Synagogue vandalism suspect arrested, previously worked on anti-hate initiatives for the city

Late Friday night, police arrested the suspect seen in a photo they had released earlier in the day. He was still wearing the same clothes as the ones seen in the video from which this image was pulled:

From the NY Daily News:

Cops committed James Polite, 26 of Bedford-Stuyvesant to the psychiatric ward at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn. He is charged with criminal mischief as a hate crime and making graffiti, cops said.

The suspect was busted in the same clothes he wore in surveillance video of his vandalism at the historic Union Temple in Prospect Heights. Polite is also suspected of setting a series of small trash fires in and around synagogues in Williamsburg, police sources said.

An employee at the historic synagogue, on Eastern Parkway, found “Hitler,” “Jews better be ready” and “Die Jew rats, we are here!” written in black marker in the hallways and stairwells of the first, third and fourth floors on Thursday night, police said.

Last year the NY Times wrote a profile of James Polite of Brooklyn who entered the foster system in kindergarten and eventually became an intern for a Democratic City Council member named Christine Quinn. As part of that internship he worked “on initiatives to combat hate crime, sexual assault and domestic violence.” The article says that as he was aging out the foster system, the NY Times Neediest Cases Fund placed him with Josh Waletzky and Jenny Levison. He also started college at Brandeis where, after some trouble with bipolar disorder, he was expected to graduate this May with “degrees in African-American studies and political science.”

A short time ago, Christine Quinn confirmed that the person arrested for the graffiti is the person who she knows:

The Daily Caller has also connected the James Polite mentioned in the NY Times piece to a Facebook page where the author makes reference to foster parents Josh Waletzky and Jenny Levinson. That page also contained some anti-US and anti-Semitic messages in the last couple of days:

His Facebook profile, reviewed by TheDCNF, shows that on Nov. 1, a day before the synagogue vandalism, he posted “A dream with eyes wide open. civil war is here. Nobody gotta die. Mexico, latin America, carribean vs. Jew n****r pigs. One person touch me this whole shit a smoking.”

At 3:46 a.m. on Nov. 1, Polite posted a cell-phone picture of a burning American flag, with the caption “Sometimes things take a lil heat to grow.” Police suspect him of setting fires at “seven shuls and yeshivas in Williamsburg” that same night, before the temple vandalism. Security footage captured that, too.

There are some strong indications of mental illness in this story, but there are also clear indications of a particular political bent running through most of Polite’s life. After nearly a week spent connecting the Pittsburgh shooter to President Trump and, more broadly, to the right in general, I wonder if we’ll see the same eagerness to connect this anti-Semitic vandal/arsonist to the left.

Millenials Bash Trump over ‘Racist’ Remark, Then Learn Who Really Said It

College students in Washington, D.C. slammed President Donald Trump for a “racist” remark, but it was really former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton who originally said it.

Clinton made her racist joke at a Q&A last Friday night in New York.

The host of the event mistakenly attributed comments from former Attorney General Eric Holder to Sen. Cory Booker.

“They all look alike,” Clinton replied.

The joke has been largely ignored by establishment media personalities who would have likely skewered Trump if he made a similar comment.

TRENDING: Russia Beats War Drums, Then Accidentally Rips Hole in Only Aircraft Carrier

However, college students accepted that the joke is racist after being led to believe Trump made the joke.

“Some are calling this a sarcastic joke, while others are calling it racist,” Daily Caller columnist Stephanie Hamill asked the students after saying Trump made the comments.

“I think it’s a racist sarcastic joke,” one student replied.

Will the left-wing media continue to ignore Hillary’s racist joke?

Another student, who seemed to be outraged over the joke, went on a long-winded rant.

“By President Trump saying that all black people look the same, that’s incredibly offensive and that’s incredibly racist, and there’s no need for that to happen. People are individuals and it’s really important to recognize lived experiences and who they are as individuals, and I definitely think that’s racist,” the student said.

For someone who seems so triggered over the joke, it’s surprising that she hasn’t heard it yet.

It’s almost as if the left-wing establishment media barely covered Clinton’s racist joke.

The student offered her theory on why she hadn’t heard the joke.

RELATED: Hillary Makes Racist Joke. The Mainstream Media Totally Ignores It.

“Hillary Clinton for a while was seen as a much more liberal candidate and was definitely put on a pedestal in comparison to Donald Trump,” she said.

