Conservative Leaders Call on the Media to Apologize to the Covington Catholic Kids

RESTON, VA: On Tuesday, Media Research Center Founder and President Brent Bozell and 34 conservative leaders issued an open letter to the news media calling on them to apologize to the students from Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky for their vicious media coverage against the students following their attendance at the 2019 March for Life.

Over the past week, the liberal media and leftist activists viciously attacked Covington Catholic High School, falsely labeling the group of teenagers racists and bigots based on a deceptively edited viral video. The liberal media’s promotion of this false narrative incited death threats to these kids and their families. If not for the leftist media’s contempt for pro-lifers and President Trump, this “story” would have never reached the magnitude that it did.

We now know the kids of Covington Catholic were the real victims of the altercation in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Despite the truth, despite an apology from the Bishop, despite some apologies from some journalists, despite media retractions, despite the deletion of tweets, some leftists in the press and other liberal elites are still perpetuating the lies about the innocent Covington kids. This is bigotry and its own brand of hatred. It is an ongoing display of anti-Trump, anti-life, anti-Catholic, and anti-Christian bias. These are blatant bullying tactics designed to make conservatives and people of faith think twice before standing up for their beliefs or even having the audacity to wear a “MAGA” hat in public, let alone smile while doing it.

We denounce any media outlet that continues to so dishonestly attack the Covington Catholic kids and we call on them to apologize for the bullying behavior that continues to result in threats of violence against the kids, their school and their community

Texas town committed to green energy for 25 years, now residents are paying the price

Georgetown, Texas is a town of about 70,000 residents north of Austin. In 2012, the city committed to moving its energy grid to 100% renewables, a combination of wind and solar. Ever since then it has been touted as a model for the future and was even featured in the sequel to Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth.

But it turns out Georgetown residents aren’t thrilled with how things are working out in their town. When Georgetown committed to renewables it bought enough that it could cover peak summer usage plus a little extra for future population growth. It locked in 2012 prices by committing to long term contracts of up to 25 years. Of course, it wouldn’t need all of that power most of the year so the plan was to sell the excess to others on the Texas power grid who, it was thought, would be paying much higher prices for electricity produced from fossil fuels.

Unfortunately for Georgetown, the fracking boom happened and the United States produced so much cheap natural gas that we’ve become a net exporter of fossil fuels. While gas brought energy prices down over the past couple years everywhere else, Georgetown was locked into pricey contracts for more energy than it needed. And because everyone else was paying less, no one wanted to buy Georgetown’s excess green energy, which means the town is stuck paying for it to the tune of several million dollars.

This month, Georgetown residents learned they’ll be paying higher electricity bills this year thanks to this dynamic and, understandably, some of them are not happy about it. From KVUE:

“This was sold as an economic advantage because it was going to lock prices in for years to come,” Randy Barnaby, a Georgetown property owner, said.

But Barnaby and Georgetown resident Jonathan Dade are upset that’s not what’s happening, since the city just announced that customers will see an increase in their power cost adjustment.

According to city officials, it will be about $13 each month for the average customer.

“Every single dollar added to a bill on top of the rising property tax bill is eating into what we have to live off of,” Barnaby said.

“I’m going to see a couple hundred dollars out of my pocket every year now because of this,” Dade said.

“It was a mistake. It was a rash decision. It wasn’t thought through,” Barnaby said.

Texas Public Radio reports that the switch to green energy may not have helped consumers but it definitely helped Georgetown’s PR effort:

“Why did Georgetown buy so much extra electricity?” said Bill Peacock, director of research at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, a conservative think tank. “It was because they wanted to be able to go and tell the world they were 100 percent renewable, and they needed enough to cover their cost at peak during the summer.”

The city was featured in Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Sequel,” and Mayor Dale Ross, who identifies as Republican, often speaks at climate change conferences. A city-sponsored study estimated they earned $19 million in publicity from the attention.

