Kid Rock Donates $100,000 to Barstool Fund to Help Small Businesses Survive amid Coronavirus

Rocker Kid Rock has chipped in $100,000 for the Barstool Fund to help the small businesses that have been financially deviated and many of them struggling to survive the various coronavirus lockdowns across the country, as COVID-19 continues to grip the nation .

The Detroit rocker took to Twitter to announce his donation to the fund, saying, “THIS IS THE AMERICA I LOVE!” and adding, “Put me down for 100k. And I only post this in hopes others as blessed as me may be moved to help out. -Kid Rock.”

The Barstool Fund was created last month by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy when he became frustrated with the wanton destruction of small businesses across the nation and the lack of support they have gotten from the local, state, and federal governments.

In only a month, the sports blog chief had raised more than $16 million to help small businesses stay in business during the multiple waves of lockdowns.

Portnoy has already started distributing some of the funds. On Dec. 22, they made a donation to Mama Mia restaurant in New York City.

On January 5th, the fund reached out to help Kabooz’s Bar & Grill in the Big Apple.

Now, just over a month into the effort, the Barstool Fund is up to $18 million in donations.

Feds: Migrant Children at Border Have 95 Percent Chance of Staying in U.S.

Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) arriving at the United States-Mexico border from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador have a more than 95 percent chance of remaining in the U.S. after their arrival, newly released data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reveals.

The DHS data, released this week, shows the extent to which UACs from the three Central American countries are much more likely than not to remain in the U.S., often getting placed with an illegal alien relative already living in the country.

From 2013 to early 2020, 315,582 UACs from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador were encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border.

About 300,900, or more than 95 percent, have “no confirmed departure” from the U.S., indicating that they remain living in the U.S. while continuing to be processed, failing to voluntarily deport, or having been granted immigration relief.

Just 4.65 percent, or 14,682, of these 315,582 UACs have been removed to Guatemala, Honduras, or El Salvador. About 3-in-10 of these UACs end up receiving immigration relief to permanently stay in the U.S., the DHS data shows.

In 2019, alone, federal immigration officials encountered more than 64,000 UACs from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador at the southern border. Of those, just 2.15 percent were removed to their native country ,while nearly 98 percent have “no confirmed departure” from the U.S.

The UAC program, as Breitbart News has chronicled, has delivered large populations mostly from Central America to states like New York, New Jersey, Texas, California, Florida, Virginia, and Maryland. Since President Trump took office, more than 165,000 UACs have been released into the interior of the U.S.

Joint Session in Capitol Tomorrow

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tomorrow, the Joint Session of Congress opens starting at 1 p.m. in the U.S. Capitol to count the votes from the states’ electors that were submitted on December 14 when the Electoral College voted.

In prior sessions, vice presidents opened up certificates reflecting the electoral vote tallies that were sent by states before handing them to “tellers,” who are individuals appointed by both chambers of Congress to read out the ballots and verify. The tellers then read the ballots in alphabetical order, starting with Alabama. A challenge to a state’s electoral votes must be submitted in writing and requires a senator and a representative according to the Electoral Count Act of 1887.

School board member who uttered ‘crack the whip’ in regard to graduation rates called on to resign

A school board member in Washington state is being called upon to resign after saying "we need to crack the whip" in regard to graduation rates.

What are the details?

Clover Park School District’s Paul Wagemann used the phrase during a Dec. 14 virtual board meeting, the Suburban Times reported.

Wagemann said he was referring to the 10% to 11% of district students who fail to graduate and that he meant the district needs to do all it can to help those students get their diplomas, the paper said.

But his opponent from the last school board election — Taniesha Lyons — said the phrase "is rooted in slavery" and demanded Wagemann’s resignation, calling him an "explicit racist" in a letter to the board.

According to Grammarist, "crack the whip" means "to push someone to work harder, to demand more work from someone or that someone work faster or longer" and makes no reference to slavery. Grammarist also said the phrase "describes the literal cracking of a whip over a horse’s head to startle him into obeying."

Lyons also launched a petition in mid-December calling for Wagemann’s resignation. The petition has collected 190 signatures as of Tuesday.

"The Clover Park School Board cannot tell the community that they are working towards racial equity and require their staff to be culturally competent when a board member who can vote on policies that affect black and brown students within the district is a blatant racist," she wrote in her letter to the board. "Paul maintaining his seat on the board, contradicts the Clover Park School District’s claims that racism and bigotry are not tolerated within the Clover Park School District. Paul is a considerable liability and puts the Clover Park school district at risk."

How did district officials react?

Clover Park Education Association Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Filma Fontanilla said in a letter to the board that she was "hurt, appalled, and disgusted" by Wagemann’s remark.

