National gun control groups run by Michael Bloomberg and Gabby Giffords are reportedly “spending millions” to secure victories for pro-gun control candidates in Virginia.
The Associated Press reports these out-of-state groups are dumping millions into races as Virginia is a place “where partisan control [is actually] up for grabs.”
AP notes that Virginia was once a solid pro-Second Amendment state, but the influx of Democrat voters coming down from Washington, DC, and other areas has changed the political landscape. This has moved Virginia from being a state where Republicans and Democrats stand together for guns to being one where Democrats are “increasingly willing to back stricter gun laws.”
In fact, Gov. Ralph Northam’s (D) package of gun control proposals is waiting for a Democrat majority to push it through.
Northam put his gun control package forward following the May 31, 2019, Virginia Beach shooting, and it is comprised of numerous controls that would not have prevented that shooting from taking place.
He is pushing universal background checks and a one-handgun-a-month purchase limit, among other things. Neither of these would have prevented or even hindered the shooting, as the attacker acquired his firearms via a background check and did so over a time-frame of far greater than one month.

The coach of a New York high school football team was suspended after running up the score on an undefeated opponent last week.
Plainedge High School coach Rob Shaver was suspended for a single game after his undefeated team was accused of running up the score against the also undefeated South Side High School football team, the New York Post reported.
The final score was 61-13, a result that district officials felt violated its “lopsided scores policy.” School officials charged that Shaver left his best players in the game despite having a 35-point advantage.
Shaver refuted the decision of the school board saying that he did not violate the rule which prohibits winning by more than 42 points. He also said that he did not run up the score on purpose.
“They thought it was a mismanaged game, which my opinion is, that isn’t the rule,” Shaver said. “It should be: You ran up the score on purpose. That’s what the intent of the rule is for.”
“What made me the most upset,” Shaver added, “to be honest is, listen, if the South Side coach complained and said, ‘This guy definitely ran up the score on us,’ well, then they should investigate. Because that’s the intent of the rule. The spirit of the rule is to prevent better teams from running up on lesser programs and sportsmanship and dignity and all that stuff. I get it. That didn’t happen.”
Indeed, South Side coach Phil Onesto said he did not complain, did not have a problem with the game’s outcome, and even told coach Shaver so.
Coach Shaver will now miss his team’s final regular-season game.

Vindman wore his full dress uniform to testify on his dislike of President Trump’s Ukrainian policy. Vindman would not tell Republican lawmakers during his secret basement chamber testimony who he informed about President Trump’s classified call. Vindman may be facing a court of law himself for his actions of spying on the US President.

U.S. President Donald Trump said Saturday that more information would be released shortly about Alexander Vindman, the U.S. official who told Congress he was concerned that Trump’s call with Ukraine’s leader threatened national security.
Vindman, a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and National Security Council official, has been targeted by Trump since his Oct. 29 congressional testimony was released. Trump tweeted that day that Vindman was a “Never Trumper witness.”
Asked whether he regrets calling the Vindman a “Never Trumper,” Trump told reporters on Saturday, “Well, you’ll be seeing very soon what comes out and then you can ask the question in a different way.”
A Kinney County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested an armed human smuggler as he attempted to sneak four illegal aliens into the U.S. interior. Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents also found another handgun near the scene of a second foiled human smuggling attempt.
Del Rio Sector Border Patrol officials report an increase in human smugglers attempting to move their “cargo” into the U.S. interior after the migrants illegally cross the border from Mexico. Officials said the number of incidents where the smugglers are armed is also on the rise.
“Smugglers arming themselves with firearms is becoming a common trend,” Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Raul L. Ortiz said in a written statement. “This poses a threat to not only our agents but the community and those being smuggled as well.”
A Kenney County Sheriff’s Office deputy called Border Patrol agents assigned to the Brackettville Station for assistance on October 27 after stopping a vehicle with four suspected illegal aliens on board, according to information provided by Del Rio Sector Border Patrol officials. The agents conducted an immigration interview and determined four of the passengers had illegally entered the U.S.
During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol in the driver’s side door pocket. The deputy arrested the driver and a passenger and seized the handgun and vehicle. The agents transported the four illegal aliens to the Brackettville Station for processing. Officials did not disclose the nationality of the four migrants.
One day earlier, Brackettville Station Border Patrol agents found a second handgun while searching the area of a disrupted human smuggling attempt. During a search of the area, the agents found a black backpack on the ground. A search of the backpack revealed a Glock 26 9mm pistol. Officials report the handgun was fully loaded. The agents transported the backpack and handgun to the station for processing. Officials did not disclose any additional information about the failed smuggling attempt.
“The number of smuggling cases is on the rise in Del Rio Sector,” officials stated. “Since the beginning of FY19, there have been at least 12 smuggling cases involving weapons, compared to five for FY18.” FY19 ended on September 30.

The leftist Italian coalition government will likely give far more cash per day to migrants than to Italians with disabilities, according Il Giornale‘s analysis of the new budget.
The figures were published this week and have revealed that the government will establish a Disability and Self-Reliance Fund that will see a €50 million investment next year, a €200 million investment in 2021, and €300 million per year from 2022, Il Giornalereports.
Of the three million disabled people in Italy, around two million rely on state benefits, which, according to the newspaper, works out to approximately 54 cents per day for each disabled person.
Meanwhile, the government will give migrants and asylum seekers around €20 per day. The benefit is down from the previous amount of €35 per day and was lowered earlier in the year by former Interior Minister Matteo Salvini while his League party was in coalition with the Five Star Movement.

