Facebook lifts permanent ban on gun rights group, says it made an ‘enforcement error’

In a startling about-face this week, Facebook decided to reinstate a popular pro-second amendment group’s page, saying its permanent removal from the platform was the result of an "enforcement error."

The Virginia Citizens Defense League’s Facebook page was restored this Saturday after having been permanently removed by the tech giant in January, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

In a vague statement to the news outlet, a Facebook spokesperson said, "After further review, we concluded that this page was removed as an enforcement error and have since restored it." No further details were provided.

The social media company was similarly opaque in its explanation last month for the page’s initial removal. At the time, a Facebook representative confirmed to TheBlaze that the page had been removed and its administrators disabled after an investigation found some content on the page had violated the company’s Community Standards. A Facebook "group" operated by the gun group remained active on the platform.

A different representative informed the Free Beacon, "[The removal] was correctly actioned and we will not be republishing."

Only now the company has republished the page, yet again without explanation. One would think that such an aggressive back-and-forth would dictate some clarification, but apparently that’s not how Facebook sees it.

"It’s like the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing," said Philip Van Cleave, president of the active gun-rights advocacy group, after the page had been restored. "Now we’re just waiting to see how long this lasts before we’re banned again."

VCDL reportedly had used its Facebook page, which boasts 67,000 followers, to organize events and inform concerned citizenry about anti-gun legislative initiatives, such as Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s controversial 2020 gun control agenda. But now Van Cleave says that Facebook’s dizzying and secretive actions may cause the group to look to other social media platforms to engage with followers.

"This has kind of forced us to speed up some of the expansions to other platforms," he reportedly said. "So that if we continue to be a bouncing ball, we can have stability somewhere else."

As of Thursday afternoon, the page was unavailable. But Facebook confirmed to TheBlaze that it had not taken any subsequent action towards the page since restoring it.

Parler CEO Keeping All Legal Options Open Against Facebook Director: ‘She Knew D*** Well What Was Going On’

In the wake of the Jan. 6 incursion into the Capitol building, Big Tech decided to use the event as an excuse to silence conservative voices. This eventually led to the smaller social media app Parler being effectively shut down by companies like Apple, Google and Amazon. Now, Parler is back, and executives at the…

Michigan Removed 177,000 Voters from Voter Rolls in January After Certifying Biden Won Michigan by 154,000 Votes in November

Michigan now admits after ‘certifying’ the 2020 Presidential election, that more voters should be removed from their voter rolls than there were votes won by Joe Biden in the race.  Mixed with other suspected fraud, (like 141,000 ballot drops at 6am the day after the election) all the ballots in this state should be forensically audited to determine the full extent of the election fraud.

There was so much fraud in Michigan in the 2020 election it is difficult to know where to start.   There were late-night ballot dumps in Michigan like other states:

There were vans delivering ballots in the early morning after the election under the Detroit TFC Center where votes were being counted:

Exclusive: The TCF Center Election Fraud – Newly Discovered Video Shows Late Night Deliveries of Tens of Thousands of Illegal Ballots 8 Hours After Deadline

Republicans were harassed and prevented from viewing the ballot counting in the same TFC center the next day.  When finally some Republican observers forced their way into the room they found the poll workers counting Xerox copies of military ballots all for Biden:

EXCLUSIVE: Detroit Ballot Counters Were Counting “Xerox Copies” as Actual Military Votes (Video)

The Washington Free Beacon now reports:

The Michigan secretary of state removed 177,000 inactive voters from the state’s voter rolls after settling a legal challenge.

The stateremoved the names from the voter rolls in late January because the voters no longer live in the state or did not respond to the state’s inquiries about their addresses, according to a Tuesday district court announcement. The state performed the post-election audit during a legal battle with the Honest Elections Project, an election watchdog.

Michigan certified the election results in November claiming Joe Biden won by 154,000 votes.

Michigan’s 2020 election was run by crooks.  A forensic ballot count of all the ballots in Detroit, if not the entire state, should be performed.

Expert Warns Biden Has Launched ‘Four-Prong Attack Against’ Second Amendment, Advises How To Respond

A top expert on the Second Amendment warned in an interview this week that President Joe Biden has launched a “four-prong” attack against the Second Amendment and already has more plans to dismantle it. “It’s a four-prong attack against firearms ownership in the country,” Alan Gottlieb, the founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, said in […]

Jobless Claims Jump to 861,000, Much Worse Than Expected

New weekly jobless claims unexpectedly rose by 13,000 to 861,000 in the week that ended February 13, the Department of Labor said Thursday.

