Brand New Bill Would Allow Schools to Finally Bring the Bible Back to the Classroom

The West Virginia state Senate is considering a bill that would require all schools to provide an elective course on the Bible.

The proposed legislation would require public and private schools to offer a course that would cover either Hebrew scriptures, the Old Testament or the New Testament, WHSV-TV reported.

Republican state Sens. Mike Azinger and Sue Cline introduced Senate Bill 252, which would allow students to choose which courses they would like to take.

The bill would require “federal and state laws to be followed regarding religious neutrality, while accommodating the diverse religious views of students.”

The purpose of the courses would be to teach students the history of the Bible, including its literary style and its influence on society, WSAZ reported.

The legislation stated that the courses “may not endorse, favor, or promote, or disfavor or show hostility toward, any particular religion or nonreligious faith or religious perspective,” according to federal law.

SB 252 has been sent to the Senate Education Committee, and if it becomes law, the Bible electives would be made available at all grade levels.

Reaction to the proposition has been mixed, and the ACLU claimed such classes may violate the Constitution.

Of course it did.

Do you support the idea of schools offering Bible courses?

Eli Baumwell, policy director for the ACLU of West Virginia, told WDTV that the classes were a bad idea.

“We know from experience that when these courses are offered even as an elective, there can be a lot of social pressure and even pressure from teachers and school administrators,” he said.

Pressure to do what?

The only pressure most teachers and school administrators have applied in recent years is to suppress any mention of Christianity at schools while supporting such nonsensical ideas as transgender boys using girls restrooms and a gay Santa Claus.

Dr. Mark A. Staples, pastor at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fairmont, had a more open view of the classes.

“It could be so helpful for students, not so much for promoting a particular type of religion but I think there’s a lot of historical as well as biblical pieces that can be very important for students to understand,” he said.

It certainly couldn’t hurt anything.

While this legislation has yet to pass, it would be a big step for religious freedom if it did.

TOM FITTON WARNS: “Tsunami of Information” Set To Expose “Obama/Clinton/Deep State Scandals” (VIDEO)

Echoing statements he made on Fox News program “Hannity” last week, Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton warned on Tuesday that a “tsunami of information” exposing “Obama/Clinton/Deep State scandals,” will soon be released. 

Joined by Fox News contributor Sara Carter, Fitton told Sean Hannity:

“I think there’s going to be, as Sara’s indicating, a tsunami of information coming out on all of these scandals. We have the court ruling that the Clinton emails need to be released more quickly. So, we’re going to get all these Clinton emails that she tried to hide or delete […..] Or as we found on the Weiner laptop, classified information and pay-to-play, which I guarantee is going to be coming out. And then we had the court just yesterday talk about how he wants the Comey memos, because he wants to review the Comey memos, which are the genesis of the Mueller operation […] It’s all building. There are text messages they are talking about. Now we are going to find out more details about the FISA, the intelligence surveillance abuses.”

Judicial Watch recently announced a federal judge ordered the State Department to speed up the release Hillary Clinton’s 72,000 pages of email records.

The records will be released September 28th, 2018 — not in 2020.

Reporter Sara Carter recently told Fox News host Sean Hannity that the Inspector General’s report will be released sometime in January, however, the deadline may have been quietly pushed back.

As The Gateway Pundit‘s Jim Hoft reported, The Department of Justice turned over some of the 1.2 million documents requested by lawmakers this past week.

The documents are related to the Obama Justice Department’s activities during the 2016 election.

Additionally, According to the Daily Caller, Nunes and the House Intel Committee reviewed all FBI and DOJ docs on the dossier including the FISA apps.

It’s all coming together.

Fitton took to YouTube Monday to report Clinton, was “hiding everything on her private email server.”

The “everything,” Fitton is referring to may hold the key to a plethora of scandals surrounding Clinton, everything from the FBI’s handling of her email investigation to alleged pay-to-play scheme between the Clinton Foundation and State Department agencies. Fitton’s latest video begs the question: why is the Trump State Department taking its sweet time to release the rest of Clinton’s emails while she was Secretary of State?

Releasing the documents will only further granulize Clinton’s corrupt practices, lending even MORE evidence that the Justice Department must finally get serious about investigating Hillary.

Fitton’s latest report underscores an important and unfortunate reality: not enough attention is being paid to the original Clinton email scandal — the missing 33,00 emails.

Report: Big ICE Operation Planned Right in Dianne Feinstein’s Backyard

The Democrats have been playing dirty pool with their game of chicken over a government shutdown unless a “clean” DACA bill grants amnesty to millions of illegal aliens but one of their leaders is stressing hard over a media report of an impending government operation targeting “shithole” sanctuary cities.

The wretched bag of garbage that is Senator Dianne Feinstein just set new standards for Democrat divisiveness and race-baiting when she suggested that President Trump wants to turn the USA into an Aryan nation just like Hitler dreamed of in Germany.

