Amid Kavanaugh drinking controversy, video of Obama admitting heavy drinking, drug abuse resurfaces

A video featuring former President Barack Obama when he was an Illinois state senator has resurfaced, and in the 2001 video for The History Makers, he was asked what he was like as a child and adolescent.
The video has regained national attention as Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has been under fire since the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last Thursday when he denied allegations that he’d sexually assaulted Christine Blasey Ford when they were at a house party in 1982.
Kavanaugh, during his testimony, admitted that he liked to drink beer while in high school, and sometimes that he drank "too many beers," but categorically denied all claims of sexual misconduct.

What are the details of this video?

In the Obama video, the former president’s remarks will sound familiar to many Americans.
"What was the young Barack like?" the interviewer asked Obama at one point in the clip.
Obama responded by telling her that he believed he was a "thug" for a large part of his childhood.
"I think I was a thug for a big part of my growing up. I think I was a very typical gregarious, mischievous child as a young boy," Obama admitted. "I think by the time I was an adolescent, and had moved back from Indonesia and was struggling with these issues of racial identity and a father not being in the house, I think that I reacted by engaging in a lot of behavior that’s not untypical of black males across the country."
He continued, "I played a lot of basketball, I didn’t take school that seriously, I got into fights, I drank and consumed substances that weren’t always legal, and you know, I think generally was acting out in ways that, when I look back on it, I understand."
Obama added that what he believed helped him pull through some more difficult years was his natural ability to do well in school without much effort.
"I think that what got me through those years was sort of a natural aptitude for schooling, which meant that I didn’t have to pay attention too much to be able to keep my grades up," he added. "[Or] at least graduate. Some of my behavior was self-destructive. I might drink a six-pack in an hour before going back to class, things like that."
You can watch the clip in its entirety below.

Anything else?

Obama previously admitted to doing drugs in high school and college in his 1995 book, "Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance."
One such excerpt about his drug experiences read:

I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years [in high school]. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though – Micky, my potential initiator, had been just a little too eager for me to go through with that. … He had pulled out the needle and the tubing, and I’d looked at him standing there, surrounded by big slabs of salami and roast beef, and right then an image popped into my head of an air bubble, shiny and round like a pearl, rolling quietly through a vein and stopping my heart.

Opposing Kavanaugh is simply tanking the Democrats

Last night Allahpundit covered some of the most recent polls which show a bit of a GOP resurgence in some key races heading into the midterms. But what’s causing this disruption in the blue wave? It didn’t take a crystal ball to guess that the Democrats’ treatment of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh could be a factor. Now, however, we have some new polling which attaches solid numbers to that idea.

The Daily Caller as the rundown of a new survey (from Harvard of all places) showing that many Americans still may not be wild about President Trump, and they might not even like Brett Kavanaugh, but they’re simply disgusted by the obstruction on display in the confirmation process. And there is simply no way to spin this in a positive light for the Democrats. As one Dem strategist put it, this is nothing short of “a disaster.”

A majority of voters support the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court if the FBI finds no corroborating evidence to back up claims of sexual assault made against the nominee, according to a Monday poll.

Following Thursday’s testimonies from Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, 60 percent of voters support confirming the judge to the nation’s highest court, according to a Harvard University September 2018 Center for American Politics (CAPS) Harris Poll.

Three quarters of voters said California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein should have given the letter from Ford — in which she alleged the judge assaulted her — to the Senate Judiciary Committee when she first received it in July instead of holding it until the middle of Kavanaugh’s confirmation process.

The person taking the lion’s share of the blame in the public eye is Dianne Feinstein, which really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. If the information she had about Christine Blasey Ford was so critical, why did she sit on it until the confirmation hearings were over, springing it like some sort of gotcha trap at the eleventh hour? The list of aggrieved individuals suddenly coming forward with claims, none of which can be substantiated, doesn’t seem to be convincing to any but the most partisan liberal base voters.

Check out some of the other findings:

  • A majority said the confirmation process “was politicized and mishandled.”
  • 69% of voters called the process a “national disgrace.”
  • After the hearing, 67% thought Ford was credible, but 50% also thought Kavanaugh was credible.
  • 63% think Kavanaugh will be confirmed to the Supreme Court.

That phrase “national disgrace” should be a familiar one to you by now. And rather than being some throwaway talking point for the GOP, it seems to have resonated with the public. Underlying all of these numbers seems to be a signal that the public isn’t as concerned with right versus left or red versus blue, but rather a general sense of disgust with the partisan clown show which never seems to end in Washington.

This brings us back to the four scenarios that Allahpundit set forth last night and I’ll confess I can’t decide which of them is more likely. If the vote is held this weekend and Kavanaugh is confirmed, does that actually play to the Democrats’ favor? At that point, the issue would be taken off the table and people might simply forget about it. GOP enthusiasm could begin to slide again while the Democrats will still be just as energized to strike a blow against Trump.

