Trump Admin Takes Drastic Step On Refugee Admissions

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the administration was restricting the intake of refugees into the United States to the lowest-level on record under the current refugee system.

In a memo to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Trump announced that he was setting the refugee cap at 18,000 refugees for Fiscal Year 2020 — 12,000 lower than Trump’s cap for Fiscal Year 2019, and “the lowest number since the modern refugee system was created nearly 40 years ago,” The Washington Times reported.

The Trump administration reportedly considered going even lower when they first entertained the idea over the summer, cutting the number all the way down to nearly zero.

“During a key meeting of security officials on refugee admissions last week, a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services representative who is closely aligned with White House immigration adviser Stephen Miller suggested setting a cap at zero,” Politico reported. “Homeland Security Department officials at the meeting later floated making the level anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000, according to one of the people.”

The officials who were in favor of accepting zero refugees reportedly “argued in the meeting that the refugee cap should be low because of ongoing security concerns and the ability of the U.S. to offer humanitarian protections through the asylum process.”

Trump’s memo to Pompeo on Friday reflected that thinking stating, “The admission of up to 18,000 refugees to the United States during Fiscal Year 2020 is justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest.”

Those who will be allowed to be under consideration for entering the United States as a refugee in 2020 under the 18,000 cap are limited to:

1. Refugees who:
• have been persecuted or have a well-founded fear of persecution on account of religion;
or
• who are within a category of aliens established under subsections (b) and (c) of section 599D of Title V, Public Law 101-167, as amended (the Lautenberg and Specter Amendments) 5,000

2. Refugees who are within a category of aliens listed in section 1243(a) of the Refugee Crisis in Iraq Act of 2007, Title XII, Div. A, Public Law 110 181, as amended 4,000

3. Refugees who are nationals or habitual residents of El Salvador, Guatemala, or Honduras 1,500

4. Other refugees, including, in particular:
• those referred to the United States Refugee Admissions Program by a United States Embassy in any location;
• those who gain access to the United States Refugee Admissions Program for family reunification through the “Priority 3” process or through a Form I-730 following to join petition;
• those currently located in Australia, Nauru, or Papua New Guinea who gain access to the United States Refugee Admissions Program pursuant to an arrangement between the United States and Australia; and
• those in the United States Refugee Admissions Program who were in “Ready for Departure” status as of September 30, 2019. 7,500

The Washington Times noted that the 18,000 cap is significantly lower than the “110,000 refugee target the Obama administration tried to set for 2017.”

The crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border quieted down somewhat over the summer thanks to a mix of extreme heat that discouraged would be migrants from trying to make the trek through Central America and Mexican officials guarding the U.S. southern border thus further discouraging migrants from trying to enter the U.S.

“Even though crossings have been down over the past few months and news of custody deaths and teeming facilities full of children and families has faded from front pages and talking points of politicians, the number of migrants coming over border is still high,” the Associated Press reported late last week. “And resources are still stretched.”

“It is kind of a new norm. We’re at risk at any time,” Brian Hastings, chief of law enforcement operations at Border Patrol told the AP in respect to conditions caused by left-wing judicial activists who remove deterrent efforts that help U.S. officials gain control of the border. “We will go back, mark the words, we will go back to the crisis level that we had before.”

Ronan Farrow: Bill Clinton ‘Credibly Accused’ Of Rape, Investigation Long ‘Overdue’

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ronan Farrow, who recently released the blockbuster book “Catch and Kill,” said during an interview on Friday that an investigation  into “credible” rape accusations that have been made against former Democrat President Bill Clinton is long “overdue.”

Appearing on HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher,” Maher asked Farrow, “Could Bill Clinton, if he had done what he did in 1998, survive today — or would his own party have thrown him under the bus?”

“I think that it is very important to interject that Bill Clinton is a different conversation,” Farrow responded to Maher. “He has been credibly accused of rape. That has nothing to do with gray areas. I think that the Juanita Broaddrick claim has been overdue for revisiting.”

Late last year, as wildly salacious and completely unsubstantiated claims were leveled against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Broaddrick called for an FBI investigation into the multiple allegations of sexual assault made against Clinton.

“Again, I request the FBI investigate my credible rape allegations against Bill Clinton, in the hope that his ‘perks’, as a Former Pres, can be stripped,” Broaddrick tweeted. “It totals millions each year from mine and your tax dollar to support a rapist.”