As recently as last summer, Mayor Ross was bragging about the low energy prices in Georgetown even as it must have been clear the city was going to lose money because of going all in on green energy. If it hadn’t been for fracking Ross would probably still be bragging but just like the energy market itself, the dynamic has changed. Here’s a video of Al Gore visiting Georgetown in 2016 (h/t Dailly Caller). Everything Gore says here is right in theory, except that he didn’t allow for the possibility of new technology (fracking) changing the ball game.

Report: Apple FaceTime Bug Let Callers Watch Your iPhone’s Camera – Even if You Don’t Answer

A bug in Apple’s FaceTime allowed users to spy on others before their call had been answered, transmitting both audio and video from the call recipient’s device without their knowledge, according to a report.

Mashable reported this week that the bug “lets a caller hear and see a person on the other end of a FaceTime call before the call has been answered,” allowing you to “take a digital peek into another person’s life — completely without their knowledge.”

“First, you call someone on FaceTime. Next, before they answer, swipe up and add yourself to the call. That’s it. You can hear through the person’s phone, all without them answering the call,” explained Mashable reporter Jack Morse, who added he was able to successfully exploit the bug.

In a statement, an Apple spokesman claimed, “We’re aware of this issue and we have identified a fix that will be released in a software update later this week.”

Apple has positioned itself as a champion for data privacy in Silicon Valley. In an op-ed for Time Magazine, Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote:

In 2019, it’s time to stand up for the right to privacy—yours, mine, all of ours. Consumers shouldn’t have to tolerate another year of companies irresponsibly amassing huge user profiles, data breaches that seem out of control and the vanishing ability to control our own digital lives. This problem is solvable—it isn’t too big, too challenging or too late. Innovation, breakthrough ideas and great features can go hand in hand with user privacy—and they must. Realizing technology’s potential depends on it.

Until the bug has been fixed by Apple, tech experts are suggesting users disable Facetime, or cover the camera on the front of their phone.

VIDEO=> Antifa Leftist In “Smash The Patriarchy” Shirt SHOT By Police After Pulling GUN At Middle School

A person (who apparently uses they/them/their pronouns) was ventilated by police officers at Cascade Middle School in Eugene, Oregon, after they pulled a gun on the officers who were attempting to take them into custody. The entire incident was captured by body cameras worn by the police officers.

The ma’an, identified as Charlie Landeros, can be seen wearing a shirt that reads “Smash The Patriarchy And Chill” as police are wrestling them to the ground. Landeros draws a handgun from their waistband, and the two officers try to gain control of their arm, as Landeros points the gun at the officers. Then the cops opened fire.

The unedited video is courtesy of KATU News:

Landeros was a well known leftist activist in the Eugene, having led and participated in protests, specifically at University Of Oregon.

Charles Landeros (left) holds a megaphone during a protest at University of Oregon during the college president’s State Of University address in 2017. Photo courtesy of student newspaper Daily Emerald.

According to the U of O student newspaper, The Daily Emerald, Landeros was also a member of an armed antifa group known as “Community Armed Self Defense.”

From the Daily Emerald:

Landeros, who used they/them/theirs pronouns, led a student protest in October 2017 that disrupted UO President Michael Schill’s state of the university address. Landeros and other protestors characterized Schill as a CEO and said that the purpose of the protest was to “empower marginalized students on campus.”

Landeros was a member of Community Armed Self Defense, a group that was created as a “new liberatory and inclusive space for all oppressed peoples to learn about armed self-defense,” according to the group’s Facebook page, which is no longer publicly available on Facebook as of 4 p.m. Saturday.

Community Armed Self Defense’s Facebook page said that they could not count on the police to protect marginalized people, and that firearms help marginalized groups protect themselves.

“The police are not here to protect us. They are more likely to harm us themselves than they are to ‘serve or protect’ us,” the group wrote on their Facebook page description.

The Daily Emerald had also written several stories involving Landeros’s antics when they led students to protest the university’s president during a speech. They apparently faced code of conduct violations and were disciplined by the university. According to another issue of the Emerald, they appealed these sanctions but were ultimately denied relief.

