“I’m Seeing What Socialism’s Like. It’s Not Only Not Free. It Doesn’t Freakin Work!” – Chris Matthews Goes Off After DNC Debate (VIDEO)

The Democrats and Democrat-Socialists held a debate last night in New Hampshire following their disastrous caucus in the state of Iowa.

Following the debate Chris Matthews went off on the hardcore Socialist wing of the party.

Chris Matthews: The issue of this campaign is that word socialism. Some people like it. Younger people like it. Those of us like me, who grew up in a cold war and saw some aspects of it while visiting places like Vietnam, like I have, and seeing countries like Cuba, being there. I’m seeing what socialism’s like. I don’t like it. OK? It’s not only not free. It doesn’t freakin’ work!

Matthews will no doubt be forced to make a public apology by Monday.

BOZELL & GRAHAM: Attack Of The ‘Fact-Checking’ Clones

Under President Donald Trump, the State of the Union address has become the Super Bowl for the left-leaning “fact-checkers.” It doesn’t matter if Republicans and independents enjoyed it immensely. Like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, these journalists want to rip his speech to pieces because it somehow overflows with “untruths.”

But these supposedly “independent” guardians are failures at fact-checking the Democratic Party response, offered this year by Gretchen Whitmer, who was elected governor of Michigan in 2018. Let’s do a quick roundup of the “fact-checker” focus.

— The Associated Press, as usual, obsessed only about the POTUS under the headline “Trump’s exaggerated ‘great American comeback.’” They offered nine checks on Trump’s veracity and zero fact checks on Whitmer.

— The Washington Post — under fact-checker extraordinaire Glenn Kessler, who insists he has a running count of more than 16,200 “false or misleading claims” by President Trump — offered 31 checks of Trump and zero of Whitmer.

— PolitiFact offered 21 evaluations of Trump’s speech and nothing on Whitmer. In fact, PolitiFact has no page on Whitmer. It has never evaluated her. (It does have a page for “Snooki” of MTV’s “Jersey Shore.”)

— FactCheck.org offered 14 checks of Trump and one sentence on how Whitmer was wrong to say that wages “stagnated” under Trump.

— The New York Times stacked up 36 evaluations of Trump’s speech and then offered two on Whitmer, one of which included the wage-stagnation garbage.

Somehow these last two outlets get to look more “fair and balanced” by merely bowing to the notion that the Democratic response isn’t a perfectly shaped bouquet of truth. Add up all these evaluations and Trump had 111 fact checks to Whitmer’s three.

Trump loves to boast and exaggerate, so it’s easy to throw out little “Pinocchio” ratings when Trump claims we have the lowest black unemployment rate in American history, since it’s only been measured since 1972. But it’s literally the lowest ever measured in American history. What the fact-checkers are doing is littering achievements with asterisks, trying to distract from the undeniable fact that unemployment is at record lows for blacks, Hispanics, women, the disabled and undoubtedly other groups Democrats claim to champion.

David Harsanyi at National Review offered a terrific article just taking apart The Washington Post fact check, calling these fact-checkers “janissaries of the Obama legacy.” (Buckley hat tip for the $10 word.) Harsanyi noted that The Post “mentions Obama 13 times in a piece about Trump’s speech.” What resulted was “a litany of partisan arguments masquerading as factual correctives.”

The best part was Harsanyi’s amazement at The Post’s evaluation of this Trump statement: “Thanks to our bold regulatory-reduction campaign, the United States has become the number-one producer of oil and natural gas in the world, by far.” It’s true that America became No. 1 in former President Obama’s second term. But does Obama deserve credit?

Obama ran for president promising to inhibit energy production, coal and oil. A Republican Congress and the Supreme Court foiled his plans. Harsanyi observes: “It’s quite the trick to not only censure Trump for bragging about oil and gas production but then, in the same fact check, confer on all the credit on Obama, who did everything in his power — including banning drilling on most public lands — to inhibit exploration and production.”

