Gas prices reportedly rose 59% since Biden took office; Dems continue to point fingers at Putin

Two commentators went on Fox News on Monday to discuss high gas prices, and debate whether or not it is accurate for President Joe Biden to assign all the blame to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Prices at the pump have been causing a lot of Americans a lot of pain, and assigning blame for them has become a potent political football, with both parties assigning the blame to each other, or to outside circumstances. Democrats, perhaps fearful of voter retaliation in what was already looking like a difficult midterm battle this November, have largely seized on the idea that Putin’s brutal assault on Ukraine is the sole reason for gas prices to be spiking, due to the worldwide ripple effects and instability.

Republicans have taken the opposite approach, and have pilloried Biden’s energy policies as attacking America’s energy sector without actually providing a reasonable alternative.

Matthew Foldi from the Washington Free Beacon, and David Carlucci, a Democratic strategist, went on “Fox [email protected]” to talk about the issue.

When asked whether he would admit that prices had been on the rise before Putin’s invasion in February, Carlucci did agree, but added a caveat:

“We’ve seen inflation increase steadily over the past few months, but the invasion of Ukraine has obviously exacerbated the situation. So I think President Biden is right to blame Putin for this price increase. Is it the answer to ALL of the issues with inflation? No.”

Carlucci also agreed that energy independence was a desirable goal: “I think nothing speaks louder of our need for energy independence than this situation that is going on in Ukraine right now.”

Guest host Kevin Corke did note that prices had been increasing for 57 of the past 59 days, though that would still be within the window that Russia’s invasion plans have been made apparent to the world, though outside of the window of the actual start of the most recent phase of the invasion on February 24th (Russia has been illegally on Ukrainian soil since 2014, when it seized Crimea through force, and sponsored militias in the Donbas region).

More recently, gas had jumped 41 cents within a week, as of Monday when the show aired. Corke then went on to assert that prices had risen 59 percent under Biden, and accused Carlucci of making a “specious” argument for pointing out the context and timing of those jumps in relation to Putin’s escalation since last December.

Sharing a graphic on the prices, Corke noted that it’s “up 41 cents from just a week ago and it’s even worse than that, we’re talking much worse if you think about it, gas prices have got up some 59% since Joe Biden took office.”

“So looking at just that number you have to say it is a bit of a specious argument to sort of try to put this all on Vladimir Putin,” he said, teeing up Foldi for a response.

“Well, it is concerning for President Biden that one year in he’s blaming everything from Vladimir Putin to corporations for the consequences of his own actions, right? ” Foldi replied.

“On day one, Biden declared war on American energy, by canceling Keystone XL pipeline, sending the entire oil industry into a tailspin of uncertainty. Why would you ever invest long-term in American energy when, if when Democrats come into the White House, they’ll shut down your pipelines?”

Foldi also noted that Biden has canceled permits for oil and gas drilling, while Democrats in Congress pressured oil companies to stop drilling in America. Foldi also pointed out that after the embargo on Russian oil went into effect, this policy then left Biden scrambling for deals with hostile regimes in Iran and Venezuala to find replacements, since current levels of American production couldn’t compensate for the difference.

Carlucci nevertheless insisted that these were simply the cost of accepting the need to “use less energy” and force some sort of alternative, presumably a reference to “green energy,” though Carlucci didn’t give any details or specifics other than to say the oil industry “has us by the neck.”

“I think the answer is obvious. We as Americans are addicted to gas and oil,” he contended.

“There’s no other way around it. I think President Biden is being honest with the American people and saying, look, we’ve got to change this. We can’t just drill our way out of this. We can’t frack our way out of this,” he continued.

“So we’ve been talking about climate change and climate crisis. This really puts into perspective when gas prices start going up what is the real cost. We start having to do business with Putin, Venezuela, with Iran, and Saudi Arabia, you see who we have to deal with but the reality is we have to deal with ourselves,” Carlucci added. “We have to embrace policies where we use less energy, where we are less dependent on the oil and gas companies that really have us by the neck.”