KATU news reports that officers involved acted appropriately and the Lane County District Attorney will not pursue charges against them. Evidently there was some sort of custody covfefe over Landeros’s children, and that’s why they were at the school.

One organization that Landeros was involved with is the Civil Liberties Defence Center, which wrote a long eulogy on their site. Their entire statement reads:

“Do not let anyone quench your fire. Do not let them dismiss your love nor pacify your rage. My love, do not water yourself down.” – Love and Rage, poem by Charlie Landeros. #LoveAndRage4Charlie

Charles (Charlie) Landeros was a 30-year-old person who was shot and killed by unknown Eugene police officer(s) on the morning of January 11, 2019.  Charlie was born in Hong Kong, and migrated with their*[1]family to the US, where Charlie was raised on Kalapuya land in Eugene, Oregon. Charlie attended Cascade Middle School, also where they were tragically killed yesterday, and graduated from Willamette High School, enlisted in the Army at age 17. Upon being honorably discharged from the military, they attended the University of Oregon.  Charlie was most proud of being a parent to two daughters ages 10 and 12.

In addition to the children, Charlie Landeros leaves behind their partner, parents, a younger brother, and numerous other family members and friends. “The biggest thing is trying to figure out how to live without my older sibling, my lifelong support. Charlie has always been there for me when I needed them, but never again. I have accepted this, but I still don’t know how to go from here,” said Joesph Landeros, Charlie’s brother.

The details of this homicide are still largely unknown.  What is known is that Charlie had recently enrolled their daughter at Cascade Middle school as the custodial parent. The school contacted Charlie regarding their child’s safety, and Charlie went to the school to ensure the safety of this child.  We also know that Charlie was shot multiple times by Eugene Police Officer(s), several feet in front of the main entrance to the school.

The family of the deceased requests that the community recognize that deaths like Charlie’s are neither accidental or uncommon. “Charlie was the beating heart of every project they were involved in, the beating heart of our community,” said Ariel, Charlie’s partner. “We will need to learn how to regrow from that, because Charlie’s reach was so big.”

While people of color comprise 38.5 percent of the U.S. population, they make up 51.5 percent of those killed by police.  In spite of this staggering statistic, there is no national database that police departments must submit a record to when they complete an investigation after an officer shoots a civilian.

Despite law enforcement’s willful ignorance, in the last several years there have been far too many headlines describing people of color being shot and killed by police. The lesson learned: the experience of dealing with police in America is different for whites and nonwhites. Charlie was of mixed Filipino and Mexican descent.

Unlike the investigation into the police shooting death of fellow veteran Brian Babb, the family demands that this investigation be transparent, unbiased and thorough.

Donations to fund the independent investigation into Charlie’s homicide by police can be made at:  https://cldc.org/donate/ and please note that your donation is in memory of Charlie Landeros.

[1]* Charlie’s gender pronouns are they/theirs.

(Do you know how hard it is to avoid using “he” and “his” through this story? I’m sure all of the “they” and “their” references will confuse many readers.)

Blackout: Why Won’t TV News Talk About NY’s New Abortion Law?

It’s been a full week since the state of New York legalized late-term abortions, yet none of the major national TV networks has bothered to mention the story. This deafening silence is in stark contrast to the alarmist coverage seen when a state passes legislation that the media see as curtailing “abortion rights.”

If the media are looking for controversy, this legislation has more than enough for journalists to sink their teeth into. The new law has been widely condemned by prominent pro-life organizations, and it has even ignited a debate within the Catholic Church about excommunicating Andrew Cuomo, the state’s governor who signed the bill into law. New York-based Cardinal Timothy Dolan has called it a “ghoulish radical abortion-expansion law, which allows for an abortion right up to the moment of birth.”

