Trump Was Right: “When the Looting Starts, the Shooting Starts” – Two Federal Officers Shot During Mayhem and Leftist Protests in Oakland, One Dead

Twitter escalated its feud with President Trump early Friday, censoring a tweet on the Minneapolis riots in which Trump warned he would send national guard troops to save the city from its incompetent radical Mayor Jacob Frey if the President had to.  Frey has allowed his city to be looted and set aflame by protesters angry about the death in police custody Monday of George Floyd.

Twitter slapped a warning on Trump’s tweet that it was being violating the rules by “glorifying violence” but would be allowed to remain because it is in the “public’s interest”to see the tweet. However, Twitter disabled likes, replies and bookmarking. Retweeting is allowed, including with a comment, however the retweet shows the warning label that must be clicked on to to see Trump’s tweet.

Trump statement:

“I can’t stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right………These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!

Of course, President Trump was right about the escalation in violence.

On Friday night radical leftists protested, rioted and looted in several US cities.
And the violence escalated in many cities.

In Oakland, California two federal officers were shot

News.com.AU reported:

A Federal Protective Services officer has been killed in protests after two officers suffered gunshot wounds in California.

Two Federal Protective Service officers were shot during a protest in Oakland in California on Friday night, police told CNN. One of the officers died from his injuries.

Protests raged for a fourth night across the US, sparked by the death of African-American man George Floyd, who was allegedly killed by white police officer Derek Chauvin. State and federal authorities are investigating Mr Floyd’s death, and Chauvin has been charged with third degree murder and manslaughter.

“Two Federal Protective Services officers stationed at the Oakland Down Town Federal Building suffered gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, one succumbed to his injury,” the police department said in a statement.

Denmark and Finland have re-opened schools with no increase in Coronavirus cases

Panicky state officials have overreacted to fears of coronavirus, imposing huge unnecessary costs on us. Beyond the massive economic damage of closing down workplaces, the closure of schools is imposing a cost on the future of our children, costing them lost lessons, and psychologically damaging them.  The stress on families, already reeling from lost jobs, is heightened by having children at home, fearful of going outside due to the bogus notion that it is safer indoors than outdoors, still constantly trumpeted by officialdom and “public service” ads in the media.

It is all for nothing. Two Scandinavian nations, Denmark and Finland, have reopened their schools long enough that a theoretical spike in coronavirus cases would have become manifest by now. But as Daniel Payne of Just The News reports, the kids are all right, with social distancing of desks and on the playgrounds.

Danish and Finnish flags

The Nordic countries of Denmark and Finland are reporting no increase in the spread of coronavirus since opening their respective schools, further suggesting that children are less likely to be sickened by COVID-19 and spread the virus.

Denmark began sending its children back to school on April 15 (snip)

Similar measures were put into place in Finland to keep children from congregating in large groups. (snip)

Both countries say the pandemic has not spiked since schools re-opened. Cases and deaths in Denmark appear to have peaked in early April. Finland’s infection rate appears to have peaked around the same time, though its death rate remained almost entirely flat throughout the pandemic, aside from two one-day spikes late last month.

 Free the schools!

What the rioters, and their apologists, have squandered

First of all, a disclaimer: In stark, unmistakable contrast to the narrative being promulgated by the so-called news networks, I am not conflating rioting (with its subsets of looting, burning and pillaging) and protesting.

If there was one positive thing provided by the death of George Floyd, it was the sheer universality of the condemnation of the shameful, inhuman behavior of the police officer and his colleagues in whose custody Mr. Floyd met his end (I say “if there was instead of “if there were” because that one positive thing is already a thing of the past).

It was the one thing that distinguished this incident from every other one that has inspired widespread protests, be it the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Freddie Gray or any of so many others. In every one of these preceding incidents, there were voices disputing the “victim” status of the departed, and often making a viable case. Not everyone was on board with the protests, even before they degenerated into riots.

