Adam Schiff makes up phony Trump-Ukraine phone conversation during formal statement at intelligence hearing

A day after President Donald Trump released the transcript of a phone call with the president of the Ukraine at the center of Washington’s latest impeachment drama, House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., decided to offer his own version of events.

As part of his opening statement at a House Intelligence Committee hearing regarding the whistleblower’s complaint behind the phone call controversy, Schiff offered a fictional version of a conversation of the July phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Schiff said that the transcript of the July phone conversation between the two world leaders “reads of like an organized crime shakedown.” He then attempted to offer a summary of the conversation that was “Shorn of its rambling character and in not so many words”:

We’ve been very good to your country. Very good. No other country has done as much as we have. But you know what, I don’t see much reciprocity here. I hear what you want. I have a favor I want from you, though, and I’m going to say this only seven times so you better listen good.

I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand? Lots of it. On this and on that. I’m going to put you in touch with people, and not just any people: I’m going to put you in touch with Attorney General of the United States, my attorney general, Bill Barr. He’s got the whole weight of the American law enforcement behind him and i’m going to put you in touch with Rudy [Giuliani]; you’re going to love him, trust me.

You know what I’m asking, so I’m only going to say this a few more times in a few more ways. And by the way, don’t call me again; I’ll call you when you’ve done what I’ve asked.

Schiff went on to call his characterization “in sum and character what the president was trying to communicate.”

The transcript of the phone call between Trump and Zelensky was released Wednesday amid a flurry of calls for impeachment from Washington Democrats. The document outlines a conversation in which the two world leaders discuss a variety of issues but where Trump does not offer any quid pro quo offer or demand on investigating matters related to former Vice President Joe Biden or his son. Hunter.

The current controversy centers on President Trump’s request that Zelensky look into an investigation of a Ukrainian natural gas company that employed Hunter Biden as a board member — an investigation that Joe Biden boasted about pressuring the Ukrainian government to shut down.

Here’s the transcript section where Trump discusses the Bidens:

Good because I heard you had a prosecutor who was very good and he was shut down and that’s really unfair. A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people involved. Mr. Giuliani is a highly respected man. He was the mayor of New York City, a great mayor, and I would like him to call you. I will ask him to call you along with the Attorney General. Rudy very much knows what’s happening and he is a very capable guy. If you could speak to him that would be great … The other thing, There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it … It sounds horrible to me.

Later in the hearing, Schiff’s opening statement was criticized by Republican committee member Mike Turner, Ohio, who said that, while the transcript of the Ukrainian phone call was “not okay,” it was also “not the conversation that was in the chairman’s opening statement.”

Schiff responded to Turner’s criticism that his “summary of the president’s call was meant to be, at least part, in parody” and added “the fact that that’s not clear is a separate problem in and of itself.”

An official Trump 2020 campaign Twitter account responded to Schiff’s “parody” claim saying that “Democrats KNOW President Trump didn’t do anything wrong, so they’re resorting to making things up to trick you!”

Greta Thunberg is a 16-year-old with Asperger’s and global warming activist from Sweden. She also suffers from depression and anxiety disorder.

Despite her challenges and disabilities her parents, the international left and George Soros propped her up and sent her across the Atlantic Ocean in a boat to lecture global leaders on global warming junk science.

It is clear from video that the left is putting a huge amount of pressure on this poor girl and she is not holding up so well.

But the left doesn’t care about this poor child. They are exploiting her to push their socialism.

Monday night on The Story with Harris Faulkner, the Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles came out and accused Greta Thunberg of being “mentally ill.”

MICHAEL KNOWLES: Ironically, there was a study that came out of Carnegie Mellon University in 2015 which showed that meatless diets are actually far worse for the environment than the regular meat-filled diets.

They increase emissions, they increase energy use, they increase water use, but none of that matters because the climate hysteria movement is not about science.

If it were about science, it would be led by scientists rather than by politicians and a mentally ill Swedish child who is being exploited by her parents and by the international left.

CHRIS HAHN: How dare you.

KNOWLES: So, what you’re seeing here is a political movement and a religious movement, and it’s fulfilling religious and political goals of the left but it isn’t doing very much for science.

HARRIS FAULKNER (GUEST HOST): Chris, you had a visceral reaction to that. Go ahead.

HAHN: Yeah, I mean, you’re a grown man and you’re attacking a child. Shame on you. She’s trying to do what she thinks is right —

KNOWLES: I’m not, I’m attacking the left for exploiting a mentally ill child.