An analysis by the Media Research Center found that New York’s Reproductive Health Act has not received a second of airtime on any of the major broadcast (ABC, CBS, NBC) or liberal cable news networks (CNN, MSNBC) since it was signed into law on January 22. The new legislation legalizes abortion after 24 weeks of pregnancy in some cases, and it permits healthcare workers other than abortion doctors to terminate pregnancies.

The media reaction was completely different when the Texas State Senate in 2013 was considering a bill that would have criminalized abortion after 20 weeks. Then, broadcast networks rushed to cover the story, focusing on the left-wing opponents of the masure. After the bill was struck down, ABC’s Good Morning America ran a victorious segment touting the “firestorm of protests.”

The media hype back then propelled hitherto unknown Texas Democratic State Senator Wendy Davis to (fleeting) national prominence, with networks applaudinging her 11-hour filibuster of the bill as “defiant” and “passionate.”

Davis was dubbed a “national political star” by CBS This Morning anchor Norah O’Donnell, and MSNBC’s Chris Hayes celebrated the bill’s “absolutely epic” defeat as an “incredible 24 hours of democracy on display in the United States of America.”

The 2013 bill that failed to pass in Texas was, in many ways, the New York Reproductive Health Act’s opposite. Were the national media merely drawn to controversy, these two measures would both have drawn heavy coverage. Instead, their utter silence about New York’s radical new law makes the press’s agenda glaringly obvious.

After 4 Officers Shot, Furious Police Union Pres. Lays into Media, Antifa-Types. ‘Sick & Tired of Dirtbags Trying To Take Our Lives… the Ones Spreading Rhetoric That Police Officers Are the Enemy…’

Houston Police Officers’ Union President Joe Gamaldi slammed “dirtbags” who spread anti-law enforcement rhetoric after four Houston police officers were shot Monday night during a drug raid.

The shootout took place while officers were investigating a drug case the southeast section of the city, according to ABC News.

They were met with gunfire as soon as they reached the door of the home they were targeting. Four were wounded immediately, with two shot in the neck, according to CNN.

Two suspects were found dead at the scene.

Initial reports indicated five officers had been shot, but CNN reported that the five had suffered a knee injury.

TRENDING: Watch: Feminist Goes Berserk at LA Woman’s March, Then Man in MAGA Hat Shows Up

Speaking at the hospital, Gamaldi exploded on those who support anti-cop rhetoric.

“We are sick and tired of having targets on our back,” he said.

Police officers have been under fire from the left in recent years, especially with protests from so-called antifa thugs and NFL players like Colin Kaepernick.

The media only fuels the left’s outrage by zealously reporting on alleged incidents of police brutality.

But the media doesn’t report on police officers who’ve been brutalized with anywhere near the same level of interest.

In 2018, 144 police officers died.

RELATED: NHL Team Gives Ultimate Tribute To Law Enforcement, Shows Anthem Kneelers What Respect Looks Like

That’s a 12 percent increase from the 129 police officers who died in 2017.

“We are sick and tired of having dirtbags trying to take our lives when all we’re trying to do is protect this community and protect our families,” Gamaldi said. “Enough is enough.”

It’s obvious that Gamaldi was referring to antifa and the left-wing media.

Liberals seem to have no respect for the law — they embrace illegal immigration, want to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and even criticize police officers at every opportunity.

Do you think the media is anti-cop?

When NFL players were protesting “police brutality,” the establishment media rarely stopped to clarify that the overwhelming majority of police officers are good people dealing with some of the most dangerous elements in society.

Because of the left’s blatant anti-cop rhetoric, tragedies are more likely to happen.

When the left-wing establishment media undermines the law, some criminals see a green light to do whatever they please.

And Monday’s shooting in Houston is exactly the result to expect.

Residents of Small US Town Send Grave Warning After Governor Claims Border Crisis Doesn’t Exist

When New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham visited the United States’ southern border, she couldn’t be happier.

During a trip to southern New Mexico earlier this year, the Democratic leader proudly proclaimed, “I haven’t seen anything to indicate that we have an emerging crisis here at the border,” according to the Great Falls Tribune.

