Sens. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) and David Perdue (R-GA) have sent a letter to the U.S. Embassy in Jamaica seeking leniency for Skylar Mack, an American college student serving a jail sentence in the Cayman Islands for breaking that country’s coronavirus mandatory quarantine.
As Breitbart News reported, Mack flew to Grand Cayman on November 27 and was ordered to quarantine for 14 days. She was given a smart wristband and a cell phone to track her movements, according to her attorney Jonathon Hughes.
Mack reportedly signed a document agreeing not to leave isolation without permission and not to remove her wristband.
But two days later, she was seen at a jet skiing competition with her boyfriend Vanjae Ramgeet, a Cayman Islands resident. Apparently police were informed about Mack not wearing the wristband and the pair were transported to a mandatory quarantine facility.
On December 4, Mack was charged with leaving her home during the mandatory quarantine period and Ramgeet was charged with aiding and abetting her.
CBS reported Mack was sentenced to four months in prison, but her sentence was reduced to two months. The outlet also reported on the Senators letter:
“We write today in regard to the recent arrest and detainment of Skylar Mack, a U.S. citizen and resident of Georgia, in the Cayman Islands,” the senators wrote. “It is our understanding that Ms. Mack has formally requested the Prerogative of Mercy and we wish to express our support for her family’s call for leniency.”
The court initially sentenced her to community service, but then added prison time to her sentence. Channel 2 Action News spoke to family members, who said the punishment does not fit the crime.
Mack’s Cayman attorney said with the two-month sentence, in reality she will serve 60 percent of that. She’s been locked up for a week so she will likely get out right around Jan. 20, unless the U.S. pulls some strings.
“We support the right of the Cayman Islands, as a British Overseas Territory, to enact appropriate regulations to protect the safety of its residents during this trying time and to impose fair sentences against those who violate such restrictions,” Loeffler and Perdue said in a joint statement. “Ms. Mack has admitted guilt, regrets her actions, paid a substantial fine, and been incarcerated for over a week.”
“However, it is the sincere hope of her parents that she can safely and expeditiously return home to continue her studies as a pre-med student at Mercer University. Her family has also expressed serious concern about her safety, as she has received numerous threats against her life following the publicity of her case.”
Loeffler and Perdue are facing Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in a January 5 Senate runoff election in Georgia.

A pro-law enforcement group hosted a Jeep convoy Saturday afternoon to support a Delaware police officer who was shot multiple times in a shooting in Rehoboth, Delaware.
The organization, Jeepers Back the Blue, is a nonprofit that supports families of fallen officers and the broader law enforcement community, WMDT reported.
The event’s organizer, Jeff Lehnert, said Senior Corporal Tj Webb is currently recuperating from his injuries in a rehabilitation center until a doctor can authorize him to go home.
Lehnert said the Jeeps met up and then drove by the rehabilitation facility to support Webb.
“I hope he doesn’t feel like he’s alone in this, too many times you know after all the media dies down and the attention goes away they are left with themselves and thoughts and their struggles, we just want to let him know there’s people pulling for him, and hoping for him and that we are going to continue to support him as much as we can,” Lehnert said.
Jeepers Back the Blue has been around for three years, has raised more than $200,000 for families, and has assisted families in nine states.
The organization also hosted an event at the Dover International Speedway in September to honor fallen police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, WRDE reported.

Anti-America, Anti-Trump, ‘Anti-Racist’: The 5 Most Politically-Biased Courses Of 2020
Authored by Benjamin Zeisloft via Campus Reform,
Campus Reform reported on multiple courses in 2020 that pushed left-wing political bias.
Here are the five most biased courses of 2020.
More than 800 Vanderbilt students were asked on a class assignment if the U.S. Constitution was "designed to perpetuate white supremacy."
The "correct" answer to the question was “true.”
The course, entitled “US Elections,” discussed "the presidential and congressional elections, the recruitment of candidates, nomination processes, financing campaigns, media coverage, polling, predictive models, and implications of results."
Tulane University in New Orleans is offering course in spring 2021, entitled "Feminism after Trumplandia," will look at President Donald Trump’s actions while in office, including the “defunding of Planned Parenthood," the “Muslim ban," “assault on pro-choice legislation," rescinding “protections for transgender students," and Trump’s "history of sexual assault” as “unprecedented dystopia for women."
Despite the description, the professor teaching the course vows it will not be partisan.
“It is more about the movement of feminism from 1950 onward and trying to chart how it has changed under the Trump administration," she said.
An urban studies class at Queens College made students write about three alleged “thefts” that made President Donald Trump wealthy.
According to the Jacobin article upon which the project was based, Trump’s thefts included “wage theft from the workers who build and maintain his projects; tax theft from the state that enables him; and land theft from the common spaces he encloses.”
The University of Pittsburgh released materials for its first-year, mandatory anti-black racism course. The inaugural semester of “Anti-Black Racism: History, Ideology, and Resistance” was required for all freshmen, who were automatically enrolled in the course.
The first week of the course introduced students to “critical theories on race and anti-blackness in everyday life.” Multiple weeks of the course discuss Black Lives Matter and its influence as a “contemporary black liberation” movement.
“I’m glad to say I now have a Ph.D. in racism,” one student told Campus Reform.
A Brooklyn College professor threatened to remove any student from “Fundamental Concepts in LGBTQ Studies” if he or she misgenders another individual; after Campus Reform contacted the university for comment, the professor was instructed to remove the threat.
“My name is B. Call me B,” wrote the professor in the course’s syllabus. “I am nonbinary, transfeminine…I adhere to a strict policy of respect for the gender, sexual, and racial identities of my students. Intentional misgendering, as with any attempt to slur another student’s personal integrity on the basis of race, ethnicity, or religion, will result in immediate dismissal from class for that session. Continued abuses will result in disciplinary action with the appropriate administrators.”
The syllabus listed several LGBTQ-related reading assignments, including “Is the Rectum a Grave?" and “How to Bring Your Kids Up Gay.”

House narrowly approves bill to cut $2,000 stimulus checks

President Trump Sunday night signed the Covid-19 stimulus relief bill after initially refusing to sign it due to the billions of dollars going to foreign nations.
Trump said Congress this week will vote on a separate bill to “increase payments to individuals from $600 to $2,000.”
“”I will sign the Omnibus and Covid package with a strong message that makes clear to Congress that wasteful items need to be removed. I will send back to Congress a redlined version, item by item, accompanied by the formal rescission request to Congress insisting that those funds be removed from the bill,” Trump said.