Economists had expected claims to fall to 768,00 from the 793,000 initially reported for the prior week. The previous week’s figure was revised up by 55,000 to 848,000.

Jobless claims can be volatile week to week so economists like to look at the four-week average. This fell to 833,250, 3,500 below the prior week’s average.

Jobless claims—which are a proxy for layoffs—remain at extremely high levels. Prior to the pandemic, the highest level of claims was 695,000 hit in October of 1982. In March of 2009, at the depths of the financial crisis recession, jobless claims peaked at 665,000.

Even when the economy is creating a lot of demand for workers, many businesses will shed employees as they adjust to market conditions. But in a high-pressure labor market, those employees quickly find jobs and many never show up on the employment rolls. What appears to be happening now is that many workers who lose their jobs cannot quickly find replacement work and are forced to apply for benefits.

Claims hit a record 6.87 million for the week of March 27, more than ten times the previous record. Through spring and early summer, each subsequent week had seen claims decline. But in late July, the labor market appeared to stall and claims hovered around one million throughout August, a level so high it was never recorded before the pandemic struck. Claims moved down again in September and had made slow, if steady, progress until the election.

Continuing claims, which get reported with a week’s lag, fell by 64,000 to 4,494,000.

There are two new programs offering unemployment benefits to people previously ineligible, such as self-employed workers or small business owners. The total number of continued weeks claimed for benefits in all programs for the week ending January 30 was 18,340,161, a decrease of 1,325,567 from the previous week.

HYPOCRISY: Veritas Vid Shows Zuckerberg Speculation on COVID Vaccines Facebook Won’t Allow

Project Veritas showed Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg worried about the “long-term side effects” of COVID-19 vaccinations. Those same comments wouldn’t be allowed on his own platform.
It’s even unclear whether Facebook will censor this story about his concerns.
Guerrilla journalism group Project Veritas shared leaked footage of Zuckerberg voicing skepticism about mRNA COVID-19 vaccinations during a July 2020 talk. Project Veritas summarized that “[Zuckerberg] was worried about the impact a COVID-19 vaccine would have on an individual’s DNA and RNA.” Zuckerberg’s precise statement expressed extreme caution about the developing treatment to solve the COVID-19 pandemic:
“But I do just want to make sure that I share some caution on this [mRNA vaccine] because we just don’t know the long-term side effects of basically modifying people’s DNA and RNA … basically the ability to produce those antibodies and whether that causes other mutations or other risks downstream.”
Project Veritas alluded to an announcement Facebook made earlier on Feb. 8 that the platform was “Expanding our efforts to remove false claims on Facebook and Instagram about COVID-19 and vaccines.” One key detail Project Veritas illuminated was that “In this new policy, Facebook specifically stated that any claims that the vaccine changes an individual’s DNA would be removed.”
Project Veritas also shared footage and a brief transcript of Zuckerberg speaking on a Nov. 30 livestream with National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director Doctor Anthony Fauci. In the public discussion with Fauci, Zuckerberg made statements that were the complete opposite of what he was caught saying in private back in July:
“Mark Zuckerberg: ‘Just to clear up one point, my understanding is that these vaccines do not modify your DNA or RNA. So that’s just an important point to clarify, if I’m getting anything wrong here of course correct me, but just to make that clear…’”

Black GOP Lawmakers Call On Museum To ‘Honor’ Justice Clarence Thomas

Freshman Republican Representative Byron Donalds of Florida is leading a group of black Republicans who are asking the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) to ‘honor’ Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and improve an exhibit that they allege “falls short” in appropriately representing his legacy. They call this upgrade “long overdue.”

As reported by Fox News on February 4, the group sent a letter to heads of the museum. It is reportedly signed by Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT), Dr. Alveda King, Heritage Foundation President Kay Coles James, and GOP commentator Paris Dennard, among others.

Donalds commends the museum, writing: “This museum is a national treasure for our nation’s fabric – this is especially true for me as a Black American and Republican…Black History transcends political correctness and partisanship…Overall, the NMAAHC honors its mission, but it is unfortunate to see pitfalls likely driven by irresponsible bias.”