Did these Obama defenders gear up to attack Obama’s State of the Union addresses? A quick peek at Obama’s speech in 2012, his reelection year, found PolitiFact could only muster three fact checks of Obama — and two of Sen. Marco Rubio’s Republican rebuttal — compared with its 21-0 smacking of Trump.

Someone should fact-check PolitiFact boss Angie Drobnic Holan every time she claims, “PolitiFact seeks to present true facts, unaffected by agenda or biases.” That deserves a “Pants on Fire.”

FIREWORKS! Steve Bannon Takes on Unhinged Leftie Bill Maher and ABSOLUTELY CRUSHES HIM! (Video)

THIS WAS EXPLOSIVE!

Former Trump Chief Strategist Steve Bannon joined Bill Maher on Realtime last night after one of President Trump’s best week’s in office.

Just this week — President Trump delivered the best State of the Union Address in memory, President Trump announced the framework for a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians, US employment numbers beat expectations, the USMCA trade deal was signed into law, Speaker Pelosi suffered a shameful public meltdown, Democrats could not run a caucus in Iowa, Deep State Democrats were frogmarched from the White House and the US Senate acquitted President Trump of both charges in the Democrat’s sham impeachment trial.

The US President and the American people are winning and this makes the left very spiteful.

On Friday night Bannon joined Bill Maher and unloaded on the Socialist-Democrat Party.
This was brutal.

Bill Maher: I’m not going to lie about it, your boy had his best week so far.

Steve Bannon: Trump is about to run the tables.

Bill Maher: Oh, I agree with you on that.

Steve Bannon: Nobody sat there after 2016 and said, ‘Why did we lose?’ Trump reached out to these working class people and connected with them…

Bill Maher: The game is rigged (electoral college).

Steve Bannon: This is what I love about you guys. You got to whine about everything… With this attitude we’re going to keep winning… Bernie’s been screwed by this Democratic Party. Look at the last election.

The interview ended with Bill Maher telling Steve, “I wish we had someone on our side as evil as you.”

Typical leftie projection – from the chief spokesman of the party that boos God.

Democrat Congressman Asks Twitter To Remove Trump Video Of Pelosi Ripping Up SOTU Speech

President Donald Trump on Thursday tweeted out a video that showed images of the people the president honored at the State of the Union alongside clips of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) ripping up Trump’s speech.

The caption for the video reads “Powerful American Stories Ripped To Shreds By Nancy Pelosi.” Trump supporters would see the point the video makes – that Pelosi ripped up a speech that included the stories of many honorable Americans because she hates Trump. Any politician would do the same for an attack ad. Trump’s speech contained a lot of positive information and Pelosi ripped it up, claiming it was full of lies. If former House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) had done that during one of President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speeches the Democrats would absolutely make a similar video.

Yet now, Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) is asking Twitter to remove Trump’s video because it is “clearly edited in a way that’s intended to mislead viewers,” adding, “You should take it down.”

The video inserts the same clip of Pelosi ripping up the speech in the middle of Trump celebrating Americans like Brig. Gen. Charles McGee. It’s “misleading” because it makes it look like Pelosi had a dozen copies of the speech to just keep ripping every time Trump honored an American. It’s also a pretty standard attack ad.

Not to be outdone, podcast host and former CNN reporter Jacki Schechner agreed with Cicilline, saying the video “is dangerous propaganda, and Twitter should remove it.”

How it’s “dangerous” is anyone’s guess.

As The Daily Wire previously reported, Pelosi defended tearing up the speech because it was, as she called it, “a manifesto of mistruths.”

“It is very hard for us to get you to talk about the issues we are working on: H.R. 3, infrastructure and the rest. He misrepresented all of that. It was necessary to get the attention of the American people to say, ‘This is not true, and this is how it affects you,’” she said, clearly not understanding how many Americans could say something similar about Obama’s State of the Union speeches.