But in the case of George Floyd there was nobody who was not outraged at the barbarity of the tactic used on him. Everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity or political persuasion, felt and expressed the same degree of disgust at the cruelty we all witnessed. Even the law enforcement community, famous for closing ranks to defend one of its own (sometimes justifiably, sometimes not), saw the incident as an atrocity, and its members weren’t the least bit shy about saying so. There was not a single voice even attempting to blame Mr. Floyd or to put a positive spin on the actions of the police officers.

The incident had, for an all-too-brief moment, the remarkable capacity to unite our nation in a way that hasn’t been seen since 9/11.

And there was a glimpse of that unity in the spontaneous protests that occurred, populated by Americans of every stripe. Across all conceivable demographics there wasn’t a whiff of justification for the death of George Floyd, nor a jot nor tittle of sympathy or apology for those who facilitated his death.

But then “some people did something”.

As my dad used to say, “They just couldn’t leave well enough alone.” All that unity, all that sympathy, all that consensus just wasn’t quite good enough.

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow Americans from every walk of life and raising their voices together to shout demands for accountability somehow wasn’t enough to channel some people’s anger, and it did nothing to assuage some people’s greed, which of course had nothing to do with the case, but that didn’t matter when presented with the opportunity to go on a looting spree and bring home a new TV.

And it didn’t serve the agenda of divisiveness to which some people are dedicated.

Even when the looting first started, there was still a distinction between the criminals breaking windows and stripping store shelves and the legitimate, civilized protestors (who managed to refrain from destruction and theft). Even the heavily-armed self-described “Rednecks” who were interviewed on TV while voluntarily protecting a smoke shop from the pillaging hordes were quick and unequivocal in pointing out that they supported the protestors’ cause!

YouTube screen grab

It was only when the “news”, and the usual gang of America-hating politicians and celebritards deliberately became apologists for the pillagers, painting protesting and rioting as two sides of the same coin, did all that unity, commiseration and sympathy come to be squandered. George Floyd’s death might have actually served a positive, noble purpose, but No. The last thing these cynical, opportunistic Leftists want to see is all Americans unified and in agreement over anything.

George Floyd Autopsy Finds No Evidence of Asphyxia or Strangulation, Family Plans Second Examination

The preliminary autopsy results of George Floyd found no evidence that he died of asphyxiation or strangulation, according to the criminal complaint filed against former Minneapolis police office Derek Chauvin, who is accused of kneeling on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes.

Floyd’s family has now hired forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden to perform a second, independent autopsy, Baden confirmed to Fox News.

Baden, who formerly was New York City’s chief medical examiner, said he was set to travel to Minneapolis on Saturday and announce his findings next week.

Chauvin, 44, was arrested and charged Friday with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

The case, which grew out of an arrest over suspicion of Floyd trying to buy merchandise with a counterfeit $20 bill, became a national flashpoint after video of Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck circulated on social media.

His death has sparked protests across the United States this week, which in many cases have turned into riots.

According to the criminal complaint against Chauvin, Floyd fell to the ground when police sought to get him into a squad car.

“The officers made several attempts to get Mr. Floyd in the backseat of squad 320 from the driver’s side,” the complaint said. “Mr. Floyd did not voluntarily get in the car and struggled with the officers by intentionally falling down, saying he was not going in the car, and refusing to stand still.”

“While standing outside the car, Mr. Floyd began saying and repeating that he could not breathe,” the complaint added, saying that Chauvin “went to the passenger side and tried to get Mr. Floyd into the car from that side” with help from other officers.

Chauvin “pulled Mr. Floyd out of the passenger side of the squad car at 8:19:38 p.m. and Mr. Floyd went to the ground face down and still handcuffed,” it said.

While other officers held his back and legs, the complaint said Chauvin “placed his left knee in the area of Mr. Floyd’s head and neck.”

“Mr. Floyd said, ‘I can’t ‘breathe’ multiple times and repeatedly said, ‘Mama’ and ‘please’ as well,” the complaint said, later adding: “The officers said, ‘You are talking fine.’”

