The Left’s Willingness to Tolerate Violence Should Frighten All Americans

“Mostly peaceful.”
So goes the characterization of demonstrations that have routinely turned into looting and rioting for months on end, from Portland to Seattle to New York to Los Angeles. “Protesters in California set fire to a courthouse, damaged a police station and assaulted officers after a peaceful demonstration intensified,” read one recent ABC News tweet. CNN called protests in Portland “mostly peaceful,” adding that “they have at times devolved into violence, vandalism, and arson.” During riots in Los Angeles in June, as the entire county locked down, the Los Angeles Times noted, “The third night of countywide curfews followed days of massive, mostly peaceful protests … Nearly 1,200 people were arrested Sunday after police officers clashed with demonstrators and looters shattered windows and emptied stores in Santa Monica and Long Beach.”
The phrase “mostly peaceful,” then, is rather fungible. Consider that during the tea party protests of 2011, then-Vice President Joe Biden reportedly likened tea partiers to “terrorists” — and those protests were notable mostly for people cleaning up their own litter. When anti-lockdown protesters descended on the Michigan state capitol, a columnist for The New York Times labeled them "armed rebels," despite a complete lack of violence. When three white supremacists were arrested for plotting violence at a pro-gun rally, GQ’s Talia Lavin headlined, “That Pro-Gun Rally in Virginia Wasn’t Exactly ‘Peaceful’” — even though the rally saw no violence.
In truth, the category of “mostly peaceful” is a brand-new invention meant to obscure the simple fact that many of our cultural elites are fine with violence so long as those who engage in such violence have the proper goals. Nikole Hannah-Jones, creator of the pseudo-historical 1619 Project, celebrated when critics labeled rioting and looting “the 1619 riots”; she added that destruction of property was "not violence.” This week, Democrats grilling Attorney General Bill Barr could not be bothered to condemn violence, prompting Barr to rant, “What makes me concerned for the country is this is the first time in my memory the leaders of one of our great two political parties, the Democratic Party, are not coming out and condemning mob violence and the attack on federal courts.” This should come as little surprise, given that those same cultural elites have cheered on massive protests in a time of a deadly pandemic, explaining that sometimes politics is just too important to stop a raging disease.
Our journey back to the 1960s is nearly complete. Too many Americans have rejected some of the key lessons of that time — that a breakdown in law and order costs lives, that political change does not require violence — in favor of a newfound sense of purpose. These Americans will pat the violent vanguard of revolution on the head, content that they will not pay the price, all the while maintaining that those who crave law and order stand for regressive autocracy. Thus, Mayor Jenny Durkan of Seattle recently informed MSNBC that federal law enforcement attempting to stop destruction of federal property in Portland actually represented a “dry run for martial law.”
With Democrats and those in the media willing to run cover for violent leftists, the thin veneer of civilization disintegrates. When violence is excused as speech and speech by the opposition labeled violence, democracies die. With each passing day of silence by those who should know better — or worse, those propagandizing on behalf of those who engage in criminal activity — America draws closer to the brink.

Obama Uses John Lewis Funeral to Call for ‘Eliminating the Filibuster’

Former President Barack Obama used his eulogy at the funeral of Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) to call for an end to the Senate filibuster to pass Democrats’ new legislation on voting reform.

Obama said that Republicans had imitated Jim Crow-era restrictions on voting rights, which Lewis marched against, by passing state voter ID laws and other measures that conservatives argue prevent voter fraud.

He urged Congress to pass a new version of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

“You want to honor John? Let’s honor him by revitalizing the law that he was willing to die for,” Obama said, to applause.

Democrats have pushed for a new version of the law, after the Supreme Court invalidated part of it in 2013, saying that it was outdated.

The new version of the law, which has been renamed for Lewis, would restore federal supervision of state efforts to pass new election reforms.

Obama said Democrats should go beyond that legislation and also enact laws making voter registration automatic, granting the vote to ex-convicts, and making Election Day a national holiday, among other changes.

“And if all this takes is ending the filibuster, another Jim Crow relic, in order to secure the God-given rights of every American, then that’s what we should do.”