“And I don’t need any lessons from anybody, especially the President of the United States, about dignity – dignity,” Pelosi continued. “Is it okay to start saying ‘four more years’ in the House of Representatives? It’s just unheard of. It is unheard of for the President to insult people there who don’t share his views, as well as to misrepresent – present falsehoods. Some would use the word lie – I don’t like to use the word lie – about what he is saying.”

“It’s appalling the things that he says, and then you say to me, tearing up his falsehoods, ‘Isn’t that the wrong message?’ No, it isn’t. It’s just – I have tried to be gracious with him. I’m always dignified,” Pelosi said. “I thought that was a dignified act compared to my other exuberances, as I said. But we will not allow any president to use that Capitol, that Chamber of the House of Representatives, of the People’s House, as a backdrop for him.”

“Now, all presidents have guests – constant guests – that was not a State of the Union,” Pelosi continued. “That was a state – his state of mind. We want a State of the Union. Where are we, where are we going and the rest. Not, ‘Let me just show you how many guests I can draw.”

Again, everything she criticized about Trump’s speech could have been said about Obama’s.

Mike Pence: Expect GOP To Unveil Plans On 4 Key Issues In 2020 Ahead Of Elections

Vice President Mike Pence told Fox Business on Friday that Republicans have big plans on several key issues that they are working on unveiling in 2020, ahead of the upcoming election, that will hopefully seal the deal on getting President Donald Trump re-elected.

When asked by Fox Business host Stuart Varney if tax cuts 2.0 were coming, Pence responded, “Oh, they’re absolutely coming.”

“I expect we’ll be talking about that before this election year is out,” Pence responded. “It’s one of the reasons why we’re going to focus so much energy on making sure that not only do we get President Donald Trump four more years in this White House, but we’re going to make sure that we reelect a Republican Senate and elect a Republican House of Representatives.”

“Stuart, you were there every step of the way,” Pence continued. “You saw the incredible progress we made when we had a Republican majority in the Senate and a Republican majority in the House.”

Pence highlighted four key issues that Republicans were going to focus on unveiling plans for ahead of the 2020 elections.

Pence said, “We’re going to lay out our vision on tax reform, on healthcare, on infrastructure, on prescription drugs, and we’re going to go out there and fight every day, as I said, to get this president four more years but also to make sure that we have Republican allies in the majority in the Congress to help us bring it about.”

WATCH:

TRANSCRIPT:

STUART VARNEY, VARNEY & CO. HOST: And here is the president of the united — Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence. Almost got it wrong there, Mr. Vice President, but we’re glad you’re with us.

MIKE PENCE, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Thank you, Stuart. Great to be with you.

VARNEY: What’s the move —

(CROSSTALK)

PENCE: It’s a great week for America and a great week for President Donald Trump.

VARNEY: Are you guys doing high fives in the White House? What’s the mood?

PENCE: Well, as I said, I mean, in that State of the Union address on Tuesday night, the president focused on the American people, the incredible progress that we’ve made. This is a blue collar boom, more than seven million jobs created. The jobs report that came out today, another 225,000 jobs. The wages are rising most rapidly for hardworking blue collar Americans. Add to that, we’ve rebuilt our military, standing tall in the world, standing —

VARNEY: It’s impressive.

PENCE: — standing with our allies, standing up to our enemies.

VARNEY: Yes.

PENCE: Strong conservatives through our courts, the president’s acquittal, and now — and now ending the week confirming that Americans are winning like never before, and it’s thanks to the leadership of President Donald Trump.

VARNEY: Now, I have to tell you, Mr. Vice President, that Speaker Pelosi says there’s no blue collar boom and that President Trump did nothing for the economy. Your response, please?

PENCE: Well, it really is remarkable the Democrats are actually out arguing against an economy that is expanding all across this country. You know, Stuart, I travel on a very regular basis and I have working Americans coming up to me every day talking about the fact that they got more money in their pockets, their kids are able to find jobs when they come out of school, and that’s all confirmed in the January jobs report again today.