That’s an interesting theory. It’s definitely possible that Clinton’s racist joke didn’t get as much attention because she’s “much more liberal.” The left-wing establishment media wouldn’t want to make their side look bad.

After all the interviewed students found out that Clinton made the joke instead of Trump, they conceded that the joke was still racist.

Even typically left-wing college students won’t try to defend Clinton’s comments.

Democratic politicians and the establishment media should condemn Clinton’s racist joke — A racist joke is racist no matter who said it.

Illegal Immigrant ICE Was Blocked from Deporting Now Charged with Brutal Murder

If there was ever a reason to support candidates and laws in the midterms that support tight immigration enforcement this story is a true reflection of that.

A woman might be alive today if the Oregon authorities had not decided to allow a known illegal immigrant go free.

In March, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s office released 45-year-old Martin Gallo-Gallardo after the prosecutor’s office dismissed assault charges against him. Fox 12 Oregon reported a grand jury could not “hold him accountable” without the cooperation of the victim, his wife.

In 1987, Oregon adopted sanctuary state laws that prohibits illegals from being detained by law enforcement if they have broken no other laws.

Fox News reported: “Officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said the federal agency placed a civil detainer hold on Gallo-Gallardo while he was in custody in Portland so it could begin deportation proceedings. The agency said the sheriff’s department didn’t honor the request because of the state’s sanctuary laws.”

TRENDING: Trump Sends Combat Engineers to Border, Along with 22 Miles of Their Favorite Defensive Tool

On October 29, Gallo-Gallardo was was arrested for questioning in the death of his wife Coral Rodriguiez-Lorenzo and it was at that time he confessed to murdering her. Clackamas County officials found her body the previous day, which had been repeatedly stabbed according to The Daily Caller.

As with most major ideological conflicts finger pointing and the blame game ensues.

Fox News reported ICE Spokeswoman Tanya J. Roman said: “It’s unfortunate that law enforcement agencies like the Multnomah County jail refuse to work with ICE to promote public safety by holding criminals accountable and providing justice and closure for their victims.” Roman’s regional office covers the four state territory of Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska.

Multnomah County Sheriff Mike Reese who supports Oregon’s sanctuary laws said his office never received a detainer request due a technology malfunction in fax transmission. His office also issued this statement

Should Oregon repeal their sanctuary state law?

“ICE is putting our community at risk with their failed enforcement strategy of not using the authority the agency already has to hold people accountable.”

Throwing it back on ICE, the sheriff’s office said the federal government had plenty of time to arrest Gallo-Gallardo if they wanted to and cited that Oregon cannot jail someone according to their law.

The statement continued to explain that they tried to indict Gallo-Gallardo but failure of the cooperation of the victim tied their hands: “but we know that many immigrant victims of domestic violence are concerned about how reporting will affect their status and status their children. This a terrible tragedy for her and her children. We remain committed to building a relationship of trust with immigrant communities so they feel comfortable sharing their story. Public safety needs to be for all.”

And if the Multnomah County Sheriff’s statement doesn’t convince you that the office is in the tank for protecting illegals, this political ad featuring the sheriff himself should show you where the priorities of the sheriff’s office are.

Reese proclaims: “Current law helps create bright lines for local law enforcement. Communities we serve know that we’re focused on protecting and serving them. We’re not worried about their immigration issues.”

It makes you wonder why politicians and local law enforcement are going out on such a limb to protect “justice for all,” especially those who enter our country illegally. At the end of the ad, a long scrolling list of dignitaries who support upholding the current status quo in Oregon rolls up the screen.

There is a measure on the ballot in Oregon to repeal the current sanctuary law.

Hopefully as Oregonians watch that ad prior to election day they will remember that: “Gallo-Gallardo drove his wife to nearby Clackamas County after an argument and stabbed her multiple times. He pleaded not guilty to the crime Tuesday,” according to Fox News.

Hopefully after Tuesday justice for all will mean cold blooded murders like this will be avoidable in Oregon’s future.

Mercedes Schlapp: ‘Real Hope and Change Is Coming Under Trump,’ Not Obama

White House Director of Strategic Communications Mercedes Schlapp declared on Breitbart News Saturday that while then-candidate Barack Obama promised hope and change, real hope and change has come under President Donald Trump.

Schlapp joined host Matt Boyle on Saturday’s SiriusXM Patriot broadcast. She remarked how strong the American economy is despite predictions of jobs losses due to the recent hurricane in Florida. She called it a historic moment for not only unemployment, but also labor participation.