Now she is tripping out over a report that Immigrations and Customs Enforcement is planning a roundup right in her home city of San Francisco and the immediate vicinity because God forbid that the law will be enforced in California.

Via the San Francisco Chronicle “Feds planning massive Northern California immigration sweep to strike against sanctuary laws”:

U.S. immigration officials have begun preparing for a major sweep in San Francisco and other Northern California cities in which federal officers would look to arrest more than 1,500 undocumented people while sending a message that immigration policy will be enforced in the sanctuary state, according to a source familiar with the operation.

Officials at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE, declined to comment Tuesday on plans for the operation.

The campaign, centered in the Bay Area, could happen within weeks, and is expected to become the biggest enforcement action of its kind under President Trump, said the source, who requested anonymity because the plans have not been made public.

Trump has expressed frustration that sanctuary laws — which seek to protect immigrants and persuade them not to live in the shadows by restricting cooperation between local and federal authorities — get in the way of his goal of tightening immigration.

The operation would go after people who have been identified as targets for deportation, including those who have been served with final deportation orders and those with criminal histories, the source said. The number could tick up if officers come across other undocumented immigrants in the course of their actions and make what are known as collateral arrests.

Told of the planned sweep, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein expressed outrage Tuesday, saying immigrants “must not be targeted in raids solely because they are Californians.” She said a large-scale operation would show that “the administration is carrying out its enforcement actions to make a political point and not based on the security of the country.”

The source who spoke to The Chronicle said the plan calls for immigration officers to be flown in from other parts of the country to help carry out the operation. The sweep could span more than one day and will include enforcement of work sites suspected of illegally employing undocumented immigrants, the source said.

An ICE spokesman in San Francisco, James Schwab, said in an email Tuesday that the agency “doesn’t comment on future or current operations.”

The Chronicle story depends on an anonymous source so it’s either hogwash or there are more partisan hacks who are leaking classified information to the media to undermine the efforts of the Department of Homeland Security and the Trump administration to enforce the law.

Feinstein’s donors are understandably furious over a hardline approach to immigration policy that directly affects their bottom lines by depriving them of the illegal aliens that they need to keep wages down.

Whether or not the story of the raid is true, it has already been compromised by a rat from within who has not only given criminal illegals time to relocate but has also potentially put the lives of ICE agents in danger. Where in the hell is Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his promised investigation of leaks? This one could get someone killed.

New All Time Highs!  Records Shattered!  Every Dow record imaginable shattered.  President Trump owns the Dow.

Although President Trump has not yet been in office for a full year, his first year in office is already the greatest year in stock market history! Today it got even better.

Today the Dow ended up again at another all time high closing at 26,115.  This is the 95th all time high in the Dow since President Trump won the 2016 election.  It’s also the first time in US history that the Dow surpassed 26,000.

Since the 2016 election the Dow is up more that 42%!  The Dow on November 8th, 2016 closed at 18,333. After today’s close the Dow is up 7,780 points since the election.  This is the largest point increase in this amount of time in Dow history. This has never happened in the more than 100 years in the Dow.

Today’s new all time high shattered the record books!

* The Dow increased more in 2017 than any year ever in Dow history! The Dow ended 2016 at 19,763 and ended 2017 at 24,719 for a nearly 5,000 point increase. This is the most ever by more than 40% over the next best year ever (In 2013 the Dow was up 3,472 points).

We’ll just stop here.  If you can imagine an all time high record – safe to say President Trump’s stock market rally broke it!  Why didn’t we elect a billionaire President before 2016!

Cost Of California’s High-Speed Train Just Skyrocketed . . . AGAIN!

California’s high-speed choo-choo train drifted further into bizarro world Tuesday when the project’s lead government body announced a $2.8 billion jump in costs for the first 119-mile section of the planned 800-mile route.

At the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s monthly board meeting, Roy Hill, who heads the project’s main consulting firm, said the project has reached a “worst-case scenario” of increases unanticipated by the rail authority, but widely predicted outside the halls of state government, even in a confidential analysis by the Federal Railroad Administration.

Hill said delays in purchasing the land, the need to buy more parcels than projected, and the increase in land prices account for about $725 million of the cost increase; construction delays, $325 million; intrusion barriers to separate bullet-train tracks from adjacent railroad lines, $450 million; increased costs with outside agencies, $600 million; and contingencies set aside for future increases, $600 million.

Tuesday’s setback is just the most recent in a decade-long boondoggle of mismanagement, obfuscation, and wildly optimistic projections.

Voters approved the high-speed rail project in a 2008 ballot proposition. But at the time the rail authority projected a $40 billion price tag, a 2028 completion date, and a $55 one-way Los Angeles to San Francisco fare.

One year later, the rail authority said the project would actually cost $98.5 billion, the completion date would be 2033, and an L.A. to S.F. ticket would cost $95.

In 2012, the projected cost went back down to just double the original estimate — $68 billion.

The authority’s latest official estimate, in 2016, pegged costs at $64 billion, almost certainly a gross underestimate if the board’s past projections are any indication.