Corke said he agreed in principle, but noted that working families are being affected now, and need a solution now, and can’t afford expensive alternatives like buying new cars. By the end of the segment, no actual solution that both could agree on was reached.

Blue Cities Are Literal Toilets, and Libs Are OK With That

I used to enjoy comedy road trip gigs to the west coast. Portland was my favorite city, followed by Seattle. I haven’t been there in 10 years, and here is why.

Even as early as 2011, the writing was on the walls of Portland and Seattle. Homeless drug addicts were everywhere, as were their “calling cards.” As I was walking up to a Portland comedy club, I was shocked by the number of homeless people in the park across the street. It looked like a scene from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video but in a minefield of human waste.

Portland was always fun, but I couldn’t wait to get back to my home in New York City where homelessness wasn’t much of a problem. Mayor Rudy Giuliani cleaned up the town, Bloomberg kept up the good work, and tiptoeing through piles of human doody wasn’t much of a concern.

I don’t live in New York City anymore. I haven’t done a comedy show in the Big Apple since before the “pandemic.” It isn’t my lack of a vaccine passport that keeps me away; it has more to do with not wanting my pretty face opened with a boxcutter or having my oxfords (not brogues) slathered in street dung.

Eight years of “leadership” by Comrade Bill de Blasio has gutted yet another formerly great American city. Mayor Bloomberg left de Blasio a town that was in great shape. All de Blasio had to do was put the city on cruise control, but that was never his plan. Thanks to him, crime is rampant once again. Crazy, drug-addled homeless people rule the streets. Children have been slashed, women get raped, and people are being murdered in record numbers. If you’re planning on a weekend visit to New York, wear your boots because the sidewalks are once again a minefield of what I call “de Blasio street kabobs.”

If you’re lucky, the homeless will drop trou in a bucket and not on your feet. Welcome to The Big Crapple.

 

What is it with big, blue cities and their willingness to accept human waste on the streets? How and why is this tolerated? I grew up in Detroit in the 1970s. Things weren’t great but we didn’t have “Motor City cob-goblins” all over the sidewalks. I suspect if someone attempted such a launch, a neighborhood man or two would have pummelled the pig. These days, human waste is actually accepted as a part of life by liberals, no matter that kids might well wander into it.

TR International, a worldwide chemical company once based in Seattle, left town in part because they were embarrassed by business associates having to side-step homeless waste.

Do bolshie-Americans not realize how dangerous this is? More importantly, do they care? The World Health Organization (WHO) actually has people who study the effects of poor waste disposal. This is what they have to say:

The Democrats have spent decades pretending to care about the poor. If allowing ankle-deep street feces is a sign of compassion, I’d hate to see their angry side.

Infectious disease expert Dr. Lee Riley conducted a study and determined San Francisco is as filthy as any third-world slum.

The contamination is much greater than communities in Brazil or Kenya or India. Riley notes that in those countries, slum dwellings are often long-term homes for families and so there is an attempt to make the surroundings more livable. Homeless communities in San Francisco, however, are often kicked out from one part of town and forced to relocate to another. The result is extreme contamination.

FACT-O-RAMA! San Francisco budgeted $30 million to clean needles and human droppings in the 2016-2017 fecal fiscal year. Also, it takes roughly 30 minutes to clean every pile of “San Francisco treat” off the sidewalks.

A 2021 Los Angeles clean-up crew picked up 180 lbs. of human scat and 544 lbs. of urine at L.A.’s Echo Beach. Venice Beach, once a groovy, beatnik beach, has become a human litter box.

FACT-O-RAMA! A 2019 report found that 80% of west coast beaches were contaminated with “biosludge,” which is a nice way of saying … you know.

It’s hard to find compassion for people who continue to vote for pinko politicians and their self-destructive “woke” policies. Leftists continue to support their apparatchik leaders even as their kids march to school through piles of Newsom’s mud-puppies. But hey, at least they aren’t voting for one of those bigoty conservatives who might literally clean up their streets.