She pointed also to President Trump’s renegotiation of international trade deals for the benefit of the American worker.

“What the Democrats want to see is just simply tax increases,” said Schlapp. “They want to take more money out of your pocket.”

Asked about the massive migrant caravan headed north from Central America to the U.S. southern border, Schlapp said the true fix needs to be legislative. “The reality is that there’s this loophole – it’s called catch and release,” she said, describing the court-defined practice of catching foreign nationals illegally entering the United States and then releasing them back into the U.S. interior. She pointed out that Border Patrol agents are denied the authority to detain and remove individuals from non-contiguous countries like those in Central America.

Schlapp addressed the issue of healthcare and the measures that the Trump administration has been able to take to mitigate the fallout of skyrocketing Obamacare premiums. She spoke of short-term and associated health care plans. She said the goal currently is more choices and greater accessibility, but they hope to do more. Schlapp pointed to the decrease in options under Obamacare and that Democrats are pushing for centralized healthcare that would decrease options further.

Boyle proposed that Americans need to ask if they’re better off than they were two years ago. “The answer is definitely yes,” Schlapp said.

“Remember, it was President [Barack] Obama who campaigned on hope and change. The real hope and change is coming under President Trump and those Republicans who have worked hard to basically push forward his agenda,” said Schlapp. “I really believe that we’re moving in the right direction.”

She then added, “There is still so much to do in terms of investing in our American workers, renegotiating these trade deals.” Schlapp said, in order to secure economic security and the borders, where Democrats have been silent. They need more candidates elected who support the president’s policies.

Donald Trump in Montana: ‘Barbed Wire, Used Properly, Can Be a Beautiful Sight’

President Donald Trump signaled appreciation for the military efforts to secure the border on Saturday at a campaign rally at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport in Belgrade, Mont.

“I noticed all that beautiful barbed wire going up today,” Trump said, referring to military soldiers setting up fences on the border. “Barbed wire used properly can be a beautiful sight.”

Soldiers of the United States Army have strung barbed wire along the Rio Grande river in South Texas as part of Operation Faithful Patriot.

“We have our military now at the border,” Trump said as the crowd cheered.

Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis is sending up to 5,200 troops to the border to defend it from the onslaught of migrants trying to cross into the country.

Trump warned supporters that multiple caravans of migrants were being organized in Central America to travel to the United States.

He warned that the group of caravans was “vicious” – young men were throwing rocks at the Mexican police officers as they forced their way.

“Mexico’s trying, but I think maybe they could try a little bit harder,” he said.

Trump dismissed critics who complained that he spent too much time talking about the problems at the border when the economic news was good.

“We have a problem at the border,” he said. “We have a problem with illegal immigration and the problem is that the Democrats will not allow us to change the dumbest laws in the history of the world on immigration.”

Man Who Vandalized Synagogue, Set Fires At Jewish Buildings Was Democratic Activist Who Worked For Obama

He was also a canvasser for the Obama campaign when he was 15, that’s how he met Christine Quinn.

Via Daily Caller:

The suspect in the vandalism of a New York synagogue was a Democratic activist and former City Hall intern who worked on anti-hate crime issues, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

He is a “queer” black man informally adopted by a Jewish couple, and The New York Times’ charity, the Neediest Cases, helped pay for him to go to college where his focus was African American studies, according to a 2017 New York Times profile.

A political event with two Democratic candidates at the Union Temple of Brooklyn was canceled Friday after attendees found graffiti saying “Die Jew Rats” and “Hitler,” which one of the candidates said highlighted the need to vote out “hate.” Police arrested 26-year old James Polite later that night based on surveillance footage.

A year ago, The New York Times profiled Polite, noting that he was an LGBT foster youth who “could defy the statistics” after becoming the “adopted child of the Quinn administration,” as Christine Quinn, then the speaker of the New York city council, put it. “And it wasn’t just me. It was the entire City Council staff.”

Daniel Flynn: Before Jane Fonda Called Trump Hitler, She Called Jim Jones a Hero

Jane Fonda compared Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler at the Women’s Media Awards on Thursday.

“If you’ve read anything about the rise of the Third Reich and Adolf Hitler, you will see the parallels,” Fonda maintained. “Attacking the media is the first step in the move towards fascism.”

Fonda, given her wild misjudgment of the only American to systematically murder scores of his fellow countrymen in an actual concentration camp, strikes as the wrong messenger bearing the wrong message here.

