Why Dennis Quaid’s ‘Reagan’ Biopic Can’t Arrive Soon Enough

Hollywood can multitask as well as any industry.
Stars, producers and screenwriters spent the last four years castigating anyone, and anything, associated with President Donald Trump. That didn’t stop them from proselytizing about open border policies, gun control and other progressive issues.
Showtime is no different.
The network that just released a profoundly dishonest two-part miniseries attacking President Trump is back to savage another GOP figure.
President Ronald Reagan.
The just-released docuseries The Reagans does little to hide its rage against the nation’s 40th president. Early reviews highlight the film’s critical take on his presidency and cultural impact.

The Reagans director Matt Tyrnauer previously lensed the anti-Trump documentary Where’s My Roy Cohn? Even the Showtime press materials share the project’s critical take on Reagan.
By shining a light on the truths behind the Reagan myth and critically analyzing Ronald Reagan’s quest for power, his mode of governing, the ripple effects of his economic policies and the unprecedented role Nancy Reagan played in the White House, the series redefines the Reagans a generation after they stood at the center of the national and global stage. Covering Reagan’s rise from movie star to politician and tackling his questionable record on race, the administration’s near collapse amid the Iran-Contra scandal, and inaction in the face of the HIV pandemic, THE REAGANS offers an epochal look at a recent past that has much to do with our turbulent present.
It’s hardly Hollywood’s only attempt to dismantle Reagan’s legacy.
Showtime first slammed the Reagans way back in 2003. The Reagans miniseries started out as a CBS project until Reagan defenders called out its baldly partisan attacks:
In the production Reagan appears heartless toward AIDS suffers and calls himself “the Antichrist.” His wife Nancy is portrayed as a domineering witch who controls the complacent president.
CBS brass admitted to the problem … and then shuttled the miniseries off to corporate partner, Showtime. Per an CBS statement, the project “does not present a balanced portrayal of the Reagans for CBS and its audience. Subsequent edits that we considered did not address those concerns.”
The creative industry struck again with 2013’s  Lee Daniels’ The Butler, a look at Eugene Allen’s 30-plus years of service in the White House. President Reagan, portrayed by Alan Rickman, is shown as indifferent to the plight of blacks both in America and South Africa, among other character attacks. The film also hired Jane Fonda, a woman most conservatives loathe for her ghastly Vietnam War activism, to play Nancy Reagan.

Reagan biographers quickly rose up to refute the material.
More recently, the FX series Fargo inserted President Reagan into the narrative  Cult fave Bruce Campbell took a turn playing the man affectionately known as The Gipper, but this time the portrayal was smaller, more difficult to tease out for greater meaning.
The 2017 documentary The Reagan Show removed political commentary and simply showed news footage of Reagan during his two terms in office.
Fair-minded conservative critic Kyle Smith called the project an example of “Reagan Derangement Syndrome” all the same.
It’s almost as if the directors of The Reagan Show are, like the characters in The Americans, still mired in the mid 1980s, unaware how all of this turned out. Reagan not only didn’t start a nuclear war, he achieved victory against the Soviets without firing a shot, and his SDI idea turned out not to be a pipe dream.
Perhaps the most ghastly anti-Reagan project never got off the ground due to instant, and sizable, backlash. Far-left director Adam McKay and Will Ferrell planned a wacky political comedy about a dementia-addled Reagan’s final days in the Oval Office.
The duo quickly retreated from the project once word leaked about its nature, even while McKay pretended the theme wasn’t as cruel as critics suggested. The actual script screamed otherwise.
It’s why another Reagan project is so very necessary, at the very least to add balance to the pop culture record.

Dennis Quaid will play the actor turned Commander in Chief in Reagan, a film biopic currently in production. Quaid joined the long-gestating movie two years ago. Recent cast additions include Mena Suvari and Kevin Dillon. They join previously announced co-stars like Jon Voight and Robert Davi.
Penelope Ann Miller is set to play Nancy Reagan.

Soul Surfer director Sean McNamara is behind the camera for “Reagan,” influenced by The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism by author Paul Kengor. Reagan producer Mark Joseph previously gave us last year’s stunning docudrama No Safe Spaces, a film that accurately predicted the current attacks on free speech.
President Reagan wasn’t perfect. No political leader is, and fair criticism is always welcome. That’s not what we’ve seen from Hollywood over the years for one of their own.
Reagan should help balance the ledger on a historic leader and his legacy.