This is not the first time that the museum has been called out by Republicans for its portrayal of Justice Thomas. When it opened in 2016, Fox News reports that Thomas was “only mentioned in connection with Anita Hill — a former staffer of Thomas, who accused him in 1991 during his confirmation hearing, of making sexually explicit comments and unwanted advances toward her while she worked for him at the Education Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in the 1980s.”

Thomas notably described the entire process as a “high-tech lynching,” denying the allegations.

In 2017, there was a new exhibit at the museum, which Thomas said was put in without him being told. The second exhibit displays information about Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas, the Supreme Court’s two African American justices. The Washington Post reports that it includes “a photograph of Thomas at his Supreme Court investiture on Nov. 1, 1991, a picture of him as an undergraduate at the College of the Holy Cross and a copy of Jet magazine with his image on the cover.”

According to the Post:

The [exhibit’s] text also compares the two judges: “Where Marshall advocated judicial action, Thomas encouraged judicial restraint. Thomas has cited varied influences on his worldview over time, from his grandfather’s teaching to the speeches of Malcolm X and the writings of Thomas Sowell. On the Supreme Court, he self-identifies as an independent thinker who interprets the Constitution’s original intent.”

In his letter addressing the exhibits, Representative Donalds writes that “Black history cannot and should not be political…The American people deserve an unbiased assessment of the trailblazers in the Black community — it is time to honor Justice Thomas with this long-overdue documentation of his whole life and history and not the disingenuous effort displayed today.”

Representative Owens also called on the museum to update the exhibit, telling Fox News, “As one of the only two Black men to serve on our nation’s highest and most distinguished court, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas deserves unbiased recognition from the National Museum of African American History and Culture…”

The museum’s director, Kevin Young, declined an interview with Artnet News. However, he provided a statement regarding the letter:

“While all our exhibitions are based on rigorous research, they are still open to interpretation,” it reads. “Through scholarship, publications, and education, the museum will continue to explore the rich contributions and complexity of African Americans.”

Rush Limbaugh defined conservatism for a generation. In his words, this is who conservatives are.

Conservatives are in mourning. Rush Limbaugh, the No. 1 conservative radio talk show host, whose voice reached tens of millions of Americans for more than 30 years, died at 70 Wednesday, succumbing to late-stage lung cancer.

After his passing, many prominent conservatives, in their tributes to America’s Anchorman, credited the late patriot with founding the conservative media industry. They remember him as a tireless advocate for beliefs shared by millions of Americans whose voices are to this day ignored by the mainstream, "drive-by media" Rush would so often vilify on his program.

Limbaugh’s critics have vilified him in turn, predictably and boringly recalling, in the words of NBC News for example, "his long history of sexist, homophobic and racist remarks" to commemorate his death. Such critics accuse Limbaugh of inflaming "the partisan divide that came to characterize political discourse in the United States." This is the way the mainstream media and the left would have most Americans remember Rush, if at all.

That is not who Rush Limbaugh was. That is not how he should be remembered. And he would tell you so himself.

"I’ve made mistakes and try to own up to them, but I just wish one out of a hundred of my critics had ever actually listened to an entire show of mine," Limbaugh once said.

Those that did listen to Rush know who he was. Rush Limbaugh was a conservative. To understand what that means, to genuinely understand Rush Limbaugh and who he thought he was, there’s perhaps no better place to begin than a speech he gave in 2009.

President Barrack Obama had just assumed office. Republicans and conservatives were swept out of power in the election, with the Democratic Party achieving full control of the federal government with a supermajority in the United States Senate. The conservative movement was arguably, in terms of holding federal elected office, at its weakest position since before Ronald Reagan was president.

Speaking at CPAC 2009, to a movement facing recent defeat, Rush gave what he called his "first ever address to the nation" broadcast on national TV, courtesy of Fox News. Speaking for nearly 90 minutes, encouraged on by the American Conservative Union leaders organizing the event, Limbaugh spoke directly to the American people about who conservatives are, what we believe in, and why we are eternally optimistic because our core principles are right and true.

Excerpts from that address, quoted below, should serve as the final word on who Rush Limbaugh was, what he believed in, and why millions of Americans love him and mourn him.