I mean, I have to tell you, I mean, one of the numbers that is most exciting, and it’ll be exciting to your viewers, is the labor participation rate continues to rise. I mean, literally where we saw the economy under the last administration, an administration that tried to tax and regulate and bail us back to a growing economy, thanks to the president’s agenda of less taxes, less regulation, free and fair trade, unleashing American energy, now we see three — you know, three and half million Americans have come back into the workforce and even more in the report that came out today, and wages are rising across the board rapidly but most rapidly for hardworking blue collar Americans.

I mean, if Democrats want to argue against this economy, we’ll make that argument every day between now and November. And it’s just going to be one more reason why we get four more years from President Donald Trump in the White House.

VARNEY: Forgive me, sir, but I want to go back to the State of the Union message and Speaker Pelosi standing there ripping up the four pages of the president’s speech. Now, you were standing right there. You appeared very stoic. I didn’t see much change of expression on your face. What we’re you thinking when you saw the speaker rip up the speech?

PENCE: Stuart, I honestly didn’t see her do it. I was focused where the president was, and that was out on the ovations and the crowd and in the gallery. I was enjoying looking up at the inspiring Americans that he had introduced to the country.

But I must tell you, when I learned moments later that she had literally torn up the president’s State of the Union address on national television, I thought it was a new low — a new low for a Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

And I’ll also tell you, you know, the contrast between President Trump’s State of the Union address that he made all about America, all about the American people and the progress that we have all made under his leadership and having Speaker Nancy Pelosi try to make it about her, I think it tells you all you need to know about this radical leftist Democratic Party which seems to never seize any opportunity —

VARNEY: I agree, yes.

PENCE: — to try and distract from the extraordinary progress that the American people have made under the leadership of President Donald Trump.

VARNEY: The aftermath of impeachment and the aftermath of ripping up the speech is President Trump getting personal and saying that Speaker Pelosi is a horrible person and appearing to question her faith and her prayer.

Do you want to get involved in that kind of personal tit for tat or do you want to stay out of it?

PENCE: Well look, the American people know what’s going on here. My wife was in New Hampshire last night, and she heard from a lot of great folks that turned out for a Keep America Great rally, how much they appreciate all this president has endured over the last three years.

I mean, when you think about the progress we’ve made, rebuilding our military, reviving our economy, strengthening our liberties with conservatives on our courts, America respected in the world again, it’s important to remember that every day since our inauguration day Democrats have been trying to overturn the results of the last election. It was two and a half years of the Russia collusion hoax until the Justice Department found no collusion, no obstruction, case closed.

And then it seemed like it was just a matter of weeks, Stuart, before all of a sudden over a phone call with President Zelensky of Ukraine we were back on the impeachment express and the sham investigation followed by a partisan impeachment.

It was just a great moment this week when we saw the United States Senate vote to acquit the President of the United States of America. It’s over, and I don’t think any American would begrudge the president’s strong feelings about those who have spent so much energy in the last three years trying to stop him and this administration from turning this country around.

VARNEY: I want to turn to the virus, the Coronavirus.

PENCE: Right.

VARNEY: A ship doctor — cruise ship doctor in New Jersey this morning, two plane loads of American evacuees arrive — are supposed to arrive in California shortly. I just want your assessment of how we, America, has dealt so far with this virus?

PENCE: Well, President Trump took decisive and unprecedented action cancelling air flights, limiting access to this country from people coming from China now a week ago, and we continue to believe that the threat to the American public is low. That being said, we had meetings yesterday in the Oval Office with the CDC officials. The president spoke to President Xi last night.

Look, our hearts break for the people of China and the loss of life in the wake of this Coronavirus, and what the president made clear to President Xi is the United States is ready, willing, and able to work through the World Health Organization to provide assistance as they — as they get this Coronavirus under control.

But the American people can be confident President Trump is going to continue to put the health and safety of this country first, and the decisive action he’s taken to date we believe continues to keep us in a posture where the threat to the American people is low but we’re going to remain vigilant and remain aggressive to keep it that way.

VARNEY: Would you mind if I did a quick lighting round? OK, I’m going to do it.

