MUST WATCH: ‘An Open Secret’ Documentary Explores Hollywood’s Nefarious Pedophile Ring

Now that movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s “open secret” has been laid bare before the judging eyes of the American public, attention has shifted back onto another Hollywood “open secret” that has yet to have its day of reckoning: the nefarious pedophile ring that has allegedly operated within the entertainment industry since the early 1980s.

In 2014, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Amy Berg brilliantly explored the horrific underbelly of Hollywood that preys upon innocent children. Despite rave reviews, her documentary “An Open Secret” mysteriously never garnered distribution and was universally rejected from the film festival circuit.

For the past three years, the film has since survived on the internet and earned a steady stream of viewers. However, amidst the Harvey Weinstein scandal, and a renewed interest in Corey Feldman’s claims that he was a victim of the alleged pedophile ring, a resumed interest has circled back onto the documentary, giving it new life.

To honor the victims of these horrific crimes, the film’s producer Gabe Hoffman has made the film available entirely for free on VIMEO.

“It’s so funny to keep seeing headlines about how Harvey’s abuse was ‘an open secret’ in Hollywood, and that’s the name of our film,” Hoffman told The Hollywood Reporter.

“We haven’t got any offers from major distributors yet because Hollywood doesn’t want to expose its dirty laundry, so we’ve been sitting on this for a while. Now, we want to celebrate the brave women who have exposed Harvey,” he said.

“Harvey Weinstein, by the way, is not the only one who has used confidentiality settlements. That’s why more of Hollywood’s behavior hasn’t been exposed. This is the tip of the iceberg.”

The film details nefarious happenings within the Digital Entertainment Network (DEN), an early-2000’s experiment in internet entertainment. Among DEN’s investors were the likes of Dreamworks co-founder David Geffen and “X-Men” director Bryan Singer, whose alleged sexual misconduct has been discussed several times on this site in the past few weeks.

As noted by THR, “DEN was a producer of five-minute videos for web consumption, but it’s best remembered today for hosting wild parties with drugs, alcohol and underage boys at the former residence of founder, Marc Collins-Rector, now a registered sex offender.”

The documentary also profiles talent manager Marty Weiss, who went on to plead no contest to lewd acts on a child, and Bob Villard, who previously represented Leonardo DiCaprio and also pleaded no contest to lewd acts with a child. Corey Feldman has named Marty Weiss as being among his abusers.

WALSH: NBC News Says It’s Immoral To Have Kids. Here Are 6 Reasons Why That’s Insane.

NBC News just posted a lengthy opinion piece explaining why it’s “morally suspect” to have kids. It argues that human beings are bad for the Earth — what with our carbon emissions, and our pollution, and the electricity that was used to write and publish an article complaining about carbon emissions and pollution, etc. — and the only appropriate response is to have fewer children.

The author, an alleged “bioethicist” and confirmed maniac named Travis Rieder, compares having offspring to freeing a murderer from prison (no, seriously). He says that you would be morally responsible for the future murders the escaped convict commits, just as you’re morally responsible for the carbon emissions your daughter emits. When your daughter breathes, selfishly, and melts an ice cap, and a whole family of polar bears drown in the icy depths, you’re on the hook, pal. Having one child is tantamount to directly murdering probably 12 polar bears or so, if I have my math right. My wife and I have already slaughtered 36 polar bears according to this equation I just made up. We can’t get enough of it. It’s pretty disturbing, really, how much we love murdering polar bears.

Rieder admits that his view may seem a tad extreme to some of you, but that’s only because you’re a bunch of dumb, backwards hicks and your “moral psychology hasn’t evolved” enough to understand and appreciate the brilliance of Travis Rieder. I’m not sure that the term “moral psychology” actually means anything, strictly speaking, but that’s probably because I’m a dumb, backwards hick, too.