“I further demand an FBI investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Bill Clinton by @kathleenwilley and Leslie Millwee @Astroluvr And many others,” Broaddrick continued. “WE deserve to be heard too.”

In an interview with Fox News, Broaddrick slammed Democrats for not believing her and not supporting her over the trauma she experienced in the attack.

“It’s not politically advantageous for them to circle around me and support me,” Broaddrick told Fox News. “These are the same people that refused to read my deposition with Ken Starr back in 1999. Not one Democrat would read it. Schumer, Feinstein, Durbin—they completely turned their backs on me.”

Recounting the horrifying incident, Broaddrick laid out the details to Fox News of what she claims happened when Clinton allegedly attacked her.

“It scared me to death. After the rape, after he left my room, I thought someone was going to come in to get rid of my body. That’s how I felt,” Broaddrick said. “My lip was swollen twice the size, I couldn’t even cover it up with makeup for three or four days.”

“After it was done, he coldly looked at me and said ‘you’d better put some ice on that.’ I’ll never forget it,” Broaddrick said. “I have so many witnesses. The lady that was traveling with me found me 30 minutes after the rape, and then I have five other people I told.”

Farrow’s comments about the former president on HBO  are not the only comments that he has made about the Clintons in recent months or in his new book.

Farrow revealed that two-time failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had tried to pressure him into not publishing the bombshell sexual allegations made against Harvey Weinstein.

“Weinstein also attempted to leverage his long-term relationship with Hillary Clinton to pressure Farrow, he writes,” The Hollywood Reporter reported last month. “In summer 2017, while Farrow was trying to lock down an interview with Clinton for his foreign policy book — while also still working on the Weinstein story — he received a call from Clinton’s publicist, Nick Merrill, who told him that the ‘big story’ Farrow was working on was a ‘concern for us.’”

“She attempted to withdraw from an interview that she had committed to for a foreign policy book that I was working on, for which I interviewed every other living secretary of state,” Farrow told Fox News in an interview. “And, before doing so, her staff raised concerns about the fact that I was working on this story about one of her most significant donors — a big bundler of Hollywood money.”

Trump is finally going on the offensive.

As George Washington wrote in 1799: “…make them believe, that offensive operations, oftentimes, is the surest, if not the only means of defense”.

Military generals and great leaders have always known this truism — and acted on it.

Trump is a professional attacker. No politician alive is better.

In the face of a faux impeachment, based on faulty logic of a non-existent quid pro quo and rooted in a Deep State third attempt to overthrow his government, Trump has to hit hard.

Here are five things strategically he can do immediately to press his case, Real-time offense. Run up the numbers scoring.

1.Do the fireside chat and read the actual transcript and tell the whole American public to look at the facts not some contrived SHIFTY misreading of them.

2. Build a full War Room in the coms department of the White House with a Secretary of Offense. Then challenge every falsehood the Dems put out. Go toe to toe, nonstop.

3. Start a full-blown surrogate program to get your best defenders—lawyers, AGs, pundits, economists, on every TV and radio show in the land, especially mainstream ones. Counter punch.

4. With the RNC do more of these brilliant and sharply worded TV spots. Place them in the 31 markets where Democrats won Trump seats in the 2018 election. Even get the brave dog, Conan, into the White House for a medal ceremony. Then announce he is retiring to become the White House pet.

5. Play the trump card. That is defined as, “a valuable resource that may be used, especially as a surprise, in order to gain an advantage.”

Invite all the Republican Senators to the Roosevelt Room and tell them to get on side. The endorsements and cash will flow to their respective campaigns. The Price: A statement reading that ALL of them will vote to dismiss this groundless political stunt the day it arrives in the Senate. Full Stop.

To play like this you have to love Coach Vince Lombardi of the Green Bay Packers, who won it all many times and came to define winning itself.

He said in his rules for life, “People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society. The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.”

We have the will to win.

‘Remember November:’ Nancy Pelosi Warns Dem Presidential Candidates To Back Off Progressive Platforms

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) warned the field of 2020 Democratic presidential nominees that they should resist the urge to move leftward, suggesting that the party cannot win in key states like Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio with a severely progressive platform.

Speaking at a Bloomberg News roundtable on Friday, Pelosi mocked the liberal ideas, like “Medicare for All,” that candidates like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) are using to fire up Democrats on social media, noting that what wins in her home district in San Francisco, California, isn’t what wins in states where Democrats have struggled to remain compeitive, and where voter bases are more moderate.