“We see poop, we see pee, we see needles, and we see trash,” teacher Adelita Orellana told San Francisco’s NBC affiliate. “Sometimes they ask what is it, and that’s a conversation that’s a little difficult to have with a 2-year old, but we just let them know that those things are full of germs, that they are dangerous, and they should never be touched.”

The west coast is as woke as a methhead in a Red Bull factory, and we all know what happens when people and cities go “woke.”

Will Anything Be Left of the U.S. After Biden Is Done With It?

The Wall Street Journal is exclusively reporting that Saudi Arabia is in talks to deal with China in the yuan instead of the U.S. dollar. The reaction has been a worldwide collective gasp.

Joe Biden’s recent dumping of Afghanistan is just one of the reasons behind the Kingdom’s stepped-up talks with the communist regime.

The overwhelming number of oil deals in the world are done using the U.S. petrodollar. Moving to the yuan, at least in deals with China, which buys 25% of all Saudi oil, will have a huge impact on world markets. It also calls into question the U.S. dollar’s prominence as the world’s reserve currency.

It is hard to underestimate the fiscal calamity that such a possible move could have on the strength of the U.S. dollar and prestige in world markets. Conversely, the potential move to the yuan could elevate China’s currency to new prestige.

The Journal spoke to Gal Luft, a national security expert who’s written about possible “de-dollarization.” Luft said oil markets are the “insurance policy of the status of the dollar as reserve currency. […] If that block is taken out of the wall, the wall will begin to collapse.”

The Journal reported in Tuesday’s edition that “the talks with China over yuan-priced oil contracts have been off and on for six years but have accelerated this year as the Saudis have grown increasingly unhappy with decades-old U.S. security commitments to defend the kingdom.”

The Journal also reported that “the Saudis are angry over the U.S.’s lack of support for their intervention in the Yemen civil war and over the Biden administration’s attempt to strike a deal with Iran over its nuclear program. Saudi officials have said they were shocked by the precipitous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan last year.”

Bloomberg reported that news of the potential shift caused a price increase in the communist China currency after the news broke on Tuesday.

The rift between Biden and Prince Mohammed has gotten worse. The prince and key emirs refused to take the U.S. president’s calls after Biden’s spike in gas prices became a domestic political liability for him. Though higher prices were always part of Biden’s plan, the president called the Saudis as a hail-Mohammed move to calm angry Americans.

In addition to the other factors that combined to make Joe Biden the Saudi bête noire and gave the Saudis pause about the security commitment to the Kingdom, the business newspaper reported that Biden calling the Kingdom a “pariah” for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi played a role.

The U.S. under President Trump also stepped up oil and gas production to become one of the world’s top oil producers. Once upon a time in the 1990s, Saudi Arabia sold the U.S. two million barrels of crude per day, which dropped over time to 500,000 barrels a day at the end of Trump’s term. Saudi Arabia was still taking Trump’s calls. Biden’s bumbling simply made things worse.

The Saudis also invited Chinese President Xi to a meeting in April.

China has been pushing its yuan petro-currency idea since 2018. The Journal reports that the Saudis, who overwhelmingly use the U.S. petrodollar to do their oil deals, may not switch. But if they do, and the U.S. slides as the world’s reserve currency, who in their right mind would buy America’s debt created with inflated dollars? The Chinese, who own about $1 trillion in America’s treasuries, wouldn’t need us anymore.

Democrats Think You’re Stupid, Suggest You’re ‘Un-American’ if You Blame Them for the Energy Crisis

Right now, Democrats are absolutely reeking of desperation and the smell only gets more pungent as we get closer to midterms. One of the things they’re sweating the most is the energy crisis, a situation that went from bad to worse thanks to bad or worse decision-making on behalf of the Biden administration. Decisions he’s been making since day one.