Now, it wouldn’t be worth responding to the ravings of this self-loathing madman, except that the ravings were published by a major news organization, and he’s articulating an idea that has many proponents on the Left. Whether or not they’d go so far as to compare childbirth to releasing a serial killer from prison, many of them believe that having “too many kids” is ethically dubious. I’d like to take a few moments and explain why this view is extremely stupid. There are many more than six reasons but I’ll just focus on these six:

1. Overpopulation is a myth.

This all hinges on the obviously absurd notion that the Earth has some sort of max capacity for human life, and we’ve almost reached it or already exceeded it. The overpopulation myth is just that: a myth. It was invented out of thin air a few decades ago, around the time that environmentalists and eugenicists were telling us about the imminent ice age, which apparently came and went and destroyed mankind without any of us noticing.

In reality, the Earth really has no carrying capacity. Or, if it does, we’ll never get close to it. As it stands, we have enough room to fit the entire population of the world into Texas and enough resources to feed them all three times over. It’s not a coincidence that articles about overpopulation always come accompanied by images of people in Manhattan or Tokyo all crammed together in a train or on a sidewalk. For some reason, they never show you the vast swaths of fertile land where nobody currently lives. They never show you North Dakota or rural China. It’s our choice not to live in North Dakota. Perhaps our cities have a population limit — and even that limit is quite flexible — but the Earth is enormous and ancient and resilient, and it can handle us. All of us.

2. Man-made climate change is a myth.

Climate change was supposed to have already brought about the extinction of the human race several times by now. It hasn’t, probably because climate change isn’t that big of a deal. The Earth has warmed very slightly over the past century and half, it has now stopped warming, and there’s no real evidence that human beings contributed to it in any significant way. It’s probably for this reason that there really is no “scientific consensus” on climate change and never was.

3. Human beings are not commodities.

The first two points don’t matter all that much. I’m sorry for wasting your time with them. Even if it could be proven that an “excess” of children may lead to this or that problematic outcome, it still would not be morally justified to treat children as if they can be in “excess.”

Either we believe that human life is sacred, and each life holds infinite value, or we don’t. If we don’t, then I’m not sure why we’re having this conversation or any conversation. Life is meaningless, therefore the polar bears and the trees and all the fish in the sea are meaningless, therefore the Earth is meaningless, therefore we may as well kill ourselves and escape this painful nothingness of existence. Certainly, if human life has no intrinsic value then we shouldn’t bother ourselves by worrying about silly things like murder, rape, and so forth. Who cares what one worthless, accidental clump of matter does to another? It’s all the same in the end. It is only possible and sensible to continue this conversation if we agree that life has value, and that its value is inherent.

So, if we are moving forward with that understanding, we must agree that each life is worth the trouble it may supposedly, potentially, cause. Life is not a thing that can be measured, counted, or rationed, even by a bioethicist with a PhD and a arsenal of smart-sounding phrases that don’t mean anything. Life transcends all of that. If it does not, suicide is the only sensible course of action.

4. Speaking of which, why hasn’t Rieder availed himself of that option?

It’s fascinating to note that those who worry about overpopulation never seem to put themselves in the “over” category. But if a person truly believed that the surplus of humanity on Earth has become a moral crisis, is that person not morally obliged to minimize that surplus in the only way he really can? Yet Travis Rieder continues to breathe, annihilating another polar bear family as we speak, refusing to lead by example. It’s unconscionable.

Let me stipulate that I am not sincerely advocating suicide. I’m only demonstrating the insincerity of Travis Rieder’s position. For the record, I hope he lives a long life — I just hope he gets a clue at some point during that process.

5. By the way, why are we still trying to save the panda bears?

I can’t make sense of this. On the one hand, environmentalists tell us that carbon emissions are destroying the planet and we must have fewer children to address the epidemic, but on the other hand they say that we must do everything we can to stave off the extinction of pandas and koalas and other effectively useless species who seem to want very badly to die off. We’re basically forcing pandas to have sex, we’re so desperate to keep them around. Why? They emit carbon too, don’t they? Why are humans the ones who need to embrace extinction? If there are “too many” biological creatures on Earth, and if we need to curb the expansion of this horrid disease called life, why wouldn’t we start with the creatures who are near extinction anyway, and who have less value than human beings?

