In November 2018 The Guardian reported on  group of Google employees who published an open letter calling on their employer to cancel its plans to build a censored search engine for China.   Google employees were very upset that Google’s Project Dragonfly would allow the Chinese government to blacklist certain search terms.

But their blacklist operations were not just in China.

It is obvious that Google, Facebook and Twitter are using their own political blacklists to censor and diminish traffic to prominent conservative publishers and their supporters.

If you search Google for prominent conservative voices including: Mike Cernovich, Joe diGenova, Jack Posobiec or Gateway Pundit you will see hit pieces and biased attacks.

The Gateway Pundit is one of the largest, most accurate and most influential publishers in the country today.  But earlier this year if you searched Google for “Gateway Pundit” the first item that popped up was a hit piece on The Gateway Pundit followed by several more links that smeared our website.

You had to go to the fifth item before you could even find a link to our website.

On Wednesday Project Veritas released leaked documents from a Google insider that shows The Gateway Pundit, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Newsbusters, American Thinker, MRCTV, American Lookout, Twitchy, Daily Caller, Natural News, The Rebel Media, LifeNews, BizPac Review, YoungCons and many others are being targeted, censored, blacklisted and silenced by Google.

It doesn’t matter if you are pro-Tump or a Never Trumper– as long as you are conservative you made their list.

One of the documents includes “news black list site for google now.”

On Wednesday, Senator Ted Cruz, noting a report that Rev. Al Sharpton is considering throwing his hat in the ring as one more name on the endless list of candidates running for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, offered a hilarious idea for one more candidate who could fill out the Democratic field. Cruz tweeted, “What America needs: more Dem presidential candidates! Just a reminder, under the 22nd Amendment, Jimmy Carter’s still eligible for another term.”

With so many millions of Americans on welfare and so much debt accruing every year, why in the world would we invite new people to come to this country and use welfare? Why would we choose those who would use welfare when there are so many in the pool of potential immigrants who will not?

These rhetorical questions are so unassailable and so rooted in a principle as old as our Founding that proponents of mixing welfare with open borders are now resorting to a new tactic. They are contending that Trump’s very modest policy to enforce just a part of the pubic charge law is against … the poem on the Statue of Liberty!

Liberals in the media are breathlessly accusing the Trump administration of violating the spirit of “The New Colossus,” a poem written by Emma Lazarus in 1883 and placed on a plaque in the Statue of Liberty 20 years later. In their minds, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” means “yearning to get on welfare.”

The immigration laws of Emma Lazarus’ time were stricter than Trump’s enforcement

First, as I’ve noted with exhaustive research in chapter 6 of Stolen Sovereignty, in our entire history from the first colonial-era public charge laws in Massachusetts to the laws written by the federal government in 1882, there was an ironclad rule that immigrants should never be a burden on America. In fact, just one year before the publishing of the poem, Congress passed the 1882 Immigration Act. The bill instructed Treasury officials to inspect immigrant ships for public charges. “If on such examination there shall be found among such passengers any convict, lunatic, idiot, or any person unable to take care of himself or herself without becoming a public charge … such persons shall not be permitted to land,” states section 2 of the act.

They weren’t even allowed to step foot in the country! Section 4 of the bill required that the cost of returning public charges be “borne by the owners of the vessels in which they came.”

In 1885, two years after the poem was published, Congress passed the Contract Labor Law of 1885, which forbade advertising or transporting immigrants to come here for cheap labor. Section 5 of that act explicitly exempted higher-skilled professionals from this law.

In 1891, Congress added to existing categories of inadmissibility those convicted of a “misdemeanor involving moral turpitude” (in addition to felonies), polygamists, paupers, and those suffering from contagious diseases. In addition to a full interview with an immigration official, all immigrants had to undergo a medical exam, and anyone found to have a contagious disease was immediately quarantined and then deported. Also, all immigrants who were found to be a public charge up to a year after being legally admitted into the country could be deported under this bill.

In 1903, the very year the poem was placed on the Statue of Liberty, Congress added four new categories of inadmissibles: anarchists, people with epilepsy, “professional beggars,” and those who import prostitutes.

Thus, if the Left somehow wants to use history to justify its position, the historical record shows that our values and the policies supporting them were completely opposite what the Left claims.

The poem offers the liberty with which even the poor can prosper — from their own work, not handouts

So what’s with the poem? Why was it prominently displayed on the Statue of Liberty where immigrants came through Ellis Island?

The poem, “The New Colossus,” wasn’t placed on the statute until 17 years after it was built, as a tribute to the Enlightenment of America’s Founding. The Colossus of Rhodes was a monument of the Greek sun god Helios, and the poem specifically rejects that old Colossus: “Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame.”