But if Kavanaugh winds up being Borked, it’s a double-edged sword for Republicans. It will probably fire up the base to take revenge, but if the Democrats still somehow take control of the Senate (a prospect looking less and less likely by the day) we’re stuck with an eight-person Supreme Court for the next two and a half years. Is there a way around this? The only thing that jumps to mind is to have Cocaine Mitch delay the vote for weeks, giving everyone more time to look at the new FBI report. But that also gives every wannabe Michael Avenatti out there time to dredge up more supposed witnesses to the Yale social scene from 35 years ago. It’s a delicate situation at the moment and the midterms may yet hang in the balance.

Senate Judiciary Committee Statement Suggests Ford’s Legal Team Could Be In Trouble

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Senate Judiciary Committee suggests that Christine Blasey Ford’s legal team may have violated the ABA’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct by apparently withholding key information from their client.
During the explosive hearing on Thursday, Ford made clear that she did not know that the Senate Judiciary Committee had repeatedly offered to come to her for her testimony and to hear that testimony privately if she preferred.

Obama Admits Heavy Drinking, Drug Problems As An ‘Adolescent’ In Rare Video Footage

In light of the recent attacks on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh over his alleged drinking in high school and his having thrown ice at someone in a bar, a rare video clip of then-Illinois State Senator Barack Obama has surfaced that shows the 40-year-old admitting that while he was a "young boy" and an "adolescent" he drank "a six-pack in an hour" in between classes, got in fights, was a "thug," and used illegal drugs.

Anti-Kavanaugh Protester Makes Mistake of Following GOP Sen., Gets Taken Apart

An annoying protester who opposes Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh got put in her place Monday by Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana when he offered sharp and concise answers to her lousy questions.

Video footage shared on social media by Benny Johnson of The Daily Caller showed the woman harassing Cassidy by following him through a Senate building and asking questions about Kavanaugh.

“Why wouldn’t I support Kavanaugh?” Cassidy asked.

“Because rapists are bad,” the protester replied.

That’s such a terrible response for multiple reasons.

TRENDING: Report: FBI’s New Kavanaugh Investigation May Be Finished Today

First, even Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, hasn’t alleged he is a “rapist. ” Ford stated that Kavanaugh groped her at a high school party 36 years ago and attempted to remove her clothes, and she “believed he was going to rape me.”

Second, as Cassidy pointed out, all of the people Ford has named as witnesses have denied her allegations.

“Wait a second, everybody there said that it did not happen,” Cassidy responded to the protester.

“So you’re going to … you’re going to believe Mark Judge over a woman?” the woman interrupted, naming one of the alleged witnesses, a friend of Kavanaugh’s.

At this point in the video, it was already obvious the protester wasn’t willing to have an actual discussion about the details of the case. She glossed over the absence of corroborating witnesses and went straight to the “believe women” mantra.

As Cassidy pointed out, not only did Judge deny her claims, but so did other witnesses, including Ford’s lifelong and best friend, Leland Keyser.

“No, I’m going to believe her best friend,” Cassidy bluntly said.

After he shot down that line of inquiry, the woman simply moved on to a new talking point, once again demonstrating that she wasn’t interested in a conversation.

“So you’re OK as a doctor to harm a woman?” the protester said. Cassidy is a gastroenterologist.

“Wait a second, are you OK as a person to go ahead and to accept a non-corroborated charge to destroy someone’s life? If it destroyed your life, your son’s life or your husband’s?” the senator asked the woman.

Once again, she tried to change the subject, but Cassidy stopped her.

“Wait a second, answer my question,” he demanded.

The dumbfounded and stumped protester could only muster up the weak response of “I wouldn’t marry somebody that was a drunk.”

Kavanaugh admitted in his testimony that he likes beer, but so do a lot of Americans. Obviously, that doesn’t make them “drunks.”

Cassidy’s great responses might make the next protester pause before trying those tactics on him again.

Watch: Kanye Schools TMZ Founder for Asking Him To Take Off MAGA Hat During Interview

Rap megastar Kanye West doesn’t always have the most clear and concise political message, but one of the biggest takeaways from his recent political comments is that he is tired of liberals telling black people how they should feel.

And when West spoke to TMZ founder Harvey Levin on Tuesday, he shut down Levin’s attempts at controlling his political opinions — starting with the “Make America Great Again” hat West wore for the interview.

“I would love it, Kanye, if you would not wear that hat,” said Levin. “It would make me and a lot of other people feel better.”

Poor Levin. He was actually at least cordial toward Trump until disagreeing with the president over transgenders in the military, according to Spin. In early August, after Trump tangled with NBA star LeBron James, Levin published a personal tweet that declared “He’s got to go.”

Now, Levin is apparently so sensitive about the president that he actually wanted West to take off his pro-Trump hat in order for his feelings not to be hurt.

TRENDING: Huge Development: Feinstein Moves To Seal FBI Investigation as Case Collapses

The rapper made it clear that he was not going to comply to Levin’s demands.