She might have had a different perspective had she gone farther west in the state.

Residents of the unincorporated community of Hachita, in the southwest corner of New Mexico, live with the realities of the border crisis every day. As the last vestige of civilization before Highway 81 ends at a border entry point, the town has become a hub for illegal immigration.

Every noise now has the potential to leave residents on edge. Some even hear people talking outside of their houses, a terrifying prospect in such a remote area.

TRENDING: Sarah Sanders Sets the Date, Hits Dems With Ultimatum over Border Wall: ‘In 21 Days’

“I’ve heard stuff and it makes me wonder. I don’t want to look outside, because you never what’s outside your window,” retiree Bonnie Denzler told the Tribune. “It’s really disconcerting because you don’t know what’s going on.”

She also has a pointed message for the governor.

“She needs to come down here to this area — to see how wide open it is and how easy it is for people to jump the fence. People need to see what’s down here and that it’s not as safe as they’re spouting it is,” Denzler said.

The border crossing in New Mexico appears to be relatively easy, prompting groups of over 100 to make the trek. More than 26 of these groups have been apprehended since last October.

Do you think we need a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border?

Border Patrol officials say many of the illegals coming over in mass numbers are trying to get caught.

Once arrested, groups are taken to a Border Patrol station. There, they are likely to receive unfettered access to water, food and health care. Safely away from the harsh terrain and desert climate, they then begin the process of applying for asylum.

Amanda Adame, the owner of a 24,000-acre ranch, said not all of those passing through the area are harmless asylum seekers. After spotting armed men dressed entirely in camouflage milling around one of her water tanks, she said she became worried the gunmen would follow her home.

“By the time they get to my house,” Adame told the Tribune, “the Border Patrol is not going to catch them. There’s too much space.”

The sparse population and wide open spaces of southern New Mexico lend the illegals a natural advantage, leaving Border Patrol officers scrambling to cover a vast area with limited staff and funding.

RELATED: County Manager in NM Says Illegal Invasion’s So Bad Citizens Can’t Get Medical Treatment They Normally Do

Abandoned buildings, which the town has plenty of, act as rest areas for those illegally crossing the southern border. This has prompted many in Hachita to get dogs. This only goes so far, however.

With groups numbering over 100 illegals common, even the most routine of smuggling operations outnumbers the town’s double-digit population.

A tall and strong border wall wouldn’t only help the citizens of Hachita — it could mean the difference between life and death.

TED MALLOCH: The State of Our Union

TED MALLOCH: The State of Our Union

The State of Our Union

Ted Malloch, coauthor of America’s Spiritual Capital

On January 29th President Trump was supposed to go to Congress and deliver his annual State of the Union speech.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to cancel it but he would have none of that, so she disinvited him until the shutdown is over.

Now it is over but it is not yet scheduled.

Why?

He should have played her for what she is a loser and a petty person and given the address on his time and at a place of his choosing.

It would behoove him to either give that constitutionally described and mandated address in the US Senate chambers or in another State capital.

Why let Pelosi and the radical Dems control and box him in?

In that address he could outline where we have come and where we will go under his leadership this coming year.

It is precisely what all Presidents’ are called to do.

He should take a bow for what has been accomplished and also signal how much more he hopes to achieve in the year ahead.
Few Presidents have been so productive.

This next year and then the (re) election in 2020 is a critical and historic crossroads and we desperately need his strong leadership.

We need it on a range of policies and also as importantly, in spirit.

America is a center-right polity and the modern exemplar of the Judeo-Christian heritage of spiritual capital.

Trump realizes this truth. He should say so, loud and clear.

Let me present two theses in this regard and demonstrate what they mean for this president’s leadership.

He should deploy them and take the high ground.

The first thesis concerns the logic of modernity.

What distinguishes modernity is the Technological Project, the transformation of nature for human betterment as opposed to fatalistic conformity.

The technological project requires inner-directed individuals and free market economies that maximize both competition and innovation.

Trump confesses this, too.