Just two years ago, the authority projected that the 119-mile section in California’s Central Valley would cost $7.8 billion, itself a jump from the initial $6 billion projection. The new $10.6 billion estimate means that each mile of track in that one section will cost over $89 million, a 77% increase from the projection that voters approved 10 years ago.

If costs for the entire high-speed rail increase at the same rate, it would cost $113 billion.

But more likely is that this first section of the rail will be the easiest to build, and that costs will increase at an even steeper rate as construction progresses. Future sections include lines beneath the Tehachapi and San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California, and the dense, urban route into the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles Area.

The rail authority’s chairman, Dan Richard, said going forward new construction won’t begin on future segments until all the land is in hand, which, as the Los Angeles Times pointed out, is “a practice that outside experts have long said is prudent project management.”

Those are three words — prudent project management — that state authorities would do well to practice should they intend for their fantastical choo-choo train to even have a completion date at all.

After reaping benefits of the GOP tax law, Apple makes a big U.S. investment

American workers and the U.S. economy continue to experience the benefits of the Republican tax law, with Apple announcing Wednesday that it will create thousands of new jobs, open a new U.S. campus, and give stock bonuses to most of its employees, according to a USA Today report.

Big benefits

Partially as a result of the corporate-friendly tax law, Apple plans to spend $30 billion on its U.S. business over the next five years.

In addition to opening new data centers, Apple will add more than 20,000 jobs at existing campuses and open a new campus, with the location to be determined.

Tens of thousands of Apple employees will receive $2,500 stock bonuses over the next few months.

Bringing the money home

Since the corporate tax rate has been lowered, Apple is in the process of bringing back a large portion of its approximately $252 billion in overseas cash to America, which means the company will be making a $38 billion tax payment on its overseas profits.

“Apple is a success story that could have only happened in America, and we are proud to build on our long history of support for the U.S. economy,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.

This writer’s perspective: Working as planned

Republicans insisted throughout the tax reform process that the lower corporate tax rate would boost the economy as corporations invested the additional funds into job growth and higher wages.

The overall success or failure of a tax law is difficult to judge in such a short time, but with Apple’s announcement following a recent string of corporations investing in workers and the economy, it’s “so far, so good” for the GOP’s reform.

The Justice Department announced Tuesday that it had charged ex-CIA agent Jerry Chun Shing Lee with a felony for unlawfully retaining classified information. Chief Asst. U.S. Attorney Andrew C. McCarthy believes Lee’s arrest demonstrates the Trump administration is doing what the Obama administration, in part, refused to do — enforce the Espionage Act. The move may spell trouble for Hillary Clinton. 

McCarthy writes in National Review:

That said, the Trump Justice Department’s prosecution theory in Lee’s case repudiates in every salient particular the Obama Justice Department’s analysis of the Clinton investigation. […] It was based on such an absence of traitorous intent that the Obama Justice Department and the FBI — and, more important, President Obama himself — rationalized dropping the Clinton investigation rather than filing an indictment. […]

Finally, it makes no difference that Lee is charged with felony retention of classified information under the Espionage Act’s section 793(e) while Mrs. Clinton was said to be investigated for grossly negligent mishandling of classified information under the Act’s section 793(f). […]

Mrs. Clinton should have been investigated (and charged) under section 793(e) since she, like Lee, willfully and unlawfully retained classified information in unauthorized places (and transmitted it to unauthorized people). The gross-negligence felony (793(f)) should have been the prosecutors’ fallback position — i.e., even if a jury somehow rejected the overwhelming evidence that she willfully mishandled the intelligence, she could still be convicted if the jury concluded she was grossly negligent.

Yet, by drawing us into this morass, the Obama administration ingeniously set the framework for public discussion of Clinton’s case: just carelessness, not real crime. In reality, Clinton was like Lee: She should have been prosecuted for willful misconduct. […] To put it mildly, Lee’s case is no slam-dunk. But if the government fails to convict Lee, it won’t be due to the intent element, on which the evidence is strong. In that sense, the Espionage Act is back to being enforced as it is written. If the email investigation were reopened under those terms, it would be bad news for Mrs. Clinton and her underlings.

As The Gateway Pundit‘s Cristina Laila reported, Comey’s original Hillary Clinton statement was recently released to the public by Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI).

Comey’s original draft stated, “Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statute proscribing gross negligence in the handling of classified information and of the statute proscribing misdemeanor mishandling, my judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”

Later, the phrases “gross negligence” and “misdemeanor mishandling” where changed to “potential violations of the statutes.”

Shockingly, Johnson revealed “hostile actors” likely gained access to classified information inside Clinton’s private email server.

Documents released in August show Comey exonerated Clinton before the investigation into her email conduct had concluded. Even more concerning is “Mr. Comey even circulated an early draft statement to select members of senior FBI leadership,” reported Townhall.

Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow says Comey exonerated Hillary Clinton prior to interviewing 17 witnesses.
