Study: Six Percent of the Miami-Dade Population Have Coronavirus Antibodies

About six percent of the population in Florida’s Miami-Dade have developed antibodies to the novel coronavirus, preliminary results from a University of Miami study released Friday revealed.

Officials in Miami-Dade, one of the areas in Florida hit hardest by the virus, prompted a countywide survey to estimate the percentage of the population that has been exposed to the virus. Researchers conducted the survey over two weeks, testing roughly 1,400 individuals and estimating that six percent of the population has antibodies. Half of those who tested positive for antibodies reportedly exhibited no symptoms of the virus in the 14-17 days prior to the test.

The Miami Herald reported:

UM researchers used statistical methods to account for the limitations of the antibody test, which is known to generate some false positive results. The researchers say they are 95% certain that the true amount of infection lies between 4.4% and 7.9% of the population, with 6% representing the best estimate.

That would mean about 165,000 estimated infections in Miami-Dade, with the margin of error equating to 123,000 residents on the low end and 221,000 residents on the high end.

The results follow New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) detailing the preliminary results of a statewide antibody test, which found that nearly 14 percent of New Yorkers statewide, 13.9 percent, tested positive for antibodies. More than 21 percent tested positive in New York City alone.

“If the infection rate is 13.9 percent, then it changes the theories of what the death rate is if you get infected,” Cuomo explained during Thursday’s press briefing.

“Thirteen percent of the population is about 2.7 million people who have been infected. If you look at what we have now as a death total, which is 15,500, that would be about a 0.5 percent death rate,” he explained.

Miami-Dade had 10,926 confirmed cases of the virus as of Saturday morning.

Online Mob ‘Names and Shames’ British Mother for Not Clapping for NHS

A social media mob descended upon a British mother, “naming and shaming” her for missing the weekly “clap for carers” event meant to show solidarity with National Health Service (NHS) workers during the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

The woman said that she fell asleep after having a “rough night” with her young son, forcing her to miss the clapping campaign. She said that her neighbours instantly turned on her, posting her name on a community Facebook group in order to shame her for not clapping.

“I was mortified. The post said everyone else turned out and I showed the street up and if I can’t spend a minute showing my appreciation I don’t deserve to use the NHS if I or my family get ill,” she said per Sky News.

“I just feel like I’m a total outcast on my previously friendly street now even though only one person posted it and only two others agreed,” the mother added.

“It’s really disturbing how quickly people are ready to turn on each other and ‘report’ each other,” she concluded.

After posting her story on the parenting forum Mumsnet, the mother received messages of support.

“I work for the NHS and I don’t go in for the clapping, and I wouldn’t judge anyone else who didn’t,” said one user.

“Just reply ‘sorry, didn’t think I should leave my vomiting child to clap’ to shame them back. Awful,” added another.

Since the national lockdown restrictions were introduced last month, police forces across the country have been inundated with complaints from people trying to inform on their neighbour for allegedly violating the pandemic rules.

The number of complaints has been so high that some police forces have established online reporting portals in order to free up emergency service phone lines.

“We are getting calls from people who say ‘I think my neighbour is going out on a second run – I want you to come and arrest them’,” said Nick Adderley of the Northamptonshire Police.

“We have had dozens and dozens of these calls,” he added.

Sweden Shuts Down Its Last Remaining Confucius Institute

Sweden shut down its last remaining Chinese state-funded teaching programme – known as Confucius Institutes – this week as tensions between the two nations increase.

Sweden is believed to be the first European nation to have closed all of its Confucius Institutes, a move viewed as a sign of the strained relationship between the two countries, according to a report by The Times.

The report added that the two nations have had a falling out over the arrest of Gui Minhai, a Swedish citizen who had published books that offended the Chinese Communist Party and that, since then, China has cancelled trade missions to Sweden as its ambassador to Stockholm has warned that Beijing said, “For our enemies, we have a shotgun.”

Additionally, Chinese state media have criticized Sweden’s handling of the Wuhan coronavirus, describing it as “capitulation” and a danger to other countries, reports The Times.

Confucius Institutes are Chinese state-funded organizations established at schools around the world. While communist China claims that the institutes promote Chinese language and culture, critics say the regime uses them to manipulate universities into parroting Chinese propaganda and intimidating anti-communist thinkers at universities.

Former leader of the Chinese Communist Party Li Changchun described Confucius Institutes as “an important part of China’s overseas propaganda set-up,” according to The Economist.

“Public opinion of China has become a lot more negative in Sweden,” said doctor Björn Jerden, the head of the Asia program at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs in Stockholm.