All I’m saying is don’t tell me to have fewer kids while you’re out there artificially inseminating koala bears, for God’s sake.

6. It’s called selfishness.

What lies at the foundation of these attempts to make procreation seem irresponsible, besides nihilism, is selfishness. Rather than admit that they decided not to have kids due to their own materialism and greed, environmentally conscious Leftists have latched onto this rationale. It’s all nonsense, of course.

The “morally suspect” thing is to forgo raising a family in favor of pricier vacations and nicer home furnishings. Their attempt to make their shallow, self-interested lifestyle seem noble is pitifully unconvincing. Especially because this excuse is usually trotted out by well off liberals who rarely follow up their “sacrifice” of not having kids by sacrificing any of the wasteful luxuries their childless life now affords them. Oddly, they were so concerned about the planet that they bypassed procreation, but not so concerned that they bypassed that trip to the Bahamas, or that third car they don’t need, or the eighth pair of shoes in their closet, or the TV in the guestroom nobody sleeps in.

Strange how “sacrifice” works with these types.

Quick! We must de-gender the romance languages

I’ve read this story twice today and I still can’t decide if this is a feminist thing or a transgender thing. Either way, if one group is making use of it today the other will no doubt pick up on the cause tomorrow. The “problem” being addressed is the fact that the French language isn’t gender neutral. And in fact it’s been heavily “gendered” as far back as we have records of people speaking French. But this is the era of the rejection of gender norms (and much of biology) so something has to be done about it.

By way of disclosure, I don’t speak French. It came down to a coin toss in school and I wound up taking Spanish, but there are plenty of similarities along these lines with all the romance languages. At issue here are the endless examples of gender-specific words applying to people as well as the inherent gender of plants, animals and inanimate objects. In Spanish, a female doctor is la medica or la doctora. A male doctor is el medico or el doctoro. In French, the job title of a movie director is directeur in the masculine, and directrice in the feminine.

Of course, this won’t do in 2017. Someone needs to rip the gender references out of this ancient language and a movement is on to do just that. And it’s being led by Éliane Viennot, a professor of literature and language who has been fighting for the feminist cause since the 80s. (PRI)

Three decades after my classmates and I unquestioningly absorbed this rule, however, a new grammar manual released earlier this year by the Hatier publishing house has plunged France into a heated debate over gender-inclusive writing. The new handbook sets forth a method of writing plurals that include both feminine and masculine endings, separated by dots. The gender-neutral plural for director, then, is directeur·rice·s, according to the manual.

Très fier.ère.s d’avoir publié le premier manuel scolaire en écriture inclusive ! Magellan Questionner le Monde CE2. https://t.co/lKnNN1wfJV

At best, this form of inclusive writing is a way to dismantle the patriarchy through a bloodless spelling revolution. At worst, it makes the language of love look like algebra.

So it’s come to this. The French language now needs to be reformed after millennia so standard words will have a series of dots embedded in them just to be sure that no one is confused as to whether Angelina Jolie is a man or a woman when she goes up on stage to accept her next Palme d’Or at Cannes.

It can’t stop there, though, can it? As I mentioned above, it’s not just titles which have a gender associated with them. Reverting back to Spanish for a moment, let’s remember that physical locations are also gendered. The bathroom is baño (masculine) while the shoe store is zapatería (feminine). From an Archie Bunker era perspective those probably make perfect sense, but can you imagine the outrage when a transgender person who has decided they are female winds up having to use a ladies room with a masculine name? Somebody needs to be arrested for this.

Let’s just throw in the towel now. We’ll need an entirely new language which everyone in the world will be forced to learn. Biology can no longer be taught in schools because there won’t be words to describe several fundamental concepts which are at the core of that science. A global lottery can be established which will select who each of you is allowed to date and perhaps marry (assuming marriage is still legal), totally at random in terms of gender because we wouldn’t want to be biased. Then, citizens, we shall finally have achieved true equality and established paradise on Earth.