Democrats are doing their absolute best to spin the crisis to be the fault of anyone or anything but themselves. From Jen Psaki on down, Democrats want you fixed on Russian President Vladimir Putin as the cause of all of your troubles. Case in point, Fox News reported on Tuesday that Washington Democrat Rep. Kim Schrier is pointing at Putin for the energy crisis:

“What do you believe?” Kruse asked the Democrat, after noting that political pundits across the country differed on who to blame for Americans having to pay $4, $5, or even $6 for a gallon of gas.

“I believe a couple of things,” answered Schrier. “Right now, in the last two weeks, this is Putin. You should be blaming Putin, if anyone for this.”

Of course, as any die-hard Democrat politician is wont to do, Schrier injected a little bit of guilt for anyone who dares disagree with her.

“To not blame Putin, first of all, is denying reality, and second, frankly, I think is un-American,” said Schrier. “So this is Putin’s fault.”

To be sure, the price of gas began going up before Putin began his war on Ukraine, but undeterred, Schrier had an excuse for that too.

“People were already suffering at the gas pump before this,” Schrier said. “We saw an increase of over a dollar per gallon over the last year and a half or so. That can be blamed realistically on the pandemic.”

“When people were not going to work and driving was down, gas prices were down,” she added. “As demand increased and rigs had not yet been turned on, there was a supply-demand issue like with everything else in this country and that [the pandemic] was to blame.”

As RedState covered earlier, this attempt at rewriting history has extended to using TikTok influencers to fool people into believing this very narrative. It’s apparently not going well.

It’s hard to convince Americans of a lie when they saw the truth right before their eyes. Biden declared war on domestic oil drilling before he was elected, and on day one signed an order that stopped the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. As data shows, Biden’s actions caused gas prices to begin rising the moment he stepped into power. His entire idea was to bring in an age of green energy, an age we’re not situated for.

Like Marie Antoinette, Biden and the Democrats believe that if the rising price of gas is too much then we all should just rid ourselves of our fuel-guzzling vehicles and embrace the far more expensive electric vehicles.

“Let them drive Teslas.”

As far as Biden is concerned, however, loosening environment regulations is off the table.

Bottom line: We’re currently living in the midst of a massive Democrat virtue signal about the environment, and it’s not only incredibly expensive for us citizens, but it’s also destabilizing global security. Domestic energy and national/international security go hand in hand, and the White House needs to be stripped of the ability to just swipe a pen and stop it all.

One reason for the push for COVID vaccination may be to eliminate a potential control group


There are a number of reasons to explain the intense push from the Biden administration and the government medical bureaucracy to get people to take the COVID vaccine.

From a wide search of the information available, I find it hard to believe that the actual health of people is one of the reasons.

 

For example, why demand people with natural immunity get vaccinated? And why insist on vaccinating children when their risk of serious effects from the virus is minuscule? It make no scientific sense especially when the vaccine itself can possibly cause serious health issues for the young.

 

This brings up one of the less talked about reasons behind the vaccination mania. It’s to eliminate a possible control group of non-vaccinated people to which the vaccinated can be compared. Let me explain.

 

From the highest levels of the government to the public health authorities like the WHO, FDA, and CDC, to professional medical groups (American Medical Association, etc.) to the corporate media, the vaccines have been heralded as safe and effective. Already, the health authorities and the medical establishment have had their reputations sullied with their wrong-headed advice on stopping the virus via lockdowns, mask-wearing, and social distancing. And the number of deaths from the Wuhan virus did not come close to matching their early projections even when the actual COVID deaths were greatly inflated.

 

Now it’s down to the vaccines. They already have egg on their faces due to their earlier pronouncements. Now they’re desperate that people never find out about the possible damage these inadequately tested vaccines may be inflicting on humanity.  

 

There are already clues that the vaccines are causing many near-immediate adverse effects. Credible scientists, immunologists, and doctors are also saying even more vaccine damage could surface down the road. This is because the man-made engineered spike protein in the vaccine causes the body to produce more of it, and this toxic protein compromises the immune system as well as weakens other aspects of the body.  