Say so loud and clear for the country to hear, not just his base.

Free market economies operate best with limited government (Montesquieu’s commercial republic and Madison’s Federalist #10).

Limited government can only be maintained under the rule of law.

The rule of law can only be sustained if there is a larger cultural context that celebrates responsible individual autonomy.

Finally, responsible individual autonomy presupposes a larger ontological claim about human freedom or free will that requires a theological argument.

Moreover, personal autonomy avoids self-destruction and adds a spiritual content to the technological project itself when the responsible use of freedom leads to helping to fulfill God’s plan by eliminating suffering and promoting freedom in and for others.

Recognizing, pursuing, and sustaining autonomy are the spiritual quests of modernity and the technological project, which is best, evidenced, in the on-going American experiment.

The ultimate rationale for the technological project is not material comfort or consumer satisfaction, but the production of the means of accomplishment.

To discover that our greatest sense of fulfillment comes from freely imposing order on ourselves in order to impose a creative order on the world is perhaps the closest way of coming to know purpose.

Three considerations lead us to maintain that responsible personal autonomy requires deep support.

First, personal autonomy presupposes free will.

This amounts to saying that there is no naturalistic (and scientific) explanation of the ultimate truths about who we are.

Second, we understand ourselves as historical beings, but history does not form a self-explanatory system.

Our interpretation of the whole human drama depends on an intimately personal decision concerning the part we mean to play in it.

In the end, this is a religious decision, not a scientific or scholarly one.

Trump needs to connect with the religious communities in America. Underscore pluralism and freedom of conscience—the pillars of America

Finally, sustaining our autonomy under trying circumstances requires stamina. Since naturalism and scientism fail, spirituality in some important sense emerges as the only discipline that can provide ultimate comprehension.

Trump can regain ground by calling on America’s spirit.

The second thesis is the documented history of how settlers, pioneers and immigrants to the United States brought precisely this larger view to America, nourished it, and sustained it.

Trump again needs to restate America’s journey with destiny.

The most important historical development in the last four hundred years has been the rise of the technological project (TP).

The TP, not the market, is the starting point for our American narrative, because, although there have always been markets, it is only since the 17th century that markets have come to play such a dominant role in our lives.

It is the presence of the TP that explains the centrality of those markets.

The TP is the control of nature for human benefit.

The TP radically changed the way people in the West viewed the world and their relationship to the world; and led to fundamental changes in the major institutions of the West (economic, political, legal, and social); which led to the expansion of the West and its domination of the non-Western world, and finally to the internationalization of Western institutions.

The following claims with regard to the TP can be made:

a. It is an irreversible historical fact [Protester’s are forced to use technology in order to mount a protest against it, especially cell phones, the internet, and computers].
b. Abandonment of the TP would have catastrophic consequences for humanity and threaten its very existence.
c. To the extent that the TP creates environmental and other kinds of problems we are now irrevocably committed to using future developments in the TP to address and hopefully solve those problems.

d. Those cultures which have most fully embraced the TP (including military technology) have come to dominate the world and to spread the TP. The spread has not been a matter of the powerful imposing on the weak; the weak have largely come to embrace the project on their own.
e. The thorny issues of globalization would not have developed outside of the context of the technological project.

This leads to the following tension and paradox which Trump should underscore: domestically the government is to maintain a low profile and fairly passive supporting role for commerce but in the international context the government is to promote actively the entire panoply of the Technological Project, Free Market Economies, Limited Government, and the Rule of Law.

To intervene in foreign affairs to bring about this result is incumbent upon free governments.

It is no use pretending that the implications could be otherwise. But Trump is not a neocon interventionist, so he needs to say how American power will be used and who will pay for it.

Our American President abides by and within the established heritage of America’s long established spiritual capital.

He cannot deny it, reject it, or pretend it away. It is our legacy.

The democratic ideal of ‘interventionist socialism’ we have toyed with over recent years, now front and center in the Democrat party, surely must come to an end, as it is totally at odds with the essence of America’s spiritual capital.