As for me, I’ll be locked in my bomb shelter with five hundred cases of Hendricks.

Update (Ed): As for me, I’ll stick with Irish, which I’ve begun to study again. It also has gendered nouns, but who’s going to be able to tell? Heck, I used to be conversational in it, and I still can’t tell. Once the whole world speaks Irish, the problem will be solved, surely. Más cam nó díreach an ród, ‘s é an bothar mór an t-aicearra.

After UK Imposes Strict Gun Laws, Gun Crime Rises 27 Percent

One of the examples Democrats point to when arguing for tighter gun legislation is the U.K., where it is illegal to own a handgun and extremely difficult to own a shotgun.

Liberals claim that fewer guns, even in the hands of law-abiding citizens, equals less crime, but they can’t prove it.

Convincing leftists that taking guns away from people has no effect on the crime rate and leaves some people absolutely defenseless is tough.

For example, in response to a 27 percent increase in crimes involving firearms reported by the Office for National Statistics, Britain is holding a two-week gun amnesty in which it hopes to get even more guns off the streets.

Sky News reported that British citizens are urged to hand over illegal firearms, which would include air guns, rifles, BB guns, shotguns, pistols, antiques and ex-military firearms.

TRENDING: Exclusive: Woman Who Worked for Moore in Her Teens Shakes Left’s Narrative

While law-abiding citizens hand over their arms, the criminals do not.

When people hand over their firearms, they are handing over their safety and security as well as their right to defend themselves.

Assistant Chief Constable and National Police Chiefs’ Council firearms lead Helen McMillan said people do not have to give their names or addresses, adding that the goal of the amnesty is to prevent dangerous situations.

“Each firearm we retrieve has the potential to save a life, so do the right thing and surrender your weapon,” she said.

“Illegal possession of a firearm can result in a five year prison sentence. If you are found guilty of possession with intent to supply, it could lead to a life sentence,” Sky News reported.

The U.K. has done this kind of thing before, and it doesn’t appear to have worked.

Making handguns illegal also hasn’t helped decrease crime in the U.K.

So what makes the government think this new sweep of weapons will make citizens safer?

RELATED: Women’s March Gives Students “Toolkits” to Be Better “Equipped” Feminists

The sad reality is that it most likely won’t.

The 27 percent increase in crime proves that confiscating guns does not make citizens safer. In fact, the statistic from the Office for National Statistics appears to suggest that it increases crime.

Democrats always love to point to the U.K.’s gun laws whenever a mass shooting takes place in the United States, suggesting that if fewer guns were in the hands of honest Americans, there would be less crime.

But they are wrong, as usual. They are pushing a false and dangerous narrative, and we cannot let them get away with it.

Hate Crimes Targeting Jews Rise for Second Year in a Row

BY:

More than half of hate crimes motivated by bias against a particular religion in 2016 were aimed at Jewish Americans even though Jewish Americans constitute just two percent of the population, according to a new FBI report.

The hate crime rate come from the FBI’s report, “Hate Crime Statistics, 2016,” the latest release from its Uniform Crime Reporting system. The overall report shows a five percent increase in hate crimes between 2015 and 2016.

Hate crimes targeted at Jewish Americans, meanwhile, increased by 20 percent in that same time period. The number of victims affected by those crimes also rose, by 17.9 percent. Hate crimes targeting Jews accounted for around 11 percent of 2016 hate crimes overall.

Jewish Americans have been the victim of the majority of religiously motivated hate crimes continuously since 1996, the earliest year for which the FBI has reported statistics. The number of offenses in 2016—833—is notably lower than those through the first ten years of reporting, which averaged more than a thousand offenses per year.

However, the number of hate crimes targeting Jews have increased year-on-year for the past two years. This represents a deviation from past trend, as said crimes decreased continually between 2008 and 2014. 2015 saw a 9 percent increase over the preceding year, and 2016’s 20 percent bump confirms this change in trend.

Although 2016 levels remain below the historical average, this two-year increase may signal a concerning increase in targeting of America’s Jews. It should be noted that violent crimes also reversed trend over the same two-year period.