Instead, Pelosi said, Democrats should focus on what wins in the Rust Belt, because voters in decidedly “blue” states will respond to those policies, too.

“What works in San Francisco does not necessarily work in Michigan,” Pelosi said, according to Yahoo News. “What works in Michigan works in San Francisco — talking about workers’ rights and sharing prosperity.”

“Remember November,” Pelosi added. “You must win the Electoral College.”

She’s not wrong. Democrats learned in 2016 that the Rust Belt was more volatile than expected; blue collar, working class Democrats responded well to now-President Donald Trump’s message of economic populism and immigration control and switched parties to cast a ballot for the New York City real estate developer over 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

States like Michigan, Wisconsin, and even Florida — where panhandle Democrats also swapped parties — ultimately cost Clinton the presidency, and Pelosi, clearly playing the long game, knows the same thing could happen if nominee Warren or Sanders pushes a platform with massive federal expansions like a “Green New Deal” or “Medicare for All.”

At Friday’s event, Pelosi also took aim at Warren’s Medicare for All proposal specifically, calling it, essentially, a pipe dream with a sky-high price tag, according to The Hill.

“I’m not a big fan of Medicare for All,” Pelosi said, referencing Warren’s signature agenda item. “I mean I welcome the debate, I think that we should have health care for all.”

“There is a comfort level that some people have with their current private insurance that they have, and if that is to be phased out, let’s talk about it, but let’s not just have one bill that would do that,” she continued, also noting that Medicare for All could be “expensive.”

“We have invited advocates for it to testify in Congress, in the Ways and Means Committee, in the Budget Committee, in the Rules Committee, being respectful of the point of view,” she explained, but, ultimately, Democrats have repeatedly declined to press the plan.

Instead, Pelosi suggested, candidates should focus on a message that incorporates “healthcare for all.”

That’s not likely. Warren is using Medicare for All to distinguish herself from other candidates in the field, and to appeal to Sen. Bernie Sanders’ base, probably on the theory that even die-hard Sanders supporters don’t believe he’s likely to be the nominee. She’s pressing the issue, though, even as critics point out that there’s no way she can pay for a Medicare for All-type system without increasing taxes on the middle class or, at least, those who fall below the threshold for being considered part of the “1%.”

Sanders is, of course, honest about the cost of his plan, suggesting that those who would see their taxes rates rise (including those in the middle class) would also see their health care costs decline, making the tax hike worthwhile.

Pelosi has been working hard to curb the more progressive members of her party for nearly two years, since a “squad” of far-left politicians, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), entered Congress. She’s tangled more than once with Ocasio-Cortez and other newly elected progressives, even over the issue of impeachment.

Get Ready America, The Left Is Going To Save The Nation ‘With Selfies And Memes’

You have to feel a little sorry for the Left. In 2008 they had the hippest candidate, and for eight years they thought they were the cool kids because they understood pop culture. But the Left does not, and seemingly never has, understood memes the way the Right does.

But that’s all about to change thanks to an MIT engineer who supports Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) for president.

Misha Leybovich has a plan to save the nation “with selfies and memes.” He already has a write-up in The New York Times and everything, even though he isn’t even officially associated with Warren’s campaign. In fact, he has tried to talk to her campaign about memes and a job – neither seem to have worked.

Right off the bat one can see an issue. Warren claims she has taken hundreds of “selfies” with her fans, but she’s actually just taking pictures with them because she doesn’t understand what a “selfie” is. Perhaps Leybovich will use her mistake in a humorous way that makes her campaign more endearing (like President Donald Trump does with his most famous Twitter typo, “covfefe.”

“The Right understands the importance of Memes. They approach it like war, and have succeeded in engaging their supporters’ participation,” Leybovich wrote in a 10 page Google document laden with emojis.

There’s the second mistake. The Right doesn’t approach memes “like war.” Memes are fun, and while the Right may joke about “winning the meme war,” that isn’t an actual mentality.

Leybovich told the Times that one thing Trump did well “was crowdsourcing the creativity.”

“If you look at the popular memes, it’s not the stuff his campaign makes. They just amplify it, even if it’s toxic,” he said.

Here’s the third mistake. If you think any of the memes Trump has shared are “toxic,” you don’t understand jokes. A gif of Trump wrestling the CNN logo is not “toxic” unless you are so opposed to the president that a simple joke becomes a violent threat. And if you don’t get that, you’ll never get memes.