Sorry about that, Mr. Vice President. First of all, Joe Biden?

PENCE: You know, candidly it is remarkable to see the disarray in the Democratic Party and that to see that what I think Bernie Sanders actually called it a mitigated disaster for their party —

(CROSSTALK)

VARNEY: OK.

PENCE: — in Iowa. Look, Iowa’s a great state. They’re great people, but obviously Joe Biden’s showing in the Iowa caucuses just tells you this is a party that more and more reflects the radical Democrats in the Congress of the United States, and we think that’s going to continue to propel and confuse their nominating process.

VARNEY: Mike Bloomberg.

PENCE: You know, honestly it’s hard for us to see the appeal of that candidacy. I mean, the American people know that we’ve got a president in the White House, an accomplished business leader who brought what he likes to call the American model to bear on reviving the American economy. I don’t think they’re going to be drawn to a business leader that’s interested in more taxes, more regulation, and taking us back to the failed policies of the past.

VARNEY: Tax cuts 2.0, are they coming?

PENCE: Oh, they’re absolutely coming. I expect we’ll be talking about that before this election year is out. It’s one of the reasons why we’re going to focus so much energy on making sure that not only do we get President Donald Trump four more years in this White House, but we’re going to make sure that we reelect a Republican Senate and elect a Republican House of Representatives.

Stuart, you were there every step of the way. You saw the incredible progress we made when we had a Republican majority in the Senate and a Republican majority in the House. We’re going to lay out our vision on tax reform, on healthcare, on infrastructure, on prescription drugs, and we’re going to go out there and fight every day, as I said, to get this president four more years but also to make sure that we have Republican allies in the majority in the Congress to help us bring it about.

VARNEY: I got to point out, Mr. Vice President, that Speaker Pelosi gave all the credit for the market and the economy to President Obama. Lighting response to that?

PENCE: It’s just — you know, honestly it is amazing to think that the last administration that tried to tax and spend and regulate us back to a growing economy resulting in less than two percent growth for eight years — the slowest economic recovery since the Great Recession — now can look at this booming American economy. More than seven million jobs created, wages rising, and think they had anything to do with it.

I mean, the American people know what the president said in the State of the Union was true that if he — if President Donald Trump had not been elected to the White House, if we hadn’t had allies in Congress willing to cut taxes, rollback regulation, unleash American energy, and fight for the kind of free and fair trade that you see in the USMCA, in the phase one China deal, this country would be in a very, very different place. We’d still be struggling economically as we were in the last administration, and the American people know better. They know this economy is booming. It’s a blue collar boom, and they know the credit goes to President Donald Trump.

VARNEY: Mr. Vice President Mike Pence, thank you very much for being with us, sir. Appreciate it.

PENCE: Thank you, Stuart. Good to be with you.

VARNEY: See you soon. Thank you very much.

Democrats Failed The Debate Question On Qassem Soleimani

None of the people who answered gave a competent answer or would have done it.

Via Washington Examiner:

At the New Hampshire 2020 Democratic presidential primary debate on Friday, Democrats failed when questioned on whether they would have authorized the U.S. military strike which killed Qassem Soleimani.

Soleimani, commander of the covert action arm of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in a January U.S. drone strike in Baghdad. President Trump authorized that strike in response to Soleimani’s effort to organize attacks on U.S. interests in Iraq and the broader Middle East, and in the context of the Iranian general’s historic role in killing hundreds of U.S. soldiers during the Iraq War.

But as I say, Democrats were unconvincing.

Pete Buttigieg was first to respond, and he offered platitudes. He said he would not have authorized a strike against Soleimani unless he could “evaluate the entire intelligence picture” and know what all the “different effects would be.” This might sound good, but it fails to realize a simple truth: There is no such thing as perfect intelligence. Inadequate information must be assessed in short order to come to the best possible decision. Nor does the commander in chief benefit, as Buttigieg seems to believe, from a time travel device which allows them to see what the “different effects” of an action will be before said action is even ordered.