Without mentioning Donald Trump by name, Obama likened the president to segregationist Democrat Gov. George Wallace of Alabama, and compared federal law enforcement officers to the police who beat civil rights marchers across the South.

Obama also hinted at statehood for Washington, DC, and for Puerto Rico, describing them as disenfranchised.

DC residents have a delegate, but not a voting representative, in Congress; residents of Puerto Rico cannot vote in national elections.

Both would likely elect two Democrats to the U.S. Senate if they became states, effectively preventing a future Republican majority.

Fauci Accused Of ‘Misinformation Campaign’ Against Hydroxychloroquine; Ohio Gov Wants State Officials To Reverse Prohibition

Fauci Accused Of ‘Misinformation Campaign’ Against Hydroxychloroquine; Ohio Gov Wants State Officials To Reverse Prohibition

Tyler Durden

Thu, 07/30/2020 – 12:39

Update (1240ET): Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) says he agrees with FDA Commissioner Steven Hahn (see below), and has asked the state medical board to "halt their new rule prohibiting the selling or dispensing of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19."

*  *  *

With the science behind the use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to treat COVID-19 far from settled, more than a few people have noted the aggressive campaign against the widely-prescribed anti-malaria drug.

The anti-HCQ push has infected Silicon Valley as well – as tech giants have been labeling pro-hydroxychloroquine content as ‘misinformation’ – most recently banishing a press conference by a group of doctors touting the drug from just about every platform.

To that end, Yale epidemiologist Dr. Harvey Risch has accused Dr. Anthony Fouci of waging a "misinformation campaign" against the drug, according to Just The News.

On Tuesday during an interview on "Good Morning America," Fauci further downplayed the drug’s purported benefit, claiming that "the overwhelming prevailing clinical trials that have looked at the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine have indicated that it is not effective in [treating] coronavirus disease."

Risch, however, is sharply criticizing Fauci’s approach to evaluating the drug’s effectiveness, arguing that repeated trials and tests have shown that it is markedly effective at treating COVID-19 so long as it is administered properly.

On Tuesday, Risch went further, charging in an interview with Just the News that Fauci is perpetrating a "misinformation campaign" in his opposition to the drug.

Fauci "has been maintaining a studious position that only randomized controlled trial evidence has any value," Risch said, "and everything else he calls anecdotal." –Just The News

In a Newsweek Op-Ed published last week, Risch called HCQ "the key to defeating COVID-19," and said it was particularly effective in conjunction with one of two antibiotics and zinc, saying it has "shown to be highly effective."

Risch said the drug could save 100,000 lives if widely deployed.

Meanwhile, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Stephen Hahn noted that some medical observational studies "suggest a benefit" to the drug, also according to Just The News.

"So the FDA looks at all what we call ‘the totality of data,’" Hahn said in a Tuesday morning radio interview with Florida radio host Drew Steele. "There are observational studies that suggest a benefit. There are five randomized trials that did not show a benefit to hydroxychloroquine, both in the prophylactic setting and in the treatment — both early and late." –Just The News

More recently, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) announced that he would be taking "zinc, erythromycin and hydroxychloroquine" after being diagnosed with COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Conservative Firebrand Herman Cain Dies After Battle with Coronavirus

Conservative firebrand, businessman, and former presidential candidate Herman Cain, 74, has died after a weeks-long battle with the novel coronavirus.

Cain’s website released a statement on Thursday morning penned by editor Dan Calabrese.

“You’re never ready for the kind of news we are grappling with this morning. But we have no choice but to seek and find God’s strength and comfort to deal with it,” the post read:

Herman Cain – our boss, our friend, like a father to so many of us – has passed away. He’s entering the presence of the Savior he’s served as an associate minister at Antioch Baptist Church in Atlanta for, and preparing for his reward.

Let me deal with some of the particulars of the last few weeks. We knew when he was first hospitalized with COVID-19 that this was going to be a rough fight. He had trouble breathing and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. We all prayed that the initial meds they gave him would get his breathing back to normal, but it became clear pretty quickly that he was in for a battle.