Part of the meme campaign involves enlisting creators to design “templates” that Warren’s supporters can use to make their own memes. Yep, that’ll go over well.

The Twitter account for “Warren’s Meme Team” has so far tweeted 76 times, nearly all of which are tweets trying to explain what memes are and what Leybovich would like to do with his campaign. The tweets are taken from the Google document and include even more emojis, because nothing helps boomers understand fun like detailed analytical instructions bracketed by emojis. Here’s just one tweet, comparing various meme styles to existing campaign ads (the quote does not contain the seven emojis in the original tweet, which is shown below).

Note that all these Creative projects are just modern versions of classic political formats:

AR selfies are lawn signs.

Audio is campaign jingles.

GIFs and Memes are bumper stickers.

Graphics are candidate posters.

Videos are political ads.

Good luck creating an authentic and organic meme team. Given the fact that it has not happened for the Left so far, surely a lengthy document filled with emojis and technical jargon will be the answer to the party’s meme failings.

Former Czech Ambassador to Russia and then Ukraine Jaroslav Bašta spoke to iDNES.cz news last week. The discussion centered around the 2016 US presidential election and the current political situation in the United States.

Bašta, who is familiar with the politics in Ukraine, accused the FBI, CIA and US Democrats, along with the former Ukrainian government, of colluding in the interest of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Bašta added, “And it is not just some conjecture, everything is well documented by the Ukrainian authorities and now also based on the first court decision.”

Bašta also told iDNES.cz that what Joe Biden and his son did in Ukraine is much worse than anything Donald Trump did, saying, “It can be said that Stalin behaved as arrogantly as Biden to Ukraine.”

Ambassador Bašta also claims the FBI, CIA and Democrat party are acting behind the scenes to remove the duly elected president, “It’s a thing typical of dictatorships.”

That would mean, however, that the Democrats, with the help of Ukraine, had actually done something to blame him and Russia.
With the difference that they did something worse than what they blamed Trump. They knew very well how much lump of butter they had on their heads, and so they probably resisted a preventive counter-strike. And I also understand why they are so terribly nervous now that they have rushed to impeachment as another preventive counter-strike. The first thing was that even if Trump had done everything they blame him now – as I didn’t think he did – then Biden had done something much worse. Secondly, they are aware of the fact that if all these things were investigated in Ukraine and brought to justice, it would be devastating for them and all their icons. Following the judgments of the Ukrainian courts, a major investigation in the FBI, the CIA and the state apparatus would necessarily have to be launched.

And that triggered the impeachment?
In this context, it is quite interesting that the basic information about Trump’s conversation with Zelenský, which launched a campaign of democrats and then impeachment, was brought to the world by a CIA employee … pre-election political struggle overwhelmed by confidential talks of statesmen, which are conducted in a certain way, style and language precisely because they are confidential.

You spent many years in the diplomatic service. It seems to me that the very fact that information about the conversation of his top boss, the head of state with another president, is brought directly by a secret service employee, is not very common.
It’s a thing typical of dictatorships.

And what does it mean when it happens in a democratic country?
It may mean that there is a struggle inside these services. But in any case, this suggests, in my opinion, that some members of the secret services are engaged in a political struggle for the American Democrats and against their President.

Missouri: Planned Parenthood’s Claim of Period-Tracking Attempt to Distract from Failure to Report Botched Abortions

Planned Parenthood and its media allies have spread false claims that state health officials deviously tracked the menstrual cycles of women seeking abortions to distract from the fact the abortion business failed to comply with state regulations when it came to reporting botched abortions, says the Missouri health department.

Missouri’s Administrative Hearing Commission will determine whether the state’s sole abortion clinic in St. Louis will remain open. The hearing concluded this week with Planned Parenthood and its media allies claiming state health officials were engaged in tracking with “spreadsheets” the menstrual cycles of Planned Parenthood’s patients.

“Missouri Didn’t Track Planned Parenthood Patients’ to Protect Women; It Was to Control Them,” was the headline of an op-ed at the Washington Post.

At the Mary Sue, the headline, “Missouri’s State Health Director Has Been Tracking Women’s Menstrual Cycles,” was accompanied by a photo of two women in “handmaid” costumes.

“Missouri Official Admits to Tracking Women’s Periods,” read the headline at the Cut.