BREAKING Video: Young Internet Sleuth Reveals Evidence Showing Over 23K PA Ballots Were Filled Out and Returned Before They Were Ever Mailed To Voters (and MORE)

On November 11, Petr Svab of the Epoch Times wrote about the improbability of more than 10,000 ballots being returned in the state of Pennsylvania on a date that precedes the date they were sent. The article, as one would expect, was completely ignored by the Democratic Party mainstream media.

From 100 Percent Fed Up – Here’s something else that didn’t receive any traction in the media, the investigative work of a young citizen journalist, known as “Greg On The Right,” may have provided the single biggest piece of evidence to date that Pennsylvania’s elections were anything but free and fair.

In a 3-part video series, the young man, known as “Greg on The Right,” first posted his explosive video from the PA.gov website on Tik Tok, where curiously, it was removed. Greg promptly posted his video to Twitter, where he has a little over 5.6K followers.

Here’s a screenshot of the PA.gov website:

In his first of a 3-part series of videos, Greg explains that he could only review about one-third of the data set related to the mail-in ballots on the PA.gov website.

From “Greg On The Right:”

The following information’s straight from the PA.gov website and has almost 3.1 million entries. I exported all that information into an Excel sheet, but I was cut off at about 1 million rows, so keep in mind, we’re working with one-third of the whole data set.

So, the first thing I did was to create a column to see if any ballots were mailed out by the government the same day that they were received, filled out, through the mail, by the voter.

It turns out, about 11,000 were filled out by the voter and returned back to the government the same day the government mailed them out to the voter.

I then created a column to see if there and there were any applications that were approved by the government, mailed out by the government, received by the voter, and then filled out by the voter and mailed back to the government on the same day. And there were 8,205 cases of that.

And lastly, I created a column to see if there were any ballots that were received through the mail, filled out before they were even mailed out and received by the government. There were 7,403 cases of that.

If anyone’s able to make sense of these numbers without saying it’s fraud, please let me know in the comments.

Watch Greg’s incredible Pennysylvania Mail-In Ballot Video Part 1.

Pennysylvania Mail-In Ballot Video Part 2 (video can be seen below images).

Greg explains: “This data comes straight from Pennsylvania.gov,” Greg explains.

On this page, we have the total amount of ballots that the Pennsylvania government sent out through the mail.

Here on the left, we have the year the voter was born, the county name that they reside in, their registered party, the congressional district, and the application type.

This page shows the amount of ballots that were mailed out by the Pennsylvania government but were never returned.

This page shows the amount of ballots that were mailed out by the government and received and filled out by the voter on the same day.

This page shows the amount of mail-in ballots that were approved, mailed out and received, and filled by the voter on the same day.

This page shows the amount that were returned and filled out by the voter before they were even mailed out!

And lastly, this page shows the amount of mail-in ballots that were returned by the voter, but never mailed out to the voter!

Pennysylvania Mail-In Ballot Video Part 3.

In this video, Greg gives viewers an up-close and easy to understand example of how in what can only be described as “impossible,” a ballot was mailed out by a voter two days before the PA government ever mailed the ballot out.

On the same day that Greg posted his videos to Twitter, he received a message from the Knox Tea Party informing him that the dataset from the November 2020 election has been removed from the PA government website. According to Greg, who spoke to 100 Percent Fed Up today, the data appears to have been moved, and the state of PA requires anyone who wants to see the data, to pay $20 for the privilege. We cannot confirm if the data on the PA.gov website has been amended since Greg first videotaped his findings or if the dataset he’s provided remains the same.

An article written by Petr Svab of the Epoch Times seems to back up many of the young data sleuth’s allegations, who goes by “Greg On The Right.”

From the Epoch Times– More than 20,000 absentee ballots in Pennsylvania have impossible return dates and another more than 80,000 have return dates that raise questions, according to a researcher’s analysis of the state’s voter database.

Over 51,000 ballots were marked as returned just a day after they were sent out—an extraordinary speed, given U.S. Postal Service (USPS) delivery times, while nearly 35,000 were returned on the same day they were mailed out. Another more than 23,000 have a return date earlier than the sent date. More than 9,000 have no sent date.

The state’s voter records are being scrutinized as President Donald Trump is challenging the results of the presidential election in Pennsylvania and other states where his opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden, holds a tight lead. The Trump campaign is alleging that invalid ballots have been counted for Democrats and valid ballots for Republicans were thrown away.