HAHN: Relax, skinny boy. I got this. Okay? You’re attacking a child, you’re a grown man.

Teen with Anchor Lodged in Head Praises God for Miraculous Survival: ‘God Definitely Has a Plan’

A 14-year-old boy in Manatee County, Florida, recently became living proof that miracles happen. After he survived a fishing accident that left him with a boat anchor lodged in his head, the teenager says he knows he had a close call, but God was watching out for him.

Back in March, Caleb Bennett was out on the water fishing with his brother and a group of their friends, when the boat’s raised anchor suddenly swung towards them, striking Caleb in the head.

“The anchor had slipped off the boat and it went into the water and was slingshot back into the boat where it penetrated Caleb’s right frontal lobe 2.78 inches,” his mother Kelli told WFLA.

Stunned, but calm, the teenager refused to panic. Instead, he carefully instructed his friends to call for help, knowing that the situation could become deadly at any moment.

“I didn’t want to pull it out because I thought it might bleed more,” he said. “Eventually, it fell out and then I put pressure on it and held my head up. I just stayed calm. I told my friend, ‘Hey, you need to call 911 or I’m going to die.’”

After blacking out, Caleb woke up in a hospital bed to find out that he had been airlifted to a hospital for emergency brain surgery, with doctors doubting that he would ever be able to walk or speak again.

Surgeons performed a partial craniotomy and placed him in a medically-induced coma which likely saved his life.

“We needed to take out a big piece of skull try to take out the pieces of bone and whatever else he had in there from the anchor,” Luis Rodriguez, a pediatric neurological surgeon at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, said in a news release. “And more important, give his brain space to swell because that’s what was going to happen.”

His parents told WFLA that they were grateful their son was alive, but still expected the worst. With such a traumatic injury, it didn’t seem possible that he could ever return to normal.

The couple had been celebrating their wedding anniversary in the Bahamas when they received the phone call with news of the accident and immediately rushed home.

“When I first saw Caleb, I thought I was going to be sick,” Kelli Bennett said. “It’s very hard to see your kid hooked up to every tube, to see that stand with seven to 12 different medicines going in his body.”

“Needless to say, I kind of lost it,” she told CNN.

However, after his treatment, the teenager appeared to be functioning fine — in fact, much better than anyone had believed possible.

Scans revealed that the anchor had miraculously avoided any of the critical blood vessels that might have caused severe damage.

“It’s a real modern-day miracle that I am alive,” Caleb told WFLA.

Rodriguez continued in the news release, “I’ve seen arrows through and through [the head]. I’ve seen bullets through and through [the head]. I’ve seen things like this, but I’ve never seen an anchor, number one, and number two, I’ve never seen anybody with an injury like that walk out of the hospital almost completely neurologically intact. That’s one in a million.”

“He should’ve died right where he stood,” Caleb’s father, Rick Bennett said. “Even if this is our cross to bear for a while or indefinitely, it’s better than the alternative.”

As more time passed and the 14-year-old continued to heal, the family began to celebrate the incredible recovery, thanking their community for all the support they had been shown.

“We are so thankful for, I call it our people, here in Bradenton that just have surrounded us and loved us,” Kelli Bennett said. Caleb’s fellow fishermen in the area held a special fundraiser to gather money for medical bills, and friends and neighbors flooded in to bring food and prayers for a quick recovery.

Now, the miracle continues as the teenager grows stronger each day. Though still in need of additional treatment, Caleb says he knows he wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t part of God’s plan.

“I shouldn’t be standing here today. God definitely has a plan in my life.”

He added that the experience has definitely been surreal.

“I can’t believe I had an anchor in my head. Like, that’s pretty crazy. My friends now call me the ‘Anchorman’ so that’s kind of cool.”

As for fishing, he says nothing could ever persuade him to give it up.

“I still love fishing,” the teen declared. “Nothing will ever change that.”

Biden: In prison, your gender should be what you say it is, not what the prison says it is

A leftover from this past weekend via Red State. Watching the clip below, it made me laugh to think of blue-collar 70s-era Joe Biden time-traveling to 2019 and trying to digest the sort of woke shibboleths he’d occasionally have to mouth during a presidential primary to remain grudgingly, reluctantly acceptable to progressives.

I mean, even 2019 Biden can barely get his scripted lines out here. He all but gives up at the very end. 1975 Biden would be shouting unintelligibly about “malarkey! Malarkey, I tell ya!”