We didn’t release detailed updates on his condition to the public or to the media because neither his family nor we thought there was any reason for that. There were hopeful indicators, including a mere five days ago when doctors told us they thought he would eventually recover, although it wouldn’t be quick. We were relieved to be told that, and passed on the news via Herman’s social media. And yet we also felt real concern about the fact that he never quite seemed to get to the point where the doctors could advance him to the recovery phase.

“We all prayed so hard every day. We knew the time would come when the Lord would call him home, but we really liked having him here with us, and we held out hope he’d have a full recovery,” Calabrese added.

Cain, who tested positive for the virus earlier this month, was in a high-risk category due to his status as a stage 4 colon cancer survivor.

Tyler Perry on ‘Defund Police’ Push: ‘I Think We Need More Police’

Wednesday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” movie mogul and actor Tyler Perry expressed his concerns over the so-called “Defund Police” protests around the country.

Perry indicated he was “worried” the message was “being hijacked” for the sake of politics in the wake of George Floyd’s death while in the custody of Minneapolis police.

“So, when they saw George Floyd’s death, this horrific, horrible death played out as this man pleaded for his life and begged and said ‘please’ many, many times, it — seeing it changes everything,” he explained. “So I became very, very optimistic when everybody galvanized together because I know that’s when change comes. When people galvanize and come together as one, that’s when change happens.”

“But, lately, I’ve been very, very concerned that the message is being hijacked by some other groups or political ads and parties that are trying to stop the message of what we’re asking for here as police reform, right?” Perry continued. So, yeah, I was, but I’m worried now because of what I’m seeing.”

Perry also spoke about paying for supermarket gift cards for Atlanta Police to hand out at a Kroger grocery store on the heels of Rayshard Brooks’ death. When posed a question about the political backlash generated from protesters calling for the defunding of police, Perry stressed his view that police were a necessity.

Remarks as follows:

Well, when I first heard it, I was troubled by it, and I thought OK, this is — this is going to be weaponized by — in this political year. I completely thought that that was happening. That’s exactly what’s happened. It’s been weaponized. But I did some research. And what I would challenge people to do is do research and find out what it means. Now, you’ve got to understand this — I’m not for taking money from the police department. I think we need more police. My studio is in a neighborhood where I think we need police.”

But we don’t need police that have — that are under-trained. And you’ve got to understand — I have really close friends who are police officers that I love dearly, who are really good people, who have been very, very hurt by this, as well. And here’s what I want you to understand, Anderson, wrong — where there is wrong, I’m going to stand up against it. When Rayshard Brooks was murdered, I thought that was wrong. When George — George Floyd was murdered, I thought that was wrong, like so many other people. But when a police officer who was white in a suburb in Atlanta was shot in the head by a shoplifter, I thought that was wrong, too, and I reached out to do what I can to help his family.

When Secoriea was — an eight-year-old was shot near the Wendy’s in her mother’s backseat, I thought that was wrong, too. So, anywhere there is wrong, I’m going to stand up against it. I just don’t believe that, and I believe in most — I don’t believe that there are lots of people — let me just change that to understand that there are a lot of people in America who feel the way that I do, right? I think we need the police. I know that I need the police. I have several that work for me here at the studio. We need them, but we need them reformed. We need them trained well. We need the right structure, right? But some of the things inside of defund the police, I really understand like having officers who are clinically trained to deal with certain situations. I think all of those things are helpful. But taking money from the police department to make the police department smaller, that troubles me.

Trader Joe’s wises up, reverses course, tells the leftist political-correctness mob ‘no’

Have we reached Peak Corporate Cave-In?

It kind of looks like it – Trader Joe’s has decided to reverse course and not change all the brand labels of its products to satisfy the wokeness demands of a tiny, largely white, racism-parsing left-wing mob. Here’s their statement:

To Our Valued Customers:

In light of recent feedback and attention we’ve received about our product naming, we have some things we’d like to say to clarify our approach.

A few weeks ago, an online petition was launched calling on us to “remove racist packaging from [our] products.” Following were inaccurate reports that the petition prompted us to take action. We want to be clear: we disagree that any of these labels are racist. We do not make decisions based on petitions.