“This is quite significant, since Sweden used to be one of the most active countries in Europe in terms of the number of these agreements,” Jerden added.

Confucius Institutes have also been getting shut down in the United States – especially now, amid tensions with China.

This year, the University of Missouri (Mizzou) announced the closing of its Confucius Institute after the U.S. Department of State notified the school that it is no longer allowed to have Chinese instructors teaching Mandarin without the supervision of a Chinese-speaking American.

Arizona State, Indiana, San Francisco State, Western Kentucky Universities, and the Universities of Hawaii at Manoa, Kansas, Oregon, and Rhode Island have also all closed their Confucius Institutes.

Last October, the University of Delaware announced its plan to end its ten-year partnership with the Confucius Institute.

In 2018, Texas A&M University terminated its agreement to host two Confucius Institutes at the urging of Representatives Henry Cuellar (D-TX) and Michael McCaul (R-TX), who described the institutes as threats to national security.

Ted Cruz Will Introduce Bill To Stop Chinese Propaganda Station From Reaching Americans

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) plans to introduce a bill that will put a stop to a particular Chinese propaganda station from reaching American listeners via a loophole in U.S. law.

The Washington Free Beacon exclusively obtained a copy of Cruz’s legislation, which would put a halt to the Chinese Communist Party’s exploitation of U.S. law that allows them to use a broadcast tower in Mexico to transmit Chinese propaganda into the U.S. using Phoenix TV, and outlet that was purchased in 2018 by a group with ties to the Chinese government.

“China should not be able to set up shop in Mexico and blanket America with propaganda. Every year, the [Chinese Communist Party] spends billions of dollars purchasing news outlets and waging information warfare to extend the reach of its propaganda and whitewash the unflattering and politically inconvenient truths about its totalitarian regime,” Cruz told the Free Beacon.

“We are seeing this play out right now as news outlets across the country parrot Chinese talking points about the coronavirus pandemic—a pandemic that could have been prevented,” he added. “I look forward to introducing this legislation when Congress returns and closing FCC loopholes that allow China to wage their information warfare from across the border in Mexico.”

Phoenix TV has been exploiting an FCC loophole that permits content produced in the United States to be broadcast back into the United States by radio towers more powerful than those located within the country. Phoenix TV, which is headquartered in California, produces its content domestically and then uses the powerful Mexican station to ensure it reaches American ears in California.

Cruz’s bill would ban the FCC from granting licenses for broadcasts from across the Mexican border when the new owners seek to change the language of the station they are purchasing—unless the FCC can guarantee they were free from foreign government influence.

The bill would also apply to those seeking to purchase radio towers in Canada that are capable of broadcasting into the United States.

Phoenix TV entered the spotlight earlier this month when a reporter from the outlet continuously asked President Donald Trump if he was working with China to stop the spread of the coronavirus and highlighted what China was allegedly doing to help. Trump asked the reporter if she worked for China or a China-owned news outlet and the reporter said “no,” that it was privately owned. As The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra previously reported, however, the station is controlled by the Chinese Communist Propaganda Department.

Cruz had sounded the alarm on Phoenix TV back in 2018, calling attention to the purchase of Mexico’s XEWW AM 690 station by an investment group – H&H Capital – with ties to Phoenix TV and the Chinese government.

“The actual beneficiary owner of this deal is reportedly Phoenix Satellite TV,” Cruz wrote in 2018, as quoted by the Free Beacon. “Though ‘Phoenix Satellite TV’ does not appear anywhere in the H&H Group’s application, the address listed for programing content—3810 Durbin St., Irwindale, CA 91706—is a building owned by Phoenix Satellite TV USA.”

Stunning documents withheld for years from former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s defense reveal that the retired three-star general did not commit any crimes, as suggested by Department of Justice prosecutors in former Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation, his attorney said.

Embattled Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has hired well known defense attorney Sidney Powell to represent him before his sentencing hearing in Washington D.C.’s federal court.

Flynn, who fired his attorney’s last week, will still fully cooperate with the government in all cases pending, Powell told SaraACarter.com.

The new evidence was turned over to Sidney Powell, Flynn’s defense lawyer, by U.S. Attorney Timothy Shea, who obtained the information after an extensive review by attorneys appointed by U.S. Attorney General William Barr to review Flynn’s case. Barr’s team included United States attorney in St. Louis, Jeff Jensen, who is handling the Flynn matter, along with prosecutors from the office of the deputy attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen.

The documented evidence was sent to Powell by Shea but is under court seal.

“The enclosed documents were obtained and analyzed by USA EDMO in March and April 2020 and are provided to you as a result of this ongoing review; additional documents may be forthcoming. These materials are covered by the Protective Order entered by the Court on February 21, 2018,” Shea’s letter to Powell states.

