one of the pivotal laws that helped protect black rights. “More Republicans voted in favor of the Civil Rights Act than Democrats,” admitted CNN in a retrospective about the legislation’s 50th anniversary.

“Virginia’s Democratic Rep. Howard W. Smith was a staunch segregationist and strongly opposed the Civil Rights Act,” CNN continued.

RELATED: Anti-Kavanaugh Group Claims To Be Poor and Grassroots, Public Records Say Otherwise

On the other hand, it was Republicans who risked their political futures to make sure the historical equality legislation got passed.

“Ohio’s Republican Rep. William McCulloch had a conservative track record,” explained CNN. “His district (the same one now represented by House Speaker John Boehner) had a small African-American population. So he had little to gain politically by supporting the Civil Rights Act. Yet he became a critical leader in getting the bill passed.”

But Sharpton has never let facts and reality get in the way of a good smear.

What is perhaps most ironic is that if we really want to use the “lynching” analogy, it was Kavanaugh’s character and reputation which were unfairly assassinated.

The crimes against African Americans that Sharpton is so eager to bring up were great injustices because mobs of people tossed aside the presumption of innocence, and rushed to punish without waiting for evidence or courts. Sound familiar?

Standing up against emotional rash judgements and mob justice is something that black Americans should agree on, considering how often they bring up the problem of minorities being falsely accused — and imprisoned or shot — without due process. Apparently that concern only applies to specific skin colors.

Blindly believing someone — yes, even a woman — even though she has no evidence or corroborating witnesses is exactly how southern lynchings happened in the first place. Somebody please send Sharpton a copy of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” because he has seriously lost the plot.

TRUMP UNLEASHED! President Trump Blasts Democrats in Kansas: “You Wouldn’t Give Matches to an Arsonist, You Can’t Give Power to Democrats”

President Donald Trump flew to Topeka, Kansas on Saturday to rally for Republican candidates before the November midterm elections.
The president signed the Supreme Court commission for Brett Kavanaugh Saturday evening from Air Force One.

Trump was unleashed in his attacks on Democrats labeling the far left party, “The party of crime.”

President Trump went off on the far left turn of the liberal Democrats.

“You wouldn’t give matches to an arsonist, and you can’t give power to Democrats.” … Democrats are open borders. Democrats support violent sanctuary cities. Republicans think America should be a sanctuary and law-abiding Americans.”

Trump knocked Pelosi for defending MS-13 animals.

The President was ON FIRE in Topeka.

New Harvard studies show wind power does more damage, requires more land than previously thought

Two papers published by Harvard University researchers on Thursday indicate that a large-scale transition to renewable sources of energy would require five to 20 times more land than prior studies have shown, and that expanding wind farms would actually warm the continental U.S. more than carbon emissions in the short term.

What are the details?

According to the American Wind Energy Association, wind provides 6.3 percent of America’s electricity. But the Harvard researchers found that if wind farms were expanded to replace other forms of energy like coal and gas on a large scale, the surface temperatures over the continental U.S. would increase by 0.24 Celsius.
Further, co-author Lee Miller told The Harvard Gazette, "For wind, we found that the average power density — meaning the rate of energy generation divided by the encompassing area of the wind plant — was up to 100 times lower than estimates by some leading energy experts.
"Most of these [prior] estimates failed to consider the turbine-atmosphere interaction," Miller explained. "For an isolated wind turbine, interactions are not important at all, but once the wind farms are more than five to 10 kilometers deep, these interactions have a major impact on the power density."
Professor David Keith, senior author of both papers, told ABC News, "Any big energy system has an environmental impact. There is no free lunch. You do wind on a scale big enough…it’ll change things."
But Keith added that his studies "should not be seen as a fundamental critique of wind power."
"Some of wind’s climate impacts will be beneficial — several global studies show that wind power cools polar regions," he noted. "Rather, the work should be seen as a first step in getting more serious about assessing these impacts for all renewables."
Keith also advocated for a transition away from fossil fuels, while admitting the effects renewables have on the environment.
"If your perspective is the next 10 years, wind power actually has — in some respects — more climate impact than coal or gas," he told the Gazette. "If your perspective is the next thousand years, then wind power has enormously less climatic impact than coal or gas."

Anything else?

In response to Harvard’s findings, Business Insider’s Kevin Loria wrote an analysis saying that the "study on the side effects of wind energy is almost begging to be misused by climate change deniers."
Within his assessment, Loria calls the estimated rise in temperature caused by an expansion of wind turbines "a significant amount." But, as he points out, Miller said that doesn’t mean it’s causing climate change.
Miller told Business Insider, "I have no doubt that these results will be misconstrued and misinterpreted."