Judge Refuses To Dismiss Charges Against Couple Accused Of Drugging And Raping 1,000; DA Had Said Predecessor ‘Manufactured’ Case

Charges were expected to be dropped against an orthopedic surgeon and his girlfriend on Friday after the Orange County district attorney said he wanted to dismiss the case and claimed his predecessor had “manufactured” the case. In a stunning twist, however, a judge declined to dismiss the charges based on the district attorney’s word and instead said he needed more time to decide whether he will grant the dismissal.

As The Daily Wire previously reported, Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend Cerissa Riley, a substitute teacher, were accused luring women to their Newport Beach, California home, drugging them, and then raping them. From The Daily Wire:

In September 2018, then-district attorney Tony Rackauckas said during a press conference that investigators had “hundreds” of videos taken from the couple’s phones showing evidence that they had drugged and raped the women and then filmed the crimes. He was asked during that press conference whether the number could approach one thousand, and Rackauckas said, “I think so.”

Rackauckas lost his re-election bid a few months later. The new DA, Todd Spitzer, decided to re-investigate the case after he saw an unsealed deposition from Rackauckas explaining that he hoped the case against Robicheaux and Riley would help him get re-elected.

Spitzer reopened the case, and said during a press conference that a “team of prosecutors with a combined 175 years of experience determined there is no provable evidence that Robicheaux and Riley committed any sexual offense.” Spitzer then accused his predecessor of manufacturing the case.

“The prior District Attorney and his chief of staff manufactured this case and repeatedly misstated the evidence to lead the public and vulnerable women to believe that these two individuals plied up to 1,000 women with drugs and alcohol in order to sexually assault them—and videotape the assaults,” Spitzer said.

“As a result of the complete case review I ordered beginning in July, we now know that there was not a single video or photograph depicting an unconscious or incapacitated woman being sexually assaulted,” he added.

A judge on Friday said he needed more information about the case and the alleged evidence behind it before dismissing the charges, ABC 7 reported. Spitzer remained hopeful that the judge would eventually dismiss the case, saying the judge “has been involved in this case from its inception and it is completely reasonable that he would want a thorough understanding of the facts.”

The judge, according to ABC 7, added that politics were evident in the case and he needed to sort through the competing claims. As the outlet reported, both sides must submit final argument briefs by March 19. The next hearing is set for April 3.

An attorney for the accused couple, Philip Cohen, told the outlet that even if the charges are dismissed the defendants have had their lives ruined.

“The biggest problem in this case continues – what do Grant and Cerissa do with the rest of their lives and what confidence can the public have that they are not rapists, they’re not monsters, that they’re not villains?” Cohen said.

Then, of course, there are the attorneys representing women claiming to be victims of the couple.

“This gives us an opportunity to also evaluate the information to understand why the DA is making the decision that they’re making and for us to object if we’d like to judge if we’d like that charge to remain,” said one of the accuser’s attorneys, Mike Fell.

Democrats Call for Twitter To Remove Pelosi Video Posted by Trump

Multiple Democratic lawmakers are calling for Twitter to take down a video President Donald Trump posted on Thursday of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripping up his State of the Union address, arguing it misleads viewers.

The video, titled, “Powerful American Stories Ripped to Shreds By Nancy Pelosi,” was pinned to the top of Trump’s Twitter feed as of Saturday.

The compilation shows the president honoring various Americans who were seated in the House of Representatives gallery intercut with footage of Pelosi ripping up the formal paper copy of Trump’s remarks, which she did at the conclusion of the State of the Union on Tuesday night.

Some of the American stories Trump shared, featured in the Twitter video, included those of Brigadier General Charles McGee, one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen, who served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War; as well as the widow and 13-year-old son of Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Hake, who was killed in 2008 by a roadside bomb near Baghdad.

The president also informed Janiyah Davis, a fourth-grader from Philadelphia, and her mom, Stephanie, that Janiyah would be receiving an opportunity scholarship to go to the school of her choice.