We make decisions based on what customers purchase, as well as the feedback we receive from our customers and Crew Members. If we feel there is need for change, we do not hesitate to take action.

Decades ago, our Buying Team started using product names, like Trader Giotto’s, Trader José’s, Trader Ming’s, etc. We thought then—and still do—that this naming of products could be fun and show appreciation for other cultures. For example, we named our Mexican beer “Trader José Premium” and a couple guacamole products are called “Avocado’s Number” in a kitschy reference to a mathematical theory.  These products have been really popular with our customers, including some budding mathematicians.

We constantly reevaluate what we are doing to ensure it makes sense for our business and aligns with customers’ expectations. A couple years ago we asked our Buying Team to review all our products to see if we needed to update any older packages, and also see if the associated brands developed years ago needed to be refreshed. We found that some of the older names or products just weren’t connecting or selling very well; so, they were discontinued. It’s kind of what we do.

Recently we have heard from many customers reaffirming that these name variations are largely viewed in exactly the way they were intended—as an attempt to have fun with our product marketing. We continue our ongoing evaluation, and those products that resonate with our customers and sell well will remain on our shelves.

Trader Joe’s has been a unique, fun and neighborly place to shop for over 50 years. We look forward to taking care of our wonderful customers for many future decades.

That’s a big change from all the cancel culture that’s taking every minority face off food-label packaging, from Mrs. Butterworth, to the Cream of Wheat man, to Aunt Jemima, to Eskimo Pies, to the Land O’Lakes Indian maiden and more, leaving just the faces of whites on the packages. Trader Jose, Trader Ming, Arabian Joe, Maitre Pierre, Trader Giotto, Trader Joe San and the rest, though, look like they might just stay, just as their customers like.

Reading through the lines of the corporate statement tells us a lot of just why, and almost all of it is commendable:

1. They refute flat out that their products are racist:

We want to be clear: we disagree that any of these labels are racist.

Glad they got that out of the way, nice to see a full frontal from what had been a bunch of corporate jellyfish.

2. They note that they are hearing from people:

We make decisions based on what customers purchase, as well as the feedback we receive from our customers and Crew Members.

…and…

Recently we have heard from many customers reaffirming that these name variations are largely viewed in exactly the way they were intended—as an attempt to have fun with our product marketing.

…and it’s scaring them straight. They must have been flooded with angry customers disgusted at seeing their beloved company cave in to political correctness. What next, replacing all the spicy food with bland pabulum, to keep all the cultural appropriation out and satisfy the far-left mob? Make the high-chair spoon throwers happy? Obviously, the customers rebelled.

3. They remember that they are a business:

We make decisions based on what customers purchase,

…and…

those products that resonate with our customers and sell well will remain on our shelves.

Nice to see a company remember what it is — no Silicon Valley/Portland/Seattle-style claptrap about ‘changing the world’ from them. If something’s profitable, they keep their customers happy. And what’s more, customers agree. Here are some very recent comments that went onto the Change.org petition to force the company to take its cutesy ethnic names off its products:

One little white lie mars Trader Joe’s excellent pullback from its earlier stance - its claim that the petition to take the names off the shelves had no effect on it. Here’s an excerpt of what they were saying via the Change.org petition to shut their brands down:

“While this approach to product naming may have been rooted in a lighthearted attempt at inclusiveness, we recognize that it may now have the opposite effect— one that is contrary to the welcoming, rewarding customer experience we strive to create every day.”

“…we made the decision several years ago to use only the Trader Joe’s name on our products moving forward. Since then, we have been in the process of updating older labels and replacing any variations with the name Trader Joe’s, and we will continue do so until we complete this important work.”

Yes, it did have an effect, and now the lefties are gathering more signatures to complain further. See how Change.org arranged the two statements and framed the issue on its site. They thought they had a cave-in from Big Corporate, and now are upset that they don’t.

But the rest of us see something good happening.