 

The thing about long-term effects, however, is that their cause may not be clear-cut. For example, say a vaccinated person dies of a heart attack two years from now. The death is recorded as a heart attack. But the fatal heart attack might have been brought on by the spike protein acting over time. It’s the same with others causes of death and the development of diseases like Parkinson’s and so on. This picture is muddled. So can blame be affixed to the vaccine if justified?

 

Yes. It can be determined statistically, but a control group is needed. It’s done by comparing how a sampling of those vaccinated fared compared to a sample of those who weren’t. The general statistical approach would be to take a large random sample from the millions who were vaccinated. Call this the experimental group. A control group would also be needed. It would consists of an equal number of randomly selected people from all those who were not vaccinated. Then a comparison is made of how these two groups performed relative to each other at various intervals of time — say, one year, two years, five years and so on  — in terms of mortality and other health factors.  

 

It should be noted that both the experimental and the control groups will have a mix of people in it. They will be of various ages, sexes, races, pre-conditions, etc. But if they’re randomly selected and the sample size is large, these differences balance out, meaning the groups can be statistically compared.

 

Such a statistical analysis won’t tell if any specific person’s heart attack was due to the vaccine. But it will show whether or not the vaccinated population had a higher incidence of heart failure compared to the unvaccinated. That is, if the vaccine had no adverse effect on the heart, then both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated group would have the same rate of heart failure. This is vital public health information, is it not?  

 

It’s also exactly what the powers-that-be do not want. They fear that the vaccinated group will have a statistically significant higher mortality as well as rates of serious health conditions down the road than the unvaccinated. If so, this will expose the lies, deceptions, and incompetence of medical establishment, Big Pharma, and much of the political class. And if the critics of the COVID vaccines are correct, this will be a butcher’s bill none of them want to face. 

 

To conclude, if just about everyone gets vaccinated, there can be no control group to make the comparison. Hence, the push is for maximum vaccinations. Of course, the establishment has other ways to muddy the waters even if a control group could be assembled. Public health authorities are the central collection point for data. They can have the data collected (or not collected) in such a way so as to make a comparison difficult, if not impossible. But since these people are sincerely interested in the public’s health and guided by impartial science, they would never do such a thing just to save face … or would they?

Three suspects reportedly swarm, beat, strangle police officer during traffic stop. Now they’re facing serious charges.

Authorities arrested three suspects who reportedly beat and strangled an Aurora, Illinois, police officer during a Monday night traffic stop.

What are the details?

An as-yet identified Aurora police officer stopped a vehicle after its operator reportedly ran a stop sign in a residential area late Monday evening.

When the driver — identified as 28-year-old Paul Sherrod — pulled over in a nearby driveway, he reportedly began screaming obscenities at the officer from inside the vehicle.

At that point, a female passenger was said to have exited the vehicle and began confronting the officer. The officer demanded several times that the woman get back out of the car, but she reportedly refused, prompting the officer to begin arrest proceedings against the female passenger.

The obstruction arrest purportedly prompted Sherrod to exit the vehicle and threaten the officer while fleeing on foot.

The officer then began chasing after Sherrod, prompting the two female passengers to follow closely behind. When the women caught up to the officer, they reportedly began attacking him. The distraction permitted Sherrod to join the women in brutalizing the officer, reports say.

The two women then reportedly "began striking the officer with closed fists and kicking his body and head," and later held the officer so as to allow Sherrod to hit him in the head.

A press release from the department added that one of the female passengers also "placed her forearm around the officer’s neck and applied significant force to his windpipe, causing him to lose the abliity to breathe."

The suspect was still reportedly strangling the officer when backup arrived and quickly arrested the trio of suspects.

Authorities identified the female suspects as 24-year-old Jennifer Taylor and 26-year-old Sheba Taylor.