Jonathan A. Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), called the two-year increase “deeply disturbing,” and called for “improving hate crime data collection, advocating for better hate crime legislation, and working closely with law enforcement on hate crime training” to address the rise.

The majority of hate crimes targeting Jews were non-violent. Thirty-seven percent of the crimes were targeted against individuals, the overwhelming majority of which were instances of intimidation. There were also 61 instances of simple assault, and 12 of aggravated assault.

The remaining 63 percent of the crimes were crimes against property. These were by-and-large instances of vandalism/destruction of property: 489 out of the 522 crimes against property.

These property crimes contribute to an overall sense of a targeting of Jewish community gathering places. Threats against synagogues and Jewish community centers have caused concern among many Americans. More than a hundred community centers have dealt with bomb threats, CNN reported in March. That wave of threats led eventually to the arrest of two men, including former Intercept journalist Juan Thompson.

Congress is considering H.R. 1730, the Combating Anti-Semitism Act of 2017, in response to the threats. That bill would increase criminal penalties for targeting religious buildings. The Muslim Jewish Advisory Council (MJAC), a joint project of the American Jewish Committee and the Islamic Society of North America, applauded H.R. 1730 in its response to the new hate crime numbers.

“We look forward to this bill’s adoption by the Congress in order to send a signal of zero tolerance for hate crimes against people of faith,” said Stanley Bergman, co-chair of the Council.

“The Department of Justice should increase its coordination with the states in public education and community relations, as well as in prosecutions and reporting of hate crimes,” said Co-Chair Farooq Kathwari.

As Bergman, Kathwari, and Congress all express concern about rising hate crimes against Jewish Americans, anti-Semitism is receiving a different hearing among some partisans on the left. Later this month, the New School in New York City will host Linda Sarsour, women’s march organizer and controversial activist for a talk on “Antisemitism and the Struggle for Justice.”

Sarsour may argue at the event that anti-Semitism is more often a charge used to silence than to name real problems. “When anti-Semitism is redefined as criticism of Israel,” the event’s description reads, “critics of Israeli policy become accused and targeted more than the growing far-right.”

Sarsour has a history of comments that critics have derided as anti-Semitic, the Free Beacon has noted:

Sarsour is one such critic of Israel who has made a variety of comments that detractors have accused of being anti-Semitic, including praising children who throw rocks at Israeli soldiers and defending former Palestinian terrorist Rasmea Odeh. She has also called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “waste of a human being,” said that “nothing is creepier than Zionism,” and argued that Zionists cannot be feminists.

This past month has also seen an increase in activity by the Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS), an organization which calls for economic political action against Israel. Organizations like the ADL have attacked BDS as employing anti-Semitic strategies and rhetoric.

More Confederate Monument Topplers Get All Felony Charges Dropped

Why bother to have any law at all? Just give in to all the anarchists now. They caught them on video, they even raided their houses and got evidence of the planning of the event. But they’re dropping the charges with their lawyer claiming there’s ‘no evidence.’ And this is why George Soros is buying DA positions across the country. You’ll see a lot more of this.

Via Daily Caller:

A North Carolinian judge dropped felony charges Tuesday against seven individuals accused of toppling a Confederate monument.

The Durham County Court previously dropped felony charges against three individuals implicated in the toppling a statue of a Confederate soldier in August, reported WNCT 9. The court dropped felony charges against another seven individuals Tuesday.

Police arrested and charged a total of 12 individuals after the Confederate statue was torn down. (RELATED: Rioter Who Toppled Confederate Statue In Durham May Received Scholarship)

Roger Echols, Durham’s district attorney, said there was no evidence indicating that “physically participated in taking the statue down,” according to WNCT 9. He also noted that the court “filed voluntary dismissals for three of the individuals charged.”

Kneeler League Ratings Continue Slide as Anti-Police National Anthem Protests Continue

The NFL has already lost 2.5 million viewers so far this year.