After each of these stories, footage of Pelosi ripping up the State of the Union speech appeared.

Trump went on to highlight the record low unemployment rates for African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, veterans and Americans with disabilities.

Do you think Trump’s video should remain on Twitter?

After Trump lists these economic achievements, Pelosi is again seen in the video ripping up his address.

Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff, Drew Hammill, said Friday the “latest fake video of Speaker Pelosi is deliberately designed to mislead and lie to the American people,” according to The Hill.

“The American people know that the President has no qualms about lying to them — but it is a shame to see Twitter and Facebook, sources of news for millions, do the same.”

“Every day that these platforms refuse to take it down is another reminder that they care more about their shareholders’ interests than the public’s interests,” Hammill said.

Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California, who represents Silicon Valley, tweeted, “.@Twitter must take this misleading video about @SpeakerPelosi down now. Social media platforms are a place where people come for news & information. They need to have certain standards. Falsity has never been part of our 1st Amendment tradition.”

RELATED: Sen. Cotton Shreds China’s Official Virus Story, Hints at ‘Super Laboratory’

“This video is clearly another deceptive effort by @realDonaldTrump to mislead and manipulate the American people,” added Rep. Veronica Escobar of Texas. “Hey [Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey], show your commitment to cut down on the misinformation corroding our nation and take down this fake video.”

Rep. David Cicilline of Rhode Island, who oversees House Democrats’ messaging, tweeted, “Hey@Twitter, this video is clearly edited in a way that’s intended to mislead viewers. You should take it down.”

Twitter announced new rules governing media manipulation earlier this week, which provide for the possible removal of videos when, among other instances, “the content has been substantially edited in a manner that fundamentally alters its composition, sequence, timing, or framing.”

House Republicans, meanwhile, offered a resolution on Wednesday calling for Pelosi to be censured for ripping up Trump’s speech.

The resolution, which was introduced by GOP Rep. Kay Granger of Texas, referenced the various Americans the speaker dishonored by her act, which included those in Trump’s video, as well as humanitarian worker and Prescott, Arizona native Kayla Mueller, who was captured and enslaved by the Islamic State group and then reportedly murdered at the direction of its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Mueller’s parents were on hand for the State of the Union address as the president noted the U.S. Special Forces operators who conducted the raid that ended al-Baghdadi’s life were part of “Task Force 8-14,” named for Kayla’s birthday.

Republican Rep. Debbie Lesko of Arizona, who co-sponsored Granger’s resolution, said in a statement to The Western Journal, “The House deserves better and the people deserve better than a speaker who would stoop to such lows.”

“Nancy Pelosi’s actions were petty and demonstrate how the Democrats can’t handle the successes of this President and our country,” Lesko said.

Fox News reported Democrats voted on Thursday to table the resolution to censure the speaker, effectively killing the measure.

James Woods’ 1st Message to Hillary After Returning to Twitter Was as Brutal as It Was Funny

I know plenty of you looked at your Twitter feed Thursday and thought just two words: He’s back!

James Woods — actor, conservative and Twitterer extraordinaire — has been taking a semi-enforced break from social media for a while now.

Last spring, he was blocked from the platform for tweeting, “‘If you try to kill the king, you better not miss.’ #HangThemAll.”

This is actually a pretty common quote that dates from time immemorial, and I don’t think anyone was saying he was threatening to hang anyone, but the prolific tweeter was silenced.

Well, start spreadin’ the news:

The clip he posted, the “blazing insight,” is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s now infamous quote about the phrase “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.”

TRENDING: Former Obama Adviser Bashes Pelosi: ‘I Just Don’t Recognize the Democratic Party’

“You know this idea, this metaphor of a bootstrap started off as a joke,” she said.

Are you glad James Woods is back on Twitter?

“Because, it’s a physical impossibility to lift yourself up by a bootstrap, by your shoelaces, it’s physically impossible. The whole thing is a joke.”

Yeah, phrases implying physically impossible things have never been a part of our colloquial lexicon.