“As an American, I support our president,” West said.

Check out this Twitter post from conservative commentator Candace Owens.

Should the left stop trying to control Kanye?

This is just one example of an elite liberal, like Levin, who has tried to police West’s political messages.

West has been highly critical of leftists for their attempts at “bullying” black people.

“I wanna cry right now. Black man in America, you’re supposed to keep what you feel inside right now. And the liberals bully you and tell you what you can and cannot wear,” West said in an unaired performance Saturday on “Saturday Night Live,” according to People.

West is hinting at something that goes far beyond his Trump hat.

Liberals are trying their hardest to stop black conservatives — and it isn’t just in the United States.

For example, Kehinde Andrews, a sociology professor of at Birmingham City University in Birmingham, England, took West’s political messages as an opportunity to tell black conservatives that they are wrong.

In his piece for the U.K. Independent, Andrews said West “is an advert for the fallacies at the heart of black conservatism.”

He also bluntly wrote, “Black conservatives are wrong.”

What is it that makes liberals so mad when they see black conservatives or black Trump supporters?

Perhaps liberals are upset they are unable to concoct false accusations of racism against Trump when prominent black Americans don a MAGA hat.

Even then, black conservatives face racist comments from liberals like anti-Trump rapper Snoop Dogg, who called West an “Uncle Tom” after his “SNL” performance, according to Breitbart.

West should be applauded for thinking freely and exposing liberal elites like Levin.

Our hats are off to him.

OUCH! Sarah Sanders Drop Kicks Jim Acosta: “I Don’t Have a Problem Stating Facts. I know That Is Something You Have a Problem With” (VIDEO)

The liberal Democrat media was very upset today after President Trump mocked Christine Ford’s sketchy accusations against Brett Kavanaugh last night during his rally in Mississippi.

Of course, this is the same corrupt media that has condemned Judge Kavanaugh from day one of the 36-year-old uncorroborated account by Christine Ford.

White House Press Secretary told CNN’s Jim Acosta that the president was just stating the facts last night.

Jim Acosta: You don’t have a problem defending the president’s comments last night? with what he said?

Sarah Sanders: I don’t have any problem stating facts. No. John?… I know that is something you probably do have a problem with.

ZING!

This never gets old. Thank you, Sarah!

Pro-Choice Man Filmed Kicking Woman at Pro-Life Protest

BY:

Pro-life demonstrators held an annual “Life Chain” event across Canada on Sept. 30, but one of the peaceful protesters ended up facing violence.

Marie-Claire Bissonnette spoke to a man who she said had been defacing the participants’ signs and clothes, including scribbling on the back of a 10-year-old girl, and after she talked for a few seconds, the man roundhouse kicked her in the shoulder. He claimed to be targeting the phone she was using to record him and he soon fled the scene, according to an article she wrote for LifeSiteNews, a pro-life publication.

Her phone survived the encounter and so she has shared the video online. In it, she confronts him about destroying private property by vandalizing the protesters’ signs and clothes, which he shrugs off before arguing that abortion should be legal to help rape victims. Then, he kicks her.

“[The man] forcefully roundhouse-kicked me in the shoulder, which sent my phone flying and I yelled for someone to call the police. In defence of his violence he claimed he’d meant to kick my phone, and then, as a fellow Life Chain participant dialed 9-1-1, he yanked off the ribbon I’d been wearing on my chest and ran away, heading east,” Bissonnette wrote.

She said the Canadian police were initially not helpful.

“I approached them and told them I was just assaulted and explained the situation,” she wrote. “I showed them the video. They replied, ‘What do you want us to do about it?’”

She said their indifference and comment that it wasn’t a “serious case of assault” kept her from filing a complaint. She had better luck later with other officers, and the police are now looking for the attacker.

“Two hours later, I started to feel pain in my shoulder where I’d been kicked and I contacted the police and filed a report with a different set of officers who were significantly more helpful, even offering a trauma support group after they visited my house and saw me still shaking with eyes red from crying. The police are still looking for my attacker and he has yet to be identified,” she wrote.

Bissonette pointed out that violence directed at pro-lifers is commonplace, and this is not the first time she’s been the victim:

I’ve participated in many public pro-life activities throughout my life. This isn’t the first time I’ve been attacked. Rocks have been thrown at me. I’ve been spat upon multiple times and pushed. Men have aggressively asked how I would like it if they raped me and forced me to have an abortion. There is a media-driven narrative that pro-life activists are violent and a danger to women. This is a bald-faced lie. The only violence or aggression I’ve witnessed in my many years in the pro-life movement comes entirely from pro-abortion activists, and yet it’s rarely, if ever, reported.

Bissonnette concluded the article by expressing her sympathy for sexual assault victims and her desire to debate the abortion issue in good faith.

“It is the mark of a truly liberal society that two people with diametrically opposed views on the most important of issues concerning life, death and fundamental rights can peacefully stand beside one another expressing their respective opinions in public,” she wrote.