New York Times Job Listing Shows How Western Propaganda Operates

New York Times Job Listing Shows How Western Propaganda Operates

Tyler Durden

Sat, 11/21/2020 – 14:30

Authored by Caitlin Johnstone,

People who are only just beginning to research what’s wrong with the world often hold an assumption that mainstream news reporters are just knowingly propagandizing people all the time. That they sit around scheming up ways to deceive their audiences into supporting war, oligarchy and oppression for the benefit of their plutocratic masters.

Once you’ve learned a bit more you realize it’s not quite happening that way. Most mainstream news reporters are not really witting propagandists–those are to be found more in plutocrat-funded think tanks and other narrative management firms, and in the opaque government agencies which feed news media outlets information designed to advance their interests.

The predominant reason mainstream news reporters say things that aren’t true is because in order to be hired by mainstream news outlets, you need to jack your mind into a power-serving worldview that is not based in truth.

A recent job listing for a New York Times Russia Correspondent which was flagged by Russia-based journalist Bryan MacDonald illustrates this dynamic perfectly. The listing reads as follows:

Vladimir Putin’s Russia remains one of the biggest stories in the world.

It sends out hit squads armed with nerve agents against its enemies, most recently the opposition leader Aleksei Navalny. It has its cyber agents sow chaos and disharmony in the West to tarnish its democratic systems, while promoting its faux version of democracy. It has deployed private military contractors around the globe to secretly spread its influence. At home, its hospitals are filling up fast with Covid patients as its president hides out in his villa.

If that sounds like a place you want to cover, then we have good news: We will have an opening for a new correspondent as Andy Higgins takes over as our next Eastern Europe Bureau Chief early next year.

Does this sound like the sort of job someone with a less than hostile attitude toward the Russian government would apply to?  Is it a job listing that indicates it might welcome someone who sees mainstream Russia hysteria as cartoonish hyperbole designed to advance the longstanding geostrategic interests of western power structures against a government which has long resisted bowing to the dictates of those power structures? Someone who voices skepticism about the plotholeriddled establishment narratives of Russian election meddling and Novichokassassinations? Someone who, as Moon of Alabama notes, might point out that Putin is in fact at work in the Kremlin right now and not "hiding out" in a "villa"?

Of course not. In order to get a job at the New York Times, you need to demonstrate that you subscribe to the mainstream oligarchic imperialist worldview which forms the entirety of western mass media output. You need to demonstrate that you have been properly indoctrinated, and that you can be guided into toeing the imperial line with simple attaboys and tisk-tisks from your superiors rather than being explicitly told to knowingly lie.

Because if they did tell you to knowingly lie to the public to advance the interests of the powerful, that would be propaganda. And propaganda is what what happens in evil backwards countries like Russia.

Mainstream establishment orthodoxy is essentially a religion, as fake and power-serving as any other, and if you want to work in mainstream politics or media you need to demonstrate that you are a member of that religion.

That’s all you’re ever seeing when you notice blue-checkmarked reporters tweeting in promotion of imperialist interests and status quo politics. They are not laboring under the delusion that they are saying anything new or insightful that a hundred other people aren’t saying at the exact same time; they are signaling. They are letting current and prospective peers and employers know, "I am a believer. I am a member of the faith." This way they are ensured the continued advancement of their careers in mainstream news media.

This is why you have labels for anyone expressing skepticism of establishment narratives like "conspiracy theorist", "useful idiot", "Russian asset" or "Assadist"; the powerful people who understand that whoever controls the narrative controls the world need labels to separate the faithful from the heathens. It means the same thing as "heretic".

The fast and easy way to get rich and famous has always been to promote the interests of the powerful. This is as true in every other sector as it is in media. For this reason, those who pour their energy into criticizing existing power structures and shining a bright light on their dynamics aren’t likely to be living in fancy mansions or going to ritzy parties any time soon, while those who do the opposite actually will. And yet when someone sets up a Substack or a Patreon account to make criticizing the powerful their life’s work, it is they who will get called money-grubbing grifters by the propagandized.

The faces you see thrust onto screens by the plutocratic media are not spouting falsehoods while being aware of their deception, any more than any preacher is knowingly lying when they say you’ll burn for eternity if you don’t accept the gospel. Most of them believe everything they are saying, because they have been propagandized into becoming good acolytes and proselytizers of the faith.

The most propagandized people on earth are those who are responsible for promulgating propaganda.

If You’re A Gun Owner, Get A Lawyer Before You Need One

(Thank you for your support of the Gateway Pundit as we bring you occasional offers through promoted posts. We appreciate your consideration of this important message, as ordering through the links below benefits Gateway Pundit).

If you own a gun, you may someday find yourself using it for self-defense.

If that should happen to you, the USCCA has prepared a video on why it’s important to have a lawyer on call.