After decades of American tradition of standing at attention during the National Anthem the National Football League started their own tradition last year and allowed players to kneel, sit, or stretch during the National Anthem before the games.

The Bears-Packers game was half empty on Sunday.

NFL viewership also continues to slide.

Monday Night Football ratings reached a season low this week as Pantherss beat the Dolphins.

BOW DOWN: Companies That Vowed To Stop Advertising On “Hannity” Back Down

And I knew they would.

In response to a smear campaign against Fox News host Sean Hannity led by Media Matters maggot Angelo Carusone following the host’s widely praised interview last week with Alabama senatorial candidate Roy Moore, a number of advertisers vowed to stop advertising on his weeknight news program.

According to The New York Times, however, most of these advertisers appear to be backing down:

[B]y Tuesday, those companies were clarifying — or even deleting — statements they had made on the platform that indicated they had pulled ads from Mr. Hannity’s show. …

Realtor.com said in a tweet over the weekend that “we are not currently, and will not be running TV ads on Hannity.” Later, it deleted the tweet and posted a statement on its website saying the company advertises across “dozens of television networks” and will continue placing ads on Fox News and its top shows.

“Some staff didn’t realize that we have a practice of not engaging in boycotts,” a spokeswoman said of the deleted tweet. “Senior management at Realtor.com became aware over the weekend of the error, and the tweets were taken down Sunday and the policy was posted on our corporate website.”

Volvo Car USA apparently responded to a tweet from a consumer on Monday to say, “We have spoken with our media agency and have advised them to cease advertising on the show.” But that message has disappeared. The company did not respond to requests for comment.

You damn right, mothertouchers!

Here’s Volvo’s deleted tweet:

Yes, it did, you little weasel.

Like the other advertisers, Volvo likely realized that going to war against Hannity and his millions-strong fan base would not be wise. The coffee-maker company Keurig learned this the hard way over the weekend.

As of Wednesday, Keurig had long ago apologized and made it clear it intended to keep advertising on Hannity’s. Thank you, Keurig.

As for Angelo …

I got some advice for you, you little bitch, via the slightly remixed words of Westside: “Bow down when you come to my town, bow down when we [conservative] bound, ’cause we ain’t no haters like you, bow down to some [ladies and gentlemen] that’s greater than you!”

Silence on Sleaze-Bob Menendez

Silence on Sleaze-Bob Menendez
by Michelle Malkin
Creators Syndicate
Copyright 2017

The verdict is in.

I pronounce Democrat leaders, left-wing feminists and Beltway journalists guilty of gross negligence and hypocrisy over a dirty rotten sleazeball in their midst.

For the past 11 weeks, Bob Menendez has been on trial for 18 counts of bribery, fraud and corruption involving nearly $1 million in gifts and donations. The jury remained deadlocked as of Tuesday. A new Media Research Center analysis reported that ABC, CBS and NBC devoted 40 times more of their morning and evening TV newscast coverage this past week to Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore’s alleged sexual assault accusers than to the ongoing federal trial of one of the Democrats’ most powerful, visible and entrenched figures on Capitol Hill.

Four years ago, when the FBI raided the Florida home of creepy Democratic donor and eye doctor Salomon Melgen, Menendez suddenly remembered that he had failed to pay back his “hermano” $60,000 for private-jet flights to the Caribbean — where Melgen owns a tony home in the private Casa de Campo resort.

As the party-boy buds tell it, their two decades of favor-trading were innocent, brotherly acts of affection. That little reimbursement thing for joy rides shuttling Menendez, his girlfriend, his son and his son’s office manager around the world? It “fell through the cracks,” the former chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and lawyer explained.

Oopsie.

As government investigators discovered, the “friendship” entailed much more than backslaps and beach nights. Melgen was convicted this spring on 67 counts of massive Medicare fraud totaling $90 million. Prosecutors allege Menendez and his staff pulled strings and put pressure on public officials to back off Melgen’s billing blow-up. Menendez asserts he did nothing illegal and acted not out of obligation to a high-dollar donor, but because of his sincere policy concerns about how Medicare is run.

How noble.