Trader Joe’s must have taken a look at who was behind the petition and decided it was total bee ess. Who’s behind it? A rich little wokester white high school teenager no doubt eager to please her teachers and college admissions committees named Briones Bedell. Rest assured she knows nothing about racism, she’s just another Karen looking to ‘atone.’

Second, she drew very few signatures to her petition, a miserable 4,900 at last count, falling short of her 5,000 goal. This, despite fawning media profiles linked on her Twitter feed and copious glowing press. Seriously, she got less than 5,000 signatures and a lot of people trolling her. That doesn’t sound like the person who’s earned a right to push around big corporations, except that she knows they’ll let her. Maybe not now.

The remark by the Trader Joe’s employee above tells the real story – that Trader Joe’s introduces Americans to a wonderful variety of unique food they might not ever taste were there no Trader Joe’s. It’s cultural sharing in the best sense of the word and it delights millions and millions. Who would have tasted Alsace Tarte Tatin or Dukkah spice (please, please Trader Joe’s BRING IT BACK), or Mandarin orange chicken, the top-selling item in the store, or Salvadoran coffee, or Indian Palak Paneer, or Thai eggplant, or Peruvian chimichurri rice without it? So many tasty things to be found there, and tons of things that adapt to special diets, love the sugar-free sliced turkey they stock, try to find it elsewhere. The Middle Eastern ghee, by the way, should be labeled ‘ghee’ and not ‘clarified butter’ and come in a bigger jar, what’s with the white-bread sanitizing there? Bottom line, though, is that Trader Joe’s introduces American palates to new kinds of foods and that’s a heckuva lot better than mushed blandness, the same no matter where you go, all designed for high-chair wokester tastes.

What this sniveling ignorant little white teenager doesn’t get is there’s a difference between appropriation and appreciation, as a far smarter and more brilliant black teenager has explained exquisitely here:

Q: You were misappropriating the Irish dancing culture?

A: I mean, my understanding of the term is that it means, when you’re taking something from another culture, claiming it as your own without recognizing where it comes from, and that couldn’t be further from what I’m doing.

It’s important for people to recognize that there’s a difference between appropriation and appreciation.

(The lovely video clip is edifying and well worth the time to watch). Here’s more backstory to that.

And as long as we are deep in teenager world, teen affairs being more important than, say Chinese espionage, let’s return to a previous story about appropriation and appreciation – remember this?

or this, via Fox News:

When Keziah Daum sported a traditional, Chinese cheongsam dress to her senior prom in Utah last month, she likely never intended her photos to go viral or be slammed as a “closet racist” over accusations of cultural appropriation. But days later, the 18-year-old began winning praise from an unexpected source — Chinese audiences and social media users.

“Very elegant and beautiful! Really don’t understand the people who are against her, they are wrong!” a supporter chimed in of the cheongsam, otherwise known as a qiapo. “I suggest the Chinese government, state television or fashion company invite her to China to display her cheongsam!”

“It is not cultural theft. It is cultural appreciation and cultural respect,” another agreed.

and this nonsense from someone who nakedly appropriates British culture, combined with sensible smackdowns from China, from Glamour:

“I suppose I was frustrated by it mainly because it looks out of context,” says Melissa Legarda, 25, a Filipino British journalist who initially shared the story with the group. “I always have such a skepticism when I see a [non-POC] wearing a dress of another country or tradition that’s not [their own] because most of the time, they don’t appreciate the traditions involved in that culture.” Legarda’s sentiment mirrors the reaction shared by many Asians in the West who have taken to Twitter to voice their dissent. One particular tweet, accusing Daum of cultural appropriation, has been retweeted over 41,000 times at publish time.

On Facebook, where I still keep in touch with my friends from Hong Kong, my feed tells a completely different story. Karen Chiang, one of my Hong Kong–based friends, shared a BuzzFeed article covering the controversy, writing, “This girl rocked it. Full stop.” Other commenters agreed, echoing the effusive feedback thousands of Chinese netizens have shared on Weibo, China’s answer to Twitter. The message was clear: To the Chinese, Daum totally rocked the dress—no offense taken.

