ATHENS, Greece (AP) – Greece’s prime minister and his national security advisers decided Saturday to transfer refugees from overcrowded migrant camps on its eastern islands to the mainland and accelerate the deportation of rejected applicants for asylum without giving them the right to appeal.

The Greek government’s Council on Foreign Affairs and Defence also agreed while meeting for several hours Saturday to increase border surveillance and to activate a 50-million-euro integrated maritime surveillance system that the previous government didn’t put in place. Greece will also boost the coast guard’s fleet with 10 new speedboats.

Government spokesman Stelios Petsas said the council also decided to reunite 116 unaccompanied minors living in Greek migrant camps with their families residing in other European Union countries.

Petsas charged that the previous leftist government had done nothing about “thousands of cases” of people whose asylum applications had been rejected by courts. “The police have already detected 1,000 cases” and will take immediate steps to arrest these individuals, he said in his statement.

The meeting was called after the mass arrival Thursday of nearly 600 refugees and other migrants on the island of Lesbos.

The Moria migrant camp on Lesbos is overcrowded, with over 10,200 people housed in a space designed for 3,000.

Hundreds of people continue to head to Greece from Turkey each week, despite a European Union-Turkey deal restricting new arrivals to the islands pending deportation or a successful asylum application. But Thursday’s mass arrival was the largest of its kind since 2016, when the deal with Turkey came into effect.

Google security researchers are claiming that they have found a number of malicious websites that could hack into Apple’s iPhones by exploiting undisclosed software flaws.

TechCrunch reports that in a recently published blog post, Google’s Project Zero security research team claims that websites that were visited thousands of times per week were taking part in an “indiscriminate” cyberattack that attempted to install monitoring software on users’ Apple devices. Ian Beer, a security researcher at Project Zero, stated: “Simply visiting the hacked site was enough for the exploit server to attack your device, and if it was successful, install a monitoring implant.”

The websites had reportedly been hacking iPhones for “a period of at least two years.” Researchers discovered at least five distinct exploit chains that involved 12 separate security flaws, seven of which are found in the iPhone Safari browser. The hacks allowed attackers to gain root access to users’ iPhones meaning that they had access to the highest level of privilege on the iPhone.

Google stated that according to their analysis, the vulnerabilities were used to steal users photos and messages and could track a users location in near-realtime. Google disclosed these vulnerabilities in February giving Apple one week to fix the issues and roll out an update. Six days later, Apple released an update with iOS 12.1.4.

Google’s blog post on the issue includes:

• detailed write-ups of all five privilege escalation exploit chains;

• a teardown of the implant used, including a demo of the implant running on my own devices, talking to a reverse-engineered command and control server and demonstrating the capabilities of the implant to steal private data like iMessages, photos and GPS location in real-time, and

• analysis by fellow team member Samuel Groß on the browser exploits used as initial entry points.

That’s the scam our government is running on the American people today, a ruse to tamp down expectations of justice.  We all know that the FBI used an unverifiable document, the Steele dossier, to get a warrant to spy on Trump using the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).  This dossier was used to start a counterintelligence operation to plant spies in Trump’s campaign, to get a special counsel to impeach the president.

We’re repeatedly told by reliable sources that these crimes won’t go unpunished — “justice is coming,” “buckle up!,” “tick tock,” “BOOM!”  The DOJ is about to drop the hammer on the bad guys.  Yet after two years of this drama, not a single indictment or prosecution

Now we’re awaiting the much anticipated I.G. report on (FISA) abuse that’s going to blow Spygate wide open.  Or not.

So far, the I.G. is batting zero on justice.  The I.G. report on Hillary Clinton’s email investigation showed pervasive bias for Hillary, talk of an insurance policy should she lose, that Hillary should win “100 million to 0.”  Yet in the end, Horowitz pulled a Comey, said the investigators’ hatred for Donald Trump, their loyalty to Hillary Clinton, didn’t impact their findings in any way.  Huh? 

But the attempted coup has been exposed, and one by one, the Deep State cronies are going down: James Comey, John Brennan, James Clapper, Bill Priestap, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Jim Baker, Andrew McCabe, to name a few who have retired, been fired, or been demoted.