Palin vs. Murkowski? Former governor issues possible Senate challenge over Kavanaugh vote

Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska was the only Republican to vote "no" in a procedural vote that put Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh one step away from finally being confirmed, which caused former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to issue a veiled threat on Twitter.
Palin, who had been calling for Murkowski to support Kavanaugh, asking the senator to "do the right thing." After the vote, Palin indicated that the decision to oppose Kavanaugh might cost Murkowski her seat.
"Hey @LisaMurkowski – I can see 2022 from my house…" Palin wrote on Twitter. Murkowski’s Senate term ends in 2023, and Palin’s message led some to believe Palin may challenge for the seat. The wording was a reference to a Saturday Night Live skit that made fun of Palin.

Palin wasn’t the only one to question whether Murkowski’s run as Alaska senator needed to end. Fox News host Laura Ingraham tweeted: "I like Alaska…a lot. Maybe it’s time to run for Senate after all. @lisamurkowski has abandoned all principles of due process and fairness. Disgraceful. #ConfirmKavanaugh."

A politically unique state

Murkowski has an interesting history with Palin. Murkowski’s father, former Gov. Frank Murkowski, appointed his daughter to the Senate in 2002 — picking her over Palin.
Palin was governor of Alaska from December 2006 until July 2009, having defeated Murkowski’s father in the primary. Palin supported Republican candidate Joe Miller in the 2010 Senate race, and Miller beat Murkowksi in the primary — but Murkowski defied party leaders to win as a write-in candidate.
In 2016, Murkowski won the Republican Primary, but Miller still ran against her as a Libertarian candidate.
In short, the politics in Alaska are not like the politics in most states, and Murkowski’s relationship with the Republican Party is such that she is less likely than most to feel obligated to vote the party line.
Additionally, the issue of sexual violence is of particular sensitivity in Alaska, which has the highest rate of sexual assault in the country, and is especially high among Native women — a key coalition of support for Murkowski.
Murkowski’s against-the-grain vote on Kavanaugh, combined with her contentious history with Palin, means that in the coming years she may find herself in a somewhat familiar position — battling against the Republican establishment.
"There will be long-term resentment among Republican voters due to Sen. Murkowski’s lack of courage today," said Penny Nance, president of Concerned Women for America, according to The New York Times. "Conservative women never forget."

Scalia’s Daughter-in-Law Goes Nuclear on Democrats over Kavanaugh

Democrats desperately hoped that their antics surrounding the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh would keep him off the Supreme Court … but their actions seem to have seriously backfired.

Instead of stopping the conservative judge, liberals appear to have unified the right.

Recent polls show that voters are re-energized to support Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections, and a majority of citizens of all backgrounds disapprove of how Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, in particular, handled the unproven accusations against Kavanaugh.

Now, it looks like the left’s treatment of Kavanaugh may be repelling political moderates and independents. That’s the message of Adele Scalia, the daughter-in-law of late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who died in early 2016.

The former justice may have been known as a conservative, but Adele Scalia is not.

TRENDING: Limbaugh Notices ‘Professional’ Voice Technique During Ford Testimony

“I’ve always considered myself politically moderate: I am unapologetically pro-life, but my views on affirmative action, Black Lives Matter, and gun control made me sympathize strongly with Democratic perspectives and occasionally led to arguments with my husband and father-in-law,” she wrote in an Op-Ed piece published by The Federalist.

Scalia checks many of the identity politics boxes revered by modern liberals. She’s a female, of course, and is also a “person of color” who immigrated from Trinidad and Tobago. As she pointed out herself in her article, she was never completely comfortable with the Republican party for a variety of reasons.

All that changed thanks to the appalling treatment of Kavanaugh by Democrats, and their rejection of evidence or presumption of innocence in favor of a political witch hunt.

“I have become a unicorn,” Scalia wrote.

Will the Kavanaugh process drive more voters away from Democrats?

“All it took was Democrats’ treatment of Brett Kavanaugh over the last few weeks to turn me into that elusive creature: a minority, immigrant woman who supports Republicans,” the former attorney and stay-at-home mother said.

Mincing no words, Scalia declared that what she saw happen over the last few weeks “convinced me that Democrats are not who they claim to be.”

“The party that established itself as a champion for the voiceless, powerless, and wrongfully accused, betrayed its values and launched a vicious attack on Kavanaugh that left him voiceless, powerless, and completely incapable of defending himself,” she wrote.

Scalia pointed out something that a few others have also noticed: Despite constantly pretending to stand for the rights of the accused when it comes to urban minorities, the left betrayed those principles when it came to a conservative white male.

“Against all logic and good faith, they released uncorroborated allegations of sexual misconduct to the public, counting on the backdrop of the ‘Me Too’ movement to make them that much harder to criticize or ignore. I still cannot reconcile these actions with the social and criminal justice reform platforms that Democrats campaign on,” she wrote.

RELATED: Watchdog Group Obtains Shock Docs on What Happened Day Scalia Died

Then she revealed something that should be a red alert to Democrats: For the first time since legally entering the country, Scalia feels compelled to officially become a full citizen so she can vote … for Republicans.

“These events opened my eyes to the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party,” Scalia declared, summarizing the problem.