After several minutes, when officers could not find a pulse on Floyd, Chauvin “removed his knee from Mr. Floyd’s neck,” according to the complaint.

The complaint noted: “The Hennepin County Medical Examiner (ME) conducted Mr. Floyd’s autopsy on May 26 , 2020. The full report of the ME is pending but the ME has made the following preliminary findings.

“The autopsy revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.”

The complaint then cited other possible reasons Floyd died.

“Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease. The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death,” it said.

“The defendant had his knee on Mr. Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in total. Two minutes and 53 seconds of this was after Mr. Floyd was non-responsive. Police are trained that this type of restraint with a subject in a prone position is inherently dangerous.”

Ben Crump and S. Lee Merritt, attorneys for Floyd’s family, said a second autopsy was needed, recalling the 2014 death of Eric Garner, who was put in a chokehold by New York City police and later died. Baden performed an autopsy in the Garner case.

“We saw in the Eric Garner case, and so many other cases where they have people who work with the city workers come up with things that are such an illusion — he had asthma, he had a heart condition — all these things that are irrelevant when they were living, breathing, walking, talking, just fine until the police accosted them,” Crump said at a news conference, according to ABC News.

Crump framed the case as an example of what he claimed is a national climate of racism.

“We have been dealing with the pandemic of racism and discrimination for far too long,” he said.

“It is a pandemic, a national pandemic, we cannot keep looking at this regionally, this is affecting all African-Americans, this a state of emergency.

“If we don’t address this in the next month or two we will see another senseless, unjustifiable killing of an African-American at the hands by people who are police or pretend to be police,” Crump added.

KLAVAN: Of Course Trump Is Right About Twitter

Of course Trump is right about Twitter. What are we even talking about? Of course he is.

The Wall Street Journal, and other conservative venues, have the shivers over the president’s recent executive order concerning social media. The EO takes aim at section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which allows social media platforms some leeway to moderate content without being held legally responsible for that content.

Twitter is misusing that protection in order to censor conservative speech. There is no question about this. There is no gray area. They put a warning on a Trump tweet expressing concern about the possibility of fraud in mass mail-in votes. The warning referred readers to leftwing sites like CNN and The Washington Post whose views on this matter differ from the president’s. Do they fact check tweets from CNN to tell readers that the president disagrees? Of course not.

The other day, Trump tweeted some thunder at the thugs looting and burning Minneapolis. Twitter put a warning on the tweet, saying it “glorified violence” because it contained the phrase “when the looting starts, the shooting starts.” Left wing tweets — like one from leftist filmmaker Michael Moore encouraging rioters to “demolish” a local police station — which the rioters did — carried no warning.

The Twitter Head of Site Integrity is Yoel Roth, a man who has called the Trump administration Nazis and suggested that the “flyover” states that voted for him support fascism. When this was pointed out, Twitter head Jack Dorsey said, “Please leave our employees out of this,” because he was “ultimately responsible.” What the hell does that even mean? A Stalinist lowlife is undermining the president’s right to communicate with the people. Hit the road, Jack.

The Wall Street Journal frets: “Facebook, YouTube and Twitter aren’t utilities or soapboxes in the park. They’re businesses that earn piles of money by selling ads against your missives. They’re within their rights to set community standards and spike posts they deem a violation.”

Nonsense. Nonsense too are legalistic arguments that Twitter is not the federal government and therefore not subject to the First Amendment.

This is a classic case of conservatives vanishing up their own fundament on the issue of speech. Conservative media outlets tremble now if a social conservative expresses the opinion that homosexuality is a sin. They cancel conservatives who fear demographic change through unchecked immigration, accepting the leftist charge that this is bigotry per se. They avoid those — like myself — who feel that feminism is destructive to the lives of women.

This policy in conservative media outlets comes down to this: “We are yellow-bellied cowards afraid to fight the war of ideas lest it cost us money and reputation but, boy oh boy, are we going to sound angry about stuff so you’ll pay us gobs of money to scream and yell uselessly while the left takes over the country.”