Sherrod and both female suspects each face five felony charges including aggravated assault of a peace officer. The three were booked into the Kane County Jail and appeared at a Tuesday bond call. Both women are being held on a $50,000 bond, and Sherrod is being held on a $75,000 bond.

First responders rushed the officer to a nearby hospital for treatment. He is expected to recover from the attack.

What else?

In a statement, Aurora Police Chief Kristen Ziman said, "Our Aurora police officers are entrusted with keeping our community safe from harm. I am at a loss of words when an officer is physically attacked from something that would have been a simple traffic ticket. We will not allow our city to become a place where criminals feel emboldened, and lawlessness ensues."

Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin added, “This type of lawlessness and violence against our police officers cannot and will not be tolerated. This was an act of malice and cowardice and I will absolutely seek that the perpetrators are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Let’s keep this officer in our prayers as the officer makes a full and complete recovery."

PRAGER: If America Is Racist, Why Have Millions Of Blacks Emigrated Here? Did Jews Emigrate To Germany In The 1930s?

If America is systemically racist, why have millions of blacks from Africa and the Caribbean come to this country over the past 50 years? Why would they and many millions more want to move from all-black societies to a white-dominated, racist one?

This is a question every black and white leftist should be asked. After all, no Jews moved to Germany in the 1930s. And why didn’t any? After all, many Jews were suffering terrible persecution and poverty in Russia and in Eastern Europe. Why didn’t any of them move to Germany after 1933?

We all know the answer: Because Germany was systemically antisemitic.

Even leftists know that answer.

So, one can only conclude that, in the view of America’s leftists, non-German Jews of the 1930s had the wisdom not to move to Germany, but present-day non-American blacks have no wisdom. In the view of America’s leftists, then, the millions of blacks who have moved here and the many millions who want to move here must be fools.

How else could leftists regard blacks who willingly move to America? Any black person who decides to leave a black country for America — a place the left claims was founded by racists to perpetuate racism, built and sustained by racism, to this day composed largely of whites, every one of whom is racist and many of whom are white supremacists, and therefore remains systemically racist — must be either be a fool, an ignoramus or both.

If so-called black “leaders” and other blacks on the Left and white progressives believe what they say about America, why aren’t they doing everything they can to dissuade blacks in Africa and the Caribbean from coming to America? Why aren’t they regularly visiting African and Caribbean countries to warn Africans away from the black-hating country they are thinking of emigrating to?

To this question there is only one possible answer: They do not believe what they say about America.

Whether leftists believe their lies is a question I have pondered for years. And I have concluded that in general, they do. Most leftists believe that Russia colluded with the Trump campaign; that men menstruate and give birth; that Shakespeare and Beethoven are revered not because they are great but because they are white; that global warming is an “existential” threat; that the events of Jan. 6 were an “insurrection”; that voter IDs are a form of voter suppression; and that people who had COVID-19 need to be vaccinated.

But with regard to their believing America is systemically racist and so persecutes blacks — LeBron James tweets that … “We’re literally hunted EVERYDAY/EVERYTIME we step foot outside the comfort of our homes!” and Oprah Winfrey likens present-day America to “the days of Jim Crow when black men would be lynched and dragged through the town as an example for other people to see” — their not making any attempt to dissuade blacks from coming to America makes no sense. It only makes sense if they don’t believe what they say about America.

Truth has never been a left-wing value. Truth is a liberal value and it is a conservative value. But it has never been a left-wing value. Truth is nothing more than whatever the Left says it is at any given moment. That is why Lenin, the father of modern leftism, named the Soviet Communist Party newspaper “Pravda,” the Russian word for “truth” — truth was what the Soviet Communist Party said it was. For Lenin, then, as for Rep. Adam Schiff, The New York Times, Yale University and CNN today, truth is what they say it is.

Their pravda is that America is a systemically racist country. Their pravda is that all whites are racist. Their pravda is that Donald Trump is a white supremacist and that everyone who voted for any Republican is a racist.