My favorite M&M production involves what I dubbed the 36DD visa program. This is not in dispute: Menendez and his staff pressured the State Department to expedite the foreign tourist and student visa approval processes for a bevy of buxom foreign beauties. One of them, Brazilian actress and porn pinup star Juliana Lopes Leite (a.k.a. “Girlfriend 1”), had her F-1 student visa application moved to the top of the pile in 2008 after Menendez and his staff intervened as a favor to model-lovin’ Melgen.

Another, Rosiell Polanco-Suera, testified that her rejected visa application (along with her sister’s) received reconsideration and instant approval after Melgen promised to “fix it” by reaching out to Menendez.

Flying the crony skies on taxpayer time. Systematically bilking sick old people. Turning America’s visa programs into an international dating app for Dem donors.

Ho-hum.

Top Democrat leaders, so quick to call for the resignation of GOP candidates convicted in the court of public opinion, remain noncommittal about where they’ll stand if Menendez is convicted. Liberal media partisans are deliberately ignoring the story because they are incapacitated by Trump Derangement Syndrome. Women’s advocates looked the other way at Justice Department court filings on “specific, corroborated allegations that defendants Menendez and Melgen had sex with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic.”

The collective silence on Sleaze-Bob — busy raising more than $6 million for his re-election campaign and legal defense fund — roars louder than Melgen’s private jet engines.

Turns out “The Resistance” can’t and won’t resist a crapweasel when Democratic Party coffers and the balance of power in Washington are at stake.

400 Students Take Matters Into Own Hands After Atheists Tell Coach Not to Pray

When the atheist group Freedom from Religion Foundation sent a letter to Georgia’s East Coweta High School warning them that a tradition of coaches leading or participating in prayer with student athletes was impermissible, they probably thought they had already won the battle.

In a way, they did: the coaches didn’t lead the students in prayer. But that didn’t mean the players — or the fans — weren’t going to bow their heads before the Lord.

Instead, when East Coweta took the field Friday night, according to WAGA-TV, they had more than just the football players bowing their heads.

“Our students have done a great job and our students took it upon themselves to organize a prayer with our students in the stands before the game. Instead of it being 100 players praying, it turned into 400 students praying,” East Coweta coach John Small told the Christian Post. That’s their right and we are going to support them in that.”

And, as you can see, things seemed to have worked.

TRENDING: Mike Huckabee Destroys Colin Kaepernick After GQ Made Him “Citizen of the Year”

The whole thing began when the FFRF sent a letter to Superintendent Steve Barker on Oct. 25 about Coach Small’s praying with the team.

In a statement, the FFRF said they informed the district “that it is illegal for public school athletic coaches to further personal religious beliefs by leading their teams in prayer. Coach-led prayers, FFRF points out, equate to a government advancement and endorsement of religion — a stark violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.”

“Not only must public school coaches refrain from leading prayer themselves, but also from participating in students’ prayers, FFRF informed the district. When a public school employee in that official role organizes and advocates for team prayer, religion is endorsed on the district’s behalf.”

A memorandum drawn up by the school district said that the coaches couldn’t “bow their heads” or “manifest approval” if students led the prayer themselves, but they could still be there for it.

“We are not allowed to be in the middle of it but we have a right to be there with our players. We don’t have to flee (the scene),” Small told the Christian Post.

“If my head is bowed, nobody can tell me what I am thinking. I am not leading the prayer. I am there supporting my kids. Whether I am praying or not, nobody can say I am or I ain’t.”

As you can see, the new student-led prayer certainly didn’t make for any less prayer on the football field.

RELATED: Trump Squashes Obama’s PC Culture, Tells Conservatives Not to Be Silent

Small says that it’s “really turned into a positive” for the team.

“I think what is happened with this organization (FFRF), whatever their intent was, you tell teenagers they can’t do something, surely they are going to do it,” Small noted. “It has really turned into a positive because at the end of the day, we are trying to teach students about leadership and they should be the ones taking the charge on it anyway.”

Amen to that — literally.