Powell, who could not discuss the exact contents of the Brady material she has now obtained but has been fighting for since taking Flynn’s case, told SaraACarter.com the material exonerates her client.

“What else has the FBI buried,” said Powell to this reporter Friday.

“Where’s the original 302? And obviously some of the good agents are finally stepping up.”

In the supplement to Flynn’s motion to dismiss his case for egregious government misconduct Powell stated Friday that “this afternoon, the government produced to Mr. Flynn stunning Brady evidence that proves Mr. Flynn’s allegations of having been deliberately set up and framed by corrupt agents at the top of the FBI.”

“It also defeats any argument that the interview of Mr. Flynn on January 24 was material to any ‘investigation.’ The government has deliberately suppressed this evidence from the inception of this prosecution—knowing there was no crime by Mr. Flynn,” she added.

According to the documents produced by the government Powell “has found further evidence of misconduct by Mr. Van Grack specifically,” referring to the DOJ prosecutor in Flynn’s case, Brandon Van Grack.

“Not only did he make baseless threats to indict Michael G. Flynn, he made a side deal not to prosecute Michael G. Flynn as a material term of the plea agreement, but he required that it be kept secret between himself and the Covington attorneys expressly to avoid the requirement of Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 150 (1972). Exs. 1, 2,” she states in the motion.

“Since August 2016 at the latest, partisan FBI and DOJ leaders conspired to destroy Mr. Flynn,” Powell argued to the court in the motion.

“These documents show in their own handwriting and emails that they intended either to create an offense they could prosecute or at least get him fired. Then came the incredible malfeasance of Mr. Van Grack’s and the SCO’s prosecution despite their knowledge there was no crime by Mr. Flynn.”

“All this new evidence, and the government has advised there is more to come, proves that the crimes were committed by the FBI officials and then the prosecutors,” Powell’s motion to dismiss Flynn’s case states.

“The government’s misconduct in this case is beyond shocking and reprehensible.  It mandates dismissal.”

“Furthermore, this Court should order the government immediately to provide the defense with unredacted copies of the documents we have filed under seal solely in an abundance of caution because the government produced them under the protective order, and we request that they be unsealed as provided herein as Exhibit 3,” the motion states.

Powell, who has had a long battle to obtain the evidence and is still fighting to obtain information from FBI Director Christopher Wray, who replaced fired FBI Director James Comey said, “this Court must dismiss this concocted prosecution of General Flynn in full recognition of the travesty of justice that it is.”

Man Gets Royal Treatment as Only Passenger on Southwest Airlines Flight

When Bob Pitts boarded his Southwest Airlines flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to St. Louis, Missouri, he was last in line to board.

But that didn’t worry Pitts much. He was also the first — and only — passenger to board the flight, according to NBC News.

Pitts documented his unique experience last week in a series of videos that he made available to NBC.

“We’re going on our little flight from Ft. Lauderdale to St. Louis,” Pitts, who chose an aisle seat, said in one of the videos. “It’s about 8:30 and I’m the only person on the plane.”

“It’s a very, very, very unique experience,” he added.

Pitts wore a gray bandanna as a face covering.

He shared one video showing the pre-departure announcement greeting he received from the crew.

“I’m talking to Bob,” a flight attendant said to the pilot.

“Hi Bob,” the pilot said, before Pitts returned the greeting.

During the pre-flight announcement, the flight attendant told him to make sure that “all those carry-on items you brought on board are underneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin, leaving the area around your feet clear.”

“Thanks for coming along with us,” the flight attendant said.

In another video, Pitts is asked by a flight attendant how is doing

“I’m doing fine. Thank you so much. Doing just perfect. I feel like I’m VIP,” he said.

When asked who he had been talking to moments beforehand, he told the flight attendant, “I’m just making a video. Talking to myself. There’s nobody to talk to.”

Pitts was making the trip to St. Louis for the wake of his mother.

Survey: As COVID Shutdowns Take Hold, 65% of Churches Face Decreased Giving

Donations to churches have plummeted amid the lockdowns imposed on American communities to fight the spread of the coronavirus, according to a new survey.

The annual “State of the Plate” survey conducted by the National Association of Evangelicals found that 65 percent of churches polled are reporting a drop in their normal giving since the outbreak began.

Although 8 percent of churches reported an increase in giving, that figure was dwarfed by the number of churches who said giving was down, according to an NAE news release.

Thirty-four percent of the 1,091 churches surveyed between April 8 and April 20 said giving was down between 10 percent and 20 percent-plus since mid-March, while 22 percent said it was down between 30 percent and 50 percent-plus. Nine percent said giving was down 75 percent or more.