Perhaps nobody explained the true meaning of “The New Colossus” and how it applied to American immigrants better than Glenn Beck during his keynote address at CPAC in 2010:

“If you read it like that and you really think it through, what are we? A hospital? Is the Statue of Liberty saying to Europe, ‘Guys, Europe, you’re never gonna make it with all that refuse. Send it over to me. We’ll take care of it over here. … You’re never going to succeed with all that riff-raff. Come on, send it over here. You guys can get busy and do some work.’ That’s not what it means. … Remember, the Statue of Liberty was mocking the old system. The Statue of Liberty was used to ignite inside the French: Liberty! Look at America! Look what they’re doing!”

Proponents of “poem jurisprudence” are missing the operative words: “yearning to breathe free.” Freedom means one is unshackled by government restrictions but also by government subsidies. There was no welfare when Emma Lazarus wrote that poem, nor did it exist throughout the entire duration of the Great Wave of immigration. By definition, someone coming here during that era, even if they were currently poor, was engaging in a risky act of rugged individualism whereby they had to sink or swim on their own.

As such, the poem was a taunt to Europe’s lack of enlightened freedom and entrepreneurism, as Glenn Beck was suggesting. As if to say “give us even your tired and poor, and they will prosper here,” because that is precisely what the true freedom of a constitutional republic means.

This is why, according to historian Barry Moreno, as quoted in the New York Times, the Statue of Liberty itself “was never built for immigrants.”

Moreno noted that it was “built to pay tribute to the United States of America, the Declaration of Independence, American democracy, and democracy throughout the world. It honored the end of slavery, honored the end of all sorts of tyranny and also friendship between France and America.” It was only after the immigration wave started and that was the first thing immigrants saw when docking in New York that it gradually became associated with immigration.

The statue was designated as a national monument by President Coolidge Oct. 15, 1924, just five months after he signed the bill shutting off the Great Wave. A real understanding of the need for gradual, absorbable immigration of people ready to adapt to America and embrace our values made that the perfect time for such a designation. The statue was a symbol of America’s values lighting up the world. Immigration, when managed properly, is part of that. When managed irresponsibly, it undermines the core of what has made America unique among the other nations since its Founding.

Americans free of socialism can make prosperity out of poverty. Welfare just perpetuates the poverty  

By all our history and law, what the Left is doing by marrying mass migration with a mass welfare state that didn’t exist at the time the statue was built or the poem written is the opposite of what the poem calls for. Indeed, the statue was originally referred to as “Liberty Enlightening the World,” meaning it was about America enlightening the rest of the world with liberty. Liberty, as understood by the people of that era, never included even the redistribution of wealth among the citizens of this country, much less redistributing it to the citizens of the rest of the world.

Even after the statue became associated with immigration and the poem placed on it, the immigrants we invited in at the time were people who would internalize true liberty embodied in our constitutional values, as expressed by John Quincy Adams in an 1819 letter to a German dignitary contemplating immigration when Adams was secretary of state in the Monroe administration:

“This is a land, not of privileges, but of equal rights. Privileges are granted by European sovereigns to particular classes of individuals, for purposes of general policy; but the general impression here is that privileges granted to one denomination of people, can very seldom be discriminated from erosions of the rights of others. Emigrants from Germany, therefore, or from elsewhere, coming here, are not to expect favors from the governments.”

Wealth redistribution through welfare was not what our leaders had in mind for the country, for immigration, or for the symbolism of liberty in the statue. Now that we are offering every welfare program under the sun, people who come here poor are very consequential to the American taxpayer. It means they won’t necessarily experience upward mobility because of the crutch of welfare. And the data show it.

Not only are 63 percent of immigrant-run households on welfare, as opposed to 35 percent of American-born households, according to the Center for Immigration Studies, but we aren’t seeing upward mobility for many of them over time. The CIS actually found that while the usage of welfare among those immigrants here less than 10 years was 49.6 percent, the rate of welfare usage among immigrant households here for more than 10 years was 69.6 percent. A large part of that is due to the bar against most immigrants receiving welfare for the first five years, but it proves the point that welfare breeds dependency, not prosperity, as envisioned by the poem under a model truly built on freedom.

It’s not just that our immigrants were different during the Great Wave, it’s that the America that molded their characters and experiences here was different. It was truly free. As former Democrat Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan wrote in 1986, contrary to the nostalgic revisionism of some of his colleagues regarding the poem on the Statue of Liberty, the immigrants of the Great Wave “were not the wretched refuse of anybody’s shores.” Moynihan described them, in stark contrast to many from today’s massive wave, as “extraordinary, enterprising, and self-sufficient folk, who knew exactly what they were doing, and doing it quite on their own, thank you very much.”