In this video, lawyer Lee McMillan shares these points:

– Self-defense incidents don’t always happen during business hours. If one happens at night, you don’t want to wait until the lawyer’s office opens the next day.

– Most lawyers won’t defend a capital case without an initial deposit of $50,000.

– To defend a capital case in court will usually cost over $100,000.

Watch the video here:

Here’s a message from Tim Schmidt, president of the USCCA, which provides legal protection for people involved in self-defense incidents:

It’s every responsible gun owners worst nightmare…

You’ve just pulled the trigger in self-defense and called the authorities, but what now?

You might think the worst is over — after all you’re the good guy, right?

Unfortunately you couldn’t be more wrong…

You see, the deck’s already stacked against you as a responsibly armed American…

As a USCCA Member, you have up to $2,250,000 in up-front legal and financial protection behind you should you ever be forced to use your gun in self-defense.

The moment you activate the education, training and protection of a USCCA membership you gain access to:

  • Up to $2.25 million in Self-Defense SHIELD protection…

  • Up-Front Funding For Criminal Defense & Bail Bonds: No out-of-pocket expenses…

‘Time To Fact-Check the Fact-Checkers’: Candace Owens Suing Facebook, Alleging Defamation

Thanks to various left-wing-biased “fact checkers,” the left has established a monopoly on “truth” when it comes to social media. Well, the left’s version of the truth, anyway. Now, conservative activist and BLEXIT founder Candace Owens said she has had enough of one-sided fact checking, and she’s fighting back. In a Nov. 5 video released…

Facebook Denies ‘Science’ – Blocks Danish Study Questioning Efficacy Of Masks

Facebook Denies ‘Science’ – Blocks Danish Study Questioning Efficacy Of Masks

Tyler Durden

Sat, 11/21/2020 – 14:55

On Wednesday, scientists in Demark published a "revolutionary" study that demonstrates mask-wearing does very little to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. By Friday, an Oxford University professor, citing the study in an article published on The Spectator, reported that he was flagged by Facebook for "false information" as he attempted to repost the article on the social media platform.

Before we begin, we want to remind readers that hours after the study’s publication in Annals of Internal Medicine, titled "Effectiveness of Adding a Mask Recommendation to Other Public Health Measures to Prevent SARS-CoV-2 Infection in Danish Mask Wearer," we asked a straightforward question of how social media companies would respond to these new developments.

Well, that answer quickly appeared as director of the Center for Evidence-Based Medicine at Oxford University Carl Heneghan tweeted Friday that his article titled "Landmark Danish study finds no significant effect for facemask wearers," citing the new study, was flagged as false information by Facebook.

Here’s Heneghan’s tweet explaining what happened:

"Here’s what happened when I posted our latest @spectator article to Facebook – I’m aware this is happening to others – what has happened to academic freedom and freedom of speech? There is nothing in this article that is ‘false.’"

In the article, published in The Spectator, he spoke about the new study:

"Yesterday marked the publication of a long-delayed trial in Denmark which hopes to answer that very question. The ‘Damask-19 trial’ was conducted in the spring with over 6,000 participants, when the public were not being told to wear masks, but other public health measures were in place. Unlike other studies looking at masks, the Danmask study was a randomised controlled trial – making it the highest quality scientific evidence."

He continued:

"Around half of those in the trial received 50 disposable surgical face masks, which they were told to change after eight hours of use. After one month, the trial participants were tested using both PCR, antibody, and lateral flow tests and compared with the trial participants who did not wear a mask.

"In the end, there was no statistically significant difference between those who wore masks and those who did not when it came to being infected by Covid-19. 1.8 per cent of those wearing masks caught Covid, compared to 2.1 per cent of the control group. As a result, it seems that any effect masks have on preventing the spread of the disease in the community is small."

RT News points out Heneghan was also "under attack" by academic scholars, such as Thomas Conti of Brazil, who said the study was poorly designed – arguing that masks work.

Besides the publication of the study and Heneghan, arguing about the ineffectiveness of masks, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (a Republican) said there’s "science on both sides" of the mask debate. However, Reynolds still went ahead with imposing a new mask mandate in her state, along with other measures, as COVID-19 cases surge across the country, with the Midwest as the hardest-hit region.

"There’s science on both sides, and you know that," Reynolds said, without providing details. "If you look, you can find whatever you want to support wherever you’re at."