Fontanilla also wrote that after board President Marty Schafer called out Wagemann for his "crack the whip" comment, Wagemann said, "I know what it means, and I meant it." Fontanilla added that Schafer responded by saying, "That is not a comment I am comfortable with."

The College Fix said it asked Wagemann and Schafer for comment on the matter and that Wagemann replied that he forwarded the outlet’s request to Schafer and the district superintendent. Schafer said no action was taken against Wagemann at a special Dec. 21 board meeting as its purpose was just "an opportunity to openly discuss and seek clarification," the College Fix added.

Gretchen Whitmer Administration Creates ‘Support Groups’ to Cope with Coronavirus ‘Stresses’

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) administration is creating “support groups” residents can join to manage “stresses” created by the coronavirus — and her reaction to it.

Unlike Florida, for example, Whitmer has opted for more of a controlling approach, mandating rules, restricting businesses, and shuttering in-person learning for many students, which in turn created stress for parents.

Now, her Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is offering counseling and support services for residents suffering from her policies.

“We are excited about the opportunity to be able to offer these group supports and doing outreach to a variety of populations to try and make available resources for people that we expect would be struggling with what’s going on,” Dr. Debra Pinals, medical director for behavioral health and forensic programs for MDHHS, said, ABC 12 reported.

Residents “will learn more about the virus itself and how it impacts people’s mental health,” according to Pinals, and “those who sign up will be able to open a dialogue and talk about what’s going on.”

MDHHS is offering support groups for Michigan families, the department said on its Facebook page.

“Many MI parents are feeling overwhelmed by extra responsibilities and stress from COVID-19,” the announcement read for a group “specifically for parents of children 18 and younger.”

Participation was capped at 30 residents.

The agency also created a counseling session for “seniors and older adults,” but the maximum number of participants allowed also is just 30.

Joblessness has risen as a result of Whitmer’s shutdown orders.

According to the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association, “Hotel unemployment remains at 38%, meaning that 4 in 10 hotel employees that worked in the industry in February do not now.”

Nearly 5,000 restaurants are at risk of closure “if restrictions don’t change.”

In September, the average of restaurant operators said staffing levels were 67 percent prepandemic levels. Forty-four percent said they did not expect those levels to return within six months.

Those opinions were before Whitmer created a three-week “pause” — a palatable moniker for new restrictions on bars, restaurants, schools, and a plethora of businesses.

Michigan is now approaching its 12 week of the “pause.” The latest extension will allegedly expire January 15.

Rate Of Adverse Reactions To COVID Vaccines Already 50x Higher Than Flu Shot

Rate Of Adverse Reactions To COVID Vaccines Already 50x Higher Than Flu Shot

With reports this morning of another otherwise-healthy patient dying suddenly after receiving her first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, many skeptics in both Europe and the US still have serious reservations about the jabs, even as big pharma and their allies in the US and British governments insist that they are 100% safe. Everyone claiming otherwise is not only wrongheaded, but acting in a deliberately malicious manner.

This is why commentary like a video posted by DoubleLine’s Jeffrey Gundlach where he questions the sky-high efficacy numbers published after the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech trials has elicited such vehement repudiation.

However, as new questions about efficacy and timing arise, independent journalist Alex Berenson, one of the most prominent skeptics of lockdowns and masks in the US, noted in a twitter thread earlier on Tuesday that the percentage of patients experiencing severe or potentially life-threatening reactions to the COVID-19 vaccines could be much higher than the data collected by the CDC are letting on.

The CDC’s VAERS reporting system was set up to track vaccine-related injury, Most patients can expect to experience some kind of adverse reaction, but for the vast majority of patients, symptoms will be relatively mild and clear up within a couple of days. But amid a rush of reports about patient deaths, Berenson points out that the number of patients seeing serious complications per the number of doses distributed is roughly 50x higher than the rate of ‘adverse’ reactions caused by the flu vaccine.

Berenson also speculated that this number might be even higher due to possible delays in updating the CDC’s data sets. This would seemingly confirm rates of adverse reactions seen during clinical trials. What’s more, clinical trials, generally speaking, tend to "UNDERSTATE" unpleasant or unwanted side effects, while they "OVERSTATE" the drug’s efficacy.

For readers who are so inclined, Berenson shared a link to the CDC data, which isn’t exactly easy to find on the agency’s website.

Meanwhile, the US, UK and Europe are all lagging behind vaccination targets, while Russian President Vladimir Putin recently suggested that Russia might jump on the "Immunity Passport" bandwagon.

Berenson recently sat for an interview with Joe Rogan on Rogan’s popular podcast, where the longtime journalist (who once worked for the NYT) discussed other misconceptions about the "science" behind COVID-19, including questioning the US death toll.