Yet, there is a reality that Schiff and these others cannot deny: Vast numbers of blacks yearn to come to America. They do so because they have not been influenced by the pravda of Schiff and his fellow Democrats, The New York Times and the rest of the left-wing media, or by Yale and the rest of America’s left-wing universities. They do so because they have been influenced not by pravda, but by actual truth: America is the least racist multi-ethnic, multi-racial country in world history, and any black who seeks to improve his life and that of his family has a better chance of doing so in America than anywhere else. In fact, within one generation of emigrating to America, Africans from sub-Saharan African countries attain higher levels of educational attainment than the U.S. population as a whole and are more likely to have earned a degree in a science, technology, engineering, and math (Pew Research).

That’s why it is not Africans who are foolish for wanting to come to America; it is America’s Left for thinking they are fools.

Bombshell Wikileaks Email: Hillary Knew Wuhan Was a Bioweapon Threat in 2009


Wikileaks obtained a cable allegedly sent by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the embassies of member nations of the Australia Group, which at the time was planning a plenary meeting in Paris in September 2009.

The existence of this document was reported on Wednesday by Human Events’ editor Jack Posobiec.

On its website, The Australia Group describes itself as “an informal forum of countries which, through the harmonisation of export controls, seeks to ensure that exports do not contribute to the development of chemical or biological weapons.” Its 43 member nations include Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Argentina, to list a few. Neither China nor Russia are members of this group.

The cable, which can be viewed on Wikileaks, stated, “We believe it is important to focus on emerging chemical and biological technologies, trends in the trade of [chemical and biological weapons]-related goods and threats.”

Within the cable, Clinton reportedly issued unique sets of talking points to specific nation members. Posobiec reported that in her comments to France, she conveyed a not-so-subtle warning that the Wuhan Institute of Virology, then undergoing construction of its physical facilities, could eventually pose a “biological weapons proliferation concern.”

According to Wikileaks, the talking points to France read, “The U.S. believes participants would benefit from hearing about your experiences assisting China in setting up a Biosafety Level-4 (BSL-4) laboratory at the Wuhan Institute of Virology from the export control and intangible technology transfer perspectives.”

“We are particularly interested to know how China plans to vet incoming foreign researchers from countries of biological weapons proliferation concern.”

The talking points to Australia also started with the State Department’s reported expression of concern over China’s biological weapons program.

According to Wikileaks, the document read, “The U.S. believes AG members would be interested in any information you can share related to China and North Korea, specifically information related to: China’s Institutes of Biological Products, to include overhead imagery analysis, if possible; Your perceptions of the CBW proliferation activities by Chinese entities; Your perceptions of Chinese government efforts to enforce its export control rules.”

A quick read of the cable shows that Clinton was allegedly worried way back in 2009, long before the Wuhan Lab was even operational, about the potential for weaponized virus research at the facility.

She may have been wrong in believing that visiting foreign researchers posed a greater threat than the Chinese government and military, but according to this document, she was well aware of the opportunity for foul play that a Biosafety Level 4 laboratory could provide.

Why then would she remain silent when an outbreak of a contagious and mysterious SARS-like virus appeared in the same place this lab is located? It no doubt set off alarm bells in her head, if this cable is to be believed. As COVID-19 transitioned into a global pandemic, she kept mum on the possibility, heck, the probability, that this virus may have come from the lab.

Her hatred of former President Donald Trump is so deep and so obsessive, that rather than help her fellow Americans by stepping up and pointing out the connection, it looks as though she chose to use the pandemic as a club with which to bludgeon him.

And she hasn’t stopped. Here’s a more recent tweet from Clinton blaming Trump for the “recent rise in anti-Asian bigotry.”

Certainly, Clinton wasn’t the only government official who declined to make this connection. There are likely hundreds of people who refused to come forward, both in the U.S. and abroad.

I’m not claiming that she is part of a conspiracy or cover-up — only that it looks like she knew very well, and once worried about, the potential for danger posed by a little lab in Wuhan.