Most media outlets that reported on those remarks noted that the governor’s statement contradicted the official CDC guidelines. But it’s worth remembering that at one point or another, the FDA, the CDC, the Surgeon General, etc. have all suggested that masks do little to stop the spread of COVID-19. The CDC admitted that 80% of newly infected wore their masks following all restrictions.

The CDC recently released a new study purporting to show that masks protected both the wearer and the general public. Still, as the Danish researchers noted in their summary, the scientific links there actually aren’t at all well-established. The researchers even cautioned that their findings are hardly conclusive, and shouldn’t be relied upon by policymakers.

What’s clear is that Facebook moderators are not allowing for both sides of the mask debate to be heard.

Hungarian Prime Minister: ‘Soros Is One of the Most Corrupt People in the World’

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán lambasted billionaire plutocrat George Soros as “one of the most corrupt people in the world” after he called on the European Union to make Hungary and Poland submit to “open society” values.

“George Soros is threatening Hungary and Poland,” Prime Minister Orbán told Kossuth Rádió on Friday, referencing the 90-year-old arch-activist’s public lobbying of the EU deprive the conservative-led central European countries of funding.

“George Soros is one of the most corrupt people in the world; he has plenty of politicians in his pocket who now want to blackmail Hungary and Poland for access to EU funds,” the Hungarian leader continued, accusing the billionaire spreading “absurd, beyond-the-red-line statements” about his country.

Soros had claimed, among other things, that “Orbán has constructed in Hungary an elaborate kleptocratic system to rob the country blind. The amount by which he has enriched his family and friends is difficult to estimate but many of them have become exceedingly wealthy” in a recent article — not without a certain level of irony, considering his own vast fortune and past conviction for insider trading.

Hungary and Poland are clashing with the EU establishment and its globalist allies after their recent decision to veto its proposed seven-year budget, which contained provisions that, in the view of Polish justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro, would have reduced them to “political and institutionalized enslavement“.

At surface level, the provisions in question where uncontroversial, committing EU member-states to upholding European values and the so-called “rule of law”.

The Hungarians and Poles, however, saw in them a mechanism to deprive conservative countries of their share of EU funds if they would not submit to the policy agendas of the EU’s dominant states — principally Germany and France — which have been incensed by the persistent refusal of Hungary and Poland to accept their efforts to impose compulsory migrant redistribution quotas.

The EU also objects to Poland’s efforts to reform its courts. The EU characterises the reforms as an attack on judicial independence, but the Poles insist they are merely an attempt to undo a nepotistic legacy of the former communist regime (and a domestic matter in which foreign officials should not be interfering, in any case).

“In the 1989 Roundtable Talks between Poland’s Communists and the democratic opposition, then-president General Wojciech Jaruzelski – the man who ran Poland’s martial law government for the Soviets – was allowed to nominate an entirely new bench of Communist-era judges to staff the post-communist courts. These judges dominated our judiciary for the next quarter-century. Some remain in place,” Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki explained in 2017.

Poland and Hungary do have some reason to believe the rule of law provisions would have been used as a way of forcing compliance, with European Parliament vice president Katarina Barley, of Germany, having suggested they should be “starved financially” before the vote at which they exercised their veto.

Soros, for his part, attempted to paint the Polish-Hungarian veto as selfish and irresponsible, “coming at a moment when Europe is suffering from a dangerous surge of COVID-19 cases” — although the Polish and Hungarian governments might reasonably retort that it was not their decision to tack punishment clauses for supposed values violations onto a budget which might have restricted its scope to coronavirus relief and economic measures.

“The EU can’t afford to compromise on the rule-of-law provisions. How it responds to the challenge posed by Orbán and [Polish leader  Jarosław] Kaczyński will determine whether it survives as an open society true to the values upon which it was founded, the billionaire insisted.

“If you ever wanted to know how the Soros plan works, here it is,” said Hungary’s Secretary of State for International Communication and Relations, Zoltán Kovács, in a direct response.

“[George Soros] suggested fiscal penalties against those who do not accept migrants back in 2015. Today we see financial blackmailing & political retribution operationalized by EU institutions,” he explained.

“Make no mistake, the EU’s ‘rule of law debate’ has never really been about actual ‘rule of law’. If we look back at the last five years, we can see clearly how the topic of rule of law has gained momentum every time the EU’s liberal, pro-migration forces fail to impose their will on Member States, like Hungary and Poland, that oppose migration,” he elaborated in an official blog post, providing a timeline of events.

The pandemic has changed many things, but there are some things it hasn’t changed at all. Restaurants have had to close their doors, but people still need to eat. That includes the homeless and those who can’t always swing a grocery or restaurant bill.