The left just created a new minority, female immigrant conservative voter — and there could be many more previously undecided voters who have been motivated by the kangaroo court of last two weeks.

Well done, Democrats.

Donald Trump: Alaska ‘Will Never Forgive’ Lisa Murkowski for Opposing Brett Kavanaugh

President Donald Trump warned Sen. Lisa Murkowski that she might face political retribution for her decision to oppose his nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

“I think she will never recover from this,” Trump said. “I think the people from Alaska will never forgive her for what she did.”

The president commented about the process in an interview with the Washington Post that was published on Saturday.

Murkowski voted against cloture for Kavanaugh’s confirmation on Friday. (On Saturday, Murkowski voted “no” on confirmation and later withdrew her vote to be marked “present” so that her Republican colleague in the Senate could attend his daughter’s wedding.)

The Senate confirmed Kavanaugh on Saturday afternoon with a final vote of 50-48.

Trump noted that he won Alaska easily over his failed challenger, Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, which might make it hard for Murkowski to remain in the Senate. He also reminded readers that he helped Alaska immensely by opening up drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

The president had nothing but praise for Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, who faced heavy pressure to vote against Kavanaugh but delivered a widely-praised speech in the Senate to explain why she would vote to confirm Kavanaugh.

“I think what Susan Collins did for herself was incredibly positive,” Trump said in the interview. “It showed her to be an honorable, incredible woman. I think she’s got a level of respect that’s unbelievable. I really mean it.”

Hollywood Unhinged After Brett Kavanuagh Confirmation: ‘F*ck Kavanaugh F*ck Trump’ ‘Electoral Rampage Is Underway’

Hollywood A-listers and power players melted down on social media Saturday after Judge Brett Kavanaugh officially became the 114th justice to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Another gross day in the history of our country, but the midterms are coming. We are stronger than this bullshit. We can fight and fight and we may not see the results right away, but we will see them. Our daughters will see them. Don’t give up. Fight harder,” former Netflix host Chelsea Handler fumed on Twitter.

“The fury now commences. An electoral rampage is underway. November 6th is the day of reckoning. I’m in,” warned left-wing documentary filmmaker Michael Moore tweeted.

Kavanaugh was confirmed Saturday — by a simple majority vote of 50-48 — after a contentious confirmation process that saw the longtime judge accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct.

It was, however, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME)’s emotional speech on the Senate floor Friday that experts say sealed the deal for Judge Kavanaugh.

“This tweet is for Dr. Ford. You put yourself through so much and I want you to know it wasn’t in vain. You started a movement and we’ll see it through. If they won’t listen to our voices, then they’ll listen to our vote,” talk show host Ellen DeGeneres tweeted of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford who lodged a still-unsubstantiated claim that Brett Kavanaugh attempted to rape her in the 1980s when they were both in high school.

“In conclusion: People should be fucking terrified and outraged. I sure as hell am,” Actress Alyssa Milano tweeted, echoing many Hollywood celebrities’ sentiment that they can get “revenge” for Kavanaugh’s confirmation in next month’s election. “We need to take back our power by taking back the Senate and the House in November. It is the only way out of this mess.”

Below is a roundup of the Hollywood meltdown in reaction to today’s confirmation vote.

Sarah Palin Fires Warning Shot: Strongly Hints at Senate Run Against Lisa Murkowski

Sarah Palin Fires Warning Shot: Strongly Hints at Senate Run Against Lisa Murkowski

by Kristinn Taylor
October 5, 2018

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin strongly hinted at a challenge to Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) when Murkowski is next up for reelection in 2022. Murkowski, a three term incumbent, is undecided on the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, but gave several indications Friday that she will vote no.

Sarah Palin was the vice presidential running mate for Sen.John McCain’s presidential campaign in 2008.

Palin wrote on Twitter Friday afternoon,”Hey – I can see 2022 from my house…”

Palin and Murkowski are longtime political foes. Plain defeated her father Gov. Frank Murkowski in 2006 in the GOP primary, thwarting his reelection bid. Palin successfully endorsed GOP challenger Joe Miller who defeated incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the 2010 primary. Murkowski then controversially ran as a write-in candidate, winning reelection over Miller in the general election.

Wikipedia notes Murkowski, who initially was appointed to the Senate in 2002 by her father Frank Murkowski when he left the Senate after being elected Alaska governor, has never won a majority of the vote in the general election.

“Although Murkowski has won three full terms to the Senate, she has never won a majority of the vote; she won pluralities in each of her three races, with 48.6% of the vote in 2004, 39.5% in 2010, and 44.4% in 2016.”

Minutes before Palin tweeted to Murkowski about 2022, she retweeted former aide Rebecca Mansour speaking about Palin and Murkowski, “2/2 And I defended that fact that a brave woman whistleblower was the only person to ever defeat the crony corruption of the Murkowski family. That woman was , and I’m sure you have plenty of misogynist attacks to throw her way, just as you’ve thrown them at me.”