Obviously, there are still immigrants today who fit that description. But mass chain migration, which now benefits mainly countries whose nationals have a high prevalence of welfare usage, mixed with a massive welfare state, is an open invitation to many around the world to join Americans who never get off welfare and experience a very different type of freedom than what enticed the immigrants of the late 19^th century. Our goal is to bring in only the freedom- and independence-loving type of immigrants.

Thus, the poem on the Statue of Liberty is actually more relevant today than ever before. The media is making fun of Ken Cuccinelli tweaking the poem by saying, “Give me your tired and your poor who can stand on their own two feet. And who will not become a public charge.” But that is actually the application of the poem. The poem meant that America on its own, an America without welfare, offers the liberty that allows poor people to become prosperous.

Look at how European socialism makes poor of the rich! Well, we can make rich of the poor, provided that we don’t adopt Europe’s socialism alongside Western Europe’s current immigration policies. 1880s immigration works when immigrants have a free America to which to come to. That America no longer exists.

The Google insider also spoke with investigative journalist Sara Carter on Google’s manipulation of particular words, phrases and contexts to promote, alter, reference or manipulate perceptions of Internet content.

The Google insider already turned over a laptop and several documents to the Department of Justice. He claims the documents he turned over to the DOJ provide proof that Google has been manipulating the algorithms and the evidence of how it was done.

According to Sara Carter:

Google CEO Sundar Pichai told the House Judiciary Committee in December, 2018, that the search engine was not biased against conservatives. Pichai explained what algorithm’s are said Google’s algorithm was not offensive to conservatives because its artificial intelligence does not operate in that manner. He told lawmakers, “things like relevance, freshness, popularity, how other people are using it” are what drives the search results. Pichai said even if his programmers were anti-Republican, the process is so intricate that the artificial intelligence could not be manipulated and it was to complicated to train the algorithm to fit their bias…

…“I honestly think that a free market can fix this issue,” he told this reporter at a meeting in Washington D.C. “The issue is that the free market has been distorted and what’s happened is that the distortion is so grotesque and the engineering is so repulsive, all we need to do is just expose what’s going on. People can hear that it is bad but that can be bias. But when they see what Google has actually written with the documents, this will actually be taught in universities of what totalitarian states can do with this type of capability.”

“It will be so revolting that it doesn’t matter what the solution is, a solution will just form as a reaction to this manipulation they have done,” the Google insider said.

Project Veritas will release the documents later today.

It is a known fact for those who seek to be informed that Google discriminates against conservatives.

We have written hundreds of stories that changed the media narrative in the US and this pdf is the first item the pops up?  Most likely it is because some Google jack*ss wanted to link us to Republican Rep. King who the left has smeared as a racist.

Google does its best to hide conservative content and smear conservative publishers.

It’s time the federal government holds these vile, tyranical leftists accountable.

There is discrimination of all sorts, and that includes racial discrimination. Thus, it’s somewhat foolhardy to debate the existence of racial discrimination yesteryear or today.

From a policy point of view, a far more useful question to ask is: How much of the plight of many blacks can be explained by current racial discrimination?

Let’s examine some of today’s most devastating problems of
many black people with an eye toward addressing discrimination of the past and
present.

At the root of most of the problems black people face is the breakdown of the family structure.

Slightly over 70% of black children are raised in female-headed households. According to statistics about fatherless homes, 90% of homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes; 71% of pregnant teenagers lack a father figure; 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes; 71% of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes; and 70% of juveniles in state-operated institutions have no father.

Furthermore, fatherless boys and girls are twice as likely
to drop out of high school and twice as likely to end up in jail.

One might say, “Williams, one cannot ignore the legacy
of slavery and the gross racism and denial of civil rights in yesteryear!”

Let’s look at whether black fatherless homes are a result of
a “legacy of slavery” and racial discrimination.

In the late 1800s, depending on the city, 70% to 80% of black households were two-parent. Thomas Sowell has argued, “The black family, which had survived centuries of slavery and discrimination, began rapidly disintegrating in the liberal welfare state that subsidized unwed pregnancy and changed welfare from an emergency rescue to a way of life.”

As late as 1950, only 18% of black households were single-parent.
From 1890 to 1940, a slightly higher percentage of black adults had married
than white adults. In 1938, black illegitimacy was about 11% instead of today’s
75%. In 1925, 85% of black households in New York City were two-parent. Today,
the black family is a mere shadow of its past.