Social media is the new way we talk to one another. If our free speech is being hampered on social media — and it is being hampered by leftists who want to silence conservatives — that has to be fixed. That there may be problems and obstacles to fixing that is part of the process. Solve the problems. Overcome the obstacles. However it’s done, do it. It’s not allowed. It’s not American. And if somehow we’ve mistakenly made it legal, change the bloody law.

The Left used to understand that corporations can become dangerous power centers that threaten freedom. But now, since corporations are largely in line with leftist ideas, they’ve abandoned that truth. It remains a truth nonetheless. If teams of conservative lawyers working round the clock can’t figure out that giant communications corporations censoring conservative speech spells the practical end of the First Amendment and therefore can’t be protected by the First Amendment, then my prescription is that we get some different lawyers.

A visceral hatred of Donald Trump in some quarters of conservativism has blinded conservatives to the fact that he is the one and only major conservative figure who understands the battle we’re in. It’s not against Democrats. It’s not against socialists. It’s against a communications industry — news, entertainment, and now social media — in which censoring the Right has become the norm.

Trump is absolutely right. Twitter is censoring conservatives. By any means necessary, it has to be stopped.

Bill De Blasio Fine With George Floyd Protests Even As Businesses, Other Gatherings Must Adhere To Coronavirus Rules Or Face Fines

Even though New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has threatened to fine religious gatherings and businesses who re-open before he says so, he is now okay with the often-violent demonstrations over the death of George Floyd, who died in a police-involved incident.

“I want to just say anyone who wants to protest, we’re going to protect your right to protest, but please also respect [that] the cop in front of you did not create the problem,” de Blasio told listeners to “The Brian Lehrer Show” on WNYC radio.

The New York Post reported that de Blasio “was referring to the hundreds of activists who gathered in Lower Manhattan Thursday — in violation of the city’s pandemic lockdown rules — in the latest national demonstration sparked in the days since a handcuffed Floyd, who was black, died after a white police officer held him to the ground with a knee to his neck in Minneapolis.”

“While many protesters in the city wore protective face masks, they largely flouted social-distancing rules,” the Post continued. “Over 70 demonstrators were arrested including for criminal possession of a weapon and assaulting officers.”

De Blasio then urged police to respond to rioters with “a light touch.”

“I want to see a light touch because people are undeniably angry for a reason,” he said, according to the Post.

More from the Post:

De Blasio said nothing about the demonstrators violating city and state rules against large gatherings, even though he insisted earlier this month that rallies “spread the disease and help kill people.”

In early May, nine protesters pushing for the Empire State to reopen from its coronavirus lockdown were busted outside City Hall for not obeying social distancing guidelines.

At the time, Blasio said gatherings, including the small reopen protest, are prohibited.

“We’re not allowing any kind of gathering, period,” the mayor said at a press briefing.

“I don’t care if it’s 20 people or a hundred people or a thousand people, it’s not going to be allowed. So the point is, if you gather, NYPD is coming there to give you a summons and if you resist, to arrest you, period, across all communities.”

“So no, of course this organization is not allowed to hold a rally that goes against every rule we’ve got. They can express themselves online. There’s all sorts of other ways, but if they attempt to hold a rally, they will be summonsed immediately, and that’s true for people of any viewpoint. We’re not doing rallies at this point. They spread the disease and help to kill people. It’s unacceptable,” he said.

As is typical with the media and Democrat politicians, riots that lead to burning vehicles and buildings, as well as looting and violence, are allowed and even praised, while actual peaceful protests are condemned.

“Bet You Stay Home Now!!” Arsonist Burns Down Lockdown-Rule-Breaking Church

"Bet You Stay Home Now!!" Arsonist Burns Down Lockdown-Rule-Breaking Church

Tyler Durden

Sat, 05/30/2020 – 10:36

Authored by Simon Black via SovereignMan.com,

Are you ready for this week’s absurdity? Here’s our Friday roll-up of the most ridiculous stories from around the world that are threats to your liberty, risks to your prosperity… and on occasion, inspiring poetic justice.