So our message to any future insurgents who stage a coup but fail in their efforts to illegally remove a sitting president and overthrow the United States government is, “Be forewarned: treason could cost you your job.”  Oh, the humanity!

Well, at least former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe is paying a high price for lying and leaking.  He collected over a half-million dollars on his GoFundMe site, ostensibly for his legal defense.  He’ll still get his government pension, has filed suit against the FBI and DOJ for firing him, wrote the ubiquitous political book trashing Trump, and has now landed a consultant gig with CNN.  By damn, that’ll teach him.

Sean Hannity tells us every night that Spygate will explode with declassification, with the I.G. report, or with Durham’s investigation.  Sean’s Fox team of experts agree: the traitors are shaking in their boots because they know what’s coming. 

Really?  Because I don’t see a single traitor twitching, much less shaking.  In fact, they’ve stepped up their sedition, increased their efforts to usurp the president.  If they’re scared, they’re doing a bang-up job of hiding it.  

Today, treason and our two-tier justice system are casually discussed as inescapable facts of today’s political landscape.  Heads up for those desperately trying to put the blindfold back on Lady Justice.  If a layered legal system is what we have, it has nothing to do with justice — that’s anarchy.  And these smug criminals not only revel in their immunity, but rub our noses in it.

Take for example when Hillary Clinton literally laughed out loud at a question about her email investigation — had to wipe her eyes, she laughed so hard.  She laughed at us, at America, for being so clueless as to think she’d ever answer to our laws.  

And she’s still laughing, because she’s right: she’s untouchable.  The consensus is that even though we know that the first email investigation was rigged by the FBI to clear Hillary, no one will reopen the case.

“While she [Hillary] may never face justice in a court of law, perhaps losing the presidency is a more prescient and proper punishment.”

Well, of course, losing a presidential election is far more devastating than wasting away in a prison cell.

Then we have that pathetic excuse for a human being, James Comey, gloating over the I.G. report that issued a verbal slap on the wrist for his infractions. 

Comey: “And to all those who’ve spent two years talking about me ‘going to jail’ or being a ‘liar and a leaker’ — ask yourselves why you still trust people who gave you bad info for so long, including the president.”

But no worries: Comey will pay when the FISA abuse report comes out. 

Or not: Washington insiders are now foreshadowing immunity for the entire cabal, saying that, “sadly,” these lawbreakers probably won’t be prosecuted.  That’s not sad; it’s terrifying.  If we can’t indict and prosecute these clowns who have conspired to overthrow our government, who have committed the most egregious political crime in history, then stick a fork in our Republic.  We’re done.

But what can we do?   Actually, this whole strung out Spygate nightmare is an exercise to ensure we do nothing.  Washington isn’t a swamp; it’s a sewer, and the rats that inhabit it are never going to allow their comrades to be indicted. 

So why would our government strive to calm the masses rather than prosecute the traitors?  Because if the real bad guys are locked up, there would be a cataclysmic backlash from the  three families of the Washington mafia.  The media would squeal like stuck pigs.  Those are their guys, after all.  Congress would lash out, threaten mutiny; they hardly have clean hands.  And the Deep State would gnash their teeth and fight like a wounded animal as they would metaphorically die should justice prevail.

But such resistance is not a reason to avoid justice; it’s the reason to pursue it.  What the media, Congress, and the Deep State have in common is, they’re all just people.  And if people hold authority over the law, we have tyranny.

Then a sailor, Kristian Saucier, who takes a picture on a submarine goes to prison while a Washington power broker, Hillary Clinton, who intentionally exposes America’s most closely guarded secrets goes to the Hamptons.

Or a respected general, Michael Flynn, who served honorably for 30 years might be forced to plead guilty to a crime he didn’t commit while a connected insider, James Comey, who publicly lied under oath, bragged about leaking classified information, goes on a book tour. 

That’s why our Founding Fathers setup “a government of laws, and not of men,” as John Adams put it.

President Trump has kept many of his promises, but there’s one still hanging out there.  In the second presidential debate, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton had the following exchange: 

Clinton: You know, it’s just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country.

Trump: Because you’d be in jail. 

That’s the promise you must keep, Mr. President.  Otherwise, all your accomplishments, the economy, our strong military, our embassy in Jerusalem, the border wall, all will taken away when the next lawless Hillary steals an election or the next attempt to overthrow our government succeeds.