“I didn’t think there was a more appropriate or respectful way for a foreigner to pay homage to qipaos and the Chinese culture, especially compared to occasions where Chinese culture is reduced to a fans, dragons, and chopstick-in-a-top-bun kind of moment,” Chiang writes in an email. The 25-year-old wellness blogger and freelance writer grew up in Hong Kong, and has seen many white expats in Hong Kong partake in the aforementioned type of dress—but didn’t see any hints of malice or racism.

“I probably raised an eyebrow [at these people], because they look quite silly most of the time. But as long as people are trying their best to respect and appreciate a culture, I’m cool with it. It’s still better than if they didn’t bother to open their minds at all.”

It seems the good guys are winning now. Enjoying another culture is not racism, it’s white Karenism, done by wokester teens with absolutely nothing intelligent to say. Glad Trader Joe’s woke up and smelled the coffee.

WAYNE ROOT: BIDEN = “BIGGEST IDIOT DEMOCRATS EVER NOMINATED”

By Wayne Allyn Root

President Trump loves branding his opponents. Boy, do I have the brand for Joe Biden. Other than “Basement Biden.” Or Biden is the leader of the “Dementia-crats.” Those two are effective and memorable too.

But nothing beats this little ditty: BIDEN stands for “BIGGEST IDIOT DEMOCRATS EVER NOMINATED.”

Forget Biden’s nonstop stumbling and bumbling. Forget that he appears to not know where he is (he talked about New Hampshire, but was in Vermont)…what day it is (remember “Super Thursday”)…what year it is (remember in the presidential debate when old Joe said “Joe203030”)…or who he is (remember Joe opening a speech with “Hello, I’m Jill Biden”). Forget all that.

Forget his lifetime record of 40 years as part of the DC Swamp establishment, accomplishing nothing for the American people.

Forget about the massive corruption in China and Ukraine, with his son Hunter as the bagman.

Forget about presiding over the worst economic recovery in America’s history.

Forget about supporting AOC’s $10 trillion Green New Deal that will bankrupt the US economy and kill millions of jobs forever.

Forget about old Joe’s radical new beliefs in open borders and “defund the police.” Oh, and Biden also said recently, “the police are the enemy.” Process that for a minute.

Forget about his racist past, compliments for a former KKK leader, and use of the “n word” on the Senate floor. Or telling black Americans that if they vote for Trump, they aren’t black.

Forget about his clear dementia issues. Or the fact he can’t answer a single question by a reporter that isn’t pre-scripted, with the answer written on teleprompter.

Forget about the lack of intensity or enthusiasm by potential Biden voters. Poor old Joe was on a nationwide video livestream conference the other day with 19 people tuned in.

And during that video livestream conference he grew confused multiple times, could not remember the word “aneurysm” and promised “voter registration physicians” at the polls.

Poor old Joe Biden has problems. Cognitive problems. Brain problems. Speaking problems. Leaving his basement problems.

But forget all of that.

Joe just said two things so stupid, moronic, mindless, revolting, and offensive to most Americans, we should just freeze the election right here. Let’s roll the dice. Let’s base the whole election on Biden’s latest statements about Islam.

President Trump should feature Biden’s own words in every TV commercial from this point on. I’ll bet my life savings it’s game, set and match. Checkmate. Biden is finished- if you keep playing these two statements.

With all the problems plaguing America, from Covid-19; the economic meltdown; riots in the streets; mob takeovers of Portland and Seattle; and a potential war with China; with all of that, Biden thinks the big problem is we need to teach more about Islam in the schools. That’s a quote.

Mr. President, relentlessly repeat Joe’s words every day from now through the election. Trust me, the American people will be as disgusted, offended, shocked and appalled as me. Last I checked, we no longer allow Christianity to be taught in schools. Liberal lawyers make sure we take down Christmas displays from public properties. Yet teaching more Islam in schools is okay?

Repeat this 24/7, every day, in every speech, in every TV ad. It’s the end of Biden.

Personally, I have nothing against Islam. It’s a perfectly good religion…as long as we forget the suicide bombers…use of human shields…gays being thrown off buildings…women being stoned to death…little girls disfigured by acid for wanting an education…women sent to prison for being gang raped…honor killings…soldiers set on fire in cages…genital mutilation…and don’t forget artists being murdered for drawing a cartoon of Mohammed. Other than that, it’s a swell religion.