Twenty-seven percent, meanwhile, reported giving was steady.

Churches in many communities have been shuttered since mid-March, meaning that the Easter season — usually a time when church attendance spikes — instead became a time of financial drought.

“For pastors and church staff, there will be difficult days ahead as more church families are laid off or experience reduced incomes,” Brian Kluth, director of NAEfinancialhealth.org and national spokesman for the NAE’s “Bless Your Pastor” movement, told The Washington Times.

“We’ve seen nothing like this decline, and never a shift in donations that dramatic,” Kluth added to Newsmax.

Kluth said churches were impacted as shutdowns and lockdowns cost Americans their jobs and ended their church-going habits.

“Major industries were affected, incomes were down, and there has been a major economic aftershock,” he said. “And that has meant that the budgets of churches have declined and payrolls of churches have declined.”

The decline is far worse than the dip in giving that came as a result of the 2008 economic recession, Kluth added.

“This is much worse than the [Great] Recession was,” he told The Times. “This is more across the board and deeper.”

Church leaders across the nation appear to agree.

“We had to let our organist go. We had to let our janitor go and then, of course, I’m at home. I’m not getting paid,” Pastor Allan Boyer of the First Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Paterson, New Jersey, told WCBS. He said donations are down almost 50 percent.

Matt Goodsell, pastor of Ashland Baptist Church in Boone County, Missouri, said the church is surviving, but not doing much more.

The church’s financial manager “told me we have been staying above water. What’s been coming in has just been enough to sustain what’s going out,” Goodsell told The Times. “But, of course, we’re aren’t doing the ministry we normally do, either.”

Rev. Rickey Scott, pastor of East St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church near Oxford, Mississippi, voiced his frustration with the situation.

“It’s like a father who can’t do for their child. Like if God sent Jesus to Earth but couldn’t do nothing for him. There’s nothing I can do, and that’s one of the worst things a father can say to a child,” he told The Washington Post, adding that with the church having suffered a 65 percent funding drop, he has cut all staff.

Although he streams services, he knows that in a region of low connectivity and with a congregation not attuned to technology, few receive his message.

“I see my psychological effect like that of the Apostle Paul when he was in prison, to the Philippians,” he said. “I feel I’m in spiritual solitary confinement. For the sake of Jesus Christ, I have to endure this suffering.”

Pastor J. Artie Stuckey of Restoration Baptist Church near Jackson, Mississippi, has seen its weekly offerings fall by 50 percent and said the church is struggling to survive.

“I made a commitment to God, to my people. We’ve been teaching and preaching faith. Anyone can be a leader, but if you’re a faith leader, what do we do?” he told The Post. “Do we fold, or do we become a living example of what we’ve preached for so many years?”

The survey said that churches have largely successfully transitioned to online services, reporting that such services were attracting between two and five times the numbers of viewers they had prior to the virus’ interruption of life.

Kluth said that trend could remain even after restrictions have eased.

The poll was “organized by Kluth with the participation of organizations such as Christianity Today’s Church Law & Tax and NAE Financial Health,” according to the NAE news release. It surveyed churches from all 50 states.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been wrong on the coronavirus pandemic — Every step of the way!

Here is a list of several errors, contradictory statements and dangerous gaffes by NIAID Director Dr. Tony Fauci.

1.)  Dr. Fauci says he warned Trump in January that the US was in real trouble but that is not what he said publicly.

In January Dr. Anthony Fauci told Newsmax TV that the United States “did not have to worry” about the coronavirus and that it was “not a major threat.”

2.)  Dr. Fauci warned of an apocalyptic coronavirus pandemic — then just weeks later he later compared the coronavirus to a bad flu.

3.) Dr. Fauci based all of his predictions on garbage IHME models that were OFF BY MILLIONS and then later told reporters, “You can’t really rely on models.”

4.) On March 20th Dr. Fauci jumped in and “corrected” the president during a press briefing on hydroxychloroquine treatment for coronavirus saying, “You got to be careful when you say ‘fairly effective.’ It was never done in a clinical trial… It was given to individuals and felt that maybe it worked.”

Exactly two weeks later hydroxychloroquine was deemed the most highly rated treatment for the novel coronavirus in an international poll of more than 6,000 doctors.

5.)  Dr. Fauci pushed these garbage models every step of the way.

A month ago Dr. Fauci claimed 1 million to 2 million Americans would die from coronavirus. Then he said 100,000 to 200,000 Americans will die from the virus. Three weeks ago he agreed 81,766 Americans would die from the coronavirus. Then by that Wednesday the experts cut the number of deaths to 60,415 projected deaths.