Before Jane Fonda saw Donald Trump as Adolf Hitler, she saw Jim Jones as a hero.

The November 21, 1978 newspaper cover story of the People’s Temple mass suicide under Jim Jones. (AFP/Getty Images)

“We are familiar with the work of Reverend Jones and Peoples Temple,” Fonda, along with husband Tom Hayden, San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk, reporter Paul Avery, California assemblyman Willie Brown, and other progressives, avowed in 1977, “and have no hesitancy in commending them for their example in setting a high standard of ethics and morality in the community and also for providing enormous material assistance to poor, minority and disadvantaged people in every area of human need.”

Fonda denied joining Peoples Temple. She did attend a Temple service. In researching Cult City: Jim Jones, Harvey Milk, and 10 Days That Shook San Francisco, Jane Fonda’s name came up repeatedly, albeit no less shockingly each time, as a devoted supporter of Jim Jones. And other researchers uncovered a particularly damning letter sent after her visit to Peoples Temple: “I also recommit myself to your congregation as an active full participant—not only for myself, but because I want my two children to have the experience.”

Jim Jones certainly thought of her as a member of his flock. At an anti-suicide event at Golden Gate Bridge in 1977, Jones cited Fonda as a reason for releasing him from the doldrums. The Peoples Temple leader noted, eerily in light of the mass suicide at Jonestown, that “at one time or other we have all felt the alienation and despair. I think the despair got to me yesterday. If it hadn’t been for an Academy Award winning actress joining our church … I think I would have been in a suicidal mood myself today for perhaps the first time in my life, so I have a particular and personal empathy for what we are doing here today.”

In Jonestown, Peoples Temple screened the Jane Fonda film Julia. “I was of course particularly interested,” Temple member Edith Roller reflected in her diary, “because of the connection of Fonda with the Temple.” The Temple viewed Fonda as so important that they assigned her a codename—Xavier—for use on shortwave transmissions between Guyana and the United States.

Like so many who paid tribute to Jim Jones, Fonda eventually did not see her well-wishes reciprocated. One Temple transcript shows Marceline Jones, wife of the leader, unable to reach Fonda by telephone. Did she sour on Jim Jones? Jones surely soured on her.

“She’s a sellout. That’s what pains,” Jones told his flock in Jonestown.

Claiming to read from media reports in the United States, Jones on another occasion fantastically informed his followers: “Jane Fonda will not have anything to do with her former liberal friends, having at one time in her highest moments, gave her body for some fifty thousand dollars to help the [Black] Panthers, she’s now playing it safe, and on a quest in her middle years to be popular and acceptable, and hopes to see her husband become president.”

He labeled Fonda, who launched a series of successful exercise videos and won an Oscar and an Emmy after her dalliance with Peoples Temple, “over the hill.” He lashed out at Tom Hayden as a “stupid, sick punk.”

Just as Fonda’s politics led her to make outlandish claims about the president, her politics led her to make outlandish statements about the preacher. In both instances, she let passion overtake reason. Donald Trump is as much Adolf Hitler as Jim Jones was a man who set “a high standard of ethics and morality.”

Fonda’s interviewers over the years raise such indelicate subjects as her plastic surgeries and her trip to North Vietnam when the United States fought a war against the Communist nation. But her support for America’s most prolific mass murderer remains a subject too far down the memory hole to raise.

A biographer reports Fonda confessing her biggest regret as not jumping into bed with Che Guevara. Remorse for jumping into bed with Peoples Temple, strangely, did not rise to that level.

Facebook Says It ‘Mistakenly’ Removed Rabbi’s Story About Harassment By Farrakhan Supporters

Facebook is turning into Mistakebook.

Via Fox News:

Facebook said Friday that it “mistakenly” removed a New York City rabbi’s story about being harassed a day earlier by supporters of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

Rabbi Avram Mlotek of Base MNHTN posted his account on the social media site about an incident on a train where he was confronted by a man who called him a “f—— fake” Jew and “impostor.”

“This man told me repeatedly that Israel was not mine, that I was a fraud, and that Jews are responsible for the mess we find ourselves in today in the city of New York and all over the world,” Mlotek wrote in a now-viral post.

The man who approached the rabbi went on show a photo of Farrakhan and asked the rabbi if he knew who Farrakhan was. The rabbi said he told the man that Farrakhan is an anti-Semite.

“No, that’s a real Jew. You’re a f——- fake,” came the man’s reply.