Never forget, Basement Joe wants to convert all our kids to Islam! Hip, hip, hooray.

But wait, there’s more. Joe just promised on day one of his presidency to end Trump’s “Muslim Travel Ban.” It’s THAT important to deal with it on day one. Basement Joe is horrified that we don’t have more immigrants from the terrorist havens of Somalia, Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan, Libya, North Korea and Venezuela.

Isn’t this just what America needs during a pandemic and economic collapse? Teaching Islam to your kids. And welcoming in Iranians, Somalians and Yemen-ese. I can’t wait. How about you?

That’s why Biden stands for “BIGGEST IDIOT DEMOCRATS EVER NOMINATED.”

America’s Major Cities Are Being Turned Into War Zones, And It’s Not Going To End In November

America’s Major Cities Are Being Turned Into War Zones, And It’s Not Going To End In November

Tyler Durden

Mon, 07/27/2020 – 11:53

Authored by Michael Snyder via TheMostImportantNews.com,

The civil unrest that we witnessed all across America this weekend was extremely alarming.  For a few weeks, it seemed like the chaos that erupted in the immediate aftermath of the tragic death of George Floyd was subsiding, but in recent days there has been a dramatic resurgence.  Within the last 48 hours, there have been eruptions of violence in major cities such as Seattle, Portland, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Oakland, Louisville, Austin and Richmond.  At this point we have seen sustained protests and rioting for nearly two months straight, and it looks like the chaos isn’t going to disappear any time soon.

Over the past few weeks, a few people have written me emails suggesting that the civil unrest will disappear if Joe Biden wins the election in November.

But I don’t believe that this is true.  Virtually all of the rioting is happening in cities that are controlled by Democrats, and the leftist politicians that run those cities do not have any control over the Marxist protesters at all.

For example, just look at what has been happening in Seattle and Portland.  The politicians that run those cities are radical Democrats, and yet those radical Democrats have been completely and utterly unable to end the violence.  The following comes from the Daily Mail

The streets of Seattle turned violent Saturday when protesters set fire to a youth detention center and a police precinct. Other protesters threw rocks, bottles, fireworks and other explosives at cops, with the unrest leading local authorities to declare protests had turned into ‘riots that afternoon’.

Portland geared up for its 59th night of unrest Saturday with swathes of demonstrators marching from the federal building to the Portland Marriott where they believe federal officers are staying, in the wake of a violent night Friday that ended with at least one person stabbed.

To me, it is absolutely amazing that Portland has had 59 days of protests in a row.

One man that actually lives in downtown Portland says that his neighborhood has essentially been turned into “a war zone”

Gabriel Johnson has lived in the Essex House Apartments in downtown Portland for seven years. He has loved it — until now.

“I compare it to a war zone and some people will take that and say he must be exaggerating but no,” said Johnson.

Johnson said he is kept awake by the nightly demonstrations taking place just two blocks from his home. The sounds of fireworks and flash bangs, he said, are overwhelming. The tear gas is bad, too.

And Johnson certainly knows what a “war zone” is like, because he is actually a military veteran.

Elsewhere, two very heavily armed militia groups nearly came face to face in Louisville, Kentucky this weekend…

More than 300 members of the Atlanta-based Black militia NFAC, or “Not ******* Around Coalition” came to Louisville demanding justice for 26-year-old Breonna Taylor, an ER technician who was fatally shot by officers in March.

The group came close to 50 far-right “Three Percenter” militia members, who were also heavily armed. Police kept the sides apart and tensions eventually dissipated.

If just one person had gotten an itchy trigger finger, that situation could have gotten out of control very rapidly.

But there was one unfortunate incident when a member of the NFAC accidentally had a gun discharge

Police confirmed three members of the NFAC were struck by gunfire when someone’s gun discharged while participating in a demonstration Saturday.  All three victims went to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, things got really crazy down in Atlanta.