6.)  On Easter Dr. Fauci suggested President Trump should have shut down the economy in February…  When the number of known cases in the US was around 100.  Fauci later walked back his attacks.

7.) Dr. Fauci said cruises were OK on March 9th.  That was a huge error.

8.) Dr. Fauci said malls, movies and gyms were OK on February 29th.  That was another huge mistake.

9.) Dr. Fauci was wrong about the first coronavirus deaths in the country. Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx and the CDC were off by nearly a month. California officials revealed Tuesday that a patient in Santa Clara died from coronavirus on February 6th not February 29th.

10.) Dr. Fauci and the CDC missed the millions and millions of US citizens who had already contracted the coronavirus before the draconian lockdowns took place.  Knowing this could have prevented the economic calamity.

11.) And in his worst mistake Dr. Fauci relied on corrupt W.H.O rules to lock down the United States and destroy the US economy. Meanwhile, this delays the herd immunity that is needed to prevent a future outbreak of this deadly virus.

These mistakes will take years to correct.

Only in government can someone with this record still keep a job.

General Michael Flynn was the first victim of the conspiracy of senior officials at the CIA, DOJ and FBI to unseat President Trump, and a leak about court-sealed new evidence in the legal case against him, under review by a US Attorney, upon close analysis points to a new key member, a point man of the conspiracy, a name until now only familiar to students of the Russia Hoax.  A new visage is going to join Comey, Brennan, McCabe, Strzok, Page, and Rosenstein on the front page of the cabal’s rogues’ gallery: Dana Boente.

On April 24, The US Attorney reviewing the case against Flynn released new evidence to Flynn’s lawyers, putting it under seal. His lawyer Sidney Powell gleefully tweeted:

New court documents filed under seal include significant exculpatory information about Michael Flynn, President Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser, an FBI official familiar with the situation told The Federalist on Friday. The new documents, which were filed under seal by the Department of Justice Friday, allegedly include exonerating evidence about Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators about his conversations with foreign diplomats as Trump’s top incoming foreign policy adviser and is currently attempting to withdraw his plea, as well as evidence of malfeasance by the FBI during its investigation of Flynn.

According to the FBI official who spoke to The Federalist, FBI general counsel Dana Boente led the charge internally against DOJ’s disclosure of the new materials. Boente, who briefly served as acting Attorney General after Trump became president, personally signed off on one of the federal spy warrants against former Trump campaign affiliate Carter Page. The new documents, which were filed under a protective order by DOJ on Friday, will reflect poorly on the FBI, the official told The Federalist. It is not clear when, or even if, those documents will be unsealed and made available to the public for review.

Boente was covering up the railroading of General Flynn, which is bad enough. And he signed off on a phony FISA warrant, a crime.  But that is far from Boente’s only role in the conspiracy. Sundance of The Conservative Treehouse, who has a matchless command of the minutiae of the evidence of this conspiracy so far, has been arguing for years that Boente was a key conspirator.  Now, with this latest disclosure, he fits together the pieces in a meticulous fashion.

Early on CTH identified Dana Boente as part of the problem.  Dana Boente was part of the group who advised Sessions to recuse. Boente later authorized the second renewal of the Title-one surveillance warrant and worked with James Comey. Boente then leaked his Comey notes to the media (MSNBC), essentially to support Comey’s narrative about Trump; and participated from within the FBI as legal counsel to Chris Wray who told everyone in July 2018 there was no political bias in the FBI…

A long and detailed review of Boente’s very curious career moves follows. Sundance doesn’t mention this as even a hypothesis, but to my eyes it looks a lot like he was moved around among important posts in the FBI and Justice Department (sometimes holding multiple jobs at once) as a kind of hatchet man to get the necessary job done. Just a theory, though, until we learn more, maybe when that evidence is unsealed,

Boente took over for former chief legal counsel James Baker, after the discoveries around Baker and McCabe could no longer be hidden. After being removed from responsibility eventually Baker resigned and went to work with the Lawfare group.  Boente’s job at FBI was/is to bury information, block congressional inquiry, and protect the crew. Boente, along with Christopher Wray, is still there.

 

In a Fox News interview on Sunday, June 23, 2019, Devin Nunes said “someone at the FBI” appears to have been “determined to hide” then-Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec’s notes from both the FISA court and Congress.  Our research identified that “someone” as Dana Boente and crew in 2018.

Dana Boente was part of the group who advised Sessions to recuse. Boente later authorized the second renewal of the Title-one surveillance warrant and worked with James Comey.