Anyway, I’m over the moon to have James Woods back on Twitter, especially because it’s right after impeachment failed and he had a message for former secretary of state and two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton:

“You, of course, will never be impeached,” Woods tweeted Friday. “One up side to being the most famous loser in American history. So there’s that…”

Which is — well, very, very accurate.

The Hillary Clinton redemption tour now enters its third year, and her appearances have been so frequent there was even some buzz she might be running for president again.

Thankfully for Democratic National Committee head Tom Perez’s blood pressure, that didn’t happen. Now, she’s mostly out promoting a hagiographical documentary series about herself on Hulu and telling everyone how much she hates Bernie Sanders.

Unhelpfully for her, Sanders has plenty of momentum and looks to have a real shot at winning the Democratic presidential nomination.

So much for that legacy.

Clinton didn’t even get to be impeached, and now the Democrats might even nominate Bernie. Donald Trump is still president — and with any luck will have four more years in the office. All is right with the world, unless, of course, you’re a Clinton.

There were some pretty other epic first-day tweets from Woods, as well.

For instance, he had a few questions as to what had happened in his absence.

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz answered one of them, which prompted more questioning:

Woods was, however, paying attention to certain stories:

And finally, he had some serious words for those who welcomed him back:

There are plenty of people who missed you, James, including this writer. My guess is that Hillary Clinton wasn’t one of them, however.

Actor Gary Sinise was honored Thursday by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for his work supporting America’s wounded warriors.

During a ceremony at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, he was awarded the Patriot Award, the highest honor given out by the organization, according to KABC.

In 2004, Sinise formed the Lt. Dan Band, which plays for active-duty troops and veteran. In 2011, he established the Gary Sinise Foundation, which has adapted 70 smart homes for veterans who suffered crippling wounds in the service of their nation.

Sinise’s role as Lt. Dan in the movie “Forrest Gump” was a pivotal moment in his life, he said in an interview with the USO.

“[W]hen you see the story of Lt. Dan, that’s a hopeful story for our … wounded veterans, because he’s a wounded combat veteran and he is also able to be successful in life,” Sinise said. “He’s married at the end and he’s standing up on new legs. You never thought you’d see him out of the wheelchair.”

“I could not have foreseen that the Lt. Dan character would be a character that has a life of its own beyond the movie,” he said. “I think part of that is because, when I started working with the USO and visiting our hospitals and meeting this entire new generation of amputees, the character and its relation to me became sort of a conversation piece with our wounded in the hospitals. It’s been a blessing and a benefit to be able to have this association with wounded in our military community.”

Sinise said that the aftermath of Sept. 11 also changed him, according to Time.

“Quite frankly, if we hadn’t been attacked on Sept. 11, and we didn’t deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan, and our people didn’t start getting hurt and killed, I don’t know what I’d be doing right now,” he said. “After we were attacked and [I saw] those images of what happened that day, and then our troops were deployed and getting hurt and killed, something clicked in me, and I just wanted to do something.”

Sinise’s activities span the country.

Last month, retired Army Maj. Jeremy Haynes and his family moved into a new smart home in Virginia that has doorways made to accommodate the wheelchair he needs because he was left paralyzed after being shot in Afghanistan.

Sinise and his foundation helped build the house, according to WJLA.

“The house that stands before us is a small symbol of that gratitude and a deep respect from a grateful nation,” Sinise said in a recording that welcomed Haynes to his new home.

Sinise said last year that serving veterans should transcend politics,

“How have our defenders become a political issue? They defend us all. They are us all,” he argued. “There are Democrats who serve our country, there are Republicans who serve our country.”

Sinise said everyone can do something for veterans.

“I know that not everybody can get on an airplane and go over to a hospital in Germany or travel to war zones or do all the things that I’m doing,” he said. “[But] if everybody in every neighborhood, in every community, in every city, in every town and in every state took a little bit of responsibility to reach out to the military families and say, ‘What do you need? What can I do to help you?’, the problems that veterans have [would be] minimized.”