“It is not an economic question, but an ethical one,” Fabio Scaltritti of the Community San Benedetto al Porto in Alessandria said. “Even if the figure had remained at 35 euros a day we would not have enough,” he added.
The budget has been a significant source of disagreement between the leftist coalition of the Five Star Movement and the Democratic Party (PD) in recent weeks before the draft was completed last month.
The European Union raised concerns over the new budget due to the country’s structural balance but later commented that it would not be seeking to change the draft.
The EU’s euro economy commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis said that while the European Commission was not seeking to amend the draft, it would still assess the budget for several weeks.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will continue to strike its enemies wherever they may be, including through covert missions, after violence flared up Saturday in the Gaza Strip.
Benjamin Netanyahu spoke ahead of his weekly Cabinet meeting Sunday, a day after Israel struck a series sites linked to Gaza’s Hamas rulers in response to a late-night barrage of rocket fire.
Israel holds Hamas terrorists responsible for all attacks coming out of the territory and blamed the weekend’s upheavals on it old enemy.
Netanyahu said Israel is in a “very sensitive” security environment to its north, south and east.
He said: “We will continue to act in all fronts for the security of Israel, both through open means and also through secret means, at sea, in the air and on the ground.”
As Breitbart Jerusalem reported, Israel’s military is currently on full alert for threats coming from near and far and has a multi-tiered network of integrated air defense systems “on alert” for any attack by Iran’s missiles, Israeli Air Force chief Amikam Norkin confirmed last week.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier this month Iran intends to attack Israel, and any attack which emanates from Yemen complicates the IDF’s response as its intermediate and long-range air defenses are better positioned to shoot down incoming attacks from Israel’s north, rather than from the south.
“Even as we speak, Arrow, Patriot, David’s Sling and Iron Dome batteries are on alert,” Norkin said Wednesday night at a graduation ceremony for air defense officers.

On Halloween night, mobs set fires to two schools in the French city of Béziers, causing significant damage. The perpetrators also attacked police and responding firefighters.
The night’s incidents started at around 9:30 pm on Thursday when several fires were reported in a derelict building near Vallerey Square and other fires at an abandoned garage in the Devèze district of Béziers, broadcaster BFMTV reports.
Once police arrived on the scene, a group of people attacked them with firecrackers and rocks. But with the protection of the police, firefighters were able to get the first fires under control.
An hour later, at around 10:30 pm, a fire was reported at the Maurice Et Katia Krafft middle school. When police and firefighters arrived on the scene, they were again attacked by a group of up to 30 people armed with rocks, fireworks, and other projectiles. Police say the attackers had covered their faces to avoid identification.
After police reinforcements arrived, firefighters were able to tackle the blaze. A source told BMFTV that the main damage included “broken windows” and that “a fire was started in the gym and two adjoining rooms”.
However, more considerable damage was caused to the nearby Tamaris primary school, some three minutes’ walk away. “The Tamaris school was severely damaged by fire. Several rooms and classrooms are completely destroyed,” says the source. “The fumes spread in almost the entire establishment, resulting in all the classrooms becoming blackened from smoke.”
Between around 10:30 pm and 11:00 pm, police said that a gang of around 20 people wearing “Halloween-type masks” disturbed traffic at the Pierre Verdier roundabout in another part of the city. The attackers deposited “a moped as well as garbage containers” on the road. They then “set [the garbage bins] on fire while throwing stones at vehicles as they passed by”, according to the source.
Calm only returned to the area at 12:30 am after police reinforcements arrived. No arrests were made during the night, though earlier on Thursday evening, police detained a 15-year-old male for throwing stones at officers near one of the schools that were later set on fire. One firefighter was injured during the night’s activities.
“In total, three cars, a moped and several garbage containers were burned in the night in different districts of Béziers,” the source told the broadcaster.

Robert Ménard, the firebrand mayor of Béziers, commented on the violence saying: “A minority rots the lives of people in the neighbourhood. We must punish them harshly and not just be satisfied with words.”
He also gave more details on the damage to the primary school, saying it would likely need to be rebuilt.
French Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer also gave a statement condemning the arson attack. Interior Minister Christoph Castaner said: “Arson of a school is an offence to the Republic. Along with Jean-Michel Blanquer, I condemn these unacceptable acts. They can not go unpunished: everything will be done so that their authors respond to justice.”
The incident is not the first time police and firefighters have had to deal with guerilla-like tactics employed by individuals in troubled areas of French cities. Last year, in the city of Mulhouse, a group of around 50 youths clashed with police for several hours, attacking officers with rocks and iron bars.

Former Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence president Dan Gross spoke in defense of gun owners during the November 2, 2019, 2nd Amendment Rally.
Gross spent years as the president of the Brady Campaign, but he told pro-gun rally attendees that he is sick of seeing gun owners maligned.
He said, “I’m here because I’ve seen how all of you, decent, responsible, law-abiding gun owners, are relentlessly, and, I believe, unfairly, demonized.”
Gross added, “I’ve seen firsthand how an ideological hatred of guns and the people who own them is more important to some people than the actual goal of saving lives.”
Gross observed, “There is nothing that pisses me off than people who pretend they care about saving lives but really have other agendas.”
He added, “I can tell, when I was leading Brady, I had a lot of issues with a lot of people who thought they were on my side.”
Gross also discussed what he thinks “gun owners can do to reclaim the narrative in this country.” He spoke of gun owners as “decent” people who lament tragedy just as non-gun owners do and suggested much of the gun debate can be settled via gun owners promoting firearm responsibility as passionately as they promote the right to own a firearm.