Farrakhan has a long history of making anti-Semitic remarks, including once praising Nazi Germany leader Adolf Hitler as “a very great man.”

The most recent controversy involves Farrakhan commenting on Twitter that “I’m not an anti-Semite. I’m anti-Termite.”

Mlotek said another man on the train joined in to support the first man, with both of them lifting their fists in the Black Power symbol.

“He a photo-copy,” said the second man. “And a bunch of them are gays. F—ing f—-ts. You gonna get off this subway stop, man?” said the first man again.

Mlotek said the man called him a “c——-” as he got off the train. He added that no one else aboard the train spoke out during the incident.

After the rabbi’s post gathered attention, it was struck down by Facebook.

Mlotek wrote in a separate post that the story was removed because it “violates community standards.”[…]

A Facebook spokesperson told the Jewish Journal that the Rabbi’s post was “mistakenly” removed and has been restored. The post doesn’t appear to be live.

Black conservative activists demand CNN discuss Don Lemon’s racial remarks: ‘This cannot stand’

Project 21, a black conservative activist group, is calling on CNN to speak out and discuss the racially charged remarks made by one of its anchors.
Anchor Don Lemon was speaking to fellow CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on Monday night when he said that white men were the biggest terrorist threat to the U.S. Lemon also mused over why there isn’t a travel ban in place for white men.
Despite receiving heavy criticism, Lemon refused to back down on his comments throughout the week, and instead, doubled down on them Wednesday night. CNN has refused to address the remarks — and the fallout — at the time of this writing.

What is the activist group saying?

In a Thursday news release, the organization called on CNN President Jeff Zucker to participate in a discussion about Lemon’s remarks.
The organization, which is under the umbrella of conservative group The National Center for Public Policy Research, called Lemon’s rhetoric "outrageous" and irresponsible.
In the news release, co-chairs Bishop Council Nedd, Stacy Washington, and Horace Cooper wrote, "Within a space of five seconds, CNN’s Don Lemon went from saying we shouldn’t demonize people to broadly labeling white men as our nation’s ‘biggest terror threat.’"
"That’s not responsible journalism," the release adds. "This cannot stand."
"CNN President Jeff Zucker recently called out the White House for its criticism of the media, saying President Trump doesn’t comprehend the importance of the words he uses," the statement continues. "It’s time for Zucker to put his own house in order — starting with explaining how Don Lemon’s outrageous statement can stand in light of Zucker’s call for civility."

What did Lemon specifically say, anyway?

Lemon made the offending remarks to Cuomo on Monday, pointing to the pipe bombs sent to prominent Democrats and the Pittsburgh synagogue mass killing. He also referred to the Kentucky grocery store murders last week, in which a white man gunned down two black individuals.
Lemon explained that it’s time to sit down and examine the root causes of these acts of violence.
“I keep trying to point out to people and not to demonize any one group or any one ethnicity,” Lemon said. “But we keep thinking that the biggest terror threat is something else, some people who are marching, you know, toward the border, like it’s imminent.”
Lemon then went on and demonized white men.
“So, we have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men — most of them radicalized to the right — and we have to start doing something about them,” he explained. “There is no travel ban on them. There is no ban on — you know, they had the Muslim ban. There is no ‘white guy ban.’”

Trump stuns reporter with reply to her very pointed question – here’s what he said

President Donald Trump didn’t take kindly to a question from a reporter about political violence Friday and he threw it right back in her face with his fiery response. “You are creating — you!"
ABC News correspondent Karen Travers asked the president to comment on a poll that said many Americans blamed his rhetoric for inspiring political violence. "Some Americans say you are encouraging politically motivated violence with the way you speak," she said.
"No, no, you know what? You’re creating violence by your questions," he responded. “Me?” she said, stunned. “You are creating — you!" he said, pointing directly at her. "Also a lot of the reporters are creating violence by not writing the truth," he explained. "The fake news is creating violence." "And you know what?" he continued. "The people that support Trump, and the people that support us which is a lot of people, most people, many people, most people know when a story is true and they know when a story is false."
"And I’ll tell you what," Trump said, "if the media would write correctly and write accurately and write fairly you’d have a lot less violence in the country." "The president is not placing blame"
Travers responded to the altercation later with a tweet from her social media account. "Reminder that earlier this week, Sarah Sanders said ‘The president is not placing blame,’" she tweeted. "Today he points a finger at me and says, ‘You’re creating violence by your question. You are creating – you.’" she added. Here’s the video of the altercation with Travers:
