Flashback: Democrats Demand Sessions’ Resignation

Democrats are harshly criticizing President Donald Trump for asking Jeff Sessions to resign from his position as Attorney General, but they are forgetting that they were the ones demanding Sessions’ resignation to begin with.

Democrats fueled their Russian conspiracy theory and asked for Sessions’ resignation after it was revealed in March 2017 that Sessions attended a conference in 2016 set up by the Obama administration that Russian ambassadors also attended.

In March 2017, NBC News ran an article with the headline: “Democrats Demand Attorney General Jeff Sessions Resign Over Russian Meetings.”

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi were among the most vocal democrats calling for Sessions’ resignation.

“Sessions is not fit to serve as the top law enforcement officer of our country and must resign,” Pelosi said in a statement. “There must be an independent, bipartisan, outside commission to investigate the Trump political, personal and financial connections to the Russians.”

She also ranted about Sessions on Twitter.

“Anything less than resignation or removal from office is unacceptable,” she wrote.

Should Democrats be held accountable for what they wanted one year ago?

Pelosi now seems like Sessions’ biggest fan.

On Wednesday, Pelosi complained on Twitter about his resignation.

“It is impossible to read Attorney General Sessions’ firing as anything other than another blatant attempt by (President Donald Trump) to undermine & end Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation,” she wrote.

Warren also had strong words for Sessions in 2017.

“And we need Attorney General Jeff Sessions – who should have never been confirmed in the first place – to resign. We need it now,” she wrote.

Well, it looks like she eventually got what she wanted. Sessions resigned yesterday.

However, Warren is now claiming that Sessions’s resignation will lead to a “constitutional crisis.”

“(President Donald Trump’s) firing of Jeff Sessions brings us one step closer to a constitutional crisis. Congress must act to ensure that Special Counsel Mueller can do his job without interference,” she wrote Wednesday.

It almost seems like Democrats are political opportunists.

Rep. Linda Sanchez’ husband indicted over lavish family trips he paid for with federal funds

California Rep. Linda Sanchez has withdrawn her name for consideration as the chairman of the House Democratic caucus after the Department of Justice announced her husband had been indicted for misuse of funds. From CBS News:

The U.S. attorney in New Haven, Connecticut announced that a federal grand jury has returned two indictments charging five people with the theft of federal funds. One if the individuals charged is James Sullivan, who is married to California Democratic Rep. Linda Sanchez.

According to a government release, the U.S. attorney alleges that the defendants conspired to misuse an account that held funds provided by federal grants to the Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Corporation (CMEEC), a public corporation that allows municipal electric utilities in Connecticut to provide electricity.

According to the DOJ press release, the CMEEC had received $9 million from the Department of Energy between 2010 and 2015. The five indicted members allegedly had a slush fund and then used that money to arrange lavish out-of-state trips which involved no CMEEC business.

The first indictment alleges that Rankin, Sullivan, Bilda, DeMuzzio and Pryor planned, organized and directed lavish trips outside of Connecticut, including trips to the Kentucky Derby in 2015 and 2016, and to a luxury golf resort in West Virginia in 2015.  These trips did not relate to CMEEC business or CMEEC Member business, but were intended to personally benefit, compensate and reward the co-conspirators, their family members, friends and associates.  Costs for the trips, which totaled more than $800,000, included travel expenses, private chartered airfare, first-class hotel accommodations, meals, tickets to sporting events, golf fees, souvenirs and gifts.

The second indictment involves Sanchez as a beneficiary of the scheme [emphasis added]:

The second indictment charges Rankin and Sullivan with engaging in a conspiracy to pay for Sullivan’s personal expenses with CMEEC funds. It is alleged that Sullivan submitted his personal expenses on a regular basis via “expense reports” that Rankin approved and directed to be paid out of CMEEC funds. Sullivan’s personal expenses were charged to the CMEEC’ account for lobbying expenses, even though Sullivan was not a registered lobbyist for CMEEC. Between January 2012 and August 2015, Rankin authorized the payment of numerous personal expenses for Sullivan, including airfare for dozens of flights Sullivan took, trips for Sullivan and his family members to attend the Kentucky Derby in 2013, 2014, and 2015, and airfare for a flight for Sullivan’s wife to travel to Key West, Florida, in December 2014.

Sanchez’ attendance at the 2013 NS 2014 Kentucky Derby was first reported in January 2017. At the time her spokesman said, “Congresswoman Sanchez attended the event in her personal capacity as the spouse of a board member, which is expressly allowed under House rules.”

Earlier today, Sanchez released a statement saying she was withdrawing her bid for chairman of the House Democratic caucus. From Roll Call:

“Having served in leadership for the past two years I appreciate that the position has important responsibilities requiring extraordinary time and effort,” she said. “Unfortunately, an unexpected family matter requiring my attention compels me to withdraw my name as a candidate for chair of the Democratic Caucus.”

IRS Special Agent in Charge Kristina O’Connell said of the indictment, “The funds CMEEC allegedly misappropriated for these extravagant trips was motivated by greed, to the detriment of the member towns and ratepayers.” All five defendants in the case pleaded not guilty today.

Report: 81% of Parents Let Children Under 11 Watch YouTube Videos

81 percent of parents allow their children aged 11 and under to watch YouTube videos, while 34 percent claimed their children watch YouTube videos “regularly,” despite 61 percent of parents claiming to have encountered content “unsuitable for children” on the platform, according to a Pew Research survey.

“81% of all parents with children age 11 or younger say they ever let their child watch videos on YouTube. And 34% of parents say their child watches content on YouTube regularly,” reported Pew Research, Wednesday, adding that YouTube’s policies officially prohibit users from being under the age of 13.

“Around two-thirds of users (64%) say they at least sometimes encounter videos that seem obviously false or untrue while using the site, while 60% at least sometimes encounter videos that show people engaging in dangerous or troubling behavior,” Pew Research continued. “And among parents who let their young child watch content on the site, 61% say they have encountered content there that they felt was unsuitable for children.”

This year, YouTube Kids, an app from YouTube aimed specifically at children, was caught suggesting conspiracy theory videos about the moon landing, the Earth’s shape, and reptilians to young users, while last year, it was revealed that “disturbing” and sexualized content was being masked as suitable content for children.

Last November, the platform also came under fire after its search suggestion algorithm suggested, “how to have s*x with your kids,” “how to have s*x kids,” and “how to have s*x in school,” and in the same month, it was reported that YouTube’s system for reporting sexualized comments on videos for children had not been “functioning correctly” for over a year– prompting the BBC to note that “there could be up to 100,000 predatory accounts leaving indecent comments on videos.”

Facebook Delays Political Ad ID Checks After Complete Failure of System

Facebook has delayed its requirement for political advertisement purchasers to prove their identity, after users managed to cheat the system — purchasing ads indicating they were “paid for by” Mike Pence, U.S. Senators, and even ISIS — according to a report.

“We have learnt that some people may try to game the disclaimer system by entering inaccurate details and have been working to improve our review process to detect and prevent this kind of abuse,” declared a Facebook spokesman in a statement to the Guardian. “Once we have strengthened our process for ensuring the accuracy of disclaimers, we will be introducing enforcement systems to identify political advertisers and require them to go through the authorization process.”

“Since we announced our political ads authorization and Ad Library in October we have seen hundreds of people go through the authorization process. Authorized advertisers create a ‘paid for by’ disclaimer as part of this process and we require them to represent themselves accurately when they fill this in,” the statement continued, adding, “We will continue to roll out and refine these systems out over the next month so that we have a higher level of protection in place before next May’s [UK] local elections.”

Last month, Facebook, which is one of the three biggest online advertisers along with Google and Amazon, allowed Vice News to purchase Facebook advertisements posing as Vice President Mike Pence, ISIS, and all one hundred U.S. senators.

“Vice first successfully placed ads on Facebook using the name of a number of prominent political figures and groups including Vice President Mike Pence, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez, and even the terrorist group ISIS,” reported Breitbart Tech’s Lucas Nolan. “All of these ads were approved by Facebook with the names of these political figures and groups included within the ‘Paid For’ disclosure.”

Less than 10% Central American Migrants Arriving at Border Have Legitimate Asylum Claims

Less than 10 percent of the migrants arriving at the United States-Mexico border from Central America have legitimate asylum claims, new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data reveals.

As President Trump’s administration releases new asylum rules — blocking illegal border crossers from claiming asylum in the U.S. — DHS data notes that the overwhelming majority of Central American migrants who claim “credible fear” do not have legitimate asylum claims.

The issue of the country’s loose asylum laws — where foreign nationals can claim that they fear for their lives in their native country and be released into the U.S. until their day in court — has sparked debate as a caravan of 7,000 to 10,000 Central Americans heads to the U.S.

In Fiscal Year 2018, nearly 90 percent of Central American migrants who arrived at the border and claimed “credible fear” passed their initial asylum-seeking interview. Only nine percent of those migrants seeking asylum, though, are ultimately granted asylum.

In almost 50 percent of cases where Central American migrants passed their initial asylum-seeking screening, the migrant never appeared for their asylum hearing or did not even file an asylum application. These migrants likely find work in the U.S. and live as illegal aliens.

Thanks to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, asylum rules were reformed to prevent migrants from receiving asylum by claiming they are fleeing violence, gangs, or domestic abuse. These are not eligible asylum claims.

Every year the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million foreign nationals, with the vast majority deriving from family-based chain migration, whereby newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S. In 2016, the legal and illegal immigrant population reached a record high of 44 million. By 2023, the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that the legal and illegal immigrant population of the U.S. will make up nearly 15 percent of the entire U.S. population.

Districts with Large Foreign-Born Populations Sent Far-Left Democrats to Congress

Congressional Districts with booming foreign-born populations sent some of the most far-left, socialist Democrats to Congress in the midterm elections this week.

On Tuesday night, congressional districts that have been dramatically changed by mass immigration elected Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York, Ilhan Omar in Minnesota, and Ayanna Pressley in Massachusettes.

The congressional districts sending some of the most liberal, far-left Democrats to Congress have large foreign-born populations that do not seem to be leveling off anytime soon as the U.S. continues admitting more than 1.5 million foreign nationals every year.

Ocasio-Cortez’s district, New York’s 14th, has a foreign-born population that is now nearing almost 50 percent. About 45.8 percent of the district is foreign-born.

The self-described socialist is expected to champion far-left policies such as nationwide and hemispheric open borders, Medicare for all, and the abolishment of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

“I happen to believe that an agency that has repeatedly, systematically, and violently committed human rights abuses cannot be reformed,” Ocasio-Cortez has said of ICE agents.

Ocasio-Cortez won with almost 80 percent of the vote in the midterms.

In Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, Ilhan Omar — a Somali immigrant — won with 78 percent of the vote in midterm elections despite her far-left radical record.

Omar’s district has become increasingly foreign-born with now almost 15 percent of the region being born outside of the U.S. As MPR News notes, more than 35 percent of the district is nonwhite and there are 22,000 more foreign-born residents living in the district since Rep. Keith Ellison — the first Muslim elected to Congress — was first elected in 2008.

Omar, like Ocasio-Cortez, ran on a platform of Medicare for all, open borders, amnesty for all 12 to 22 million illegal aliens, and a federal guarantee of housing for all U.S. residents.

Omar has been accused of immigration fraud and marrying her brother.

Democrat Ayanna Pressley won her spot in the new Congress after beating out her Democrat primary opponent Mike Capuano, a 10-term congressman, in Massachusetts’ 7th District.

The district has a foreign-born population that now exceeds 30 percent of the total district. The region is also one of the most hard-left districts in the U.S.

When Pressley won the primary in September, the New York Times spoke to Boston political operatives who said the far-left Democrat’s election was “the biggest sign” that the Democrat Party of union workers and a white working class was coming to an end.

Political observers said the win was the biggest sign yet that a “new Boston” was emerging in the shadow of the city’s historically white, union-driven political establishment. This new electorate is powered by minorities, immigrants and young college students who have flocked to the city’s start-ups and tech-friendly industries. [Emphasis added]

“It felt like a good time to give someone who’s not a white male a shot,” said Linus Falck-Ytter, 26, a software developer, after voting in Cambridge. “And I liked that she’s more outspoken about helping underrepresented communities.” [Emphasis added]

In California’s 25th District, Democrat Katie Hill successfully unseated Republican Congressman Steve Knight. The district is increasingly a home to the state’s massive foreign-born population, with nearly 20 percent of the region’s residents being born outside the country.

Hill, who says she is bisexual, attacked Knight heavily on his immigration record, saying he was not open borders enough for the country, though he has long supported amnesty for illegal aliens and more foreign worker importation. Hill also supports Medicare for all.

As Breitbart News has reported, Democrats have increasingly gained strongholds in congressional districts due to booming foreign-born populations.

The process known as “chain migration,” for example — whereby newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S. with them, has imported more than nine million foreign nationals since 2005.

As Breitbart News reported, if chain migration is not ended — as President Trump has demanded — the U.S. electorate will forever be changed, with between seven to eight million new foreign-born individuals being eligible to vote because of chain migration, and overall an additional 15 million new foreign-born voters.