Now, seriously, for those of you watching on C-SPAN as well, and on Fox, I want to tell you who we all are in this room. I want to tell you who conservatives are. We conservatives have not done a good enough job of just laying out basically who we are because we make the mistake of assuming people know. What they know is largely incorrect based on the way we are portrayed in pop culture, in the Drive-By Media, by the Democrat Party.

Let me tell you who we conservatives are: We love people. When we look out over the United States of America, when we are anywhere, when we see a group of people, such as this or anywhere, we see Americans. We see human beings. We don’t see groups. We don’t see victims. We don’t see people we want to exploit. What we see — what we see is potential. We do not look out across the country and see the average American, the person that makes this country work. We do not see that person with contempt. We don’t think that person doesn’t have what it takes. We believe that person can be the best he or she wants to be if certain things are just removed from their path like onerous taxes, regulations and too much government.

We want every American to be the best he or she chooses to be. We recognize that we are all individuals. We love and revere our founding documents, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. We believe that the preamble to the Constitution contains an inarguable truth that we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life. Liberty, Freedom. And the pursuit of happiness. Those of you watching at home may wonder why this is being applauded. We conservatives think all three are under assault.

We don’t want to tell anybody how to live. That’s up to you. If you want to make the best of yourself, feel free. If you want to ruin your life, we’ll try to stop it, but it’s a waste. We look over the country as it is today, we see so much waste, human potential that’s been destroyed by 50 years of a welfare state. By a failed war on poverty.

We love the people of this country. And we want this to be the greatest country it can be, but we do understand, as people created and endowed by our creator, we’re all individuals. We resist the effort to group us. We resist the effort to make us feel that we’re all the same, that we’re no different than anybody else. We’re all different. There are no two things or people in this world who are created in a way that they end up with equal outcomes. That’s up to them. They are created equal, given the chance – –

We don’t hate anybody. We don’t — I mean, the racism in this country, if you ask me, I know many people in this audience — let me deal with this head on. You know what the cliche is, a conservative: racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe. Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen of America, if you were paying attention, I know you were, the racism in our culture was exclusively and fully on display in the Democrat primary last year.

It was not us asking whether Barack Obama was authentic. What we were asking is: Is he wrong? We concluded, yes. We still think so. But we didn’t ask if he was authentically black. We didn’t say, as some Southern Christian Leadership Conference leaders said: Barack is not authentic, he’s not got any slave blood. He’s really not down for the struggle, but his wife is. So don’t expect the race industry to go away. Southern Christian Leadership Conference — you may not know this, because it wasn’t reported in the Drive-By Media — the racism, the sexism, the bigotry that we’re all charged with, just so you across the United States of America know, and you’ll see demonstrated here as the afternoon goes on, doesn’t exist on our side. We want everybody to succeed.

You know why? We want the country to succeed, and for the country to succeed, its people — its individuals — must succeed. Everyone among us must be pursuing his ambition or her desire, whatever, with excellence. Trying to be the best they can be.

Conservatives are naturally happy. We seek happiness. We pursue it. It’s part of who we are. So what can you do? Live your life. I swear, folks, you do not know in just the everyday life that you live in your homes, your neighborhoods, the favorite word of this administration, your "communities." Remember the root word there is "commune." Be happy, live your life according to your values and principles. Know you’re going to fail, no human being is perfect, you’re going to make mistakes, but live your life — you’ll be stunned at how many people you impress. Don’t be afraid to tell children that they’re wrong. They don’t know what you do. They simply haven’t lived long enough. It’s not their fault, but they’re being fed a bunch of garbage in school and don’t be afraid to tell them that they’re wrong.

So as you leave here, as you leave here optimism, confidence, not guilt, it’s not worth it. There’s nothing to be guilty about. Don’t treat people as children. Respect their intelligence. Realize that there’s a way to persuade people. Sometimes the worst way is to get in their face and point a finger. Set up a set of circumstances where the conclusion is obvious. Let them think they came up with the idea themselves. They’ll think they’re smart that they figured it out. Who cares how you persuade them, the fact they can be persuaded is factually correct, it’s possible. But the main thing to do here is stop thinking that we are a minority. Stop thinking that it is being in the minority that liberates you. It is your beliefs. It is your core principles, it is your confidence that liberates you. It’s not being in the minority.

In fact, for those of you watching my first national address and still hanging in there, we really are not that happy about being a minority and we’re out to change it.