President Trump fully needs to articulate America’s spiritual capital in all the senses here described.

In my opinion, Trump is the leader we need to not only endorse but to pray for.

All of us, not just conservatives, need to rally behind him now.

He alone has the business acumen; he alone has the executive experience; he alone articulates all of the necessary ingredients here spelled out.

He understands the Technological Project, the free economy of markets, the rule of law and the limits to government.

He is making America greater and putting it first.

We desperately need a leader, one in America’s best spiritual tradition, to get us through the current malaise and economic chaos.

But make no mistake, he is under attack and so is America.

We should support our President and use the framework here laid out to inform that support for a stronger Union

In so doing we will also increase the legacy of America’s spiritual capital and renew its spirit.

Exclusive–Angel Mom: Kamala Harris’ Staff Threatened to Call Capitol Police When Angel Families Visited Her Office

Angel Mom Maureen Maloney, the vice president of Advocates for Victims of Illegal Alien Crime (AVIAC), says Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA)’s staff threatened to call Capitol Police when Angel Families visited her Senate office in Washington, DC, this month.

Maloney — whose 23 years-old son, Matthew Denice, was killed in August 2011 by an illegal alien who ran over him while drunk driving without a license — told SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Tonight that the staff of Democrat 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris threatened to call Capitol Police when Angel Families visited the offices of prominent House and Senate Democrats to discuss illegal alien crime.

Meanwhile, Maloney told Breitbart News Senior Editors-at-Large Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak that Harris makes it known that illegal aliens are welcome in her office.

“So we went past her office about two weeks ago, we were in D.C. to see … Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer, and Kamala Harris, in front of her office, has a big welcome sign in Spanish that says ‘Dreamers Are Welcome,’” Maloney said.

MANSOUR: Were you welcome?

MALONEY: No, in fact two of the people I was with, they threatened to call Capitol Police on them if they didn’t leave.

MANSOUR: Kamala Harris’ staff threatened to call the police on you?

MALONEY: Yes.

In her 2020 presidential campaign kickoff speech in Oakland, California, Harris portrayed herself as an advocate for crime victims and thanked illegal aliens for visiting lawmakers in Washington, D.C.

You see, in our system of justice, we believe that harm against any one of us is harm against all of us. That’s why when we file a case, it’s not filed in the name of the victim. It reads, “The People.” This is a point I have often explained to console and counsel survivors of crime, people who faced great harm. Often at the hands of someone they trust – be it a relative or a bank or a big corporation. I would remind them. You are not invisible. We all stand together. [Emphasis added]

During the health care fight, I saw parents and children with grave illnesses walk the halls of the United States Congress, families who had traveled across the country at incredible sacrifice. They came to our nation’s capital believing that if their stories were heard, and if they were seen, their leaders would do the right thing. I saw the same thing with our Dreamers. They came by the thousands. By plane, train, and automobile. I’m sure they were sleeping ten-deep on someone’s living room floor. [Emphasis added]

Maloney said it is illegal aliens who have the upper hand against their American victims, not only when it comes to trying to speak with lawmakers, but also in the court system.

“Illegal aliens are treated with such leniency compared to American citizens. It’s really sickening what goes on in the courts,” Maloney said.

Harris and other elected Democrat lawmakers are “absolutely not” working on behalf of illegal alien crime victims, Maloney said, noting that she and other Angel Families have been unable to meet with Democrats about the immigration issue for years.

“My senators up here, Sen. Markey and Sen. Warren, I’ve tried for years to get an appointment to meet with them. They’re unable to meet with people here in Massachusetts and down in Washington,” Maloney said. “When I’ve been down in Washington to meet with Democrat leaders, they’re not available. Members of AVIAC have been trying to meet with Nancy Pelosi as long as we’ve been in existence and they’ve made public pleas to meet with her and she won’t meet with any of us.”

“No, I don’t feel that the Democrats are representing my family at all,” Maloney said.