Church burnt down for ignoring lockdown rules

“Bet you stay home now you hypokrits [sic],” read the misspelled graffiti outside of a burnt down church in Mississippi.

That graffiti, of course, is suspected to have come from the unidentified arsonist. The motive: the church ignored the city’s lockdown rules, and continued holding services.

This same church sued the city of Holly Springs over the lockdowns after being cited for holding mass despite city restrictions on how many people could gather, and non-essential businesses.

The lawsuit cites religious freedom guaranteed under the First Amendment, and claims the congregation only held services inside when weather prevented outdoors services. And even then, proper social distancing methods were followed.

But it seems the arsonist took the mainstream media bait. The prevailing attitude is that you’re hurting others by going about your normal life, and not cowering in fear inside your home.

This arson is not front page news because it doesn’t support the mainstream narrative.

It wasn’t the armed protesters who became violent. It was some Quarantine-Karen who thinks your freedom is more dangerous than arson.

Senate wants to ban coronavirus hate speech

A resolution introduced by Kamila Harris in the US Senate condemns “the increased use of anti-Asian rhetoric” which “has resulted in Asian Americans being harassed, assaulted, and scapegoated for the COVID–19 pandemic.”

The resolution claims that “the use of anti-Asian terminology and rhetoric related to COVID–19, such as the ‘‘Chinese Virus’’, ‘‘Wuhan Virus’’, and ‘‘Kung-flu’’, have perpetuated anti-Asian stigma.”

According to the resolution, words like these have allegedly (and only anecdotally) led to an increase in hate crimes against Asian Americans.

The resolution doesn’t actually do anything, except call on public officials to condemn the anti-Asian rhetoric.

It also encourages law enforcement to investigate actual crimes against Asians, which hopefully they were already doing, since that’s their job.

The resolution demands law enforcement compile statistics about anti-Asian bias, starting at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

Surely next the Senate will introduce resolutions condemning anti-religious rhetoric related to the coronavirus lockdowns.

You wouldn’t want people to, say, burn a church to the ground because of the media/ political hysteria.

Woman arrested for sitting on the beach with “We Are Free” sign

A woman went to a beach in Miami, and sat down in the sand with a sign that read: “We Are Free.”

Three police officers promptly responded to show the woman, no, you are not.

Miami police arrested the protester because it is currently illegal to sit on the beach in Miami.

Just think about this. Three police officers woke up that morning and went to work in the “Land of the Free.”

At work these officers ripped a “We Are Free,” sign out of a peaceful citizen’s hands, physically restrained her, and brought her to jail, because she was sitting on a beach.

These officers’ will enforce any arbitrary lockdown rule, however absurd or unconstitutional.

Neighbors Inform on Jewish School in NYC

A private Jewish school in New York City shut down with the rest of the city to slow the spread of coronavirus.

But a couple weeks to slow the spread turned into a couple months with life on hold.

Eventually, students returned to the school, without the permission of NYC.

But later the same day, the school was promptly shut down.

Neighbors called the police to report dozens of teenage students gathering on the premises. Some were not even wearing masks– the horror.

This is one of the latest confrontations between NYC officials punishing Orthodox and Hasidic Jews for flouting the lockdown rules, and continuing to exercise their First Amendment rights to practice religion, and peaceably assemble.

Somehow, turning in your Jewish neighbors for violating arbitrary laws sounds eerily familiar…

Michigan government employees will be paid $600 per week to take a day off

Michigan will usher 31,000 state employees into a federal Work Share program.

The state will “lay off” these employees for one day per week until July. That will save the state $80 million on payroll.

But because workers are technically “laid off” for one day per week, that allows them to be compensated with Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation of $600 per week.

That’s right, it has become the responsibility of the entire nation to chip-in and pay these Michigan government employees $600 for each day they take off, stay home, and relax.

That’s what heroes do these days, right? They do nothing. Stay home and watch Netflix, because the government told them to. So heroic.