Oh, I know: cut the drama, it’s happening, really.  The bad guys are going down, justice is coming, the guilty will pay, and the check’s in the mail.

The 1st District Court of Appeal on Friday overturned the conviction against Jose Inez Garcia-Zarate because the judge failed to instruct the jury on his defense that he only momentarily possessed the gun.

The Associated Press also reported further comments:

Tony Serra, the attorney who is representing Garcia-Zarate on federal charges of gun possession and being in the country illegally, said his client is in custody and faces a Jan. 13 [federal] trial.

He said the state reversal means the [federal] district attorney will have the option of re-trying Garcia-Zarate on those charges.

“That kind of error causes reversals all the time. Then the prosecution has the prerogative of going again,” Serra said. “The state case is a heavier case because it’s a homicide and a gun. … It’s going to be a big potential decision on what they’re going to do.”

In November 2017, Trump denounced the not-guilty verdict on the murder charge against Zarate.

The legal process is not completed. Garcia-Zarate faces federal charges for illegal possession of a gun.

Friday on Fox News Channel, network contributor and former Rep. Trey Gowdy criticized former FBI director James Comey for claiming he is owed apologies.

Gowdy said, “I’m certainly not going to apologize to anyone who violated FBI and Department of Justice policies, who violated an employment agreement, who shared sensitive information about an ongoing investigation, who sent classified information to an unauthorized person, and then had amnesia when the FBI came to his home to try to retrieve government property.”

When asked a second time if he plans on apologizing to Comey, Gowdy said, “What temperature is it in Hell right now? Is it snowing? When it snows in hell, you let me know.”

He added, “Why would I apologize to somebody who has been dinged on both of the major investigations by a guy like Michael Horowitz, who is hardly a Republican!”

A recent report from the Wall Street Journal alleges that e-commerce giant Amazon kept a “burn book” of mean comments made by New York City politicians about the e-commerce giant during the conflict over the HQ2 project planned for the Big Apple.

In an article titled: “The Missing Piece of Amazon’s New York Debacle: It Kept a Burn Book,” the Wall Street Journal outlines how e-commerce giant Amazon kept a private dossier which cataloged in intense detail the insults it received from New York politicians and labor leaders over the proposed construction of the firm’s HQ2 in New York City.

The WSJ writes:

 

In a private dossier kept at the time, whose existence has gone previously unreported, Amazon executives cataloged in minute detail the insults they saw coming from New York politicians and labor leaders, according to a copy viewed by The Wall Street Journal.

By late January, Amazon executives had been pummeled at two public hearings. The burn book, which was kept in a Microsoft Word document called “NY Negative Statements,” had separate sections for a half-dozen politicians and officials who had gone from thorns in the company’s side to formidable opponents of a deal that now looked to be in jeopardy.

The document recorded how opponents mocked the helipad Amazon planned to build, pushed the Twitter hashtag #scamazon, and brought up the company’s work for the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a sore spot among some Amazon employees. It was an eight-page, bullet-pointed, Calibri font testimony to Amazon’s sensitivities.

The WSJ notes that Amazon kept close records of comments made a number of individuals, from Senators to councilmen:

One of the first entries in Amazon’s burn book went to state Sen. Mike Gianaris, another Democrat whose district included the planned campus. He and Mr. Van Bramer had signed a letter in 2017 expressing general support for the project, but a year on were having concerns.

The tax subsidies—up to $3 billion in total from the city and state—struck them as excessive. Some residents in their districts worried the campus would lead to rising rents and labor leaders were concerned about the company’s union stances. Also worrying the two men, the districts they represented were shifting leftward, and wooing a giant company could hurt them with progressive groups.

 

The WSJ notes that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) attempted to fix issues between Amazon and labor leaders but ultimately, the deal fell through:

 

Mr. Cuomo kept calling contacts at the company after the Valentine’s Day breakup. He suggested alternative sites in the city and asked whether Amazon’s separate expansion in west Midtown, which will eventually bring 5,000 jobs, could somehow be rebranded as a second headquarters, according to people familiar with the conversations. A spokesman for Mr. Cuomo said he called the company but didn’t suggest alternative sites.

He wasn’t in the burn book, but it didn’t make any difference.