The position he ends up taking has good intentions behind it. Transgender women (i.e. men who present as women) end up being targeted for abuse, sexual and otherwise, much more frequently in men’s prisons than the average inmate is. Put a trans woman in with the male general population and bad things will happen. Last year the Trump administration set new rules, though, that instructed prison officials to “use biological sex as the initial determination for designation” when assigning trans inmates to a men’s or women’s prison, and although the inmate’s safety is also to be considered, the rule goes on to say that “The designation to a facility of the inmate’s identified gender would be appropriate only in rare cases.” That’s the policy Biden is pushing back against here. We need to protect trans inmates from rape, he’s saying.

But of course, there’s a problem too with the blanket rule he suggests about letting inmates decide whether they should be assigned to a men’s or women’s prison. A really, really obvious problem. In fact, the reason the Trump administration changed the rule in the first place is because four evangelical inmates at a women’s prison in Texas sued the federal government, claiming that having transgender women inmates in with them was dangerous.

Which is not a hypothetical. It can in fact be dangerous.

This was an LGBT event, though, so Biden knew what the identity-appropriate position to take was. In fact, his stance on where trans inmates should do their time was barely a footnote in the coverage afterward. Most of the buzz focused on him being the slightest bit rude to the moderator over her challenging questions, setting off a day or so of navel-gazing about sexism. The moderators should revisit this topic at the next presidential primary debate. See if anyone onstage is the least bit concerned about women inmates having to cope with transgender women who may identify as women but are still the size of men.

NEW: Hillary Clinton Seeks to Withhold 6-Page Memo Describing Her Lawyer’s Review and Deletion of Her Emails

Judicial Watch previously sought a deposition from Hillary Clinton, and last month the Court gave the watchdog group additional discovery and witnesses on the Clinton email case.

The judge wanted Judicial Watch to “shake the tree” on a newly uncovered potential Clinton email trove and gave Hillary 30 days to oppose their request to question her under oath.

Hillary Clinton’s lawyers responded to Judicial Watch late Monday evening and sought to withhold a 6-page memo describing her attorney’s deletion of her emails.

“Mrs. Clinton’s attorneys filed opposition to our deposition tonight. She also seeks to withhold a 6 page memo describing her lawyer’s review and deletion of her emails,” Tom Fitton said on Monday night.

Tom Fitton also said that Judicial Watch will “respond to her deposition opposition in 10 days and may file motion to compel on email doc.”

Last December, Judge Royce Lamberth, a Reagan appointee, ordered senior Obama administration officials, including lawyers and aides from the Clinton State Department to be deposed and or answer written questions under oath.

The court ordered discovery into three specific areas: whether Secretary Clinton’s email use of a private email server was intended to stymie FOIA; whether the State Department’s intent to settle this case in late 2014 and early 2015 amounted to bad faith; and whether the State Department has adequately searched for records responsive to Judicial Watch’s request. Judicial Watch deposed nearly a dozen witnesses and will seek addition witnesses and documents from the court, including the deposition of Hillary Clinton and Cheryl Mills, her chief of staff at State and personal lawyer who directed the destruction of 33,000 State Department Clinton emails. Lawyers for Clinton and Mills are expected at the hearing Thursday.

Recall, it was Judicial Watch who broke the story of Hillary’s private server wide open through their FOIA lawsuits and they have been pursuing this case aggressively ever since.

More Proof That Americans Are Tired of Leftist Trash: Emmy’s Have Worst Ratings Ever, Down 32% from Last Year

Here’s more proof that American’s are tired of the joyless, lecturing liberal elites.

The annual Emmy Awards had their worst ratings ever on Sunday night.

The host-less show was down by nearly one-third (32%) in viewers from last year.

Maybe it was all of their lecturing on social issues.

Deadline reported:

The early metrics were not good for the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards and the final numbers are another bludgeoning for TV’s biggest night and Fox, this year’s broadcaster.

Watched by 6.9 million viewers from 8 PM to just after 11 PM ET, the hostless ceremony pulled in the smallest audience for any Emmys ever. That’s smack is a 32% fall in sets of overall eyeballs from the Monday airing of the show on NBC last year, and a 39% drop from the show’s previous Sunday airing on CBS in 2017. In addition, the decline this year from the last time Fox had the Emmys in 2015 is a hard-to-swallow 42%.