Rubio Charges Electoral Malfeasance in Democratic Florida Counties, Says Lawyers Trying to ‘Steal’ Races

Sen. Marco Rubio

BY:

Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) called attention Thursday to what he said are voting law violations by Democratic-leaning counties in the razor-thin gubernatorial and senatorial races in Florida, claiming on Twitter that partisan lawyers are trying to steal those contests.

Palm Beach and Broward Counties, both heavily Democratic, are still counting votes in the governor’s race between Democrat Andrew Gillum and Republican Ron DeSantis, as well as the U.S. Senate race between Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson and Rick Scott, the state’s Republican governor.

In a series of tweets, Rubio appeared to charge that votes were being held back in a tactical fashion by Broward officials.

Gillum conceded to DeSantis on Tuesday, but he has seemingly retracted the concession since then, with his campaign announcing, “it has become clear there are many more uncounted ballots than was originally reported.” Scott declared victory on Tuesday night as well, but Nelson has not conceded the race. The margins are close enough that both races appear headed for recounts.

Rebio tweeted that the law requires counties report their early voting and vote-by-mail within a half-hour of polls closing, but nearly two days after poll closings, the ballot-counting continues.

“#Florida law requires counties report early voting & vote-by-mail within 30 minutes after polls close. 43 hours after polls closed 2 Democrat strongholds #BrowardCounty & #PalmBeachCounty are still counting & refusing to disclose how many ballots they have left to count. #Sayfie,” he tweeted.

“Latest ballots dumped by #Broward &/or #PalmBeach flipped Ag Comm race to Dem & shaved another 4k+ from Scott’s lead in Senate race,” he wrote in a follow-up tweet. “Since 3am Wed slow drip from these 2 Dem controlled counties cut Scott lead from 54 to 17K. And they refuse to disclose # of ballots they have left.”

He also tweeted a thread saying Broward County specifically was engaged in malfeasance and linked to stories about past questionable practices by the voting department. It included a court ruling earlier this year that it had improperly handled mailed-in ballots, and another ruling that an elections supervisor there unlawfully destroyed ballots in a 2016 primary race.

“Now democrat lawyers are descending on #Florida. They have been very clear they aren’t here to make sure every vote is counted,” Rubio tweeted. “They are here to change the results of election; & #Broward is where they plan to do it.”

“A U.S. Senate seat & a statewide cabinet officer are now potentially in the hands of an elections supervisor with a history of incompetence & of blatant violations of state & federal laws,” he added. “It has opened the door for lawyers to come here & try to steal a seat in the U.S. Senate & Florida Cabinet.”

The Miami Herald reported Nelson’s campaign is bullish about catching Scott as Broward and Palm Beach Counties continue to tabulate votes, two days after Election Day:

As of Thursday morning, two voter-rich counties were still tabulating an unknown number of ballots.

Broward County, where Nelson received 68.9 percent of the votes, was still counting early-voting, vote-by-mail and Election Day ballots.

Palm Beach County, where Nelson received 58.4 percent of the votes, was still counting vote-by-mail ballots.

If the breakdown of these pending ballots is anything close to the results so far, Nelson should pick up more votes than Scott.

Man, 69, sues to lower age 20 years: ‘You can change your gender. Why not your age?’

Emile Ratelband, a 69-year-old Dutchman, is suing to legally change his age.
Ratelband reasons that he lives in a society where people can change their genders, so to him, it only makes sense that he can change his age.

But why?

Ratelband cites several reasons as to why he wants to lower his age from 69 years to 49 years.
The Dutchman, who is a motivational speaker and media personality in the Netherlands, says that he’d likely have better luck dating, gaining employment, and making large purchases, such as homes or vehicles, if he were younger on paper.
“When I’m 69, I am limited,” he explains. “If I’m 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work.”
Ratelband adds, "When I’m on Tinder and it says I’m 69, I don’t get an answer. When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position."
“You can change your name. You can change your gender. Why not your age?” he asks.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Ratelband says that he believes that he is a "young god," and should have the age to fit his physique, which he clearly believes is impressive.
Ratelband seems especially focused on getting his dating life back on track and says that he isn’t worried that women who see him in the flesh may be disappointed.
"Maybe they say, ‘You have weak muscles for 49 years,’" Ratelband muses. "And then I say, ‘But not that one, you know.’"
Ratelband argues that “nowhere are you so discriminated against as with your age.”
The Dutchman even says that he’ll give up his pension if the court rules in his favor, saying that as a 49-year-old man, he would no longer need it.
The Arnhem city court is expected to deliver a decision on Ratelband’s case over the next four weeks.