Let’s ask a couple of questions about crime and education
and racial discrimination.

It turns out that each year more than 7,000 blacks are
victims of homicide. That’s slightly over 50% of U.S. homicide victims.
Ninety-four percent of the time, the perpetrator is another black person. Along
with being most of the nation’s homicide victims, blacks are most of the
victims of violent personal crimes such as assault and robbery.

At many predominantly black schools, chaos is the order of
the day. There is a high rate of assaults on students and teachers. Youngsters
who are hostile to the educational process are permitted to make education
impossible for those who are prepared to learn. As a result, overall black
educational achievement is a disaster.

Here are my questions to those who blame racial discrimination for the problems of black people: Is it necessary for us to await some kind of moral rejuvenation among white people before measures can be taken to end or at least reduce the kind of behavior that spells socioeconomic disaster in so many black communities? Is it a requirement that we await moral rejuvenation among white people before we stop permitting some black youngsters from making education impossible for other black youngsters?

Blacks were not the only people discriminated against in
America. While Jews and Asians were not enslaved, they encountered gross
discrimination. Nonetheless, neither Jews nor Asians felt that they had to
await the end of discrimination before they took measures to gain upward
mobility.

Intellectuals and political hustlers who blame the plight of so many blacks on poverty, racial discrimination, and the “legacy of slavery” are complicit in the socioeconomic and moral decay.

Black people must ignore the liberal agenda that suggests that we must await government money before measures can be taken to improve the tragic living conditions in so many of our urban communities.

Black and white intellectuals and politicians suggesting that black people await government solutions wouldn’t begin to live in the same high-crime, dangerous communities, and send their children to the dangerous schools that so many black children attend.

Federal officials will consider an immigrant’s use of welfare benefits such as food stamps and Medicaid as a negative factor in deciding on the eligibility of the immigrant’s permanent legal residency or on a temporary visa. 

“It will also help promote immigrant success in the United States as they seek opportunity here,” Ken Cuccinelli, acting director of  U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, told reporters Monday at the White House. “Throughout our history, self-reliance has been a core principle in America.”

The Department of Homeland Security placed the regulation in the Federal Register on Monday, and it goes into effect Oct. 14. 

Authority for the regulation comes from a 1996 bill that passed with bipartisan support but previously was applied only to legal immigrants who get cash benefits such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Supplemental Security Income. 

“Since 1996, the law has required foreign nationals to rely on their own capabilities and the resources of their families, sponsors, and private organizations in their communities to succeed,” Cuccinelli said. 

“However,” he said, “Congress has never defined the term ‘public charge’ in the law, and that term hadn’t been defined by regulation. That is what changes today with this rule.” 

The rule will apply only to those applying for green cards or visa status after the regulation takes effect. 

The concept has been in U.S. law going back generations. 

“The public charge requirement is a long-standing principle of U.S. immigration law, first implemented at the federal level in 1882,” David Inserra, policy analyst for homeland security at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal.

“However, the [meaning] of public charge has been poorly defined. The administration’s new rule simply defines … the public charge requirement to reflect today’s system of government benefits,” Inserra said.

The rule says an immigrant seeking to be a permanent resident with access to U.S. citizenship must not be reliant on U.S. welfare programs.

“This rule protects U.S. taxpayers by ensuring that new immigrants to the U.S. will not add even more spending on top of welfare and entitlement programs that are already unsustainably driving American debt higher and higher,” Inserra said. 

“It also ensures that the U.S. is granting permanent residency to those who are self-sufficient, rewarding such immigrants with the privilege of staying and working in the U.S. and eventually gaining access to American citizenship.”

Cuccinelli, former attorney general of Virginia, did not have an estimated dollar figure on how much it costs taxpayers to pay for legal immigrants’ welfare benefits, but said:

The benefit to taxpayers is a long-term benefit of seeking to ensure that our immigration system is bringing people to join us as American citizens—as legal permanent residents first, who can stand on their own two feet, who will not be reliant on the welfare system—especially in the age of the modern welfare state, which is so expansive and expensive, frankly. So, that self-sufficiency that has been a central part of the American value set for so long is critical for us and for taxpayers going forward. That’s part of the motivation for a rule like this.

The rule applies to public benefit programs at the federal, state, local, and tribal level, Cuccinelli said. 

However, it will not affect programs pertaining to children, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children, or WIC;  the Children’s Health Insurance Program, or CHIP; benefits for pregnant women; foster care or adoption subsidies; or any public benefits for those who serve in the military. 

The rule also will not affect refugees or immigrants admitted to the United States for asylum.