A press release at the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS) said:

Irresponsible reporting has led to false claims that Dr. Randall Williams tracks the menstrual cycles of women seeking abortions at Planned Parenthood. The story was based on an erroneous email subject line that both staff and sworn testimony has acknowledged is not accurate.

DHSS continued:

Nothing in the Administrative Hearing Commission testimony that Dr. Williams [DHSS director] gave on Oct. 29, or in the Oct. 17 deposition, could in any way be cited to support this false claim that he ordered “spreadsheets” or any document to be created to do such. In fact, during Dr. Williams’ Oct.17 deposition, Planned Parenthood’s attorney Chuck Hatfield asked, “Do you recall making a request related to duplicate records which appear to be duplicate ITOPs [Induced Termination of Pregnancy] with last normal menses date?” Dr. Williams answered, “No, sir.” This “issue” was given very little attention at the hearing and has been falsely reported with the purpose of sensationalizing the hearing, drawing in readers and distracting from the truth.

Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said:

The Kansas City Star, which once received an award from Planned Parenthood for its reporting that favored abortion, and other national news agencies have jumped the shark with their blatant bias and propagand. They are trying smear Dr. Williams with the inference that he is some kind of pervert when all he is actually doing is trying to ensure women are safe and the laws of the State of Missouri are properly enforced.

DHSS explained the law requires abortionists to complete “an individual abortion report for each abortion performed or induced upon a woman,” and that one of the details required in the report is the last normal menses.

DHSS keeps the documentation, and the department reviews the reports when a complication resulting from an abortion is reported. DHSS stated:

In order to ensure that our laws and health care standards are being met, reports from abortion facilities, by law, must be reviewed. In this case, Planned Parenthood was not compliant with the complication report requirement for failed abortions. Regulators realized this, and as a result they used the tools they had to protect the health of those who seek abortions at Planned Parenthood.

Michael J. New, assistant professor of social research and political science at the Catholic University of America, wrote at National Review that “[p]erhaps unsurprisingly,” the claim by Planned Parenthood and its media allies is “exceptionally misleading.”

He explained that Missouri health officials noted the state had not been receiving complication reports for botched abortions, as the law required.

New continued:

To isolate such cases, a department investigator analyzed abortion reports filed by Planned Parenthood and identified 67 instances in which the same woman had multiple abortions during the same year. These data were then narrowed to identify a specific case in which a failed abortion was not reported by Planned Parenthood — a violation of state law.

At this point in time, Williams was notified. However, as New emphasized, the DHSS director “never possessed a spreadsheet of patient information, and no patient data were ever released.”

Yet, in a desperate attempt to keep an abortion clinic open – even one with reported inferior documentation – left-wing media outlets are misleading readers rather than reporting on a situation that could be detrimental to women’s health.

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, said Planned Parenthood has a history of keeping “medical standards low and profits high by fighting commonsense regulations designed to protect women’s lives and health.”

“Rather than putting money into protecting women, they invest in lawyers, going to court again and again to block health and safety standards,” she added. “Missouri is an excellent example of Planned Parenthood’s anti-woman mindset.”

Among the health code violations and other issues of concern at the St. Louis Planned Parenthood that have been compiled is that the facility has had to hospitalize 80 women over the past ten years following botched abortions. Of these cases, 74 were confirmed medical emergencies.

In addition, SFLA reported the Planned Parenthood facility has “failed basic health inspections, with officials noting unsafe conditions,” and has refused to comply with Missouri’s state regulations.

Ironically, Planned Parenthood and its advocates are concerned about women’s privacy being violated by a record of the date of last menstruation for the purpose of maintaining health and safety laws, while former Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards appeared to be condoning a public Twitter campaign known as #PeriodsforPence, in which women were urged to tweet Vice President Mike Pence, the former governor of Indiana, detailed descriptions of their menstrual periods as a way of expressing their outrage at his pro-life policies.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson (R) said Friday he would not be investigating the state’s health department over Planned Parenthood’s claims of period-tracking. Missouri House Minority Leader Crystal Quade (D) called for an investigation, claiming the possibility of a violation of patient privacy, reported Fox4kc.com.

“The truth of the matter is there is no special spreadsheet of what the accusations are,” Parson said. “The information that’s been coming into the Department of Health has been going on since 1981 under state law and lawmakers that don’t know that should probably take a good look at the laws of the state of Missouri.”

A ruling on whether the Planned Parenthood facility’s license is renewed is expected in February.