Rioters attacked the local ICE and DHS field office, and they came close to setting it on fire

Atlanta also endured a night of unrest across Saturday evening into the early hours of Sunday as protesters took aim at the city’s ICE and DHS field office, smashing windows and attempting to set fire to the building.

Reports suggest that nobody was inside the building at the time, however extensive damage was caused to the front of the facility.

Agents were seen patrolling the grounds early Sunday, as FBI officers snapped pictures of the shattered windows and what appeared to be scorch marks left from fireworks on the office’s walls.

It is important to understand that these rioters are very serious about their goals, and they aren’t going to be happy with just a few half-hearted “reforms”.

For many of them, nothing short of the overthrow of the entire system will suffice.

And as we draw closer to the November election, anything and anyone associated with President Trump will be a potential target.  Trump supporter Bernie Trammell  probably never imagined that his support of Trump would get him gunned down in front of his own business, but that is precisely what just happened

Bernell Trammell, a Black Donald Trump supporter, was reportedly shot and killed in Milwaukee on Thursday (July 23).

According to Fox 6, the 60-year-old was gunned down during a drive-by shooting in the neighborhood where he was known for displaying signs reading “Vote Trump 2020” and recited Bible verses.

Trammell was discovered dead in front of his business. A makeshift memorial containing flowers and candles has been set up on the sidewalk where Trammell died.

One could probably imagine something like this happening in Seattle, Portland or Los Angeles.

But Milwaukee?

It is so sad to watch our major cities being torn apart, but a lot of Democrats out there seem to think that all of this chaos is just temporary and that it will come to an end once Trump is removed from office.

Unfortunately, the truth is that these protests were never primarily about Trump.  Yes, the protesters hate Trump, but they aren’t exactly fans of Joe Biden and other moderate Democrats either.  As Susan Duclos has pointed out, if Joe Biden and the Democratic Party actually believe that they will be able to control these protesters if they win in November they are being extremely delusional…

This is a political calculation on the part of the liberal media and democrat politicians. Support the violent protesters, cause as much chaos and mayhem as possible before the 2020 presidential election, hoping that Trump will be blamed and their candidate, Joe Biden, will win.

The problem, for them, is even if it works there is no way they control the monster they created and if they think they can, they are more delusional than originally thought.

I have been warning that this civil unrest was coming for a very long time, and it is eventually going to get much, much worse no matter who wins in November.

If you currently live in the heart of one of our major cities, please do not be fooled into thinking that these protests are just temporary and that things will eventually go back to normal.

These protesters have a fervor that is almost on a religious level, and they are entirely convinced of the righteousness of their cause.  They are never going to give up, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals.

Over 30 Shot, 10 Killed, as Violence Surges in de Blasio’s NYC

Over 30 people were shot, with ten killed, over the weekend as violence continues to surge in Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (D) New York City.

One of the fatal shooting victims was a 16-year-old boy who sustained a bullet wound to the head “in the Cypress Hills section of Brooklyn” on Sunday, Fox 5 reported.

The 16-year-old was one of seven people who were shot and killed on Sunday alone.

De Blasio reacted to the 16-year-old’s death saying, “This is heartbreaking. His life was just beginning. Sending my thoughts and prayers to the families of these boys. No parent should ever have to bury a child,” NBC 4 New York reported.

A “Stop the Violence” march occurred in Brooklyn the day before the seven fatalies occurred.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea spoke with NY1 on Monday morning and acknowledged that all the anti-violence efforts have fallen short of actually curtailing it at this point.

“When we have a day with 15 shootings in New York City, that’s not a success. There’s no other way to put that. There are still some challenges throughout New York City with repeat gun offenders, with the gang situation, with large groups on the street and how to tackle them in terms of alcohol and things of that nature,” he said.

Breitbart News reported that a one-year-old was shot to death while sitting in a stroller in de Blasio’s NYC earlier this month.

In June, Breitbart News reported a video of a father fatally shot while walking his six-year-old daughter across the street in the city.

WARNING: GRAPHIC VIOLENCE

On July 14, 2020, Breitbart News reported that de Blasio blamed NYC’s surging violence on guns.