Reporter Sends Subway Sandwiches to DNA Lab, Gets Shocking Response After Analysis of ‘Meat’


There is a certain level of greatness ascribed to canned tuna — it is high in protein, inexpensive, widely accessible and one of the nation’s most popular pantry perishables.

Tuna can be found canned in grocery stores, bought fresh at local fish markets or prepared at any Subway sandwich restaurant. Could tuna’s hot streak ever end?

Perhaps.

A class-action lawsuit against Subway is contending that the chain’s tuna sandwiches are “completely bereft of tuna as an ingredient,” according to The New York Times. (The suit was reported on during the winter by The Washington Post.)

Subway’s tuna is “anything but tuna,” posits Karen Dhanowa and Nilima Amin, the plaintiffs in the California-based lawsuit, according to The Times.

Subway unequivocally denies the claim, for it would be imprudent to remain ignorant on the matter.

“There simply is no truth to the allegations in the complaint that was filed in California,” a Subway spokesperson wrote in an email to The Times.

“Subway delivers 100 percent cooked tuna to its restaurants, which is mixed with mayonnaise and used in freshly made sandwiches, wraps and salads that are served to and enjoyed by our guests.”

It is the classic case of one person’s word against another.

Should tuna lovers stay away from Subway?

But the plaintiffs have refused to indicate the specifics of their qualms with Subway’s fish. At the moment, they simply contend  the chain is deceiving its customers by selling “falsely advertised” tuna sandwiches.

According to The Times, a Subway spokesperson continued to recapitulate that, “The taste and quality of our tuna make it one of Subway’s most popular products, and these baseless accusations threaten to damage our franchises.

“Subway’s tuna sandwich ranks among our guests’ favorite sandwiches.”

But as the litigation drags on, a Times reporter investigated the case further. The reporter recently bought 60 inches of Subway tuna sandwiches from three locations in the Los Angeles area, then removed and froze the tuna meat and shipped it to a commercial food testing lab across the country to discover whether Subway’s tuna meat was, in fact, tuna.

Once the product arrived at the lab, a PCR test — a process by which billions of copies of a specific DNA sample are produced — would identify whether Subway’s tuna included one of the two species of tuna Subway says it uses in its sandwiches.

The lab took more than a month to respond.

“No amplifiable tuna DNA was present in the sample and so we obtained no amplification products from the DNA,” the testing lab said in an email to The New York Times. “Therefore, we cannot identify the species.”

However, the lab spokesman did not stop there.

“There’s two conclusions,” the email read. “One, it’s so heavily processed that whatever we could pull out, we couldn’t make an identification. Or we got some and there’s just nothing there that’s tuna.”

Subway declined to comment on the results from the lab, according to The Times.

Before final judgment can be made, however, there are a few important things to note.

For one, after tuna meat is processed and cooked, the fish’s DNA is essentially destroyed, making it almost impossible to determine results from a lab test.

It also wold be uneconomical for Subway to intentionally deceive customers. Tuna already is an affordable protein, so why mislabel its contents?

Dave Rudie, president of Catalina Offshore Products in San Diego, told The Times it might be unnecessary to blame Subway.

“I don’t think a sandwich place would intentionally mislabel,” he said. “They’re buying a can of tuna that says ‘tuna.’ If there’s any fraud in this case, it happened at the cannery.”

An earlier investigation conducted by Inside Edition found that three Subway locations in Queens, New York, used tuna in their sandwiches, according to lab testing.

Thus, it’s possible the sandwich shop could win the California class-action lawsuit.

In addition, the plaintiffs have softened their original stance, according to The Times. In a new filing from last month, the plaintiffs’ complaints focused not on whether Subway’s tuna was tuna, but whether it was “100% sustainably caught skipjack and yellowfin tuna.”

The next time you venture to Subway for a fresh sandwich, however, you might want to think twice about ordering tuna.
